This paper aims at studying the relationship between motivation of word of mouth and advertising's effect on the web (research materials: 300 pieces of scanner advertisements on the web). After factor analysis, nine factors are abstracted: emotion share, rewards, personal entertainment, community development, service improvement, community power, information rewards, punish/support businessman, self-image improvement. After regression analysis, model is established as follows: Y = 0.224 emotion share + 0.250 community development + 0.117 service improvement + 0.222 information rewards + 0.165 punish/support businessman.

The leftward asymmetry of the visual field and posterior brain regions, a feature of the normal attention process, can be strengthened by brain stimulation, e.g. administering alpha frequency stimulation to the left posterior cortex. However, whether it can be strengthened by cognitive training, especially with nonlateralized tasks, is unknown. We used a dataset from a 2-month-long randomized controlled trial and compared the control group with 2 training groups trained with backward or forward memory span tasks. A lateralized change detection task with varied memory loads was administered as the pre-, mid-, and post-tests with simultaneous electroencephalographic recording. Intrasubject response variability (IRV) and the alpha modulation index (MI) were calculated. Analysis of IRV showed more enhanced leftward attentional bias in the backward group than in the other groups. Consistently, analysis of MI found that its enhancements in the left hemisphere (but not the right hemisphere) of the backward group were significantly higher than those of the other groups. Further analysis revealed that left MI changes predicted left IRV improvement. All of these results indicated that backward memory span training enhanced leftward attentional asymmetry at both the behavioral and neural levels.

Barium titanate nanoparticles were used as a locator to help accurately break the scales on the surface of wool fibers under microwave vacuum treatment, as an anti-felting process of wool with low environmental impact. The nanoparticles loaded by ultrasound are sandwiched between the scales and fibers, which allows the microwave energy concentration to break the scales for the shrink resistance of wool and avoid damaging the main body of fibers synchronously. The friction and mechanical properties of wool under microwave treatment with different power, temperature and processing time were discussed, morphological and chemical analysis of the fibers after treatment was also carried out. The results suggested that compared with the uncoated fibers, the anti-felting performance of the coated fibers after treatment had been significantly improved, while maintaining the mechanical properties, the tip end of the scales on the wool surface were cut off and the volume of the felting ball was increased by 82.3%. The nanoparticles coating the wool were also easily cleaned without residue. This study provided a novel potential approach in the modification of wool fibers for anti-felting.

Graph signal processing (GSP) uses a shift operator to define a Fourier basis for the set of graph signals. The shift operator is often chosen to capture the graph topology. However, in many applications, the graph topology may be unknown a priori, its structure uncertain, or generated randomly from a predefined set for each observation. Each graph topology gives rise to a different shift operator. In this paper, we develop a GSP framework over a probability space of shift operators. We develop the corresponding notions of Fourier transform, MFC filters, and band-pass filters, which subsumes classical GSP theory as the special case where the probability space consists of a single shift operator. We show that an MFC filter under this framework is the expectation of random convolution filters in classical GSP, while the notion of bandlimitedness requires additional wiggle room from being simply a fixed point of a band-pass filter. We develop a mechanism that facilitates mapping from one space of shift operators to another, which allows our framework to be applied to a rich set of scenarios. We demonstrate how the theory can be applied by using both synthetic and real datasets. The relationship of the chiroptical response of a molecule to its absolution configuration does not exist now.

Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common malignant tumors with a high incidence and mortality. Microbiota play a significant role in human health and disease. We aimed to investigate the prognostic value of the gastric microbiota in different stomach microhabitats. We used our previously published 16S rRNA gene sequence data. We retrospectively enrolled a cohort of 132 patients with GC with complete prognostic information and selected 78 normal tissues, 49 peritumoral tissues, and 112 tumoral tissues for microbiota analysis. Patients with different prognoses showed different gastric microbiota compositions and diversity. The association network of the abundant gastric microbiota was more complicated in patients with poor prognoses. In the peritumoral microhabitat of patients with good prognoses, Helicobacter was significantly increased, whereas Halomonas and Shewanella were significantly decreased relative to that in the peritumoral microhabitat of patients with poor prognoses. PiCRUSt analysis revealed that the peritumoral microbiota had more different Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathways than did the tumoral and normal microbiota. This study evaluated the long-term prognostic value of the gastric mucosal microbiota in patients with GC. These findings suggested that the characteristic alterations of the gastric mucosal microbiota may be markers for clinical outcomes in these patients.

