Subclinical mastitis is a common and costly disease affecting dairy cattle. This research aims to examine the impact of subclinical mastitis on dairy cattle production and evaluate methods for controlling and reducing its prevalence. The study will focus on the effects of subclinical mastitis on milk yield and quality, as well as its impact on animal health and welfare. The goal is to provide valuable insights for dairy farmers and industry professionals to improve management practices and reduce the economic losses associated with subclinical mastitis. A total of 144 cattle from 25 different farms were analyzed for subclinical mastitis, with 54.86% (n=79) of the cattle found to have subclinical mastitis. Results revealed a moderate association between the prevalence of subclinical mastitis as determined by the CMT test and the UdderCheck® test. The study also found that the most common bacteria causing subclinical mastitis were Coagulase Negative Staphylococci (CNS), Coliforms, Streptococcus spp. and Staphylococcus aureus (CPS). The results of the antibiotic sensitivity test showed that ciprofloxacin was the most effective in treating various pathogens associated with mastitis. The results of this study highlight the need for further investigation into the impact of subclinical mastitis on dairy cattle, particularly with respect to the various bacteria causing the condition and the effectiveness of different antibiotics in treating it. .

This review examines the trend of applying theories in LM performance and offers the latest recapitulation of related theories in LM performance. The methodology is based on Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) to search for multiple scientific information databases and to guarantee that no important study is overlooked. For the single theory, highly employed theories were the Theory of Constraints, Resource-based View/Natural Resource-based View Theory (RBV/NRBV), and Contingency Theory (CT). Meanwhile, several articles employed integrations of several theories in a publication. Concerning the year of publication, significant growth in articles with underpinned theories was published from 2020 onwards. This study offers several significant contributions to researchers to widen the knowledge related to the adaptation of theories in the field of lean performance, as research underpinned by a theory offers a solid and convincing result in investigating the research problems. The first limitation was the search string to identify the related articles, which could be extended to maximize the article search. The other limitation was the database used which was limited to the Scopus database. Despite the importance of underpinning theory in research, OM has been criticized for the inadequacies of its theory, with only one-third of OM research incorporating theory. However, a limited review was conducted on the theories used in LM performance theory. To reduce this gap, this review examines the trend of applying theories in LM performance and offers the latest recapitulation of related theories in LM performance.

Assessing the potential impacts of climate change on crop evapotranspiration (ET), groundwater contribution (GWC) towards meeting ET and yield is crucial in allocating water resources particularly in the areas where shallow water-table depths (WTDs) are expanding on larger area. The impact of climate change on crop ET and yield has been evaluated in the past by indirect methods using simulation models. However, those models are lacking the function of GWC which is one of the most important parameters while determining ET at different water-table depths (WTDs) and its impact on yield. Direct methods (without simulation models) using long term historical weather data (observed data) provide more accurate results of climate change impact on ET, GWC towards meeting ET and yield at different WTDs. In this study, long-term historical weather data for the last 34 years (1987-2020) and data obtained through lysimeteric studies were analyzed to examine the trends of climatic parameters, their relationship and impact on wheat and cotton ET, GWC to ET, yield and water use efficiency (WUE). These studies were carried out during 1986-1987 and 2017-2021 periods at 1.50 m, 2.25 m, and 2.75 m WTDs in Sultanpur soil series (silt loam textured) and Miani soil series (silty clay loam textured). The mean daily temperature has increased 0.45 oC and rainfall 75.5 mm/year over a period from 1987 to 2020 which is witnessing the climate change. Wheat ET is increased, GWC contribution to ET is decreased and, yield and WUE is highest during the cropping periods of 2017-2021 as compared to 1986-1987. Climate change has decreased cotton ET and GWC towards meeting ET. It has also reduced the wheat and cotton cropping cycles by 8 days and 21 days, respectively. Higher magnitude of rainfall (during July-September) in 2019 and 2020 resulted in reducing cotton average yield of 2017-2020 compared to 1987. The study demonstrates that irrigation allocation should be increased for wheat and decreased for cotton particularly in the shallow water-table areas under Sultanpur soil type where water-table remains at 1.50 m – 2.25 m depths. Moreover, cotton crop should be cultivated by the 1st week of April, so that highest yield of cotton could be harvested before onset of monsoon.

