Sexting has become a common mode of communicative sexual expression in the United States. Youths who sext with their peers are sometimes charged for the crime of producing and distributing child pornography. Such charges are inconsistent with the intent of American child pornography law, which is to protect children from abuse and exploitation. Understanding sext messages as a type of media content, this essay offers rhetorical translation as one strategy for identifying resources in Supreme Court doctrine to help distinguish between youth sexts and child pornography. Through rhetorical translation, this manuscript finds resources in four opinions concerning child pornography and the First Amendment for distinguishing sexting from child pornography. These distinctions pertain to how the two types of media are produced and distributed as demonstrated in a three-part interpretive model: motive and consent, privacy and consent, and market.

We argue that the film Mad Max: Fury Road challenges stigmas associated with disability by conceptualizing a world that embraces the differences between disabled and abled bodies. Drawing on crip theory and eco-ability scholarship, we examine how Mad Max: Fury Road’s narrative criticizes normative and ableist understandings about the body by imagining a world that constructs accessible and valued spaces for the disabled. Dolmage [Dolmage, J. (2013). Disability Rhetoric. New York: Syracuse University Press] argues that scholars need to situate rhetoric on the experiences of disabled bodies to generate new meanings about disability. Mad Max: Fury Road generates such meanings by challenging normative and stigmatizing conceptions of disability through positive and nuanced representations of disabled bodies.

Musculoskeletal ultrasound has a rich history originally rooted in nautical technology. In recent years, it has proliferated significantly for both diagnostic and interventional purposes in the point-of-care clinical setting by nonradiologist musculoskeletal clinicians. This article outlines the history of musculoskeletal ultrasound, examines present developments, and discusses its future outlook.

Physiatrists are sensitive to the importance of using a diagnostic test as an extension of the clinical examination. Training in electrodiagnostic testing provides an excellent base to learn about integrating ultrasound into one's practice. Given their education in the diagnosis and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal disorders and injuries, with an emphasis on quality of life and functional gains, ultrasound can help physiatrists design the most efficacious and accurate treatment plan. This ultimately provides for adequate patient access and improved outcomes.

This article conceptualizes the use of diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound for the clinician treating changes in their patients' function secondary to musculoskeletal injuries.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to develop an evidence-based guideline for the use of neuromus- cular ultrasound in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Methods: Two questions were asked: (1) What is the ac- curacy of median nerve cross-sectional area enlargement as measured with ultrasound for the diagnosis of CTS? (2) What added value, if any, does neuromuscular ultrasound provide over electrodiagnostic studies alone for the diagnosis of CTS? A systematic review was performed, and studies were classified according to American Academy of Neurology criteria for rating articles of diagnostic accuracy (question 1) and for screening articles (question 2). Results: Neuromuscular ultrasound mea- surement of median nerve cross-sectional area at the wrist is accurate and may be offered as a diagnostic test for CTS (Level A). Neuromuscular ultrasound probably adds value to electrodiagnostic studies when diagnosing CTS and should be considered in screening for structural abnormalities at the wrist in those with CTS (Level B). In hamiltonian lattice gauge theory, the fermion vacuum at lowest order in 1/g2 can be determined from degenerate perturbation theory plus mean field-spin wave techniques. Using compact QED as an example, we show that: (i) chiral symmetry is spontaneously broken; and (ii) m pseudoGoldstone 2 ∝ m fermion 〈 ψ ψ〉 . The pseudoscalar pseudoGoldstone particles—the “pions” of this abelian theory—correspond to antiferromagnetic spin wave excitations of the fermion vacuum.
