Facial expressions, which are important social communication tools in our daily life, provide important information about the mental state of people. Research is being done to obtain this information accurately. The importance of these researchs in the field of human-computer interaction is increasing. Many methods have been used for the recognition of universal facial expressions such as neutral, happiness, surprise, sadness, anger, disgust, and fear by intelligent systems with high accuracy. Emotion recognition is an example of difficult classification due to factors such as ambient light, age, race, gender, and facial position. In this article, a 3-stage system is proposed for emotion detection from facial images. In the first stage, the CNN-based network is trained with the Fer+ dataset. The Binary Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm is applied for feature selection to the feature vector in the fully connected layer of the CNN network trained in the second stage. Selected features are classified by Support Vector Machine. The performance of the proposed system has been tested with the Fer+ dataset. As a result of the test, 85.74% accuracy was measured. The results show that the combination of BPSO and SVM contributes to the classification accuracy and speed of the FER+ dataset.

Bu çalışmada, otomatik yüzey hata tespiti için InceptionV3 tabanlı Zenginleştirilmiş Öznitelik Entegrasyon Ağ (Inc-ZÖEA) mimarisi geliştirilmiştir. Önerilen mimaride, InceptionV3 ağ mimarisinin her seviyesindeki öznitelikleri aynı yükseklik ve genişliğe sahip öznitelikler çıkartılmış ve birleştirilmiştir. Birleştirme sonucunda farklı boyutlara sahip olan 5 öznitelik haritası elde edilmiştir. Bu öznitelik haritalarındaki önemli detayları ortaya çıkartmak için Kanal Bazlı Sıkma ve Uyarlama (KSU) bloğu uygulanmıştır. KSU bloğu, öznitelik haritasındaki kanalları inceleyerek önemli ayrıntıları güçlendirmektedir. Öznitelik Piramit Ağ (ÖPA) modülünde mekânsal detayları içeren düşük seviyeli öznitelik haritalarındaki bilgiler, anlamsal detayları içeren yüksek seviyeli öznitelik haritalarına aktarılmıştır. Daha sonra önerilen mimaride nihai öznitelik haritası için Öznitelik Entegrasyon ve Anlamlandırma (ÖEA) modülü kullanılarak ÖPA modülünün sonunda elde edilen 4 farklı öznitelik haritaları birleştirilmiştir. ÖEA modülünde birleştirilen öznitelik haritası Mekânsal ve Kanal Bazlı Sıkma ve Uyarlama (MKSU) bloğundan geçirilerek hata tespiti için önemli olabilecek mekânsal ve anlamsal bilgiler en iyi şekilde güçlendirilmiştir. Inc-ZÖEA mimarisinin son katmanında evrişim ve sigmoid katmanları kullanılarak hata tespit sonucu elde edilmiştir. Inc-ZÖEA mimarisinin piksel seviyesinde hata tespit başarısını ölçmek için MT, MVTec-Doku ve DAGM veri setleri kullanılmıştır. Deneysel çalışmalarda, MT, MVTec-Doku ve DAGM veri setlerinde sırası ile Inc-ZÖEA mimarisi %77,44 mIoU, %81,2 mIoU ve %79,46 mIoU başarım sonuçları ile literatürde yer alan son teknolojilere göre daha yüksek başarımlar sağlamıştır

Hiperspektral uzaktan algılama görüntüleri (HUAG), yüzlerce spektral bant içeren ve iki uzamsal-bir spektral boyuta sahip 3B görüntü küpleridir. Sınıflandırma, HUAG’de en popüler konulardan biridir. Son yıllarda HUAG sınıflandırması için çok sayıda derin öğrenme yöntemi önerilmiştir. Özellikle Evrişimli Sinir Ağları (ESA), HUAG'lerin sınıflandırılmasında yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. ESA, daha yüksek kaliteli HUAG sınıflandırması için daha ayırt edici özellikler sağlayabilen güçlü bir özellik öğrenme yeteneğine sahiptir. Bu çalışma kapsamında 3B/2B ESA, Artık ağ mimarisi ve Derinlemesine ayrılabilir evrişimin birlikte kullanıldığı bir yöntem önerilmiştir. Daha derin ESA'larda, katman sayısı arttıkça daha yüksek sınıflandırma performansı elde etmek için artık ağ kullanılmaktadır. Ayrıca artık ağ sayesinde derin ağlarda oluşabilecek bozulma ve gradyanların yok olması gibi sorunların üstesinden gelinmektedir. Öte yandan, hesaplama maliyetini azaltan, aşırı öğrenmeyi önleyen ve daha fazla uzamsal özellik çıkarımı sağlayan Derinlemesine ayrılabilir evrişimler kullanılmıştır. Son olarak, 3B ESA ile HUAG’lerden uzamsal-spektral özellikler eş zamanlı olarak çıkarılmaktadır. Ancak sadece 3B ESA kullanımı hesaplama karmaşıklığını arttırmaktadır. Yalnızca 2B ESA kullanımı ile de HUAG’lerden sadece uzamsal özellikler çıkarılmaktadır. Spektral özellikler çıkarılamamaktadır. 3B ESA ile 2B ESA’nın birlikte kullanılmasıyla bu iki problem çözülmüştür. Ayrıca önerilen yöntemde optimum spektral bant çıkarımı için temel bileşen analizi bir ön işleme adımı olarak kullanılmıştır. Popüler iki HUAG kıyaslama veriseti olan Indian pines ve Salinas verisetleri kullanılarak uygulamalar gerçekleştirilmiştir. Uygulamalar sonucunda Indian pines ile %99.45 ve Salinas ile %99.95 genel doğruluk sonucu elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen sınıflandırma sonuçları, önerilen yöntemin sınıflandırma performansının mevcut yöntemlerden daha iyi olduğunu göstermektedir.