Objectives: To evaluate the quantity and duration of junctional rhythm during radiofrequency ablation among atrioventricular nodal reentry tachycardia (AVRNT) patients. Methodology: A Cross sectional study was conducted at Punjab Institute of cardiology from May – July, 2022. Ablations of slow pathway were executed on 50 patients who fulfilled the inclusion criteria using ablation catheters of 4-mm tip. Power output was kept between 35- 40 Watt with a temperature control at 60 °C depending upon the occurrence of junctional rhythm. The target end points of radio frequency ablation (RFA) were inability to either induce or spontaneously demonstrate clinical tachycardia. Presence of more than one atrio-ventricular (AV) nodal echo beat was the criteria to continue further ablations as it was considered indicator residual slow pathway. Data was entered in SPSS software version 21.0 and were presented as mean ± SD were used. Results: The mean age of the patients was 36.50 ± 7.129 years. Ablation power was titrated between 35-40 watts (Mean 39.6 ± 1.37). The average amount of junctional beats in each patient was 57.34 ± 9.71 (73-38) with mean duration of junctional rhythm was 29.20 ± 3.47 sec. Objective: To assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of students and physicians regarding tissue and organ donation at a teaching hospital. Method: The cross-sectional study was conducted at the Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi, in 2019, and comprised physicians and students of ether gender. Data was collected using a 43-item self-administered questionnaire. Dichotomous questions were scored as 1 or 0, while multiple-option questions were scored as 2, 1 or 0. Data was analysed using SPSS 25. Results: Of the 859 subjects, 761(88.6%) were students with a mean age of 20.3±1.5 years and 98(11.4%) were physicians with a mean age of 30.6±9.4. Among the students, 630(82.8%) were medical students, while 131(17.2%) were dental. The largest group among the students was of those in the second year of their studies 271(35.6%). Besides, 531(69.8%) and 64(65.3%) physician were females. Compared to males, female students reported better mean scores in terms of attitude, while higher practice scores were obtained by both male students and physicians (p=0.021). Context Allelopathy is recognised as a potential technology to control weeds, and could also be a suitable approach for enhancement of crop yield. Aims The study was conducted to investigate the allelopathic role of Averrhoa carambola leaf extract on growth, anatomical and physiological features of three wheat lines, namely 3094, 7076 and A2011. Methods Three dilutions i.e. 0% (control), 15% and 30% of the leaf aqueous extract were applied at 15 day intervals (total five applications) on wheat lines until maturity. Key results All wheat lines showed differential behaviour to allelochemicals of A. carambola leaf extract. Increased root area was accompanied by a high proportion of storage parenchyma tissues and enlarged vascular bundles in line 3094. Disintegration of root cortical parenchyma and complete transformation of chlorenchyma into sclerenchyma in stem was recorded in all wheat lines, particularly at the highest concentration of leaf extract. Line 7076 showed very different behaviour, as it possessed a proportionally enlarged root cortex, enlarged stem vascular bundles and increased leaf thickness, primarily at the highest concentration of leaf extract. Background: We aim to determine the prevalence of perineal pain following postpartum vaginal delivery, the requirement of paracetamol as analgesia, and its associated factors. Methods: The study was performed from December 14, 2020, until February 14, 2021, in a single tertiary centre in northwest Malaysia. The pain score was assessed immediately postpartum and every six hours for the next 48 hours, and the requirement for paracetamol as analgesia was documented. Maternal sociodemographic data and baseline clinical details associated with the requirement for paracetamol were analysed. Results: A total of 285 study participants were included. The majority (93.0%) were Malays, with a mean age of 31.0 6.08 years. Majority of the women delivered their second child (36.1%) with a first-degree tear (46.7%). The majority neither required any analgesia within the first few hours of delivery in the labour room (71.3%) nor in the next 48 hours of ward observation (54.4%). Background: Venipuncture is a common procedure in the emergency department, and in some patients, the procedure may cause pain, anxiety, and fear. There are different studies in the literature looking for ways to reduce the pain, either pharmacologically or non-pharmacologically. Most of the studies were done in pediatrics but a few were in adult patients. We conducted this study to determine whether an ice pack application reduces venipuncture pain among emergency department adult patients compared to the conventional way. Methods: We conducted this randomized controlled clinical trial on adult patients in the Security Forces Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 1 March 2021 to 30 June 2021. Computer randomization was done to randomize subjects to either control or intervention. The 22-gauge needle catheter was inserted in the antecubital fossa in all participants. Results: We included 281 patients aged 18–60 years, who were randomized to the control or intervention group. There were 140 patients in the control group and 141 in the intervention group. The mean average pain score in the control group was 2.19 and 1.66 in the intervention group, with a statistically significant difference (p-value: 0.016). Conclusion: The ice pack application reduces venipuncture pain in adult emergency department patients and was associated with a better first attempt success rate.

