Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris (Xcc) is a vascular bacteria pathogen causing black rot in cabbage. Here, the resistance mechanisms of cabbage against Xcc infection were explored by integrated metabolome and transcriptome analysis. Pathogen perception, hormone metabolisms, sugar metabolisms, and phenylpropanoid metabolisms in cabbage were systemically re-programmed at both transcriptional and metabolic levels after Xcc infection. Notably, the salicylic acid (SA) metabolism pathway was highly enriched in resistant lines following Xcc infection, indicating that the SA metabolism pathway may positively regulate the resistance of Xcc. Moreover, we also validated our hypothesis by showing that the flavonoid pathway metabolites chlorogenic acid and caffeic acid could effectively inhibit the growth of Xcc. These findings provide valuable insights and resource datasets for further exploring Xcc–cabbage interactions and help uncover molecular breeding targets for black rot-resistant varieties in cabbage.

Objective: To explore the goal of pain control in patients after arthroscopic surgery.Design: Investigation. Postoperative pain, pain control satisfaction and the effect of pain on daily activities were investigated and evaluated.Setting: Department of Sports Medicine,Peking University 3rd Hospital,Beijing, P.R.ChinaSubjects: 514 patients selected by convenience sampling from patients hospitalized in a level A hospital in Beijing from 2020.06-2020.11. The patient inclusion criteria were an age of at least 18 years, no history of diagnosis of mental illness, the ability to clearly express his or her pain and an agreement to voluntarily cooperate with the investigators. The exclusion criteria were patients who were unable to complete follow-up.Methods: Postoperative pain, pain control satisfaction and the effect of pain on daily activities were investigated and evaluated by administering a homemade questionnaire to 514 patients selected by convenience sampling from patients hospitalized in a level A hospital in Beijing from 2020.06-2020.11. Pain was assessed using a digital pain numerical rating scale (NRS) (0-10), and a digital score ranging from 0 to 10 was used for satisfaction with pain control and the impact of pain on aspects of daily living. Results: The pain level was most severe in patients 6-24 hours after arthroscopic surgery, during which pain control satisfaction was at its worst. The pain score was significantly related to the effects of pain on aspects of daily life, and the degree of these effects changed significantly for pain scores greater than 2 points. Conclusion: Pain control 6 to 24 hours after surgery is not satisfactory. It is recommended that a pain score of 2 points is used as the goal for pain control after arthroscopic surgery to guide both doctors and patients to effectively control postoperative pain.

The significant progress of GeSn material development has enabled a feasible solution to the long-desired monolithically integrated lasers on the Si platform. While there are many reports focused on optically pumped lasers, GeSn lasers through electrical injection have not been experimentally achieved yet. In this work, we report the first demonstration of electrically injected GeSn lasers on Si. A GeSn/SiGeSn heterostructure diode grown on a Si substrate was fabricated into ridge waveguide laser devices and tested under pulsed conditions. Special considerations were given for the structure design to ensure effective carrier confinement and optical confinement that lead to lasing. Lasing was observed at temperatures from 10 to 100 K with emission peaks at around 2300 nm. The minimum threshold of 598 A/cm2 was recorded at 10 K and the threshold increased to 842 A/cm2 at 77 K. The spectral linewidth of a single peak was measured as small as 0.13 nm (0.06 meV). The maximum characteristic temperature was extracted as 99 K over the temperature range of 10-77 K.

In this study, samples were taken from different types of municipal waste incineration plants in the Pearl River Delta, China. Analyzing the distributive characters of elements and dioxin congeners in fly ash, the method of washing-ball milling was utilized to remove chloride and degrade dioxin in fly ash. The results showed that more than 90% of particles were in the range of 1∼50μm and most of dioxin and metals existed in 0.030∼0.075mm of particles. K, Na, Cl and Br in fly ash could be removed by washing efficiently, however dioxin and other metals remained in the solid phase. Washing and Fe/Ni-SiO2 ball-milling method seemed to be the best choice as the dioxin removal rate could reach up to 93.20%. Dioxin could be degraded to low toxic compounds and heterochorides with Fe/Ni as dechlorinating agent. In the process, PCDFs were partly transformed to PCDDs, while too long time of ball-milling was not benefited for dioxin removing. In addition, the phases of calcium such as Ca(OH)2, CaCO3 and CaSO4 in fly ash could transform from crystal to amorphous.

