Complex forms may be easily created with additive manufacturing methods, but managing surface roughness remains a difficulty, even for flat surfaces, because surface quality is dependent on numerous parameters. This research investigates the effect of some printing factors on surface roughness in 3D printing methods. The purpose of this study is to quantify the most influential input printing factors on surface roughness in 3D printing processes. Polyacrylic acid thermoplastic was used to print workpieces, and mathematical models were generated using the regression method to analyze the relationship between process parameters and surface roughness. The exponential model fits the experimental data slightly better than the linear model. Only Ra-90 met all surface roughness classification requirements, while surface roughness measurements in the 0 and 45-degree directions did not meet the requirements and cannot be used to describe the surface roughness. The study highlights the importance of considering input printing parameters when optimizing surface roughness in 3D printing processes, providing valuable insights into the impact of process parameters on surface roughness.

Hyperactivity is a mental health disorder that causes drastic fluctuation level of concentration and hyperactivity (Snyder, 2006). People with hyperactivity have difficulty concentrating, sitting position, in dedicating attention, stay organized, following instructions, memorizing the details and management of impulsiveness (Smith, 2016). Participants were from primary school students in Kosovo, N=200 Children age 9-11 and N=200 parents, they completed the following instruments, PSDQ questionnaire; (Robinson, Mandleco, Olsen, & Hart, 2001) this instruments was for measuring parenting styles, and Children behavioral checklist version for parents (Achenbach and Rescorla, 2007). The results shown that hyperactivity of children was positively correlated with authoritarian and tolerant parenting styles. In the survey results show that 74.0% of children participate in extra-curricular activities, and 26.0% did not participate in extra-curricular activities.Regression analysis explain 32% of variance for hyperactivity factor as a depended variable predicted by Gender and authoritarian parenting style. Also male has higher mean of hyperactivity than female and results was significantly different with p=.030* Conclusion is that parents who set strict rules authoritarian parents and tolerant parents can have a hyperactive children. Usually there is no need for special treatment for parents, already they have to be empathic with their children, collaboration with peers, relatives and parent-child cooperation which will give positive effect.

This paper attempts to argue whether the repetition of the object or clitic doubling as a syntactic mechanism affects the encoding of the information structure in the Albanian language. In three previous studies by Kallulli (2000, 2008); Kapia (2010), it is reported that direct object clitic doubling is not an optional phenomenon in the Albanian language, that direct object clitic doubling systematically produces and encodes the information structure, and that clitic doubled objects are interpreted as topics. Thus, the object and the clitic have the status of topic in the sentence, as doubling occurs when the clitic refers to the already present discourse referent. That is, the NP is previously introduced in the discourse, thus becoming a specific referent available to be later selected via the doubling mechanism. In addition, according to them, when the object bears the topic feature, the direct object doubling is obligatory. Unlike Kallulli (2000, 2008) and Kapia (2010, 2012), Buchholz & Fiedler (1987) draw different conclusions, according to which the direct object clitic doubling in the Albanian language may be optional if the word order is canonical (SVO). This paper, on the other hand, aims at proving whether the object clitic doubling in our corpus marks the information structure by giving the feature [+ topic] or [-focus].

Introduction; Dental trauma can be defined as an injuryto the oral region including the lips, teeth, periodontal tissues, tongue and/or alveolar processes. The aims of management will depend on the age of the patient, type of tooth (primary or permanent) and the extent of the injuries. The treatment varies from preserving the tooth,extraction of the tooth and immediate implant placement. Immediate implantation is defined as placement of the implant into alveolus of the extracted teeth immediately after extraction. Materials and methods; A 45-year-old patient, suffered teethand dental bridge fracture and injury during car accident.Immediate teeth extraction was performed and immediate implantation with bone ridge preservation was performed, to rehabilitate the lost teeth. Patient underwent successfully for prosthetic rehabilitation 8 months after these procedures. Conclusion; Affected traumatized teeth often have areduced prognosis and, in some instances, may requireextraction. The majority of dental trauma is initially seenwithin a primary rather than secondary care setting. General dental practitioners should therefore be able to effectively manage the most common dental injuries, and to referthe complicated ones to oral surgeon. Dental implants are reliable to replace teeth lost because of traumatic dental injury. The timing of implant placement may be immediate,early, conventional, or late and is determined by the extent of the trauma, remaining growth, and conditions of the hardand soft tissues.

Community pharmacies deliver an essential healthcare service, which is broadly established, encompassing the favored and primary contact for community members. The COVID-19 pandemic is continuing to shift the pharmacy roles and services in order to meet the needs of customers. The important value of community pharmacies was more underlined during the pandemic crisis when they were supposed to undertake abundant precautions to avoid cross-infection among users of the space. Their responsibility is also to create a compatible, efficient, and safe environment inside their premises during this outbreak. The built environment is an important share of pandemic solutions and emergency planning preparations.The aim of this paper was to explore the preparedness of community pharmacies in Kosovo for the COVID-19 outbreak in regards to pharmacy design modifications while ensuring adequate medicine management, information, and public health. Consequently, at what stage can the pandemic affect the physical and built environment of pharmacies.The methods for this study include a cross-sectional survey of 104 community pharmacies operating in seven municipalities in Kosovo during the pandemic. Data collection was conducted from October 1 to October 14, 2021, using self-administered online questionnaires. The questionnaire consisted of a combination of closed and open-ended questions, optional statements, and multiple answers. Data were analyzed in SPSS for Windows version 20 using descriptive statistics.The results show that communities should be prepared ahead in regard to the emergency situations and some of these preparations might be also part of the legislation requirements. Although the pandemic exposed many errors in the Kosovo community pharmacy system, it has also discovered a unique possibility for collaboration and novelty.The study concludes with the recommendation for the architectural design of pharmacies to be positioned as an active mediator in the fight against the COVID 19, with a critical lesson aimed at the flexibility of the space to accommodate emergent situations and create alternative areas for use.

