Tanshinone IIA (TSA), a major lipophilic component extracted from the roots of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge, has been widely used in China for its various biological activities. However, its effect on ovarian reserve in aged mice was not studied elsewhere. This study aimed to explore the effect of TSA on the ovarian reserve of aged mice as well as young mice. Forty weeks old mice (N = 40) were considered as aged group compared to 4 weeks old mice (N = 40), and these groups were subdivided into four subgroups (N = 10) to receive different doses of TSA (0, 10, 20, and 40 μg/g/day).The effect of TSA was evaluated by counting follicular number by histological examination. Basal serum levels of FSH, LH, E2, and anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) were measured by ELISA. Moreover, the expression levels of antioxidant genes (CAT, Nrf2, GPX1), gap junction (Cx37), ERK1/2, and Smad5 family gene were examined at both mRNA (qPCR) and protein levels (western blot).Follicular number, level of AMH and E2, and the expression of CAT, Nrf2, and GPX1 genes increased significantly (p 0.05) in aged mice administrated with medium (20 μg/g/day) and high (40 μg/g/day) doses of TSA, whereas FSH and LH levels were significantly low compared to low dose (10 μg/g/day) and control (0 μg/g/day) aged subgroups. However, we did not observe any effect of all doses of TSA on young mice.Administration of TSA with medium and high doses up-regulates the expression of antioxidative genes, reduces the oxidative injury, increases levels of AMH, and E2 levels that are relatively comparable to those in young mice, and consequently results in a healthy oocyte development.

Original Article ,General Medicine - Abstract
BACKGROUND: The term potentially inadequate medication (PIM) is used to describe substances that may be unsuitable for use in the elderly and should be avoided. The PRISCUS list, published in 2010, was the first catalog of PIM designed for the German drug market to become adopted in practice. While 24% of German patients aged ≥ 65 years were prescribed at least one PIM per year in 2009, the proportion in 2019 was only 14.5%. METHODS: In a three-round Delphi process, experts from clinical practice and research evaluated whether selected substances are PIM for the elderly. The participants were provided with dedicated literature including systematic reviews carried out for the particular purposes of this project. RESULTS: Fifty-nine persons took part in the Delphi process and, in addition, contributed comments and therapeutic alternatives. Altogether, 187 substances were classed as PIM. One hundred thirty-three of the substances now listed were not in the original PRISCUS list: these include some oral antidiabetics, all of the selective COX-2 inhibitors, and moderately long acting benzodiazepines such as oxazepam. For some other substances, e.g., proton pump inhibitors (PPI), the advisability of treatment for more than 8 weeks was considered as potentially inappropriate, as was the use of ibuprofen in doses >1200 mg/day and for more than 1 week without PPI. Risperidone for more than 6 weeks is also PIM. CONCLUSION: The new, greatly extended PRISCUS list must now be validated in epidemiological and prospective studies and its practicability in routine daily use must be verified.

The study aimed to construct a test for the behavioral implications of verbal working memory among Savant syndrome and Verify the factor structure of the test using factor analysis. The study relied on the Geweke & Singleton (1980) approach to select the participants. The study sample consisted of a targeted sample with Savant syndrome. 32 Savant syndrome cases had selected. The verbal working memory test was applied electronically with the help of four colleagues in the field of special education. The applying procedure lasted nine months. The Exploratory Factor Analysis results reached a fitted general factor model. The confirmatory analysis results revealed the fitted construct of the first-order three-factor model structure. The results indicated the possibility of the three-factors loading on a second-order general factor structure. Keywords: Autism; Savant syndrome; Verbal working memory.

