Regulatory T cells (Tregs) prevent autoimmunity and contribute to cancer progression. They exert contact-dependent inhibition of immune cells through the production of active transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1). However, the absence of a specific surface marker makes inhibiting the production of active TGF-β1 to specifically deplete human Tregs but not other cell types a challenge. TGF-β1 in an inactive form binds to Tregs membrane protein GARP and then activates it via an unknown mechanism. Here, we demonstrate that TRAF3IP3 in the Treg lysosome is involved in this activation mechanism. Using a novel naphthalenelactam-platinum-based anticancer drug (NPt), we developed a new synergistic effect by suppressing ABCB9 and TRAF3IP3-mediated divergent lysosomal metabolic programs in tumors and human Tregs to block the production of active GARP/TGF-β1 for remodeling the tumor microenvironment. Mechanistically, NPt is stored in Treg lysosome to inhibit TRAF3IP3-meditated GARP/TGF-β1 complex activation to specifically deplete Tregs. In addition, by promoting the expression of ABCB9 in lysosome membrane, NPt inhibits SARA/p-SMAD2/3 through CHRD-induced TGF-β1 signaling pathway. In addition to expose a previously undefined divergent lysosomal metabolic program-meditated GARP/TGF-β1 complex blockade by exploring the inherent metabolic plasticity, NPt may serve as a therapeutic tool to boost unrecognized Treg-based immune responses to infection or cancer via a mechanism distinct from traditional platinum drugs and currently available immune-modulatory antibodies.

By employing thiazole and 4-chlorothiazole as the A′ units, two A-D-A′-D-A type nonfused-ring electron acceptors (NFREAs) Tz-H and Tz-Cl were designed and synthesized. Replacing thiazole in Tz-H with 4-chlorothiazole can not only remarkably shorten the synthetic route through C-H direct arylation but also enhance molecular planarity with the simultaneous incorporation of S···N and S···Cl non-covalently conformational locks (NoCLs). The photovoltaic devices based on PM6:Tz-Cl exhibited a power conversion efficiency as high as 11.10%, much higher than that of PM6:Tz-H (6.41%), mainly due to more efficient exciton dissociation, better and more balanced carrier mobility, less charge recombination, and more favorable morphology. These findings demonstrate the great potential of NoCLs in achieving low-cost and high-performance NFREAs.

Aspect level sentiment classification aims to extract fine-grained sentiment expressed towards specific aspects from a sentence. The key to this task lies in connecting aspects and their respective sentiment contexts. Existing methods measure the dependency weights between aspects and context words via either the semantic similarity between words captured by attention mechanism or the structural proximity between words in syntactic structures. However, methods in both groups fail to fully exploit explicit syntactic dependency, which we argue should be critical to identify sentiment contexts. In this paper, we propose a novel syntactic-dependency-based attention network (SDATT) to incorporate explicit syntactic dependency for aspect level sentiment classification. SDATT first models the dependency path between each word and the aspect to characterize aspect-oriented syntactic representation of each word. The generated syntactic representations are later fed into the attention layer to help infer the dependency weights for sentiment prediction. Experimental results on five benchmark datasets show the superior performance of the proposed model over state-of-the-art baselines.

Small molecule organic photovoltaics (SMPVs) were prepared by utilizing liquid crystalline donor material BTR-Cl and two similar optical bandgap non-fullerene acceptor materials BTP-BO-4F and Y6. The BTP-BO-4F and Y6 have the similar optical bandgap and different absorption coefficients. The corresponding binary SMPVs exhibit different short circuit current density (JSC) (20.38 vs. 23.24 mA cm−2), and fill factor (FF) (70.77% vs. 67.21%). A 14.46% power conversion efficiency (PCE) is acquired in ternary SMPVs with 30 wt% Y6, companied with a JSC of 24.17 mA cm−2, a FF of 68.78% and an open circuit voltage (VOC) of 0.87 V. The improvement on PCE of ternary SMPVs should originate from the well trade-off between phase separation and photon harvesting of ternary active layers by incorporating 30 wt% Y6 in acceptors. This work may deliver insight onto the improved performance of SMPVs by superposing the superiorities of binary SMPVs with similar optical bandgap acceptors into one ternary cell.

When considering the problem of influence maximization from information cascades, one essential component is influence estimation. Traditional approaches for influence estimation generally follow a two-stage framework, i.e., learn a hypothetical diffusion model from information cascades and then calculate the influence spread according to the learned diffusion model via Monte Carlo simulation or heuristic approximation. The effectiveness of these approaches heavily relies on the correctness of the diffusion model, suffering from the problem of model misspecification. Meanwhile, these approaches are inefficient when influence estimation is conducted via lots of Monte Carlo simulations. In this paper, without assuming a diffusion model a priori, we directly learn a monotone and submodular influence function from information cascades. Once the influence function is obtained, greedy algorithm is applied to efficiently solve influence maximization. Experimental results on both synthetic and real-world datasets show the effectiveness and efficiency of the learned influence function for both influence estimation and influence maximization tasks.

