The transition from paediatric care to adult care is often difficult, especially in children with chronic diseases like asthma. A significant number of children reach remission throughout puberty; consequently, they are not tracked down for subsequent follow-ups and are not included in transition programmes to adult care. This case report focuses on a young adult with asthma that began in childhood and went into remission during adolescence, only to experience a recurrence when the patient was a young adult. Due to failing to complete the transition process into adult care services, she had poor adherence to therapy and asthma control.Adherence and asthma control significantly improved after a multidisciplinary approach in an adult care setting. In conclusion, appropriate transition and a multidisciplinary approach are critical for the effective management of asthma in young adults.

Aims: The paper presents a simulation of a theoretical model of electromagnetic extreme regimes, idling and short circuit, in a three-phase power transformer. The main goal of this paper is to show in a quality way that the computer simulation of the obtained theoretical model using the software package MATLAB Simulink confirms the possibility of analyzing the extreme modes of transformers. Methodology: To solve the problem of the presence of a transformer as an element of power in the power system, the following are used: Analytical methods in which the transformer is presented as a network element - usually as a quadripole, numerical programming that includes dynamic programming and independent variables, and combined programming with integer values. In the process simulation on elements with given parameters and frequency, a comparison of the substitution schemes used so far in the theory of electric circuits is performed. The accuracy of these theoretical models can be confirmed by voltage and current diagrams in the adapted software package MATLAB Simulink. Conclusion: The presented theoretical model and the applied algorithm in the simulation are universal and can be used for different states in which a three-phase power transformer can be found. Problems that occur in the analysis of transient processes in electrical networks where the element is a transformer can be minimized using simulation methods. Changing any parameter in the electrical circuit requires a new calculation of the condition of the circuit from the very beginning due to the new initial conditions. Analytical methods combined with the simulation method were used in the research of extreme regimes, such as idling and short circuit. The verified simulation method realized using the adapted MATLAB Simulink program had a threefold purpose: to serve the calculation and simulation of quantities that can be obtained by testing or measuring, to establish the original algorithm and to verify the proposed method. Also, this type of simulation can replace the idle and short circuit test.

The possibility to utilize the antibacterial and antibiofilm potential of essential oils (EOs) in dentistry is recognized and best seen in the design of EO-based mouthwashes. The up-to-date results, obtained with the most commonly used formulation being consisted of thymol, eucalyptol, menthol, and methyl salicylate (Listerine), proved its efficacy against plaque and gingival inflammation. However, novel alcohol-free products remain to be further investigated. Commercially available mouthwash containing curcumin, clove oil, mentha oil, eucalyptol, thymol and tea tree oil, and the mouthwash based on ginger EO (a-zingiberene, b-bisabolene, b-sesquiphellandrene, curcumene), reduced plaque index and improved periodontal status of the patients. The plaque index was also reduced and overall healing was improved after the surgical removal of the third molar by mouthwash containing John wort oil. In addition, Cinnamomum zeylanicum EO-based mouthwash and mouthwash containing peppermint oil were efficient against stomatitis and xerostomia, respectively. In addition to beneficial effects achieved in the mouth, i.e. at the appropriate site of application, novel investigations pointed-out that EO-based mouthwashes could be recognized as efficient in the reduction of bacterial and viral aerosols. This has been shown for Listerine, and for several mouthwashes containing following active substances of plants' EO origin: a-farnesene, b-farnesene, farnesol, nerolidol, a-bulnesene, eremanthin, b-sesquiphellandrene, spiroether, cinnamylacetate, cinnamaldehyde, eugenol, menthol, and carvacrol. This finding could be of special interest, in order to be included in further clinical studies related to COVID -19 pandemic.

The analysis and proposed optimization technique of asynchronous electric drives of production machines with a cyclic impact load, under the condition of minimum energy consumption, was presented in this paper. The mean values of the electric motor torque in the working range of a slider, were adopted in calculation. The derived formulae can be used to calculate the optimal parameters of the electric motor drive.

Tourism is one of the most developed industries in the world that is continuously growing. It has many different shapes and types with many different factors that affect its success. Over the years, tourism has changed. The new era of tourism is trying to put focus on present environmental problems such as the amount of waste, the use of natural resources and the pollution that it produces as a result of different activities. In this paper, the effect of natural and artificial resources on the development of three types of ecotourism is observed on the area of Semberija and Majevica in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Types of tourism that were research are: cultural and heritage tourism, spa (healing) tourism and recreational tourism. All these types have a great presence on the observed area. The distribution and attendance of the three types of tourism mentioned above is largely dependent on natural elements, such as water and forest areas, which can have both a positive and a negative effect on its development. On the area of Semberija and Majevica, types of tourism largely depend from the location and its surrounding.

Pathogenesis of chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) remains unclear since it represents an interplay between immunological, endocrine, and neuropsychiatric factors. Patients suffering from CP/CPPS often develop mental health-related disorders such as anxiety, depression, or cognitive impairment. The aim of this study was to investigate depression-like behavior, learning, and memory processes in a rat model of CP/CPPS and to determine the alterations in hippocampal structure and function. Adult male Wistar albino rats ( n = 6 in each group) from CP/CPPS (single intraprostatic injection of 3% λ-carrageenan, day 0) and Sham (0.9% NaCl) groups were subjected to pain threshold test (days 2, 3, and 7), depression-like behavior, and learning-memory tests (both on day 7). Decreased pain threshold in the scrotal region and histopathological presence of necrosis and inflammatory infiltrate in prostatic tissue confirmed the development of CP/CPPS. The forced swimming test revealed the depression-like behavior evident through increased floating time, while the modified elevated plus maze test revealed learning and memory impairment through prolonged transfer latency in the CP/CPPS group in comparison with Sham ( p < 0.001 and p < 0.001 , respectively). Biochemical analysis showed decreased serum levels of testosterone in CP/CPPS group vs. the Sham ( p < 0.001 ). The CP/CPPS induced a significant upregulation of ICAM-1 in rat cortex ( p < 0.05 ) and thalamus ( p < 0.01 ) and increased GFAP expression in the hippocampal astrocytes ( p < 0.01 ) vs. Sham, suggesting subsequent neuroinflammation and astrocytosis. Moreover, a significantly decreased number of DCX+ and Ki67+ neurons in the hippocampus was observed in the CP/CPPS group ( p < 0.05 ) vs. Sham, indicating decreased neurogenesis and neuronal proliferation. Taken together, our data indicates that CP/CPPS induces depression-like behavior and cognitive declines that are at least partly mediated by neuroinflammation and decreased neurogenesis accompanied by astrocyte activation.

