Delta(9)-tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) and delta(9)-tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV) are phytocannabinoids with a similar structure derived from Cannabis sativa and possess a variety of biological activities. However, the relationship between the metabolic characterisation and bioactivity of THCA and THCV remains elusive.To explore the relationship between the metabolism of THCA and THCV and their underlying mechanism of activity, human/mouse liver microsomes and mouse primary hepatocytes were used to compare the metabolic maps between THCA and THCV through comparative metabolomics. A total of 29 metabolites were identified containing 7 previously undescribed THCA metabolites and 10 previously undescribed THCV metabolites. Of these metabolites, THCA was transformed into an active metabolite of delta(9)-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in these three systems, while THCV was transformed into THC and CBD.Bioactivity assays indicated that all of these phytocannabinoids exhibited anti-inflammatory activity, but the effects of THCA and THCV were slightly different in macrophages RAW264.7. Prediction of ADMET lab demonstrated that THCV and its metabolites were endowed with the advantage of blood–brain barrier (BBB) penetration compared to THCA.In conclusion, this study highlighted that metabolism plays a critical role in the biological activity of phytocannabinoids. A compact dual-mode bandpass filter with independently tunable second passband is proposed based on modified V shaped resonators. By switching the pin diodes at each end of the studied resonators, the second passband is independently tuned without affecting the first passband. A prototype of the dual-mode bandpass filter with a dual-passband of 2.54 GHz and 3.36 GHz or a single passband of 2.54 GHz is designed and verified experimentally.

Purpose Unintended consequences of knowledge management (KM) can be harmful if they are calamitous. However, they can occasionally be advantageous during catastrophes. The purpose of this study is to investigate how KM can be accidentally propitious during the COVID-19 pandemic using the case of Netflix. Design/methodology/approach Explanatory factor analysis, multilevel and multiple regressions were used with a sample of 45 countries. Findings In the authors’ sample, the hypothesized direct relationship between culture (i.e. individualism, power distance and indulgence) and collective pandemic resilience (CPR) was found. In addition, the hypothesized moderating effect of Netflix KM on the relationship between culture and CPR was partially confirmed. The findings suggest that KM during the pandemic can generate an unintended consequence of intensifying the degree of CPR. Research limitations/implications Small sample size, data paucity and the constructed variable of CPR might limit the generalizability of this study’s results. Nonetheless, one important research implication is that KM qua unintended consequences can have a significant moderating effect on the relationship between culture and resilience. Practical implications This paper highlights how organizations and society can cocreate the value of KM accidentally for the benefit of a larger public during calamities. Also, firms should proactively search for a wider application of their KM beyond their original intention. Originality/value This paper initiates a new discussion of positive consequences of unintended KM. Unlike individual-level studies of collective resilience in the past, to the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study generates country-level implications for the first time.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is frequently diagnosed and treated in advanced tumor stages with poor prognosis. More effective screening programs and novel therapeutic means are urgently needed. Recent studies have regarded tight junction protein claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2) as a candidate target for cancer treatment, and zolbetuximab (formerly known as IMAB362) has been developed against CLDN18.2. In regions where rockfall in a constant occurrence, understanding rockfall evolution becomes essential. Accurate information on the quantity of rock that happens can be obtained through historical data or primary data that can be compared between the two. The Koto Panjang area is a small local mine that is quite risky because it is on the side of the main road connecting access to the two provinces. This area is geologically included in Bohorok Formation composed of gravelly mudstone deposited during the Carboniferous - Early Permian period. Three rockfalls occurred in this area in 2015, 2016 and 2016, closing access for passing vehicles. To obtain historical data comparison, 164 images of data were collected from 360 street view panoramas ranging from 2015 - 2021. The data were extracted and converted into cube images using the decompose equirectangular panorama method, and then the images were processed using Agisoft to create point clouds and compared with the latest UAV data. Based on the comparison results, it was found that significant changes of up to 4,400m3 from 2015 to 2021 occurred at several points along this area. Kinematic structure analysis from direct measurement and 3D point cloud also showed the rockfall area predominantly with direct toppling and wedge failure, which caused the previous rockfall. Therefore, this method can help reconstruct area that have experienced rockfall and provide an understanding of the retreat evolution of rockfall in the area.