Aim The study aimed to identify the underlying differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and mechanism of unstable atherosclerotic plaque using bioinformatics methods. Methods GSE120521, which includes four unstable samples and four stable atherosclerotic samples, was downloaded from the GEO database. DEGs were identified using LIMMA. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses of DEGs were performed using the Database for metascape Visualization online tool. Based on the STRING database, protein–protein interactions (PPIs) network among DEGs were constructed. Regulatory networks were visualized using Cytoscape. We use the xCell to analyze the different immune cell subtypes. Results A total of 1626 DEGs (1034 up-regulated and 592 down-regulated DEGs) were identified between unstable and stable samples. I pulled 62 transcription factors (34 up-regulated TFs and 28 down-regulated TFs) from the Trust database. The up-regulated TFs were mainly enrichment in positive regulation of myeloid leukocyte differentiation, and the down-regulated TFs were mainly enrichment in connective tissue development. In the PPI network, RB1, CEBPA, PPARG, BATF was the most significantly up-regulated gene in ruptured atherosclerotic samples. The immune cell composition enriched in CD cells and macrophages in the unstable carotid plaque. Conclusions Upregulated RB1, CEBPA, PPARG, BATF and down-regulated SRF, MYOCD, HEY2, GATA6 might perform critical promotional roles in atherosclerotic plaque rupture, furthermore, number and polarization of macrophages may play an important role in vulnerable plaques.

According to the model of sliding ferroelectricity we proposed in 2017, a type of vertical polarization switchable via interlayer sliding may exist in a series of two-dimensional van der Waals bilayers and multilayers. Such intriguing ferroelectricity has been recently experimentally confirmed in BN and WTe2 bilayer/multilayer systems. However, they are respectively insulators and metals with weak polarizations. Here, we search for a combination of high-mobility semiconductors and ferroelectricity with relatively high polarizations, and we note that MoSi2N4 monolayer has been recently fabricated to centimeter scale based on MoN2 monolayer (Science 2020, 369, 670). We show first-principles evidence of strong interlayer sliding ferroelectricity in high-mobility semiconducting MoA2N4 (A = Si or Ge) bilayers and multilayers. They possess tunable bandgaps within the desirable range for nanoelectronics, with the current highest polarizations in sliding ferroelectrics known to date due to strong interlayer van der Waals interactions. Such a successful combination of these properties may render the long-sought and efficient computing-in-memory possible. Their high polarizations induce strong Moire potential and unique band alignments for exciton trapping in twisted MoA2N4 bilayer. The varying charge distribution of different stacking in MoN2/MoSi2N4 hetero-bilayer also gives rise to a high alternating voltage when used as a nanogenerator, suggesting promising potential for energy harvesting.

Over 200 nm thickness of active layers are essential for achieving efficient organic photovolatics (OPVs) using the roll-to-roll (R2R) large-scale production technology. In this study, a series of OPVs with 300 nm thick active layers were prepared with PM6:BTP-4F-12:BP-4F as active layers. The PM6:BTP-4F-12- and PM6:BP-4F-based binary OPVs achieve power conversion efficiencies (PCE) of 14.62% and 14.14%, respectively, with 300 nm thick active layers, also exhibiting complementary photovoltaic parameters. A PCE of 15.63% is achieved by the optimized ternary thick-film OPVs by combining the superiorities of two binary thick-film OPVs, deriving from a short circuit current density (JSC) of 26.57 mA cm−2, an open circuit voltage (VOC) of 0.840 V and a fill factor (FF) of 70.03%. The performance improvement of ternary thick-film OPVs should be mainly ascribed to the optimized molecular arrangement and phase separation for efficient charge transport in ternary thick active layers, which can be confirmed from the significantly improved FFs of ternary thick-film OPVs. This study indicates that the ternary strategy has great potential in preparing efficient thick-film OPVs.

T-regulatory (Treg)/T-helper 17 (Th17) imbalance is associated with preeclampsia (PE). Herein, we aimed to explore the effect and mechanism of lncRNA NEAT1 on the Treg/Th17 balance. The levels of nuclear enriched abundant transcript 1 (NEAT1), miR-485-5p, and absent in melanoma 2 (AIM2) in CD4+ T cells were determined using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Treg and Th17 cells were examined using flow cytometry. The relationship between miR-485-5p and NEAT1 or AIM2 was assessed using a dual-luciferase reporter assay. Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used to analyze the correlation. All the data indicated that NEAT1 was upregulated in PE. The number of Treg cells decreased and was negatively related to NEAT1, whereas the number of Th17 cells increased and was positively related to NEAT1 in PE. Knockdown of NEAT1 increased the Treg cells and Treg/Th17 but decreased Th17 cells. Furthermore, NEAT1 sponges miR-485-5p to suppress the target AIM2 levels. Inhibition of miR-485-5p or upregulation of AIM2 abrogated the effect on Treg/Th17 balance induced by knockdown of NEAT1. In conclusion, silencing of NEAT1 promoted Treg/Th17 balance via the miR-485-5p/AIM2 axis in PE, suggesting that NEAT1 is a potential target for the treatment of PE.