A Si-based monolithic laser is highly desirable for full integration of Si-photonics. Lasing from direct bandgap group-IV GeSn alloy has opened a completely new venue from the traditional III-V integration approach. We demonstrated optically pumped GeSn lasers on Si with broad wavelength coverage from 2 to 3 m. The GeSn alloys were grown using newly developed approaches with an industry standard chemical vapor deposition reactor and low-cost commercially available precursors. The achieved maximum Sn composition of 17.5% exceeded the generally acknowledged Sn incorporation limits for using similar deposition chemistries. The highest lasing temperature was measured as 180 K with the active layer thickness as thin as 260 nm. The unprecedented lasing performance is mainly due to the unique growth approaches, which offer high-quality epitaxial materials. The results reported in this work show a major advance towards Si-based mid-infrared laser sources for integrated photonics., 34 pages, 12 figures

For the large variety of shopping malls, supermarkets, cafeterias and other places, customers need to spend a lot of time looking for goods. Due to this, a smart shopping guide is designed based on PLC. The robot mainly uses the CPU 224 controller to control the motor to drive at a speed of 1 m/s, and the DC brushless motor can load 75 kg of goods at a constant speed. If the distance between the pedestrian and the robot exceeds the allowable range, the CPU will execute the interrupt program and the robot will stop moving to avoid the pedestrian until the pedestrian completely walks out of the maximum allowable range. The sensor could not detect the pedestrian, and the CPU controlled robot continued to work. After testing, this robot can reduce the time spent by customers in finding goods, which greatly saves manpower and material resources.

Cervical carcinogenesis induced by persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) infection represents a stepwise progression from precursors to invasive cervical cancer. Accumulated evidence has shown aberrant expression of microRNAs (miRNAs) in cervical cancer tissues and cells. Further studies reveal that miRNAs play key roles in the initiation and progression of cervical cancer, via specific signaling pathways, including E6-p53, E7-pRb, phosphoinositide3 kinase (PI3K)-Akt, Notch, Wnt/β-catenin, and Hedgehog pathways. Some studies demonstrate that miRNAs might serve as biomarkers or therapeutic targets, presenting a potential prospect in clinical practice. All results provide new insights into the function of miRNAs and the pathogenesis of cervical cancer induced by viral oncoproteins. New approaches for miRNA-based prevention and management for cervical cancer will be developed in the future.

Four hierarchical cyclothems, superbundlesets, bundlesets, bundles and laminae, have been identified from the Devonian Frasnian-Famennian carbonate strata in Guangxi, South China. Their hierarchical structures, ratio relationships and sequence in conodont zones are continuous and stable and can be traced across different facies zones and sedimentary basins. Our data show that hierarchically organized superbundlesets, bundlesets, bundles and laminae correspond to the long eccentricity, eccentricity, obliquity or precession and sub-Milankovitch cycles respectively. Their periods were 400,000, 100,000, 33,333, 16,667 and 8,000-17,000 a, respectively. The ratios of long eccentricity to eccentricity, eccentricity to obliquity, and eccentricity to precession in the Devonian are 1:4, 1:3 and 1:6 respectively. Using these hierarchical Milankovitch cyclothems, chronostratigraphical division and correlation can be realized at a resolution of 100 ka or 10 ka at the Frasnian-Famennian transition. The time intervals of the Upper rhenana Zone, linguiformis Zone, and the Lower, Middle and Upper triangularis Zone are 0.6, 0.8, 0.3, 0.3 and 0.3 Ma, respectively. Sea-level changes of the Frasnian-Famennian transition were not coherent and synchronous at the resolution of 100 ka or 10 ka in the basin-slope carbonate sequences of Guangxi, South China.