Hiperspektral görüntü sınıflandırma, uzaktan algılanan görüntülerin analizi için yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bir hiperspektral görüntü, uygulamalarda büyük potansiyele sahip olan yer nesnelerinin zengin spektral bilgilerini ve uzamsal bilgilerini içermektedir. Spektral uzamsal bilgi kullanımı hiperspektral görüntü sınıflandırmasının performansını önemli ölçüde arttırmaktadır. Hiperspektral görüntüler, 3B küpler biçiminde gösterilmektedir. Bu nedenle, 3B uzamsal filtreleme, bu tür görüntülerdeki spektral uzamsal özellikleri eşzamanlı olarak çıkarmak için doğal olarak basit ve etkili bir yöntem sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, hiperspektral görüntü sınıflandırması için bir 3B evrişimli sinir ağı (3B ESA) yöntemi önerilmiştir. Önerilen yöntem, derin spektral uzamsal birleştirilmiş özellikleri etkin bir şekilde çıkarmaktadır. Aynı zamanda herhangi bir ön işleme veya son işleme dayanmadan hiperspektral görüntü küpü verileri toplu olarak görüntülemektedir. Hiperspektral görüntü küpü önce küçük üst üste binen 3B parçalara bölünmektedir. Daha sonra bu parçalar, spektral bilgileri de koruyan birden çok bitişik bant üzerinde bir 3B çekirdek işlevi kullanarak 3B özellik haritaları oluşturmak için işlenmektedir. Önerilen yöntem indian pines, pavia üniversitesi ve botswana veri setleri ile test edilmiştir. Deneysel çalışmalar sonucunda, indian pines için %99,35, pavia üniversitesi için %99,90 ve botswana için ise %99,59 genel doğruluk sonuçları elde edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, 4 farklı derin öğrenme tabanlı yöntemle karşılaştırılmıştır. Deneysel sonuçlardan, önerilen 3B ESA yöntemimizin daha iyi performans gösterdiği görülmektedir.

Kan hücreleri, kanın temel bileşenleridir. Bu bileşenler insan vücudunun sağlıklı bir şekilde çalışmasında önemli rol oynarlar. Kan hücrelerinin şekli, sayısı, boyutu ve diğer özellikleri çeşitli faktörlere bağlıdır. Bu özelliklerin değişimleri birçok hastalıkla ilişkilendirilebilmektedir. Bu nedenle, kan hücrelerinin tespit edilmesi, sınıflandırılması ve bölütlenmesi sağlık alanında çok önemli bir konu haline gelmiştir. Derin öğrenme mimarilerinin medikal görüntüler üzerinde göstermiş olduğu yüksek performans etkisiyle bu kan hücreleri üzerinde otomatik tanı sistemlerinin sayısı artmıştır. Bu makalede, DeepLabv3+, U-Net ve FCN mimarileri ile mikroskobik kan hücresi görüntüleri üzerinde hücre bölütlemesi yapılmıştır. En iyi doğruluk sonucuna 0.9575 ile DeepLabv3+ mimarisinde ulaşılmıştır. Deneysel sonuçlar, önerilen yöntemin sağlamlığını destekler niteliktedir.

Çekirgeler, farklı alt türleriyle dünyanın pek çok yerinde bulunan tarımsal zararlılardandır. Mahsullere zarar vererek her yıl milyonlarca ton gıdanın yok olmasına neden olmaktadır. Etkili ve doğru çekirge tanımlama sistemlerinin geliştirilmesi, çekirge türlerinin kontrol altına alınması ve gıda kaybının önlenmesinde kritik öneme sahiptir. Günümüzde, çekirge tanıma işlemi manuel olarak uzman entomologlar tarafından yapılmaktadır. Bu durum, çekirge tanıma sistemlerinin önündeki en önemli sorunlardan biridir. Bu sorunlar ile başa çıkabilmek için yarı otomatik ve otomatik çekirge tanıma sistemleri yaygınlaşmaya başlasa da bu sistemler henüz istenilen başarı düzeyine ulaşmamıştır. Bu çalışmada, ülkemizin ve dünyanın çeşitli yerlerinde görülen 11 farklı bitki zararlısı çekirge türü çeşitli evrişimsel sinir ağı modelleri kullanılarak otomatik olarak sınıflandırılmıştır. Çalışmada kullanılan veri seti ülkemizin Doğu ve Güneydoğu Anadolu bölgesinde gözlemlenerek elde edilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın en büyük yeniliği, ülkemizde bulunan 11 farklı bitki zararlısı çekirge türüne ait GCD11 adında yeni bir veri setinin oluşturulmuş olmasıdır. Bunun yanında, çalışmada 11 farklı bitki zararlısı çekirge türünün otomatik olarak sınıflandırılması için Keras kütüphanesinde bulunan ve görüntü sınıflandırmasında yaygın olarak kullanılan VGG16, VGG19, Resnet50, DenseNet121, EfficientNet, MobileNet evrişimsel sinir ağları modelleri kullanılmıştır. Öğrenme aktarımı ile GHCD11 veri seti üzerinde yapılan deneysel çalışmalar sonucunda, %95 ile %99 aralığında kayda değer sınıflandırma doğrulukları elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca, EfficientNetB0 mimarisinin en yüksek sınıflandırma doğruluğu elde ettiği görülmüştür. Çalışma yeni bir veri seti sunmasının yanı sıra, ülkemizin Doğu ve Güneydoğu Anadolu bölgelerinde görülen bitki zararlısı çekirge türlerinin evrişimsel sinir ağı mimarileri ile otomatik tanı ve tespitinin yüksek başarım ile yapılabileceğini göstermesi açısından önem arz etmektedir.

Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are one of the popular deep learning methods used to solve the hyperspectral image classification (HSIC) problem. CNN has a strong feature learning ability that can ensure more distinctive features for higher quality HSIC. The traditional CNN-based methods mainly use the 2D CNN for HSIC. However, with 2D CNN, only spatial features are extracted in HSI. Good feature maps cannot be extracted from spectral dimensions with the use of 2D CNN alone. By using 3D CNN, spatial-spectral features are extracted simultaneously. However, 3D CNN is computationally complex. In this study, a hybrid CNN method, which is a combination of 3D CNN and 2D CNN, is improved to solve the two problems described above. Using hybrid CNN decreases the complexity of the method compared to using only 3D CNN and can perform well against a limited number of training samples. On the other hand, in Hybrid CNN, depthwise separable convolution (DSC) is used, which decreases computational cost, prevents overfitting and enables more spatial feature extraction. By adding DSC to the developed hybrid CNN, a hybrid depthwise separable convolutional neural network is obtained. Extensive applications on frequently used HSI benchmark datasets show that the classification performance of the proposed network is better than compared methods.

Optic disc localization offers an important clue in detecting other retinal components such as the macula, fovea, and retinal vessels. With the correct detection of this area, sudden vision loss caused by diseases such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy can be prevented. Therefore, there is an increase in computer-aided diagnosis systems in this field. In this paper, an automated method for detecting optic disc localization is proposed. In the proposed method, the fundus images are moved from RGB color space to a new color space by using an artificial bee colony algorithm. In the new color space, the localization of the optical disc is clearer than in the RGB color space. In this method, a matrix called the feature matrix is created. This matrix is obtained from the color pixel values of the image patches containing the optical disc and the image patches not containing the optical disc. Then, the conversion matrix is created. The initial values of this matrix are randomly determined. These two matrices are processed in the artificial bee colony algorithm. Ultimately, the conversion matrix becomes optimal and is applied over the original fundus images. Thus, the images are moved to the new color space. Thresholding is applied to these images, and the optic disc localization is obtained. The success rate of the proposed method has been tested on three general datasets. The accuracy success rate for the DRIVE, DRIONS, and MESSIDOR datasets, respectively, is 100%, 96.37%, and 94.42% for the proposed method.

Yüzey hata tespiti, imalat sistemlerinde yüksek kalitede ürün sağlanması açısından oldukça önemlidir. İnsan gözetimi altında yapılan manuel denetimlerin aksine, otomatik yüzey hatası tespiti hem verimli hem de yüksek doğruluktadır. Bu çalışmada piksel seviyesinde otomatik yüzey hata tespiti için Sonuç Ağırlıklandırma tabanlı Resnet Öznitelik Piramit Ağ (SA-RÖPA) modeli geliştirilmiştir. Önerilen modelin ilk aşamasında, önceden eğitilmiş Resnet50 ağı kullanılmış ve bu ağının farklı seviyelerinden öznitelik haritaları çıkartılmıştır. İkinci aşamada, hata tespitinde önemli bilgileri hiyerarşik olarak paylaşmak için bu öznitelik haritalarına Öznitelik Piramit Modeli uygulanmıştır. Üçüncü aşamada, bu öznitelik haritaları kullanılarak 4 farklı hata tespit sonucu elde edilmiştir. Son aşamada, geliştirilen Sonuç Ağırlıklandırma (SA) modülü kullanılarak elde edilen 4 farklı sonuç etkili bir şekilde birleştirilmiştir. Önerilen SA-RÖPA modeli, hata tespit çalışmalarında yaygın olarak kullanılan MT, MVTex-Doku ve AITEX veri kümeleri ile test edilmiştir. Deneysel çalışmalarda, önerilen model kullanılarak MT, MVTex-Doku ve AITEX veri kümeleri için elde edilen mIoU değeri, sırayla %79,92, %76,37 ve %82,72 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Bu sonuçlar, önerilen SA-RÖPA modelinin diğer son teknoloji modellerine göre daha başarılı olduğunu göstermiştir., Surface defect detection is very important in manufacturing systems to ensure high quality products. Unlike manual inspections under human supervision, automatic surface defect detection is both efficient and highly accurate. In this study, a Result Weighting-based Resnet Feature Pyramid Network (SA-RÖPA) model has been developed for automatic pixel-level surface defect detection. In the first stage of the proposed model, the pre-trained Resnet50 network was used, and feature maps were extracted from the different levels of this network. In the second stage, Feature Pyramid Model was applied to these feature maps in order to hierarchically share important information in defect detection. In the third stage, 4 different error detection results were obtained by using these feature maps. In the last stage, four different results obtained using the developed Result Weighting (SA) module were effectively combined. The proposed SA-ROPA model has been tested with MT, MVTex-Doku, and AITEX datasets, which are widely used in defect detection studies. In experimental studies, the mIoU value obtained for the MT and AITEX datasets using the proposed model was calculated as 79.92%, 76.37%, and 82.72%, respectively. These results have shown that the proposed SA- ROPA model is more successful than other state-of-the-art models.

Yazar profili oluşturma (Author Profiling) bir metnin üslup ve içeriğine bakarak yazarın çeşitli özelliklerinin ortaya çıkarılmasına yönelik bir metin kümesi analizidir. Bu özellikler yaş, cinsiyet, kişilik özellikleri ve hatta meslek gibi unsurları barındırır. Cinsiyet belirleme yazar profili oluşturma çalışmalarının alt alanlarından birisidir. Siber suçlar başta olmak üzere sahte haber yayma gibi adli olayların yanında pazarlama (reklamcılık), sosyolojik ve psikolojik olayların incelenmesinde cinsiyet belirleme oldukça önemlidir. Twitter gönderileri dil kurallarına uymayan, kısaltılmış kelimeler ve anlamsız cümle yapıları da içerme ihtimallerine rağmen cinsiyet belirleme görevi için yaygın bir şekilde kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Türkçe Twitter gönderilerinden cinsiyet tespiti yapılmaya çalışılmıştır. Problem bir sınıflandırma görevi olarak ele alınmıştır. Yapılan çalışmada makine öğrenmesi metotları(TF-IDF + SVM), derin öğrenme yöntemleri (LSTM, CNN) ve Türkçe için ön eğitimli dil modelleri(BERT, DistilBert, Electra) kullanılmıştır. Yapılan deneyler sonucunda en yüksek başarımı (%80.1) kelime boyutunun 128k olduğu Bert modeli sağlamıştır. Bu çalışma diğer metin sınıflandırma görevleri için de detaylı bir çalışma olma özelliği göstermektedir., Author Profiling is a text set analysis to reveal various characteristics of the author by examining the style and content of a text. These features include factors such as age, gender, personality traits and even profession. Gender identification is one of the subfields of author profile creation. Gender identification is very important in the investigation of marketing (advertising), sociological and psychological events, as well as forensic events such as spreading fake news, especially cybercrime. Twitter posts are widely used for gender identification, although they may include ungrammatical structures, abbreviated words and meaningless sentence structures. In this study, it was attempted to determine gender from Turkish Twitter posts. The problem is handled as a classification task. In the study, machine learning methods (TF-IDF + SVM), deep learning methods (LSTM, CNN) and pre-trained language models for Turkish (BERT, DistilBert, Electra) were used. As a result of the experiments, Bert model with the word size of 128k provided the highest success (80.1%). This study also features as a detailed study for other text classification tasks.

