Background: Septate uterus is a common congenital uterine malformation. It is due to abnormal resorption of the Mullerian canal in embryonic life. Poor reproductive outcomes (e.g., abortion and preterm births) are associated with septate uterus. Aim of the work: The present study aimed to compare scissors and resectoscope regarding the efficacy and safety in resection of uterine septum. Patients and Methods: This study was conducted in the outpatient clinic of Al-Azhar University Hospital (New Damietta) from December 2017 to October 2020. Women were assigned into one of the two groups. The first included fifteen women, who underwent septoplasty by scissor and the Group II included fifteen women who were submitted to septoplasty by bipolar resectoscope. Results: Group (I) had a higher pain score in group I than group II with a significant difference. Mild pain was reported in 10 cases (66.7%) in group I and 4 (26.7%) in group II. However, moderate pain was reported for 5 cases (33.3%) and 11 cases (73.3%) in groups I and II, respectively, with a statistically significant difference. However, both groups were comparable regarding patient characteristics, operative data, postoperative complications and postoperative results of hysteroscopy, three months after the resection of the uterine septum. Conclusion: Scissor is preferred over the bipolar resectoscope especially in thin septum. It is associated with comparable outcome to the bipolar resectoscope. However, bipolar resectoscope was associated with significantly higher pain scores than scissors.

Spatial distribution of groundwater quality is one of the issues that are urgently requested from both the people and decision-makers, especially during the deficiency of water network supply. This work included creating spatial groundwater quality maps on Mosul's left bank. The water quality studied parameters were pH, EC, TDS, Ca2+, Mg2+, K+, Na+, SO42-, HCO3-, NO3-, Cl- and other chemical water quality parameters as well as heterotrophic bacteria. A statistical investigation has been done to evaluate the relationship between these parameters. An inverse distance weighted interpolation model was used to give these parameters a better geographical distribution pattern. The visual groundwater quality models gave an overview of this water source's environmental reality and possible pollution points. The results of this work could be employed as an effective tool in the field of planning and environmental protection of water resources in Mosul City because there is polluted groundwater on the eastern side of Mosul which is polluted by septic tanks and the sewage system

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), which is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV-2), surprised the world in December 2019 and has threatened the lives of millions of people. Countries all over the world closed worship places and shops, prevented gatherings, and implemented curfews to stand against the spread of COVID-19. Deep Learning (DL) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can have a great role in detecting and fighting this disease. Deep learning can be used to detect COVID-19 symptoms and signs from different imaging modalities, such as X-Ray, Computed Tomography (CT), and Ultrasound Images (US). This could help in identifying COVID-19 cases as a first step to curing them. In this paper, we reviewed the research studies conducted from January 2020 to September 2022 about deep learning models that were used in COVID-19 detection. This paper clarified the three most common imaging modalities (X-Ray, CT, and US) in addition to the DL approaches that are used in this detection and compared these approaches. This paper also provided the future directions of this field to fight COVID-19 disease.

OBJECTIVES Postoperative delirium (POD) is a serious complication after cardiac surgery. Use of dexmedetomidine infusion to prevent delirium is controversial. We hypothesized that dexmedetomidine sedation after cardiac surgery would reduce the incidence of POD.METHODOLOGY After the approval from institutional ethics review board and informed consent, a comparative cross sectional study was conducted in 100 patients scheduled for cardiac surgery. Patients suffering from consequential psychological issues, delirium, and grievous dementia were excluded. Delirium was evaluated by confusion assessment method for ICU (CAM-ICU). Normality and homogenity of data were analyzed using Kolmogorov-Sminorv and saphiro wilk. The factors related to delirum status were analyzed using Logistic Regression.RESULTSThe mean age among propofol group was 55.14+9.6 while among Dexmedetomidine was 55.96+12.1. POD was present in 24 of 50 (48%) and 4 of 50 (8.%) patients in propofol and dexmedetomidine groups, respectively. variables which had significance values

