In the context of public or community mental health nursing, many different professional roles can be described, which are defined differently in terms of content depending on the country context and the setting in which they are performed. This "muddle" of professional nursing roles leads to the fact that no uniform and internationally valid systematization of nursing roles in community, outpatient as well as complementary mental health care is possible.