Göz takip algoritmalarında önemli bir yere sahip olan göz bebeği merkezinin yerini belirlemek için geçmişten günümüze birçok yöntem kullanılmıştır. Bu yöntemler genellikle şekil-özellik ve görünüm temellidir. Şekil-özellik tabanlı yöntemler, iris ve göz bebeğinin yerini belirlemek için morfolojik görüntü işleme tekniklerini, gözün değişmez geometrik özelliklerini ve kızılötesi ışığı kullanır. Bu yöntemler ışık, düşük çözünürlük gibi gerçek dünya koşullarından etkilenir. Buna karşılık, görünüm temelli yöntemler bu koşullara daha az duyarlıdır. Bu çalışmada, göz özelliklerini otomatik olarak öğrenen ve göz bebeği merkezi lokalizasyonu gerçekleştiren görünüm tabanlı yöntemlerden biri olan Mini U-Net ağı önerilmiştir. Önerilen ağ, göz bebeği merkezi yerelleştirmesi için halka açık GI4E veri seti kullanılarak değerlendirildi. Ağın test sonuçlarında maksimum normalize edilmiş hata kriterine göre ölçümler yapılmıştır. Buna göre göz bebeğinin merkezi %98,40 doğrulukla belirlendi. Önerilen ağ, en son teknolojik yöntemlerle karşılaştırılmış ve önerilen ağın performansı ortaya konmuştur.

Plant diseases and pests cause significant losses in agriculture, with economic, ecological and social implications. Therefore, early detection of plant diseases and pests via automated methods are very important. Recent machine learning-based studies have become popular in the solution of agricultural problems such as plant diseases. In this work, we present two classification models based on deep feature extraction from pre-trained convolutional neural networks. In the proposed models, we fine-tune and combine six state-of-the-art convolutional neural networks and evaluate them on the given problem both individually and as an ensemble. Finally, the performances of different combinations based on the proposed models are calculated using a support vector machine (SVM) classifier. In order to verify the validity of the proposed model, we collected Turkey-PlantDataset, consisting of unconstrained photographs of 15 kinds of disease and pest images observed in Turkey. According to the obtained performance results, the accuracy scores are calculated as 97.56% using the majority voting ensemble model and 96.83% using the early fusion ensemble model. The results demonstrate that the proposed models reach or exceed state-of-the-art results for this problem.

Melanoma is considered the deadliest form of skin cancer, and the number of cases is increasing day by day. The early diagnosis of melanoma is critical, as it significantly increases the patient’s chance of survival. However, distinguishing melanoma from other skin lesion types by the physician can be a complicated process due to the diversity of its structural and textural features. Numerous computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems have been developed to assist the physician in detecting melanoma during recent years. The segmentation is a critical step for CAD systems, as it directly contributes to the performance of both feature extraction and classification steps. The optimization of the hyperparameters of deep learning methods is a challenging research topic. In this paper, the Bayesian optimized SegNet approach is proposed for precise skin lesion segmentation. The proposed method is obtained competitive results with the latest skin lesion segmentation methods. The hyperparameters optimized SegNet has achieved the best results with the average Jaccard Index of 84.9 on ISBI2016 and 74.5 on ISBI2017 dataset. Experimental results indicate the validity of Bayesian optimized SegNet. In this study, it has been observed that the bayesian hyperparameter optimization in the SegNet, which is the latest deep learning architecture, increased the segmentation performance of the SegNet by 16% in the ISBI2016 dataset and by 7% in the ISBI2017 dataset.

Konuşma duygu tanıma, konuşma sinyallerinden insan duygularını gerçek zamanlı olarak tanıyabilen aktif bir insan-bilgisayar etkileşimi alanıdır. Bu alanda yapılan tanıma görevi, duyguların karmaşıklığı nedeniyle zorlu bir sınıflandırma örneğidir. Etkili bir sınıflandırma işleminin yapılabilmesi yüksek seviyeli derin özelliklere ve uygun bir derin öğrenme modeline bağlıdır. Konuşma duygu tanıma alanında yapılmış birçok sınıflandırma çalışması mevcuttur. Bu çalışmalarda konuşma verilerinden duyguların doğru bir şekilde çıkarılması için birçok farklı model ve özellik birleşimi önerilmiştir. Bu makalede konuşma duygu tanıma görevi için bir sistem önerilmektedir. Bu sistemde konuşma duygu tanıma için uzun-kısa süreli bellek tabanlı bir derin öğrenme modeli önerilmiştir. Önerilen sistem ön-işlem, özellik çıkarma, özellik birleşimi, uzun-kısa süreli bellek ve sınıflandırma olmak üzere dört aşamadan oluşmaktadır. Önerilen sistemde konuşma verilerine ilk olarak kırpma ve ön-vurgu ön-işlemleri uygulanır. Bu işlemlerden sonra elde edilen konuşma verilerinden Mel Frekans Kepstrum Katsayıları, Sıfır Geçiş Oranı ve Kök Ortalama Kare Enerji akustik özellikleri çıkarılarak birleştirilir. Birleştirilen bu özelliklerin uzamsal bilgilerinin yanında zaman içindeki akustik değişimleri sistemde önerilen uzun-kısa süreli bellek ve buna bağlı bir derin sinir ağı modeliyle öğrenilir. Son olarak softmax aktivasyon fonksiyonu ile öğrenilen bilgiler 8 farklı duyguya sınıflandırılır. Önerilen sistem RAVDESS ve TESS veri setlerinin birlikte kullanıldığı bir veri kümesinde test edilmiştir. Eğitim, doğrulama ve test sonuçlarında sırasıyla %99.87 , %85.14 , %88.92 oranlarında doğruluklar ölçülmüştür. Sonuçlar, son teknoloji çalışmalardaki doğruluklarla kıyaslanmış önerilen sistemin başarısı ortaya konmuştur.

