Adolescence is a critical life period during which significant neurodevelopmental changes occur within the central nervous system. Consistently, substance abuse in this stage has been found to induce persistent changes in brain responsiveness to future drug challenges. Nowadays, heavy episodic alcohol consumption during adolescence, also known as binge-drinking behavior, is a growing concern in modern societies. On the other hand, alcohol is well known to act as a gateway drug, that is, it promotes the individual's craving for consumption of other drugs of abuse. With this in mind, we aimed to assess whether adolescent ethanol exposure could alter the development of tolerance and dependence to morphine, as an available common opioid drug. Tail flick test was used to measure thermal nociceptive changes in adult male Wistar rats undergone ethanol/vehicle exposure during adolescence. Furthermore, morphine withdrawal syndrome was induced by naloxone injection, and behavioral signs were recorded for 20 min. It was found that adolescent ethanol intake facilitates morphine analgesic tolerance and decreases baseline latency; however, the severity of dependence is not significantly altered. Moreover, we found that 15 days of treatment with omega-3 fatty acids (O3) prevents the mentioned ethanol-induced changes suggesting a therapeutic potential for this compound. O3 supplementation, as an inexpensive and noninvasive method, may assist the clinicians to reverse the adverse effect of alcohol binge drinking on adolescents' brains and to reduce the vulnerability to drug exposure in adulthood. In the present study, an integrated multi-objective simulation -optimization model was developed using a NSGA-II optimization algorithm and GMS simulation software with the aim of sustainable harvesting from the Varamin aquifer. For this purpose, the quantitative model of the aquifer was simulated. Based on the calibrated model and integrated with the optimization algorithm, a two-objective management model was developed to control the exponential drop in the groundwater level and ensure sustainable harvesting from the wells. Then, according to multi-criteria decision-making methods and the Borda aggregation method, the optimal harvesting scenario of wells in operation was analyzed. The results show that more than 69% of the wells in the study area have experienced a rise of up to 30 m in the groundwater level during a 1-year period. It indicates the relative improvement of the aquifer in the direction of restoring its saturated thickness. Also, the comparison of the results obtained from the optimal and existing conditions showed that by applying the proposed model, an average of 46.9% can be saved in the harvesting of groundwater resources. For this purpose, it is necessary to reduce the allowed amount of harvesting from wells in this area from 21 to 11 L/s.

In recent years, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for image and video-based crime detection has gained significant attention from law enforcement agencies and security experts. Indeed, deep learning (DL) models can learn complex patterns from data and help law enforcement agencies save time and resources by automatically identifying and tracking potential criminals. This contributes to make deep investigations and better steer their targets’ searches. Among others, handheld firearms and bladed weapons are the most frequent objects encountered at crime scenes. In this paper, we propose a DL-based surveillance system that can detect the presence of tracked objects, such as handheld firearms and bladed weapons, as well as may proceed to alert authorities regarding eventual threats before an incident occurs. After making a comparison of different DL-based object detection techniques, such as you only look once (YOLO), single shot multibox detector (SSD), or faster region-based convolutional neural networks (R-CNN), YOLO achieves the optimal balance of mean average precision (mAP) and inference speed for real-time prediction. In this study using the reel method, where the sliding rail can rotate 1800. The cutting force that occurs is 61.6 N with a cutting speed of 324 m/s on yaku mahogany cutting media with an allowable bending of 10.4 kg/mm2. The recommended shaft diameter is based on a calculation of 5.7 mm, the shaft diameter used is 12 mm, with a fatigue safety factor value. and the allowable bending stress is 122.6 N/mm2, while the shear stress at the weld section is 1.33 N/mm2. This study aims to analyze the orientation strategy of the Surabaya city manufacturing industry. The method usedin this research is descriptive qualitative method. Currently the manufacturing industry in Surabaya continues to experience increased productivity and business expansion after experiencing a decline due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This increase is inseparable from the increasing demand for an increasingly varied market, which has become a driving force for business players to grow and meet market needs. This is what is used in the manufacturing industry, namely market orientation, which includes customer orientation, competitor orientation, coordination between functions, and technology orientation. When a company is market oriented, it shows that the company pays attention to its consumers. Market orientation can be seen from customer orientation and competitor orientation. Customer orientation by researchers is placed as the highest priority in terms of providing superior values to customers.

