Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a source of kidney illness and liver pathogenesis such as cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Objective: To evaluate variations in hepatic and renal profile of hepatitis-C patients. Methods: For this purpose, blood samples of 94 participants were collected. Out of which 64 were hepatitis-C patients and 30 were healthy controls. All the participants were enlisted from Tehsil Headquarter (THQ) Hospital, Arifwala. Both males and females were included in the HCV Patients group. The serum concentrations of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) urea, creatinine, albumin, bilirubin, glucose and gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) were estimated by chemistry analyzer. Unpaired Student “t” test was applied to analyze the data of biochemical variations in hepatitis-C patients as compared to normal persons with significance level of p ≤ 0.05. For statistical interpretation, Graph pad prism version 6.0 software was utilized. Results: Significant elevation in the levels of glucose (p = 0.0002), ALP (p = 0.01), ALT (p = 0.0009), AST (p = 0.002) and GGT (p < 0.0001), whereas, non-significant increase in the levels of creatinine (p = 0.9) and bilirubin (p = 0.51) was evidenced in hepatitis-C patients as compared to healthy controls. While, significant decrease in the level of albumin (p = 0.0008) was observed in hepatitis-C patients as compared to healthy controls. Conclusions: The fluctuations in these parameters suggest that HCV has a significant impact on hepatic health markers.

The farmers in most regions of Pakistan are heavily reliant on traditional farming approaches all year round and tend to cultivate exhaustive crops like wheat, cotton, maize, and sugarcane in most areas of the country. Consistently adopting this system leads to depleting the soil fertility status, which they overcome by instigating an uneconomical way of using excessive chemical fertilizers to maximize crop yields. These fertilizers are truly acidic and adversely affect soil health. Adopting sustainable farming approaches by the incorporation of legumes into the farming system with an integrated nutrient supply restores soil fertility and maintains the sustainability of the agro-ecosystem. A field experiment was performed to determine the significance of the integrated source of nutrient management on the growth and yield of sole and mixed cultures of sorghum and mungbean crops in areas with moisture regimes. The fertility treatments applied to the sole and intercrops of sorghum and mung-bean in a given sequence; i) Control, ii) Compost @ 10 t/ha, iii) FYM @ 20 t/ha, iv) NP @ 40 kg N + 30 kg P2O5 ha-1, v) ½ of recommended Compost @ 5 t/ha + ½ of recommended NP @ 20 kg N & 15 kg P2O5 ha-1, vi) ½ of recommended FYM @ 10 t/ha + ½ of recommended NP @ 20 kg N & 15 kg P2O5 ha-1. The sole crop of mungbean gave a maximum grain yield of 2229.1 kg/ha over an intercrop of 1779.7 kg/ha. Similarly, the highest grain yield of 2779.8 kg/ha of sorghum was obtained in sole culture over its intercrop of 2150.9 kg/ha. The interaction effect of cropping pattern and fertility treatments showed that sorghum and mungbean gave significant results for growth and yield parameters where a combined dose of organic & mineral fertilizers were provided in comparison to the plots where these fertilizers were applied in split doses.

Alveolar soft part sarcoma is a very rare malignant neoplasm of peripheral muscular, adipose or neural tissue. Its occurrence, as a primary intracranial tumour, is even rarer. To the best of our knowledge, only nine cases of primary intracranial alveolar soft part sarcoma exist in English scientific literature. We attempt to write a comprehensive review on this poorly understood intracranial malignancy, with no evident systemic lesions, such as in the case of our 22 years old patient. In addition to absent definitive proof of benefit of radiologic or chemotherapeutic management, we highlight the role of surgery as the primary treatment. Younger patients with this tumour may have a worse prognosis than elderly patients. Key words: alveolar soft part sarcoma, intracranial, headache, radiosurgery.

We analyzed the electronic data (e-data) of n=5231 vaccinated candidates including n=3671 males and n=1560 females. We studied the COVID-19 vaccine brands such as Sino pharm, CanSino, SinoVac, Moderna and Pfizer. We noted adverse effects in post-vaccinated candidates were Instability in blood pressure 29.5%, Swelling 3.5%, Redness 14.2%, Itching 7.13%, and Rashes 2.4%. Comorbidities in the vaccinated candidates such as Hypertension 33%, Diabetes mellitus 17%, Kidney disease 42%, and Chronic respiratory disease 9%. COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy 1153, 22% and Non-Hesitant 4078, 77%. We analyzed the e-data of COVID-19 vaccinated candidates, the acknowledgement of COVID-19 immunization in pregnant women. Worrying about vaccine safety was the significant justification for hesitancy. Recognizing mentalities among study groups will be valuable for coming up with vaccine strategies that increment the ongoing pandemic.