Groundwater is an essential natural resource and it has a significant role in the development of dry lands. It is the main source of fresh water in arid and semi-arid regions. The present study investigates groundwater potentiality in the western part of Assiut Governorate, Egypt using advanced remote sensing and geospatial techniques along with hydrological data and field validation. The adopted method provides a low-cost and highly effective tool that can be combined with the conventional land-based approach for mapping Groundwater Potentiality. The study aims to determine the groundwater probability and recharging zones based on the contribution of some physiographic variables that influence groundwater storage. Therefore, multi-sensors remote sensing data from ASTER, Landsat-8, MODIS, Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM), Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM), and Radarsat-1 were accustomed to extract several geospatial thematic layers (variables). These layers include elevation, slope, curvature, drainage density, topographic wetness index, surface roughness, frequency of thermal anomaly, accumulated precipitation, Land Use/Land Cover (LULC), and lineament density. The produced layers are then scaled and weighted based on their contributions to the recharge of near-surface (unconfined) groundwater aquifers through infiltration and percolation processes. The Simple Additive Weight (SAW) method was utilized to aggregate all the weighted layers for creating the Groundwater Potentiality map. This aggregated grouped map was then classified into 5 classes, from very high to very low groundwater potentiality zones. The results show that the high Groundwater Potentiality was associated with low terrain, high surface ruggedness, high drainage and lineament densities, and relatively close to thermal anomalies in wadi deposits, and adjacent sandy areas. The remote sensing results were validated using comprehensive field observations including, pumping tests, water wells data, and vegetation patterns in the study area. The study concluded that a groundwater possibility map based on geospatial techniques and remote sensing data can provide a robust tool in groundwater exploration, and consequently, it can be adopted elsewhere in arid regions.

Screen-printing and spray-coating methods were used to produce photoluminescent, water-repellent, and antimicrobial films on textile fibers. The cotton fabrics were firstly finished with a flame-resistant agent. There are a number of functional agents that have been applied during the textile finishing process, including strontium aluminate pigment as antibacterial and photoluminescent agent, flame-retardant organophosphate, and water-repellent silicone rubber. The current research investigated the surface morphologies and chemical compositions of the screen-printed and spray-coated fabric cottons using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (WDXRF), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). According to morphological analysis, the phosphor nanoparticles had sizes ranging from 2 to 12 nm. After excitation at 399 nm, the generated colorless photoluminescent layer deposited onto cotton surface showed an emission profile at 516 nm. The luminescence spectra and CIE Lab characteristics confirmed that the phosphor-coated textiles displayed a white color in visible spectrum and green emission in the presence of UV light. It has been shown by analysis that the tested colors are very stable over time. The measurements of static water contact and sliding angles were also explored. The self-extinguishing activity of the coated fabrics retained their flame-retardant properties over 24 laundry cycles. Antimicrobial activity, hydrophobicity, and luminous properties were improved without affecting the intrinsic physical and mechanical features of the treated textiles. Details on the CIE Lab colorimetric measurements were discussed. The stiffness and air permeability were examined to explore the flexibility and breathability of the treated textile fibers. Excellent reversibility and photostability were seen in the phosphor-coated materials.

One of the negative impacts of the pandemic on creative culture is new limitations imposed on interactive performance in theatrical production. Producers resorted to digitality to explore the potentials of smart staging. A new play titled Brilliant Mind is a case in point for its innovative use of digital alternatives to maintain interactive performativity in what the producers describe as “live theatre in digital landscapes”. The play was digitally performed online in 2021, and members of the audience were allowed to digitally explore parts of the set and interact with characters. This paper examines the play’s use of digital performativity as a form of mediation for pandemic-era theatre by unpacking its digital interactive strategies. The authors offer a close textual and visual analysis of their experience as audience members in addition to employing theatrical principles of psychodrama, as well as concepts of affect theory as an approach to visual communication.

OBJECTIVE To examine the mechanisms responsible for the increase in glucose and ketone production caused by empagliflozin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Twelve subjects with T2DM participated in two studies performed in random order. In study 1, endogenous glucose production (EGP) was measured with 8-h infusion of 6,6,D2-glucose. Three hours after the start of 6,6,D2-glucose infusion, subjects ingested 25 mg empagliflozin (n = 8) or placebo (n = 4), and norepinephrine (NE) turnover was measured before and after empagliflozin ingestion with 3H-NE infusion. Study 2 was similar to study 1 but performed under pancreatic clamp conditions. RESULTS When empagliflozin was ingested under fasting conditions, EGP increased by 31% in association with a decrease in plasma glucose (−34 mg/dL) and insulin (−52%) concentrations and increases in plasma glucagon (+19%), free fatty acid (FFA) (+29%), and β-hydroxybutyrate (+48%) concentrations. When empagliflozin was ingested under pancreatic clamp conditions, plasma insulin and glucagon concentrations remained unchanged, and the increase in plasma FFA and ketone concentrations was completely blocked, while the increase in EGP persisted. Total-body NE turnover rate was greater in subjects receiving empagliflozin (+67%) compared with placebo under both fasting and pancreatic clamp conditions. No difference in plasma NE concentration was observed in either study. CONCLUSIONS The decrease in plasma insulin and increase in plasma glucagon concentration caused by empagliflozin is responsible for the increase in plasma FFA concentration and ketone production. The increase in EGP caused by empagliflozin is independent of the change in plasma insulin or glucagon concentrations and is likely explained by the increase in NE turnover.

