Las comunidades biológicas están conformadas por grupos taxonómicos, donde el fitoplancton, como productor primario, tiene una relevancia ecológica: sirve para comprender la estructura y el funcionamiento de un ecosistema y la manera en la que los organismos interactúan con los parámetros fisicoquímicos. Con el fin de evaluar la riqueza y la abundancia del fitoplancton de la zona litoral del departamento del Atlántico y su asociación con las variables fisicoquímicas para conocer sus cambios espaciales y temporales, se realizaron monitoreos durante el año 2013. Se ubicaron cinco zonas a lo largo de la zona litoral como Astilleros, Santa Verónica, Puerto Velero, Puerto Colombia y Mallorquín. En cada una se establecieron tres estaciones, distribuidas en línea recta, con distancia entre ellas de 5 km. Para la recolecta de las muestras de fitoplancton y clorofila a (Cl-a), en cada una de las estaciones se filtraron 24 L de agua superficial, con un tambor cónico con malla de diámetro de poro de 24 µm y con botellas ámbar de 500 mL, respectivamente, las cuales se mantuvieron en oscuridad. Adicionalmente, se registraron in situ variables fisicoquímicas. Se identificaron un total de 560 cél.mL-1 de fitoplancton, agrupadas en 47 especies y cinco clases. Las Bacillariophyceae presentaron las mayores densidad y riqueza, seguidas de las Dinophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Euglenophyceae y Chlorophyceae. Chaetoceros sp. (83 cél.mL-1) y Chaetoceros lorenzianus (64 cél.mL-1) fueron las especies más abundantes y más representativas, precisamente por su abundancia. El análisis de Jaccard mostró una disimilitud de un 80 % entre las estaciones 5A, 5B y 5C, lo que indica una composición diferente. En general, las estaciones de monitoreo se comportaron como sitios contaminados con alta influencia de las aguas del río Magdalena.

El artículo propone analizar el vínculo de las dietas informativas ciudadanas con otras variables de comportamiento político como la sofisticación política (SP), la ideología política (IP) y el interés político (InP). Para ello, se recurre a una operacionalización más compleja que la mera consideración del tiempo de exposición ante contenidos noticiosos, entendiendo al consumo como un conjunto articulado de hábitos intersubjetivos. Evaluando entonces la dimensión ideológica de estas prácticas junto a las características del procesamiento cognitivo de las audiencias, se realizó una encuesta a ciudadanos de Córdoba (Argentina) mayores de 16 años. Por un lado, se encontró que la mayoría recurre a algún medio informativo tradicional, en el marco de una importante tendencia hacia la diversidad ideológica de fuentes. Por otro, se demostró la asociación entre InP y consumo informativo, así como con variables que evalúan la dimensión ideológica. En cuanto a la SP, si bien no se ha demostrado correlación con el consumo informativo de fuentes no mediáticas o mediáticas no tradicionales, se observa un mayor nivel de SP - Integración conceptual entre quienes priorizan conversaciones o redes sociales. Asimismo, se advierte más probable la presencia de diferenciación conceptual entre quienes prefieren medios tradicionales y quienes evidencian una dieta informativa variada.

