Background and Objective(s) Mothers’ sociodemographic characteristics, nutrition status and food diversity are important determinants of acute and chronic malnutrition in children less than five years. Therefore, the study aimed to explore the maternal characteristics as risk factors of coexisted severe acute and chronic malnutrition in children of age 6 – 59 months. Methods The cross-sectional analytical study included children (n=70) who attended the hospital for wasting during September 2022 to February 2023 and their mothers (n=70). Using the WHO child growth standards, children were categorized into moderately and severely wasted, stunted and underweight. Crosstabs analyses and binary logistic regression performed to assess maternal characteristics as risk factors of acute and chronic malnutrition in children. Results Mean age was 13.3±11.5 (range 6-42 months). The participation of males was higher than females (55.7 vs. 44.3%). The frequency of coexisted severe acute and chronic malnutrition was (71.4%). Young mothers [aOR = 2.299, 95% CI 0.670-7.891], working mothers [aOR = 3.638, 95% CI 0.369-35.895], mothers with no kitchen autonomy [aOR = 1.345, 95% CI 0.421-4.301] and mothers with inadequate food diversity [aOR = 1.301, 95% CI 0.296-5.722] had higher risk of coexisted severe acute and chronic malnutrition in children. Conclusion(s) The children who attended the hospital for wasting also had a high burden of stunting. Mothers’ young age, working status, no autonomy and inadequate food diversity demonstrated higher risk of coexisted severe acute and chronic malnutrition in children.

Purpose: Over the past few decades, there has been an increasing interest in understanding the relationship between trade liberalization and gender inequality in developing countries. In Pakistan, due to its social, demographic, cultural and economic problems, gender disparity in education (GDE) is still prevalent. This study examines the impact of trade reforms on gender disparity in education using micro data from Pakistan. Design/Methodology/Approach: The feasible generalized least-squares (FGLS) method is employed for empirical analysis. We used panel corrected standard errors (PCSEs) for robustness checks. Findings: The analysis reveals that a reduction in import tariffs is associated with GDE. Trade liberalization gives rise to gender disparities. We added several control variables to the baseline model for robustness checks. Regarding the control variables, average family wage income, family size, urbanization, female-to-male labor force participation and the female share of the total labor force are identified as important determinants of GDE in Pakistan. Originality or Value: This study contributes to the existing literature by studying the relationship between trade liberalization and gender disparity in education in Pakistan and employing a better measure of reductions in import tariffs for trade liberalization. We construct a provincial liberalization index. Second, this study takes into account the whole trade regime as a sample period (i.e., from 1990-2005) to assess the impacts of the trade regime as protection rates significantly reduced through this regime. Third, we measure the gender gap in education by comparing males and females' average years of schooling as opposed to previous studies that used secondary school enrolment ratios as a proxy for the gender gap in education. Fourth, we used panel data to explore the impact of trade liberalization on gender disparity in education for empirical analysis.

Background. Tuberculosis (TB) coinfection in human immunodeficiency virus- (HIV-) infected patients is considered a risk of antiretroviral therapy (ART) failure. Coadministration of antitubercular therapy (ATT) with ART is another challenge for TB management. Objective. The study was aimed at investigating contributing factors affecting treatment outcomes in HIV-/TB-coinfected patients. Design. Cross-sectional. Setting. Samples were collected from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital Islamabad. Subject and Methods. Clinicodemographic and immunovirological factors between the two groups were compared. The Student t -test and chi-square test were applied to compare outcome variables, and logistic regression was applied to determine the effect of TB on virological failure (VF). Main Outcome Measures. TB coinfection did not increase VF even in univariate ( p = 0.974 ) and multivariate analysis at 6 and 12 months of 2nd-line ART start. ARV switching was significant ( p = 0.033 ) in TB-coinfected patients. VF was significantly high in ATT-coadministered patients along with a viral load of ≥1000 ( p = 0.000 ). Sample Size and Characteristics. We recruited seventy-four HIV patients on 2nd-line ART; 33 coinfected with TB were followed for at least 12 months. Conclusion. In HIV-/TB-coinfected patients, CD4 count, CD4 gain, and VF remained comparable to HIV patients with no TB infection. ATT significantly affects the treatment outcome, suggesting drug-to-drug interactions. These factors are important to revisit the therapeutic guidelines to maximize the benefit of dual therapy in resource-limited settings.