According to grounded social exchange theory, this study examines ethical leadership's direct and indirect impact on worker’s creative performance. More specifically, this study will also investigate the intervening mediate roles of work engagement and employee’s attitudes towards performing well between Ethical leadership and Creative work performance. The study data was obtained through self-reporting survey questionnaires distributed to employees of construction organizations in Lahore, Pakistan. The findings supported that Ethical leadership directly relates to creative work performance. Furthermore, work engagement and attitude toward performing well positively relate to ethical leadership and creative work performance. The findings broaden our understanding of how factors such as a positive attitude, psychological states, and engagement at work may produce the worker’s performance and increase their potential for creative intellectual in implementing novel ideas at the workplace.

Teachers’ instruction receives immense impact from multiple factors and among them awareness of learning styles’ preferences is significant. Shea (1983) found a strong relationship between styles of learning and reading comprehension. This study attempted to explore correlation between reflective and impulsive styles of learning and scanning information in text scores. 382 undergraduates engineering students (male and female) were selected from a Public sector Engineering University. Andrew D. Cohen, Rebecca L. Oxford, and Julie C. Chi’s (2001) questionnaire was used to explore the patterns of learning styles along with its relevance with the role of gender. A reading test was also conducted along with the questionnaire based on scanning skills. Pearson product-moment correlation test was applied to ascertain the correlation between the variables. The findings will be useful for teachers to determine preferences of learning style of students which will impact educational policies and techniques in general.

SARS-CoV-2 was first identified in Wuhan, China in December 2019 and has rapidly devastated worldwide. The lack of approved therapeutic drugs has intensified the global situation, so researchers are seeking potential treatments using regular drug agents and traditional herbs as well. Objectives: To identify new therapeutic agents from Nigella sativa against spike protein (PDB ID: 7BZ5) of SARS-CoV-2. Methods: The 46 compounds from N. sativa were docked with spike protein using Molecular Operating Environment (MOE) software and compared with commercially available anti-viral drugs e.g., Arbidol, Favipiravir, Remdesivir, Nelfinavir, Chloroquine, Hydroxychloroquine. The Molecular Dynamic Simulation (MDS) analysis was also applied to determine ligand-protein complex stability. Furthermore, the pharmacological properties of compounds were also analyzed using AdmetSAR and SwissADME. Results: Out of its total 46 ligands, 8 compounds i.e., Methyl stearate, Eicosadienoic acid, Oleic acid, Stearic acid, Linoleic acid, Myristoleic acid, Palmitic acid, and Farnesol were selected for further analysis based on their minimum binding energy ranges from -7.45 to -7.07 kcal/mol. The docking scores of N. sativa phytocompounds were similar to drugs taken as control. Moreover, post simulation analysis of Methyl stearate complex predicted the most stable conformer. Conclusions: Further, in-vivo experiments are suggested to validate the medicinal use of Methyl stearate as potential inhibitors against spike protein of SARS-CoV-2.

A plethora of paraneoplastic syndromes have been reported as remote effects of colorectal carcinoma (CRC). However, there is a dearth of data pertaining to the association of this cancer with demyelinating neuropathies. Herein, we describe the case of a young woman diagnosed with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). Treatment with intravenous immunoglobulins and prednisone did not improve her condition, and her neurological symptoms worsened. Subsequently, she was readmitted with exertional dyspnea, lightheadedness, malaise, and black stools. Colonoscopy revealed a necrotic mass in the ascending colon, which directly invaded the second part of the duodenum. Pathologic results confirmed the diagnosis of locally advanced CRC. Upon surgical resection of the cancer, her CIDP showed dramatic resolution without any additional therapy. Patients with CRC may develop CIDP as a type of paraneoplastic syndrome. Clinicians should remain cognizant of this potential association, as it is of paramount importance for the necessary holistic clinical management.

The purpose of this article is to present the multilevel engagement theory to conduct research studies and explain real-life situations. The multilevel engagement theory considers culture and diversity as central aspects along with the multilevel influences and sociocultural and historical contexts for understanding complex relationships and functioning among individuals, groups, and families in societies around the world. A critical review and assessment of the contemporary theories were conducted which uncovered important gaps and helped the author to demonstrate the contribution of the multilevel engagement theory in the relevant fields of study. Then, the author discussed the principles, assumptions, concepts, and propositions of the multilevel engagement theory. The use, application, and operationalization of the multilevel engagement theory in empirical research were also described with specific examples. The author also provided specific and testable hypotheses and qualitative themes for additional clarity and explanation of the multilevel engagement theory. The multilevel engagement theory offers researchers a comprehensive theoretical framework and a unique lens for studying family relationships and functioning in contextualized and inclusive manners. The implications and limitations are discussed.