The Ticino Canton, located in the Swiss Alps, is characterized by steep valleys with important slope instabilities. It particularly affected by rock avalanches and landslides especially after important precipitations.One of those is the Cima del Simano gneissic mountain in the Blenio valley. The top, reaching an altitude of 2550m, is strongly weathered and presents one main 500 meters-long open fracture and several smaller fractures. Some preliminary satellite InSAR results highlight downward movements. This instability is worthy to be studied since it represents a risk for the road passing at the bottom or villages implanted on its slopes. Nevertheless, this mountain is challenging to study because of (1) its bad accessibility: the top without access roads is covered by snow half of the year and (2) the atmospheric effects: the top is often hidden by clouds. For those reasons, the study is carried by combining several remote sensing techniques to acquire a maximal amount of information on the instability movements such as rockfalls, topplings and slow deep-seated landslides. Those techniques are extensometers, GNSS, Lidar, satellite InSAR, Ground-Based InSAR (GB-InSAR) and drones Structure from Motion (SfM). They are aimed at confirming the failure scenarios, predicted based on field observations and by structural analyses. With Lidar and SfM point clouds one is able to detect small blocks in toppling or sliding, which are confirmed by the results of GNSS and GB-InSAR campaigns, as well as zones of accumulations of rock avalanches debris. By means of GB-InSAR and satellite InSAR one can detect more long-term moving areas (few mm/year). We estimate the limits of those instabilities and their corresponding volume with structural analyses of the discontinuities using Coltop3D and by applying the Slope Local Base Level (SLBL) method. For the main fracture, we try to delimit the contours of the instability, but such an aperture and hypothetical instability edges are hardly explained by the actual topography. One explanation is that this fracture was inherited from an older important gravitational event, whose involved material collapsed and was washed out since the event occurred.

Rockwall retreat by rockfalls in high alpine mountains has received increasing attention due to the increased rock failure activities and the corresponding damage under global warming in the past 20 years. However, the face retreat by rockfalls of subalpine rock cliffs is not sufficiently monitored and analyzed. In the present work, the nearly vertical sandstone-marls Molasse cliff formed by the La Cornalle-Les Luges landslide was monitored by a three-year monthly drone-based SfM photogrammetry and TLS scanning to establish the rockfalls inventories. The cumulative monthly detachment volumes from the sandstone and marls layers were analyzed using the frequency-magnitude relationships fitted by a negative power law, respectively, which help to calculate the retreat rate and reveal the spatiotemporal evolution of rockfalls between these two layers. Meanwhile, the cliff retreat volume in different months was correlated to the environmental factors (e.g., air temperature, precipitation, and rock surface temperature) using linear regression. A weather station and thermal couples in the rock collected the data of these factors. As a result, this work will contribute to a better understanding of the retreat pattern and rate of freshwater Molasse walls under global warming and provide a rock detachment model on a cliff with interbedded hard and soft rock layers in the subalpine regions.

Aim To evaluate association between pretreatment serum metrics and best corrected visual acuity ( BCVA) of patients with macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion and its subtypes after intravitreal ranibizumab or conbercept implant. Methods This prospective research included 201 patients(201 eyes) who were diagnosed with macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion at Heibei Eye Hospital between January 2020 and January 2021, who all received intravitreal anti- vascular endothelial growth factor treatment. Serum metrics were measured before the first treatment, and correlations between BCVA and each of four parameters— platelets, neutrophil- to- lymphocyte ratio(NLR), platelet- to- lymphocyte ratio(PLR) and monocyte- to- lymphocyte ratio(MLR)— were analyzed to identify predictors of effective intravitreal injection treatment outcomes. Results The mean platelets was significantly different in the effective and ineffective group for RVO-ME (273.02 ± 41.49 × 109/L,214.54 ± 44.08 × 109/L P Conclusion Higher pretreatment platelets and PLR were associated with BCVA in patients with RVO- ME and its subtypes who were treated with anti- VEGF drugs. The platelets and PLR may be used as predictive and prognostic tools for effective intravitreal injection treatment outcomes.

Peripheral focused ultrasound stimulation (pFUS) has gained increasing attention in the past few decades, because it can be delivered to peripheral nerves, neural endings, or sub-organs. With different stimulation parameters, ultrasound stimulation could induce different modulation effects. Depending on the transmission medium, pFUS can be classified as body-coupled US stimulation, commonly used for therapeutics or neuromodulation, or as an air-coupled contactless US haptic system, which provides sensory inputs and allows distinct human-computer interaction paradigms. Despite growing interest in pFUS, the underlying working mechanisms remain only partially understood, and many applications are still in their infancy. This review focused on existing applications, working mechanisms, the latest progress, and future directions of pFUS. In terms of therapeutics, large-sample randomized clinical trials in humans are needed to translate these state of art techniques into treatments for specific diseases. The airborne US for human-computer interaction is still in its preliminary stage, but further efforts in task-oriented US applications might provide a promising interaction tool soon.

