This study performed catalytic depolymerization of alkali lignin over Ni-based catalysts. Effects of different promoters (Zr and W), Ni loadings, reaction temperatures, and the addition of formic acid and catalyst on lignin conversion and products distribution were all investigated. The result showed that the highest oil yield (40.1% (mass)) was obtained at 240 °C over Ni1.2/γ-Al2O3 promoted by Zr and W species. Quantitative analysis indicates that Zr and W species prefer to lignin depolymerization while Ni active phase prefer to hydrodeoxygenation and hydrogenation. The interconversion of products derived from lignin depolymerization was determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometer, which demonstrated that phenolic compounds were dominant products in all lignin derived bio-oils, wherein the proportion of vanillin was highest (65.7%) at 180 °C, while that of alkyl guaiacols increased with the increase of temperature (from 12.45% at 180 °C to 66.67% at 240 °C). Residual lignin obtained after lignin depolymerization was also investigated for detecting differences on functional groups, wherein the disappearing peaks at 1511 cm–1 (stretching of aromatic rings), 1267, 1215 and 1035 cm–1 (vibrations of guaiacyl and syringyl units) were detected by Fourier transform infrared spectrometry. Additionally, the higher O/C ratio measured by elemental analysis also confirmed that alkali lignin was depolymerized effectively under mild conditions.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is known as a central nervous system disorder. Previous studies suggested that long-non-coding RNA RMRP (LncRNA RMRP) was abnormally expressed in SCI, but the potential underlying mechanism remains to be further explored. To explore the regulatory roles of LncRNA RMRP/miR-766-5p/FAM83A axis in SCI. Spinal T9 hemisection was performed on healthy adult male Sprague Dawley (SD) rats to establish the SCI rat models. The expressions of LncRNA RMRP in spinal cord of rats in different groups were examined by RT-qPCR. Moreover, AGE1.HN and PC12 cells were treated with hypoxic condition, and expression of LncRNA RMRP was examined by RT-qPCR methods. Furthermore, hypoxic PC12 cells were transfected with LncRNA RMRP OE, and the cell viability, proliferation, and apoptosis were examined. Next, the direct targeting relationship between LncRNA RMRP and miR-766-5p, as well as miR-766-5p and FAM83A, was confirmed by dual-luciferase reporter and RNA pull-down assays. Finally, the effects of LncRNA RMRP/miR-766-5p/FAM83A axis on cell viability, proliferation, and apoptosis were examined. LncRNA RMRP was downregulated in SCI rats and over-expression of LncRNA RMRP alleviated the SCI condition. LncRNA RMRP over-expression increased the viability and proliferation, and inhibited the apoptosis of hypoxic PC12 cells in vitro. miR-766-5p was confirmed as a target of LncRNA RMRP, and FAM83A was confirmed as a target of miR-766-5p. LncRNA RMRP could regulate the proliferation and apoptosis of hypoxic PC12 cells via regulating miR-766-5p/FAM83A axis in vitro. LncRNA RMRP may contribute to the pathogenesis of SCI via regulating miR-766-5p/FAM83A axis.

The magnetic transition, thermal property, and the distance of Mn–Mn of Mn3Ga0.3Sn0.7N compound with the Sn element substitution of Ga in Mn3GaN compounds were investigated. Magnetic measurements indicate that the existence of spin glass system at high temperature (502 K) in Mn3Ga0.3Sn0.7N compound may be attributed to competing antiferromagnetic (AFM) and ferromagnetic (FM) interactions due to the doped Sn inducing ferromagnetic orders in Mn3GaN and the partially random Sn substitute Ga at a corner site of the lattice. It is not clear how much role the pure Sn power, which is not doped into Ga site completely, played in inducing the magnetic characteristic. This finding will be helpful to reveal the mechanism of the antiperovskites’ intriguing physics properties and to develop more smart materials.