Proces globalizacije je olakšao internacionalizaciju poslovanja. U kapitalno i tehnološki intenzivnim industrijama glavni motivi internacionalizacije poslovanja su pristup inostranoj tražnji i unapređenje efikasnosti lanca snabdevanja. Globalizacija je omogućila multinacionalnim kompanijama iz ovih grana transfer pojedinih aktivnosti sa manjim stepenom dodate vrednosti na pojedina tranziciona i tržišta u nastajanju, čime je došlo do unapređenja poslovnih performansi, ali i rasta složenosti lanca snabdevanja. Lanci snabdevanja su na ovaj način postali ranjivi na eksterne šokove. Pojava pandemije Covid-19 je dovelo do stvaranja „uskih grla“ u lancu snabdevanja. U radu se analizira kako je pandemija uticala na lance snabdevanja u auto industriji, preciznije na auto dobavljače koji su svoje proizvodne aktivnosti locirali u Srbiji. Kako bi doneli zaključke o uticaju pandemije Covid-19 na lance snabdevanja u auto industriji analizirali smo finansijske pokazatelje kompanija članica Automobilskog klastera Srbije u periodu od 2016. do 2021. godine. Analiza je pokazala da je početak Covid-19 pandemije uticao na pad finansijskih pokazatelja analiziranih kompanija, ali da je državna pomoć u vidu subvencija tokom pandemije, ublažila negativne efekte pandemije.

Titanium alloys are widely applied, particularly in biomedical engineering, due to their exceptional combination of mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility. The low modulus of elasticity of these titanium alloys in comparison to other materials used in medical applications is a main characteristic. However, some of these alloys' components, such as aluminum and vanadium, can have adverse effects on the human body. Consequently, new titanium alloys with low modulus of elasticity and no toxic alloying elements are currently being developed. In this research, 238 titanium alloys were collected, almost entirely composed of biocompatible alloying elements. The primary motivation behind creating such a database is to establish a foundation for designing new alloys using machine learning methods. The database can assist researchers, engineers, and biomedical professionals in developing titanium alloys for various medical applications, thereby improving health outcomes and driving advancements in biomaterials and biomedical engineering. The adipokine Leptin activates its type I cytokine receptor (LEP-R) in the hypothalamus to regulate body weight and exerts additional pleiotropic functions in immunity, fertility, and cancer. However, the structure and mechanism of Leptin-mediated LEP-R assemblies has remained unclear. Here, we show that Leptin:LEP-R assemblies adopt an unprecedented structure within the type I cytokine receptor family featuring 3:3 stoichiometry. We validate Leptin-induced trimerization of LEP-R in the plasma membrane of living cells via multicolor single molecule microscopy. In mediating such assemblies Leptin undergoes drastic restructuring that activates its site III for binding to the Ig-domain of an adjacent LEP-R molecule in the complex. These interactions are abolished by pathological mutations linked to obesity. Collectively, our study uncovers an evolutionarily conserved Leptin:LEP-R assembly as a new mechanistic blueprint for Leptin-mediated signaling in physiology and disease, including insights into how the lowly abundant signaling-competent isoforms of LEP-R can productively participate in signaling.

Hunting tourism can have significant positive economic effects on the local community. The objective of the paper is to estimate the direct economic impact of roe deer hunting tourism, with a focus on regional level, by applying the Nordic Model. Analysis was based on data gathered in the autumn of 2021, from the interviews with hunting ground managers and hunting tourism outfitters, and a literature review. The length of stay of tourist hunters ranged from 2 to 6 days. According to the interviews and statistical data, one hunting tourist spent an average of 2,121 € per hunting day in Serbia. In 2019 the direct economic income of roe deer hunting tourism in Vojvodina was 623,574 €. The regional economic impact of hunting tourism in Vojvodina is significant given the small number of tourists from whom substantial income is generated. Developing of hunting activates on one or more game species could bring significant economic benefits to these kind of local communities. Resources raised through hunting tourism are later used in these regions through direct investment and as a tool for sustainable wildlife management, and thus, the ecological and economic sustainability of hunting tourism is crucial and must be considered in future development process.

Adolfo Veber Tkalčević (1825–1889) a Croatian philologist, writer, passionate traveler and a Catholic clergyman is the author of the first Croatian account of the travel to the Croatian “Lake District” Put na Plitvice (Road to Plitvice, 1860). As a travel narrative, this book has a “worldbuilding” potential, introducing the Plitvice Lakes to Croatian culture, to the national landscape. In this article,Ifocus on the culinary theme of the trip. One of its side goals was savouring the trouts, but throughout the entire trip the tables of wanderers did not want to fill with them, offering the text-forming abundance instead. The journey “around theempty table” is a kind of self-portrait of “explorers” ready for a “heroic” attitude for the common good. Bearing in mind the specificity of Croatian Romanticism, which this work represents, I read the text in a cultural, anthropological and identity context, referring to the classics of discourse, and devoting less attention to travel studies.

