1. Laparoscopy a Realistic Diagnostic and Theraputic Modality for Abdominal Trauma Our Experience of Laparoscopy in Abdominal Trauma : A Prospective Study

Abstract: Trauma is considered as one of the leading and preventable cause of death in young adults and its incidence is on a steady rise. Laparoscopy as an alternative has been used with great benefits, although the rate of nontherapeutic laparotomy still remains high. The present study was aimed for assessing the efficacy of laparoscopy in the cases of abdominal trauma of any kind and to assess the primary outcome as avoiding unnecessary laparotomy and secondary outcome in the terms of hospital stay and overall prognosis.  Materials and Methods: This study was conducted as a prospective interventional study on all abdominal trauma patients reporting at Trauma Centre, and Super Specialty Hospital, BHU, Varanasi from July, 2017 through June, 2019. All selected patients underwent the laparoscopic exploration if required then converted to laparotomy.  Result: Fifty-two patients with abdominal trauma considered and underwent laparoscopic exploration in 25 (48.9%) and converted to laparotomy in 27 (52.1%) patients. This lead to a reduction of non-therapeutic laparotomy in patients with abdominal trauma using diagnostic laparoscopy was up to 23%. However, laparotomy was avoided in 48.9% of cases. In our study, laparoscopy was 100% accurate in identifying the site and organ of injuries. The laparotomy group had significantly higher rates of SSI and chest infection (p.01). The mean length of hospital stay in the laparoscopy group was 4.72 days and in the laparotomy group was 9.81 days (p 0.001).  Conclusions: Laparoscopy seems a useful and safe tool for the management of hemodynamically stable patients with abdominal trauma of any kind and can reduce the risk of non-therapeutic laparotomy and its associated postoperative complications

Abstract: The COHERENT experiment located in Neutrino Alley at the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), has made the world's first two measurements of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS), on CsI and argon, using neutrinos produced at the SNS. The COHERENT collaboration continues to pursue CEvNS measurements on various targets as well as additional studies of inelastic neutrino-nucleus interactions, searches for accelerator-produced dark matter (DM) and physics beyond the Standard Model, using the uniquely high-quality and high-intensity neutrino source available at the SNS. This white paper describes primarily COHERENT's ongoing and near-future program at the SNS First Target Station (FTS). Abstract: Let G be a reductive p-adic group and let $\mathcal H (G)^{\mathfrak s}$ be a Bernstein block of the Hecke algebra of G. We consider two important topological completions of $\mathcal H (G)^{\mathfrak s}$: a direct summand $\mathcal S (G)^{\mathfrak s}$ of the Harish-Chandra–Schwartz algebra of G and a two-sided ideal $C_r^* (G)^{\mathfrak s}$ of the reduced $C^*$-algebra of G. These are useful for the study of all tempered smooth G-representations. We suppose that $\mathcal H (G)^{\mathfrak s}$ is Morita equivalent to an affine Hecke algebra $\mathcal H (\mathcal R,q)$ – as is known in many cases. The latter algebra also has a Schwartz completion $\mathcal S (\mathcal R,q)$ and a $C^*$-completion $C_r^* (\mathcal R,q)$, both defined in terms of the underlying root datum $\mathcal R$ and the parameters q. We prove that, under some mild conditions, a Morita equivalence $\mathcal H (G)^{\mathfrak s}\sim _M \mathcal H (\mathcal R,q)$ extends to Morita equivalences $\mathcal S (G)^{\mathfrak s}\sim _M \mathcal S (\mathcal R,q)$ and $C_r^* (G)^{\mathfrak s}\sim _M C_r^* (\mathcal R,q)$. We also check that our conditions are fulfilled in all known cases of such Morita equivalences between Hecke algebras. This is applied to compute the topological K-theory of the reduced $C^*$-algebra of a classical p-adic group.