In the past decade, automatic product description generation for e-commerce have witnessed significant advancement. As the services provided by e-commerce platforms become diverse, it is necessary to dynamically adapt the patterns of descriptions generated. The selling point of products is an important type of product description for which the length should be as short as possible while still conveying key information. In addition, this kind of product description should be eye-catching to the readers. Currently, product selling points are normally written by human experts. Thus, the creation and maintenance of these contents incur high costs. These costs can be significantly reduced if product selling points can be automatically generated by machines. In this paper, we report our experience developing and deploying the Intelligent Online Selling Point Extraction (IOSPE) system to serve the recommendation system in the JD.com e-commerce platform. Since July 2020, IOSPE has become a core service for 62 key categories of products (covering more than 4 million products). So far, it has generated more than 1.1 billion selling points, thereby significantly scaling up the selling point creation operation and saving human labour. These IOSPE generated selling points have increased the click-through rate (CTR) by 1.89% and the average duration the customers spent on the products by more than 2.03% compared to the previous practice, which are significant improvements for such a large-scale e-commerce platform.

INTRODUCTION: Differences in healthcare utilization and medical expenditures associated with perinatal depression are estimated. METHODS: Using the MarketScan Multi-State Medicaid Database, the analytic cohort included individuals aged 15–44 years who had an inpatient live birth delivery hospitalization between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2018. Multivariable negative binomial regression models were used to estimate the differences in utilization associated with perinatal depression, and multivariable generalized linear models were used to estimate the differences in expenditures associated with perinatal depression. Analyses were conducted in 2021. RESULTS: The cohort included 330,593 individuals. Nearly 17% had perinatal depression. Compared with individuals without perinatal depression individuals with perinatal depression had a larger number of inpatient admissions (0.19, 95% CI=0.18, 0.20), total inpatient days (0.95, 95% CI=0.92, 0.97), outpatient visits (14.02, 95% CI=13.81, 14.22), emergency department visits (1.70, 95% CI=1.66, 1.74), and weeks of drug therapy covered by a prescription (28.70, 95% CI=28.12, 29.28) and larger total expenditures ($5,078, 95% CI=$4,816, $5,340). Non-Hispanic Black individuals had larger differences in utilization and expenditures for inpatient services and outpatient visits but smaller differences in utilization for pharmaceutical services associated with perinatal depression than non-Hispanic White individuals. Hispanic individuals had larger differences in utilization for outpatient visits but smaller differences in utilization for pharmaceutical services associated with perinatal depression than non-Hispanic White individuals. CONCLUSIONS: Individuals with perinatal depression had more healthcare utilization and medical expenditures than individuals without perinatal depression, and differences varied by race/ethnicity. The findings highlight the need to ensure comprehensive and equitable mental health care to address perinatal depression.

Previous studies have identified intense climatic change in the Southern Ocean. However, the response of ACC transport to climate change is not fully understood. In this study, by using in-situ ocean bottom pressure (OBP) records and five GRACE products, long-term variations of ACC transport are studied. Our results confirm the reliability of GRACE CSR mascon product in ACC transport estimation at the Drake Passage. Superimposed on interannual variability, ACC transport exhibits an obvious increasing trend (1.32±0.07Sv year-1) during the GRACE era. Based on results of a mass-conservation ocean model simulation, we suggest that the acceleration of ACC is associated with intensified westerly winds and loss of land ice in Antarctica.

The rising global burden of cancer has driven considerable efforts into the research and development of effective anti-cancer agents. Fortunately, with impressive advances in transcriptome profiling technology, the Connectivity Map (CMap) database has emerged as a promising and powerful drug repurposing approach. It provides an important platform for systematically discovering of the associations among genes, small-molecule compounds and diseases, and elucidating the mechanism of action of drug, contributing toward efficient anti-cancer pharmacotherapy. Moreover, CMap-based computational drug repurposing is gaining attention because of its potential to overcome the bottleneck constraints faced by traditional drug discovery in terms of cost, time and risk. Herein, we provide a comprehensive review of the applications of drug repurposing for anti-cancer drug discovery and summarize approaches for computational drug repurposing. We focus on the principle of the CMap database and novel CMap-based software/algorithms as well as their progress achieved for drug repurposing in the field of oncotherapy. This article is expected to illuminate the emerging potential of CMap in discovering effective anti-cancer drugs, thereby promoting efficient healthcare for cancer patients.

