3-Acetyl-4-phenylaminopyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-2-one has been synthesized from acetoacetic acid N-(pyrid-2-yl)amide and phenylisocyanate and converted on heating into 3-acetyl-2-phenylaminopyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-4-one.

New chelating ligands, N-(pyrid-2-yl)amides of 4,4,4-trichloro-3-amino-2-cyanocrotonic acid have been synthesized from N-(pyrid-2-yl)amides of cyanoacetic acid and CCl3CN. It has been demonstrated that by the action of butylthiodibutylborane they form binuclear boron chelate complexes. Analogous chelates have also been obtained from the N-(pyrid-2-yl)amides of acetoacetic and 4,4,4-trichloro-3-aminocrotonic acids.

4-Methylthiopyrido[1,2-α]pyrimidin-2-one and 2-hydroxypyrido[1,2-α]pyrimidine-4-thione derivatives were synthesized by the addition ofN-(4-R-pyrid-2-yl)acetoacetamides (R = H, Me) to CS2 under phase-transfer conditions followed by the alkylation of the reaction products with Mel. The molecular structure of 3-acetyl-4-methylthiopyrido[1,2-α]pyrimidin-2-one is established by X-ray analysis.

3-Acetyl-4-phenylaminopyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-2-one has been synthesized from acetoacetic acid N-(pyrid-2-yl)amide and phenylisocyanate and converted on heating into 3-acetyl-2-phenylaminopyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-4-one.

Complexes of 2-(2-halogenoidethyl)-1-boraadamantanes with tetrahydrofuran and pyridine have been synthesized by the hydroboration-isomerization of 3-methoxy-7-(3-halogenoidpropyl)-3-borabicyclo[3.3.1]non-6-enes. 2. 4-Chloro-, and 2-(2-halogenoidethyl)-, and 2-(2-trimethylammoniumethyl)-1-boraadamantane ate-complexes undergo self-induced 1,3-elimination, resulting in the formation of substituted 3-borabicyclo[3.3.1]nonanes containing a cyclopropane fragment.

The palladation of N-phenylbenzamidine by Pd2+ salts proceeds at the Ph-N group with the formation of a six-membered palladium ring (PR) and not at the Ph-C group with the formation of a five-membered ring. 2. The carbonylation of the PR of (I) under mild conditions gave 2-phenyl-(3H)-quinazolin-4-one.