Bitki hastalıklarının hızlı ve doğru teşhisi için makine öğrenmesine dayalı yaklaşımlar kullanılmaktadır. Son zamanlarda derin öğrenme yaklaşımı bitki türleri ve hastalıkları tanıma ile ilgili problemlerde de kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, kayısı hastalıklarının tespiti için Derin Evrişimsel Sinir Ağlarına (DESA) dayalı bir model önerilmiştir. Bu model, Evrişim, Relu, Normalizasyon, Havuzlama ve tam bağlı katmanlardan oluşmaktadır. Önerilen model için evrişim katmanlarında kullanılan filtrelerin pencere boyutu 3×3, 5×5, 7×7, 9×9 ve 11×11 olmak üzere beş farklı filtre çeşitleri kullanılarak deneysel çalışmalar gerçekleştirilmiştir. Önerilen çalışmayı test etmek için Bingöl ve İnönü Üniversitelerinin Ziraat Fakültelerinin çalışma alanlarından elde edilen kayısı hastalıklarından oluşan görüntüler kaydedilip kapsamlı bir veri tabanı inşa edilmiştir. Geliştirilen derin ağ modeli bu veri tabanı üzerinde test edilmiştir. Gerçekleştirilen deneysel sonuçlara göre, kayısı hastalıklarının tespiti için önerilen derin ağ modeli diğer geleneksel görüntü tanımlayıcılarına göre daha yüksek sınıflandırma başarısı elde edildiği gözlemlenmiştir.

Parallel corpora are data sets created by representing sentences with the same meaning in different languages. One of the most important elements that determine the quality in machine translation systems is the parallel corpora created in large quantities and with high quality. Such data for the Turkish – English language pair are generally insufficient. In this study, a large amount of parallel corpora has been created that can be used for academic translations between Turkish and English languages. While creating this data set, the abstracts of the postgraduate theses were used. The best matches were obtained using sentence alignment algorithms such as Vecalign and Hunalign. As a result of the studies, 1M parallel sentence pairs were obtained. In addition, an Bi-LSTM-based translation system was created to measure the quality of the obtained data. The created model obtained 15.8 Bleu points with zero-shot learning method on the TED (Tr-En) test set., Paralel corpora aynı anlama gelen cümlelerin farklı dillerde temsil edilmesiyle oluşturulan veri setleridir. Makine çeviri sistemlerinde kaliteyi belirleyen en önemli öğelerden birisi büyük miktarda ve yüksek kalitede oluşturulmuş paralel corporadır. Türkçe – İngilizce dil çifti için oluşturulan bu tür veriler genellikle yetersizdir. Bu çalışmada Türkçe – İngilizce dilleri arasında akademik çeviriler için kullanılabilecek büyük miktarda paralel corpora oluşturulmuştur. Bu veri seti oluşturulurken lisansüstü tezlerinin özet kısımları kullanılmıştır. Vecalign ve Hunalign gibi cümle hizalama algoritmaları kullanılarak en iyi eşleştirmeler elde edilmiştir. Yapılan çalışmalar sonucunda 1M paralel cümle çifti elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca elde edilen verinin kalitesini ölçebilmek için Bi-LSTM tabanlı çeviri sistemi oluşturulmuştur. Oluşturulan model TED(Tr-En) test seti üzerinde sıfır vuruş öğrenme (zero shot learning) yöntemiyle 15.8 Bleu puanı elde etmiştir.

