Abstract

Four solid cryptates of a cage-type N2O6-heteroatom hexabenzo cryptand (L) with M(III) nitrates (M = Sm, Eu, Tb. Dy) have been synthesized and characterized by IR, fluorescence spectra, TG-DTA and molar conductances. The composition of these cryptates was determined as M2(NO3)6LH2O. and the structure [[M(L)(NO3)][M(NO3)5(H2O)] has been suggested. Some abnormalities in the fluorescence emission intensity were found for the Tb(III) and Dy(III) cryptates.