Abstract: We present direct photon-hadron correlations in 200 GeV/A Au$+$Au, $d$$+$Au and $p$$+$$p$ collisions, for direct photon $p_T$ from 5--12 GeV/$c$, collected by the PHENIX Collaboration in the years from 2006 to 2011. We observe no significant modification of jet fragmentation in $d$$+$Au collisions, indicating that cold nuclear matter effects are small or absent. Hadrons carrying a large fraction of the quark's momentum are suppressed in Au$+$Au compared to $p$$+$$p$ and $d$$+$Au. As the momentum fraction decreases, the yield of hadrons in Au$+$Au increases to an excess over the yield in $p$$+$$p$ collisions. The excess is at large angles and at low hadron $p_T$ and is most pronounced for hadrons associated with lower momentum direct photons. Comparison to theoretical calculations suggests that the hadron excess arises from medium response to energy deposited by jets., Comment: 578 authors from 80 institutions, 11 pages, 7 figures, data from 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2011. v2 is version accepted for publication in Physical Review C. 9. Centrality and transverse momentum dependent suppression of $��(1S)$ and $��(2S)$ in p$-$Pb and Pb$-$Pb collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider

Abstract: Deconfined QCD matter in heavy-ion collisions has been a topic of paramount interest for many years. Quarkonia suppression in heavy-ion collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiments indicate the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) formation in such collisions. Recent experiments at LHC has given some indications of hot matter effect in asymmetric p$-$Pb nuclear collisions. Here, we employ a theoretical model to investigate the bottomonium suppression in Pb$-$Pb at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$, $5.02$ TeV, and in p$-$Pb at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5.02$ TeV center-of-mass energies under a QGP formation scenario. Our present formulation is based on a unified model consisting of suppression due to color screening, gluonic dissociation along with the collisional damping. Regeneration due to correlated $Q\bar Q$ pairs has also been taken into account in the current work. We obtain here the net bottomonium suppression in terms of survival probability under the combined effect of suppression plus regeneration in the deconfined QGP medium. We mainly concentrate here on the centrality, $N_\text{part}$ and transverse momentum, $(p_{t})$ dependence of $��(1S)$ and $ ��(2S)$ states suppression in Pb$-$Pb and p$-$Pb collisions at mid-rapidity. We compare our model predictions for $��(1S)$ and $��(2S)$ suppression to the corresponding experimental data obtained at the LHC. We find that the experimental observations on $p_t$ and $N_\text{part}$ dependent suppression agree reasonably well with our model predictions., 17 pages, 18 figures

Abstract: Millions of naira is been lost annually in organizations across Nigeria as a result of poor services been rendered to various clients in organizations, this is due to the facts that proper attendance management system is not in place in various organizations across the country. The management of staff's attendance record daily has become a difficult challenge. The effort required in generating monthly report and also knowing the cumulative numbers of staffs has become a major task as manual assessment produces errors, and also it is time consuming. For the stated reason, an effective electronic staff attendance system using fingerprint is introduced in this work. This system will take attendance electronically with the aid of a fingerprint scanner (fingerprint device) and the attendance records are stored in the application storage unit (database). Attendance is marked after staff identification. For identification of staff, a fingerprint scanner is used. This process eradicates the need for stationary materials for record keeping; this will eliminate the issues of impersonation. This paper proposes the use of fingerprint biometric system to eliminate the problem being faced by traditional paper and pencil attendance register being provided in organizations.