The hierarchically organized laminae, bundles, bundlesets and superbundlesets which correspond to a sub-Milankovitch, obliquity or precession, eccentricity and long eccentricity cyclothems, respectively, have been distinguished from the Upper Devonian Fras-nian-Famennian (F-F) transitional carbonate successions deposited in the carbonate-basin and slope facies of Guangxi, South China. The durations of cyclothems are 8000-10000a, 16667a or 33333a, 100000a and 400000a, respectively. The ratio of eccentricity to precession, eccentricity to obliquity, and long eccentricity to eccentricity is 1 : 6, 1 : 3 and 1 : 4 in the Devonian, respectively. Orbital cyclostratigraphical studies show that the durations of the conodont falsio-valis Zone, transitans Zone, punctate Zone, Lower hassi Zone, Upper hassi Zone, jamieae Zone, Lower rhenana Zone, Upper rhenana Zone, linguiformis Zone, Lower triangularis Zone, Middle triangularis Zone and Upper triangularis Zone are 0.4, 0.4, 0.4, 0.3, 0.4, 0.2, 0.8, 0.6, 0.8, 0.3, 0.3 and 0.3 Ma from bottom to top, respectively, and the duration of the Frasnian is 4.3 Ma. The conodont is the normal marine organism of the latest mass extinction (the latest linguiformis Zone) and the first recovery (including the whole Lower triangularis and Middle triangularis Zone) in the F-F transition. The conodont mass extinction and recovery lasted 200000-100000a and 0.6 Ma, respectively. We consider that average durations of the fossil zones calculated by reported numerical ages divided by fossil zone numbers within a stage or series or system cannot discovery complications and non-uniformity of evolutionary organisms and environments.

Core 255 from the southern Okinawa Trough was selected to monitor the shift of the Kuroshio axis over the last 20 000 years. During the last glacial maximum the Kuroshio axis had ever shifted outside the Okinawa Trough. It entered the Okinawa Trough again at about 6 500 a BP, leading to abrupt increase of sedimentation rate, distinctly coarser sediment and remarkably increased abundance of foraminiferal indicators of the Kuroshio in the core. But, during about 4 000-3 000 a BP the abundance of the Kuroshio indicatorPulleniatina obliquiloculata sharply decreased again, indicating that the Kuroshio axis had ever shifted casterly for a short period or the Kuroshio was weakened and that moment.

Pulleniatina obliquiloculata , a tropical species of planktonic foraminifera, is indicative of the Kuroshio current and sensitive to winter sea surface temperature for the late Quaternary in the Okinawa Trough. Its relative abundance fluctuations are significant and correlatable between three gravity cores (cores 255, 170, 253) raised from the southern Okinawa Trough. Four major changes in its abundances with paleoceanographic significance have been recognized during the last 20,000 years: an abrupt increase at the Pleistocene/Holocene boundary, a short-term decrease indicative of a ‘Younger Dryas’-type climate reversal at about 11.4-9.6 ka B.P., the P. obliquiloculata maximum zone (around 7-6 ka B.P.) corresponding to the mid-Holocene climate optimum and the P. obliquiloculata minimum zone (around 4-2 ka B.P.) correlated probably to the Neoglacial cooling. The widespread occurrence of these events in the western Pacific and the correlated variations of its abundance between sea areas suggest that P. obliquiloculata is well promising as a paleoceanographic and climatic monitor for high-resolution reconstruction and sea-land correlation.