Semitransparent organic solar cells (OSCs) were fabricated with a broad bandgap polymer D18-Cl as the donor (D), narrow bandgap small molecule Y6-1O as the acceptor (A) and ultra-narrow bandgap material Y6 as the third component. A power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 14.92% can be obtained from opaque OSCs with D18-Cl:Y6-1O (1.1 : 1.6, wt/wt or 0.7 : 1.6, wt/wt) as active layers, which is due to the dependence of the three well-balanced photovoltaic parameters on D18-Cl content in the active layer. It should be highlighted that the average visible transmittance (AVT) of blend films can be markedly enhanced from 30.3% to 47.3% with decrease in D:A from 1.1 : 1.6 to 0.7 : 1.6 (wt/wt), which is highly conducive to the preparation of semitransparent OSCs. Keeping the D:A as constant (0.7 : 1.6, wt/wt), 16.05% PCE is achieved in opaque ternary OSCs with D18-Cl:Y6-1O:Y6 (0.7 : 0.8 : 0.8, wt/wt) as the active layers, resulting from the slightly increased JSC of 23.21 mA cm−2 and FF of 76.74%. The AVT of the corresponding ternary blend films is also improved to 50.1%. Semitransparent ternary OSCs are fabricated with Au (1 nm)/Ag (20 nm, 15 nm, 10 nm) replacing 100 nm Ag as the electrode. A PCE of 13.02%, an AVT of 20.2% and light utilization efficiency of 2.63% are obtained from the semitransparent OSCs with Au (1 nm)/Ag (10 nm) as the electrode. This work indicates that adjusting D:A weight ratio and employing a ternary strategy should have great potential in simultaneously improving the PCE and AVT of semitransparent OSCs, especially using a wide bandgap polymer as the donor.

Iridium-based polymer PM6Ir1 as an electron donor and two nonfullerene materials N3 and ITIC-Th as electron acceptors were selected to prepare efficient polymer solar cells (PSCs). ITIC-Th was used as the third component to enhance photon harvesting and as a morphology regulator to optimize molecular arrangement and phase separation in the ternary active layer. Improvements in open circuit voltage (0.86 V vs. 0.84 V), short circuit current density (26.53 mA cm−2vs. 26.13 mA cm−2) and fill factor (75.47% vs. 74.11%) are simultaneously obtained for the PSCs with 10 wt% ITIC-Th in the acceptor mixture, leading to a power conversion efficiency (PCE) enhancement from 16.27% to 17.22%. The charge mobility and charge transport balance in the ternary active layer can be enhanced by incorporating ITIC-Th, resulting from the optimized phase separation and molecular arrangement with ITIC-Th as a morphology regulator. The positive effect of ITIC-Th incorporation on PCE improvement can be demonstrated by the relatively high external quantum efficiency values of the optimal ternary PSCs in the spectral range from 300 to 820 nm.

Maize refers to one of the major food crops worldwide. Its yield has a direct effect on global food security. Moreover, cultivated lands in the world have been undergoing serious degradation. In the present study, field experiments were performed in the middle of Jilin, China. A novel maize cultivating method, combining drip irrigation under film mulch cultivation and high photosynthetic efficient cultivation, is presented. NUE, WUE, accumulated temperature, plant growth and yield were determined in high photosynthetic efficient cultivation with drip irrigation under mulch and with there being under the mulch transparent and black film, respectively. As revealed from the results, the high photosynthetic efficient cultivation based on drip irrigation cultivation could increase the yield of rain-fed treatment by 53%; high photosynthetic efficient cultivation with drip irrigation under film mulch cultivation could also improve NUE and WUE compared with conventional drip irrigation under film mulch cultivation; transparent mulch could more significantly raise the soil temperature than black mulching, as well as improving the maize yield. The present study presents a novel planting mode in accordance with reliable theory to sustainably develop maize.

Runoff and soil erosion are serious environmental issues in farmland management. In a field experiment in Xingmu, China, data from nine plots with different slopes and crops were collected, and the crops' leaf area index (LAI) used to represent the impact of vegetation on runoff and soil erosion. The results show that slope and crop both have significant effects on runoff and soil erosion, and that the LAI can indicate the effects of different crops.

Ternary strategy has been considered as an efficient method to achieve high performance polymer solar cells (PSCs). A power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 17.22% is achieved in the optimized ternary PSCs with 10 wt% MF1 in acceptors. The over 8% PCE improvement by employing ternary strategy is attributed to the simultaneously increased JSC of 25.68 mA cm−2, VOC of 0.853 V and FF of 78.61% compared with Y6 based binary PSCs. The good compatibility of MF1 and Y6 can be confirmed from Raman mapping, contact angle, cyclic voltammetry and morphology, which is the prerequisite to form alloy-like state. Electron mobility in ternary active layers strongly depends on MF1 content in acceptors due to the different lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) levels of Y6 and MF1, which can well explain the wave-like varied FF of ternary PSCs. The third-party certified PCE of 16.8% should be one of the highest values for single bulk heterojunction PSCs. This work provides sufficient references for selecting materials to achieve efficient ternary PSCs.