Corticosteroids are anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant drugs. Topical corticosteroids formulations (ointments, creams, gels) are used in the treatment of different types of dermatitis and urticaria. Considering their therapeutic and whitening effects, they are frequently used for counterfeiting of cosmetic products. Corticosteroids can cause different local and systemic side effects. HPLC method is often chosen for their analysis, because it is selective, sensitive, precise, simple and fast.The aim of this study was optimization and validation of RP-HPLC method with UV detection for determination of trace levels of corticosteroids in ambiphilic creams. This method is used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of evaluated corticosteroids.Mometasone furoate, hydrocortisone acetate, fluocinonide, fluocinolone acetonide, betamethasone, betamethasone dipropionate and triamcinolone acetonide were evaluated. Separation was performed on Inertsil® ODS-3V 250 × 4.6 mm, 5 μm chromatographic column. Mobile phase was mixture of acetonitrile and water 50:50 (v/v) with gradient elution and flow rate 1 mL min−1. Column temperature was held on 40 °C and UV detection was performed at 240 nm.Selectivity, linearity, accuracy, precision and limit of quantification (LOQ) were evaluated. Method is selective because ambiphilic cream base peaks and corticosteroids peaks were not overlapping. Linearity was confirmed since correlation coefficient was 1 for all compounds. Accuracy and precision were evaluated for hydrocortisone acetate and betamethasone dipropionate. Determined Recovery values were in range of 70–130%. Both RSD values (21.46% and 9.59%) were lower than 30%. Method is highly sensitive since LOQ concentrations were in ng mL−1 range.All evaluated parameters of validation were in accordance with regulatory requirements. Validated RP-HPLC method can be used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of selected corticosteroids in ambiphilic creams.

Uzgoj brzorastućih biljnih vrsta osigurava nove energetske izvore koji omogućuju zaštitu šuma od sječe i posredno ublažavaju postojeće klimatske promjene. Paulovnija je drvenasta biljka značajna za proizvodnju biljne biomase koju odlikuje brzo klijanje, rast i razvoj velike količine lisne i drvenaste mase u kratkom uzgojnom periodu. Radi brzine rasta i formiranja stabla ujednačene debljine, pogodna je za preradu te je jedna od osnovnih sirovina u drvoprerađivačkoj industriji, ali i za upotrebu u energetske svrhe. Međutim, u početnim fazama rasta i razvoja, paulovnija je osjetljiva na povećanu vlažnost koja uzrokuje pojavu bolesti, štetnika i propadanje biljke. Stoga se, kod uzgoja presadnica paulovnije radi prevladavanja potencijalnog stresa i osjetljivosti na vodni režim preporučuje upotreba biostimulatora. To su fiziološke aktivne tvari koje biljkama pomažu pri rastu i razvoju, te smanjuju štetne posljedice nastale od suše, smrzavanja, mehaničkih i kemijskih oštećenja kao i od infekcija biljaka. Cilj ovoga istraživanja bio je utvrditi utjecaj primjene biostimulatora Delfan Plus® u različitom vremenskom periodu na rast i razvoj hibrida paulovnije Shan Tong (Paulownia fortunei × Paulownia tomentosa) iz „in vitro“ proizvodnje. Pokus je postavljen sa sadnicama koje su prihranjivane s biostimulatorom Delfan Plus® u količini 8 ml/10 l vode. Tretiranje biostimulatorom je obavljeno u tri varijante: prihrana biostimulatorom svakih 7, 14, 21 dana te kontrolna varijanta (bez primjene biostimulatora). Tijekom praćenja rasta i razvoja paulovnije, u periodu od jedanaest tjedana određivana je visina sadnica, a na kraju pokusa broj listova, masa listova (g), masa suhe tvari listova (g), masa suhe tvari stabljika (g), duljina korijenja (cm), masa svježe tvari korijenja (g) i masa suhe tvari korijenja (g). Rezultatima istraživanja utvrđen je najveći porast nadzemnog dijela biljaka kao i veći broj listova nakon tretiranja s biostimulatorom svakih 14 dana. Ove sadnice imale su čvršći i razvijeniji korijen za razliku od sadnica s ostalim tretmanima biostimulatorom. Najbolja iskoristivost svih elemenata sadržanih u biostimulatoru uočena je na vanjskom izgledu sadnica koje su bile zdravog izgleda bez pojave bolesti i štetnika. Rezultati istraživanja potvrđuju da primjena biostimulatora olakšava i ubrzava proces uzgoja sadnica paulovnije namijenjenih u komercijalne svrhe.Ključne riječi

In Europe, the period from the 17th to the 19th century was marked by scientific and industrial revolution, better traffic communication, which strongly influenced development of viticulture and wine markets. New varieties are introduced into viticulture, intensive working on hybridization, more intensive cultivation methods are applied with use of horses, distance between plants are changed and more modern stock are used. After liberation from the Ottoman Empire, Serbian viticulture is developing again. With arrangement of the principality and then the Serbian Kingdom, in the overall development of Serbia under the Obrenović family, a significant contribution was made by new vine plantation. Apart from the Danube regions, the areas under vines are located around the Kopaonik mountain, which separates southern Serbia from the Novo-Pazarski sandžak and the wine-growing centers such as Negotin, Požarevac, Smederevo, Kruševac, Niš and Šumadija as a separate region (area about 98,326 ha). However, the development of viticulture in Serbia is stoped by the appearance of phylloxera. The territory of Serbia was affected by phylloxera starting in 1881, and by 1920 it had reached Metohija. In order to restore damaged vineyards, were formed vine nurseries (Smederevo 1882, Bukovo near Negotin 1886, Jagodina 1889, Aleksandrovac, 1891) where began production of rootstock and grafting of European vine varieties. Since then, for the first time, varieties such as Traminac, Chardonnay, Pinot blanc, Pinot noir, Gamay were introduced into Serbian viticulture. The beginning of the 20th century was marked by changing of royal dynasties, so after atending to Serbian throne, King Petar I Karađorđević (since 1903) form an endowment estate at Oplenac. King Petar I Karađorđević, and after them King Alexander, intensively participated in plantation of new vineyards, using planting material from nurseries from Smederevo and from France (1925). By 1935, the total area under vineyards amounted to 37.78,31 ha, of which 4/5 were under wine and 1/5 under table varieties. During the 2nd World War, Serbian vineyards was under significant damage due to the lack of conditions to bad cultivation in appropriate ways. After the 2nd World War, viticulture in Serbia had several development stages. The first stage covers the period from 1945 to 1954 and is characterized by an extensive production level. The second stage, from 1954 to 1959, is characterized by vineyard with big inter-row distance of 2–2.5 m and greater mechanization using. The third stage, from 1959 to 1970, is characterized by vineyards with inter-row distance of 2.5 to 4 m. It is the period of intensive vineyards plantating. In the 1970, 106.000 ha belonged to individual sector, and 10.500 ha to the state (goverment) sector. In the 80-is and 90-is of the last century, it is period of the viticulture stagnation with significant reduction of vineyard area. The disintegration of the SFRY, wars that followed, sanctions and international isolation of Serbia and especially NATO bombing affected complete destruction of viticulture as a minor agricultural branch at that time. It is estimated that only about 20,000 ha under vine survived and could be maintained at the beginning of the XXI century. For the last twenty years, have been made efforts to restore Serbian viticulture. With a more modern approach, it started with the selection of clones of varieties mainly for producing of high quality wines. With the formation of smaller and medium-capacity wineries (from 100,000 to 500,000 bottles per year), the situation in viticulture and wine sector has changed significantly through the increase of areas under vines and the improvement of wine quality. Today there are around 360 registered wineries in Serbia.