Penelitian ini focus pada pengetahuan konsumen sejauhna implikasinya terhadap ragam keputusan nasabah terhadap pembiayaan murābahah di K-BMT Bina Keluarga Mandiri Cileunyi Kabupaten Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan studi Pustaka dengan metode deskriptif kuantitatif, yaitu suatu bentuk penelitian berbasis data yang dikumpulkan secara sistematis mengenai fakta dan sifat dari objek yang diteliti. Penentuan ini dirancang untuk menentukan besarnya implikasi variabel X independen (pengetahuan konsumen) dan variabel Y dependen (keputusan nasabah). Hasil penelitian, menunjukan bahwa kecenderungan rata-rata skor total pengetahuan konsumen sebesar 78,43% kategori dan kecenderungan memutuskan menjadi nasabah pembiayaan murābahah yaitu 70,25%, keduanya kategori kuat dari skor ideal, berarti skor total pengetahuan konsumen termasuk dalam kategori kuat atau baik dipandang dari kriteria ideal. This determination is designed to determine the magnitude of the implications of independent X variables (consumer knowledge) and dependent Y variables (customer decisions). The results showed that the average trend of total consumer knowledge score of 78.43% category and the tendency to decide to become a murābahah financing customer is 70.25%, both Strong categories of ideal scores, meaning that the total score of consumer knowledge falls into the category of strong or well viewed from ideal criteria.

Smoking and the harmful compound in smoke has been associated with many deleterious effects on the eye. Yet, the ocular and visual-related complaints that may arise due to physiological changes are inadequately explored. This study aimed to investigate the effect of smoking behaviour on ocular symptoms. A self-administered questionnaire describing the ocular surface discomfort and visual-related activities was distributed to healthy smokers. Majority of smokers reported severe dry eye symptoms and often complained of glare disability. Educating healthy lifestyle behaviors through game can help children and adolescents achieve healthy habits. The aim of the present study was to develop a game to promote children’s and adolescents’ lifestyle behaviors. The “Toward Health” is a board game designed by a multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, nutritionists, physical activity experts, pediatricians, pediatric psychologists, graphic artists, and experts in designing board games to help children adopt healthy eating and sleep habits and become physically more active. Players move their tokens based on the number of squares indicated by a dice rolled. If a player’s token lands on the square containing questions or points related to a healthy lifestyle, he/she must answer the question or read the point loudly. If answers to the questions are correct, the player takes the card. Interventional studies are recommended to confirm the potential of these games in preventing and/or treating childhood obesity. In the future, we are going to assess the validity and acceptance of the game in various age groups.

The Tehran cardiometabolic genetic study (TCGS) is a large population-based cohort study that conducts periodic follow-ups. TCGS has created a comprehensive database comprising 20,367 participants born between 1911 and 2015 selected from four main ongoing studies in a family-based longitudinal framework. The study's primary goal is to identify the potential targets for prevention and intervention for non-communicable diseases that may develop in mid-life and late life. TCGS cohort focuses on cardiovascular, endocrine, metabolic abnormalities, cancers, and some inherited diseases. Since 2017, the TCGS cohort has augmented by encoding all health-related complications, including hospitalization outcomes and self-reports according to ICD11 coding, and verifying consanguineous marriage using genetic markers. This research provides an update on the rationale and design of the study, summarizes its findings, and outlines the objectives for precision medicine.

Consumer-grade insert earphones (IEs) can be utilised for audiometry, but their calibration values and threshold reliability may differ from the audiometric IE. This study measured the equivalent threshold sound pressure levels (ETSPLs), and the test-retest threshold variation when a consumer IE (Sennheiser CX100) was fitted with: (1) silicone stock ear tips that came along with the earphone, (2) replacement foam ear tips (KZ acoustics) and (3) silicone otoacoustic emission (OAE) probe ear tips. Study 1 determined ETSPL values in 25 normal-hearing subjects aged 18–25 years at seven test frequencies (500–8000 Hz). Study 2 assessed the intra- and inter-session test-retest threshold reliability in a separate group of 50 adult subjects. The ETSPL values for the consumer IE deviated from the reference values for audiometric IEs, with the largest differences (7–9 dB) observed at 500 Hz across ear tips. This is likely related to shallow tip insertions. However, test-retest threshold variations were comparable to those reported for audiometric transducers. Ear tip-specific corrections to the reference thresholds in the standards are required for calibration of consumer IEs used in low-cost audiometry when their ear tips only allow superficial insertion into the ear canal.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas bimbingan kelompok dalam mengurangi kecemasan berkomunikasi di depan umum pada siswa. Ini adalah penelitian pre eksperimental design dengan jenis One-Group Pretest- Posttest Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu keseluruhan siswa kelas dengan siswa yang berjumlah 104 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik yakni purposive sampling. Dalam penelitian ini sampel yang diambil adalah siswa yang mempunyai kecemasan berkomunikasi didepan umum, siswa kelas VII SMPN 2 Kecamatan Siantar sebanyak 10% dari populasi yaitu sebanyak 10 siswa kelas VII SMPN 2 Kecamatan Siantar. Analisis data adalah mengelompokkan data berdasarkan variabel dan jenis responden, menstabulasi data berdasarkan variabel dari seluruh responden, dengan menggunakan rumus Wilcoxon Signed Ranks. Temuan mengungkapkan penurunan kecemasan berkomunikasi dalam kategori tinggi. Temuan dari layanan bimbingan kelompok secara efektif untuk mengurangi kecemasan berkomunikasi di depan umum pada siswa. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini yaitu layanan bimbingan kelompok efektif dalam mengurangi kecemasan berkomunikasi di depan umum pada siswa.