Paraphrase detection systems uncover the relationship between two text fragments and classify them as paraphrased when they convey the same idea; otherwise non-paraphrased. Previously, the researchers have mainly focused on developing resources for the English language for paraphrase detection. There have been very few efforts for paraphrase detection in South Asian languages. However, no research has been conducted on sentence-level paraphrase detection in Urdu, a low-resourced language. It is mainly due to the unavailability of the corpora that focus on the sentence level. The available related studies on the Urdu language only focus on text reuse detection tasks at the passage and document levels. Therefore, this study aims to develop a large-scale manually annotated benchmark Urdu paraphrase detection corpus at the sentence level, based on real cases from journalism. The proposed Urdu Sentential Paraphrases (USP) corpus contains 4,900 sentences (2,941 paraphrased and 1,959 non-paraphrased), manually collected from the Urdu newspapers. Moreover, several techniques were proposed, developed, and compared as a secondary contribution, including Word Embedding (WE), Sentence Transformers (ST), and feature-fusion techniques. N-gram is treated as the baseline technique for our research. The experimental results indicate that our proposed feature-fusion technique is the most suitable for the Urdu paraphrase detection task. Furthermore, the performance increases when features of the proposed (ST) and baseline (N-gram) are combined for the classification task. In addition, The proposed techniques have also been applied to the UPPC corpus to check their performance at the document level. The best result we obtained using the feature fusion technique ( F 1 = 0.855). Our corpus is available and free to download for research purposes.

Functional polymers has great importance in the field of electrochemical sensing and biosensors due to adaptable chemical, electrical, and structural features, functional polymers are a significant class of materials that have been extensively used to create electrochemical biosensors. Additionally, conducting polymers can be made nanostructured, functional group-grafted chemically, or combined with other functional materials, like nanoparticles, to significantly enhance the sensitivity, selectivity, stability, and reproducibility of the biosensor's response to a variety of bioanalytes. Since these biosensors offer benefits such being affordable and having a low detection limit, they are anticipated to play an increasingly important role in providing diagnostic information and monitoring therapy. Because of this, this article begins with a description of the electroanalytical techniques (amperometry, potentiometry, conductometry, impedometry, voltammetry) used in electrochemical biosensors, and then moves on to a review of recent developments in the use of conducting polymers in the identification of bioanalytes that led to the development of enzyme-based biosensors, immunosensors, DNA biosensors, and whole-cell biosensors.

Drug solubility plays a significant role in the successful therapeutic formulation. The objective of this work is enhancing the water solubility of Puerarin. We successfully synthesized a novel crystalline phase co-crystal of Puerarin (PUE) with L-pyroglutamic acid (PG) via recrystallization method and characterized by various solid-state characterization techniques. PXRD pattern shows the crystallinity phase co-crystal. The DSC analysis of co-crystal shows change in the thermal behavior compared with a pure form of PUE and PG. The FT-IR analysis shows change in the functional group frequency due to H-bonding interaction between PUE and PG molecule. The solubility of Pure PUE and co-crystal investigated in Pure water, pH 6.8 phosphate buffer solution and pH 1.2 acidic medium. co-crystal reveals improved solubility when compared with pure form of PUE. The time-dependent in vitro dissolution rate of co-crystal was more significant compared to the pure commercial form of PUE, demonstrating that co-crystal could be used as a useful product for pharmaceutical formulation with enhance properties. Resumen. La solubilidad de un fármaco juega un papel importante en su formulación farmacútica final. El objetivo de este trabajo es incrementar la solubilidad acuosa del compuesto puerarina. En este sentido, reportamos la síntesis de una nueva matriz cristalina, formada a través de la recristalización de una mezcla de puerarina (PUE) y ácido L-piroglutámico (PG). El patron de análisis DSC del co-cristal mostró un cambio términco comparado con PUE y PG puros. El análisis detallado del co-cristal por medio de infrarrojo (FT-IR) mostró un cambio en la fecuancia de absorción en la región característica de enlaces de hidrógeno entre PUE y PG. Comparamos la solubilidad de una muestra pura de PUE y la de una muestra del co-cristal en agua, en un buffer de fosfátos pH 6.8, y en medio acídico a pH 1.2. La muestra del co-cristal mostró un aumento significativo en la solubilidad acuosa, comparada con la de PUE en todos los medios. Además, el perfil de disolución de una mestra del co-cristal fue significativamente mayor que el perfil de disolución de PUE, demostrando que esta forma de co-cristalización es un procedimiento altamente efectivo para incrementar la solubilidad acuosa de PUE.