Modulus of elasticity (MOE) is one of the important indexes to evaluate the performance of badminton string. In this work, a series of tensile testing were performed to explore the changes in MOE at different temperature, humidity, and tensile rate. Based on the experimental results, an MOE model for badminton string was developed by using response surface methodology. Meanwhile, the significant contribution of each variable and two-factor interactions on MOE were investigated by analysis of variance. The special aim of this work was to determine the optimal processing parameters for maximum MOE for the higher performance of badminton string, and those processing parameters are temperature of 10.7°C, humidity of 0.19%, and tensile rate of 59.98 mm/min, which were propped to be adopted for the actual use of badminton string.

The effects of temperature and surfactant on the shape of candle droplets that solidify at air-water interfaces were investigated. In pure water, triangular or quadrangular shaped candle droplets were formed when the temperature was ≤6 °C and round shape droplets were observed when the temperature was ≥10 °C. In SDS/water solutions ≥ 0.5 mM, oval or concave bowl-shaped candle droplets were formed when the temperature was ≤6 °C and round shape droplets were observed when the temperature was ≥10 °C. The formation mechanisms of the different shapes were explored and discussed.

To evaluate the safety and efficacy of a new endoscopic duodenal-jejunal bypass sleeve (DJBS) in obese patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), while in situ for 3 months, and at 6 months postexplantation.Patients with obesity and NAFLD were enrolled in this single-center, prospective study, wherein the TONGEE DJBS (Tangji Medical, Hangzhou, China) was implanted for 3 months. Primary outcomes were weight loss and changes in hepatic steatosis. Secondary outcomes included changes in liver enzymes, glycemic control, and lipid profile and device safety.Twenty-six patients (age 35.2 ± 7.2 years; 61.5% women) underwent DJBS implantation. At 3 months, bodyweight change from baseline was -8.0 ± 3.6 kg (P 0.001), corresponding to 8.9 ± 4.0% of total bodyweight. Hepatic steatosis significantly improved based on controlled attenuation parameter, hepatic steatosis index, and fatty liver index (P 0.001). Liver enzymes, insulin resistance, and metabolic parameters were also improved. At 6 months postexplantation, weight loss and improvements in hepatic steatosis and liver enzyme levels remained statistically significant. Only one patient had a serious adverse event, namely, upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage.Three-month TONGEE DJBS implantation resulted in significant weight loss and improvement in hepatic steatosis, liver enzymes, insulin resistance, and metabolic parameters in obese patients with NAFLD. Randomized controlled trials are required to further elucidate these initial findings.

Purpose: To evaluate the four measurement approaches on the determination of effective optical zone (EOZ) using Scheimpflug tomography after SMILE surgery in eyes with high myopia.Setting: Corneal refractive surgery conducted in eye hospital in southern ChinaDesign: A retrospective cohort study.Methods: Total 74 subjects were recruited. EOZ was measured at 3 months postoperatively using Vertex-Based total corneal refraction method (EOZV), pupil-based total corneal refraction method (EOZP), 4 mm-Ring-Based total corneal refraction method (EOZ4), and axial curvature difference map (EOZD), and their consistencies were compared. EOZs and planned optical zone (POZ) were compared and analyzed with eccentricity, ablation degree (AD) and total corneal aberrations.Results: Mean AD was -6.87 ± 0.75 D, and eccentricity was 0.30 ± 0.17 mm. At 3 months after surgery, the mean root mean square of ΔHOA, ΔComa, ΔTrefoil and ΔSA were 0.53 ± 0.27 μm, 0.36 ± 0.20 μm, 0.01 ± 0.84 μm, and, 0.16 ± 0.14 μm respectively. EOZV, EOZP, EOZ4 and EOZD were 5.87 ± 0.44 mm, 5.85 ± 0.45 mm, 4.78 ± 0.40 mm, 5.29 ± 0.27 mm respectively, which were significantly smaller than POZ 6.48 ± 0.16 mm. Bland Altman plots showed a good consistency between the four EOZs. The difference between the EOZV and EOZP was 0.02 mm within the range of clinically acceptable difference. In addition, EOZD was positively correlated with AD, and the eccentricity was positively correlated with ΔHOA, ΔComa and ΔSA.Conclusions: All 4 measurement approaches demonstrated the reduction of EOZs compared to POZ. EOZV was the closest to POZ, followed by EOZP. ΔEOZs showed no significant difference with eccentricity, AD and corneal aberrations. Our results are useful for the full characterization of corneal treatment profiles after kerato-refractive surgery.