Summary The objective of this work was to investigate the levels of photosynthetic pigments, antioxidant enzyme activities (superoxide dismutase [SOD], catalase [CAT], peroxidase [POX], ascorbate peroxidase [APX], glutathione reductase [GR], and MDA), total glutathione (GSH), total ascorbate (AsA), and lipid peroxidation of two spinach cultivars (Clipper and Matador) sampled in different locations in Kosovo (Prizren, Ferizaj, and Obiliq). The photosynthetic pigments, chlorophyll a and b as well as carotenoids, were extracted by 80% acetone, and concentrations were calculated based on the absorbance values at 663, 645, and 480 nm. There was a significant difference in SOD, APX, and GR activities between varieties at each location. The MDA and AsA contents in Obiliq were the highest, compared to other locations. From the increase in lipid peroxidation level, it can be assumed that the degradation in pigment content was caused by the decrease in total AsA content and APX and GR enzyme activities, which are the main enzymes of the AsA–GSH cycle in chloroplasts.

The demand for community involvement during the planning process is growing. Kosovo, to be in step with global development trends in the field of planning, has developed various projects in the name of public participation. The pilot project for the Brekoci informal settlement in Gjakova is an example of community-based planning. The purpose of this paper is to show the way of community involvement through unique methods explicitly designed for this community, as the tool “Express”, “Mark” and “Vote” and how the data obtained from these tools through spatial systems as Geographical Information System and DepthMapX, have generated the community's vision, which has resulted in the drafting of the urban regulatory plan. This plan represents a reflection of the local cultural context.

The primary purpose of the paper is to present research analysis which aims to recognize the art of Kosovan piano music through analysis for interpretation as a relatively new discipline born in the late �90s that today in the world counts numerous publications. The qualitative-descriptive methodology is used in this paper. It entails interpreting and analyzing music, with a focus on Rauf Dhomi�s Opus �70 Pieces for Piano�. Many European countries have previously experienced the splendor and enchantment of the Renaissance, but Kosovo is currently undergoing a true Renaissance following its independence in 2008. The general characteristics of the Kosovan Renaissance have been reflected in less than twenty years, with a clean impetus and energy that has built through time in the entire nation, includingall aspects of life, and thus the sphere of art, and the magical world of music. Despite the challenges that the Kosovan artist has faced in the past, he still has the ability to overlook themin favor of the beautiful and magical. That is why the Renaissance�s magic lives on now, granting many artists in the arts, such as instrumentalists, vocalists, and composers, a well- deserved place in Europe�s and the world�s most prominent stages.

Introduction: Spontaneous pneumothorax (SPT) is surgically treated with two different techniques: Video Assisted Thoracoscopy (VATS) or open thoracotomy (OT). Despite the different invasiveness of the techniques, literature gives controversial results in correlation of the techniques to the clinical outcomes (like length of hospital stay (LOHS), recurrences of the pneumothorax, duration, collection of the drains and etc). of our study was to analyze perioperativ The aim e clinical features in patients that underwent SPT treatment surgically. Materials and methods: prospectively, we evaluated data of patients treated for SPT in two-year period at the University clinic for thoracic surgery in Skopje. Patients were divided into VATS group and OT group, according to the surgical technique used for treatment. In both groups we analyzed demographical, laboratory data, duration of the chest drains presence, early inammatory markers and total LOHS. Patients with recurrent pneumothorax, older than 70 years with severe cardiological impairment were excluded. Results: The study included 42 patients, 23 patients (54.8%) underwent VATS treatment and 19 patients (45.2%) underwent OT. In both groups more patients were male. VATS group of patients showed nonsignicant difference in postoperative laboratory and inammatory ndings, nonsignicantly lower presence of the drains in terms of days, signicantly lower drain uid collections for the rst 3 days and signicantly shorter LOHS compared to the OT group. Conclusion: Our study has showed that patients treated for spontaneous pneumothorax with VATS have shorter length of hospital stay, shorter chest drain presence and overall show better outcome.