Unified opinion role labeling (ORL) aims to detect all possible opinion structures of 'opinion-holder-target' in one shot, given a text. The existing transition-based unified method, unfortunately, is subject to longer opinion terms and fails to solve the term overlap issue. Current top performance has been achieved by employing the span-based graph model, which however still suffers from both high model complexity and insufficient interaction among opinions and roles. In this work, we investigate a novel solution by revisiting the transition architecture, and augmenting it with a pointer network (PointNet). The framework parses out all opinion structures in linear-time complexity, meanwhile breaks through the limitation of any length of terms with PointNet. To achieve the explicit opinion-role interactions, we further propose a unified dependency-opinion graph (UDOG), co-modeling the syntactic dependency structure and the partial opinion-role structure. We then devise a relation-centered graph aggregator (RCGA) to encode the multi-relational UDOG, where the resulting high-order representations are used to promote the predictions in the vanilla transition system. Patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) often suffer from delayed gastric emptying, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. We have shown previously that a PD rat model comprising bilateral substantia nigra destruction by 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA rats) exhibits gastroparesis with alteration of neural nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) and acetylcholine in gastric corpus. However, changes in pyloric motility in the 6-OHDA rats have not been characterized. Solid gastric emptying test, immunofluorescence, Western blot, and in vitro pyloric motility recordings were used to assess pyloric motor function in the 6-OHDA rats. Background Impairments of trunk movements in gait of stroke are often reported. Ankle foot orthosis (AFO) is commonly used to improve gait of stroke; however, the effect of different types of AFOs on the pelvic and thoracic movements during gait in stroke has not been clarified. Methods Thirty-four patients with stroke were randomly allocated to undergo 2 weeks of gait training by physiotherapists while wearing a rigid AFO (RAFO) with a fixed ankle or an AFO with an oil damper (AFO-OD) that provides plantarflexion resistance and free dorsiflexion. A motion capture system was used for measurements of shod gait without AFO at baseline and with and without AFO after gait training. Two-way repeated ANOVA, Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and Mann–Whitney U test were performed for the data after the gait training to know the effect of different kinds of AFOs. Results Twenty-nine patients completed the study (AFO-OD group: 14, RAFO group: 15). Interactions were found in pelvic rotation angle, change of shank-to-vertical angle (SVA) in the stance, and paretic to non-paretic step length, which increased in AFO-OD group with AFOs (p p r = 0.558). At initial contact, pelvic rotation was positively correlated with thoracic rotation in both groups. Conclusions The findings in 29 patients with stroke showed that pelvic and thoracic movements especially the rotation were affected by the type of AFOs. Pelvic rotation and lower limb kinematics exhibited significant improvements with AFO-OD, reflecting more desirable gait performance. On the other hand, the increase in thoracic in-phase rotation might expose the effect of insufficient trunk control and dissociation movement. PurposeWe aimed to verify the prognostic value of the glycocalyx as a marker of blood–brain barrier damage in patients with acute ischemic stroke undergoing endovascular therapy.MethodsWe recruited patients with large vessel occlusion who were undergoing recanalization and tested their glycocalyx at multiple time points. On the basis of the 90-day follow-up data, the patients were divided into a survivor group and a nonsurvivor group. In addition, neurological function was tracked, and patients were divided into a neurological deterioration group and a group without neurological deterioration. Associations between outcomes and dynamic changes in the glycocalyx were determined using a linear mixed model, and significant factors were used as covariates.ResultsNonsurvivors and patients with neurological deterioration had significantly higher syndecan-1 concentrations than survivors and patients without neurological deterioration, and syndecan-1 tended to decline after endovascular therapy (p < 0.05). The increased level of syndecan-1 at 36 h after endovascular treatment was positively correlated with the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale score for neurological deterioration (r = 0.702, p = 0.005). However, there was no significant difference in the level of hyaluronic acid or heparan sulfate in the plasma of patients with different clinical outcomes.ConclusionPre-reperfusion syndecan-1 levels in patients with large vessel occlusion stroke are associated with 90-day mortality and the re-degradation of syndecan-1 is positively associated with neurological deterioration.

ObjectiveThe present study was aimed at investigating the intelligence profiles and adaptive behaviors of children with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder (HFASD) and developmental speech and language disorders (DSLDs). We compared the similarities and differences of cognitive capabilities and adaptive functions and explored their correlations in the HFASD and DSLDs groups.Methods128 patients with HFASD, 111 patients with DSLDs and 114 typically developing (TD) children were enrolled into our study. Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-IV (WISC-IV) and Adaptive Behavior Assessment System-II (ABAS-II) were respectively applied to evaluate intelligence profiles and adaptive behaviors. Intelligence quotient (IQ) scores and adaptive functioning scores among the HFASD, DSLDs and TD groups were compared through one-way ANOVA. Pearson correlation coefficient was applied to examine the relationships between WISC indices and ABAS domains.ResultsOutcomes showed significantly poorer intelligence profiles and adaptive behaviors in HFASD and DSLDs groups. Both children with HFASD and DSLDs demonstrated impairments in verbal comprehension and executive functions. Processing speed and working memory were the predominant defects of children with HFASD and DSLDs in the field of executive functions, respectively. Whereas perceptual reasoning was a relative strength for them. Children with DSLDs had balanced scores of all the domains in ABAS-II; nevertheless, HFASD individuals demonstrated striking impairments in Social domain. Correlation analysis showed IQs of children with HFASD were positively correlated with all the domains and General Adaptive Composite (GAC) of ABAS-II. Additionally, IQs were positively correlated with Conceptual domain and GAC for children with DSLDs. Compared with DSLDs group, intelligence displayed stronger correlations with adaptive behaviors in HFASD group.ConclusionOur study expanded insights regarding intelligence profiles and adaptive behaviors of children with HFASD and DSLDs. Moreover, this study made breakthroughs in discovering positive correlations between IQs and adaptive functions in the two neurodevelopmental disorders.