Objectives: Cardiovascular disease (CVDs) is the leading cause of deaths globally. Apart from traditional risks, multiple indigenous factors are implicated to impact disease courses. Lifestyle factors distinct to South Asians may predispose to disease or serve a protective effect. Our study objective was to determine the Relationship of lifestyle and dietary habits of South-east Asian (Pakistani) population with cardiovascular diseases. Methodology: A case-control study was conducted from April to October 2021 in a two-thousand bedded university teaching hospital in Karachi, Pakistan. Out of 400 participants, 189 were cases with a documented cardiovascular event and 211 were controls. Participants >18 years were included whereas pregnant females and patients with congenital heart defects were excluded. Terengganu Marine Parks (TMP) is a 591.37 km2 marine protected area. TMP are popular tourist destinations that significantly generate revenue to the government and local businesses through tourism sector. However, the anthropogenic activities have contributed to TMP’s declining ecosystem health, particularly the coral reefs. Therefore, a sustainable ecosystem-based management is required to maintain the ecosystem. In this study, we identify issues related to the marine park’s governance, development on islands, tourist activities and coral health status in the TMP for assessing potential management strategy for conserving the ecosystem. The findings on management in TMP found that there is an overlapping in managing the marine park between the federal and state government. Unintegrated development to accommodate rising number of tourist and their activities in the marine parks are identified as the factors contributing towards degradation of the ecosystems. Relatively, reef areas close to these local pressures are in ‘poor’ condition, indicating that threats arising from the activities affecting the marine ecosystem. Hence, this study analyses the potentials in adopting Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) in the TMP for managing the conflict between user and the ecosystem. The Australian Great Barrier Reef Marine Park which applied the zoning of marine area is used as a benchmark to examine the best practices of MSP to govern the TMP. At present, we suggest using coral reef health status as an early alternative and best practice to provide different zoning criteria for strategic marine protected area (MPA) management for TMP.

Modern digitalization technology known as Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) has the potential to enhance business operations and communication networks across a variety of sectors. The lack of high-tech processes and technology in the construction industry, however, is growing the distance between the industry and IR 4.0 change. There has not been any prior research on the drivers and challenges of the IR 4.0 transition in the construction industry using DEMATEL. Therefore, the DEMATEL method was utilised to assess the interaction between the drivers and barriers of the IR 4.0 revolution in the construction industry. From the literature review, a list of factors that influence and hinder growth was taken. During interviews, 17 experts provided data using the DEMATEL questionnaire, which was subsequently used for analysis. The impact-relation map diagram showed key elements and their relationships. The outcome demonstrates challenges with the Incompatibility of Innovations (P) is the most significant issue, which is a major barrier that must be overcome. As a result, the listed drivers can be improved further, and the mentioned barriers can be overcome.