Buildings that were once the machinery of production, and influencing not only the economic but also the social relations of the inhabitants, and while now those spaces remain 'dead,' it questions and at the same time strives for contemporary intervention to restore vitality and give more to the neighborhood. Neglected industrial facilities of the 'Brick Factory' in Prishtina will be the objective of this study. This research will attempt to give a new function to the current state of the building and its surroundings and new opportunities around it for the Kosovo young generation trying to fight the high unemployment and migration rates. Digital technologies have spread speedily in the world. In many instances, digital technologies have boosted growth, expanded opportunities, and improved services, and, at the same time, have provided an excellent basis for employment (World Bank, World development report 2016: digital dividends, World Bank, Washington, 2016). However, the advantages of digital technologies will be understood better when knowing how digital technology relates with other non-digital components, such as architecture, that are equally important for development. This study aims to connect them coherently and create a stimulating dialogue. Bringing the appropriate digital and non-digital components into the underdeveloped neighborhood enhances its inhabitant's economic development and social and emotional growth.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS During lung surgery, preoperative fluids are given in restrict manner. This is in correspondence with the fact that lungs produce polyphasic injury during surgery and increased levels of different inflammation, traumatic and stress markers, on one side and a lack of fluids that complicate the transfer of water and kidney function on the other side [1]. One lung ventilation additionally complicate ventilation/perfusion ratio in the lungs, has overall impact on the whole body and to novel knowledge it indirectly leads to kidneys hypoperfusion and injurie [2]. The aim of our study is to evaluate the level of postoperative acute kidney injurie (AKI) occurrence in patients who underwent OLV. METHOD In prospective study, 60 patients that underwent lung resection in OLV, BMI RESULTS On average, patients were 59.7 +5.9 SD years old. More males were operated (80%). Overall, AKI stage 1 occurred in total of 13.3% (8 patients), AKI stage 22 in 3.3% (2 patients) and AKI stage 3 in 1.6% (1 patient). OLV longer than 60 min was in 85% of the patients, and all stages AKI were after this time duration. Lobectomy was done in 65% of the patients, while pulmectomy in 18.3% and bilobectomy in 16.7%. In relation to type of surgery done most of the patients that had pneumectomy had AKI 1 (27.2%), and additionally, only in this analysed surgery group, AKI 3 occurred in 9%. In correspondence to the side operated, right side was operated in 57.7% of the patients, and most of the AKI occurred in the right-sided surgery. Most of the patients who developed AKI preoperatively had hypertension and other cardiovascular issues. CONCLUSION AKI occurs significantly after OLV, in relation to the type of surgery. Mainly when right-side surgery is done. However, more severe AKI occurs when pulmectomy is done. Fluid regiment, OLV longer than 60 min and some preoperative cardiovascular diseases may contribute to its occurrence.

Background New treatments are currently offering new opportunities and challenges in clinical management and research in the migraine field. There is the need of homogenous criteria to identify candidates for treatment escalation as well as of reliable criteria to identify refractoriness to treatment. To overcome those issues, the European Headache Federation (EHF) issued a Consensus document to propose criteria to approach difficult-to-treat migraine patients in a standardized way. The Consensus proposed well-defined criteria for resistant migraine (i.e., patients who do not respond to some treatment but who have residual therapeutic opportunities) and refractory migraine (i.e., patients who still have debilitating migraine despite maximal treatment efforts). The aim of this study was to better understand the perceived impact of resistant and refractory migraine and the attitude of physicians involved in migraine care toward those conditions. Methods We conducted a web-questionnaire-based cross-sectional international study involving physicians with interest in headache care. Results There were 277 questionnaires available for analysis. A relevant proportion of participants reported that patients with resistant and refractory migraine were frequently seen in their clinical practice (49.5% for resistant and 28.9% for refractory migraine); percentages were higher when considering only those working in specialized headache centers (75% and 46% respectively). However, many physicians reported low or moderate confidence in managing resistant (8.1% and 43.3%, respectively) and refractory (20.7% and 48.4%, respectively) migraine patients; confidence in treating resistant and refractory migraine patients was different according to the level of care and to the number of patients visited per week. Patients with resistant and refractory migraine were infrequently referred to more specialized centers (12% and 19%, respectively); also in this case, figures were different according to the level of care. Conclusions This report highlights the clinical relevance of difficult-to-treat migraine and the presence of unmet needs in this field. There is the need of more evidence regarding the management of those patients and clear guidance referring to the organization of care and available opportunities.

BACKGROUND In the Republic of Kosovo, full vaccination status in children under age 2 years includes: 1 dose of Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) hepatitis B virus (HBV) vaccine; 3 doses of diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, polio, and Haemophilus influenzae type b (DTaP-HB-IPV-Hib) vaccine; 3 doses of inactivated polio vaccine (IPV); and 1 dose of measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine. Lot quality assurance sampling (LQAS) is a method used to assess the performance of health quality indicators. MATERIAL AND METHODS A national cross-sectional study with children aged between 12 and 24 months from Kosovo was performed between 2018 and 2020. The vaccination status of children was assessed with lot quality assurance sampling (LQAS) using randomized samples. RESULTS Among 430 children, more than 90% had completed the full immunization schedule. Delays in children's immunizations were observed. Most vaccinations showed short delays of less than 1 month, followed by delays of up to 3 months. The main reason for vaccination delay was the COVID-19 pandemic, following by child's illness at the scheduled time of vaccination or the parents were too busy to take the child to the vaccination site. Meanwhile, child age was the only parameter that showed difference among non-vaccinated and fully vaccinated (P0.001). CONCLUSIONS LQAS analysis showed that between 2018 and 2020 lack of full immunization was due to delay caused by the parent not taking the child to the vaccination site, which may be prevented by improving information given to parents and the use of vaccination reminders.