- Abstract
Background: Vonoprazan-based regimens are anticipated to have higher Helicobacter pylori eradication rates than PPIs. Aim and objective: to compare between the effectiveness of two 14-day regimens; one based on vonoprazan and the other on esomeprazole, to eradicate H. pylori. Patients and methods: Participants were determined to have active H. pylori infection and were either untreated or had previously received therapy were randomly assigned to either the VAL group (vonoprazan 20 mg bid, amoxicillin 1000 mg bid, plus levofloxacin 500 mg once day) or the EAL group (Esomeprazole 20 mg bid., amoxicillin 1000 mg bid., and levofloxacin 500 mg once daily). After 4-6 weeks following the end of the therapy, an H. pylori antigen test was used to determine the degree of eradication. Results: A number of 122 individuals were randomly assigned to either the VAL (n = 61) or EAL (n = 61) groups, and 118 patients were successful in completing the study. The eradication rates of H. pylori were found to be 97.7 percent for the VAL group and 68.5 percent for the EAL group, respectively (P = 0.031). All adverse treatment-related occurrences were minor and did not differ substantially between the two groups, such as nausea and vertigo. Conclusions: The VAL regimen was well tolerated and led to increased eradication rates; as a result, VAL may be thought of as a powerful regimen for treating H. pylori, particularly in nations with high levels of antibiotic resistance.

Introduction Tooth roots proved in different studies clinically and radiographically to be an alternative to autogenous bone. However, the histological evaluation of the tooth block following ridge augmentation is still missing. The aim of this case report was to evaluate histologically and radiographically the effect of autogenous dentin block (DB) to restore a horizontal ridge deficiency at a single tooth gap. Case presentation A healthy 36-years old female patient presented with a missing lower first molar (30), after clinical and radiographic examination, the site showed a class III defect horizontal atrophy. The procedure performed was the surgical removal of the wisdom tooth (32), shaping and fixation of a separated DB at the defect site using an osteosynthesis screw. A cone beam computed tomography was performed immediately and 6 month following the surgery. During implant placement, a core biopsy specimen was retrieved, stored and prepared for histological evaluation. The radiographic analysis showed a horizontal width gain of about 4 mm. The histologic assessment revealed cortical bone formation at the buccal and lingual aspects between the tooth and the bone. During implant placement, the core biopsy exhibited a slight separation upon removal from the grafted side, at 6 month following implant placement, the implant was successfully osteointegrated. Conclusion DB was successfully used for horizontal alveolar ridge augmentation, thus allowing a prosthetically driven implant placement. More cases assessing implant survival and success are needed to confirm the results of this case report.

- Abstract
The study aimed to study the performance expectation in future tasks based on personal learning management during the Corona epidemic. A random sample of 871 students from the University of Hail was selected. The study samples were from humanities, engineering, and medical colleges. The study was based on a cross-sectional study design. The study prepared a measure of future expectation of performance on the tasks. The scale is 28 items. Factor analysis was used to verify the validity of the scale, and the scale achieved acceptable indicators of good fit. The scale achieved acceptable stability using Cronbach's alpha coefficient for emotional factor 0.57, cognitive factor 0.94, and behavioral factor 0.90. The results revealed that there are differences in the future expectation on performance because of gender and type of college. The results revealed that there are positive correlations between future expectation of cognitive and emotional performance, as well as a positive relationship between emotional and behavioral performance. There was also a negative relationship between behavioral and cognitive performance.

Chemically induced dimerization (CID) systems, in which two proteins dimerize only in the presence of a small molecule ligand, offer versatile tools for small molecule sensing and actuation. However, only a handful of CID systems exist and creating one with the desired sensitivity and specificity for any given ligand is an unsolved problem. Here, we developed a combinatorial binders-enabled selection of CID (COMBINES-CID) method broadly applicable to different ligands. We demonstrated a proof-of-principle by generating nanobody-based heterodimerization systems induced by cannabidiol with high ligand selectivity. We applied the CID system to a sensitive sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay-like assay of cannabidiol in body fluids with a detection limit of ∼0.25 ng/mL. COMBINES-CID provides an efficient, cost-effective solution for expanding the biosensor toolkit for small molecule detection.