Olive (Olea europaea) is very popular for producing premium quality edible oil, though it is the main crop of the Mediterranean region, playing a pivotal role in the economies of those countries. Its cultivation is increasing in other countries, including Pakistan, due to its wide adoptability and easy propagation technology. The very wide genetic variability of the plant is a reason for its popularity. Olive varieties behave differently in different climatic zones of the world. Pakistan has adopted various varieties for their cultivation in different olive production pockets. These studies were conducted in the Centre of Excellence for Olive Research & Training (CEFORT), Chakwal, to prioritize suitable olive varieties for Pakistan's economical olive oil business. The highest yield (2652 Kg/acre), Net Profit/acre (Rs. 271386), Oil Recovery/acre (331.7652Ltr.), and Oil income (331765.2) was observed in BARI Zaitoon-I while Average Oil Recovery (13.48%), Total Expenditure /Acre (61335.01) was observed in Arbiquina olive variety. BARI Zaitoon-1, BARI Zaitoon-2, Arbequina, and Koroneiki proved most suitable for cultivation in sub-mountainous areas of Pakistan. These varieties are recommended for olive cultivation in the Pothwar region due to their growth behavior, olive oil content, and good economic return. The difference in the fruit ripening period among these varieties results in the prolonged supply of raw material to the olive oil extraction industry.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to review the plethora of studies on knowledge management (KM) in the hospitality and tourism. The purposes of this paper through a bibliometric analysis via the VOSviewer tool are to analyze the current research stream and to assess emerging trends in KM in the tourism and hospitality field. Design/methodology/approach A total of 1,732 publications with 65,150 cited references were retrieved from the Web of Science to uncover the structure and intellectual base of studies in tourism with a KM perspective. Three bibliometric analyses were performed using VOSviewer software (citation, co-citation and co-occurrence of keywords); this study aims to uncover the knowledge structure of the past, current and future trends based on the bibliographic database by assessing the most influential past publication; determining the structure of the co-cited publications; and evaluating emerging trends for future studies. Findings This study produced two ground-breaking research streams inductively evaluated from the three bibliometric analyses: KM and digital technology; and innovation in tourism. Furthermore, the pressing issue of sustainability in tourism from the perspective of KM would be a crucial aspect in the tourism field. These streams would provide fundamental knowledge-based and further enhance the assimilation of KM within the tourism sector. The outcome would facilitate future scholars to link important tourism topics to benefit the tourism industry facing a competitive and challenging business environment. Research limitations/implications This study contributes to the current theoretical understanding through thematic knowledge mapping of KM and the tourism and hospitality field. Originality/value To the best of the author’s knowledge, this study is the first to apply bibliometric analysis to the tourism and KM field by providing a basis for the most significant issue in tourism and the essence of emerging topics and trends.

Background: Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are a major cause of premature deaths globally. The gap between knowledge and behavior regarding modifiable risk factors related to these diseases has been noticed in medical students and is associated with a high number of morbidity and mortality. The aim of this study was to assess knowledge and behavior regarding cardiovascular diseases risk factors among newly enrolled MBBS students. Subjects and methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted from May to September 2021. A total of 140 first-year MBBS students participated including 80 females and 60 males. Data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire having 17 questions and two sections, one for knowledge assessment and the other for the behavior of participants regarding CVD risk factors. Results: Major risk factors for heart disease identified by students included obesity (99.3%), high cholesterol (98.6%), hypertension (97.9%), lack of physical activity (95.7%), smoking (82.1%), older age (89.3%), family history of heart disease (73.6%) and diabetes (78.6%). Pertaining to personal history, 10% were smokers, 32.1% regularly consumed soft drinks and 79.3% reported having any physical activities. Significant differences were found between male and female students regarding knowledge of CVD risk factors such as smoking (p-value = 0.003). Similarly, significant differences were observed between male and female students heart health behavior such as cholesterol checkup (31.7% vs. 16.2%, p-value = 0.032), use of soft drinks (48.3% vs 20%, p-value = 0.001) and physical activity (90% vs. 71.2%, p-value = 0.007). Conclusion: First-year medical students have good knowledge of CVD risk factors but the behavior, regarding practice to avoid these risk factors, needs improvement. It was also observed by comparison that male students have more knowledge of heart disease risk factors as compared to female students.