Abstarct Besides explicit inference of word meanings, associating words with diverse contexts may be a key mechanism underlying vocabulary learning through reading. Drawing from distributional semantic theory, we developed a text modification method called reflash to facilitate both word-context association and explicit inference. Using a set of left and right arrows, learners can jump to a target word’s previous or subsequent occurrences in digital books to synthesize clues across contexts. Participants read stories with target words modified by reflash-only, gloss-only, gloss + reflash, or unmodified. Learning outcomes were measured via Vocabulary Knowledge Scale and a researcher-developed interview to probe word-context association. We modeled the learning trajectories of words across five weeks among three adolescent L2 English learners (113 word-learner pairings) using Bayesian multilevel models. We found that reflash-only words made more gains than words in other conditions on both outcomes, controlling for key covariates such as types of existing knowledge. Our analysis also revealed that context synthesis may be particularly useful for learning specific types of words like homonyms, which has significant pedagogical implications.

There are significant risks of adverse events following oesophageal endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), such as stricture, delayed bleeding and perforation. Therefore, it is necessary to protect artificial ulcers and promote the healing process. The current study was performed to investigate the protective role of a novel gel against oesophageal ESD-associated wounds. This was a multicentre, randomized, single-blind, controlled trial that recruited participants who underwent oesophageal ESD in four hospitals in China. Participants were randomly assigned to the control or experimental group in a 1:1 ratio and the gel was used after ESD in the latter. Masking of the study group allocations was only attempted for participants. The participants were instructed to report any adverse events on post-ESD days 1, 14, and 30. Moreover, repeat endoscopy was performed at the 2-week follow-up to confirm wound healing. Among the 92 recruited patients, 81 completed the study. In the experimental group, the healing rates were significantly higher than those in the control group (83.89 ± 9.51% vs. 73.28 ± 17.81%, P = 0.0013). Participants reported no severe adverse events during the follow-up period. In conclusion, this novel gel could safely, effectively, and conveniently accelerate wound healing following oesophageal ESD. Therefore, we recommend applying this gel in daily clinical practice.

Omono River virus (OMRV) is a newly reported, unclassified RNA virus in the family Totiviridae, which infects mosquitoes and bats. In this study, we report the isolation of an OMRV strain SD76 from Culex tritaeniorhynchus captured in Jinan city, China. The cytopathic effect was characterized by cell fusion on C6/36 cell line. Its complete genome was 7611 nucleotides in length, with 71.4–90.4% similarities with other OMRV strains. Phylogenetic analysis based on complete genomes showed all OMRV-like strains can be divided into 3 groups with between-group distances ranging from 0.254 to 0.293. These results revealed that the OMRV isolate had high genetic diversity with those identified previously, and enriched the genetic information of family Totiviridae.