Background/Aim: Deep carious lesions on primary teeth usually have been causing infectious dental pulp changes. If indicated, traditional endodontic root canal treatment for these kinds of pulpal infections in primary teeth usually should involve the performing of pulpectomy methods, but often with questionable prognosis. The lesion sterilization and tissue repair (LSTR) approach is one of the good endodontic therapeutic alternatives for affected primary teeth with a poor prognosis, which could otherwise be condemned to premature extraction. Aim was to evaluate the medium-term clinical success in everyday practice of the LSTR method applied in affected primary teeth with irreversible pulpal tissue infections by observation of reduction/absence of their clinical symptoms. Material and methods: The study sample included child patients who had one or more of their affected primary molars with irreversible pulpal tissue changes of poor prognosis treated with the LSTR method. For each patient whose primary molar tooth was endodontically treated with the LSTR method a clinical evaluation of treated tooth was performed at intervals of 1 and 12 months afterwards. Results: Study sample was consisted of 40 child patients aged 4 to 9 years, with 45 primary molars included in total. It was obvious that the symptoms related to affected sample teeth have already been decreased almost immediately after initial action of triple antibiotic paste. Final outcome after 12-months follow-up period was success of applied LSTR method in 43 (95.6%) affected sample teeth in a way that initial clinical symptoms completely decreased and disappeared. Conclusions: LSTR method has been shown as successful pulpotomy technique for noninstrumental endodontic approach in non-vital pulp treatment of primary molar teeth in a 12-months follow-up period.

Although previous studies have indicated the importance of a core strength and muscular endurance training in preadolescents and adolescents, there is a lack of evidence regarding effects of a long-term core training in unstable conditions. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of core training in stable versus unstable body positions on core and upper body strength and muscular endurance in non-trained children aged 11-14 years. Participants were randomly assigned to either stable (SC, N=569) or unstable (UC, N=633) core-exercise group and assessed at baseline, four, and eight months for sit-ups, dynamic trunk extension, static trunk extension, and push-ups. Repeated measures ANOVA, with time as a within factor, and exercise group, age, and gender as between factors, was employed for data analysis. Post-hoc comparisons showed greater absolute improvements after the eight-month training in UC compared to SC for all measures, age groups, and both genders (p≤.01), and greater relative improvements (differences in Cohen’s d between UC and SC ranged from 0.08 to 1.58), except for static trunk extension in 11- and 12-year-old participants. However, the differences between SC and UC in four-month effects were inconsistent. These results point out that core exercises in unstable compared to stable conditions have a greater capacity for long-term improvement of core and upper body strength and muscular endurance in non-trained preadolescents and adolescents.

A survey of the results achieved in the field of metal complexes with the natural products derived from Pseudomonas aeruginosa, namely pyocyanin, pyochelin, and pyoverdines, has been presented.

Reactive dyes are the most popular dyes for dyeing cellulose fibers. The exhaustion method is the most common technical method of their application, when large amounts of neutral salts and alkali are added to the dyeing bath to fixing the dyes. Despite this, 10-40% of the dye is not fixed to the cotton and together with the salts, it represents a large environmental burden for watercourses. Recently, methods have been studied to increase the substantiality and reactivity of these dyes with the aim of promoting procedures that are more economical and environmentally safer. In this sense, cationic modification of cotton can be considered a promising procedure for increasing the utilization of reactive dyes from the technological solution. This review paper reports on the possibilities of applying different cationic agents for cotton processing and the effects of cationic modification on the ability to dye with reactive dyes.

War participation is an intense psychosomatic deprivation. The consequences may range from war trauma to the loss of physical ability. As a result, war veterans upon returning from war may suffer civil life adaptation issues, and are at a high risk of marginalization. States accommodate the consequences of this process by creating various means of looking after this population. Previous research, although minor in scope, reveals the lack of looking after this population and shows the discontent of this population towards the ways the state and civil society treat them. The text is searching for an answer to the question whether the war veterans in Serbia may be considered a marginalized group and why this is the case. The conclusion is that the war veterans are indeed marginalized for not receiving appropriate compensation for the public service at the most perilous time; furthermore, there is discrimination within the war veteran community itself. The experience of marginalization is both formal and subjective. The formal marginalization is manifested in the lawsuit filed to the European Court of Human Rights; and the subjective marginalization is present in the stereotypes and labeling attitudes from the public, and in state institutions, too. Modern discourse treats the definition of equality increasingly less frequently as a wealth distribution inequality, and more often as equal opportunities for all. Therefore, besides considering economic inequality, it is vital to establish more egalitarian relationships towards the social and cultural acceptance of the otherness. Above all, war veterans require appreciation, even more than the welfare assistance in the form of the so-called "war wages". This holds the state responsible towards the citizens that have done their public service in defending the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state.