Introduction: It has recently been demonstrated that there is a very high prevalence of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection among hemodialysis patients in Kosovo with HCV subtype 1 being the most prevalent subtype. In this study, we further detail the molecular epidemiology of HCV outbreaks occurring in seven dialysis centers in Kosovo. Methodology: In total, 273 samples obtained from HCV RNA positive patients undergoing hemodialysis at one of the seven centers in Kosovo were selected for this study: 171 subtype 1a samples, 91 subtype 4d samples, and 11 subtype 1b samples. A partial HCV NS5B region was amplified and sequenced. Subtype-specific phylogenetic analyses were performed with the inclusion of control sequences and transmission clusters were identified. Results: NS5B sequences were successfully obtained in 257/273 (94.1%) of samples; 162 subtype 1a, 84 subtype 4d, and 11 subtype 1b sequences. Phylogenetic analyses showed a high degree of phylogenetic clustering of HCV sequences subtyped 1a (99.4%), 1b (63.6%), and 4d (76.2%). Distinct phylogenetic clusters of sequences obtained from hemodialysis patients were observed for all three subtypes studied. In addition, several smaller clusters within the large clusters were identified, mainly from a single dialysis center. Conclusions: Phylogenetic analyses confirmed nosocomial transmission during dialysis as a major factor in the spread of HCV at the seven dialysis centers in Kosovo.

Zeolites are nano-porous crystalline aluminosilicates. Natural zeolites are non-toxic and safe for humans which expand their application in different fields. Clinoptilolite is the most abundant natural zeolite with high purity that occurs in many parts of the world. It has a frame structure in which the tetrahedra of silicon [SiO4/2] and aluminium [AlO4/2]- are interconnected with oxygen bridge. Cations like K+, Na+ and Ca2+ and water are located in its pores and large cavities. Zeolites have high ion exchange capacity, selective adsorption capacity and thermal and mechanical stability.In this paper, the characterization of the natural zeolite - clinoptilolite from Bulgaria is performed. The investigated clinoptilolite was characterized in terms of its chemical composition, particle size distribution, structural morphology (SEM, XRD, FTIR) and thermal analysis. The chemical analysis show that clinoptilolite contains 69.7% of SiO2 and 11.4% of Al2O3. As specific surface area is the most important characteristic of the materials when used as adsorbents (the most common application of the zeolite) the specific surface area of clinoptilolite was obtained from data of equilibrium adsorption of water vapor at 25oC and using the BET method with nitrogen. To enhance its adsorptive properties clinoptilolite was modified (mechanically activated) and its specific surface area was also determined.

In this article the possibility of removal of Mn (II)-ions from aqueous solutions with the use of grape branches as an adsorbent was investigated. For the realization of the set goal during the experimental investigations, the influence of the following operating parameters was examined: the initial concentration of Mn (II) ions in the solution (100-500 μg/dm3), the adsorption time (1-180 min) and the quantity of adsorbent (0.2-1 g), on the effect of the removal of Mn (II) ions and the adsorption capacity of the grape branches as an bisorbent. Experimental researches were carried out in batch laboratory conditions at room temperature (25 oC) and continuous mixing by magnetic stirrer at 600 rpm. Based on the obtained results, the equilibrium of the examined system Mn (II) - grape branches was analyzed, using the Langmuir, Freundlich and Redlich-Peterson isotherms. By applying the MATLAB/Curve fitting Toolbox software, the equilibrium parameters for all applied adsorption systems are determined. The modeling of the kinetics of the process of removal of Mn (II) ions shown that the kinetic of the investigated system was defined by model of the pseudo-II order reaction.

BACKGROUND The cellular surface molecule HsTOSO/FAIM3/HsFcμR has been identified as an IgM-specific Fc receptor expressed on lymphocytes. Here, we show that its extracellular immunoglobulin-like domain (HsFcμR-Igl) specifically binds to IgM/antigen immune complexes (ICs) and exploit this property for the development of novel detection systems for IgM antibodies directed against Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV) and Zika virus (ZIKV). METHODS His-tagged HsFcμR-Igl was expressed in Escherichia coli and purified by affinity chromatography, oxidative refolding, and size-exclusion chromatography. Specific binding of HsFcμR-Igl to IgM/antigen ICs was confirmed, and 2 prototypic ELISAs for the detection of anti-CCHFV and anti-ZIKV IgM antibodies were developed. Thereby, patient sera and virus-specific recombinant antigens directly labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) were coincubated on HsFcμR-Igl-coated ELISA plates. Bound ICs were quantified by measuring turnover of a chromogenic HRP substrate. RESULTS Assay validation was performed using paired serum samples from 15 Kosovar patients with a PCR-confirmed CCHFV infection and 28 Brazilian patients with a PCR-confirmed ZIKV infection, along with a panel of a priori CCHFV/ZIKV-IgM-negative serum samples. Both ELISAs were highly reproducible. Sensitivity and specificity were comparable with or even exceeded in-house gold standard testing and commercial kits. Furthermore, latex beads coated with HsFcμR-Igl aggregated upon coincubation with an IgM-positive serum and HRP-labeled antigen but not with either component alone, revealing a potential for use of HsFcμR-Igl as a capture molecule in aggregation-based rapid tests. CONCLUSIONS Recombinant HsFcμR-Igl is a versatile capture molecule for IgM/antigen ICs of human and animal origin and can be applied for the development of both plate- and bead-based serological tests.

During 2013–2016, a total of 32 patients were treated for Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever in Prishtina, Kosovo; 11 died. In the 11 patients who died, findings included viral loads >1 × 108.5/mL, lactate dehydrogenase >2,700 U/mL, bleeding, and impaired consciousness. Ribavirin therapy had no noticeable effect in this small patient sample.