Background Common chronic infections induced low-grade inflammation has been correlated with atherosclerosis as supported by strong evidence. The balance between pro-and anti-inflammatory factors was exploited to elucidate the effects of chronic periodontitis on diabetes-associated atherosclerosis. Methods Study subjects encompassed 30 SPF male rats randomly divided into four groups: A group (NC), B group (T2DM), C group (CP), D group (DM + CP). After developing the model, blood samples were collected from the angular vein analyze serum APN, hs-CRP, and blood lipid. the carotid artery was isolated for HE staining. Result Compared with group A, the serum APN in group B, C and D decreased gradually with the progression of the disease. Serum hs-CRP in group B, C and D was significantly increased. At T3, T4 and T5 in group B, C and D, APN/hs-CRP significantly decreased. TC, LDL and TG significantly increased in group B, D; HDL significantly decreased in group C. Carotid artery HE staining showed: compared with group A, different degrees of endothelial defect, destruction of elastic fibers in the middle membrane, disorder of smooth muscle arrangement, and partial dissolution 、 fragmentation and Calcium salt deposition necrosis occurred in group B, C and D. Conclusion Enhanced systemic inflammation, decreased adiponectin level, and disorganized lipid metabolism with or without type 2 diabetes attributed to local inflammation of periodontitis can result in an imbalance of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory effects. Therefore, it’s more meaningful to predict the progression of DAA with anti-inflammatory/pro-inflammatory variation.

Periodontal infections are related to the expansion of diabetes cardiovascular problems. However, the pathological process and probable mechanism remain unexplained. This study investigated the impact of periodontitis on streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetes rats' carotid artery.We randomized 24 Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats into four groups: control, chronic periodontitis (CP), diabetes mellitus (DM), and DM +CP groups. Fasting blood glucose (FBG) and hemoglobin ACompared with DM and CP groups, bone resorption and pathological changes of the vascular wall were the most serious in the DM+CP group. The vascular wall of the DM+CP group had a higher level of interleukin (IL)-6 and vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM-1). The carotid artery vascular wall of the DM+CP group contained more cells that expressed both mesenchymal and endothelial cell markers, along with elevated transcription factor levels. Furthermore, P.g-LPS and HG upregulated the inflammatory cytokines expression and caused phenotypic changes of HUVECs in vitro.Periodontitis exacerbates endothelial dysfunctions partly via endothelial-mesenchymal transition in STZ-induced diabetes rats.

Platinum (Pt) drugs have developed rapidly in clinical applications because of their broad and highly effective antitumor effects. In recent years, with the rapid development of immunotherapy, Pt-based antitumor agents have gained new challenges and opportunities. Since the discovery of their pharmacological effects in immunotherapy and tumor microenvironment regulation, research into Pt drugs has progressed to multi-ligand and multi-functional Pt precursors and their own shortcomings have been further highlighted. With the development of antitumor immunotherapy and the rise of combination therapy, the development of Pt-based drugs has started to move in the direction of multi-targeting, nanocarrier modification, immunotherapy and photodynamic therapy. In this paper, we first overview the recent applications of Pt-based drugs in antitumor inorganic chemistry, with a focus on summarizing the application of Pt-based drugs and their precursors in the anticancer immune response. The paper also provides a reasonable outlook on the future development of Pt-based drugs from the chemical and immunological perspectives, relying on the existing content and problems of Pt-based drug development. On the basis of the gathered information, joint multidisciplinary programs on implementing comprehensive immune analyses for the future development of novel anticancer metal compounds should be initiated.

Platinum-based antitumor drugs have been used in many types of tumors due to its broad antitumor spectrum in clinic. Encouraged by the cisplatin's (CDDP) worldwide success in cancer chemotherapy, the research in platinum-based antitumor drugs has evolved from traditional platinum drug to multi-ligand and multifunctional platinum prodrugs over half a century. With the rapid development of metal drugs and the anticancer immune response, challenges and opportunities in platinum drug research have been shifted from traditional platinum-based drugs to platinum-based hybrids and the direction of development is tending toward photodynamic therapy, nano-delivery therapy, drug combination, targeted therapy, diagnostic therapy, immune-combination therapy and tumor stem cell therapy. In this review, we first exhaustively overviewed the role of platinum-based antitumor prodrugs and the anticancer immune response in medicinal inorganic chemistry based on the special nanomaterials, the modification of specific ligands, and the multiple functions obtained that are beneficial for tumor therapy in the last five years. We also categorized them according to drug potency and function. There hasn't been a comprehensive evaluation of precursor platinum drugs in prior articles. And a multifarious approach to distinguish and detail the variety of alterations of platinum-based precursors in various valence states also hasn't been summarized. In addition, this review points out the main problems at the interface of chemistry, biology, and medicine from their action mechanisms for current platinum drug development, and provides up-to-date potential strategies from drug design perspectives to circumvent those drawbacks. And a promising idea is also enlightened for researchers in the development and discovery of platinum prodrugs.