Lambatnya respon Indonesia sebagai negera berkembang dalam mengambil peran di masa depan dunia melalui penyiapan kampung ramah anak merupakan tantangan bagi bangsa Indonesia. Program Kampung Ramah Anak ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan sebagai wadah anak dalam menyampaikan aspirasi mereka. Anak-anak juga diajarkan berbagai pesan moral melalui kegiatan dongeng anak. Selain itu anak-anak juga diajarkan untuk meningkatkan kreativitas mereka melalui kegiatan mewarnai dan melukis di pot, serta kegiatan seperti ular tangga edukasi yang melatih pengetahuan anak. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di beberapa dusun di Desa Gunungpring berupa “Festival Kampung Ramah Anak” dengan tema “Anak berhak bersuara untuk menyampaikan aspirasi mereka”. Dalam kegiatan ini juga terdapat Kongres Anak di mana anak akan menyampaikan aspirasi mereka melalui cap tangan. Partisipasi dan antusiasme anak-anak dalam mengikuti kegiatan ini sangat baik. Dampak dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan anak, meningkatkan kreativitas anak, dan melatih anak untuk berinteraksi sosial dengan teman-teman sebayanya. Kegiatan Kampung Ramah Anak ini sangat bermanfaat bagi anak-anak dan diharapkan dapat berkelanjutan dan dilaksanakan secara merata dan berkala di Desa Gunungpring Kecamatan Muntilan Kabupaten Magelang Jawa Tengah untuk ke depannya.

The best teacher is a teacher who is given appreciation because he has a high achievement value. There are several specific criteria in selecting the best teacher, namely in terms of achievement, skills possessed, morals/manners, and discipline. To improve quality in the world of education, of course, a teacher is needed who will interact directly with students in the learning process which can indirectly improve the quality of education. With the interaction in the learning process, it is hoped that it will become a resource in improving the quality of education. There is also something the government is doing that is in a way to advance education, namely by empowering teachers and giving an award, especially for those who are entitled to get the title of the best teacher with achievements. Based on the results of interviews and research related to SMK Negeri 2 Medan, in determining the best teacher the assessment is still in a subjective way. This is based only on the opinion of each teacher and does not start with certain criteria, this will affect social events because the method used is not in an objective way and ends in an unfair feeling caused by subjective methods among fellow teachers who teach at the school. Therefore, it is recommended that schools must determine and agree on certain criteria in determining outstanding teachers, even though the assessment in the final process is still carried out by voting from those who have voting rights in determining the outstanding/best teachers, which of course is also carried out by teachers. The system for determining the best teacher is always a problem every year because it can create injustice among fellow teachers. Therefore, to facilitate and eliminate this unfair attitude, a decision support system (SPK) is needed which can facilitate the determination of the best teacher at SMK Negeri 2 Medan. A decision support system is an interactive computer system that can assist decision making by utilizing existing data to solve unstructured and semi-structured problems. In this SPK there are several methods, one of which is the Moosra Method (Multiobjective Optimization on the Basis of Simple Ratio Analysis) and the ROC (Rank Order Centroid) Method. The result of ROC and MOOSRA method calculation showed that Halimah (A10) obtained the highest final preference value of 14.599, making her selected as the best teacher.

Objectives: The rate of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) booster vaccination in Indonesia remains relatively low, representing 15.33% of the overall vaccination target as of April 2022. The implementation of a reminder and recall system has been shown to be effective in increasing vaccination rates. In prior research, reminders and recalls were sent through traditional media, such as mail, and had not yet been integrated into modern media, such as smartphone applications and (in particular) contact tracing applications. Therefore, the present study was conducted to design a reminder and recall system for the PeduliLindungi contact tracing application. Methods: We used the design science research (DSR) methodology with three iterations. The first iteration produced a low-fidelity prototype (or wireframe), and the next yielded a high-fidelity (clickable) prototype. Results: The final prototype included three main features: a reminder and recall mechanism, online registration for COVID-19 booster vaccination, and educational articles. The evaluation consisted of interviews in the first iteration, interviews and the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire in the second, and the Post-Study System Usability Questionnaire (PSSUQ) in the third. The SUS value obtained in the second iteration was 71.6, indicating good (acceptable) results, while in the third iteration, the system usefulness, information quality, interface quality, and overall PSSUQ values were 2.456, 2.473, 2.230, and 2.397, respectively, indicating good quality of the resulting design. Conclusions: This research contributes to two areas: implementation of a reminder and recall system in the PeduliLindungi contact tracing application and enhancement of contact tracing applications using DSR methodology.