In this study, we report an abortion outbreak in a ruminant herd consisting of goats, sheep, and cows, with scenarios in two consecutive years. In early 2017, abortions occurred in ∼70% of goats and 66% tested positive for Coxiella burnetii (C. burnetii) and 40% of goats were positive for Chlamydophila abortus (C. abortus). In February 2018, the same herd reported an abortion rate of 75%, with 55% positive for C. burnetii, 36% for C. abortus, and 22% for Toxoplasma gondii. Six goat milk samples were positive for C. burnetii by molecular analysis. Three family members were positive for C. burnetii. C. burnetii could be considered as the main cause of abortions in the first and second year. Animals that undergo an infection and abortion are prone to secondary infections. Vaccination or other rapid interventions should be initiated to protect animals and humans.

The staging of solid cancers is critical to the planning of both primary treatment with surgery and adjuvant therapies like chemotherapy; however, staging is not always possible with preoperative information and may require intraoperative evaluation of sentinel lymph nodes to confirm or disaffirm the presence of metastasis. Challenges are presented by standard-of-care sentinel lymph node dissection which must be quick and accurate enough to guide the surgical strategy despite a workflow that stretches from the operating room to the pathology lab; however, a solution is posed by fluorescence-assisted sentinel lymph node dissection which uses fluorescent probes to communicate the location and/or status of sentinel lymph nodes, reducing the complexity of the surgery and/or eliminating the need for rapid pathology. In support of this emerging modality, we have constructed a snapshot hyperspectral imaging system with sensitivity from the far-red to the near-infrared that enables sentinel lymph node dissection with multiple near-infrared fluorophores. We have also developed a spectral unmixing routine for in vivo quantification of the readily available fluorophores indocyanine green and methylene blue that can be extended to emerging fluorophores that actively target tumor cells. Both the imaging system and the unmixing routine have been tested in a clinical setting where they have successfully discriminated two dyes exhibiting different distributions.

Soils are the primary carriers of heavy metals released into the environment by many different anthropogenic activities. Unlike organic pollutants, which are oxidized, most metals do not undergo microbial or chemical degradation, and their concentration in the soil continues for a long time. Increasing social awareness of the need to adequately address mineral waste to protect the environment has led to increased research in this area. Contemporary trends and the development of technology have revealed numerous methods of cleaning these degraded lands and what would best serve such an area. Based on centuries of historical development, botanic gardens have developed globally leading conservation, research, education, and recreation institutions. Botanic gardens increasingly provide a scientific basis for sustainable use and protection of plant diversity. This research aims to analyze the methods of treatment of these areas, then give a proposal which, in addition to solving a severe problem of this municipality, will become a research and study area for students of various fields related to botany. The investigation line is constructed on: analysis, field research, literature review, data provided by the municipality of Graçanica, interviews, and online surveys. Through this research, we will understand user expectations, spatial preferences, and the intended purpose of the Kosovo Botanical Garden and will convey them through the proposal into a functional concept and present new solutions, modern and practical, in this facility.

Bu zamanlarda Kosova'daki Arnavut teşkilatlanmasının UÇK (Milli Arnavutluk Kurtuluş Ordusu), Sırbistan ile olan savaşı da devam etmekteydi. Makedonya Devleti, UÇK tarafından Arnavutlara karşı uygulanan çifte standardın ortandan kalkması konusunda uyarılmıştı. Bütün bu önyargı ve korku Makedon halkının Makedon Arnavutlar hakkında düşüncelerinde saklıydı. Makedon Arnavutlarin 'Büyük Arnavutluk' projesini düşündüklerini ve hali hazırdakı UÇK destek vererek Büyük Arnavutluk devletini kurmak istediklerini düşünmekteydiler. Aslında Arnavutların tek istediği şey Makedonlar ile eşit hakka sahip olmak ve özgür bir şekilde topraklarında yaşamak idi. Tabi ki hiçbir zaman gerçekleşmedi. Toplumsal yapının bir parçası haline gelen iletişim araçları, düşünce ve fikirlerin oluşumunun ana kaynağı olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. İletişim araçları, bireyin hayatında önemli bir yer edinmiştir. Bu açıdan iletişim araçlarını kullanan medya yapıcı bir sosyal karakter kazanır. Dünyadaki olayların seyri ve gelişimi hakkında bilgi veren medya, bunu yaparken de düşüncelerin oluşmasına katkı sağlamakta ve bu konuda ideolojik bir boyut kazanmıştır. Yapıcı sosyal yapısının temelini oluşturan medya, dünya çapında pek çok kişi tarafından okunan ve paylaşılan haberleriyle güçlü bir söylem potansiyeli kazanmıştır. Bu nedenle haber anlatım potansiyeli birebir haber analizi ve anlayışı açısından önemli bir faktördür. Bu bağlamda çalışmamızın ana konusu olan Makedoniyada savaş, ikinci bölümde gazetelerde yer alan haberlerden önce, bu faktörler dikkate alınarak medyada etkili olan dil, söylem ve ideoloji konularını tartışmaktadır. Bundan yola çıkarak literatürde dil, söylem, ideoloji, haber üretim süreçleri, ideolojik medya söylemi gibi kavramlar taranmış ve kavramlar netleştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Böylelikle üçüncü bölümde haber söylemini incelerken kullanılan terim ve yaklaşımların anlaşılması amaçlanmıştır.