يدرس البحـث واقـع قطـاع التجـارة الخارجيـة فـي الاقتصـاد العـراقي خـلال المـدة 2017-2021. تكمن أهمية البحث في دراسته لواقع قطاع التجارة الخارجية في العراق، وهو من الموضوعات التي تبحث في قضايا التجارة والعلاقات الاقتصادية الدولية، إذ يعتمد الاقتصاد العراقي على التجارة الخارجية للحصول على العملة الصعبة من خلال تصدير النفط. يهدف البحث الى دراسة تطورات واردات وصادرات الاقتصاد العراقي خلال فترة الدراسة، فضلاً عن تحليل الأصناف السلعية التي يصدرها العراق ويستوردها وبيان الأهمية النسبية لكل منهما، فضلاً عن اقتراح مجموعة من التوصيات الممكنة لتقليل الواردات وزيادة الإنتاج المحلي. يستند البحث على فرضية تفيد بأن عائدات تصدير النفط الخام تشكل نسبة كبيرة نسبياً من إجمالي قيمة الصادرات العراقية، وإن انخفاض أسعار النفط سيعرض الاقتصاد العراقي لمخاطر كبيرة، مما يوجب ضرورة السعي نحو تحقيق التنويع الاقتصادي الهادف إلى النهوض بالزراعة والصناعة. اعتمد البحث على المنهج الاستقرائي والاستنباطي من خلال تحليل البيانات الإحصائية والمؤشرات المالية والاقتصادية للحصول على النتائج وتحليلها اقتصادياً. توصل البحث إلى عدد من النتائج، أهمها ارتفاع قيمة عائدات الصادرات العراقية من (57.5) مليار دولار عام 2017 إلى (86.4) مليار دولار عام 2018، كما انخفضت خلال عام 2020 فبلغت (46.8) مليار دولار، نتيجةً لانخفاض أسعار النفط. كما أظهر البحث أن نسبة الصادرات النفطية تمثل (99٪) من إجمالي صادرات العراق خلال مدة البحث، وهذا يعكس انهيار القطاعات الإنتاجية غير النفطية، كما أظهر البحث ازدياد قيمة واردات العراق من السلع الأجنبية من مستوى (32.9) مليار دولار خلال عام 2017 إلى مستوى (58.1) مليار دولار خلال عام 2019، انخفضت خلال عام 2020 لتسجل (48.2) مليار دولار، ثم سجلت (40.7) مليار دولار عام 2021، نتيجة لانخفاض أسعار النفط، أشار البحث إلى أن الفائض التجاري للعراق بين الأعوام 2017 و2018 أزداد من (24.6) مليار دولار الى (40.7) مليار دولار، ثم انخفضت قيمة الفائض إلى (23.4) مليار دولار خلال عام 2019. ثم سجل الميزان التجاري عجز خلال عام 2020 بلغت قيمته (-1.4) مليار دولار، ليعود الفائض مرة أخرى خلال عام 2021 مسجلاً قيمة بلغت (32.1) مليار دولار، كما بين البحث أن الواردات العراقية تتركز في سلع المحروقات النفطية والآلات والمعدات، وأخيراً أظهر البحث ارتباط الاقتصاد العراقي بالعالم الخارجي بدرجة كبيرة، وفق معايير الارتباط التجاري، وأظهرت نسبة عالية من الانكشاف الخارجي للاقتصاد العراقي ككل.

