Introduction: Glucocorticoids, macrolides, antibiotics and surgical treatment are regularly used for the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS), Although these treatments have advantages, however, they and remain controversial. This study aims to examine both the safety and efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) Biyuanshu oral liquid (BYSOL) in the treatment of CRS, which may supply a substitute for clinicians and compensate for the short supply of therapeutic procedures. Methods and analysis: The guidance for this protocol is contributed by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols (PRISMA-P) in addition to the Cochrane Collaboration Handbook. Furthermore, stringent inclusion and exclusion criteria will be designed in English databases encompassing (PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science), in addition to Chinese databases covering (CNKI, Wanfang databases, CBM, and VIP), apart from searching literature in various clinical registration platforms including (Cochrane Library, Chinese Cochrane Centre’s Clinical Trial Registry Platform). For evaluating the article opted, we will employ Cochrane RCT evaluation criteria. Additionally, data analysis will be executed with Stata 15.0. Similarly, subgroup analysis along with sensitivity analysis, in addition to meta-regression will be used for detecting the sources of heterogeneity. In the same vein, publication bias will be identified with the help of Egger’s Test or Begg’s Test in a quantitative manner. Conclusion: BYSOL has the efficacy to curb the symptoms as well as recurrence of CRS in the course of clinical trials, however, it arises the need for adopting evidence-based medicine in order to offer robust evidence for its efficacy and safety. Therefore, we aim to supply the evidence. OSF Registration number: DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/RNC3J(https://osf.io/rnc3j/).