Background/Aim: The aim of the research was to examine the general attitude, knoweledge and practice of pediatricians about caries in children of preschool age. Material and Methods: The research was conducted from November 2019 to the end of January 2020. The research consisted of a survey of pediatricians. The questionnaire consisted of 4 modules and 37 questions, which related to the attitude, knowledge and practice of pediatricians on the prevention of early childhood caries. Results: The majority of pediatricians (84.9%) stated that they assess the nutrition of their patients, while 32.1% of them always do oral health assessment, and half of them in the second month of the child's life; and 39.6% assess oral health only if there is a problem. The majority of pediatricians (86.8%) recommended the first dental examination, most often in the first year of the child's life (79.5%), and then every 6 months (43.5%). The majority of respondents did not required information about the dental health of their patients' mothers, fluoride toothpastes and topical application of fluoride as well (62.3-75.5%). The majority of pediatricians (79.2%) have never provided or sometimes provided educational material on caries prevention and control to the parents of their patients. The most accurate answers and the highest percentage of correct answers that the pediatricians had were about attitudes (Z=8.98, 66.63%), while the fewest correct answers and the lowest percentage of correct answers regarding the practices on the prevention of early childhood caries (Z=11.91, 58.90%). Conclusions: The research showed that pediatricians have the good attitudes and knowledge, but do not implement prevention of early childhood caries in practice. The basic deficiency of attitude, knowledge and perception of the importance of prevention is a consequence of insufficient education of pediatricians.

The age pyramid of Roma populations tips strongly towards the younger age groups and is characterized by a low number of elderly individuals. There is a vast range of environmental factors that influence the age structure of Roma populations. To explore whether a genetic risk for premature mortality also exists in this ethnic minority, 33 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in 23 putative longevity genes were investigated in 308 adult Roma living in Croatia, and in Croatian population sample, composed of 314 „Old” (85-101 yrs.) and 97 „Young” (20-35 yrs.) subjects. The cumulative effect of the investigated SNPs, which have previously been related to human longevity, was summarized within Genetic Longevity Score (GLS). After Bonferroni correction the „Old” and „Young” Croatian age groups differ only in the allele frequency in MRE11A locus (rs533984), while the Roma had significantly different allele frequencies from the surrounding majority population in most of the investigated longevity genes loci (in 16 out of the 33 SNPs). However, the Roma’s GLS is equal to those in the „Young” and „Old” Croatian cohorts implying identical chances of surviving to the age of 85 among Roma as to the majority Croatian population, when only genetics is taken into account.

Introduction/purpose: The paper describes an alternative theoretical model of the Earth's EM field based on two-component field hypotheses. The paper consists of several parts, one part of which is a model showing the rotation of the magnetically conducting sphere of magnetization M in a foreign magnetic field. The last part defines theoretical models for the calculation of the components of the electromagnetic field of electrically conductive, dielectric and magnetically conductive spheres which are exposed to the influence of a foreign electromagnetic field. Methods: In the work, the responses of electrically conductive, dielectric and magnetically conductive spheres to the influence of external EM fields were investigated using the analytical method. Results: The obtained solutions in the form of analytical formulas will be applied to research the impact of the Sun's EM field on the planets and especially on the Earth. Conclusion: The resulting formulas of the electric and magnetic field strength and induction and their solutions can be applied to electrically conductive, dielectric and magnetically conductive spheres. In comparison to already known formulas, they are simple and have higher accuracy.

Education system is situated in formal educational and pedagogical institutions. However, considering that schools are not the only places for education, this paper examines the possibilities of teaching sociology in museums as a form of out-of-classroom learning. Teaching sociology in a museum provides opportunities for developing lasting basic knowledge and life-long learning, establishing and developing aesthetic and critical thinking aspects of students' personalities, and observing personal lives and experiences within a wider social context. The paper shows suggestions for this type of out-of-classroom learning, teacher's role in planning and visiting museums, teaching methods and units that can be attained in this form of learning, and a museum as an educational instrument. Learning through collaboration with other institutions in the local community shifts the learning context towards more complex cognitive processes. In the process of joint processing of a phenomenon, constructive discussion is encouraged and carried out in an unconventional form of class. At the same time, the cooperation between the local community and the school is being improved because the school upgrades its role of knowledge transfer to the role of a living centre in the community, and the school is actively involved in the needs of the local community. Among the teaching methods applicable to teaching in a museum, we have singled out a dialogical method and an interactive method because of their closeness to the constructivist approach in which the process of acquiring knowledge is conceived as the creation of the individual and the product of constructions. The essence of the teaching process in modern education lies in competencies among which the most important is that a student learns to learn and apply the acquired knowledge in practice.

Introduction/purpose: The paper describes a more advanced theoretical model of the Earth's EM field based on two-component hypotheses. A defined mathematical model that shows the rotation of the magnetically conducting sphere of Tthe magnetization M in a foreign magnetic field and the components of the magnetic field that may arise due to the rotation of the Earth around its axis. According to the established model, in relation to the reference values of the planet Earth, the values of the components of the other planets in the solar system were calculated and the results were tabulated. Methods: The solution to the problem highlighted in the title of the paper was determined using the combined, for that purpose, formalized methods of physics and mathematical analysis, in order to develop a new, more advanced mathematical model. For this purpose, the method of analogy was used, related to the application of similar structural forms and systems for researching electromagnetic processes and planetary rotation. The method of analogy was applied for two interrelated reasons. The first one is that all values that characterize the function of any natural system are subject to change, and the second one is that the applied solutions do not determine the conditions of the structure's function in each specific case. Results: The solutions in the form of original analytical formulas and numerical values arranged in Table 2, referring to the influence of the rotation of the planets and especially the Earth, will be applied to research the effects of the EM field emitted by the Sun towards the planets, especially the role that the process plays in protecting the planet Earth. The results given in Table 2 are particularly important. Conclusion: The paper discusses the appearance and effect of the Earth's EM field in a way that is understandable at the current level of scientific development. Scientific findings in science and measurements in geoand astrophysics indicate the Sun as a possible source of the EM field that extends through interplanetary space and the component of the Earth's magnetic field is only a response to the influence of that source. Natural phenomena and processes on the Earth can be defined in system theory by a model that contains changes in the parameters of the state of the planet.