Abstract: Dengue fever (DF) is increasingly recognized as one of the world’s major vector borne diseases and causes significant morbidity & mortality in most tropical & subtropical countries of the world & had become the most common arboviral diseases of human. Dengue fever is endemic in most part of India & continues to be a public health concern. Dengue vector, human knowledge & human behavior each have been reported to play an important role in the transmission of the diseases. OBJECTIVES: 1. To determine the level of knowledge, attitude & practices regarding Dengue fever among nursing student. 2. To study the relationship of level of knowledge & attitude with preventive practices for dengue fever. METHOD & MATERIAL: A cross sectional study was carried out in nursing student of tertiary care hospital during September to October2012. A prestructured & selfadministered questionnaire was used to collect data regarding dengue fever knowledge, attitude & practices from nursing students. STATISTICAL ANALYSIS: Data was analyzed using SPSS version 20 statistical software. Appropriate statistical test was applied to calculate P-value. RESULT: Almost all the participants have heard of DF (94%), the media being the most quoted source of information. Nearly 80.6% participants were aware transmission of Dengue Fever is by mosquito bite. Practices based upon preventive measures were found to be predominantly focused towards prevention of mosquito bites rather than elimination of breeding places. CONCLUSION: Although the knowledge regarding DF & mosquito control measure was quite high among the nursing student but this knowledge was not put into practice.

14. $��(2S)$ enhancement in p-Pb collision as an indication of QGP formation at the LHC

Abstract: Proton-nucleus collisions serve as an important baseline for the understanding and interpretation of the nucleus-nucleus collisions. These collisions have been employed to characterize the cold nuclear matter effects at SPS and RHIC energies for the past several years, as it was thought that Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) is not formed in such collisions. However, at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), there seems a possibility that QGP is formed during proton-lead (p$-$Pb) collisions. In this work, we have derived an expression for gluon induced excitation of $J/��$ to $��(2S)$, using pNRQCD, and show that the relative enhancement of $��(2S)$ vis a vis $J/��$, especially at high $p_T$, gives further indication that the QGP is indeed formed in p$-$Pb collisions at the most central collisions at LHC energy. $J/��$ and $��(2S)$ suppression effects seen at ALICE are also qualitatively explained., 17 pages, 11 figures. Abstract: Standardizing the Methods for Breaking Seed Dormancy to Enhance Germination of Gloriosa superba Seeds Studies on imposing seed germination in glory lily revealed that the seeds scarifies by GA3 treatment method was recorded to be the best treatment with maximum germination of 17.6 ± 1.2 seeds within a minimum time interval. Treatments of GA3 not only break the seed dormancy, but also promote the growth of plant. So, the seed treatment can be recommended as a nursery practice. The aim of this study was to enhance the germination rate of G. superba seeds which have a very low germination rate under normal conditions. Chemical scarification was very efficient in breaking dormancy and promoting germination.

17. Temperature dependent formation-time approach for $��$ suppression at energies available at the CERN Large Hadraon Collider

