The effects of bilinear coupling, biquadratic coupling and stress anisotropy on ferromagnetic resonance frequency are investigated in ferromagnetic/ferromagnetic bilayers with in-plane uniaxial anisotropy. The intensity of applied magnetic field dependence of resonance frequencies is studied for different bilinear couplings, biquadratic couplings and stress anisotropies. It is shown that resonance frequency can be tunable by the intensity of bilinear coupling, biquadratic coupling and stress anisotropy. Moreover, the biquadratic coupling is more important than bilinear coupling for the optical mode. Simultaneously, we find the frequencies of two modes have a very distinct dependence on stress anisotropy. These results may be useful in designing new microwave devices.

Traditionally, optical vortices (OVs) were generated with diffractive optical elements (DOEs) such as spiral phase plate (SPP), fork grating, spatial light modulator (SLM), and liquid crystal display (LCD). Here, a method was proposed for generating OVs by employing all-dielectric polarization-insensitive metasurfaces with cylinder arrays, which have high transmission efficiency. The polarization insensitivity of the metasurfaces was illustrated with the incidence of two pairs of orthogonal polarization, both the phase and transmission efficiency were consistent for the cylinder unit cell, and similar OVs were generated with the cylinder array. The topological charges of the generated OVs can be adjusted through the design of the metasurfaces. OVs with additional characteristics as vector beams, focused beams and Bessel beams were further generated. This work has potential applications in beam shaping, optical tweezers, and optical communication.

For artillery weapons, improving range or improving mobility is an eternal contradiction, so lightweight design is the key method to solve this contradiction. The application of composite material can improve the degree of artillery lightening and enhance the comprehensive combat effectiveness of artillery, so as to adapt to the requirements of modern war. This paper analyzed the characteristics, performances and capable application areas of common-used composite materials in artillery, and introduced its recent applications both home and abroad in barrels, turrets and other structural parts, and focused on the research on design methods and key technologies of its applications in self-propelled artillery. It can be taken as a guide in reasonable application of composite materials in artillery weapons.

Background and aims The present study aimed to develop and validate separate risk prediction models for thrombosis events (TEs) and major bleeding (MB) in patients with multi-vessel coronary artery lesions who had undergone primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods and results TEs were defined as the composite of myocardial infarction recurrence or ischemic cerebrovascular events, whereas MB was defined as the occurrence of bleeding academic research consortium (BARC) 3 or 5 bleeding. The derivation and validation cohorts comprised 2976 patients who underwent primary PCI between January 2010 and June 2017. At a median follow-up of 3.07 years (1122 days), TEs and MB occurred in 167 and 98 patients, respectively. Independent predictors of TEs were older age, prior PCI, non-ST elevated MI (NSTEMI), and stent thrombosis (ST). Independent predictors of MB were triple therapy at discharge, coronary artery bifurcation lesions, lesion restenosis, target lesion of the left main coronary artery, and PTCA. In the derivation and validation cohorts, the areas under the curve were 0.817 and 0.820 for thrombosis and 0.886 and 0.976 for bleeding, respectively. In the derivation cohort, high thrombotic risk (n=755) was associated with a higher 3-year incidence of TEs, major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs), and all-cause death, compared to low risk (n=1275) (p=0.0022, 0.019, 0.012, respectively). High bleeding risk (n=1675) was associated with a higher incidence of bleeding, MACEs, cardiac death, compared to low risk (n=355) (p Conclusion Simple risk scores can be useful in predicting the risks of ischemic and bleeding events after primary PCI, thereby stratifying thrombotic or MB risks and facilitating clinical decisions. Introduction The residual SYNTAX score (rSS) as the SYNTAX remaining after completion of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) was proved to be related to poor outcomes. Purpose This study aimed to investigate the association of culprit-plaque morphology with rSS and the predictive value of rSS for major adverse cardiac events (MACE) in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Methods A total of 274 STEMI patients undergoing preintervention optical coherence tomography examination were included and divided into 3 groups – rSS=0 (n=72), 08 (n=68). Baseline clinical data and culprit-plaque characteristics were compared. MACE was defined as the composite of all-cause death, recurrence of myocardial infarction (MI), stroke and unplanned revascularization of any coronary artery. Results There was a significant difference in the prevalence of plaque ruptures, lipid-rich plaques, and calcification among the three groups (plaque rupture: 44.4% versus 59.0% versus 64.7%, lowest to highest rSS, p=0.04; lipid-rich plaque: 40.3% versus 54.5% versus 69.1%, lowest to highest rSS, p=0.003; calcification: 38.9% versus 52.5% versus 61.8%, lowest to highest rSS, p=0.024). Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that rSS>8 was an independent predictor for plaque rupture (OR: 2.21, 95% CI: 1.19–4.19, P=0.013). During a mean follow-up of 2.2 years, MACE occurred in 47 (17.2%) patients. In fully adjusted analyses, rSS was independently associated with MACE (HR: 1.06, 95% CI: 1.02–1.10, P=0.005); patients with rSS >8 had higher MACE risk compared to rSS=0 (HR: 2.68, 95% CI: 1.11–6.5, P=0.029). Conclusion In STEMI patients, culprit-plaque morphology was significantly correlated with rSS, and elevated rSS was independently associated with cardiovascular risk. Background Previous studies reported that different culprit-plaque morphologies [plaque rupture (PR) and plaque erosion (PE) identified by optical coherence tomography (OCT)] might influence clinical outcomes in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Moreover, residual SYNTAX score (rSS) was proved to be related to worse prognosis. Purpose This study aimed to investigate the prognostic implication of culprit-plaque morphologies and rSS for major adverse cardiac events (MACE) in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Methods A total of 369 STEMI patients undergoing preintervention optical coherence tomography examination were included and divided into 4 groups based on PR and rSS: PE/low-rSS (n=92), PE/high-rSS (n=82), PR/low-rSS (n=80) and PR/high-rSS (n=115). The rSS was determined as the SYNTAX score remaining after completion of planned PCI. MACE was defined as the composite of all-cause death, recurrence of myocardial infarction (MI), stroke and unplanned revascularization of any coronary artery. K-M survival analysis and cox regression with adjustments for multiple covariates was used for outcome analysis. Results During a mean follow-up of 2.2 years, MACE occurred in 58 (15.7%) patients: 7.6% (7 patients) among patients with PE/low-rSS, 13.4% (11 patients) among patients with PE/high-rSS, 6.3% (5 patients) among patients with PR/low-rSS and 25.2% (29 patients) among patients with PR/high-rSS (p=0.001). In fully adjusted analyses, patients with PR/high-rSS presented higher MACE risk than patients with PE/low-rSS (HR: 3.17, 95% CI: 1.37–7.33, P=0.007). Conclusion In STEMI patients, patients with PR/high-rSS had worse prognosis, indicating culprit-plaque morphology and residual atherosclerosis burden should be taken into account in risk stratification and management of patients with STEMI. Piezoelectric wind energy harvesters consisting a bluff body and a piezoelectric cantilever beam have great potential for powering small-sized wireless devices. To achieve a higher energy output, the beam is designed for large deformation. This results in the nonlinear nature of the energy harvesters. In this paper, a nonlinear model of a piezoelectric wind harvester with different geometrical parameters is developed. A comparison of the energy harvesting performance of these energy harvesters with different geometrical parameters is provided. Results show that the onset speeds of galloping for trapezoidal and exponential piezoelectric energy harvesters are significantly lower than those of rectangular beam. The average power output density of the beam with exponential shape is larger than trapezoidal and rectangular beams. Therefore, designing a beam with exponentially varying shape can obtain the largest power density and therefore can reduce the cost of piezoelectric wind energy harvester.

