Abstract

During SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, an outbreak of chilblain-like lesions has been developed, even if the relationship with the virus infection is still debated. We report the good results obtained in 12 patients with chilblain lesions and the use of oral cinnarizine, a piperazine derivative with many pharmacological properties among whom antihistaminic and calcium channel blocking activities.

Abstract

We recently came across a 64-year-old woman who developed pruritic papules on both hands previously affected by vitiligo since 30 years earlier. The lesion firstly appeared 5 days after the first dose of BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 Vaccine, then faded away, thus recurring 24 hours soon after the second dose with a more extensive and symptomatic eruption. The patient noticed and referred a worsening of skin condition after sun exposure.

Abstract

We recently came across a male newborn with diffuse pustular eruption of the trunk and the face appeared at 25th day of life. The baby was born from asymptomatic COVID-19-positive mother and was otherwise healthy. Patient's throat swab PCR diagnostic test for SARS-CoV-2 was negative. A detailed clinical examination revealed monomorphic small pustules predominantly affecting the upper part of the chest and to a minor extent the face.

Abstract

Scabies is a contagious, itchy, parasitic infection of the skin caused by infestation with Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis. It is normally transmitted by close skin-to-skin contact with infected people including sexual contact or, less commonly, by contact with fomites. Permethrin 5% cream is recommended as the first line topical treatment for scabies according current guidelines and, meta-analysis.
