This study aims to investigate the role of race in the construction of eyewitness lineups. We will examine lineup composition using the psychological face spaces created in a previous multi-dimensional scaling study (https://osf.io/7rjud). The examination of similarity between lineup members at a fine-grained level will give clues on the strategies used in constructing the lineups. We will further investigate the process of lineup construction across own- and cross-race participants by examining variables such as the time taken to construct each lineup, the number of faces considered, and the number of unique faces selected for a given suspect across participants. In addition to examination of lineup construction, a central goal of the current work is to develop new measures of lineup properties using the psychological face spaces.