The cutting and packing problem is the process ofcutting small pieces of certain sizes and proportions from materials used fordifferent purposes in industries. Because this problem cannot be expressed bymathematical models, combinational optimization in multidimensional space isutilized for the solution. The aim of this problem is to increase the usabilityof the material used for the placement process and to minimize the trim loss.In this study, a solution is presented to two-dimensional regular cutting andpacking problem by a combined method consisting of improved bottom-left,bottom-left fill placement algorithms, no-fit polygon and first fit decreasingheuristic algorithms. The improved bottom-left placement algorithm for theplacement of parts starting from the bottom-left part according to a certainpermutation order, bottom-left fill algorithm for the placement of suitablepieces to the available free spaces in placement model, no-fit polygon methodfor preventing the geometric overlap between the parts and the first fitdecreasing heuristic algorithm is used as the selection algorithm afterordering from large to small according to the parts areas. Placement processand performance evaluation was performed for 11 different test data. As aresult of the studies carried out with combined heuristic methods, it is seenthat there is a placement without any waste in P2 and P10 placement models.This shows that the optimal solution is obtained. In other placement models, atrim loss was obtained between 4.54% and 16.7%. The experimental results showthe effectiveness of the proposed heuristic methods for the solution of thecutting and packing problem., Kesme ve paketleme problemi,endüstrilerde farklı amaçlar için kullanılan malzemelerden belirli büyüklük veoranlarda küçük parçaların kesilmesi işlemidir. Bu problemin amacı, yerleştirme işlemiiçin kullanılan malzemenin kullanılabilirliğini arttırmak ve fire oranınıminimize etmektir. Bu çalışmada, iki boyutlu düzenli kesme ve paketleme problemine,geliştirilmiş alt-sol, alt-sol dolgu yerleşim algoritmaları, uygun olmayançokgen ve ilk uygun azalan sezgisel algoritmalarından oluşan birleştirilmiş biryöntem ile çözüm sunulmuştur. Parçaların belirli bir permütasyon sırasına görealt-sol kısımdan başlayarak yerleşimi için geliştirilmiş alt-sol yerleşimalgoritması, yerleşim modelinde mevcut boş alanlara uygun parçalarınyerleştirilmesi için alt-sol dolgu algoritması, parçalar arasında geometrikçakışmayı önlemek için uygun olmayan çokgen yöntemi ve parçalar alanlarına görebüyükten küçüğe doğru sıralandıktan sonra seçim algoritması olarak da ilk uygunazalan sezgisel algoritması kullanılmaktadır. 11 farklı test verisi içinyerleştirme işlemi gerçekleştirilmiş ve performans değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır.Birleştirilmiş sezgisel yöntemlerle gerçekleştirilen çalışmalar sonucunda P2 veP10 yerleşim modellerinde firesiz bir yerleşim olduğu görülmektedir. Bu daoptimal çözümün elde edildiğini göstermektedir. Diğer yerleşim modellerindeise, % 4.54 ile % 16.7 aralığında fire oranı elde edilmiştir. Deneyselsonuçlar, kesme ve paketleme probleminin çözümü için önerilen sezgiselyöntemlerin etkinliğini göstermektedir.

Image processing-based fire/flame detection has become popular in recent years. In this paper, a novel fire/flame detection system based on a new conversion matrix and artificial bee colony algorithm was presented. Flame and non-flame image pixel values were combined to have a new feature matrix. A conversion matrix was generated randomly. The conversion matrix was multiplied by the feature matrix. The error of this multiplication result was calculated using the K-means clustering algorithm. The conversion matrix was updated until getting desired performance using artificial bee colony algorithm. At the end of the updating process, updated conversion matrix was multiplied with all images in the dataset to move all images to new color space. The final images were converted into binary images. Otsu method was used to get binary images. These binary images were compared with the corresponding ground truth images in the dataset. The aim of this comparison is to calculate the similarity ratio of the two images. This ratio shows the extent to which the original image features are preserved. A forest fire dataset was used which has 500 forest fire images. It is publicly available and called as Corsican Fire Database. Jaccard and Dice similarity measure parameters were used to evaluate the proposed system performance and compared with other similar study such as particle swarm optimization. Evaluated mean Jaccard index value was 0.76, and mean Dice index value was 0.85. This evaluation was made for 500 images. These results provide that this system can be used in fire/flame detection systems.

In this paper, we proposed Multi-model LSTM-based Pre-trained Convolutional Neural Networks (MLP-CNNs) as an ensemble majority voting classifier for the detection of plant diseases and pests. The proposed hybrid model is based on the combination of LSTM network with pre-trained CNN models. Specifically, in transfer learning, we adopted deep feature extraction from various fully connected layers of these pre-trained deep models. AlexNet, GoogleNet and DenseNet201 models are used in this work for feature extraction. The extracted deep features are then fed into the LSTM layer in order to construct a robust hybrid model for apple disease and pest detection. Later, the output predictions of three LSTM layers determined the class labels of the input images by majority voting classifier. In addition, we use an automatic scheme for determining the best choice of the network parameters of the LSTM layer. The experiments are carried out using data consisting of real-time apple disease and pest images from Turkey and the accuracy rates are calculated for performance evaluation. The experimental results show that by using the proposed ensemble combination structure, the results are comparable to, or better than, the pre-trained deep architectures.

Orman yangınları, ekolojik dengeyi olumsuz yönde etkileyen bir afet türüdür. Orman yangınlarının olumsuz etkilerini azaltmak için yangının yapısının iyi bilinmesi gerekir. Bu çalışmada, orman yangın görüntülerinden elde edilen renksel ve dokusal özellikler kullanılarak alev görüntüleri sınıflandırılmıştır. Yapılan çalışmada alev ve alev olmayan 3100 adet görüntü kesiti üzerinde incelemeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Renk özelliklerinin belirlenmesinde RGB renk uzayı kullanılmıştır. Dokusal özelliklerin belirlenmesinde ise Laws’ın Doku Enerji Ölçümleri ve Gri Seviye Eş Oluşum Matrisinden gelen doku özellikleri kullanılmıştır. Alev ve alev olmayan kesitlerden öznitelikler çıkarıldıktan sonra, Destek Vektör Makineleri ve Yapay Sinir Ağları ile sınıflandırılmıştır. Sınıflandırma başarısı Destek Vektör Makineleri ile %95, Yapay Sinir Ağları ile %96 olarak belirlenmiştir.

Plants play a crucial role in the lives of all living things. A risk of extinction exists for many plants, hence many botanists and scientists are working in order to protect plants and plant diversity. Plant identification is the most important part of studies carried out for this purpose. In order to identify plants more accurately, different approaches have been used in the studies to date. One of these approaches is plant identification through leaf recognition, and is the basis of many conducted studies. It can be used for automatic plant recognition in the area of botany, the food sector, industry, medicine, and in many more areas too. In this study, image processing based on feature extraction methods such as color features, vein features, Fourier Descriptors (FD), and Gray-Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) methods are used. This study suggests the use of features extracted from leaves divided into two or four parts, instead of extracting for the whole leaf. Both the individual and combined performances of each feature extraction method are calculated by Extreme Learning Machines (ELM) classifier. The suggested approach has been applied to the Flavia leaf dataset. 10-fold cross-validation was used to evaluate the accuracy of the proposed method, which was then compared and tabulated with methods from other studies. The evaluated accuracy of the proposed method on the Flavia leaf dataset was calculated as 99.10%.