Different proxies for activity are used in the field of acoustic telemetry, a leading technology for the study of behaviour in the aquatic environment. Acoustic telemetry poses some shortcomings that may condition data interpretation. Here, we assessed some approaches commonly used to infer activity from acoustic telemetry data using acceleration biologgers as a benchmark. Specifically, we assessed (1) the performance of internal acceleration transmitters, (2) the consequences of averaging acceleration data into increasing time bins, (3) the occurrence of sampling bias in telemetry data acquisition, and (4) the performance of the number of detections and the depth range as proxies for activity. Despite some constraints of acoustic telemetry, acceleration transmitters had a good performance. Conversely, the number of detections and the depth range did not match well the activity estimates provided by acceleration biologgers. Besides, our results pointed to some issues in models concerning the predictive power of acceleration transmitters (linear predictor) over acceleration biologgers, warned about potential sampling bias associated with data acquisition with acoustic telemetry, and highlighted the relevance of considering inter-individual differences in behavioural studies. Finally, we provided some methodological perspectives that should be considered to plan fieldwork, analyse data, and interpret results on animal activity obtained with acoustic telemetry. Although follicular lymphoma (FL) patients relapsing within 24 months after first-line treatment (POD24) have a poor prognosis, some cases show notable survival after first relapse (SF1R). We aimed to characterize the POD24 FL population and to identify the main prognostic factors at progression. We selected 162 POD24 patients (80F; median age at first relapse 59 years) from a cohort of 1067 grades 1-3a FL-treated patients. The remaining 905 patients treated with first-line immunochemotherapy and diagnosed during the same period were used to compare outcomes in terms of survival. After a median follow-up of 11.0 years, 96 patients died (10y-SF1R of 40%). Age over 60 years (p 0.001), high lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) (p 0.001), haemoglobin (Hb) less than 120 g/L (p 0.001), advanced stage (p 0.001), high-risk Follicular Lymphoma International Prognostic Index (FLIPI) (p 0.001), histological transformation (HT) (p0.001) and reaching less than complete response (CR) after salvage therapy (p 0.001), predicted poor SF1R at relapse. In multivariate analysis only high-risk FLIPI and HT maintained prognostic significance for SF1R. POD24 patients not transformed and with low/intermediate FLIPI at relapse behaved better than the remaining cases. POD24 patients showed an excess mortality of 38% compared to the general population. Although outcome of POD24 FL patients is poor, a considerable group of them (low/intermediate FLIPI and not transformed at first relapse) behave better.

Forced respirations reportedly have an effect on CSF movement in the spinal canal. We studied respiratory-related CSF motion during normal respiration.Six healthy subjects breathed at their normal rate with a visual guide to ensure an unchanging rhythm. Respiratory-gated phase-contrast MR flow images were acquired at 5 selected axial planes along the spine. At each spinal level, we computed the flow rate voxelwise in the spinal canal, together with the associated stroke volume. From these data, we computed the periodic volume changes of spinal segments. A phantom was used to quantify the effect of respiration-related magnetic susceptibility changes on the velocity data measured.At each level, CSF moved cephalad during inhalation and caudad during expiration. While the general pattern of fluid movement was the same in the 6 subjects, the flow rates, stroke volumes, and spine segment volume changes varied among subjects. Peak flow rates ranged from 0.60 to 1.59 mL/s in the cervical region, 0.46 to 3.17 mL/s in the thoracic region, and 0.75 to 3.64 mL/s in the lumbar region. The differences in flow rates along the canal yielded cyclic volume variations of spine segments that were largest in the lumbar spine, ranging from 0.76 to 3.07 mL among subjects. In the phantom study, flow velocities oscillated periodically during the respiratory cycle by up to 0.02 cm/s or 0.5%.Respiratory-gated measurements of the CSF motion in the spinal canal showed cyclic oscillatory movements of spinal fluid correlated to the breathing pattern.