Objective: To determine the frequency and prevalence of insomnia among medical students of sheikh Zayed hospital and medical college Study design: Cross sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Study started from 1st September 2018 and lasted to 30th March 2019 and was carried out at Sheikh Zayed Medical College and Hospital (Rahim Yar Khan). Methodology: This study was done through a questionnaire (Athens Insomnia Scale (AIS). Sample of the study consisted in medical students who were chose by random sampling to check the prevalence of insomnia. 75 students were male and 60 were female. Similarly,14 students from third year, 93 from fourth year and 28 from final year of MBBS. Complete history record maintain in academic years, sleep hour, midday nap and common cause of sleep disturbance mention in the literature: age, gender, habitat, BMI, physical activity, smoking and socioeconomic status was taken from the participant. During the interview, psychological assessment done for psychiatric illness and other screening for medical issues. Results: Study was done on the sample size (N) of two hundred and sixty (260) medical students. Response rate was 90% for two hundred and fifty students (250). 101(40.4%) were male out of these 250 students, and 149(59.6) were female students. Maximum and minimum age of the students was 25 years and 18 years respectively and mean age of the respondents was 21.076±1. This scale Athens Insomnia Scale, 102 (40.8%) participants were found to be insomnic and 148(59.2%) are non-insomniac. Among 102 Insomniac students, 70 were females and 32 were males. So result indicates that insomnia is more common in females then males. Conclusion: Insomnia is very common in medical student’s .This study shows that prevalence of insomnia in medical students is high. While the severity of insomnia is greater in female medical students as compare to the male students. Practical Implication: In our system, proper assessment of such problems would help in developing policies and adjusting medical study curricula to boost the output of one of the most expensive professional degree courses. Purpose The purpose of this study is to explore and analyze corporate social responsibility (CSR) as a helpful tool in solving significant societal concerns in countries where there is a greater desire for social and economic growth, such as Pakistan. Methodology In order to examine the current issues on supply chain collaboration for sustainability, this paper used a triangulation research method. In order to determine indicators in a CSR-intensive environment, data, and literature, the energy sector publications on EUR-Lex, international and European official papers, and the online site of the European Commission data sources were analyzed in this study. The indicators were divided into groups based on their sources (sets of standards and guidelines, council frameworks, document series, tools, and comprehensive legislation), as well as their intended uses (financial, social, and environmental). Findings The findings state that supply chain collaboration completely fulfills CSR for a viable economy. It focuses on three leading fashion brands and assesses their impact using open-source data, past research, and their official websites. It also highlights how, in comparison to global corporations, Pakistani business satisfies their corporate social responsibility. Conclusion It is concluded that a supply chain can help companies minimize the environmental impact of their supply chain processes. Further, CSR is a part of the supply chain that helps businesses determine their social and economic responsibilities by focusing on environmental aspects to add to a more sustainable economy.

The present study is aimed to recognize the structural styles of hydrocarbon exploration and petrophysical properties of the LGF. The 2-D seismic and well log data set is composed of three seismic lines and well log data of Chak 66–1. Five horizons have been marked with the help of well to seismic tie namely tops of Ranikot, Parh, upper Goru, lower Goru, basal and top massive sands, and out of which basal and massive sands are the objective focus of the present study. Based on seismic data, the study area is characterized by normal faults showing NW–SE dipping trend. Horst and graben structural features are prominent on the seismic lines, which indicated the extensional tectonic regime. Time–depth contour maps and 3D surfaces of objective horizons depict their actual spatial distribution in this area. Wireline logging analysis revealed the physical properties of both basal and massive grains of sand, as 17% effective porosity, 25% average volume of shale (Vsh), 40% water and 60% hydrocarbon saturations for basal sands, Whereas, 16% effective porosity, 35% Vsh, 30% water and 70% hydrocarbon saturations are interpreted for massive sands. Cross–plots of Nphi–Dt and Dt–Rhob also identified that both areas of sand are clean, gas–saturated and have the potential to produce hydrocarbons.

Objective: to evaluate the oral hygiene habits among patients experiencing fixed orthodontic treatment Material and method: The study was conducted in the orthodontic department of Multan medical and dental college, Multan. One hundred and five patients undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment were included in the study. Duration of study was 5months and 12 days. Patients were asked to fill out a questionnaire about the reason for undergoing treatment, the importance of orthodontic treatment in life, and oral hygiene practice after having fixed orthodontic treatment. Statistical data were analyzed by SPSS version 22 to determine the frequency distribution and percentage ratio for each variable. A Chi-square test was applied to compare gingivitis and frequency of brushing and a p-value ≤ 0.05 was considered significant. Results: The mean age of participants was 20± 4.7 years, with females predominant (71%). Most of the patients were undergoing treatment due to a friend’s suggestion (32%) and a dentist’s suggestion (17%). Most patients brushed twice daily (25%) or after every meal (24.4%) and still have gingivitis which represents brushing alone is not enough. Chi- square test was utilized between frequency of brushing and gingivitis and p- value was > 0.05 which is considered insignificant. The most preferred toothbrush was the general toothbrush (28%) and unspecified brush (23%). Which means proper knowledge of the type of brush was lacking. Only 41% of patients were sure about using fluoridated toothpaste which again shows a lack of awareness. 35% of patients were using a toothpick and 22% were using pins to clean their teeth in absence of a brush which again shows a lack of proper knowledge. 37% of patients were using their mouth wash and 24% were using interdental brushes occasionally. Conclusion: orthodontic treatment itself causes plaque retention and gingivitis so in order to maintain good oral hygiene self-motivation and proper knowledge given by the care provider is very necessary to improve gingival outcomes.