Multisensory remote sensing images were achieved with different sensors in different environments; it can result in the ground information difference of the same area. So the high accurate image registration has become a pivotal hotpot problem of remote sensing image fusion research. In order to solve the remote sensing image registration problem with high accurate image registration method, a tiny facet primitive image registration method based on scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) key points is presented in this paper. By introducing the conventional tiny facet primitive method, the SIFT method can rationally solve the detection problem of the registration control points (RCPs) with the key points. Empirical results show that the detection process is with higher performance. The SIFT-based tiny facet primitive method can effectively solve the detection of RCPs and it proved to be an effective method for remote sensing image fusion and high accurate image registration.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of tamoxifen (TAM), methoxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) and their combined treatment on cisplatin-resistant ovarian cancer SKOV3/DDP cells, as well as the potential mechanisms. MTT assay was used to investigate the effect of different concentrations (0.01, 0.1, 1, 10 and 100 μM) of TAM, MPA and their combined treatment on the proliferation of cisplatin-resistant ovarian cancer SKOV3/DDP cells. Flow cytometry was employed to analyze the cell cycle and apoptosis rate of SKOV3/DDP cells treated with medium concentration (10 μM) of TAM, MPA and their combined treatment. Change in the protein level of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in response to drug treatments was measured using Western-blot. The proliferation of SKOV3/DDP cells was inhibited by 1, 10 and 100 μM of TAM or MPA in a dose-dependent manner. Geomagnetism Aided Navigation (GAN) is one of the most important methods to control the error in the INS. An Adaptive Genetic Algorithm applied in geomagnetic marching is proposed in this paper. By adjusting the Crossover Probability and Mutation Probability adaptively according to the value of fitness function, the AGA prevents the Genetic Algorithm from premature convergence or transforms the GA to a random search. Simulation results show that the proposed method can obtain high positioning accuracy and fast calculation. The method is robust.

Introduction Sinus of Valsalva aneurysms (SVA) are rare cardiac anomalies. They may be congenital or acquired and are usually asymptomatic unless complicated by such developments as intracardiac rupture with formation of a fistula or aortic valvular insufficiency. The following case is unusual in that the presenting symptom was angina pectoris due to severe atherosclerotic coronary disease with development of an aneurysm of the sinus of Valsalva secondary to atherosclerotic involvement of the aorta. Case report A 50-year-old male patient presented with 2-week history of increasing exertional chest pain and intermittent chest pain at rest for 1 week. Echocardiography as well as contrast enhanced aorta CT revealed dilatation and irregular protrusion of the right sinus of Valsalva encroaching on right ventricular inflow tract. The aneurysm of the right sinus of Valsalva was about 4.2 cm in diameter. The aortic valve annulus and aortic valve leaflets were normal. Besides that, contrast enhanced aorta CT showed multiple spotted or comma calcification at aneurysm wall, and at the whole range of aorta accompany by irregular intima thickness. In addition, Selective coronary angiography showed 95% discrete diameter stenosis at the proximal segment of right coronary artery. A 50% and a 70% tubular diameter stenosis were separately noted at the proximal segment of left descending artery and at the origin of first diagonal branch. With these findings, severe coronary atherosclerosis combined with unruptured aneurysm of the right sinus of valsalva was diagnosed. Percutaneously coronary intervention (PCI) was successfully performed, and one drug-eluted stent was deployed in the proximal right coronary artery. There was no dissection at the localisation of stent and aortic root. Conclusions In general, the surgical method for treating severe coronary heart disease associated with unruptured SVA generally consists of coronary artery bypass grafting and closure of the opening of the aneurysm. To our knowledge, it is the first report that percutaneously intervention was successfully performed in right coronary artery combined with right sinus of valsalva aneurysm. Thereby, PCI may be an alternative treatment strategy for this clinical situation.

The biogenic silica analysis was performed on 463 samples from ODP 184 Site 1143, the southern South China Sea. The results show that the opal content and MAR evidently increased between 12.3 and 5.7 Ma, which was contemporary with the high carbonate and total MARs, reflecting the high biogenic productivity in the late Miocene. This demonstrates the occurrence of the late Miocene "Biogenic Bloom Event" in the southern South China Sea, corresponding to the late Miocene-early Pliocene "Biogenic Bloom Event" in the Indian-Pacific Ocean. The increases of opal content and MAR after the middle Pleistocene (about 0.7 Ma) is inferred to result from the enhanced upwelling and nutrient supply, which was induced by the intensified monsoon circulation after the "Mid-Pleistocene Revolution".

