H. V. Craig has shown that the Lie derivative of an absolute tensor with respect to a contravariant vector field is a contraction of an extensor formed from the orginal tensorby differentiation with respect to a curve parameter, together with a mixed tensor/extensor formed from the contravariant field components. The present paper extends this to show a process for formulating a Lie derivative of a weighted tensor by forming a Jacobian extensor from the given tensor and contracting this with a Jacobian extensor formed from N linearly independent vector fields. The resulting tensor is of the same type as the original.