Introduction: The Rubella virus has worldwide occurrence and congenital Rubella syndrome are widely recognized as emerging infection in several parts of the world. Methodology: We investigated for peptide vaccine with specific T and B-cell epitopes was identified through bioinformatics-based approaches. These were identified utilizing available Rubella virus E1 glycoprotein sequence databases. The outer-membrane glycoprotein, E1 is a target protein for the prediction of best antigens. Results: The bioinformatics online software Bepipred 2 was used for prediction of potential B-cell epitope (pfcntphgqlevqvppdpgd) was identified and it has shown high conversation against E1 glycoprotein and few other bioinformatics online software NetMHCpan, IEDB and NetCTL was used to identify maximum surface-exposed residues. T-Cell epitope (rpvalpral) was identified and shown to be conserved to E1 Glycoprotein. Predicted epitopes were found to had promiscuous class-I major histocompatibility complex binding affinity to major histocompatibility complex super types, antigenicity scores and high proteasomal cleavage. The three-dimensional modelled structures was created using I-TASSER online server for highlighting the predicted T- and B- cell epitopes. Conclusion: The predicted T and B cell epitope could be used for development of immunoglobulin assay and vaccines.

Campylobacter, one of the most prevalent bacteria responsible for gastroenteritis in human worldwide. Campylobacter infections result from ingestion of contaminated food and water depending upon susceptibility of individuals and virulence of infecting strain. The prevalence of these bacteria is highly diverse and present worldwide. Increase in antibiotic resistance among these bacteria is recognized as emerging public health problem. Current study is designed to analyze the risk factors related with Campylobacteriosis, prevalence in meat (chicken, beef and mutton) and antimicrobial resistance profiles of these bacteria from district Okara, Pakistan. The time span for lab work was from October 2020 to March 2021including sampling and testing. A total of 300 swab samples were collected from poultry, beef and mutton. The ISO 10272-1:217(E) method for isolation through biochemical and molecular identification carried out. Disc diffusion method used for AMR calculation. The overall prevalence of campylobacter was only 2%, detected only in poultry meat out of 300 samples. Among the isolated strains, Campylobacter indicated highest resistance against Tetracycline 100%, followed by Cefotaxime, Tylocine 83%, Enrofloxacin 66%, Clindamycin and Nalidixic acid 50%, lowest resistance against Streptomycin and Doxycycline only 33% and 16% respectively. The significance relation was obtained for two variables that include eating during dealing meat and contact of excreta with meat. Prevalence of Campylobacter is very low as compared to study conducted earlier in Pakistan. The drug of choice for Campylobacter related infections is doxycycline and streptomycin. The results indicate that prevalence of Campylobacter is very low on meat in Okara region but higher microbial resistance.

The study examines how a web-based innovative coaching system affects students' performance and interest in technical drawing in Niger, Nigeria. The hypotheses created in answer to the two study questions are evaluated using the A.05 significance threshold. The investigation was conducted utilizing a pre-post non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental study design. The study's participants comprised 428 National Technical College (NTC) II, students. The sample size for this study was 180 students, of whom 68 were in the experimental group, and 112 were in the control group. The experimental group employed Simple Random Sampling (SRS) and intentional sampling techniques. The instruments used to gather data are the Technical Drawing Achievement Test (TDAT) and the Technical Drawing Interest Inventory (TDII). The reliability coefficient for TDAT is 0.77, whereas the reliability coefficient for TDII is 0.79 using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation coefficient. The mean was used to answer research questions, and ANCOVA was used to evaluate the hypotheses. The study's findings demonstrated that web-based intelligent tutoring solutions are more successful in raising student achievement and piquing their interest in technical drawing than traditional teaching techniques. It was suggested that professors, particularly those teaching technical drawing, employ a web-based intelligent tutoring system for technical college students to enhance students' academic performance and pique their interest in technical drawing.

Education is vital for every country. Education leads to urbanization and economic growth and prosperity. In this research paper we are interested to see how developing country and under-developed countries are taking this important issue under the guidelines of United Nations and World Bank. Economic development is associated with education and urbanization. For this study researcher collected data from all developing and under-developed countries from 2011 to 2020. Our main dependent variable is GDP growth and for education we collected overall government expenditure on education sector and also divided them into three main components of primary, secondary and tertiary to analyze them separately. FDI, fertility rate, gross capital formation, government expenditure also considered in this study. Research result highlights that education sector expenditure not significant, hence government spending on education sector is not transforming their socio-economic issues due to mismanagement, lack of strategies and proper governance. In future governance may also be considered in study and split data of under-developed and developing countries in separate groups.

