In the past decade, people’s life is getting better and better, and the attention to sports competition is also increasing. In the current information age, sports and athletes’ data are very important, especially team football. In college, football coaches can use the data to analyze the situation of college football players and opposing players to better specify the corresponding tactics to win the game. However, at present, most of the data results need to be manually recorded and counted on the spot or after the game. In the process of statistics, Zhou Jing will inevitably have omissions and other problems. For this problem, a method based on space-time graph convolution. In the process, machine vision and motion recognition methods are combined, and the joint movements of different football players are extracted through the pose estimation method to obtain motion recognition results. The results showed that the football motion recognition using the research method reached 98% on the dataset, which significantly improved the accuracy of nearly 5% over the existing state-of-the-art methods. At the same time, the accuracy rate of football movements was less than 5%. This means that the research method can effectively identify football sports, and can be widely used in other fields, and promote the development of human movement recognition in human-computer interaction and smart city and other fields.

It has been demonstrated that microwave pretreatment can weaken rocks, reduce tool wear, and improve mechanical rock breaking efficiency. The dielectric properties of rock minerals are a major factor affecting the ability of rocks to absorb microwaves, so it is important to conduct experimental research on rock modification to improve the microwave absorption capacity of rocks. The concept of “microwave-assisted absorbing reagents” has been proposed to increase the microwave absorption capacity of rocks. Sandstone specimens are first pretreated with strong dielectric substances before being exposed to microwave radiation to increase their microwave absorption capacity, then they are exposed to microwave fields and finally conducted to uniaxial compression tests. Enhancement in microwave absorption capacity of sandstone specimens is showed by P-wave velocity, nuclear magnetic resonance, and mechanical tests before and after microwave treatment. The results showed that barium titanate suspension and water are both effective microwave-assisted absorbing agents. The specimens treated with barium titanate suspension exhibited better microwave absorption capacity; in 5 kW microwave power irradiation, its p-wave velocity falls by 14.04%, porosity rises by 25.43%, and uniaxial compressive strength falls by 24.98%. Additionally, the failure form of sandstone specimens changes from brittle to plastic once it has fully absorbed microwave energy.

Inflammation is considered a natural reaction of the immune system that can be caused by several factors such as pathogens, chemical substances, and damaged cells. Since the classical era, therapeutic substances have been made from medicinal plants. According to recent studies, nanotechnology provides a fresh approach to maintaining the standard quality, distribution, and bioactivity of therapeutic compounds. This review emphasizes the anti-inflammatory effects of green, synthetic, plant-based nanoparticles and nanoemulsions. A reduction of the dosage of anti-inflammatory medications and an improved therapeutic impact is highly desirable with an efficient drug delivery method. Along with the discussion of nanotechnology of medicinal plant-based anti-inflammatory effects, this review also offers a perspective view of the use of nanoparticles and nanoemulsions in inflammatory diseases in the future.

Kidney disease is associated with adverse consequences in many organs beyond the kidney, including the heart, lungs, brain, and intestines. The kidney-intestinal cross talk involves intestinal epithelial damage, dysbiosis, and generation of uremic toxins. Recent studies reveal that kidney injury expands the intestinal lymphatics, increases lymphatic flow, and alters the composition of mesenteric lymph. The intestinal lymphatics, like blood vessels, are a route for transporting potentially harmful substances generated by the intestines. The lymphatic architecture and actions are uniquely suited to take up and transport large macromolecules, functions that differentiate them from blood vessels, allowing them to play a distinct role in a variety of physiological and pathological processes. Here, we focus on the mechanisms by which kidney diseases result in deleterious changes in intestinal lymphatics and consider a novel paradigm of a vicious cycle of detrimental organ cross talk. This concept involves kidney injury–induced modulation of intestinal lymphatics that promotes production and distribution of harmful factors, which in turn contributes to disease progression in distant organ systems.

The formulation of the CFD-DEM model, CD-MELT, is established in this study to include three-phase non-isothermal processes with simultaneous combustion and melting for gasification simulations. To demonstrate the model capability, CD-MELT is used to assess the need for slag recycling for the non-isothermal melting of municipal solid wastes (MSW) in a prototype waste-to-energy research facility. The simulation encompasses the full fixed-bed slagging gasification process, including chemical reactions and melting of MSW and slag. In order to assess the need for slag recycling, comparisons are made for the two cases of with and without, in terms of the slag mass, liquid slag volume fraction, exit gas composition, and temperature distribution in the gasifier. The prediction results enable the tracking of liquid molten slag as it permeates through the solids-packed bed for the first time in the literature as far as we are aware, which is crucial to address design considerations such as distribution of bed temperature and optimal location for slag-tap holes at the bottom, as well as potential slag clogging within the porous media. The model also predicts an uneven and intermittent slag permeation through the packed bed without the recycling, and provides a plausible explanation for the operators’ experience of why slag recycling is important for process stability. Finally, the predicted slag outlet temperature using the proposed CFD approach also agrees well with the measurement data published in an earlier case study for the same facility.