Purpose Spastic cerebral palsy (CP) is characterized by four neuromuscular deficits: weakness, short muscle-tendon unit, muscle spasticity and impaired selective motor control (SMC). We examined the influence of impaired SMC on gait in children with bilateral spastic CP. Delineating the influence of neuromuscular deficits on gait abnormalities can guide surgical and therapeutic interventions to reduce long-term debilitating effects of CP. Methods The relationship between impaired SMC and gait was assessed using multivariate linear regression analysis of Selective Control Assessment of the Lower Extremity (SCALE) in relation to stance phase knee flexion and temporal-spatial gait parameters calculated using 3D kinematics for 57 children with bilateral spastic CP, ages seven to 11 years. Results Mean SCALE values were 5.8 (0 to 10, sd 3.0) and 5.7 (0 to 10, sd 2.9) for right and left legs, respectively. Multivariate linear regression models, including right and left SCALE and height, significantly predicted right and left knee flexion at initial contact (R = 0.479, p = 0.003; R = 0.452, p = 0.007, respectively) and right and left knee flexion in midstance (R = 0.428, p = 0.013; R = 0.407, p = 0.022, respectively). The model significantly predicted right and left step length (R = 0.645, p = 0.000; R = 0.523, p = 0.001, respectively) and predicted gait velocity (R = 0.444, p = 0.008). The model including SCALE did not predict step width. Conclusion Results indicate impaired SMC predicts increased knee flexion at initial contact, and reduces step length and velocity. Understanding the influence of impaired SMC on gait can inform decisions regarding therapy and surgery, such as hamstring lengthening. Level of evidence Level II Retrospective Study

Objective Colorectal cancer (CRC) causes a substantial burden of disease in China and the evidence of economic burden triggered is fundamental for priority setting. The aim of this survey was to quantify medical expenditures and the time trends for CRC diagnosis and treatment in China. Methods From 2012 to 2014, a hospital-based multicenter retrospective survey was conducted in 13 provinces across China. For each eligible CRC patient diagnosed from 2002 to 2011, clinical information and expenditure data were extracted using a uniform questionnaire. All expenditure data were reported in Chinese Yuan (CNY) using 2011 values. Results Of the 14,536 CRC patients included, the average age at diagnosis was 58.2 years and 15.8% were stage-I cases. Burn Department as an emergency discipline is confronted with risk of 2019-nCoV infection.