Bitki türlerini doğru tespit edebilmek için bugüne kadar yapılan çalışmalarda farklı yaklaşımlar kullanılmıştır. Bu yaklaşımlardan en temel olan bitki yaprakları, şekil, renk ve damar dokusu gibi avantajlara sahip birçok özellik içermektedir. Bu çalışmada açıdan bağımsız olarak yaprağın geometrik özelliklerine dayalı yeni bir yaklaşım önerilmiştir. Kenar Adım (KA) olarak adlandırılan bu yöntem, şeklin sınır eğrilerindeki kenar noktalar kullanılarak açı, merkez-kenar uzunluğu ve kenar mesafesi gibi özelliklerden oluşmaktadır. Ayrıca doku tanımada iyi hassasiyet göstermesi, hızlı hesaplama yapması ve yön bağımsızlığı gibi özelliklere sahip olan Shearlet Dönüşüm yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu yöntemlere ek olarak renk özellikleri ile Gri Seviye Eş-Oluşum Matrisleri (GSEM) yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Tüm bu yöntemlerden elde edilen öznitelikler ayrı ayrı ve bileşik olarak Aşırı Öğrenme Makineleri (AÖM) sınıflandırıcı yöntemi ile test edilmiştir. Flavia, Swedish, ICL ve Foliage gibi dört farklı bitki yaprak veri setleri kullanılarak önerilen çalışma test edilmiştir. Bu veri setleri kullanılarak doku, şekil ve renk özelliklerine dayalı yapılan çalışmalar ile önerilen yaklaşımın performansı kıyaslanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, önerilen çalışmanın diğer çalışmalara göre daha başarılı olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The timely and accurate diagnosis of plant diseases plays an important role in preventing the loss of productivity and loss or reduced quantity of agricultural products. In order to solve such problems, methods based on machine learning can be used. In recent years, deep learning, which is especially widely used in image processing, offers many new applications related to precision agriculture. In this study, we evaluated the performance results using different approaches of nine powerful architectures of deep neural networks for plant disease detection. Transfer learning and deep feature extraction methods are used, which adapt these deep learning models to the problem at hand. The utilized pretrained deep models are considered in the presented work for feature extraction and for further fine-tuning. The obtained features using deep feature extraction are then classified by support vector machine (SVM), extreme learning machine (ELM), and K-nearest neighbor (KNN) methods. The experiments are carried out using data consisting of real disease and pest images from Turkey. The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and F1-score are all calculated for performance evaluation. The evaluation results show that deep feature extraction and SVM/ELM classification produced better results than transfer learning. In addition, the fc6 layers of the AlexNet, VGG16, and VGG19 models produced better accuracy scores when compared to the other layers.

Hyperspectral images are images containing rich spectral and spatial information widely used in remote sensing applications. The development of deep learning techniques has had a significant impact on the classification of hyperspectral images. Different Convolutional Neural Network architectures have been used in many hyperspectral image analysis studies. However, the high dimensions of the hyperspectral images increased the computational complexity. For this reason, dimensionality reduction has been used in the preprocessing stage in many studies. Another difficulty encountered in hyperspectral image classification studies is the need to consider both spectral and spatial features. When deep spatial and spectral features are to be extracted, problems such as loss of gradient properties and degradation due to increased depth arise. In this study, the 3D convolutional neural network (CNN) based ResNet50 method is proposed to solve these problems encountered in hyperspectral studies and to extract sufficient spatial spectral properties from the network. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was used to reduce spectral band excess. The proposed method has been applied to Pavia University and Salinas data sets. Overall accuracy, average accuracy and kappa values were used to measure the performance of the method. Calculated overall accuracy, average accuracy, and kappa values are 99.99% for the Pavia University data set, and while the overall accuracy and kappa values were 99.99% for the Salinas data set, the average accuracy value was 99.98%.

Surface defects detection in products used in industry such as steel, fabric and marble is very important in terms of increasing product quality and preventing financial losses. However, automatic surface defects detection is a very difficult problem due to the complexity and diversity of surface defects. In this study, U-net based VGG16-Unet and Resnet34- Unet network models are proposed for Surface defects detection. The proposed model used spatial features in the first layers together with deep semantic features. In the proposed network models, the trained weights of the VGG16 and Resnet34 network architectures were used for the input parameters of the Unet architecture. In experimental studies, the highest F1-score value for MT and AITEX data sets was obtained as 91.07% and 94.67%, respectively, with the proposed Resnet34-Unet model. According to the results, it was observed that the defective areas showing similarity with the background were successfully separated by using the proposed model.

WOS:000760108100003 The high dimensionality of hyperspectral remote sensing images (HRSI) affects the classification performance. Therefore, most HRSI classification methods use dimension reduction methods as a solution for high dimensionality. It is aimed to extract useful features with dimension reduction methods. At the end of this process, the data dimension is reduced and the transaction cost is decreased. In this study, LDA, PCA, IPCA, ICA, SPCA, RPCA and SVD dimension reduction methods were applied as a preprocessing step to improve HRSI classification performance. Since HRSI is volumetric data and has a spectral dimension, 2D CNN cannot extract good distinguishing features from spectral dimensions. Because 2D CNN only considers spatial information. With 3D CNN, spectral-spatial features are extracted simultaneously. However, 3D CNN increases the computational cost. Therefore, in this study, Hybrid 3D/2D CNN method is used together with dimension reduction methods. Hybrid CNN method consists of a combination of 3D CNN, 2D CNN and depthwise separable convolution. While 3D CNN extracts common spectral-spatial features, more spatial features are learned with 2D CNN used after 3D CNN. With depthwise separable convolution, it reduces the number of parameters and overfitting is prevented. The applications performed on the frequently used HRSI benchmark datasets show that the classification performance of the proposed method is better than the compared methods. In addition, Indian pines, HyRANK-Loukia, Botswana and Pavia of University datasets are used to examine the effect of dimension reduction methods used together with the hybrid 3D/2D CNN method on classification performance. As a result of the applications, the best classification accuracies were obtained in PCA, LDA and IPCA with Indian pines, PCA with Pavia of university, PCA and IPCA with Salinas, PCA, RPCA and LDA dimension reduction methods with HyRANK-Loukia.