OBJECTIVES Postoperative delirium (POD) is a serious complication after cardiac surgery. Use of dexmedetomidine infusion to prevent delirium is controversial. We hypothesized that dexmedetomidine sedation after cardiac surgery would reduce the incidence of POD.METHODOLOGY After the approval from institutional ethics review board and informed consent, a comparative cross sectional study was conducted in 100 patients scheduled for cardiac surgery. Patients suffering from consequential psychological issues, delirium, and grievous dementia were excluded. Delirium was evaluated by confusion assessment method for ICU (CAM-ICU). Normality and homogenity of data were analyzed using Kolmogorov-Sminorv and saphiro wilk. The factors related to delirum status were analyzed using Logistic Regression.RESULTSThe mean age among propofol group was 55.14+9.6 while among Dexmedetomidine was 55.96+12.1. POD was present in 24 of 50 (48%) and 4 of 50 (8.%) patients in propofol and dexmedetomidine groups, respectively. variables which had significance values

Purpose: This study examines the impact of trade liberalization (TL) on female labor force participation (FLFP) during the trade regime period in Pakistan, using sectoral panel data of the manufacturing sector for the period of 1990-2005. Design/Methodology/Approach: We employed panel fixed effects (FEM) and Instrumental-variable (IV) regression models for empirical analysis. Findings: Our study reveals that trade liberalization and FLFP are associated. Trade liberalization increases FLFP in the manufacturing sector. The results of both measures of FLFP (i.e., the share of female employment, and female-to-male ratio) verify each other findings. Our findings are robust to the inclusion of various control variables. Furthermore, our IV analysis also confirms that liberalization has given rise to female employment in the manufacturing sector. Our policy implication is that the government should liberalize trade sectors that can help to enhance FLFP. Originality/Value: This study adds to the existing literature by exploring the association between TL and FLFP in the manufacturing sector of Pakistan by utilizing a better proxy of reductions in import tariffs for TL. The reduction of import tariffs is a policy-based measure that captures the pure impacts of trade policy as compared to outcome-based measures (i.e., trade ratios). We also consider the whole trade regime as a sample period (i.e., from 1990-2005) to examine the core impacts of the trade regime, as import tariffs drastically reduced during this period. Furthermore, we use two measures of FLFP for the analysis, i.e., the share of female employment, and the female-to-male ratio. Lastly, our use of sectoral panel data strengthens the empirical analysis.

Airfoils (NACA 4412-2412 T.E. mod, NACA 2412-4412 T.E. mod, NACA 4412-2412 L.E. mod, NACA 2412-4412 L.E. mod), angle of attack (0, 2, 4, 6), and pitch angle (0, 1, 2, 3) are the parameter variations used. The simulation method uses BEM (Blade Element Momentum), and the Taguchi for optimization is based on the L16 orthogonal array matrix. The ANOVA has to determine the contribution of each parameter to the HAWT power generated. Simulation and optimization results show that the most optimal parameter was a NACA airfoil 4412-2412 L.E mod, at 0˚ angle of attack and 0˚ pitch angle, with the resulting power reaching 1015780 Watt. The ANOVA analysis shows the airfoil parameter has the greatest contribution to the rotor power of the HAWT compared to the angle of attack and pitch angle.

As the usage of digital money or plastic money grows in developing nations, so does the risk of fraud. To counter these scams, we need a sophisticated fraud detection method that not only identifies the fraud but also detects it before it occurs efficiently. We have introduced the notion of credit card fraud and its many variants in this research. Numerous ML fraud detection approaches are studied in this paper including Principal Component Analysis (PCA) data mining and the Fuzzy C-Means methodologies, as well as the Logistic Regression (LR), Decision Tree (DT), and Naive Bayes (NB) algorithms. The existing and proposed models for credit card fraud detection have been thoroughly reviewed, and these strategies have been compared using quantitative metrics including accuracy rate and characteristics curves. This paper discusses the shortcomings of existing models and proposes an efficient technique to analyze the fraud detection.

