The SHINE (Self-Harm IN Eating disorders) study is an exploratory mixed-methods study that uses a sequential explanatory design. We will integrate results from a quantitative ecological momentary assessment (EMA) study (Phase One) and a qualitative interview study (Phase Two) to investigate the psychological, emotional, and social factors that underlie self-harm in young people aged 16-25 with an eating disorder.
