In recent years, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been widely used in autonomous cruise missions such as high-altitude aerial photography, power inspection, and geographic mapping with the advantages of flexible maneuvering and high stability. In order to ensure that UAVs can choose the most efficient and reliable flight route in complex environments, this paper designs a genetic algorithm-based path planning for UAVs in autonomous cruise operations. The main contents include: 1. Risk assessment of the route using the return value of the fitness function as the safety factor, and solving the optimal path between two points using an improved genetic algorithm; 2. The selection of strategies for multiple landing points under different conditions is proposed to form the optimal path for U AV cruising within range. Through the path planning verification experiments in Matlab, the results show that the improved genetic algorithm has a shorter total path distance compared with the traditional genetic algorithm, and the results have good feasibility and effectiveness.

It is important to study on the cooling capacity characteristics of a Joule-Thomson cryocooler for saving energy and space usage in space applications. For a Joule-Thomson cryocooler working at liquid helium temperature, the intrinsic mechanism for the difference between specific cooling capacity and specific latent cooling capacity is revealed. Based on thermodynamics, the steady working states of a Joule-Thomson cryocooler with different typical high pressures are analyzed systematically. The values of specific cooling capacity and specific latent cooling capacity are found to be affected by the high pressure in different ways. Meanwhile, the overloaded destabilization, which is caused by the heat load exceeding the cooling capacity of the Joule-Thomson cryocooler, is further explained. The temperature behaviors under typical overloaded conditions are illustrated theoretically. All these characteristics are verified with the experimental results acquired from an open-cycle Joule-Thomson cryocooler working at liquid helium temperature.

Cooling capacity of a Helium-4 JT cryocooler may be achieved at a temperature higher than liquid helium temperature. The latent cooling capacity, which should be obtained at liquid helium temperature, is defined as a special part of cooling capacity. With the thermodynamic analysis on steady working conditions of a Helium-4 JT cryocooler, its cooling capacity and temperature characteristics are presented systematically. The effects of precooling temperature and high pressure on the cooling capacity and latent cooling capacity are illustrated. Furthermore, the JT cryocoolers using hydrogen and neon as the working fluids are also discussed. It is shown that helium JT cryocooler has a special cooling capacity characteristic which does not exist in JT cryocoolers using other pure working fluids.
