This research will explore whether there is a direct relationship between increased binge eating habits (using the Binge Eating Scale) and increased binge drinking habits (using the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test - C scale). Additionally it will look into the role of several maladaptive eating styles: emotional eating (eating in response to negative emotions), external eating (eating in response to external stimuli such as sight or smell) and restrictive eating (deliberately restricting food intake to decrease or maintain weight), in mediating the relationship between binge eating and binge drinking (using the Dutch Eating Behaviour Questionnaire).