Interleukin 17 F is a member of IL-17 cytokine family with a 50% structural homology to IL-17A and plays a significant role either alone or in combination with IL-17A towards inflammation in Rheumatoid arthritis (RA). A growing number of drugs targeting IL-17 pathway are being tested against population specific disease markers. The major objective of this research was to investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of Anakinra (an IL-1 R1 inhibitor) and Ustekinumab (an IL-12 and IL-23 inhibitor) by targeting IL17F. The three dimensional structures of IL17F was taken from PDB while structures of drugs were taken from PubChem database. Docking was performed using MOE and Schrodinger ligand docking software and binding energies, including s-score using London-dG fitness function and glide score using glide internal energy function, between drug and targets were compared. Furthermore, Protein-Drug complex were subjected to 150 ns Molecular Dynamics (MD) Simulations using Schrodinger’s Desmond Module. Docking and MD simulation results suggest anakinra as a more potent IL17F inhibitor and forming a more structurally stable complex. Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma

In this work, we will examine the concept of intuitionistic fuzzy $ k $-ideals in the context of right $ k $-weakly regular hemirings. We will investigate the properties of these ideals and how they relate to other concepts such as fuzzy prime $ k $-ideals, intuitionistic fuzzy prime $ k $-ideals, intuitionistic fuzzy right pure $ k $-ideals, and purely prime intuitionistic fuzzy $ k $-ideals in hemirings. We will also explore how the regularity of a $ k $-weakly regular hemiring can be characterized through its intuitionistic fuzzy $ k $-ideals.

Solar energy harnessing devices exhibit promising potential for providing a significant portion of the energy requirement. Among these devices, the solar parabolic trough collector (PTC) is a well-renowned and effective technology. In recent times, a great deal of research has been done further improving the thermal performance of PTC systems. The current numerical study investigates the effect of modifications to the geometry of the absorber tube and the effect of nanoparticles on the thermal performance of PTC. A corrugated tube (CT), sinusoidal corrugated tube (SCT), the corrugated tube having a cylindrical insert (CI), star insert (SI), and increasing diameter rod insert (IDRI) are used to modify the geometry of the absorber tube. The corrugated tube is also analyzed with water-Al2O3 and water-TiO2 nanofluids at volume concentrations of 2%, 4%, and 6%. The results showed that the sinusoidal corrugated tube produced the best results with a value of Nusselt number (Nu) being 15.2% greater than simple corrugated absorber tube without incurring any significant increase in pressure. Moreover, the performance evaluation criterion (PEC) value is also found to be greater than that of simple corrugated geometry. The use of nanofluids as the heat-transfer fluid (HTF) led to an overall enhancement in the heat transfer coefficient h by as much as 20%.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to determine the frequency of non-compliance to treatment and common precipitating factors in stage C heart failure (HF) patients at a tertiary care cardiac hospital of Karachi, Pakistan. Methodology: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at a tertiary care cardiac center of Karachi, Pakistan. Required number of consecutive patients of either gender between 18 to 75 years of age who were diagnosed with stage C HF were included in this study. Data for the study were collected on a pre-defined proforma consisted of demographic characteristics (gender, age), clinical factors, and precipitants of decompensation of HF (duration of disease, non-compliance to the treatment, infection, arrhythmias, uncontrolled hypertension, and anemia). Results: A total of 114 patients with stage C HF were included. Mean age was 56.7 ± 9.9 years with 34.2% (39) patients above 60 years of age. Male patients were 51.8% (59) of the total sample and median duration of disease was 36 [20 to 60] months. Non-compliance to the HF treatment was observed in 48.2% (55), while among other precipitants, infection was observed in 21.9% (25), arrhythmias in 20.2% (23), uncontrolled hypertension in 13.2% (15), and anemia in 18.4% (21). Conclusion: A significant proportion of stage C HF patients were found to be non-adherent to the prescribed treatment. The most commonly observed triggering factor was infection followed by arrhythmias. Routine practice must include an ongoing assessment of compliance to the treatment and lifestyle modifications among HF patients for the proper counseling of non-complying individuals.