Ternary organic photovoltaics (OPVs) were constructed with one wide-band-gap donor PM6 and two A-D-A-type acceptors (M-series M36 and MQ5) with similar chemical structures. Power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the optimal ternary OPVs reaches 17.24% with 20 wt % MQ5 content, arising from a simultaneously increased short circuit current density (JSC) of 25.36 mA cm-2 and a fill factor (FF) of 76.02% as compared to those of two binary OPVs. The photon harvesting of ternary active layers can be maximized by adjusting the MQ5 content by reason of the complementary absorption spectra of M36 and MQ5. The molecular arrangement of PM6 and M36 can be collectively optimized by introducing an appropriate amount of MQ5 as a morphology regulator for facilitating effective charge transportation in ternary active layers. The improved photon harvesting and charge transport in active layers should be two important factors responsible for JSC and FF improvement of optimal ternary OPVs, respectively. More than an 8.8% improvement of PCE is achieved in ternary OPVs with an appropriate amount of MQ5 as the photon-harvesting enhancer and morphology regulator. The huge potential of A-D-A-type materials in constructing highly efficient OPVs can be further exploited based on a ternary strategy.

A ternary strategy has been demonstrated as a promising method to further boost the performance of organic solar cells (OSCs). Herein, an efficient polymer donor S3 was synthesized and incorporated into a PM6:Y6 system to fabricate ternary OSCs. S3 possesses complementary absorption spectra and good compatibility with PM6, which is beneficial to fine-tune the photon harvesting and morphology of the ternary blend films, resulting in simultaneous enhancement of the short-circuit current density (JSC) and fill factor (FF). In addition, the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy level of S3 is slightly lower than that of PM6, which enables lower nonradiative energy loss in ternary OSCs compared with that of PM6-based binary OSCs, leading to higher open-circuit voltage (VOC). The optimized ternary OSCs with 20 wt% S3 in the donors achieve a PCE of 17.53%, which should be among the highest values of ternary OSCs. This work provides an effective approach to fabricate high-performance ternary OSCs by synergizing two well-matched polymer donors.

The ternary strategy exhibits great potential in optimizing the photon harvesting and phase separation of active layers. In this work, non-fullerene MF1 was selected as the third component to prepare efficient ternary organic solar cells (OSCs) by finely optimizing the MF1 content in the acceptors. The optimized power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 15.31% is achieved in the ternary OSCs with 20 wt% MF1 content in the acceptors and 100 nm active layer thickness, also exhibiting a relatively high fill factor (FF) of 78.05%. The relatively high FF indicates efficient charge transport and collection in the optimized ternary OSCs, which should be beneficial to achieve efficient thick-film OSCs. It is highlighted that a PCE of 14.57% is achieved in the optimized ternary OSCs with 300 nm thick active layers compatible with the roll-to-roll (R2R) large-scale printing process. To date, high performance thick-film ternary non-fullerene OSCs have seldom been reported. This work indicates that the thick-film ternary strategy has great potential in achieving efficient large-scale OSCs.

A series of organic photovoltaics (OPVs) were prepared by using J71 as the donor and non-fullerene materials, namely, BTP-BO-4Cl or ITIC or their mixture as the acceptor. The BTP-BO-4Cl- and ITIC-based binary OPVs exhibited power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of 11.63% and 10.46%, respectively, resulting from the different open-circuit voltages (VOCs) of 0.881 V vs. 0.941 V, short-circuit current densities (JSCs) of 22.88 mA cm−2vs. 15.39 mA cm−2 and fill factors (FFs) of 57.79% vs. 72.34%. Meanwhile, BTP-BO-4Cl and ITIC exhibited apparently complementary photon harvesting ranges, which were conducive to improving the photon harvesting of ternary active layers with different ITIC contents in the acceptors. An optimized PCE of 13.65% was achieved from the ternary OPVs with 60 wt% ITIC content in the acceptors, mainly benefiting from the markedly increased VOC and FF, compared with that for the BTP-BO-4Cl-based binary OPVs. Over 17% improvement in PCE was obtained by incorporating 60 wt% ITIC in the acceptors, indicating that the ternary strategy can be an efficient and simple method to improve the performance of OPVs.

Due to their unique merits, asymmetrical fused-ring electron acceptors (FREAs) have received increasing attention in the field of organic photovoltaics (OPVs). Herein, we designed and synthesized an asymmetrical FREA, namely AY6, by employing a cross-conceptual strategy which combines the structural features of asymmetrical IT6-4F with high-performance Y6. Compared to Y-shape Y6, X-shape AY6 shows poor crystallization properties and thus a significantly blue-shifted absorption. However, it is precisely because of this unfavorable self-stacking effect that AY6 has an opportunity to pack with PM6 and form a new intermixed phase. As a result, the PM6:AY6 blend film exhibits a perfect face-on orientation with stronger π–π stacking than the PM6:Y6 blend film, which facilitates efficient exciton dissociation and balanced carrier transport, and therefore higher FF. In general, such a cross-conceptual design strategy is an effective method which not only boosts the efficiency of asymmetrical FREA-based OSCs but also increases the fill factors of OSCs based on Y6-like FREAs.