The realization of inclusive education at the preschool age is an important effort within the school system of a country. It has been established that inclusive education has a stimulating effect on children with disabilities, as well as on typically developing children. Because of this, it is necessary to start with its realization at the preschool age. The paper presents the results of empirical research conducted on a sample of 763 parents of children attending preschool institutions in the territory of eastern and southeastern Serbia, which were collected using an assessment scale specially constructed for this research. Bearing in mind the importance of the formation of positive attitudes of parents as key actors in the upbringing of typically developing children, who should represent to their children a model of adequate behavior towards persons with developmental disabilities, the research aims to examine the attitudes of parents about inclusion in the system of state preschool institutions. It was established that the majority of parents recognize the most significant advantages of inclusion and the prerequisite for achieving inclusion in the context of institutional preschool education. When it comes to obstacles to achieving inclusive education, it was found that parents recognize them to a lesser extent. Also, it was established that there are statistically significant differences in parents' responses to certain items concerning the variables of gender, age, and level of education. The findings of this research can represent a good starting point for improving existing institutional practice in the context of inclusive education.

The aim of this study was to investigate for the first time some aspects of the reproductive activity of the Caramote prawn, Melicertus kerathurus, in Montenegrin waters. This species is considered a target species in the small-scale fishery in Boka Kotorska Bay, being a species of high commercial value. Sampling was carried out on a monthly basis from April 2019 to December 2019 by trammel nets. The spawning season was estimated based on monthly changes in the gonadosomatic index, condition factor and gonadal maturity stages. The main spawning season for females extends from April-May to September, with a clear peak in June. The total sex ratio (males/females) was 1:1. Sexual differences related to the length-weight relationship were noted.

The basic goal of this research was to examine which aspects of work motivation and perfectionism predict workaholism, in order to identify potential risk factors. Workaholism is defined as an internal need to work excessively that damages our health and psychosocial well-being, leading to long-term exhaustion and work inefficacy. Intrinsic motivation stems from the feeling of satisfaction inherent in doing work-related tasks and using our professional competencies, whereas extrinsic motivation stems from external rewards, a satisfaction of our other needs through work. The basis of neurotic perfectionism lies in the constant discrepancy between the goals person has set and what is achieved, which can lead to chronic dissatisfaction. The following instruments were used: The almost Perfect Scale, the Work extrinsic and intrinsic motivation scale, and Bergen Work Addiction Scale. The sample consisted of 109 participants, workers from the Republika Srpska area, aged 21 to 55. Most of the sample consisted of female participants (75.24%). The results of Kolmogorov-Smirnoff tests show that participants' scores on all examined variables are distributed normally. The fact that workaholism is moderately present in our sample is opposite from original expectations and highlights the need to further examine the prevalence of this phenomenon in the general working population. The goal of this research was to examine possible connections between coping strategies and dimensions of psychological well-being in the period of adolescence. In transactional stress theories, coping is defined as all effort that a person undertakes to cope with the external and internal demands of a stressful situation. This research used the Endler and Parker classification of coping strategies: problem-focused, emotionfocused coping strategies, and avoidance. The dimensions of psychological well-being were included from the Carol Ryff model: autonomy, self-acceptance, purpose in life, environmental mastery, positive relations with others, and personal development. The sample of the research consisted of 216 participants, aged from 18 to 25 years, with the average age being 21.73 years. Most participants were female, 81.40%. The results of the canonical correlation analysis point to a positive relationship between problem-focused coping and all dimensions of well-being, as well as a negative relationship between emotion-focused coping and all dimensions. Avoidance was positively connected with positive relationships with others. These analyses suggest that experiences in which adolescents successfully face controllable developmental stressors via problem-focused coping are essential for a healthy sense of well-being. Adolescents build key developmental capacities such as positive relations with others, autonomy, feelings of meaning, and purpose exactly through facing problems and mastering new capabilities and experiences. Excessive use of emotion-focused coping may bring short-term relief, but at the price of long-term well-being and maturity. One area of possible interventions is preventive adviser work with young people for them to develop optimal problem-focused strategies, such as situation analysis, searching for possible alternatives, careful preparation of actions, etc. Keywords: coping strategies, psychological well-being, adolescence, developmental crises

Cilјevi ovog istraživanja su bili da se utvrde: (1) razlike u antropometrijskim karakteristikama i agilnosti između različitih funkcionalnih klasa košarkaša u kolicima i (2) povezanost između antropometrijskih karakteristika i agilnosti sa funkcionalnom klasifikacijom košarkaša u kolicima. Uzorak ispitanika činilo je 40 košarkaša u kolicima, uzrasta 33.9 ± 11.2 godina. Procenjivane su antropometrijske karakteristike (longitudionalne i cirkularne dimenzije, kožni nabori), a za procenu agilnosti korišćeni su modifikovani T-test i osmica test. Rezultati jednosmerne analize varijanse ukazuju na postojanje značajnih razlika sa veoma velikim efektima između igrača različitih funkcionalnih klasa kod telesne mase, sedeće visine i sedeće dohvatne visine, dok su značajne razlike sa velikim efektima zabeležene kod testova za procenu agilnosti: T-testa i osmice testa. Takođe, rezultati korelacione analize ukazuju na to da postoje značajne umerene pozitivne korelacije sedeće visine i dohvatne visine sa funkcionalnom klasifikacijom.