Background: From October 2018, adalimumab biosimilars could enter the European market. However, in some countries, such as Netherlands, high discounts reported for the originator product may have influenced biosimilar entry. Objectives: The aim of this paper is to provide a European overview of (list) prices of originator adalimumab, before and after loss of exclusivity; to report changes in the reimbursement status of adalimumab products; and discuss relevant policy measures. Methods: Experts in European countries received a survey consisting of three parts: 1) general financing/co-payment of medicines, 2) reimbursement status and prices of originator adalimumab, and availability of biosimilars, and 3) policy measures related to the use of adalimumab. Results: In May 2019, adalimumab biosimilars were available in 24 of the 30 countries surveyed. Following introduction of adalimumab biosimilars, a number of countries have made changes in relation to the reimbursement status of adalimumab products. Originator adalimumab list prices varied between countries by a factor of 2.8 before and 4.1 after loss of exclusivity. Overall, list prices of originator adalimumab decreased after loss of exclusivity, although for 13 countries list prices were unchanged. When reported, discounts/rebates on originator adalimumab after loss of exclusivity ranged from 0% to approximately 26% (Romania), 60% (Poland), 80% (Denmark, Italy, Norway), and 80–90% (Netherlands), leading to actual prices per pen or syringe between €412 (Finland) and €50 – €99 (Netherlands). To leverage competition following entry of biosimilar adalimumab, only a few countries adopted measures specifically for adalimumab in addition to general policies regarding biosimilars. In some countries, a strategy was implemented even before loss of exclusivity (Denmark, Scotland), while others did not report specific measures. Conclusion: Even though originator adalimumab is the highest selling product in the world, few countries have implemented specific policies and practices for (biosimilar) adalimumab. Countries with biosimilars on the market seem to have competition lowering list or actual prices. Reported discounts varied widely between countries.

Background An infectious disease caused by a novel coronavirus (later called COVID-19) reached pandemic levels in 2020 and community pharmacists were involved in responding to this pandemic, also in Kosovo. Objectives To explore the experiences of community pharmacists in relation to provision of community pharmacy services during COVID-19 pandemic. Setting Community pharmacists in Kosovo. Methods This was a cross-sectional study where data was collected via a self-administered online questionnaire, from 264 pharmacists actively practicing in Kosovo during the pandemic. The questionnaire consisted of a combination of closed and open-ended questions, optional statements and statements on a five-point Likert scale, derived at least in part from the Transtheoretical Model. One-way analysis of variance was used to analyze differences in responses to Likert-type items whereas categorical variables were analyzed using Chi square testing. Main outcome measures Community pharmacists' perceptions on COVID-19 related preventative measures. Results A response rate of 40.6% was achieved. Sufficient and adequate COVID-19-related preventative measures were being implemented by a majority of pharmacies (n = 232; 87.9%), and over two-thirds of respondents agreed/strongly agreed that their pharmacies were sufficiently prepared with protective equipment for their personnel. Implementation of preventative measures was associated with respondents' perception that pharmacists and the pharmacy profession were valued more by patients during the pandemic and to a lesser degree, by other health professionals. Most commonly stated pros dealt with employee and patient safety, while key cons dealt with increased costs and running out of the necessary protective equipment. Key barriers to pharmacy activities were price increases by wholesalers, and patients' panic and excessive buying, whereas drivers dealt with professional obligation to assist and opportunity to prove inseparable to other health professionals. The most popular means of accessing COVID-19 related information by pharmacists was via mobile devices and information from professional organizations was considered most useful by pharmacists. Conclusions Community pharmacies actively implemented various measures as precautions to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Our findings highlight the value of continuous provision of information by professional organizations and use of mobile devices as key means to access information by pharmacists.

It is a fact that the family business is becoming increasingly interesting for researchers in the field of management. From here the initial basis for their special treatment is drawn, since their holistic treatment with other MSMEs still does not emphasize their uniqueness in many aspects. If the importance of these family businesses is supported by the fact that they participate with 70% in the GDP of Europe as well as the fact that they employ up to 60% of the labor force in Europe, then it is more than clear that the scientific community should pay much more attention to these businesses. The paper aims to cover the biggest challenges and problems faced by family businesses, especially in terms of their management, inheritance, organizational communication and vision for their development, as segments where the biggest problems are observed.

Great Britain since the late 19th and early 20th centuries had increased its interest for the developments in the Balkan region. Since the Berlin Congress in June 1878, the Conference of Ambassadors in London, December 1912-May 1913, then during WWI and WWII. Her interest continued also during the Cold War. Tito's Yugoslavia as a conglomerate of peoples had special diplomatic treatment from UK because of political, economic and military interests of the latter. Mostly after 1948 the UK built good relations with Yugoslavia. Her interest was Yugoslavia to remain stable as it was the west "protected" area from any Soviet Union threat. From this perspective the predictions were that the British could approve of any kind of internal behavior towards other ethnic minority communities. Thus in 1981 riots broke out in the province of Kosovo, Yugoslavia, and they escalated widely all over Kosovo. The UK closely followed all developments through its embassy in Belgrade and reported continuously to the FCO in London. This research will be exclusively based on these Telegrams. The declassified diplomatic reports testify more to a diplomatic and political correctness since then, from the fact that they clearly write about the discrimination that has been done to Kosovo in the Yugoslav legal and political system.