Abstract: We present here a comprehensive model to describe the bottomonium suppression data obtained from the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV. We employ a quasiparticle model (QPM) equation of state for the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) expanding under Bjorken's scaling law. The current model includes the modification of the formation time based on the temperature of the QGP, color screening during bottomonium production, gluon induced dissociation and collisional damping due to the imaginary part of the potential between the $b\bar b$ pair. We propose a method for determining the temperature-dependent formation time of bottomonia using the solution of the time-independent Schr��dinger equation and compare it with another approach based on time-dependent Schr��dinger wave equation simulation. We find that these two independent methods based on different axioms give similar results for the formation time. Cold nuclear matter effects and feed-down from higher resonance states of $��$ have also been included in the present work. The suppression of the bottomonium states at mid rapidity is determined as a function of centrality. The results compare closely with the recent centrality-dependent suppression data at the energies available at the CERN LHC in the mid rapidity region., 14 pages, 14 figures. Abstract: Two-pion interferometry measurements in $d$$+$Au and Au$+$Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{{NN}}}=200$ GeV are used to extract and compare the Gaussian source radii R$_{{\rm out}}$, R$_{{\rm side}}$, and R$_{{\rm long}}$, which characterize the space-time extent of the emission sources. The comparisons, which are performed as a function of collision centrality and the mean transverse momentum for pion pairs, indicate strikingly similar patterns for the $d$$+$Au and Au$+$Au systems. They also indicate a linear dependence of R$_{{\rm side}}$ on the initial transverse geometric size $\bar{R}$, as well as a smaller freeze-out size for the $d$$+$Au system. These patterns point to the important role of final-state rescattering effects in the reaction dynamics of $d$$+$Au collisions., Comment: 522 authors, 8 pages, 5 figures, 1 table. Submitted to Phys. Abstract: Charged-pion-interferometry measurements were made with respect to the 2$^{\rm nd}$- and 3$^{\rm rd}$-order event plane for Au$+$Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200$ GeV. A strong azimuthal-angle dependence of the extracted Gaussian-source radii was observed with respect to both the 2$^{\rm nd}$- and 3$^{\rm rd}$-order event planes. The results for the 2$^{\rm nd}$-order dependence indicate that the initial eccentricity is reduced during the medium evolution, but not reversed in the final state, which is consistent with previous results. In contrast, the results for the 3$^{\rm rd}$-order dependence indicate that the initial triangular shape is significantly reduced and potentially reversed by the end of the medium evolution, and that the 3$^{\rm rd}$-order oscillations are largely dominated by the dynamical effects from triangular flow., Comment: 386 authors, 8 pages, 4 figures. Abstract: Existence and uniqueness of the solution of the Neumann problem for the Kohn-Laplacian on the Kor\'anyi ball of the Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}_n$ are discussed. Explicit representations of Green's type function (Neumann function) for the half space and Kor\'anyi ball in $\mathbb{H}_n$ for circular functions have been obtained. These functions are then used on above regions in $\mathbb{H}_n$ to solve the inhomogeneous Neumann boundary value problem for circular data.

Abstract: The standard model (SM) of particle physics is spectacularly successful, yet the measured value of the muon anomalous magnetic moment $(g-2)_\mu$ deviates from SM calculations by 3.6$\sigma$. Several theoretical models attribute this to the existence of a "dark photon," an additional U(1) gauge boson, which is weakly coupled to ordinary photons. The PHENIX experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider has searched for a dark photon, $U$, in $\pi^0,\eta \rightarrow \gamma e^+e^-$ decays and obtained upper limits of $\mathcal{O}(2\times10^{-6})$ on $U$-$\gamma$ mixing at 90% CL for the mass range $30, Comment: 580 authors, 9 pages, 5 figures. v2 includes recent BABAR results w/changed title and formatted for Phys. 24. Application of Rain Water Harvesting Scheme in Shimla Region

Abstract: Rainwater harvesting is an innovative and a suitable alternative approach of water supply that can be used by anyone. Rainwater harvesting captures, diverts, and stores rainwater for later use. It is a well known fact that during summer season there is a huge scarcity of water in northern regions of India and as such implementing rainwater harvesting would be beneficial because it would reduce demand on existing water supply reduces run-off, erosion, and also contamination of surface water. A rainwater harvesting system can range in size and complexity. All systems have basics components, which include a catchment surface, conveyance system, storage, distribution, and treatment. As such, we discuss in this paper about the prospects and possibilities of rainwater harvesting in Shimla region of Himachal Pradesh, which experience water shortages in summer periods due to increase in population and also climatic conditions. The result of our study shows that judicious storing of rain water all round the year and not only summer can be stored without incurring any significant losses. Further, the study shows that the sanitation water requirements for a family can be met for two months with storage of rainwater for one single month only. Further, the construction pattern of houses in Shimla (sloped roof structures) already provides an advantage in storing rainwater efficiently. The non-dimensional design parameters can be applied for any place which experiences a scarcity of water. The paper also presents a simple benefit-cost ratio for the designed rainwater harvesting system.