The trapped-ion system has been a leading platform for practical quantum computation and quantum simulation since the first scheme of a quantum gate was proposed by Cirac and Zoller in 1995. Quantum gates with trapped ions have shown the highest fidelity among all physical platforms. Recently, sophisticated schemes of quantum gates such as amplitude, phase, frequency modulation, or multi-frequency application, have been developed to make the gates fast, robust to many types of imperfections, and applicable to multiple qubits. The complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of the soft coral Sinularia acuta Manuputty and van Ofwegen, 2007 was sequenced and annotated using Illumina next-generation sequencing (NGS). The mitogenome of S. acuta was 18,730 bp in length and consisted of 14 protein-coding genes (PCGs), two ribosomal RNA genes (rRNA), and only one transfer RNA gene (tRNA-Met). The base composition was 30.18% A, 16.46% C, 19.35% G, and 34.00% T, with a total A + T content of 64.19%. The phylogenetic analysis demonstrated a close evolutionary relationship among Sinularia acuta, Sinularia penghuensis, and Sinularia maxima.

We aim to evaluate the value of LI-RADS 2018 with agent-enhanced MRI in the postoperative prognosis of PLC patients with cirrhosis.Methods: Between 2016 and 2021, 432 patients with cirrhosis and surgically proven single primary liver cancer were retrospectively evaluated. Two radiologists evaluated the preoperative MRI features independently and assigned each lesion a LI-RADS category. Overall survival (OS), recurrence-free survival (RFS), and their associated factors were evaluated by using the Kaplan-Meier method, Log rank test, and Cox proportional hazards model.Results: The mean age of 432 patients (239 HCCs, 93 ICCs, and 100 cHCC-CCAs) was 57.27± 10.92 years. The LR-M category showed poorer OS and RFS than the LR-4 or LR-5 category did for all primary liver cancers (P < 0.001 for both), and so did HCCs with tumor size less than 30mm (P =0.003 and P =0.04, respectively). In the multivariable analysis, the LI-RADS category and tumor size > 30 mm had independent correlations with OS and RFS (all P < 0.05). Multivariable Cox analysis identified rim arterial phase hyperenhancement (APHE) as independent determinants of poor OS and RFS in primary liver cancers (all P < 0.05).Conclusion: The LI-RADS categories can predict the postsurgical prognosis of primary liver cancers independently.Keywords: hepatocellular carcinoma, magnetic resonance imaging, prognosis, liver cirrhosis

In eukaryotes, the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) and the autophagy-lysosome pathway (ALP) are essential for maintaining cellular proteostasis and associated with cancer progression. Our previous studies have demonstrated that phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN), one of the most frequently mutated genes in human cancers, limits proteasome abundance and determines chemosensitivity to proteasome inhibitors in cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). However, whether PTEN regulates the lysosome pathway remains unclear.We tested the effects of PTEN on lysosome biogenesis and exosome secretion using loss- and gain-of-function strategies in CCA cell lines. Using in vitro dephosphorylation assays, we explored the regulatory mechanism between PTEN and the key regulator of lysosome biogenesis, transcription factor EB (TFEB). Using the migration assays, invasion assays, and trans-splenic liver metastasis mouse models, we evaluated the function of PTEN deficiency, TFEB-mediated lysosome biogenesis, and exosome secretion on tumor metastasis. Moreover, we investigated the clinical significance of PTEN expression and exosome secretion by retrospective analysis.PTEN facilitated lysosome biogenesis and acidification through its protein phosphatase activity to dephosphorylate TFEB at Ser211. Notably, PTEN deficiency increased exosome secretion by reducing lysosome-mediated degradation of multi-vesicular bodies (MVBs), which further facilitated the proliferation and invasion of CCA. TFEB agonist curcumin analog C1 restrained the metastatic phenotype caused by PTEN deficiency in mouse models, and we highlighted the correlation between PTEN deficiency and exosome secretion in clinical cohorts.In CCA, PTEN deficiency impairs lysosome biogenesis to facilitate exosome secretion and cancer metastasis in a TFEB phosphorylation-dependent manner.