Theories and practices related to preventing radicalism, extremism that leads to terrorism offer different intangible measures to combat such acts. The National Action Plan to Prevent and Combat Extremism (RAN-PE) as part of achieving national goals; of protecting the homeland of Indonesia’s, and participating in the achievement of world order. The purpose of this study is to determine public views on violent extremism (VE) as well as public perception and public trust toward the RAN-PE policy. In addition, this study also identifies the empirical relationship between the public perception of the VE variable and public trust under the RAN-PE policy. We conducted a survey to examine the influence of perception on the level of trust toward the government in relation to the RAN-PE policy and used Spearman’s rho in the non-parametric analysis to determine the correlation between variables. The findings showed that public perception can predict the level of trust toward the government’s implementation of policies to combat extremism, radicalism, and terrorism.

Therefore, we in this research paper propose an adaptive smartphone learning framework. The framework first considers students’ academic performance, preferred learning content, and memory load i.e., cognitive characteristics. Based on students’ academic performance, preferred learning content, and memory load, appropriate adaptive and motivational triggers are sent on students’ smartphones to guide and motivate them in their learning process. We have introduced ten types of adaptive triggers that in different scenarios will be presented to students to help them in remembering important learning points. Furthermore, performance-based motivational triggers in connection with adaptive triggers are also introduced. These motivational triggers are sent on students’ smartphones for giving them a suggestion, hope, appreciation, and warnings during their studies. Multi-temporal glacier inventories provide key information about the glaciers, their characteristics, and changes and are inevitable for glacier modelling and investigating geodetic mass changes. However, to date, no consistent multi-temporal glacier inventory for the whole of the Karakoram exists, negatively affecting the monitoring of spatio-temporal variations in glaciers' geometric parameters and their related applications. We used a semi-automatic method combining automatic segmentation and manual correction and produced a multi-temporal Karakoram glacier inventory (KGI) compiled from Landsat TM/ETM+/OLI (Thematic Mapper, Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus, and Operational Land Imager) images for the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s. Our assessments using independent multiple digitisation of 37 glaciers show that the KGI is sufficiently accurate, with an overall uncertainty of ±3.68 %. We also performed uncertainty evaluation for the contiguous glacier polygons using a buffer of half a pixel, which resulted in an average mapping uncertainty of ±5.21 %. We calculated more than 20 attributes for each glacier, including coordinates, area, supraglacial debris area, date information, and topographic parameters derived from the ASTER GDEM (Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer global digital elevation model). According to KGI-2020s, approximately 10 500 alpine glaciers (>0.01 km2 each) cover an area of 22 510±828 km2 of which 10.18±0.38 % (2290±84 km2) is covered by supraglacial debris. Over the past 3 decades, the glaciers experienced a loss of clean ice and/or snow area but a gain in supraglacial debris. Supraglacial debris cover has increased by 17.63±1.44 % (343.30±27.95 km2), while non-debris-covered glaciers decreased by 1.56±0.24 % (319.85±49.92 km2). The total glacier area was relatively stable and showed only a slight insignificant increase of 23.45±28.85 km2 (0.10±0.13 %). The glacier area has declined by 3.27±0.24 % in the eastern Karakoram, while the glacier area slightly increased in central (0.65±0.10 %) and western Karakoram (1.26±0.11 %). Supraglacial debris has increased over the whole of Karakoram, especially in areas above 4200 m a.s.l. (above sea level), showing an upward shift. The glacier area changes were characterised by strong spatial heterogeneity, influenced by surging and advancing glaciers. However, due to global warming, the glaciers are on average retreating. This is in particular true for small and debris-free glaciers. This study evaluated the performance and hydrologic utility of four different satellite precipitation datasets (SPDs), including GPM (IMERG_F), PERSIANN_CDR, CHIRPS, and CMORPH, to predict daily streamflow and SL using the SWAT hydrological model as well as SWAT coupled soft computing models (SCMs) such as artificial neural networks (SWAT-ANNs), random forests (SWAT-RFs), and support vector regression (SWAT-SVR), in the mountainous Upper Jhelum River Basin (UJRB), Pakistan. SCMs were developed using the outputs of un-calibrated SWAT models to improve the predictions. Overall, the GPM shows the highest performance for the entire simulation with R2 and PBIAS varying from 0.71 to 0.96 and −13.1 to 0.01%, respectively. For the best GPM-based models, SWAT-RF showed a superior ability to simulate the entire streamflow with R2 of 0.96, compared with the SWAT-ANN (R2 = 0.90), SWAT-SVR (R2 = 0.87), and SWAT-CUP (R2 = 0.71). Similarly, SWAT-ANN presented the best performance capability to simulate the SL with an R2 of 0.71, compared with the SWAT-RF (R2 = 0.66), SWAT-SVR (R2 = 0.52), and SWAT-CUP (R2 = 0.42). Hence, hydrological coupled SCMs based on SPDs could be an effective technique for simulating hydrological parameters, particularly in complex terrain where gauge network density is low or uneven.