The availability of clean water is a challenge around the world. In recent decades, environmental pollution through the excessive discharge of organic and inorganic water in water contributes to large quantities of wastewater. These halts are a major threat to the surrounding ecosystem and human health if they are not treated before being discharged into the environment. Therefore, there is an increasing attraction for the development and improvement of more accessible methods for wastewater treatment.Today, the adsorption, as a method for purifying the waters from pollutants, is paid great attention because it represents a simple, efficient and economical method, which gives the opportunity to apply a large number of natural and synthetic adsorbents.In the group of natural adsorbents that are used to remove water from the water systems, there are more materials, such as: inorganic materials, activated carbon based on biomass, agricultural solid waste, biosorbents and microbial biomass.

This study aims at revealing the power of architectural representation through drawing on community engagement and development during the design process. Considering the drawings as a medium for obtaining knowledge and using them as a means of communication, for the generation and development of designs together with the community, the idea behind was to understand if the representation and communication approach can trigger the community participation, engagement and education on understanding and creating their future city. For the accomplishment of this research the mixed methodology was used, quantitative methods with tools such as questionnaires and mental maps, whilst qualitative method employed interviews, empirical studies and observation on the ground. The use of a certain architectural representation as a communication means, that could be attractive and well understood by the community, can encourage public engagement, discussion and generation of ideas, by this ensuring their collaboration during the planning and design process, as active participants and well-informed citizens.

Background: Homocystinuria is a rare autosomal recessive disease complicated by early and aggressive occlusive arterial disease. This may be related to the grossly increased homocysteine concentrations seen in this disease. More recently, milder hyperhomocysteinemia has been proposed as an independent risk factor for coronary artery disease. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is among the diseases with multiple contributing factors, hence making it difficult to pinpoint a particular factor alone. The main factor that is of relevance to this study is homocysteine. Coronary artery disease is the narrowing or blockage of the arteries and vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to the heart (1, 2). CVD is the major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Obesity, HTA, Diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolemia, and smoking have been recognized as major risk factors for CVD. Aim: Aim of this paper is to examine concentrations of Hcyt and lipid profiles in patients with CVD and positive personal history for CVD, comparing them with the control group composed of healthy individuals. Our study aimed to verify the role of Homocysteine as a new independent risk factor on the onset of early atherosclerosis and atheromatous processes in coronary arteries in patients with CVD. Background Managed entry agreements (MEAs) are a set of instruments to facilitate access to new medicines. This study surveyed the implementation of MEAs in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) where limited comparative information is currently available. Method We conducted a survey on the implementation of MEAs in CEE between January and March 2017. Results Sixteen countries participated in this study. Across five countries with available data on the number of different MEA instruments implemented, the most common MEAs implemented were confidential discounts (n = 495, 73%), followed by paybacks (n = 92, 14%), price-volume agreements (n = 37, 5%), free doses (n = 25, 4%), bundle and other agreements (n = 19, 3%), and payment by result (n = 10, [1%). Across seven countries with data on MEAs by therapeutic group, the highest number of brand names associated with one or more MEA instruments belonged to the Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical (ATC)-L group, antineoplastic and immunomodulating agents (n = 201, 31%). The second most frequent therapeutic group for MEA implementation was ATCA, alimentary tract and metabolism (n = 87, 13%), followed by medicines for neurological conditions (n = 83, 13%). Conclusions Experience in implementing MEAs varied substantially across the region and there is considerable scope for greater transparency, sharing experiences and mutual learning. European citizens, authorities and industry should ask themselves whether, within publicly funded health systems, confidential discounts can still be tolerated, particularly when it is not clear which country and party they are really benefiting. Furthermore, if MEAs are to improve access, countries should establish clear objectives for their implementation and a monitoring framework to measure their performance, as well as the burden of implementation., peer-reviewed

Fiscal policy represents one of the most important components of economic policy and as such it should be treated in its context.For this there are at least two reasons:First, economic policy defines the goals and criteria of fiscal policy in order to assess its contribution to the implementation of economic policies, andSecond, defining the connection between the objectives and instruments, theory of economic policy explains the process of fulfilling the objectives of economic policy, part of which process is fiscal policy itself. Therefore, in the following, in a quite direct manner, we will address the interdependence between economic policy and fiscal policy.The word policy, in everyday life is used to clarify the principles on which various activities run, in order to realize the goals set by the designated authorities by determining the holders of those activities, their size as well as means by which those goals should be realized.In order to achieve prosperity and political stability, national governments aim at achieving economic equilibrium. Kosovo is one of the last countries in Europe to transition to a market economy. The transition process has begun from a very difficult starting point.During the years after the war, a symbolic economic growth occurred, which has been attributed mainly to remittances, investments in infrastructure and privatization. Investments, despite continuous growth, are considered insufficient to boost domestic production.This pattern of growth has not been able to meet the development needs of the state and failed to translate into a better standard of living for citizens, given that neither unemployment nor poverty are reduced. After a comparative review of articles published for used types of “Building Information Modeling” (BIM) software, this study provides a wider understanding and critical reflection on integration and synthesis of BIM developments into Kosovo education system in order to provide important guidance to academic researchers, students, and practitioners. As the effectiveness of BIM has been widely accepted in the worldwide “Architecture, Engineering, Construction” (AEC) industry, there is an urgent need to establish a synergy between BIM educated and practitioners in Kosovo likewise. This necessarily leads towards finding more intensive and suitable approaches and tools, for an integrated solution through the education system; in particular, to offer worldwide BIM's practices into sustainable AEC education programs, curricula and/or courses. Virtually, the most of the Technical Faculties within universities of Kosovo pretermit viability of BIM in teaching strategy and plan to overcome the barriers to integration of BIM into the curriculum. Through conducted questionnaire to students was surveyed the current state of BIM integration at higher education curricula of Sustainable Architecture and Construction (SAC) programs. Based upon their answers, came out the recommendation to increase the appraiser's knowledge for BIM in curricula, followed up by new sustainable didactical concepts and awareness, which will energize the commencement of BIM into SAC programs and establish graduates, equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills for BIM software before they get promoted in professional calling.