SummaryThe objective of the current study was to investigate the influence of synergism of the dry powder of Alpinia galanga rhizomes (AGR) and/or zinc sulfate in the diet on semen quality and reproductive traits of California rabbit bucks. The study was conducted in two stages. First stage: appreciation of semen characteristics, 36 California rabbit bucks (aged 5 months) with average body weights of 2980 g were divided randomly into six treatments (six individuals each). The treatment groups were: first group, control fed basal diet (C); second group, fed basal diet plus 1 g AGR/kg dry matter (DM) (AGR1); third group, fed basal diet plus 2 g AGR/kg DM (AGR2); fourth group, fed basal diet plus 200 mg Zn/litre drinking water (Zn); fifth group, fed basal diet plus 1 g AGR/kg DM and 200 mg Zn/litre drinking water (AGR1 + Zn); sixth group, fed basal diet plus 2 g AGR/kg DM and 200 mg Zn/litre drinking water (AGR2 + Zn). Second stage: the previous bucks were used to determine the efficiency of semen on reproductive fertility traits, 48 mature does (aged 6 months, nulliparous) with an average body weight of 3050 ± 20.7 g were divided randomly into six treatments and inseminated with previous groups of treated bucks. The results of the first stage, recorded high activity on gonadotropins hormones: follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), free testosterone (FT), progesterone (P4) and oestrogen (E217β) concentrations for AGR1 + Zn and AGR2 + Zn compared with the control group. Groups AGR1, AGR2, AGR1 + Zn and AGR2 + Zn had significantly lowered concentrations of triglycerides, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein, and malondialdehyde (MDA), whereas high-density lipoprotein and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) were increased significantly compared with the control group. The group supplemented with AGR with or without Zn had significantly improved ejaculate volume, advanced motility, sperm concentration, and cell integrity. Fertility rate and litter size were improved in all groups compared with the control. It was concluded that supplementing diets with Alpinia galanga and Zn significantly increased sperm percentage, motility and reproductive hormones (testosterone, FSH, LH, E217β, P4). This suggested that this plant when used may be favourable for improved sperm quality and fertility parameters.

This research aims at laying out some basic features of question design in presidential press conferences to describe their use to convey adversarial proposition. Underlying some of the observations is the suggestion that the innovation in question design can be an important element of social change in the political interviews context, and broadcast journalism more generally. It is hypothesized that present-day press conferences and political interviews differ from those of the past in their aggressiveness, and this can be conveyed through question design.For this study, two U.S. presidents George W. Bush (2001-2009) and Harry S. Truman (1945-1953) were selected. Four press conferences were sampled and analyzed. Two press conferences for each president, and each question is analyzed in terms of three basic aspects of adversarialness in question design (a) Question Complexity, (b) Assertiveness, and (c) Accountability.

Objectives Toll-like receptor-4 (TLR-4) activation plays a major role in triggering oxidative stress (OS) and inflammation implicated in the pathogenesis of ulcerative colitis (UC). Due to sophorolipids (SLs) antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, they are interestingly becoming more valued for their potential effectiveness in treating a variety of diseases. This study was designed to explore the effect of SLs produced by microbial conversion of Moringa oleifera oil cake using isolated yeast Yarrowia lipolytica against UC induced by acetic acid (AA) in rats. Methods The produced SLs were identified by FTIR, 1H NMR and LC-MS/MS spectra, and administered orally for 7 days (200 mg/kg/day) before AA (2 ml, 4% v/v) to induce UC intrarectally on day eight. Biochemically, the levels of TLR-4, c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), nuclear factor kappa B-p65 (NFκB-p65), interleukin-1beta (IL-1β), malondialdehyd, glutathione, Bax/Bcl2 ratio and the immunohistochemical evaluation of inducible nitric oxide synthase and caspase-3 were assayed. Key findings SLs significantly reduced OS, inflammatory and apoptotic markers in AA-treated rats, almost like the reference sulfasalazine. Conclusions This study provided a novel impact for SLs produced by microbial conversion of M. oleifera oil cake against AA-induced UC in rats through hampering the TLR-4/p-JNK/NFκB-p65 signalling pathway.

The Landau-Ginzburg-Higgs (LGH) equation explains the ocean engineering models, superconductivity and drift cyclotron waves in radially inhomogeneous plasma for coherent ion-cyclotron waves. In this paper, with a simple modification of the Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur (AKNS) formalism, the integrability of LGH equation is proved by deriving the Lax pair. Hence for that, the inverse scattering transformation (IST) is applied, and the travelling wave solutions are obtained and graphically represented in 2d and 3d profiles.