Abstract: Measurements of bottomonium production in heavy ion and $p$$+$$p$ collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) are presented. The inclusive yield of the three $��$ states, $��(1S+2S+3S)$, was measured in the PHENIX experiment via electron-positron decay pairs at midrapidity for Au$+$Au and $p$$+$$p$ collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200$ GeV. The $��(1S+2S+3S)\rightarrow e^+e^-$ differential cross section at midrapidity was found to be $B_{\rm ee} d��/dy =$ 108 $\pm$ 38 (stat) $\pm$ 15(syst) $\pm$ 11 (luminosity) pb in $p$$+$$p$ collisions. The nuclear modification factor in the 30\% most central Au$+$Au collisions indicates a suppression of the total $��$ state yield relative to the extrapolation from $p$$+$$p$ collision data. The suppression is consistent with measurements made by STAR at RHIC and at higher energies by the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider., 506 authors, 15 pages, 17 figures, and 7 tables. v3 is as accepted by Phys. Abstract: We report $e^\pm-\mu^\mp$ pair yield from charm decay measured between midrapidity electrons ($|\eta|0.5$ GeV/$c$) and forward rapidity muons ($1.41.0$ GeV/$c$) as a function of $\Delta\phi$ in both $p$$+$$p$ and in $d$+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200$ GeV. Comparing the $p$$+$$p$ results with several different models, we find the results are consistent with a total charm cross section $\sigma_{c\bar{c}} =$ 538 $\pm$ 46 (stat) $\pm$ 197 (data syst) $\pm$ 174 (model syst) $\mu$b. These generators also indicate that the back-to-back peak at $\Delta\phi = \pi$ is dominantly from the leading order contributions (gluon fusion), while higher order processes (flavor excitation and gluon splitting) contribute to the yield at all $\Delta\phi$. We observe a suppression in the pair yield per collision in $d$+Au. We find the pair yield suppression factor for $2.7, Comment: 449 authors, 14 pages, 11 figures, 2 tables. Submitted to Phys. Rev. Abstract: The transverse momentum (p_T) spectra and ratios of identified charged hadrons (\pi^+/-, K^+/-, p, p^bar) produced in sqrt(s_NN)=200 GeV Au+Au and d+Au collisions are reported in five different centrality classes for each collision species. The measurements of pions and protons are reported up to p_T=6 GeV/c (5 GeV/c), and the measurements of kaons are reported up to p_T=4 GeV/c (3.5 GeV/c) in Au+Au (d+Au) collisions. In the intermediate p_T region, between 2--5 GeV/c, a significant enhancement of baryon to meson ratios compared to those measured in p+p collisions is observed. This enhancement is present in both Au+Au and d+Au collisions, and increases as the collisions become more central. We compare a class of peripheral Au+Au collisions with a class of central d+Au collisions which have a comparable number of participating nucleons and binary nucleon-nucleon collisions. Abstract: The jet fragmentation function is measured with direct photon-hadron correlations in p+p and Au+Au collisions at √[s(NN)]=200 GeV. The p(T) of the photon is an excellent approximation to the initial p(T) of the jet and the ratio z(T)=p(T)(h)/p(T)(γ) is used as a proxy for the jet fragmentation function. A statistical subtraction is used to extract the direct photon-hadron yields in Au+Au collisions while a photon isolation cut is applied in p+p. I(AA), the ratio of hadron yield opposite the photon in Au+Au to that in p+p, indicates modification of the jet fragmentation function. Suppression, most likely due to energy loss in the medium, is seen at high z(T). The associated hadron yield at low z(T) is enhanced at large angles. Such a trend is expected from redistribution of the lost energy into increased production of low-momentum particles.

Abstract: Using the analytical solution derived by Muskat and Kuiper for unsteady flow to a well with negligible storage in a finite confined aquifer, an analytical solution for unsteady flow to a large-diameter well in a finite confined aquifer during pumping and recovery is obtained. Existence of a barrier boundary at a finite distance from the well has little influence on contribution of the well storage to pumping. The barrier boundary affects drawdown significantly. Well storage is not completely recovered in finite aquifer and there is a permanent drawdown in the initial piezometric surface consequent to an event of pumping.