Objective: To assess the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine among medical and non-medical undergraduate students and compare the COVID-19 vaccine receptivity differences between medical and non-medical undergraduate students. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Bahria University Medical & Dental College, and Bahria University Karachi Campus Pakistan, from Mar to Jun 2021. Methodology: In this study, a total of 392 participants, were selected by non-probability convenience sampling. Students aged 19-26 years were enrolled. Participants were required to sign a voluntary consent form prior to participation. The questionnaire included 21 questions inclusive of demographic characteristics, insight regarding COVID-19 disease, prior EPI vaccine exposure, attitude towards COVID-19 vaccine, including the importance of vaccine to end the pandemic, acceptance of vaccine along with reasons and non-acceptance and sent by email as a Google form to participants. Results: There were 171(43.6%) males and females 218(55.6%). The mean age of participants was 20.7±2.29 years. 217(55.4%) students were from the MBBS programs, and 175(44.6%) were from non-MBBS programs. COVID-19 vaccine acceptability was better amongst medical students, with 182(83.9%) considering it safe for use in contrast to 5(2.8%) non-medical students who considered it safe. Conclusion: The comparison of knowledge and attitudes towards accepting the COVID-19 vaccine between medical students and non-medical students revealed better acceptance amongst undergraduate medical students than non-medical undergraduate students.

The present study encompasses the ethnomedicinal consumption of Corchorus depressus (L.) C.Chr. (C. depressus) for diabetes. Samples were subjected to LC-ESI-MS analyses. The n-hexane, methanolic and water extracts were screened for α-glucosidase inhibition and in vivo anti-diabetic studies. Further, antioxidant (DPPH) and anti-inflammatory study was performed via luminol-enhanced chemi-luminescence assay. The identified compounds were docked against the target enzymes of diabetes. The n-hexane fraction (CD-J1) showed IC50 of 8.4 ± 0.1 µg/mL against α-glucosidase enzyme. The sub fractions CD-12 and CD-13 of CD-J1 obtained after flash column chromatography displayed further reduced IC50 values of 4.3 ± 0.1 and 6.3 ± 0.1, respectively, as compared with standard drug acarbose (IC50 values of 37.5 ± 0.2 µg/mL). Simultaneously, dereplication of most active sub-fraction CD-12 by LC-ESI-MS led to the identification of strophanthidin and some other active metabolites responsible for anti-diabetic activity. Molecular docking of strophanthidin with α-glucosidase and α-amylase revealed high affinity for these target enzymes.

As time passes, the world is facing the problem of global warming, which results in a rise in average daily temperature. Proper knowledge of temperature distribution and future prediction may help to cope with the situation in the near future. Climate forecasting has gone through various faces; in the early days’ people used to predict the behavior qualitatively. Now environmental scientists have developed a quantitative method for forest climate behavior with certain uncertainties. Empirical models have been developed based on regression analysis to estimate temperature distribution. Two models, linear and non linear, use dew point temperature and relative humidity as independent variables. In addition to regression analysis, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) has been utilized to predict the average daily temperatures of Rohri Sindh, a city in Pakistan in the Sindh province. Both empirical models and ANN estimates are in good agreement with the known values of average daily temperatures.

The Beetal goat or Lahori goat is a breed from the Punjab region of Pakistan and India. It is used for milk and meat production. It is similar to the Jamnapari goat and the Malabari goat. Beetal goats have been widely used for improvement of local goats throughout the subcontinent. These goats are also adapted to stall feeding, thus are preferred for intensive goat farming. The Beetal goat and the Malabari goats are usually compared for their body characteristics. The objective of the study was to determine the effectiveness of beetal goat reproduction under different management techniques. Based on reproductive effectiveness and growth parameters, the results of two goat production management systems, namely (1) seasonal breeding and (2) year-round breeding, were compared. The study was performed out during a one-year period. The data was collected from two farms for this study, the 1st farm was the private farm known as Noor-Hussain Goat Farm in Raiwind and 2nd farm was Bahadurnagar Research Institute in Okara which is run by the government. Adult goats (n=72+) were collected for this study and their reproductive and productive traits were examined (2-bucks with each flock).

