Curcumin, a natural extract from the rhizomes of Curcuma longa, is also known as a curcuminoid. Curcumin has been studied as a therapeutic drug for wound healing because of its anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and anti-bacterial activities. However, the detailed mechanism of curcumin in wound healing is not clear. It is well-known that the skin is the largest organ in humans and prevents tissues from damage, including infection, radiation, and mechanical damage. Wound healing of the skin is a complex physiological regulation process requiring various cell types and cytokines; hence, wound healing, including surgery and care, incurs a huge expenditure each year. Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 7 (TRPM7) regulates multiple physiological and pharmacological processes through its channel and kinase activities. In addition, TRPM7 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and anti-oxidative activity, thereby playing a regulatory role in the wound healing process. This study aimed to explore the function of curcumin in the wound healing process.We first established TRPM7 overexpression and knockdown models in fibroblasts using lentivirus. CCK-8 and wound healing assays were used to clarify whether overexpression of TRPM7 promoted proliferation and migration in fibroblasts. Expression of target genes and proteins was detected using qPCR and western blotting. Concentrations of migration-related cytokines were measured using ELISA.Proliferation and migration of fibroblasts increased after curcumin treatment and was further enhanced after overexpression of TRPM7. In addition, expression of proliferation-related genes and proteins was elevated after TRPM7 overexpression. Further, the secretion of migration-related cytokines was elevated after TRPM7 overexpression.Curcumin treatment promoted proliferation and migration of fibroblasts, and these effects were mediated by the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3)/SMAD family member 3/hypoxia-inducible factor 1 subunit alpha signaling pathway. Thus, we conclude that overexpression of TRPM7 might contribute to wound healing.

China has become one of the major green bond issue countries and is the only developing country. Research on green corporate bonds is currently a novel direction, and very few studies focus on the Chinese market. Researching Chinese corporate green bonds is essential for the Chinese and merging market. This article discusses corporate green bonds in the Chinese market from the perspective of stock market reaction, institutional investor positions and cost of capital. Firstly, the author analyzes the Chinese stock market reaction to the issuance of corporate green bonds by using an event-study methodology. The paper finds that Chinese stock markets respond positively to green bond issuance announcements, but this response reflects speculative trading behavior. Secondly, the author compares the stock positions of institutional investors after the issuance of corporate green bonds and finds that green corporate bond issuance in the Chinese market can attract long-term investors (institutional investors). Finally, this author adopts the exact matching method to verify the cost of capital argument and finds no significant benefit to the cost of capital, which is consistent with prior works.

This work presents an experimental study of the fluctuating properties of hydraulic jump rollers for high-Froude-number and pre-aerated inflow conditions, to investigate the validity of empirical relationships in the literature that are derived typically from experiments for smaller Froude numbers and clear-water approach flows. The jump roller fluctuations are evaluated in terms of the dimensions of the roller surface profile, the fluctuation magnitudes and frequencies of the instantaneous jump toe positions and water elevations, including at the tailwater surface, and the formation frequency and advection velocity of internal vortices in the shear layer. The effects of pre-aeration are found primarily in the length-scale properties such as jump length and surface fluctuation magnitudes, while the time-scale properties such as characteristic frequencies of the unsteady motions are not affected. Extrapolation of existing quantitative prediction of jump roller dynamic properties to high-Froude-number flow conditions should be performed carefully. An assessment of the fluctuating bubble counts within fixed time intervals yields close frequencies between the bubble grouping motions in the shear layer and the jump toe and tailwater wave motions, thus implying possible correlations between the roller surface deformations and air entrainment.

A finite-element method based on a weak formulation of the Takagi–Taupin equations was adopted to study the X-ray diffraction of crystals with surface undulations. A general diffraction geometry was simulated to investigate the diffraction features caused by the surface undulations. The numerical results reveal that the effects of surface undulations on Bragg diffraction are local for those limited in the low-frequency range and physically result from the refractive effect, brought on by the variation of the local asymmetry angle. Thus, a formula based on the local perfect flat crystal approximation was introduced to efficiently evaluate the change in the direction of the diffracted wave caused by surface undulations.