Heart failure is the ultimate deterioration of the heart due to disease. It is associated with high rates of hospitalization and mortality. Every hospitalization affects the patient physically and mentally and it also places a heavy burden of medical care on the patient’s family and society. Patients often relapse after treatment and are readmitted due to too much water intake and other unhealthy lifestyles at home. Thus, proper posthospitalization care is essential to prevent hospital readmissions. Properly assisting patients with disease self-management at home is a primary priority. Communication content analysis is a methodology for objectively and systematically studying the content of patient communication in various formats. This study analyzed the clinical data from a patient’s hospitalization and the follow-up interviews through phone and clinical visits. The care process was recorded as a behavioral process. In view of the patient’s lack of understanding of disease care and water intake, we used content analysis to continuously observe feedback, treatment plans, and actions in the care of the patient to understand her real needs. The results of this study provide a care model that integrates individual and family care activities to provide efficacious health management. The patient also aimed to adjust her original lifestyle. As a result, the patient developed a better understanding of the disease and, thus, improved management of the disease. &nbsp

This study lies in the burgeoning literature on the contextual effects of the adoption of mobile applications (apps) on the everyday lives and integration of older migrants into a host society, taking the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) in South China as a case. Despite recent advocacy of healthy ageing and regional integration, most GBA studies related to cross-border ageing have focused on welfare portability instead of the everyday life adaptation of older migrants through use of digital technologies. This article investigates and compares how mobile apps have facilitated/hindered the integration of Hong Kong older migrants in Shenzhen, through a comparative investigation of mobile app adoption between Hong Kong older migrants and local Shenzhen older adults. A mixed-method approach is adopted including focus group meetings with Hong Kong older migrants living in Shenzhen, and questionnaire surveys with Shenzhen local older adults between September 2021 and March 2022. The study sheds light on two major findings. First, facing the highly digitalized Shenzhen, Hong Kong older migrants have caught up more with using instrumental apps (e.g. mobile payment), as compared with recreational, informational, and open (one-to-many) communication apps. Second, Hong Kong older migrants have emphasized the use of apps for cross-border interactions. The digital gaps in terms of different using patterns of mobile apps highlight Hong Kong older migrants’ lack of socio-cultural integration and feeling of separation from the host society. This study advocates for more active involvement of older migrants’ specific needs in designing mobile apps. Multi-scalar cooperation among various localities in the GBA region is deemed important for older migrants to further integrate into the host society with the widespread use of digital technologies in everyday life.

The native T1 values of the myocardium provide valuable information for tissue characterization and assessment of cardiomyopathies. In this study, we proposed a novel hybrid MOLLI sequence for myocardial T1 mapping. Unlike the two groups of inversion-recovery sampling of the conventional MOLLI5(3 s)3 sequence, the hybrid MOLLI sequence consisted of an inversion-recovery block followed by a saturation-recovery block. Since the second block employed a saturation pulse to spoil the longitudinal magnetization, it did not require a waiting period as MOLLI5(3 s)3 did. As a result, the hybrid MOLLI required less acquisition time leading to a practical application for patients with breath-hold difficulties. Phantom and healthy subject experiments were performed to evaluate the proposed sequence against the MOLLI5(3 s)3 sequence. The phantom study showed that the heart-rate dependency of one variant of the hybrid MOLLI sequences, hbMOLLI4, was comparable to that of MOLLI5(3 s)3. In addition, both hbMOLLI4 and MOLLI53 derived T1 values under 2% variations with simulated heart rates from 50 to 90 beats-per-minute within the range of T1 values for myocardium and blood before contrast administration. Simulation results suggested slightly reduced T1 fitting precision in hbMOLLI4 compared with MOLLI5(3 s)3, but prominently better than saturation recovery. Bland-Altman analysis on accuracy assessment revealed that hbMOLLI4 partially reduced the T1 underestimation of MOLLI5(3 s)3. Dimethylsulfoniopropionate (DMSP) is a ubiquitous organosulfur compound in marine environments with important functions in both microorganisms and global biogeochemical carbon and sulfur cycling. The SAR11 clade and marine Roseobacter group (MRG) represent two major groups of heterotrophic bacteria in Earth’s surface oceans, which can accumulate DMSP to high millimolar intracellular concentrations. However, few studies have investigated how SAR11 and MRG bacteria import DMSP. Here, through comparative genomics analyses, genetic manipulations, and biochemical analyses, we identified an ABC (ATP-binding cassette)-type DMSP-specific transporter, DmpXWV, in Ruegeria pomeroyi DSS-3, a model strain of the MRG. Mutagenesis suggested that DmpXWV is a key transporter responsible for DMSP uptake in strain DSS-3. DmpX, the substrate binding protein of DmpXWV, had high specificity and binding affinity towards DMSP. Furthermore, the DmpX DMSP-binding mechanism was elucidated from structural analysis. DmpX proteins are prevalent in the numerous cosmopolitan marine bacteria outside the SAR11 clade and the MRG, and dmpX transcription was consistently high across Earth’s entire global ocean. Therefore, DmpXWV likely enables pelagic marine bacteria to efficiently import DMSP from seawater. This study offers a new understanding of DMSP transport into marine bacteria and provides novel insights into the environmental adaption of marine bacteria.