Purpose This study aims to provide the current and future state of United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the higher education institutions (HEIs). Since the SDGs’ proliferation, HEIs have played a crucial part in meeting the goals. Despite the central role of HEIs in accomplishing the SDGs, there has been little attention in providing a comprehensive overview of the SDGs in relation to HEIs. Design/methodology/approach A total of 280 publications in the Web of Science database were analyzed through a bibliometric approach consisting of citation analysis, co-citation analysis and co-occurrence of keywords analysis. This review explores the current state of SDGs, its central themes of research streams and predicts future direction in the context of HEIs. Findings The findings would assist stakeholders to strategize the SDGs on HEIs, including the government and policymakers, university top management, benefactors and academics. Three main research streams were observed sustainable curriculum; challenges and barriers of SDGs; and COVID-19 and health management. Research limitations/implications Implications suggest that to achieve the stipulated goals in the SDGs, proper planning and strategy should be aligned proportionate to the national agenda. Originality/value This paper presents a novel knowledge structure by mapping the most relevant SDGs in the context of HEIs based on bibliometric analysis.

News headlines have great importance because they represent the issues and facts tersely. These also present the importance of every major and minor issue in the society by highlighting them in a sophisticated and presentable manner. This research critically analyses the news headlines taken from three Pakistani news channels. The chief concern of this research is to discover the role of news headlines in highlighting the society, to find out the figurative devices, and to evaluate how these channels report and transmit the same issue in a different way according to the need of their respective interest.

Background: Febrile seizures are one of the most common types of seizure in children, affecting 2% to 5% of all neurologically healthy infants and children. Since fever can exacerbate the symptoms resulting from anemia, relationship between iron deficiency anemia and febrile seizure can be the main cause. Objective: To determine the relationship between 1st episode of febrile seizures in iron deficient children aged from six months to five years. Methods: This case control study was performed in Pediatrics department of King Edward Medical College in the duration of six months from January 2014 to June 2014. Two hundred and fifty patients of either sex, aged between 6-60 months, with first episode of febrile seizures were enrolled by non-probability convenient sampling. After obtaining demographic and clinical data, 125 children served as cases (Fever with seizures) while 125 children served as control (Fever with seizures). Hb, MCV, and MCHC, serum ferritin level of both cases and control was determined. Data was analyzed using SPSS 20. Odds ratio was found to find out the significant association between iron deficiency anemia and seizures episode in both groups. An odds ratio >1 was considered as significant. Results: Iron deficiency anemia was present in 80(32%). Out of 125(50%), 34(27%) cases and 46(36.8%) controls have normal iron levels. There were 91(72.8%) of cases and 79(63.2%) of control who had low levels of iron in blood. The odds-ratio came out to be 1.55. Conclusion: Considerable association was found of febrile convulsions in iron deficient growing age children. This predicts anemia as an important predictor of fever fit.

This study investigates the influences of extrinsic motivating factors on employees' work performance in banking sectors in Malaysia when the psychological ownership act as mediating effect existed. Generally, this study analyses three independent variables, categorized as extrinsic (working condition, job security, and company policy) motivating factors on the dependent variable of employees' work performance when psychological ownership acts as a mediating effect in banking sectors in Malaysia. This study was conducted to determine employee work performance issues, namely, poor service quality, poor communication, high employee turnover, and work-related stress in Malaysian banking sectors. The research tools used in this study were personal distribution and online mail questionnaires. A total of 3700 frontline employees were selected for the questionnaire, but only 370 respondents are fit for further analysis. The survey data was gathered within a one-month duration. The findings revealed that work conditions and company policy have a significant favourable influence on psychological ownership. The following results show that psychological ownership positively mediates the relationship between company policy and work conditions with work performance. A theoretical framework has been constructed based on Herzberg's Theory of hygiene factors used in this research. The outcome of this study would help bank management introduce practical strategies for improving the employees' work performance which leads to business growth.