However, new industries related to the integration of cultural tourism are relatively rare, so the demand of tourists for culturally added value in rural tourism has increased. This paper analyzes the dilemma of cultural tourism integration development in Zhejiang Province, introduces the power open integration mechanism framework, combines the current situation of cultural tourism integration in Zhejiang, summarizes the practices and experiences of rural tourism and cultural integration in typical countries such as France, the United States, and Japan, puts forward the path of the integration of cultural industry and tourism industry, and deeply explores the connotation and value of culture in rural tourism, the implementation path of high-quality development of rural tourism and cultural integration, and provides a valuable reference for designing a high-quality rural tourism development path with cultural heritage.

Distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) is an emerging technology that offers great potential in the high-resolution multi-scale seismic investigation due to its dense spatial coverage and cost-effectiveness. However, DAS data notoriously suffer from the low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) due to various types of strong noise, for example, high-frequency noise, high-amplitude erratic noise, vertical or horizontal noise. Here, we propose a novel denoising framework by cascading several individual denoising methods that are designed for suppressing specific types of noise. First, to suppress the high-frequency noise, we apply a bandpass filter, which is implemented by recursive infinite impulse response filtering in the time domain. Second, to suppress the erratic noise, we apply a structure-oriented median filter that arises from the reflection seismology field. Finally, to suppress the vertical or horizontal noise, we apply a carefully designed dip filter in the frequency–wavenumber domain. The overall effect of these cascaded denoising steps is that the DAS data can be dramatically improved in terms of SNR. We introduce in detail the implementations of each step in the proposed denoising framework and analyze their respective contribution toward the final improvement. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed denoising framework through the open-access Frontier Observatory for Research in Geothermal Energy (FORGE) geothermal DAS dataset and provide the reproducible processing workflows for all the DAS subsets containing the catalog earthquake and microseismic events.

Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) is a major risk associated with liver surgery and transplantation, and its pathological mechanism is complex. Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1ra) can protect the liver from IRI. However, the regulatory mechanism of IL-1ra expression is still unclear.To identify the mechanism that could protect the liver in the early stage of IRI.To screen the key genes in hepatic IRI, we performed RNA sequencing and gene enrichment analysis on liver tissue from mice with hepatic IRI. Subsequently, we verified the expression and effect of IL-1ra in hepatic IRI. We also used promoter mutagenesis and chromatin immunoprecipitation assay to search for the transcriptional regulatory sites of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1α. Finally, to explore the protective mechanism of ischemic preconditioning (IP), we examined the expression of HIF-1α and IL-1ra after IP.We identified IL-1ra as a key regulator in hepatic IRI. The expression of IL-1ra was significantly upregulated after hepatic IRI bothWe demonstrated that ischemia or hypoxia leads to increased expression of IL-1ra through HIF-1α. Smart functional microgels hold great potential in a variety of applications, especially in drug transportation. However, current drug carriers based on physiological internal stimuli cannot efficiently orientate to designated locations. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce the self-propelled particles to the drug release of the microgels. In order to study self-propulsion of microgels induced by light, it is also a challenge to prepare micronsized microgels so that they can be observed directly under optical microscopes. In this work, phototactic microgels with photoresponsive properties are prepared. The microgel particles can be observed by confocal laser scanning microscopy. The photoresponsive properties of microgels are fully investigated by various instruments. Light can also regulate the state of the microgel solution, making it switch between turbidity and clarity. The phototaxis of particles irradiated by UV light was studied, which may be used for microgels enrichment and drug transportation and release.

Air–water mixing associated with high turbulence is a common hydraulic phenomenon, where the transport of entrained air bubbles and the dissipation of turbulent energy are key processes affecting the air–water mass transfer. Herein hydraulic jumps were selected as a seminal case of self-air-entrainment in transitional water flow, and the air–water flow properties were investigated at high Froude numbers from 10.5 to 13.5. The analysis of air concentration distributions and bubble size spectra enabled deviation of the rates of bubble diffusion and turbulence dissipation. The study was facilitated with re-analyses of earlier experimental data for smaller Froude numbers between 3.8 and 10. The spatial evolution of the diffusion and dissipation rates suggested that the diffusion of air bubbles and dissipation of turbulent structures were not independent processes, and, at high Froude numbers, the mix of air and water was subject to re-aeration of the turbulent shear layer by the roller.