Patients and Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out on surgically treated and radiologically confirmed 360 HCC cases in Gastroenterology Department of Central Hospital, Sargodha and Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar, during the period from January 2022 June 2022. Study protocol was approved by the research and ethical committee. Informed written consents were taken from each individual. Tracheostomy has been considered the best life-saving procedure. Objective: To determine the impact of tracheostomy care intervention on self-care and assess level of anxiety. Methods: A crass sectional study was conducted on 34 patient’s takins from ENT and Patients age limit between 18 to 50 years, educational status was primary, metric and above, OPD patients, inpatients were included. Data were gathered using a standardized questionnaire on the evaluation of tracheostomy self-care. The SPSS version used to enter and evaluate the data. 21.0. The Chi-square test was used to determine whether there was a significant relationship between the patients; a p-value of 0.05 was deemed significant. Results: Total 34 participants enrolled in current study. 37.1% were 41 -50 years old. 60% of participant’s were male. Majority (76.4%) of the patients have poor self-care knowledge regarding tracheostomy care. Only 14.7% patients gave good self-care knowledge. majority of participant’s responses haven poor self-care. The older patients 41 to 50 years, female and primary education patients have poor self-care knowledge. Conclusions: After tracheostomy procedure it is very important to maintain self-care and avoid to infection. It is concluded from this study that self-care not good on their evaluation, education intervention to enhance on self-care and reduced the level of anxiety for patients with tracheostomy at home.

Energy scarcity is the core drain for the South Asian economies. However, there is a lack of studies in relation to the capital structure determinants in the context of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). Thus, this study is an attempt to explore the capital structure determinants of energy sector firms which are operating in the four large economies of the SAARC region that are Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. In this context, a total of 34 energy sector firms’ Panel Data is entailed over the period of 2007-2020. The six key capital structure determinants, namely asset tangibility, current ratio, return on equity, non-debt tax shield, annual gross domestic product are examined in relation to debt to total asset ratio. Deploying Panel Data Static models and Dynamic model via Generalized Method of Moments (GMM), the outcomes reveal that asset tangibility and current ratio are the most prominent determinants among all others. The significant role of profitability and tangibility through different estimators directly infers the relevance of Dynamic Trade-Off theory. The findings provide new ways for policy makers to construct parallel strategies which not only help out in overcoming the energy scarcity issues but also enhance regional level integration.