Introduction. Resistance to common antimalarial drugs and persistence of the endemicity of malaria constitute a major public health problem in Cameroon. The aim of this study was to evaluate the in vitro antiplasmodial, antioxidant, and cytotoxic activities of aqueous and ethanol extracts of Bridelia micrantha used by Cameroonian traditional healers for the treatment of malaria. Methods. Aqueous and ethanolic stem bark extracts were prepared according to standard procedures. The SYBR Green method was used for antiplasmodial activity on strains of Plasmodium falciparum sensitive to chloroquine (3D7) and resistant (Dd2). In vitro antioxidant activities of B. micrantha were determined using the scavenging activity of 2,2 ′ -diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, nitric oxide, ferric reducing power, and hydrogen peroxide as well as their cytotoxicity on RAW 264.7 macrophage cells and red blood cells (RBC). Results. The aqueous and ethanol extracts of Bridelia micrantha showed antiplasmodial activity on the 3D7 strain with I C 50 of 31.65 ± 0.79 μg/ml and 19.41 ± 2.93 μg/ml, respectively, as well as 37.64 ± 0.77 μg/ml and 36.22 ± 1.04 μg/ml for the Dd2 strain, respectively. The aqueous and ethanol extracts showed free radical scavenging properties. The IC 50 aqueous and ethanol extract was approximately 0.0001737 μg/ml, 42.92 μg/ml, 1197 μg/ml, 63.78 μg/ml and 4.617 μg/ml, 429.9 μg/ml, 511 μg/ml, and 69.32 μg/ml for DPPH, NO, H2O2, and FRAP, respectively, which were compared to ascorbic acid ( 8.610 e − 005 μg/ml, 2901 μg/ml, 3237 μg/ml, and 18.57 μg/ml). The aqueous and ethanol extracts of B. micrantha were found to be nontoxic with CC 50 values of 950 ± 6.6 μg/ml and 308.3 ± 45.4 μg/ml, respectively. Haemolysis test showed that the two extracts were not toxic. Conclusion. These results suggest that B. micrantha can serve as an antimalarial agent. However, further studies are needed to validate the use of B. micrantha as an antimalarial.

Background: Exhaustive Aerobic Exercise (EAE) increases the production of free radicals and oxidative stress in the body. One of the most effective approaches to reduce EAE-induced oxidative stress is antioxidant supplementation. Objectives: Therefore, the present study investigated the effect of short-term Vitamin D (Vit D) supplementation on antioxidant capacity in inactive men following an EAE session. Methods: In this clinical trial, 24 non-athlete men were randomly divided into Experimental (Exp; n = 12) and Control (C; n =12) groups. Exp received 2,000 IU of Vit D daily for six weeks (42 days), while C received a lactose placebo daily with the same color, shape, and warmth percentage. The main purpose of this study is to clarify the impact of performance management in the public sector. Public sectors are the core entities in a country that play vital roles in order to provide services to the public and bring comfort to them. Therefore, it is important to understand whether public sectors can be effective for the general public or not. In order for the public sector to be effective performance management must be put in place. As Afghanistan is a country with high bureaucracy in its public sectors, therefore, there was a need for research to be conducted in the field of Performance management to find out the factors which lead to weak performance in the public sectors. The result of the study shows that some factors like favoritism, conflict of interest, and appointing inexperienced employees with irrelevant educational backgrounds to operational and managerial positions can lead to weak performance in public sectors.

Plants and plant-microbial compounds can be a viable means of remediating contaminated soils, in this review, two approaches to phytoremediation are discussed, the first approach how plants can promote the growth of degrading microorganisms in the soil rhizosphere, which can lead to enhanced degradation of chlorinated pesticides; the second approach focuses on the potential of plants to remove and accumulate metals from their environment, a unique test system, the Target Neighbor Method, is used to evaluate how plant density affects metal uptake, these studies could provide valuable information for optimizing plant density to improve metal removal and remediate metal-contaminated soils or to minimize toxic metal accumulation in crops and reduce human exposure.

SummarySpermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) are the basis of male spermatogenesis and fertility. SSCs are distinguished by their ability to self-renew and differentiate into spermatozoa throughout the male reproductive life and pass genetic information to the next generation. Immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunocytochemistry (ICC) and Fluidigm reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) were used to analyze the expression of PLZF and VASA in mice testis tissue. In this experimental study, whereas undifferentiated spermatogonial cells sharply expressed PLZF, other types of germ cells located in the seminiferous tubule were negative for this marker. Conversely, the germ cells near the basal membrane of the seminiferous tubule showed VASA expression, whereas the undifferentiated germ cells located on the basal membrane were negative. The ICC analysis indicated higher expression of PLZF in the isolated undifferentiated cells compared with differentiated germ cells. Fluidigm real-time RT-PCR results demonstrated a significant expression (P < 0.05) of VASA in the SSCs compared with differentiated cells and also showed expression of PLZF in undifferentiated spermatogonia. These results clearly proved the role of PLZF as a specific marker for SSCs, and can be beneficial for advanced research on in vitro differentiation of SSCs to functional sperms.

Background: EpCAM and VEGFR2 play an important role in angiogenesis and tumorigenesis. It is currently of paramount importance to produce new drugs that can inhibit the angiogenesis and proliferation of tumor cells. Nanobodies are potential drug candidates for cancer therapy due to their unique properties. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the combined inhibitory effect of anti-EpCAM and anti-VEGFR2 nanobodies in cancer cell lines. Methods: Inhibitory activity of anti-EpCAM and anti-VEGFR2 nanobodies on MDA-MB231, MCF7, and HUVEC cells was investigated using both in vitro (MTT, migration, and tube formation assays) and in vivo assays. Results: Results showed that the combination of anti-EpCAM and anti-VEGFR2 nanobodies efficiently inhibited proliferation, migration, and tube formation of MDA-MB-231 cells compared to each individual nanobodies (p < 0.05). In addition, the combination of anti-EpCAM and anti-VEGFR2 nanobodies efficiently inhibited tumor growth and volume of Nude mice bearing MDA-MB-231 cells (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Taken together, the results indicate the potential of combination therapy as an efficient approach to cancer therapy.

An injection attack is a cyber-attack that is one of The Open Web Application Security Project Top 10 Vulnerabilities. These attacks take advantage of insufficient user input validation into the system through the input surface of a Web application as that user in the browser. The company’s cyber security team must filter thousands of attacks to prioritize which attacks are considered the most dangerous to be mitigated first. This activity of filtering thousands of attacks takes much time because you have to check these attacks one by one. Therefore, a method is needed to assess how dangerous a cyber-attack is that enters an organization’s or company’s server. Injection attack detection can be done by analyzing the request data in the web server log. Our research attempts to perform quantification modeling of the variations of two types of injection attacks, SQL Injection (SQLi) and Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), using Common Vulnerability Scoring System Metrics (CVSS). CVSS metrics are generally used to calculate the level of dangerous weakness in the system. This metric is never used to calculate the level of how dangerous an attack is. The modeling that we have made shows that SQLi and XSS attacks have many variations in levels ranging from low to high levels. We discovered that when classified with Common Weakness Enumeration Database, SQLi and XSS attacks CVE values would have high-level congruence with almost 94% value between one another vector on CVSS.

Introduction: Community based total sanitation is a strategy for involving the community in sanitation programs that are carried out to change sustainable hygienic and sanitary behavior. The coastal area of ​​Konawe Kepulauan Regency ranks the 2nd lowest in the implementation of Community based total sanitation. The purpose of this study was to determine the cause of the low community based total sanitation pillar 1 (Stop Open Defecation) and Pillar 4 (Management of Household Waste) in the Coastal Area of ​​Konawe Islands Regency. Methods: This type of research uses qualitative research, a phenomenological approach. Informants consist of key informants as many as 5 peoples, regular informants 7 peoples and people residing in the area of ​​Langara and Lansilowo Health Center. Snowball sampling technique and data analysis using data reduction, data display and data conclusion techniques. Results: The results showed that there are still many people who have not implemented stop defecation due to lack of knowledge, housing conditions in coastal areas, lack of latrines, habituation, and the economy. The community does not dispose of waste in its place due to several factors, namely the absence of a temporary disposal site and final disposal site. Conclusion: The phenomenon that causes people not to apply community based total sanitation in the Coastal Area of Konawe Islands Regency is due to a lack of community knowledge, economic factors, lack of facilities or infrastructure and also a habitual factor so that they have not implemented Community based total sanitation on the coast of Konawe Islands Regency.