Thus, miR-375 may serve as a biomarker for the early prediction of T2DM among high-risk individuals. We conducted this clinical study to assess the significance of miR-375 among type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients and their first-degree relatives.Patients and Methods: We included 56 Han Chinese individuals (N: NGT = 21, T2DM = 10, FD-NGT =13 and FD-T2DM = 12) who received medical health check-ups from January 2018 to September 2018 at The Third Hospital of Yunnan Province, China. They were categorized as normal glucose tolerance (NGT), T2DM, first-degree relatives with normal glucose tolerance (FD-NGT) and first-degree relatives with T2DM (FD-T2DM). OGTT, C-peptide and Insulin tests were performed to confirm the diagnosis. The miR-375 levels were determined by Quantitative real-time RT-PCR (qRT-PCR).Results: The OGTT test showed a significant difference in T2DM and FD-T2DM groups compared with NGT and FD-NGT (p< 0.05). Similar results were observed during C-peptide and insulin tests. Interestingly, the 2-hour insulin test showed FD-NGT group having a significantly higher mean ± standard error of (64.240 ± 12.775) compared to NGT (28.836 ± 10.875). Assessment of miR-375 expression levels in 4 groups showed a significant up-regulation in T2DM and FD-T2DM compared with NGT and FD-NGT groups. A slight increase in miRNA expression was observed in FD-NGT compared with NGT group but was not statistically significant. Conclusion: The OGTT, C-peptide and insulin tests revealed a statistically significant difference in T2DM and FD-T2DM compared with NGT and FD-NGT groups. A significantly higher miR-375 expression was also observed in T2DM and FD-T2DM groups compared with NGT and FD-NGT and thus, miR-375 may serve as a stable biomarker for the early prediction of T2DM among high-risk individuals. Keywords: C-peptide, insulin, microRNA-375, OGTT, type 2 diabetes mellitus

Cancer Research ,Oncology - Abstract
Hepatocellular carcinoma is a common solid tumor worldwide and represents the third leading cause of cancer death. Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have poor prognosis because of frequent multi-centric (MC) and intrahepatic metastasis (IM). The discrimination between MC and IM is profoundly important for interpreting tumorigenesis and treatment decision making. However, it is difficult to correctly estimate by histological. Previous studies suggest that HBV integration sites, mitochondrial D-loop mutations, microsatellite loss of heterozygosity (MSI LOH) may provide more accurate information. Paired two tumor lesions and adjacent non-tumor tissues from 10 HBV-position patients were collected for whole genome sequencing. The proportion of shared somatic SNV among the tumor lesions was used to separate MC and IM groups. 4 of 10 patients with shared mutation rate higher than 10% (15.89-49.48%) were identified as IMs. 6 patients with shared mutation rate lower than 10% (0.33-1.97%) were identified as MCs. We also used shared HBV integration rate, mitochondrial D-loop, MSI LOH, diameter ratio to identify IM and MC. The coincidence rates between shared mutation rate and shared HBV integration rate, mitochondrial D-loop, MSI LOH, diameter ratio is 88.89%, 77.78%, 88.89%, and 90%, respectively. It suggests that the diameter ratio of multiple HCCs provide a no-invasion method in clonality analysis. Finally, we developed a panel covering 1M regions to replace whole-genome sequencing to identify IM and MC. We validated the shared mutation rate of target panel region in another 19 whole-genome sequencing HCC patients with multiple tumor lesions from ICGC. A consistent rate of 94.74% in shared mutation rate between target panel region and whole genome region, indicated that for patients with resectable multiple HCCs, sequencing-based molecular diagnosis using somatic single nucleotide variation information showed higher sensitivity compared to previous techniques. And a smaller size of target panel contains adequate information is more cost-effective approach for clinical decision making.