Allergen immunotherapy is the only disease-modifying treatment option for allergic rhinitis, with adherence being its major limitation. We report a case of an adolescent with rhinitis, proven allergy to multiple non-homologous pollens, and troublesome symptoms despite maximal symptomatic therapy during the late spring and early summer months. Allergen immunotherapy to the most clinically relevant allergen was initiated under the supervision of a pediatrician. Shortly before her second year of treatment, she transferred to adult care and maintained a high degree of adherence and a favourable response to immunotherapy. In conclusion, allergen immunotherapy is effective in polyallergic adolescents with good adherence.

One of the most important tasks of breeders is to improve the properties of breeding material (varieties, lines) and to create a new genetic variability. The study goals were as follows: during two consecutive years (2019 and 2020), to evaluate the agronomic value of nine newly created spring breeding lines of fodder pea, as well as to evaluate the stability of yield components and to select the most promising genotypes for further breeding. The results of the study demonstrate that there are significant differences between the tested genotypes in the tested environments for most of the analyzed properties and that the variation of genotypes within the identified sources of experimental variation exerts the greatest influence . Based on the investigated property values, subsequent to stability evaluation the desirable genotypes L - OSMBK 1, L - OSMBK 3 – for the grain/plant yield L - OSMBK 1, L - OSMBK 8, L - OSMBK 3, L - OSMBK 9 – for the mass of 1,000 grains, and L – OSMBK 9 – for plant height were identified as the stable genotypes, with a high breeding and agronomic properties.

Parental involvement is an important factor in students’ achievement, and numerous studies have shown that it increases students’ success. As research on father’s involvement has become one of the current topics in education today, there is a need to separate the effect exercised by fathers from the overall family one. The aim of this study is to synthesize various studies which have focused on different aspects of fathers’ involvement; therefore, a meta-analysis would be an ideal method to create a synthesis of these perspectives and provide one general measure of fathers’ involvement effect. Nine studies have been included in the meta-analysis, where fathers’ involvement has been operationalized through father’s involvement in: education of children at school and at home, psychosocial well-being of children, modelling of behavior and leisure activities. The results show that the total measure of effect size differs from zero after applying the fixed model (z=13.510, p=0.000) and the random effect model (z=4.588, p=0.000), that is, there is a statistically significant positive correlation between the involvement of fathers and the academic success of their children. The value of the heterogeneity test (Q=66.560, df=8, p=.000, I2=87.981) indicates that the overall effect can be viewed according to the assumptions of the random effects model. The conducted meta-analysis has confirmed the assumption that fathers’ involvement is positively related to children’s academic performance.

The aim of this study is to describe the emergence of court and bourgeois salons in the nineteenth-century Principality of Serbia, in the context of the socio-historical circumstances and geopolitical background. A selection of examples of salon gatherings organized in Belgrade from the 1830s to the 1870s show the emergence of a new cultural identity through the coexistence and merging of different cultural models: Western European, Ottoman and Serbian. Starting with the first salons, organized in the 1830s in the home of Tomanija and Jevrem Obrenović, salon gatherings will be viewed through the prism of selected court and bourgeois salons. Special attention is paid to salons in which only women took part. In the period of the construction of the modern Serbian state, these salon gatherings contributed to the emancipation of women and their step from the private to the public sphere of society. In order to more comprehensively understand the role and significance of salon, the multi-layered salon practices are observed, with a focus on (1) analysis of the symbolism of interior decoration and clothing and of the social status of salon guests; (2) a reconstruction of the atmosphere through details of refreshments (food and drink), specific decorations of individual salons and dances performed; (3) analysis of the artistic and intellectual content: music, literature, poetry and science.

Growing globalization has created a business environment that encourages companies to internationalize through international acquisitions. The growth in the number and value of international acquisitions in the previous period has increased the number of studies that analyze this phenomenon from different standpoints. Research has shown that the success rate of international acquisitions is relatively low. Poor management of post-acquisition changes, which is particularly complex in transition economies, is cited as the main obstacle in creating value after acquisitions. The aim of the paper is to investigate the factors that contribute to the successful management of post-acquisition changes. The research is based on the case study of the acquisition of Montenegro Telekom by Deutsche Telekom. Data is obtained through employee surveys and interviews with expatriates engaged in acquisitions in transition economies. The research shows that successful management of post-acquisition changes requires change of the corporate culture in the short term and active knowledge transfer support from the parent to the target. Changes in corporate culture aim to encourage innovation among employees and willingness to accept a new business model and process. At the same time, knowledge transfer occurs through intensive employee training on the domestic market, abroad and through online courses and hiring expatriate managers. It turns out that these two processes are complementary and must be implemented simultaneously.

Brown trout is a common type of fish grown for consumption in open and flowing fish ponds on the rivers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We conducted this study during three seasons (spring, summer and autumn) to obtain a complete picture of the morphological and histological characteristics of selected trout tissues. The physicochemical characteristics of the water from the Pliva River near Pljeva and the fish pond where intensive breeding of trout is carried out were analyzed. These analyses have shown that there are no major deviations in water quality and that the water in the pond is of excellent quality. A total of 90 trout were harvested during all three seasons and their morphometric characteristics were determined by analyzing ten parameters. After the dissection of all individuals, histological and stereological analysis was performed to compare the tissues of the liver, stomach, gills and muscles. These analyses showed significant differences in the histoarchitecture of selected trout tissues from the pond compared to the river. Liver tissue had altered hepatocyte shape and presence of adipocytes; stomach tissue had stronger mucosa and weaker muscle layer; gill tissue had lower respiratory lamellae; while muscle tissue had a significant presence of adipose tissue in brown trout living in the fish pond compared to those in the river. All these changes are due to the quality of commercial feed and the inability to move freely.