Few-shot named entity recognition (NER) exploits limited annotated instances to identify named mentions. Effectively transferring the internal or external resources thus becomes the key to few-shot NER. While the existing prompt tuning methods have shown remarkable few-shot performances, they still fail to make full use of knowledge. In this work, we investigate the integration of rich knowledge to prompt tuning for stronger few-shot NER. We propose incorporating the deep prompt tuning framework with threefold knowledge (namely TKDP), including the internal 1) context knowledge and the external 2) label knowledge & 3) sememe knowledge. TKDP encodes the three feature sources and incorporates them into the soft prompt embeddings, which are further injected into an existing pre-trained language model to facilitate predictions. On five benchmark datasets, our knowledge-enriched model boosts by at most 11.53% F1 over the raw deep prompt method, and significantly outperforms 8 strong-performing baseline systems in 5-/10-/20-shot settings, showing great potential in few-shot NER. In a laser wakefield accelerator (LWFA), an intense laser pulse excites a plasma wave that traps and accelerates electrons to relativistic energies. When the pulse overlaps the accelerated electrons, it can enhance the energy gain through direct laser acceleration (DLA) by resonantly driving the betatron oscillations of the electrons in the plasma wave. The particle-in-cell (PIC) algorithm, although often the tool of choice to study DLA, contains inherent errors due to numerical dispersion and the time staggering of the electric and magnetic fields. Further, conventional PIC implementations cannot reliably disentangle the fields of the plasma wave and laser pulse, which obscures interpretation of the dominant acceleration mechanism. Here, a customized field solver that reduces errors from both numerical dispersion and time staggering is used in conjunction with a field decomposition into azimuthal modes to perform PIC simulations of DLA in an LWFA. Comparisons with traditional PIC methods, model equations, and experimental data show improved accuracy with the customized solver and convergence with an order-of-magnitude fewer cells. Universally modeling all typical information extraction tasks (UIE) with one generative language model (GLM) has revealed great potential by the latest study, where various IE predictions are unified into a linearized hierarchical expression under a GLM. Syntactic structure information, a type of effective feature which has been extensively utilized in IE community, should also be beneficial to UIE. In this work, we propose a novel structure-aware GLM, fully unleashing the power of syntactic knowledge for UIE. A heterogeneous structure inductor is explored to unsupervisedly induce rich heterogeneous structural representations by post-training an existing GLM. In particular, a structural broadcaster is devised to compact various latent trees into explicit high-order forests, helping to guide a better generation during decoding. We finally introduce a task-oriented structure fine-tuning mechanism, further adjusting the learned structures to most coincide with the end-task's need. Over 12 IE benchmarks across 7 tasks our system shows significant improvements over the baseline UIE system. Further in-depth analyses show that our GLM learns rich task-adaptive structural bias that greatly resolves the UIE crux, the long-range dependence issue and boundary identifying. International audience; The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), the first multi-kton liquid scintillator detector, which is under construction in China, will have a unique potential to perform a real-time measurement of solar neutrinos well below the few MeV threshold typical for Water Cherenkov detectors. JUNO's large target mass and excellent energy resolution are prerequisites for reaching unprecedented levels of precision. In this paper, we provide estimation of the JUNO sensitivity to 7Be, pep, and CNO solar neutrinos that can be obtained via a spectral analysis above the 0.45 MeV threshold. This study is performed assuming different scenarios of the liquid scintillator radiopurity, ranging from the most opti mistic one corresponding to the radiopurity levels obtained by the Borexino experiment, up to the minimum requirements needed to perform the neutrino mass ordering determination with reactor antineutrinos - the main goal of JUNO. Our study shows that in most scenarios, JUNO will be able to improve the current best measurements on 7Be, pep, and CNO solar neutrino fluxes. We also perform a study on the JUNO capability to detect periodical time variations in the solar neutrino flux, such as the day-night modulation induced by neutrino flavor regeneration in Earth, and the modulations induced by temperature changes driven by helioseismic waves.