Background: Miserable status of health and public health is one of the major problems of more than 1 billion people living in slums across the world. Most of the governments, do not pay due attention. Purpose: Current study is especially devised to highlight the major problems of slum population in relation with health and public health so that better policy measures might be suggested. The second most populous city of Pakistan is Lahore and it is the home of about 27 million people, slums area of Lahore were chosen as population. Methodology: Through stratified sampling technique 250 households from ten slums were chosen as a sample. Inferential and descriptive statistical techniques have been used study in hand. The logistic regression model has been used to analyze the impact of important socio-economic variables on the health status of the family. Results: From descriptive analysis, we know that about 73 percent of the slum residents have no access to even basic health facilities, 32 percent of the slum children are not immunized, 72 percent of the slum women give birth to children without any proper assistance and 56 percent do not receive antenatal check – ups during pregnancy. Further, about 66 percent of the dwellers have no access to safe drinking water while majority face unhygienic and poor solid waste management status. Conclusion: The results of regression model shows that per capita income, education level of the family head, availability of safe drinking water and employment status of the family have positive while smoking and drinking leave negative impact on the health status of the dwellers. The findings address the authorities concerned to take holistic and practical measures for betterment of human development. Pakistan is home to several indigenous communities. However, life in cities is much more challenging than in under-developed areas. Due to social mobility, economic uplift, and better educational and health opportunities; communities migrate from their local towns to cities. Hence, each province reflects a diverse population and cultural groups speaking their mother tongues, practicing different religions, and following their cultural norms independently. Therefore, this study aims to explore the case of young migrant Kashmiri speakers who are residing in different urban parts of Karachi. As the focus is to identify the language use and identity patterns of young Kashmiri speakers in the presence of dominant languages and cultures. Consequently, the qualitative case study has been undertaken using purposive sampling to know about the scenario of young Kashmiris. For this purpose, data were collected from 05 participants using semi-structured interviews and the responses were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings of the study show that the young Kashmiris use the Urdu language in different domains like home, market, education, and friends because of upward social mobility and lingua franca. As a result, it is being used in their ancestral hometowns as well. While the Kashmiri language has been restricted and it is only used for fun and interaction with only relatives. Similarly, the linguistic identity is predefined by being proud of the Kashmiri language, its association and affiliation with the Kashmiri land, and geography. Overall, although the language patterns showed a shift, the linguistic identity is preserved by a high ethnolinguistic vitality among the young generation in cities.

The research dealt with the Kharaj of the Romans by the Byzantines in the third AH / ninth century AD with the narration of the Muslim country Ibn Khardathbe in his book Al-Masalik and the Mamalik, in which he talked about the Kharaj of the Romans in Asia Minor, and his source in that was the book (The News of the Romans and their Kings and Their Countries) and its author, Muslim Al-Jurimi, The Scientist in Countries Rum, as well as Presidency of the Office of Post and News The descriptive analytical approach based on explaining the novel was followed with its main elements (type of Kharaj, amount of Kharaj, times of Kharaj collection, incision of rum Kharaj).

Following the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, many institutions immediately adapted multimedia electronic learning technologies, to provide enablement of electronic learning system, shifting from in-person classroom attendance to online synchronous and asynchronous transmissions. In the current paper, the goal of multimedia electronic learning system is reviewed through the combination of various pedagogical media tools that enabled wide range of curricula presentation. This study has considered four hundred postgraduate scholars from the faculty of computer science and information technology that adopted multimedia electronic learning systems to guarantee that the scheduled graduation date was not surpassed on the account of the institution lockdown. In this paper, the integrated system of creating personalized and self-directed learning through multimedia pedagogical methodology has been highlighted. The study sought to draw attention to the importance of creating an immersive and interactive learning environment using AI-mediated innovation, which provide students with the increased skills required to become cognizant and reflective digital natives. The paper has portrayed that an increased level of electronic engagement via interactive media tools, link to the requirements for the innovative educational transformation which demand an execution of educational curriculum. The educational goals and needs are first defined, and then the most effective learning environment for students has been designed.

شهدت الحركة الرياضية تطوراً سريعاً وفعالاً خلال السنوات الماضية ، وقد ظهر هذا التطور كنتيجة فعلية لكثير من التغيرات التي طرأت على غالبية الألعاب ، من ضمنها لعبة الكرة الطائرة التي حظيت بنصيب وافر من هذه التطورات ، سواء في قانون اللعبة أم في رفع مستوى قدرات اللاعب البدنية والمهارية والخططية والنفسية والعقلية والتي انعكست بالتالي على تحقيق انجازات رياضية كبيرة في جميع المستويات . إن ما يميز لعبة الكرة الطائرة عن باقي الالعاب الرياضية الأخرى أنها تعتمد على القدرات العقلية بقدر ما تعتمد على القدرات البدنية ، ولما كانت أغلب مهارات الكرة الطائرة متتالية ومتسلسلة ، وتتطلب مستوى عالٍ من الدقة في الأداء ، وإن هذا الجانب يتزامن مع التعديلات الأخيرة التي أجريت على اللعبة مما جعل قانونها أسرع ، مما يتوجب على اللاعب أن يشعر ويفكر ويدرك ويوفق بين جهازيه العصبي والعضلي بصورة أشمل . وتؤدي القدرات العقلية دوراً مميزاً في استيعاب الفرد واكتسابه المعلومات ، ومن ضمن هذه القدرات الإدراك الحس– حركي ، الذي يعد مسؤولاً عن الأفعال الحركية وتفسيرها وتنفيذها من خلال التعرف على المحيط والبيئة المراد عمل الحركة من خلالها .