Nutrient (total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP)) are considered the major indicators to be impacted by wind speed in shallow lakes and reservoirs. As a reservoir situated in Jilin Province, China, Yangshapao Reservoir has been employed for irrigation and urban water use. After 2 years’ observation carried out on water quality and wind speed, it was found that the TN, NH4 and TP are significantly correlated with the bottom shear stress attributed to wind, whereas the dissolved phosphorus (DP) is not. Bottom shear stress is also noticeably associated with dissolved oxygen (DO), thus promoting nutrient release into the water body. In winter, ice can effectively inhibit the wind-induced shear stress, and the TP concentration is evidently lower than in the other seasons. This scenario should be considered in the management of the water quality of the lake and similar lakes.

Ternary organic photovoltaics (OPVs) are fabricated with PBDB-T-2Cl:Y6 (1:1.2, wt/wt) as the host system and extra PC71BM as the third component. The PBDB-T-2Cl:Y6 based binary OPVs exhibit a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 15.49% with a short circuit current ( J SC) of 24.98 mA cm−2, an open circuit voltage ( V OC) of 0.868 V and a fill factor (FF) of 71.42%. A 16.71% PCE is obtained in the optimized ternary OPVs with PBDB-T-2Cl:Y6:PC71BM (1:1.2:0.2, wt/wt) active layer, resulting from the synchronously improved J SC of 25.44 mA cm−2, FF of 75.66% and the constant V OC of 0.868 V. The incorporated PC71BM may prefer to mix with Y6 to finely adjust phase separation, domain size and molecular arrangement in ternary active layers, which can be confirmed from the characterization on morphology, 2D grazing incidence small and wide-angle X-ray scattering, as well as Raman mapping. In addition, PC71BM may prefer to mix with Y6 to form efficient electron transport channels, which should be conducive to charge transport and collection in the optimized ternary OPVs. This work provides more insight into the underlying reasons of the third component on performance improvement of ternary OPVs, indicating ternary strategy should be an efficient method to optimize active layers for synchronously improving photon harvesting, exciton dissociation and charge transport, while keeping the simple cell fabrication technology.

The mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) provides important information for better understanding the phylogenetic relationships within heteropteran infraorder Cimicomorpha (Hemiptera: Heteroptera), but there are still limited representations at the family level of Anthocoridae. Here we sequenced the complete mitogenome of Tetraphleps aterrimus. It is 15,803 bp in size, and contains the expected 37 genes (13 PCGs, 22 tRNAs and 2 rRNAs) and control region. Gene order is identical to that of typical cimicomorphans. In comparison with other cimicomorphans, the ratios of Ka/Ks are increasing from 0.17 for COI to 0.85 for ATP8, which demonstrates COI shows the lowest evolutionary rate, while ATP8 appears to be the highest. The ratios of conserved sites of COI is the highest, while ATP8 is the lowest, suggesting that the evolutionary rate of ATP8 is higher than COI. The phylogenetic relationships based on mitogenomes using Bayesian inference (BI) and Maximum likelihood (ML) methods show that Tetraphleps aterrimus is sister to (Orius niger + Orius sauteri), suggesting that Tetraphleps aterrimus belongs to Anthocoridae. The monophyly of each superfamily is generally well supported and Reduvioidea is placed as basal branch in Cimicomorpha. The results support the remaining superfamily groupings (Miroidea + (Cimicoidea + (Velocipedoidea + Nabioidea))).

Biothiols, such as glutathione (GSH), homocysteine (Hcy) and cysteine (Cys), are important biomarkers and play crucial roles in many physiological processes. Thus, the detection of biothiols is highly important for early diagnosis of diseases and evaluation of disease progression. Herein, new types of BODIPY-based fluorescent probes (probe 1, probe 2 and probe 3) capable of cysteine (Cys)/homocysteine (Hcy) sensing with high selectivity over other amino acids were developed. In addition, we further studied the influence of different electronegativity substituents on these probes to sensing Cys/Hcy. Ultimately, we concluded that the electron withdrawing group on probe 1 can accelerate the probe response to Cys/Hcy, and probe 1 was successfully applied for selective imaging Cys/Hcy in living cells.

The variation of the vertical component distribution can significantly influence the photovoltaic performance of organic solar cells (OSCs), mainly due to its impact on exciton dissociation and charge-carrier transport and recombination. Herein, binary devices are fabricated via sequential deposition (SD) of D18 and L8-BO materials in a two-step process. Upon independently regulating the spin-coating speeds of each layer deposition, the optimal SD device shows a record power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 19.05% for binary single-junction OSCs, much higher than that of the corresponding blend casting (BC) device (18.14%). Impressively, this strategy presents excellent universality in boosting the photovoltaic performance of SD devices, exemplified by several nonfullerene acceptor systems. The mechanism studies reveal that the SD device with preferred vertical components distribution possesses high crystallinity, efficient exciton splitting, low energy loss, and balanced charge transport, resulting in all-around enhancement of photovoltaic performances. This work provides a valuable approach for high-efficiency OSCs, shedding light on understanding the relationship between photovoltaic performance and vertical component distribution.