This study aims to visualize research hotspots and trends of “ferroptosis in cancer”, “necroptosis in cancer”, “pyroptosis in cancer”, and “cuproptosis in cancer” through a bibliometric analysis to facilitate understanding of future developments in basic and clinical research and to provide a new perspective on cancer treatment. From January 1, 2012 to October 31, 2022, in the field of “ferroptosis in cancer”, a total of 2467 organizations from 79 different countries published 3302 articles. 2274 organizations from 72 different countries published 2233 articles in the field of “ necroptosis in cancer”. 1366 institutions from 58 different countries contributed 1445 publications in the field of “pyroptosis in cancer”. In the field of “ cuproptosis in cancer”, the number of articles published in the last 10 years is relatively low, with a total of 109 articles published by 116 institutions from four different countries. In the field of “ferroptosis in cancer”, Tang Daolin had published 66 documents, ranked the first, while Dixon SJ is the most cited author, cited 3148 times; In the fields of “necroptosis in cancer”, Vandenabeele peter had published 35 papers and Degterev had been cited 995 times, ranked the first, respectively; Kanneganti thirumala-devi had published 24 papers, is the highest number of publications in the fields of “pyroptosis in cancer”, while Shi JJ was the most cited author with being cited 508 times. Both Huang Yan and Wang Tao published three papers and tied for first place and Tsvetkov p ranks first with being cited 107 times in “cuproptosis in cancer”. “Cell”, “Cell”, “Nature”, and “Science” was the most frequently co-cited journal on “ferroptosis in cancer”, “necroptosis in cancer”, “pyroptosis in cancer”, and “cuproptosis in cancer”, respectively. Further exploration of inhibitors of different Programmed cell death (PCD) and their targeted therapies are potential treatment options for cancer, but more direct clinical evidence as well as higher level clinical trials remain to be explored. Further clarification of the mechanisms of crosstalk between these PCDs may provide effective cancer treatments. And the role of different types of PCDs, especially the novel ones discovered, in cancer can be expected to remain a hot topic of research in the cancer field for quite some time to come.

Background Anthracosis is a disease generally considered to be in the lungs resulting from exposure to industrial dust in the workplace. Esophageal anthracosis is a fairly rare phenomenon and shows a strong correlation with tuberculosis. Moreover, esophageal involvement in tuberculosis is also rare. We here present an extremely rare case in which follow-up gastroesophageal endoscopy revealed a mass with a sunken, black area in the center and raised ring-like pattern in the surrounding mucosa resembling malignant melanoma. Uncovering the patient’s tuberculosis history finally avoided a misdiagnosis or overtreatment. Case presentation A 67-year-old male patient was admitted to the hospital due to “repeated chest pain for 1 month”. Endoscopic ultrasonography and contrast-enhanced CT scans revealed a mass adjacent to the esophageal wall with unclear boundaries. Aspiration biopsy confirmed that esophageal tuberculosis was caused by nearby mediastinal tuberculous lymphadenitis. After a standard anti-tuberculosis treatment regimen, the patient achieved a favorable prognosis. The follow-up gastroesophageal endoscopy showed a sunken black lesion with elevated peripheral mucosa replacing the original tuberculous mass, which was thought to be anthracosis, a disease that rarely occurs in the esophagus. Conclusion The diagnosis of tuberculosis should be taken into consideration when a submucosal mass appears in the middle part of the esophagus. Endoscopic ultrasonography can effectively contribute to a definite diagnosis. Moreover, this is the first case of esophageal anthracosis observed only 1 year after the treatment of tuberculosis, indicating esophageal anthracosis can be a short-term disease. The traction of the reduction of tubercular mediastinal lymph nodes after anti-tuberculosis treatment may create a circumstance for pigmentation or dust deposition.

Re-endothelialization is a critical problem to inhibit postoperative restenosis, and gene delivery exhibits great potential in rapid endothelialization. Unfortunately, the therapeutic effect is enormously limited by inefficient specificity, poor biocompatibility and in vivo stability owing largely to the complicated in vivo environment. Herein, we developed a series of platelet membrane (PM) cloaked gene complexes based on natural bovine serum albumin (BSA) and polyethyleneimine (PEI). The gene complexes aimed to accelerate re-endothelialization for anti-restenosis via pcDNA3.1-VEGF165 (VEGF) plasmid delivery. Based on BSA and PM coating, these gene complexes exhibited good biocompatibility, stability with serum and robust homing to endothelium-injured site inherited from platelets. Besides, they enhanced the expression of VEGF protein by their high internalization and nucleus accumulation efficiency, and also substantially promoted migration and proliferation of vascular endothelial cells. The biological properties were further optimized via altering PEI and PM content. Finally, rapid recovery of endothelium in a carotid artery injured mouse model (79% re-endothelialization compared with model group) was achieved through two weeks' treatment by the PM cloaked gene complexes. High level of expressed VEGF in vivo was also realized by the gene complexes. Moreover, neointimal hyperplasia (IH) was significantly inhibited by the gene complexes according to in vivo study. The results verified the great potential of the PM cloaked gene complexes in re-endothelialization for anti-restenosis. STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: Rapid re-endothelialization is a major challenge to inhibit postoperative restenosis. Herein, a series of biodegradable and biocompatible platelet membrane (PM) cloaked gene complexes were designed to accelerate re-endothelialization for anti-restenosis via pcDNA3.1-VEGF165 (VEGF) plasmid delivery. The PM cloaked gene complexes provided high VEGF expression in vascular endothelial cells (VECs), rapid migration and proliferation of VECs and robust homing to endothelium-injured site. In a carotid artery injured mouse model, PM cloaked gene complexes significantly promoted VEGF expression in vivo, accelerated re-endothelialization and inhibited neointimal hyperplasia due to their good biocompatibility and superior specificity. Overall, the optimized PM cloaked gene complexes overcomes multiple obstacles in gene delivery for re-endothelialization and can be a promising candidate for gene delivery and therapy of postoperative restenosis.