Abstract: Heavy quarkonia are observed to be suppressed in relativistic heavy ion collisions relative to their production in p+p collisions scaled by the number of binary collisions. In order to determine if this suppression is related to color screening of these states in the produced medium, one needs to account for other nuclear modifications including those in cold nuclear matter. In this paper, we present new measurements from the PHENIX 2007 data set of J/psi yields at forward rapidity (1.2, Comment: 384 authors from 65 institutions, 13 pages, 10 figures, and 4 tables. Abstract: We report the first measurement of transverse single-spin asymmetries in $J/\psi$ production from transversely polarized $p+p$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 200$ GeV with data taken by the PHENIX experiment in 2006 and 2008. The measurement was performed over the rapidity ranges $1.2 < |y| < 2.2$ and $ |y| < 0.35$ for transverse momenta up to 6 GeV/$c$. $J/\psi$ production at RHIC is dominated by processes involving initial-state gluons, and transverse single-spin asymmetries of the $J/\psi$ can provide access to gluon dynamics within the nucleon. Such asymmetries may also shed light on the long-standing question in QCD of the $J/\psi$ production mechanism. Asymmetries were obtained as a function of $J/\psi$ transverse momentum and Feynman-$x$, with a value of $-0.086 \pm 0.026^{\rm stat} \pm 0.003^{\rm syst}$ in the forward region. This result suggests possible nonzero trigluon correlation functions in transversely polarized protons and, if well defined in this reaction, a nonzero gluon Sivers distribution function., Comment: 431 authors from 62 institutions, 13 pages, 5 figures, and 5 tables. Abstract: Azimuthal angle (Delta phi) correlations are presented for a broad range of transverse momentum (0.4 < pT < 10 GeV/c) and centrality (0-92%) selections for charged hadrons from di-jets in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 200 GeV. With increasing pT, the away-side Delta phi distribution evolves from a broad and relatively flat shape to a concave shape, then to a convex shape. Comparisons to p+p data suggest that the away-side distribution can be divided into a partially suppressed head region centered at Delta phi ~ ��, and an enhanced shoulder region centered at Delta phi ~ ��\pm 1:1. The pT spectrum for the associated hadrons in the head region softens toward central collisions. The spectral slope for the shoulder region is independent of centrality and trigger pT . The properties of the near-side distributions are also modified relative to those in p + p collisions, reflected by the broadening of the jet shape in Delta phi and Delta eta, and an enhancement of the per-trigger yield. However, these modifications seem to be limited to pT < 4 GeV/c, above which both the dihadron pair shape and per-trigger yield become similar to p + p collisions. These observations suggest that both the away- and near-side distributions contain a jet fragmentation component which dominates for pT \ge 5GeV and a medium-induced component which is important for pT \le 4 GeV/c. We also quantify the role of jets at intermediate and low pT through the yield of jet-induced pairs in comparison to binary scaled p + p pair yield. The yield of jet-induced pairs is suppressed at high pair proxy energy (sum of the pT magnitudes of the two hadrons) and is enhanced at low pair proxy energy. The former is consistent with jet quenching; the latter is consistent with the enhancement of soft hadron pairs due to transport of lost energy to lower pT., 421 authors from 58 institutions, 44 pages, 38 figures, 19 tables. Abstract: One of the most surprising results is to find that a consistent description of all the experimental results on particle multiplicities and particle ratios obtained from the lowest AGS to the highest RHIC energies is possible within the framework of a thermal statistical model. We propose here a thermodynamically consistent excluded-volume model involving an interacting multi-component hadron gas. We find that the energy dependence of the total multiplicities of strange and non-strange hadrons obtained in this model agrees closely with the experimental results. It indicates that the freeze out volume of the fireball is uniformly the same for all the particles. We have also compared the variation of the particle ratios such as $/, < K^{-}>/, K^{-}/K^{+}, \bar{p}/p, \bar{\Lambda}/\Lambda, \bar{\Xi}/\Xi, \bar{\Omega}/\Omega, < \Lambda>/, /, /$ and $/$ with respect to the center-of-mass energy as predicted by our model with the recent experimental data., Comment: 15 pages, 12 figures