The key challenge of cross-domain context-dependent text-to-SQL generation tasks lies in capturing the relation of natural language utterance and SQL queries in different turns. A line of works attempt to combat this challenge by capturing the overlaps among consecutively generated SQL queries. Existing models sequentially generate the SQL query for a single turn and model the SQL overlaps via copying tokens or segments generated in previous turns. However, they are not flexible enough to capture various overlapping granularities, e.g., columns, filters, or even the whole query, as they neglect the intrinsic structures inhabited in SQL queries. In this paper, we employ tree-structured intermediate representations of SQL queries, i.e., SemQL, for SQL generation and propose a novel subtree-copy mechanism to characterize the SQL overlaps. At each turn, we encode the interaction questions and previously generated trees as context and decode the SemQL tree in a top-down fashion. Each node is either generated according to SemQL grammar or copied from previously generated SemQL subtrees. Our model can capture various overlapping granularities by copying nodes at different levels of SemQL trees. We evaluate our approach on the SParC dataset and the experimental results show the superior performance of our model compared with state-of-the-art baselines.

Aspect sentiment triple extraction aims to extract all aspects, opinions, and sentiments in a sentence and pair them into triples. The main challenge lies at mining the dependency between the aspect and corresponding opinion with the specific sentiment. Existing methods capture the dependency via either pipeline framework or collapsed sequence labeling model. However, the pipeline framework may suffer from error propagation, while collapsed tags cannot deal with complex pairing situations where the overlap or long dependency exists. In this paper, we propose a novel semantic-syntax cascade injection model (SSCIM) to address above issues. SSCIM adopts a cascade framework with joint training schema, where its lower layer extracts the aspects and injects those aspects into the upper layer to extract opinion and sentiment simultaneously. Such design is inspired by the fact that the sentiment is often conveyed in opinions, and the joint training schema alleviates error propagation effectively. Moreover, a novel semantic-syntax information injection gate (IIG) is designed to bridge the upper and lower layers of our model, enabling SSCIM to better capture the dependency between aspects and opinions. Experimental results on four benchmark datasets demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed model over state-of-the-art baselines.

A series of ternary organic photovoltaics (OPVs) are fabricated with one wide bandgap polymer D18-Cl as donor, and well compatible Y6 and Y6-1O as acceptor. The open-circuit-voltage (VOC) of ternary OPVs is monotonously increased along with the incorporation of Y6-1O, indicating that the alloy state should be formed between Y6 and Y6-1O due to their excellent compatibility. The energy loss can be minimized by incorporating Y6-1O, leading to the VOC improvement of ternary OPVs. By finely adjusting the Y6-1O content, a power conversion efficiency of 17.91% is achieved in the optimal ternary OPVs with 30 wt% Y6-1O in acceptors, resulting from synchronously improved short-circuit-current density (JSC) of 25.87 mA cm−2, fill factor (FF) of 76.92% and VOC of 0.900 V in comparison with those of D18-Cl : Y6 binary OPVs. The JSC and FF improvement of ternary OPVs should be ascribed to comprehensively optimal photon harvesting, exciton dissociation and charge transport in ternary active layers. The more efficient charge separation and transport process in ternary active layers can be confirmed by the magneto-photocurrent and impedance spectroscopy experimental results, respectively. This work provides new insight into constructing highly efficient ternary OPVs with well compatible Y6 and its derivative as acceptor., By employing the well compatible Y6 : Y6-1O as acceptor and wide bandgap polymer D18-Cl as donor, the PCE of 17.91% is achieved in optimized ternary OPVs, resulting from the simultaneously improved JSC, FF and VOC.

The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 13.00% was achieved in PBDB-T:Y16-based polymer solar cells (PSCs). On this basis, PCE of ternary PSCs was improved to 14.11% by incorporating 15 wt% MeIC1 in acceptors, resulting from simultaneously enhanced short circuit current (JSC) of 22.76 mA cm−2 and fill factor (FF) of 68.22%. The observed 14.11% PCE is among the highest values for all ternary PSCs. Y16 and MeIC1 preferred to form an alloyed acceptor due to good compatibility, which is beneficial to the formation of efficient electron transport channels in ternary active layers. Photon harvesting, exciton dissociation and charge transport could be synergistically optimized by incorporating 15 wt% MeIC1 in the acceptors. The optical field and photogenerated exciton distribution in active layers were calculated according to their intrinsic properties, which could provide more intuitive evidence of JSC and FF improvement. The photogenerated exciton distribution in active layers could also be optimized by employing a ternary strategy, which was beneficial for better balance charge collection efficiency and for achieving high FF of the ternary PSCs. This work further demonstrates that ternary strategies have great potential for improving the PSC performance by simultaneously optimizing photon harvesting and photogenerated exciton distribution in active layers.

Social network platforms have gradually transformed into social media in recent years, which greatly eases information diffusion. Meanwhile, it also makes the task of popularity prediction for online information more challenging. Traditional popularity prediction methods include supervised methods based on feature engineering and popularity dynamics modeling methods based on stochastic processes. The latter group of methods has drawn a wide attention as it works better for predicting individual items popularity. However, the existing methods have ignored the decentralization characteristic of diffusion cascades. In this paper, we investigate the decentralized structure of diffusion cascades, based on the Weibo dataset, and propose to model cascade dynamics by mixing a bunch of reinforced Poisson processes (RPP). The overall diffusion cascade is a mixture of several sub-cascades, each of which can be modeled by RPP. Experimental results on real world datasets demonstrate our proposed models superiority in both characterizing popularity dynamics and predicting future popularity.