Cu2P3I2 wires were synthesized and converted to Ag2P3I2 via post-synthetic modification. Single-wire and thin film devices were constructed from each material and evaluated as rapidly reversible humidity sensing semiconductors. All devices exhibited a dramatic increase in current when exposed to a ~30.85% RH (~9745.3 ppm by moisture volume) atmosphere compared to that of dry N2. Platelet-derived growth factors (PDGFs) and PDGF receptors (PDGFRs) are expressed in a variety of tumors. Activation of the PDGF/PDGFR signaling pathway is associated with cancer proliferation, metastasis, invasion, and angiogenesis through modulating multiple downstream pathways, including phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase/protein kinase B pathway and mitogen-activated protein kinase/extracellular signal-regulated kinase pathway. Therefore, targeting PDGF/PDGFR signaling pathway has been demonstrated to be an effective strategy for cancer therapy, and accordingly, some great progress has been made in this field in the past few decades. This review will focus on the PDGF isoforms and their binding with the related PDGFRs, the PDGF/PDGFR signaling and regulation, and especially present strategies and inhibitors developed for cancer therapy, and the related clinical benefits and side effects.

Bimetallic nanoparticles (BMNPs) are frontrunners in various fields including heterogeneous catalysis, medicinal applications, and medical imaging. Tailoring their properties requires adequate control over their structure and composition, which still presents a non-trivial endeavor. We present a flexible strategy to deposit phase-controlled BMNPs by vapor-phase “titration” of a secondary metal to a pre-deposited monometallic nanoparticle (NP) host. The strategy is exemplified for archetypal Pt–Sn BMNPs but transferrable to other BMNPs which alloy noble and non-noble metals. When exposing Pt NPs on a SiO2 support to discrete TDMASn (tetrakis(dimethylamino)tin) vapor pulses from 150 to 300 °C, TDMASn selectively decomposes on Pt NPs. This leads to saturated infiltration of Sn into Pt NPs through reactive solid-state diffusion, resulting in the formation of Pt–Sn BMNPs with phase/composition control via the substrate temperature. An additional H2 pulse after each TDMASn pulse removes the surface ligands and excess Sn on the surface as SnH4, preserving the small sizes of the pre-deposited Pt NPs. This approach provides a single-step, selective “vapor-phase conversion” of Pt NPs into PtxSny BMNPs with great potential for catalysis. Hereto, a proof of concept is provided by converting wet impregnated Pt NPs into Pt–Sn BMNPs on high surface area supports.

The joint effects of stimulus quality and semantic context in visual word recognition were examined with event-related potential (ERP) recordings. In one-character Chinese word recognition, we manipulated stimulus quality at two degradation levels (highly vs. slightly degraded) and semantic context at two priming levels (semantically related vs. unrelated). In a prime–target–probe trial flow, ERPs were recorded to the target character which was presented in either high or slight degradation and which was preceded by either a semantically related or unrelated prime character. The target character was then followed by a probe character which was either identical to or different from the target character. Subjects were instructed to make target–probe matching judgments. The ERP results demonstrated a degradation by priming interaction, with larger N400 semantic priming effects for slightly degraded targets. Moreover, the degradation effects were observed on the P200, N250, and N400. These findings provided evidence for the cascaded model of visual word recognition such that the visual processing cascaded into the semantic stage and thus interacted on the N400 amplitude. The results were compared to an earlier study with a null ERP degradation by priming interaction. The ramifications of these results for models of visual word recognition are discussed.