Resumen Objetivos Evaluar los resultados de la prostatectomia radical asistida por robot (PRAR), y compararlos con los de la cirugia abierta (PRA) y laparoscopica (PRL). El interes no solo radica en los resultados oncologicos y funcionales de la serie, sino en la evaluacion de la calidad de vida (QoL), la recuperacion postoperatoria y la satisfaccion personal de los pacientes con la intervencion (PR), fundamentalmente. Metodos Se realizaron 685 PR en nuestro centro entre 2011-2018 (17,8% PRA, 22,2% PRL y 60% PRAR). Los pacientes fueron evaluados prospectivamente mediante seguimiento hasta abril de 2020, y con la realizacion un cuestionario multiple a los 12 meses post-PR, que incluia ICIQ-SF, SHIM, IPSS, IQL y preguntas sobre el dolor, la recuperacion postoperatoria y la satisfaccion del paciente (SP). Tambien se recogieron datos basales y postoperatorios relacionados con el paciente y el tratamiento, y se realizaron regresiones logisticas binomiales para las comparaciones 1 vs. 1 (PRA vs. PRAR y PRL vs. PRAR). Resultados Los pacientes tratados con PRAR tienen en general menos comorbilidades, menos agresividad tumoral, un requerimiento de mayor tiempo operatorio y un numero mayor de margenes quirurgicos positivos que los pacientes tratados con PRA y PRL. Sin embargo, la PRAR supera a la PRA en: dias de estancia hospitalaria (OR: 0,86; IC 95%: 0,80-0,94), disminucion de hemoglobina (OR: 0,38; IC 95%: 0,30-0,47), tasas de transfusion (OR: 0,18; IC 95%: 0,09-0,34), complicaciones tempranas (p = 0,001), IQL (OR: 0,82; IC 95%: 0,69-0,98), funcion erectil (OR: 0,41; IC 95%: 0,21-0,79), manejo del dolor (OR: 0,82; IC 95%: 0,75-0,89), recuperacion postoperatoria (p Conclusiones Los hallazgos de nuestro estudio respaldan la efectividad de la PRAR sobre la PRL y/o la PRA de manera global, tanto en factores funcionales, como en la recuperacion postoperatoria, la QoL y la PS. To evaluate the outcomes of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) compared to those of open (ORP) and laparoscopic (LRP) surgery. The interest lies fundamentally in the quality-of-life (QoL) evaluation, postoperative recovery, and personal satisfaction of patients with the intervention (PS) beyond oncological and functional outcomes.Six hundred eighty-five RPs were performed in our center between 2011-2018 (17,8% ORP, 22,2% LRP and 60% RARP). Patients were prospectively assessed through follow-up until April 2020 and a multiple questionnaire at 12-months post-RP that included ICIQ-SF, SHIM, IPSS, IQL and questions about pain, postoperative recovery and PS. Also baseline and postoperative patient- and treatment-related data were collected, and binomial logistic regressions were performed for the 1 vs.1 comparisons (ORP vs. RARP and LRP vs. RARP).RARP patients have overall fewer comorbidities, less tumor aggressiveness, more operative time requirements and more positive surgical margins than ORP and LRP patients. Nevertheless, RARP outperforms ORP in: hospital stay (days) (OR 0,86; 95% CI: 0,80-0,94), hemoglobin loss (OR 0,38; 95% CI: 0,30-0,47), transfusion rate (OR 0,18; 95% CI: 0,09-0,34), early complications (p = 0,001), IQL (OR 0,82; 95% CI: 0,69-0,98), erectile function (OR 0,41; 95% CI: 0,21-0,79), pain control (OR 0,82; 95% CI: 0,75-0,89), postoperative recovery (p 0,001) and choice of a different approach (OR 5,55; 95% CI: 3,14-9,80). RARP is superior to LRP in: urinary continence (OR 0,55; 95% CI: 0,37-0,82), IPSS (OR 0,96; 95% CI: 0,93-0,98), IQL (OR 0,76; 95% CI: 0,66-0,88), erectile function (OR 0,52; 95% CI: 0,29-0,93), postoperative recovery (p = 0,02 and 0,004), PS (p = 0,005; 0,002; and 0,03) and choice of a different approach (OR 7,79; 95% CI: 4,63-13,13).The findings of our study globally endorse a positive effectiveness of RARP over ORP and/or LRP, both on functional issues, postoperative recovery, QoL and PS. Oncologic results should still be improved.

Fruit morphology and dehiscence-related genes were analyzed in dehiscent N4P and dehiscent P12 Bixa orellana accessions. Fruit architecture (exocarp and pericarp cells, trichomes, vascular bundles, vesicles, and bixin cells) documented by Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) morphology, blue toluidine stain, and phloroglucinol and hydrochloric acid (PHCL) stain was similar in both accessions. Although, the dehiscent zone (DZ) was higher in the indehiscent P12 B. orellana accession, lignification values, obtained by phloroglucinol and hydrochloric acid stain, within the DZ remain was similar in both variants being lower at 34 days after floral anthesis in the dehiscent N4P B. orellana accession. Dehiscence-related genes APETALA (AP2), SHATTERPROOF (SHP), and SPATULA (SPT) were identified on the reported B. orellana transcriptome (SRX1117606). Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction primers build by using these genes allow observing a differential expression during six fruit development stages. In both B. orellana accessions, the AP2 transcripts have a reduced expression, whereas the SHP transcripts were significantly higher during the first two days and ten days of development. SPT transcripts show an expression differential between both accessions being significantly higher in the dehiscent N4P, peaking with 9.66% at 42 days after floral anthesis (DAFA) of development. SPT transcription profile suggested that this gene has an important role during the fruit opening in the dehiscent N4P B. orellana accession. Loss and/or mutation of the TP53 gene are associated with short survival in multiple myeloma, but the p53 landscape goes far beyond. At least 12 p53 protein isoforms have been identified as a result of a combination of alternative splicing, alternative promoters and/or alternative transcription site starts, which are grouped as α, β, γ, from transactivation domain (TA), long, and short isoforms. Nowadays, there are no studies evaluating the expression of p53 isoforms and its clinical relevance in multiple myeloma (MM). We used capillary nanoimmunoassay to quantify the expression of p53 protein isoforms in CD138-purified samples from 156 patients with newly diagnosed MM who were treated as part of the PETHEMA/GEM2012 clinical trial and investigated their prognostic impact. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was used to corroborate the results at RNA levels. Low and high levels of expression of short and TAp53β/γ isoforms, respectively, were associated with adverse prognosis in MM patients. Purpose: PIM kinases are a family of serine/threonine kinases recently proposed as therapeutic targets in oncology. In the present work, we have investigated the effects of the novel pan-PIM kinase inhibitor, PIM447, on myeloma cells and myeloma-associated bone disease using different preclinical models.Experimental Design: In vitro/ex vivo cytotoxicity of PIM447 was evaluated on myeloma cell lines and patient samples. Synergistic combinations with standard treatments were analyzed with Calcusyn Software. PIM447 effects on bone cells were assessed on osteogenic and osteoclastogenic cultures. The mechanisms of PIM447 were explored by immunoblotting, qPCR, and immunofluorescence. A murine model of disseminated multiple myeloma was employed for in vivo studies.Results: PIM447 is cytotoxic for myeloma cells due to cell-cycle disruption and induction of apoptosis mediated by a decrease in phospho-Bad (Ser112) and c-Myc levels and the inhibition of mTORC1 pathway. Importantly, PIM447 demonstrates a very strong synergy with different standard treatments such as bortezomib + dexamethasone (combination index, CI = 0.002), lenalidomide + dexamethasone (CI = 0.065), and pomalidomide + dexamethasone (CI = 0.077). PIM447 also inhibits in vitro osteoclast formation and resorption, downregulates key molecules involved in these processes, and partially disrupts the F-actin ring, while increasing osteoblast activity and mineralization. Finally, PIM447 significantly reduced the tumor burden and prevented tumor-associated bone loss in a disseminated murine model of human myeloma.Conclusions: Our results demonstrate dual antitumoral and bone-protective effects of PIM447. This fact, together with the very strong synergy exhibited with standard-of-care treatments, supports the future clinical development of this drug in multiple myeloma. Purpose: The search for new drugs that control the continuous relapses of multiple myeloma is still required. Here, we report for the first time the potent antimyeloma activity of amiloride, an old potassium-sparing diuretic approved for the treatment of hypertension and edema due to heart failure.Experimental Design: Myeloma cell lines and primary samples were used to evaluate cytotoxicity of amiloride. In vivo studies were carried out in a xenograft mouse model. The mechanisms of action were investigated using RNA-Seq experiments, qRT-PCR, immunoblotting, and immunofluorescence assays.Results: Amiloride-induced apoptosis was observed in a broad panel of multiple myeloma cell lines and in a xenograft mouse model. Moreover, amiloride also had a synergistic effect when combined with dexamethasone, melphalan, lenalidomide, and pomalidomide. RNA-Seq experiments showed that amiloride not only significantly altered the level of transcript isoforms and alternative splicing events, but also deregulated the spliceosomal machinery. In addition, disruption of the splicing machinery in immunofluorescence studies was associated with the inhibition of myeloma cell viability after amiloride exposure. Although amiloride was able to induce apoptosis in myeloma cells lacking p53 expression, activation of p53 signaling was observed in wild-type and mutated TP53 cells after amiloride exposure. On the other hand, we did not find a significant systemic toxicity in mice treated with amiloride.Conclusions: Overall, our results demonstrate the antimyeloma