40. J/��suppression at forward rapidity as a potential probe for QGP formation in colour screening scenario

Abstract: In order to study the properties of $J/��$ (1S) in the deconfining medium, we extend our previous formalism [Phys. Lett. B {\bf 656}, 45 (2007)] on $J/��$ suppression at mid-rapidity using the colour screening framework. Our formalism is more general as the complete rapidity, transverse momentum and centrality dependence including $J/��$ suppression at forward as well as mid-rapidity can be computed directly from it. Careful attention is paid to the role of the medium's proper time in determining the locus of the screening region where $J/��$ gets suppressed. Other important ingredients in the calculation are bag model equation of state for QGP, the longitudinal expansion of the QGP fluid obeying Bjorken's boost invariant scaling law and non-sequential/sequential melting of $��_c$ (1P) as well as $��^{'}$ (2S) higher resonances. Upon comparison with the recent data of PHENIX collaboration on $J/��$ suppression at forward and mid-rapidity regions, we find that our model shows a reasonable agreement with the data without incorporating any sequential decay mechanism of higher charmonia states. Abstract: We have modified the colour screening theory of Chu and Matsui by properly incorporating bag model equation of state for quark gluon plasma (QGP). We have also chosen the pressure parametrization rather than parametrizing energy density in the transverse plane. We assume that the QGP dense medium is expanding in the longitudinal direction obeying Bjorken boost invariant scaling law. Sequential melting of $��_c$, $��^{'}$ and $J/��$ is also considered in this scenario. We have applied above formulation to the recent PHENIX experimental data of $J/��$ suppression in Au + Au collisions at RHIC. We find that the model gives a good description of data at mid-rapidity in terms of survival probability versus number of participants without any necessity of implementing (3+1)-dimensional expansion of the deconfined medium., 13 pages, 2 figures

Abstract: The PHENIX experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) has measured electrons from heavy flavor (charm and bottom) decays for 0.3 < p_T < 9 GeV/c at midrapidity (|y| < 0.35) in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 200 GeV. The nuclear modification factor R_AA relative to p+p collisions shows a strong suppression in central Au+Au collisions, indicating substantial energy loss of heavy quarks in the medium produced at RHIC. A large azimuthal anisotropy, v_2, with respect to the reaction plane is observed for 0.5 < p_T < 5 GeV/c indicating non-zero heavy flavor elliptic flow. Both R_AA and v_2 show a p_T dependence different from those of neutral pions. A comparison to transport models which simultaneously describe R_AA(p_T) and v_2(p_T) suggests that the viscosity to entropy density ratio is close to the conjectured quantum lower bound, i.e., near a perfect fluid., v2 replaced Fig. 3 to fix an error in using a wrong theory curve; v3 minor changes in review process, including last 2 sentences of abstract. 422 authors, 58 institutions, 6 pages text, 3 figures, REVTeX4. Abstract: Correlations between p and pbar's at transverse momenta typical of enhanced baryon production in Au+Au collisions are reported. The PHENIX experiment measures same and opposite sign baryon pairs in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 200 GeV. Correlated production of p and p^bar with the trigger particle from the range 2.5 < p_T < 4.0 GeV/c and the associated particle with 1.8 < p_T < 2.5 GeV/c is observed to be nearly independent of the centrality of the collisions. Same sign pairs show no correlation at any centrality. The conditional yield of mesons triggered by baryons (and anti-baryons) and mesons in the same pT range rises with increasing centrality, except for the most central collisions, where baryons show a significantly smaller number of associated mesons. These data are consistent with a picture in which hard scattered partons produce correlated p and p^bar in the p_T region of the baryon excess., 420 authors from 58 institutions, 21 pages,5 figures. The antenatal ultrasonic findings and pathology of this uncommon entity are discussed.