Aim The aim of this study was to explore the experience and perceptions of patients with Crohn’s disease in China. Methods Data mining was used to investigate posts in Crohn’s disease online medical communities. The data were collected through the crawler code, and latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) and grounded theory were used to mine the theme features after data cleaning. Results In analyzing the topic characteristics of online posts, LDA divided 6757 posts into 15 topics on four aspects: seeking disease information, making decisions on medication use, psychological burden, and communicating about diet and nutrition. Conclusion Overall, social media is patient-centric and helps us better understand the experiences and perceptions of patients. This study can help medical staff predict the thoughts and concerns of Crohn's disease patients during the treatment process, facilitate doctor-patient communication, and assist in the formulation of medical policies.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects about 2% of children. Due to the shortage of clinicians, there is an urgent demand for a convenient and effective tool based on regular videos to assess the symptom. Computer-aided technologies have become widely used in clinical diagnosis, simplifying the diagnosis process while saving time and standardizing the procedure. In this study, we proposed a computer vision-based motion trajectory detection approach assisted with machine learning techniques, facilitating an objective and effective way to extract participants’ movement features (MFs) to identify and evaluate children’s activity levels that correspond to clinicians’ professional ratings. The designed technique includes two key parts: (1) Extracting MFs of participants’ different body key points in various activities segmented from autism diagnostic observation schedule (ADOS) videos, and (2) Identifying the most relevant MFs through established correlations with existing data sets of participants’ activity level scores evaluated by clinicians. The research investigated two types of MFs, i.e., pixel distance (PD) and instantaneous pixel velocity (IPV), three participants’ body key points, i.e., neck, right wrist, and middle hip, and five activities, including Table-play, Birthday-party, Joint-attention, Balloon-play, and Bubble-play segmented from ADOS videos. Peach encodes 14 INDETERMINATE DOMAIN (IDD) transcription factors. PpIDD4, -12 and -13 mediated PpDELLA1 binding to the PpGA20ox1 promoter. Each of these three PpIDD-DELLA1 complexes activated transcription of PpGA20ox1. PpTPR1 and -4 interrupted the interaction of PpIDDs with PpDELLA1. The plant growth regulator gibberellin (GA) plays an important role in the rapid growth of annual shoots in peach. Our previous study showed that the peach cultivar 'FenHuaShouXingTao' (FHSXT), a gibberellic acid receptor (gid1) mutant, accumulates active GAs in annual shoot tips. This mutant enhances GA feedback regulation in peach. The results of this study suggested that the PpIDD-DELLA1 complex is the underlying mechanism of GA feedback regulation in peach. Fourteen IDD genes were identified in peach, and three PpIDDs (PpIDD4, -12 and -13, all from group IV) interacted with PpDELLA1, an important component in GA signaling pathway. Truncation, segmentation and site mutation of the promoter of PpGA20ox1 (a GA biosynthesis gene) showed that all three PpIDD proteins recognized the core motif TTGTC. PpIDD4 and -13 mainly bind to site 3, while PpIDD12 binds to site 5 of the PpGA20ox1 promoter. All three PpIDD-DELLA1 complexes activated the PpGA20ox1 promoter-LUC fusion. These data suggested that PpIDDs bridge PpDELLA1 and the promoter of PpGA20ox1, which then activated the transcription of PpGA20ox1. In addition, PpTPR1 and -4 disrupted the interaction of PpIDDs with PpDELLA1. Our research will be helpful for understanding and possibly modifying the regulation of annual shoot growth and GA biosynthesis.
