The current systematic review will synthesize the available research that compares decision-making between tactical and patrol officers to determine the extent to which SWAT training mutates officer decision-making towards a reliance on the use of force. This synthesis of the current literature will help provide an initial understanding of the implications of tactical team training on officer decision-making, as to our knowledge there are currently no systematic reviews examining the relationship between officer training (i.e., patrol vs tactical officer) and officer decision-making regarding the use of force.
