This article aims to explore the idea of describing the complete evolution process of the universe with a cosmological model. For this purpose, we work on a recently developed generalized symmetric teleparallel gravity called $f(Q,T)$ gravity, where $Q$ and $T$ represent the non-metricity scalar and trace of the energy-momentum tensor. We present two $f(Q,T)$ cosmological models for two different Lagrangian forms of $f(Q,T)$ and discuss their cosmological parameters. Further, we discuss various energy conditions to check the viability of those models and also discuss the scalar field construction for describing the inflationary scenario in the early times. In addition, we examine the dark energy nature of the presumed cosmological solution by employing state-finder diagnostics and $\omega-\omega^{\prime}$ phase space analysis. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are persistent organic pollutants that impart several hazardous effects on the environment. Extracellular enzymes released by filamentous fungi are well-known participants in the degradation of such organic pollutants. The present study aims to determine the interaction of pyrene with Lac1 protein, coding for the extracellular laccase enzyme from Trichoderma sp. CNSC-2. Lac1 sequence analysis revealed the stable and acidic nature of the laccase enzyme. The dominance of random coils (54.8%) and extended strands (28.3%) in secondary structure defined protein flexibility. 3D homology modeling followed by validation revealed a high-quality model with 94.8% residues in the favored zone of Ramachandran plot. Molecular docking study with pyrene displayed a significant binding affinity of −7.82 kcal mol−1 with the amino acid residues at the active binding site of Lac1, indicating a strong role in pyrene binding. Trichoderma sp. CNSC-2 achieved 69.42 ± 0.4% of pyrene removal efficiency at 100 mg l−1 pyrene concentration on day 12 of incubation. Laccase activity during pyrene degradation simultaneously increased, and the highest activity was observed on day 6 of incubation. Enzyme production was found to be optimum at pH 6 (p < 0.001) and 30°C temperature (p < 0.0001). FTIR analysis showed deviation in the amide bands of laccase in the presence of pyrene, and additional peaks coinciding with pyrene metabolites were observed. The decrease in intensity of laccase due to quenching by pyrene interaction was determined by fluorescence spectroscopy. Thus, this study suggested a strong binding affinity of pyrene to the laccase active site implying the potential role of laccase enzyme from Trichoderma sp. CNSC-2 in pyrene degradation.

In this study, we investigate $f(\bar{R},\bar{T})$ gravity in a {\it non-standard} theory known as {\bf K-}essence theory, to explore the effect of the dark energy in the cosmological scenarios, where $\bar{R}$ is the Ricci scalar and $\bar{T}$ is the trace of the energy-momentum tensor of the {\bf K-}essence geometry. We have used the Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) non-standard Lagrangian to produce the {\bf K-}essence emergent gravity metric $(\bar{G}_{\mu\nu})$, which is non-conformally equivalent to the gravitational metric $(g_{\mu\nu})$. It has been shown that under a flat FLRW background gravitational metric, the modified field equations and Friedmann equations of the $f(\bar{R},\bar{T})$ gravity are distinct from the usual ones. To obtain the equation of state (EoS) parameter $\omega$, we have solved the Friedmann equations by considering $f(\bar{R},\bar{T})\equiv f(\bar{R})+\lambda \bar{T}$, where $\lambda$ is a model parameter. For several forms of $f(\bar{R})$, we have identified a connection between $\omega$ and time by considering the kinetic energy of the {\bf K-}essence scalar field ($\dot{\phi}^{2}$) as the dark energy density that changes with time. Interestingly, this finding meets the requirement of the constraint on $\dot{\phi}^{2}$. This paper analyses the impact of transmission of international oil prices and domestic oil price pass-through policy on major macroeconomic variables in India with the help of a macroeconomic policy simulation model. Three major channels of transmission viz. import channel, price channel and fiscal channel are explored with the help of a comparative static macroeconomic general equilibrium framework. The policy option of deregulation of domestic oil prices in the scenario of occurrence of a one-time shock in international oil prices as well as no oil price shock situation analysed through its impact on growth, inflation, fiscal balances and external balances during the 12th Plan period of 2012-13 to 2016-17. The simulation results indicate that the deregulation policy as such would have adverse impact on the growth as well as on the inflation. But if this policy is complemented with the policy of switching of subsidy bill to capital expenditure might result in positive growth effects only in the medium term. Given, the current pass-through policy, one-time oil shock has more intense adverse impact on growth and inflation in the year of shock while it mitigates slowly over time. The model shows that with the oil shock and with current partial pass-through regime, a 10 per cent rise in oil prices result in a 0.6 per cent fall in growth while in the full pass-through situation, it can reduce the growth by 0.9 per cent. Overall, the paper argues that the pass-through has diferential impact on growth and inflation over the 12th Plan period. Hence, the policy of oil price deregulation must be carefully weighed and prioritized.

Faced with more and more stringent regulations, nowadays heavy metals are the environmental priority pollutants and are becoming one of the most serious environmental problems. A variety of remediation technologies are currently available to address these classes of pollutants (Fu and Wang 2011; Yao et al. 2012). However, many of they have several disadvantages such as a high cost and the risk of secondary contamination (de Souza et al. 2013).