Vortex-assisted dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction based on the solidification of sedimentary deep eutectic solvents was developed and applied to the extraction of triazine and phenylurea herbicides in milk samples. In this study, a series of novel hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents were prepared using tetrabutylammonium chloride as the hydrogen bond acceptor and perfluorooctanol as the hydrogen bond donor, and their structures, viscosities, densities and melting points were determined. The deep eutectic solvent was used as the extraction solvent and dispersed in the sample solution with the assistance of vortex. After extraction, through centrifugation and subsequent cooling in an ice bath, the deep eutectic solvent was solidified and deposited on the bottom of the centrifuge tube. Subsequently, the deep eutectic solvent combined with the target analytes was diluted and used for chromatographic analysis. Some parameters, including the extraction temperature, type and volume of the deep eutectic solvent, amount of NaCl, vortex time and pH of the sample solution, were optimized by the single-factor experiment, Plackett-Burman design and Box-Behnken design. Treatment of Ru2.5Pd2.5/H2 catalyst with Ar–H2 mixture exposed strong acid sites, prompting further reduction of Run+ and Pd2+, leading to enhanced interaction of Ru and Pd with carrier, possessing excellent hydrogenation–dehydrogenation activity.

The failure of rock mass is mainly due to the failure of the structural plane, which is an important factor to reduce the mechanical properties and stability of rock mass. The shear strength of rock mass is one of the parameters for the stability calculation of large-scale rock mass engineering. The shear strength of a rock structural plane is strongly influenced by surface morphology. Considerable research has been conducted regarding the correlation between two-dimensional structural plane morphology and shear strength. However, quantitative research on three-dimensional (3D) morphology is relatively limited. In this study, 3D printing technology was used to create molds. Using cement and sand as the main materials, additives such as early strength and water-reducing agents were added, and test samples of irregular surface topography were created. The 3D roughness was quantified by formula calculation. Using a ZScanner® 800 hand-held 3D laser scanner to perform scanning on the structural surface, the parameter curve was analysed by generating 3D coordinate information and a 3D image of the fracture surface, and the quantitative parameter M p 3 D {M}_{\text{p}}^{3\text{D}} describing the 3D morphology of the structural surface was constructed. The change rule of R p 3 D {R}_{\text{p}}^{3\text{D}} and joint roughness coefficient (JRC) were analysed under different scanning resolutions, Δ(r), the scanning precision was suggested, and the functional relationship between JRC and M p 3 D {M}_{\text{p}}^{3\text{D}} was established. Finally, a formula for shear strength parameters considering the 3D characteristics of a structural plane surface was established. The model validation results show that the experimental data were within the 95% confidence band of the model curve, the average error of the shear strength was 10.4%, the errors of friction angle and cohesion, C, were 3.4 and 9.4%, and the reliability was fine.

AimsNext generation sequencing (NGS) technology has been widely used in monitoring and identifying microbiomes in sewage. We aimed to evaluate the ability of NGS analysis in directly detecting enterovirus (EV) in sewage and to understand the diversity of EVs circulated in the residents in Weishan Lake region.Methods and resultsFourteen sewage samples were collected in Jining, Shandong Province, China from 2018 to 2019 and were parallelly investigated by the P1 amplicon-based NGS method and cell culture method. The results showed that 20 different serotypes belonging to species Enterovirus A (EV-A) (n = 5), EV-B (n = 13), and EV-C (n = 2) were identified by NGS in the sewage concentrates, which exceeded the number of types detected by cell culture method (n = 9). Echovirus 11 (E11), Coxsackievirus (CV) B5 and CVA9 were the most detected types in those sewage concentrates. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that E11 sequences obtained in this study belonged to genogroup D5 and had close genetic relationship with clinical sequences.ConclusionsVarious EV serotypes circulated in populations near Weishan Lake. The combination of NGS technology into environmental surveillance will greatly contribute to improving our knowledge about EV circulation patterns in the population.