Pain and anxiety comorbidities are a common health problem, but the neural mechanisms underlying comorbidity remain unclear. We propose that comorbidity implies that similar brain regions and neural circuits, with the lateral septum (LS) as a major candidate, process pain and anxiety. From results of behavioral and neurophysiological experiments combined with selective LS manipulation in mice, we find that LS GABAergic neurons were critical for both pain and anxiety. Selective activation of LS GABAergic neurons induced hyperalgesia and anxiety-like behaviors. In contrast, selective inhibition of LS GABAergic neurons reduced nocifensive withdrawal responses and anxiety-like behaviors. This was found in two mouse models, one for chronic inflammatory pain (induced by complete Freund’s adjuvant) and one for anxiety (induced by chronic restraint stress). Additionally, using TetTag chemogenetics to functionally mark LS neurons, we found that activation of LS neurons by acute pain stimulation could induce anxiety-like behaviors and vice versa. Furthermore, we show that LS GABAergic projection to the lateral hypothalamus (LH) plays an important role in the regulation of pain and anxiety comorbidities. Our study revealed that LS GABAergic neurons, and especially the LSGABAergic-LH circuit, are a critical to the modulation of pain and anxiety comorbidities.

Cell traction mediates the biochemical and mechanical interactions between the cell and its extracellular matrix (ECM). Traction force microscopy (TFM) is a powerful technique for quantitative cellular scale traction analysis. However, it is challenging to characterize macromolecular scale traction events with current TFM due to the limited sampling density and algorithmic precision. In this article, we introduce a super-resolution TFM by utilizing a novel substrate surface modification method. Our TFM technique achieved a spatial resolution comparable to fluorescence microscopy and precision comparable to the rupture force of an integrin-ligand bond. Correlated imaging of TFM with fluorescence microscopy demonstrated that the residing paxillin highly correlated with traction while α5 integrin was located differently. Time-lapse TFM imaging captured a transient traction variation as the adhesion protein passed by. Thus, the novel super-resolution TFM benefits the studies on cellular biochemical and mechanical interactions.

Background: Ginseng (Panax ginseng Meyer) is a cultivated medicinal herb that has been widely available in the Asian region since the last century. Ginseng root is used worldwide in Oriental medicine. Currently, the global mortality and infection rates for lung cancer and inflammation are significantly increasing. Therefore, various preventative methods related to the activity of ginsenosides have been used for lung cancer as well as inflammation. Methods: Web-based searches were performed on Web of Science, Springer, PubMed, and Scopus. A cancer statistical analysis was also conducted to show the current ratio of affected cases and death from lung cancer around the world. Results: Ginsenosides regulate the enzymes that participate in tumor growth and migration, such as nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB), mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK), c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), extracellular signalregulated kinases 1/2 (ERK1/2), the gelatinase network metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2/9) and activator protein 1 (AP-1). In addition, ginsenosides also possess anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the formation of proinflammatory cytokines (tumor necrosis factor-α) (TNF-α) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and controlling the activities of inflammatory signalling pathways, such as NF-κB, Janus kinase2/signal transducer, and activator of transcription 3 (Jak2/Stat3). Conclusion: In several in vitro and in vivo models, P. ginseng showed potential beneficial effects in lung cancer and inflammation treatment. In this review, we provide a detailed and up-to-date summary of research evidence for antilung cancer and anti-inflammatory protective effects of ginsenosides and their potential molecular mechanisms.

This review provides an overview of the latest research progress in mRNA structural optimization strategies and their delivery systems, and discusses key considerations for their future clinical use.