activity of amiloride and provide a mechanistic rationale for its use as an alternative treatment option for relapsed multiple myeloma patients, especially those with 17p deletion or TP53 mutations that are resistant to current therapies. Purpose: Dysregulation of one of the three D-cyclin genes has been observed in virtually all multiple myeloma tumors. The mechanisms by which CCND2 is upregulated in a set of multiple myeloma are not completely deciphered. We investigated the role of post-transcriptional regulation through the interaction between miRNAs and their binding sites at 3′UTR in CCND2 overexpression in multiple myeloma.Experimental Design: Eleven myeloma cell lines and 45 primary myeloma samples were included in the study. Interactions between miRNAs deregulated in multiple myeloma and mRNA targets were analyzed by 3′UTR-luciferase plasmid assay. The presence of CCND2 mRNA isoforms different in length was explored using qRT-PCR, Northern blot, mRNA FISH, and 3′ rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE)-PCR.Results: We detected the presence of short CCND2 mRNA, both in the multiple myeloma cell lines and primary cells. The results obtained by 3′RACE experiments revealed that changes in CCND2 3′UTR length are explained by alternative polyadenylation. The luciferase assays using plasmids harboring the truncated CCND2 mRNA strongly confirmed the loss of miRNA sites in the shorter CCND2 mRNA isoform. Those multiple myelomas with greater abundance of the shorter 3′UTR isoform were associated with significant higher level of total CCND2 mRNA expression. Furthermore, functional analysis showed significant CCND2 mRNA shortening after CCND1 silencing and an increased relative expression of longer isoform after CCND1 and CCND3 overexpression, suggesting that cyclin D1 and D3 could regulate CCND2 levels through modifications in polyadenylation-cleavage reaction.Conclusions: Overall, these results highlight the impact of CCND2 3′UTR shortening on miRNA-dependent regulation of CCND2 in multiple myeloma. Purpose: Genetic aberrations detected in multiple myeloma (MM) have also been reported in the premalignant conditions monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) and smoldering MM (SMM). Our aim was to investigate in depth the level of clonal heterogeneity of recurrent genetic abnormalities in these conditions.Experimental Design: Immunoglobulin heavy chain (IGH) translocations, 13q14 and 17p13 deletions, and 1q21 gains using FISH were evaluated in 90 MGUS, 102 high-risk SMM, and 373 MM. To this end, we not only purified plasma cells (PC) for the FISH analysis (purity > 90%), but subsequently, we examined the correlation between the proportion of PC with cytogenetic changes and the number of clonal PC present in the same sample, as measured by multiparametric flow cytometry.Results: We observed a significant difference between the proportion of clonal PC with specific genetic abnormalities in MGUS compared with SMM and in SMM compared with MM. Thus, the median proportion of PC with IGH translocations globally considered, t(11;14) and 13q deletions was significantly lower in MGUS than in SMM, and in SMM than in MM [IGH translocations: 34% vs. 57% vs. 76%; t(11;14): 38% vs. 61% vs. 81%; and 13q deletion: 37% vs. 61% vs. 74% in MGUS, SMM, and MM, respectively]. For t(4;14), the difference was significant in the comparison between MGUS/SMM and MM and for 1q between MGUS and SMM/MM.Conclusions: This study demonstrates that the progression from MGUS to SMM, and eventually to MM, involves a clonal expansion of genetically abnormal PC. Multiple myeloma (MM) patients with t(11;14) present unique biological features and their prognosis is not well established. We report a retrospective study of 591 MM patients, 17.3% of whom had t(11;14). It was designed to determine the prognostic impact of this abnormality and the effect of novel agents on the response and outcomes. Three groups were established based on their cytogenetics: (1) t(11;14); (2) high-risk chromosomal abnormalities; and (3) standard risk (SR). After 80.1 months (1.2–273.8 months) of follow-up, no differences were observed in overall survival (OS) between the t(11;14) and SR groups (75.8 vs. 87.2 months; P = 0.438). Treatment of MM t(11;14) with novel agents did not improve their overall response rate (ORR) or complete response (CR) compared with those who received conventional therapy (ORR: 87.2 vs. 79.5%, P = 0.336; CR: 23.4 vs. 12.8%, P = 0.215). This effect translated into a similar PFS (39.6 vs. 30.0 months; P = 0.450) and OS (107.6 vs. 75.7 months; P = 0.175). In summary, MM t(11;14) patients did not benefit from the introduction of novel agents as much as SR patients did, indicating that other therapies are needed to improve their outcomes.

