Huntington's disease (HD) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease in which an early and selective vulnerability of striatal Spiny Projection Neurons is observed. However, several studies have highlighted the implication of glial cells, and in particular astrocytes, in the pathophysiological mechanisms of this disease. A better understanding of the respective contributions of neurons and astrocytes in HD is needed and would be important for the development of new therapeutic approaches. Today, no comparable in vivo models expressing the mutant HTT selectively in astrocytes or in neurons are available. In this study, we developed comparable cell-type specific mouse models expressing a fragment of Huntingtin specifically in neurons, astrocytes, or in both cell populations of the adult mouse basal ganglia circuit. This approach allowed us to characterize behavioral alterations occurring as soon as 4 weeks postinjection. Interestingly, less severe but significant behavioral alterations were also observed in the two cell-type specific models. We further showed that astrocytes are less affected by mHTT compared to neurons, in particular concerning mHTT aggregation. Additionally, a more indirect contribution of astrocytes compared to neurons was observed in several pathophysiological mechanisms such as astrogliosis and neuronal dysfunction. Finally, we showed that direct and indirect transcriptional alterations within the glial glutamatergic clearing system are caused by astrocytic and neuronal expression of mHTT, respectively. We anticipate that our study will help to better understand the contributions of astrocytes to HD and guide future therapeutic efforts. GLIA 2016;64:1841-1856.

Understanding the formation and evolution of giant planets ($\ge$1 $M_{Jup}$) at wide orbital separation ($\ge$5 AU) is one of the goals of direct imaging. Over the past 15 years, many surveys have placed strong constraints on the occurrence rate of wide-orbit giants, mostly based on non-detections, but very few have tried to make a direct link with planet formation theories. In the present work, we combine the results of our previously published VLT/NaCo large program with the results of 12 past imaging surveys to constitute a statistical sample of 199 FGK stars within 100 pc, including 3 stars with sub-stellar companions. Using Monte Carlo simulations and assuming linear flat distributions for the mass and semi-major axis of planets, we estimate the sub-stellar companion frequency to be within 0.75-5.7% at the 68% confidence level (CL) within 20-300 AU and 0.5-75 $M_{Jup}$, which is compatible with previously published results. We also compare our results with the predictions of state-of-the-art population synthesis models based on the gravitational instability (GI) formation scenario by Forgan & Rice (2013), with and without scattering. We estimate that in both the scattered and non-scattered populations, we would be able to detect more than 30% of companions in the 1-75 $M_{Jup}$ range (95% CL). With the 3 sub-stellar detections in our sample, we estimate the fraction of stars that host a planetary system formed by GI to be within 1.0-8.6% (95% CL). We also conclude that even though GI is not common, it predicts a mass distribution of wide-orbit massive companions that is much closer to what is observed than what the core accretion scenario predicts. Finally, we associate the present paper with the release of the Direct Imaging Virtual Archive (DIVA, http://cesam.lam.fr/diva/), a public database that aims at gathering the results of past, present, and future direct imaging surveys. This study has been conducted to clarify certain issues regarding residency training with regard to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). The objective was to evaluate resident physicians' experiences in, and attitudes toward, the care of persons with AIDS in France. The design was a cross sectional study, using a self administered mailed questionnaire to 627 residents in 3 French areas: Ile-de-France, Nord-Pas de Calais and Province-Côte d'Azur, with a follow up of non responders. The subjects of this study were a random sample of residents in the second year of specialty medicine or family medicine residencies (biological residents, surgeons, public health residents and research residents were excluded). The response rate was 56%. More than half of residents indicated that their training was deficient in AIDS ambulatory care and less of 40% felt competent to provide usual and primary care for AIDS patients. The social and psychosocial aspect of care seems to be the greatest difficulties for them. About the half of residents reported at least one needle stock contaminated by a patient's blood. Needle stick injuries from patients known to have HIV infection were reported by 8% of them. About 25% expressed great concern about the professional risk of HIV contamination and 24% indicated it is dangerous to provide care for AIDS patients. It appears that an important component of future education in medical residency programs should emphasize strategies to address social and psychosocial issues in the medical care of AIDS patients and to decrease the risk of needle stick injuries.

International audience; We propose in this paper a broad-coverage approach for multimodal annotation of conversational data. Large annotation projects addressing the question of multimodal annotation bring together many different kinds of information from different domains, with different levels of granularity. We present in this paper the first results of the OTIM project aiming at developing conventions and tools for multimodal annotation.