Background: A major danger to the health care system is the rise in antibiotic resistance. The aim of current Study is to evaluate the comparison defined daily dose (DDD) and prescribed daily dose (PDD) of macrolide and to evaluate the prescribing pattern of the drug, either it met the standards or not. Methodology: Quantitative, retrospective study was carried out to measure the use of antibiotics specifically macrolide antibiotics in ENT outdoor department of teaching hospital Punjab, Pakistan. Study research from August 2021 to October 2021, the patient who was reported in OPD of ENT department during study period of 3 month retrospectively. Results: Total 438 prescriptions were collected and reviewed to evaluate the prescribing pattern of macrolides in outdoor patients of ENT department. Out of 438 prescriptions only in one prescription 10 antibiotics was prescribe (polypharmacy) and in 19(4.3%) prescriptions only one antibiotic is prescribed. Drug prescribed by their generic were 438(100). Encounter with antibiotics 95%. All drug were prescribed from essential drug list (EDL). Azithromycin was the most commonly prescribed drug in ENT department, followed by clarithromycin. Conclusion: Control bacterial resistance is become challenge to our health care system, major portion of our population is become resistance to majority classes of antibiotic if this practice will continue in future, it became difficult to control or treat infectious diseases. Irrational use of drugs, over prescribing of antibiotics and brand prescribing were observing during the study. Lack of knowledge and non-adherence to the prescribing indicators are the major factors that contribute towards the irrational drug prescribing that ultimately leads towards the antibiotics resistance.

The degradation of water supplies is linked with poor anthropogenic activities. This study determines that contamination of water supply occurs because of destabilization of pipe material and deposits in the water distribution system due to physiochemical and microbiological processes that have developed over decades and cause health issues (Hepatitis C, and GIT disorders) which result in the death rate of 3.4 million people over the globe. This study was conducted in Gujrat, Pakistan and the primary source of data collection was a survey questionnaire while secondary sources involved a comprehensive literature review. ANOVA test, Correlation, and reliability analysis were applied to test the variables. The results of this study revealed that contaminated water supplies, oxyhydroxide products of corrosion, the mixture of sewage, and industrial effluents were significantly associated with the contamination of water supplies. The findings of this study also explore the contamination of household store water (HSW), contaminated water supplies, and the mixture of sewage, and industrial effluents that were responsible for water contamination, whereas; the condition of underground water supply pipelines was very worse. The use of upgraded water supply systems and water purification technologies is a common global practice that would be useful to reduce water supply contamination. The findings of this study will contribute to the literature on water supply contamination, the framework of water quality parameters, and low-cost adaptable water treatment techniques.

Baloch resistance in Pakistan has been a political struggle and ideological movement which was meant to pressurize the successive governments of Pakistan to ensure the due rights of the inhabitants of the province. The issue of Balochistan is no doubt political in nature which could have been settled via political dialogues and negotiations, however, trust deficit and rigid attitudes from both sides have taken deep roots that never allowed them to be on a single page for larger interest of Balochistan. The paper investigates the fact that the persistence unjust policies and rigid attitudes of the successive federal governments towards Balochistan gave birth to sense of deprivation and sense of alienation among Baloch ethnic group. As a result, Baloch ethnic group has justified and linked their resistance with the matters of their ethnic and ideological survival in the country. The paper further finds that the resistance movement of Baloch is the result of the long-term unjust approaches of the successive federal governments of Pakistan. The paper aims to find out severe implications of the resistance on province-center -nexus on long-run.

Objective: To know the demographic representation along with possible ENT manifestations of Black Stone Poisoning. Study Design: Cross Sectional study. Setting: Emergency and Wards in Nishtar Hospital Multan. Period: April 2018 to December 2018. Material & Methods: The study was executed in total of 156 Patients with history of Black stone ingestion in Emergency and wards in Nishtar Hospital Multan. All included patients were having history of black stone ingestion along with ENT complications following black stone intake. All cases were excluded who were dead or unresponsive. Results: Most of the cases, 119 (76.3%) were females, between the age group of 11-20 years (41.66%) and 129 (82.7%) belonged to rural areas. Out of 156 subjects, 137 (87.8%) ingested black stone with intentions of suicide. It was noted that 102 (74.4%) patients ingested black stone due to family related issues. Most common ENT manifestations were hoarseness of voice in 149 (95.5%), uvula and pillars edema in 143 (91.7%), tongue edema in 140 (89.7%) and neck swelling in 131 (84.0%). Conclusion: Women more than men, young people more than any of the other ages, rural population more than urban and people living in stressful environment are prone to Black stone ingestion. Lips and tongue edema, neck swelling, odynophagia, vestibulitis, limited mouth opening, ulceration of buccal and nasal mucosa and epistaxis are the commonest ENT manifestations of black stone poisoning.

Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of positron emission tomography combined with CT scan (PET-CT Scan) in detecting bone marrow involvement in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, keeping bone marrow biopsy as gold standard. Methodology: From November 2017 to May 2018, a cross sectional validation study was carried out at the Aga Khan University in Karachi Department of Oncology's Section of Clinical Hematology. The study comprised a total of 112 patients who were identified as having diffuse large B cell lymphoma after a lymph node was implicated was histopathologically examined. All patients had a PET-CT scan and bone marrow biopsy technique as part of the staging workup. With bone marrow biopsy acting as the gold standard, the diagnostic efficacy of a PET-CT scan for identifying bone marrow involvement was evaluated. Results: Of 112 patients, there were 71(63.39%) males and 41(36.61%) females. The mean age was 45.09±17.36 years. The mean duration of diagnosis was 17.19±6.02 days. Through biopsy, bone marrow involvement was identified in 40 (35.7%) cases. Through a PET-CT scan, bone marrow involvement was identified in 47 (41.9%) cases. The PET- CT scan in comparison with bone marrow biopsy for detecting bone marrow involvement in patients with DLBCL had a sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and diagnostic accuracy of 95%, 87.7%, 80.85%, 96.92% and 90.18% respectively. Conclusion: PET-CT scan can accurately detect bone marrow involvement in patients with DLBCL so it can be used in most patients instead of invasive bone marrow biopsy procedure for staging of DLBCL patients.

Hog deer (Axis porcinus) is one of the least studied animal species in Pakistan. It belongs to Order Artiodactyla and the family Cervidae. IUCN classified Axis porcinus as an endangered species in 2008. The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of varying environmental exposure, genders, and seasonal changes on captive hog deer (A. porcinus) at Lahore Zoo, Safari Zoo, and Jallo Park in Lahore, Pakistan. Non-invasive techniques were used to monitor stress levels in hog deer. For sample collection, four definite months belonging to two seasons’ winter and summer were considered. A total of 48 urine and faecal samples were collected from both male and female hog deer. Seasonal fluctuations have been found to have a significant impact on faecal and urinary cortisol levels. Higher cortisol levels were found in both male and female hog deer in the summer season at all three visited sites. Fluctuations in environmental exposure at three research sites had a significant impact on faecal and urinary cortisol levels. Higher levels of cortisol were found in both male and female hog deer at Jallo park and Lahore Zoo, as compared to Safari Zoo. It was concluded that lower cortisol levels at Safari Zoo might be due to better environmental conditions and more flexible enclosure size and interaction of various species of deer. Temperature affected hog deer cortisol levels in summer, as higher levels were measured in summer compared to winter. In addition, sex did not predict any stress levels in hog deer. It has been suggested that a large enclosure size can control levels of cortisol in hog deer.

Abstract: Molecular hydrogen proved itself as a novel therapeutic candidate and has been thriving from the beginning with its potential clinical significance, higher affinity, and cellular integrity and permeability. Hydrogen Therapy (HT) has gained scientists' attention with the proven clinical ability to attenuate chronic inflammation, diminish oxidative stress, restrict apoptosis, minimize cellular injury, and refine tissue functioning. Therapeutic Implementation of H2 for disease prevention and treatment is a newly emerging field with limited knowledge available on formulations, tissue-specific effects, efficacy, and safety. This article will discuss HT's therapeutic potential for its efficacy and safety in cardiovascular, respiratory, hematological, metabolic, infectious, and neurodegenerative disorders. In addition to this, the molecular mechanisms and nanotechnological implications of hydrogen therapy will be discussed in detail. Finally, the article will provide insight into advancements and automation, future perspectives, and recommendations. There is a need to study and conduct higher-scale trials targeting personalized treatments under molecular and genetic vitals.

Plastic pollution is inviting a global environmental crisis. Plastic production and its corresponding waste generation are increasing dramatically as a result of growing populations, continued urbanization, and changes in modern lifestyle. Moreover, the problem of this extremely useful product is its long life. Converting waste plastics into liquid and gaseous products is considered a wise alternative to minimize the damage to the environment and moreover, decrease the dependence on fossil fuels. The idea of depolymerization of plastics into other products is its conversion into monomers and subsequently into platform chemicals.

Objective: To analyse the clinicopathological spectrum of COVID-19 among 2000 patients. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Combined Military Hospital, Abbottabad Pakistan, from Apr to Jun 2020. Methodology: The study included 2000 patients who came to CMH Abbottabad to seek medical attention during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Age, gender, contact history, history of foreign travel, clinical features, comorbid conditions and results of SARS-CoV-2 PCR were observed. Results: From 2000 cases, 1442(72%) were males, and 558(28%) were females. The mean age was 35.02±13.00 years, and 1275(63.8%) cases were from the 3rd to fourth decade of life. 900(45%) of the cases had a contact history with a COVID-19 patient, whereas only 4(0.2%) had a history of foreign travel. 1854(93.0%) of the cases were asymptomatic, whereas only 48(2.4%) presented with fever and cough, the most common symptoms. Only 26(1.3%) cases had associated comorbid conditions, and 263(13.0%) cases showed positive PCR results. The statistical association was found to be significant among age groups, gender, contact history and results of SARS-CoV-2 PCR,(p-value< 0.001). Conclusion: This study provides an overall view of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has grasped the globe within no time.Efficient preventive and control measures are mandatory, in addition to early identification and diagnosis, to overcome the infection.