Based on Staudinger ligation, a novel ESIPT-based fluorescent probe 2-[2′-(ortho-diphenylphosphinophenyl) carboxyphenyl]benzothiazole (CBT) was developed for detection of organic azides with the detection limit of 227 nM. The probe has shown selective and sensitive response to organic azides over other non-azido analytes. The probe was used as a fluorescence turn-on chemosensor for phenyl azide in living hepatoma SMMC-7721 cells, indicating its potential application for detection of organic azide derivatives in biological systems. Moreover, the probe provides a very convenient method to qualitatively monitor the formation of organic azides by TLC staining experiments.

Ternary-blend organic solar cells (TOSCs) are fabricated with PM6:BTP-4F-12 as the host system and IT-M as the third component. The third component IT-M takes multiple roles in improving performance of TOSCs through reducing energy-loss of the optimized TOSCs, optimizing molecular arrangement and phase separation in active-layers. The well optimized molecular arrangement and phase separation can be beneficial to charge separation and transport in TOSC, which can be confirmed by the characterization of 2D grazing incidence wide-angle X-ray scattering, transmission electron microscopy, magneto-photocurrent, as well as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. By finely optimizing IT-M content, a power-conversion-efficiency (PCE) of 17.71% is achieved in the optimized TOSCs, benefiting from simultaneously enhanced short-circuit-current density (JSC) of 25.95 mA cm−2, open-circuit-voltage (VOC) of 0.875 V and fill-factor (FF) of 78.02% in comparison with the OSCs with PM6:BTP-4F-12 as active-layers. Furthermore, average PCE over 15% can be achieved from twenty individual TOSCs with active-layer thickness of 300 nm, indicating the optimized TOSCs have excellent thickness tolerance.

Biological thiols, especially low molecular weight thiols, including cysteine (Cys), homocysteine (Hcy) and glutathione (GSH), play a pivotal role in physiological and pathological systems. Thus, the detection of biothiols is highly important for early diagnosis of diseases and evaluation of disease progression. Herein, we developed a highly selective and sensitive ratiometric fluorescent 8-Cl BODIPY-based probe with high fluorescence quantum yields. The probe displayed a sensitive response to Cys and Hcy over other biothiols, which can be visualized colorimetrically and/or fluorescently. The probe was successfully applied to detect Cys in human plasma, demonstrating its great value for practical application in biological sample analysis.

Although the rapid development of polymer solar cells (PSCs) has been achieved, it is still a great challenge to explore efficient ways for improving power conversion efficiency (PCE) of PSCs from materials and device engineering. Ternary strategy has been confirmed as an efficient way to improve PCE of PSCs by employing three kinds of materials. In this work, one polymer donor PM6, and two non-fullerene materials N3 and MF1 are selected to prepare ternary PSCs with layer-by-layer (LbL) or bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) structure. The LbL and BHJ-PSCs exhibit PCEs of 16.75% and 16.76% with 15 wt% MF1 content in acceptors, corresponding to over 5% or 4% PCE improvement compared with N3-based binary PSCs with LbL or BHJ structure. The PCE improvement is mainly attributed to the fill factor enhancement from 73.29% to 76.95% for LbL-PSCs or from 74.13% to 77.51% for BHJ-PSCs by employing the ternary strategy. This work indicates that ternary strategy has great potential in preparing highly efficient LbL-PSCs via simultaneously optimizing molecular arrangement and the thickness of each layer.

Tamibarotene (Am80) has good curative effect on advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). To improve the therapeutic efficacy furtherly, we prepared tamibarotene-loaded PLGA microspheres (Am80-PLGA-MS) for intratumoral injection. Firstly, Am80-PLGA-MS were prepared by emulsion-solvent evaporation method. Subsequently, microspheres were characterized by particle size analysis, drug loading (DL), and entrapment efficiency (EE). Finally, the drug release characteristics in vitro, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamics were studied separately. According to results obtained, microspheres were spherical with a uniform particle size 7.04 ± 0.03 μm and its EE and DL were 82.23 ± 0.74 and 11.74 ± 0.11%, respectively. In vitro, Am80-PLGA-MS can release drug for 14 days and its release behavior was fitted with the Higuchi equation. In pharmacokinetic studies, the t1/2β, MRT, and AUC of microspheres were 15.43-fold, 8.62-fold, and 9.98-fold those of Am80 solution, respectively, which revealed that the utilization of drug was improved obviously. The pharmacodynamics studies showed that the tumor doubling time, growth inhibition rate, and specific growth rate of tumor of Am80-PLGA-MS were 1.34 times, 2.63 times, and 0.72 times those of drug solution, respectively, indicating that the inhibitory effect on tumor by the microspheres was significantly improved. In summary, Am80-PLGA-MS are promising carrier to enhance the inhibitory effect on tumor, which will provide significantly clinical value for treatment of HCC.