Compounds and composites with high dielectric performance are in high demand in electronic industry due to their ability to store more charge and lower energy dissipation. In this paper we present synthesis of flexible three phase nanocomposite films of graphene/titania/polydimethylsiloxane with reasonably high real part of permittivity and very low imaginary part of permittivity. Dielectric permittivity of polydimethylsiloxane was raised by addition of graphene and rutile titania used as conducting and ceramic additives, respectively added in various weight ratios. Dielectric studies of synthesized three phase graphene/titania/polydimethylsiloxane nanocomposite films with weight/weight of 2:15:20 exhibits dielectric permittivity of 34.8 even at very high frequency of 2 MHz. While loss tangent of the same three phase graphene/titania/polydimethylsiloxane nanocomposite film is as low as 0.01 and its AC conductivity is 4.3 × 10⁻⁵ Sm⁻¹. Complex impedance and complex electric modulus of three phase graphene/titania/polydimethylsiloxane nanocomposite films also confirm its capacitive behaviour. Based on these properties and results we propose that these type of three phase graphene/titania/polydimethylsiloxane nanocomposite films can be used as useful dielectric materials in energy storage devices. For a positive integer k, a radio k-coloring of a simple connected graph G = (V(G), E(G)) is a mapping $$f:V(G) \to \{ 0,1,2, \ldots \}$$ such that $$|f(u) - \,f(v)| \ge k + 1 - d(u, \, v)$$ for each pair of distinct vertices u and v of G, where d(u, v) is the distance between u and v in G. The span of a radio k-coloring f, rck(f), is the maximum integer assigned by it to some vertex of G. The radio k-chromatic number, rck(G) of G is min{rck(f)}, where the minimum is taken over all radio k-colorings f of G. If k is the diameter of G, then rck(G) is known as the radio number of G. In this paper, we propose an improved upper bound of radio k-chromatic number for a given graph against the other which is due to Saha and Panigrahi (in: Arumugan, Smyth (eds) Combinatorial algorithms (IWOCA 2012). Lecure notes in computer science, vol 7643, Springer, Berlin, 2012). The computational study shows that the proposed algorithm overcomes the previous algorithm. We introduce a polynomial algorithm [differs from the other that is due to Liu and Zhu (SIAM J Discrete Math 19(3):610–621, 2005)] which determines the radio number of the path graph Pn. Finally, we propose a new integer linear programming model for the radio k-coloring problem. The computational study between the proposed algorithm and LINGO solver shows that the proposed algorithm overcomes LINGO solver.

Recently, transition metal phosphates (TMPs) are demonstrated as promising candidates for supercapacitors due to their good conductivity and long-term stability. Herein, we have inrtoduced cobalt cyclotetraphosphate (Co2P4O12) as novel supercapacitive electrode material, which deliver a capacitance of 437 F/g with good stability over 3000 cycles (around 90%). To display the practical relevance, we have fabricated asymmetric device using activated carbon and Co2P4O12 as negative and positive electrodes, respecitvely, which can be operated up to 1.4 V. The introduction of redox-active moieties (such as potassium iodide (KI)) in parent KOH solution enhances the capacitance from 120 F/g to 156 F/g for Co2P4O12//AC cell with extended voltage window (1.8 V). Owing to the additional voltage and advancement in the capacitance, the cell delivers battery-level energy of 70 Wh/kg at power density of 2.3 kW/kg. It should be emphasized that even at high power (7.6 kW/kg), the cell maintained very good specific energy of 48 Wh/kg, suggesting excellent rate performance. The asymmetric device further showed long cycling stability with negligible loss and excellent Coulombic efficiency over 5000 cycles. Thus, metal cyclotetraphosphate can be employed as a promising electrode material in energy storage systems.

- Abstract
To compare the accuracy of biparietal diameter and transcerebellar diameter in measuring the gestational age during the third trimester of pregnancy. In this prospective observational study, 275 pregnant women with singleton pregnancy between 32 and 37 weeks gestational age were recruited from the outpatient clinics of both Helwan University Hospital and Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital, Cairo, Egypt, during the period from February 2021 to August 2021. Transcerebellar and biparietal diameters of the fetus were measured by a radiologist blinded to the women's gestational age, and compared to the gestational age acquired from a reliable date of first day of last menstrual period. The gestational age calculated by first day of last menstrual period ranged from 32 to 37 weeks (34.35 ± 1.4), while estimated by transcerebellar and biparietal diameters ranged from 31 to 37 weeks (34.31 ± 1.39) and 31 to 39 weeks (34.32 ± 1.44), respectively. There was a strong positive correlation between gestational age and transcerebellar diameter (Transcerebellar diameter is a reliable single sonographic fetal biometric parameter for the assessment of gestational age in third trimester of pregnancy.