Drought stress (DS) challenges sustainable agriculture production by limiting crop growth and development. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of melatonin-priming on enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidant defense mechanisms and its relation with leaf ultrastructure and stomatal traits in maize (Zea mays L) seedlings under DS (PEG-6000). DS drastically decreased seed germination, plant growth, and leaf chlorophyll content due to excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. Melatonin-priming significantly (P < 0.05) increased seed germination, root length, shoot length, fresh seedling weight, proline content, total soluble protein content, sugar content, chlorophyll content, and stomatal aperture size by 101%, 30%, 133%, 51%, 22%, 59%, 54%, 20%, and 424%, compared to no priming (NP) under DS, respectively. Similarly, priming improved leaf ultrastructure and reduced the amount of chlorophyll loss and oxidative damage in maize seedlings. Melatonin seed priming with 500 µM melatonin (M2) greatly increased superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT), glutathione, and ascorbate (AsA) activity, by 65%, 63%, 94%, 41%, and 55% compared to NP under DS and by 0.26%, 8%, 33%, 42%, and 15% under no-stress (NS), respectively. Melatonin-priming also reduced malondialdehyde content, electrolyte leakage, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) content, and superoxide anion (O2−) content by 26%, 31%, 31%, and 33% compared to NP under DS and by 8%, 18%, 10%, and 11% under NS, respectively. In response to DS, melatonin-priming also stabilized the chloroplast structure, sustained cell expansion, protected cell walls, and greatly improved stomatal traits, including stomatal number, length, and width. Our results suggest that melatonin-priming improves drought tolerance in maize seedlings by alleviating the negative effect of ROS.

The current study investigates the impact of economic stress (measured by the unemployment rate and inflation rate) on divorce rates using Chinese province-level panel data from 2010 to 2019. Design/Methodology/Approach: The panel fixed effects (FE) model, panel random effects (RE) model, and fixed effects- Driscoll and Kraay standard errors (DKSE) model were used for empirical analysis. Findings: The research findings support the hypothesized economic stress theory of divorce by Reuben Hill. According to the empirical findings, economic stress indicators such as unemployment and inflation have a positive and significant impact on the divorce rate in China and its regions. Furthermore, urbanization, education and mobile phone variables have a positive relationship with divorce rates except for children’s dependency. Contribution to literature: Taking into account both parties' perspectives, this study contributes to the existing literature by looking at economic stress in the context of divorce. We are particularly interested in how economic stress affected the marriage relationship's quality. We investigated the relationship between the unemployment rate, inflation rate and divorce rate in China's 31 provinces for the period 2010-2019. The entire sample is then separated into three sub-samples: Eastern China, Central China and Western China.

Motorcycle accident studies usually rely upon data collected from road accidents collected through questionnaire surveys/police reports including characteristics of motorcycle riders and contextual data such as road environment. The present study utilizes big data, in the form of vehicle trajectory patterns collected through GPS, coupled with self-reported road accident information along with motorcycle rider characteristics to predict the likelihood of involvement of a motorcyclist in an accident. Random Forest-based machine learning algorithm is employed by taking inputs based on a variety of features derived from trajectory data. These features are mobility-based features, acceleration event-based features, aggressive overtaking event-based features and motorcyclists socio-economic features. Additionally, the relative importance of features is also determined which shows that aggressive overtaking event-based features have more impact on motorcycle accidents as compared to other categories of features. The developed model is useful in identifying risky motorcyclists and implementing safety measures focused towards them.

Herding behavior generally occurs in developing markets and emerging markets. The condition of a capital market in a bullish or bearish state coupled with information asymmetry between investors will cause an increase in herding behavior phenomena. The phenomenon of herding behavior occurs when investors follow a crowd's behavior at a certain period and ignore their beliefs. Herding behavior explains the tendency of investor behavior to follow the behavior of other investors in the capital market. The study aims to analyze the herding behavior in the general, bearish, and bullish market conditions in the Indonesian capital market for the 2021- 2022 period. This research is quantitative research based on the formulation of the problem. This research is classified as associative research. The data used is secondary data in the form of monthly data from LQ45 for 2021-2022. The analysis was carried out in two stages: 1) crosssectional absolute deviation (CSAD) was used to determine to herd. 2) Multiple linear regression analysis with three market conditions: general, bearish, and bullish. The results showed that the general market and bearish market conditions explained the herding behavior in the Indonesian capital market for the 2021-2022 period, while for bullish market conditions, there was no herding behavior in the Indonesian capital market for the 2021-2022 period. Investors should still conduct fundamental and technical analysis before making investment decisions during bullish and bearish market conditions in the Indonesian capital market.