Para citación consultar la revista Technology, Knowledge and Learning., Knowledge Building (KB) is an educatioanl theory framework that shows interest in the benefits that the technology offers to teaching and evaluation. In this study, a dashboard that facilitates the reflective assessment of KB communities supported by the Knowlege Forum (KF) platform was evaluated. The deisgn-based research study was conducted with 128 undergraduate students enrolled in an educational research course at the University of (name, country). Using a survey methodology, data was collected on the students' perception regarding epistemic collective agency, research skills, and dashboard assessment. The conclusions about the value of the dashboard are broken down into two axes. On the one hand, the students state that they are satisfied with the dashboard, although they indicate that there is room for improvement. On the other hand, according to the KB reflective assessment, the dahsboard provided students with educational experiences that have empowered them in the collaborative construction of knowledge and promoted the development of their specific educational research skills. Power generation using renewable technologies has become a primordial option to satisfy the energy demand all over the world, being solar concentrating technologies widely applied for this purpose. A combination of Parabolic Trough Collector with Direct Steam Generation has been considered an excellent option for power generation, due to the economic cost and complexity in the plant are reduced. The thermal evaluation of the solar power plant as well as the PTC in the DSG process is very important in viability and economic analysis. In this sense, as the main objective of this work, a numerical tool for evaluating DSG with PTC technology has been developed. The software SOLEEC is a versatile, reliable, accurate and friendly to the user for thermally evaluating a DSG with PTC technology. The user has the possibility to compare the thermal behavior of different geometrical dimensions for a PTC; and even consider different materials; in order to satisfy the demand of superheated steam by a DSG process. The software has an error less than 5% when compared with literature results and in this paper is used to evaluate a power plant in Mexico obtaining that the change to DSG proposing different PTC could reduce the solar field about 35%.

Background End-stage renal failure of unknown origin (ESRD-UO) is a public health problem in Mexico and many regions of the world. The prevalence of ESRD-UO in Aguascalientes, Mexico, is one of the highest worldwide, particularly in adults between 20 and 40 years of age. Our aim was to screen adolescents for chronic kidney disease (CKD) to identify risk factors and histologically characterize adolescents with persistent albuminuria. Methods This was a cross-sectional, observational and comparative study of adolescents in whom serum creatinine and the albumin:creatinine ratio (ACR) were determined when screening for CKD. A clinical evaluation and risk factor survey were conducted. Patients with an abnormal ACR (≥30 mg/g) or a low glomerular filtration rate (GFR) (≤75 mL/min/1.73 m2) were re-evaluated and a renal ultrasound (US) was obtained. A kidney biopsy was performed in patients with persistent albuminuria. Results A total of 513 students were included; 19 had persistent albuminuria and 494 were controls. The prevalence of persistent albuminuria was 3.7% [95% confidence interval (CI) 2.1–5.3]. Only one patient had a decreased GFR. None of the patients with persistent albuminuria had anatomical abnormalities of the urinary tract by renal US. Patients with persistent albuminuria had a decreased total renal volume compared with the control group (150 versus 195 mL/m2; P Conclusions The prevalence of persistent albuminuria in adolescents in Aguascalientes is high and histologic compromise is characterized by podocyte injury in the absence of fibrosis. The renal volume of persistent albuminuria patients was decreased, suggesting oligonephronia. Exposure to environmental toxins such as pesticides, even prenatally, may be responsible for this pathological entity. Screening programs in adolescents by determining ACR are necessary in this setting.

These tumors arise from Schwann cells, and may originate from any peripheral, cranial, or autonomic nerve. Most of them are localized and sporadic but multifocal systemic forms can occur. Cervical sympathetic chain, brachial plexus, cervical plexus and spinal roots and nerves are the major nerve systems commonly affected. Dumbbell-shaped intra- and extradural tumors occur most commonly in the cervical spine, as well as purely extradural and paravertebral tumors. The management of these tumors has improved greatly owing to the developments in imaging techniques and surgical innovations such as endoscopically assisted approaches and robotic surgery. Microsurgical intracapsular excision of the tumor helped by the use of intraoperative fluorescent dyes and intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring minimize postoperative neural deficit, since most schwannomas are encapsulated. Most tumors can be removed with a low rate of complications and recurrence. Radiotherapy should be considered for growing lesions that are not amenable to surgery. In asymptomatic patients, observation and serial scans is an option for elderly infirm patients.