INTRODUCTION The use of a buccinator myomucosal flap in combination with Furlow's Z-plasty during primary and secondary palatal repairs has been proposed by many authors to overcome some of the limitations of Furlow's technique. However, there have been no studies that quantitatively measured the effective palatal lengthening when the buccal flap is added. PATIENTS AND METHODS The buccal flap is routinely used during primary palate repair in order to fill the gap between the hard palate and reoriented palatal muscle sling. The soft palatal length was measured in the midline from the posterior edge of the hard palate to the base of the uvula. All patients were measured before starting the surgery and just after palatal closure in the standard position for cleft palate repair. RESULTS Seventy-three patients with cleft palate who were candidates for primary repair were included. The mean age at the time of operation was 11.4 ± 3.5 months. The mean preoperative palatal length was 21.36 ± 3.529 mm, whereas the mean postoperative palatal length was 29.64 ± 4.171) mm. The mean palatal length change was 8.29 ± 2.514 mm (P < 0.000). CONCLUSIONS The Combined use of a buccinator myomucosal flap with modified Furlow's Z-plasty in primary cleft palate repair has proven effective for palatal lengthening and achieved tensionless closure without the need for relaxing incision. It also provided a pliable soft tissue attachment of the palatal muscles to the hard palate allowing for better muscle function and mobility.

Background: Potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs) prescribing in older increases the risk of hospitalization, drug-related problems, and other adverse health outcomes by two to three folds (Lu WH, 2015) (WHO, 2018). Hence several regulations have been implemented in geriatric clinical practice to improve drug appropriateness. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of PIMs identified by the Beers 2019 criteria among Lebanese elderly inpatients, and to identify the factors that may influence such inappropriateness. Methods: This observational study was conducted among elderly patients of 3 hospitals in Lebanon. Data were collected from patients using a questionnaire based on the 2019 Beers criteria. Descriptive statistics and multivariable logistic regression were used to describe and identify the predictors of PIMs use. Statistical analysis was carried out using the SPSS software version 22.0.Results: A total of 110 in-patients aging 65 years and older were analyzed. 80% of patients were taking drugs that are considered PIMs to be avoided; The most commonly prescribed PIM was proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) (60%). PIMs use was significantly associated with polypharmacy and other comorbid conditions (p-value

General Medicine - Abstract
Background: To evaluate the functional and anatomical outcomes after allocation of patients with apical vaginal prolapse to either mesh augmented abdominal repair or vaginal sacrospinous-colpopexy based on proposed selection criteria. Methods: A non-randomized trial was conducted at Ain-Shams university maternity hospital on patients with apical vaginal prolapse stage ≥2 based on pelvic organ prolapse quantification system. Certain criteria were proposed for patient selection to either mesh augmented abdominal repair or vaginal sacrospinous-colpopexy. Seventy-eight patients were assigned for sacrospinous-colpopexy and 47-patients for abdominal repair. Primary outcomes were the functional outcome using urogenital distress inventory questionnaire and patient global impression of improvement (PGI-I). Both were measured at 1-year’s follow-up. Secondary outcomes involved the anatomical success (defined as no apical prolapse ≥POP-Q stage 2), perioperative data and long-term complications. Results: There was improvement in all UDI domains for sacrospinous-colpopexy and abdominal repair groups with genital prolapse domain of median (interquartile range) 0 (0-10), 0 (0-0) respectively. Eighty-nine percent of abdominal repair group and 85% of sacrospinous-colpopexy group reported scale of 1 or 2 on PGI-I scale at 1-year follow-up. PGI-I score and improvements in UDI domains were maintained till 5-year follow-up. The anatomic success rate at 1-year follow-up was 97.9% in abdominal repair group and 78.2% in the sacrospinous-colpopexy group. No long-term mesh complications were detected in mesh augmented abdominal repair over the whole follow-up periods. Conclusion: The resulting meritorious functional and anatomical outcomes favor adoption of our proposed selection criteria in the initiation of guidelines and recommendations for managing vaginal apical prolapse.