Setting. The poor patient adherence in tuberculosis (TB) treatment is considered to be one of the most serious challenges which reflect the decrease of treatment success and emerging of the Multidrug Resistance-TB (MDR-TB). To our knowledge, the data about patients’ adherence to anti-TB treatment in our country are missing.Objective. This study was aimed to investigate the anti-TB treatment adherence rate and to identify factors related to eventual nonadherence among Kosovo TB patients.Design. This study was conducted during 12 months, and the survey was a descriptive study using the standardized questionnaires with total 324 patients.Results. The overall nonadherence for TB patient cohort was 14.5%, 95% CI (0.109–0.188). Age and place of residence are shown to have an effect on treatment adherence. Moreover, the knowledge of the treatment prognosis, daily dosage, side effects, and length of treatment also play a role. This was also reflected in knowledge regarding compliance with regular administration of TB drugs, satisfaction with the treatment, interruption of TB therapy, and the professional monitoring in the administration of TB drugs.Conclusion. The level of nonadherence TB treatment in Kosovar patients is not satisfying, and more health care worker’s commitments need to be addressed for improvement.

Background Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant worldwide social and life-threatening epidemiological problem. Because this disease requires multiple drug treatment and prolonged therapy for several months, followed by a high probability of adverse effects (AEs), we assessed AE monitoring for anti-TB drugs in the Health Care System of Kosova. Methods This survey was a cross-sectional analysis performed at the primary, secondary and tertiary health care levels in Kosova. We included 930 registered tuberculosis patients within three levels of this health system in our study. Furthermore, we interviewed 62 physicians and 71 nurses at TB health facilities. Data were collected from official TB registers and personal contact with patients for 12 months. Results The representative age group was 19 to 29 years (30.49%), followed by a group of patients aged >60 years (23.23%). Among 930 patients treated with TB drugs, the total incidence of adverse AEs was 29.03%. Female TB patients had a higher rate of AEs than did male patients (33.56% vs 28.84%, respectively). The highest incidence of registered AEs was recorded in the gastrointestinal system (270, 80.83%), followed by the central nervous system (CNS, 7.50%) and was lower in other organ systems. The reporting of anti-TB drug effects by medical staff (TB medical doctor and TB medical nurse) at different levels of TB medical settings occurred among 62.90% of medical doctors and 81.69% of nurses. Only 53.23% of medical doctors and 46.48% of nurses completed pharmacovigilance training. Conclusion The pharmacovigilance approach in Health System of Kosova is not comprehensible and not systematic. The relatively low incidence of AEs among TB patients is due under reporting of these by medical staff. The knowledge, attitudes, and adherence of medical staff reveal low awareness for pharmacovigilance activities, and this concern should be addressed to reinforce this important issue for the safe treatment of TB patients.

Cancer affects one in three people worldwide. Surgery remains the primary curative option for localized cancers, but good prognoses require complete removal of primary tumors and timely recognition of metastases. To expand surgical capabilities and enhance patient outcomes, we developed a six-channel color/near-infrared image sensor inspired by the mantis shrimp visual system that enabled near-infrared fluorescence image guidance during surgery. The mantis shrimp's unique eye, which maximizes the number of photons contributing to and the amount of information contained in each glimpse of its surroundings, is recapitulated in our single-chip imaging system that integrates arrays of vertically stacked silicon photodetectors and pixelated spectral filters. To provide information about tumor location unavailable from a single instrument, we tuned three color channels to permit an intuitive perspective of the surgical procedure and three near-infrared channels to permit multifunctional imaging of optical probes highlighting cancerous tissue. In nude athymic mice bearing human prostate tumors, our image sensor enabled simultaneous detection of two tumor-targeted fluorophores, distinguishing diseased from healthy tissue in an estimated 92% of cases. It also permitted extraction of near-infrared structured illumination enabling the mapping of the three-dimensional topography of tumors and surgical sites to within 1.2-mm error. In the operating room, during surgical resection in 18 patients with breast cancer, our image sensor further enabled sentinel lymph node mapping using clinically approved near-infrared fluorophores. The flexibility and performance afforded by this simple and compact architecture highlights the benefits of biologically inspired sensors in image-guided surgery.

The cost-volume-profit analysis (CVP Analysis) is a powerful tool for planning and making decisions. Since the CVP analysis highlights the reciprocal cost ratio, the quantity sold and the price, it brings together all the financial information of the enterprise.