Brown coal mining conducted at greater depths, characterised with severe mining-geological conditions often results in deviation from the applied mining methods. Experiences gained in mechanised longwall mining of roof plate in deeper parts of Raspotočje mine, using method of roof caving without safety pillars left behind the working panels indicates to shortcomings of the applying mining method. Frequent occurences of spontaneous mine fires, of hazardous gasses well above the limit values, and constant exposure to rock bursts of various in- tensity resulted in application of three longwall face ventilation regimes: conventional „U“ ventilation system, ventilation with gas channel and middle hallway, and separate ventilation of the upper part of the longwall face. This paper presents experience based information gained in a five years period of mining, analysed using one- factor and two factor regression analyses applied to a number of technical-technological parameters (ventilation, mining system, etc) influencing occurences of spontaneous mine fires and increased gas release in various ventilation regimes at longwall face aimed to give basic guidelines for minimisation and elimination of certain hazards. Safety risk management in Bosnian-Herzegovinian underground coal mines is not based on a systematic approach and standardized risk management methods. Mostly there is a traditional approach present, i.e. reaction to incidents/accidents that happen. This paper aims to point out the need for proactive approach introduction with an emphasis on importance of ventilation systems failure mechanism simulation analysis in planning of people and property defense and rescue in crisis situations. Based on ventilation parameters measuring results for a given research site (brown coal mine), a model was developed on which a simulation analysis was performed for three characteristic ventilation failure cases: spontaneous oxidation at the longwall exit, collapse at the entrance to the longwall and methane outburst - preparation of a new excavation field. VnetPC and CFD “Fluent” software packages were used to simulate mine ventilation. Destination image influences the tourist decision-making process, and their intention to visit, revisit and recommend. Therefore, a positive destination image is considered one of the key destination success factors. Tourists will form the image according to their own or others’ experiences and information related to the destination, one option to provide destination information is one of the most effective promotional tools called celebrity endorsement. With the assumption that a positive celebrity image will be transferred to the destination, this study will explore the effect of celebrity endorsement on destination image. The study aims to test the celebrity endorsement effect on destination image through the source attractiveness model, source credibility model, and the Match-up model. Data were collected using the online survey technique, the sample size was 204 respondents. Research hypotheses were tested by regression analysis. Results indicated that celebrity attractiveness, trustworthiness, expertise, and match-up impact the destination image. The theoretical contribution is reflected in new information regarding the role of celebrity endorsement in tourism, which is limited in foreign and domestic scientific literature. As a practical contribution, the study provides information that may be useful to tourism service providers in creating a promotional campaign.

This paper explores the current state and the perspectives of sustainable cave tourism development of show caves in Serbia. The results of the research were determined through the application of the newly developed methodology—Show Cave Assessment Model (SCAM). The obtained results of the research indicate shortcomings in terms of the protection of underground ecosystems and the tourist infrastructure. Moreover, based on the obtained data, future perspectives of the cave tourism development in Serbia include the establishment of karst parks, the affirmation of speleoarchaeology and the creation of innovative show cave routes. The focus is also placed on the importance of applying appropriate geoethical principles in cave tourism. The adventurous concept of cave tourism, which includes visiting caves that are not arranged for classic cave tours, and requires special equipment and professional guides, is particularly highlighted. Final results of the reserarch confirmed that the popularization and application of ethically responsible behavior towards underground karst ecosystems is necessary in order to preserve speleological geoheritage for current and future generations of local residents, tourists, managers, scientists and researchers, mountaineers, enthusiasts and speleologists.

This study examined water samples from a local stream in Central Serbia, which was consumed as drinking water. The chemical parameters (chemical oxygen demand, COD; pH, total concentration of dissolved substances and electrical conductivity), the concentration of major, trace and radioactive elements in the water as well as the content of those from the environment, were examined. In addition, the microbiological quality of the water was inspected. The water samples were acidic (pH from 5·27–5·69) and COD ranged in upper permissible limits (up to 6·25 mg O2 l−1 [WR]). The concentrations of major, trace and radioactive elements, including radon, were below maximum contaminant levels. The water contained a higher number of total coliform bacteria (TCB) than it was allowed (˃10 colony-forming units (CFU) in 100 ml of water) as well as enterococci and Escherichia coli. The characterization of the isolated bacteria indicated that two isolates demonstrated proteolytic activity, while full antibiotic resistance was not detected. The isolates showed moderate to strong ability to produce biofilm, while the isolates of E. coli were nonpathogenic. The results indicated that examined water samples were not microbiologically and chemically safe, therefore, the usage of analysed water was not recommended as a water supply. Further research needs to include more frequent monitoring in order to propose measures for the improvement of the water quality and prevention of health risks for consumers.

The traditional model of a university is gradually being metamorphosed into a corporate model that brings forth certain problems, alongside numerous solutions. In such circumstances, establishing and maintaining a culture of trust is the foundation of constructing a positive psychological contract between the organization and its employees. In such circumstances, establishing and maintaining the culture of trust in the academy’s commitment to the traditionally defined mission of building and disseminating knowledge aimed at improving, training, and educating the most important potential of the society – people are the foundation of constructing a positive psychological contract between teachers and higher education institutions. The psychological contract represents mutual expectations that the parties in this relationship do not have to be fully aware of, but which, nevertheless, guide their mutual behavior. It is an implicit agreement between the academic staff and the higher education institution specifying what each party in this relationship expects to offer but also receives in return. Since research on psychological contracts in the academic work environment is very rare, and the concept itself is relatively new and unexplored in the Bosnian context in general, this paper first sought to determine which factors may be related to the violation of psychological contracts in the academic context. The results suggest that a lower organizational performance of the higher education organization, lower academic staff member performance, as well as a lower level of formalization of the process of organizational socialization of newly-hired academic staff, lead to a higher perceived psychological contract breach. Findings also suggest that the implicit communication of the mutual expectations between the faculty/academy and the academic staff leads to a greater perceived psychological contract breach. The paper offers certain recommendations to higher education institutions for the establishment and preservation of a positive psychological contract in the academic context and the prevention of avoidable psychological contract breaches.