A lot of important disease information can be accessed by performing retinal blood vessel analysis on fundus images. Diabetic retinopathy is one of the diseases understood by retinal blood vessel analysis. If this disease is detected at an early stage, vision loss can be prevented. In this paper, a method that performs retinal blood vessel analysis with classical methods is proposed. In this proposed system, pixel-based feature extraction is performed. Five different feature groups are used for feature extraction. These feature groups are edge detection, morphological, statistical, gradient, and Hessian matrix. An 18-D feature vector is created for each pixel. This feature vector is given to the artificial neural network for training. Using test images, the system is tested on two publicly available datasets. Sensitivity, Specificity, and Accuracy performance measures were used as success measures. The similarity index between the segmented image and the ground truth is measure using Dice and Jaccard. The accuracy of the system was measured as 96.18% for DRIVE and 94.56% for STARE, respectively. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves satisfactory results. This method can be used as an automated retinal blood vessel segmenting system.

Fabric quality control is one of the most important phases of production in order to ensure high-quality standards in the fabric production sector. For this reason, the development of successful automatic quality control systems has been a very important research subject. In this study, we propose a Multiple Pooling and Filter approach based on a Deep Neural Network (MPF-DNN) for the classification of texture defects. This model consists of three basic stages: preprocessing, feature extraction, and classification. In the preprocessing stage, the texture images were first divided into n × n equal parts. Then, median filtering and pooling processes were applied to each piece prior to performing image merging. In the proposed pre-treatment stage, it is aimed to clarify fabric errors and increase performance. For the feature extraction stage, deep features were extracted from the texture images using the pretrained ResNet101 model based on the transfer learning approach. Finally, classification and testing procedures were conducted on the obtained deep-effective properties using the SVM method. The multiclass TILDA dataset was used in order to test the proposed model. In experimental work, the MPF-DNN model for all four classes achieved a significant overall accuracy score of 95.82%. In the results obtained from extensive experimental studies, it was observed that the proposed MPF-DNN model was more successful than previous studies that used pretrained deep architectures.

The feature selection can be defined as the selection of the best subset to represent the data set, that is, the removal of unnecessary data that does not affect the result. The efficiency and accuracy of the system can be increased by decreasing the size and the feature selection in classification applications. In this study, text classification was applied by using “20 news group” data published by Reuters news agency. The pre-processed news data were converted into vectors using the Doc2Vec method and a data set was created. This data set is classified by the Maximum Entropy Classification method. Afterwards, a subset of data sets was created by using the Mutual Information Method for the feature selection. Reclassification was performed with the resulting data set and the results were compared according to the performance rates. While the success of the system with 600 features was (0.9285) before the feature selection, (0.9285), then, the performance rates of the 200, 100, 50, 20 models were obtained as (0.9454, 0.9426, 0.9407, 0.9123), respectively. When the results were examined, the success of the 50-featured model was higher than the 600-featured model initially created.

Data, which is the new trend of 21st century, has made difficult to extract meaningful information from itself because of its increasing volume and variety Big data platforms and tools to analyze the size and type of data that cannot be processed by traditional methods have brought new perspectives to data analytics. Big Data are gathered from non-traditional sources such as wireless sensors, blogs, social media, emails etc. In addition, companies can make better insights of large data sets by using large data analysis mechanisms. In this study, the definition of big data, its relationship with other technologies, technologies used in big data area and general information about analysis techniques are given.

Feature selection can be defined as the selection of the best subset to represent the data set in machine learning applications, in other words extraction of the unnecessary data that has no effect on the result. In classification problems efficiency and accuracy of the system can be increased when the dimension is reduced by feature selection. In this study, text classifying application is performed by using the data set of “20 News Group” released in Reuters News Agent. The pre-processed news data were converted to vectors by using Doc2Vec method and the data set was created and classified by Naive Bayes method. Subsequently, a subset of the data set was formed by using heuristic methods that were inspired by nature (Whale and Gray Wolf Optimization Algorithms) and Chi-square method for feature selection. Then the reclassification was applied and the results were compared. While the success of the system with 600 features before the feature selection is 0.9214, the performance ratio of the 100 featured models created later is figured higher (0.94095 - 0.93833- 0.93619).

Honey bees are one of the most important pollinators for a wide range of products in the food chain. Today, with the help of developing technology, observing bees healthy controls is a very important field of study. In this study, the images taken in the natural environment of the bees were processed with Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture and the health status of the bees were classified. The results obtained were promising for the studies to be carried out in this area. In addition, the structure of the CNN architectures was studied and the CNN architectures with different types and number of layers were compared with each other. As a result of the comparison, using the ideal number of convolution layers instead of using a great number of convolution layers for CNN architectures, increases the success. In addition, the use of normalization layers that serve as supporters in CNN architectures has been found to be very important for increasing success. In this study, 5 different CNN architectures were developed and the classification results obtained with these architectures were analyzed. Among the architectures developed, KM_1 network architecture has achieved the best results with a success rate of 92,42.

Recently, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), which is used in the solution of many image processing problems, has been used successfully for many problems in the agricultural field . In this study, for classification of plant species is proposed an approach based on the combination of deep architectures. Deep features were extracted from the plant leaves using the fc6 layer of the previously trained AlexNet and VGG16 models. Then, the reduction of the number of deep features by using the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method was done quickly and the best distinguishing features were obtained. Finally, the classification performances were calculated using the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) method. Flavia and Swedish plant leaf data sets were used to test the proposed system. According to the experimental results, the accuracy scores for Flavia and Swedish data sets was obtained as 99.42% and 99.64%, respectively.