This study analyzes the government's role in collecting zakat funds in Indonesia based on Yusuf Qaradawi’s thought in his Fiqh al-Zakah. The study uses descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Government policies in collecting zakat funds need to be revitalized because the results obtained are still far from the set targets. The government must issue new policies so that the efficient collection of zakat can help the country and achieve benefits of its people. To achieve this goal, Yusuf Qardhawi offers several policies for the government, evaluating the amendments to zakat management regulations. In the book of fiqh al-zakah, Yusuf Qardhawi emphasizes that the govern-ment not only focuses on voluntary zakat but also pays attention to paying zakat physically and men-tally. The government must collect zakat from material (al-a'yan) owned by Muslims. Furthermore, the government must also deduct or collect zakat directly from the savings of the Muslim community in banks if they have reached the nisab and haul. This is done to achieve the potential target of zakat in Indonesia. In addition, the government also helps people to abort their obligations as Muslims. With this policy, Yusuf Qardhawi believes that the collection of zakat can run well and efficiently so that it has a real impact on the nation in general and Muslims.

Objectives: This study aimed to compare the dynamic balance between flat feet and normal athletes using Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT). Research Design: This was a Cross-sectional comparative study. Method: Total 58 athletes, 29 subjects with flat feet (assessed by Sit to Stand Navicular Drop Test) and 29 subjects with normal feet were selected. Both male and female athletes of age group 18-30 years were included. Sit to Stand Navicular Drop Test, Calcaneum Angle, the width of the foot, great toe extension range of motion and Stat Excursion Balance Test (SEBT) were the outcomes that were assessed in the study. Data analysis: Unpaired t-test using the Graph Pad Instat software system was used. Results: Significant mean differences in Sit to Stand Navicular Drop Test, Calcaneum Angle, the width of the foot, great toe extension range of motion, and SEBT were found in individuals with flat feet. The SEBT scores of normal arched feet (right leg: 75.50.2, left leg: 75.10.4) and flat feet (right: 78.12.3, left: 79.93.2) differed (p=0.001). Leadership is considered the main asset for organizational success, as it leads to the work-life satisfaction of employees. Since employees are the backbone of any organization, workforce analytics are also believed to be of paramount importance in this competitive world. This research aims to investigate the influence of leadership styles (autocratic, visionary, and ethical leadership) on work engagement. The framework of the study was underpinned with Theory X and Theory Y. Total of 191 finalized responses out of 250 were gathered from professionals working on leadership roles in national and multinational organizations of the beverages industry of Pakistan. SMARTPLS was used for analyzing the validity and reliability of constructs and hypothesis testing. All hypotheses were accepted which shows the significant relationships of the proposed framework of the study, except the relationship between autocratic leadership and work engagement along with its mediating correlation with organizational trust. In practical terms, the findings of this research will assist management and organization in enhancing their focus on policy-making based on the perspectives of professional workers.

Post-harvest treatment plays a significant role in extending the shelf life of fresh produce. This study was conducted with the aim to evaluate the efficacy of post-harvest 1-MCP and bee wax treatment on plum quality under cold storage condition (3±1oC, RH; 80-85%). Fruit were divided into 9 groups and subjected to different treatments i-e T0 (untreated) T1 (1-MCP 0.5µl/L), T2 (1-MCP 1µl/L), T3 (5% bee wax), T4 (10% bee wax), T5 (1-MCP 0.5µl/L+5% bee wax), T6 (1-MCP 0.5µl/L+10% bee wax), T7 (1-MCP 1µl/L+5% bee wax), and T8 (1-MCP 1µl/L+10% bee wax). Various physicochemical and sensory quality attributes were evaluated at 12 days intervals for 60 days. The results for the sample T8 revealed lowest decrease in ascorbic acid (10.15%), titratable acidity (15.05%), overall acceptability (34.52%) and lowest percent increase weight loss (2.71%), total soluble solid (18.40%), total sugar (19.49%), pH (11.63%).While T0 showed highest percent decrease in ascorbic acid (41.67%), titratable acidity (55.91%), overall acceptability (74.80%) and highest increase in percent weight loss (14.34%), total soluble solid (30.82%), total sugar (30.50%), pH (22.45%). Therefore, it could be concluded that T8 demonstrated good results for physicochemical and sensory characteristics during cold storage treatment. Furthermore, combination of 1-MCP and bee wax could be used to preserve the internal and external quality.
