Makale, WOS:000914155800001, This study conducted a comprehensive experimental and numerical assessment to investigate the effect of plastic circular balls placed in the middle of a section of a reinforced concrete slab on strength, ductility, thermal, and acoustic performance. The ball diameter/slab thickness (D/H), grades of concrete, and longitudinal tensile reinforcement ratio (q) in the slab were selected as the main variables. The variation in thermal and acoustic performance depending upon the ball’s diameter was investigated as well. The results showed that the slab’s load-carrying capacity, ductility, and energy dissipation capacity did not differ if the D/H ratio did not exceed 0.4; however, significant decreases in these values were observed when the D/H ratio exceeded 0.4. Moreover, the increase in the concrete and reinforcement’s strength had a negative effect on the slab with a D/H ratio of 0.8. The experimental results revealed that balled slabs are 3.15 times superior with respect to thermal conductivity and provide 1.38 times more insulation to absorb sound compared to nonballed slabs. In the numerical study of the slabs’ thermal performance, the mean surface temperature and heat flux on the slab where the heat transfer takes place decreased as the ball diameter increased. As seen in acoustic models, the level at which the slabs absorbed sound varied depending upon both the diameter of the balls and the sound frequency.

Ruxolitinib (C17H18N6) is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor that inhibits JAK1, JAK2, and JAK3 and with its tyrosine kinase inhibitor function It is the first drug approved for use in the treatment of myelofibrosis. The possible conformations of the ruxolitinib molecule were searched using PM3 technique and the Spartan06 software. The estimated molecular energies of the Ruxolitinib conformers, obtained by the variations in dihedral angles, were compared, and the most stable conformer was determined. To enlighten the inhibitory activity of Ruxolitinib agaist the apo (PDB ID: 6M03) and holo (PDB ID: 6LU7) forms of the main protease enzyme (Mpro) of COVID-19 and the SARSCoV-2 spike glycoprotein (PDB ID: 6VXX), molecular docking simulations were performed. The binding affinities and binding modes were determined. The binding free energies of ruxolitinib and 6M03, 6LU7, 6VXX targets calculated by the combination of Molecular Mechanics/Generalized Born Surface Area (MMGBSA) and Molecular Mechanics/Poisson-Boltzmann Surface Area (MM-PBSA) methods {MM/PB(GB)SA approach}, were found to be -22.24, -19.96 and -22.44 kcal/mol, respectively.

A 6-year-old boy was referred to the paediatric infectious disease clinic with a 2-month history of enlarged, erythematous, painless cervical lymph nodes. He initially presented to his paediatrician with a painless lesion. At that time, he was treated empirically with clindamycin and azithromycin due to a history of cat exposure. Despite treatment, the lesion evolved into a non-healing linear ulcer with painless, ascending cervical lymphadenopathy. Serologies were negative forBartonella henselaeantibodies. Additional laboratory studies revealed eosinophilia and negativeToxoplasma gondiiantibodies. After no improvement following a course of trimethoprim–sulfamethoxazole, further questioning revealed that the patient had fallen into a haystack 1 month before the initial cervical lesion. The patient’s parents opted to treat the infection empirically for sporotrichosis with itraconazole rather than undergo lymph node biopsy. At the 2-week follow-up, his lymphadenopathy had resolved and had returned to baseline activity.

Various teaching methods are needed to achieve the goals set in education. One of them is homework, which is one of the out-of-school learning techniques. Homework is determined in accordance with the objectives and achievements of the course in order to support the learning carried out at school. Homework prepared in this way has important effects on students, teachers and families. In this study, it was aimed to determine the broad effects of homework phenomenon and teachers’ thoughts on this process within the scope of teachers’ opinions. The data were collected from 53 teachers who voluntarily participated in the research, with an interview form prepared in line with the sub-purposes of the research. The research was designed with the phenomenology pattern, which is one of the qualitative methods. The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis. As a result of the research, it was concluded that homework is necessary for students in terms of responsibility and duty awareness, homework provides opportunities for out-of-school learning by reinforcing what is learned at school, has positive reflections on the personality development of the individual, and effective solutions can be offered for the problems encountered in homework. In addition, it has been determined that the teacher’s effectiveness in the homework control process is important for the function of the homework, and that homework has a significant contribution on students, families and teachers as well. Amaç: Proteinlerin besin kaynağından dolayı tokluk üzerine etkileri de farklı olabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada iki farklı protein kaynaklı kahvaltının tokluk belirteçleri, serum insülin ve glikoz üzerine etkisini incelemek amaçlandı. Yöntem: Bu çalışma 18-45 yaş arası 31 sağlıklı birey ile randomize çapraz geçişli olarak yürütüldü. Çalışmada farklı protein kaynağına sahip iki farklı kahvaltı bireylere sunuldu. Kahvaltılar bitkisel ve hayvansal kaynaklı besinlerden oluşturuldu. Bireylere kahvaltı sonrasında tokluk durumunu ölçmeyi amaçlayan VAS skalası 30 dakikalık aralıklar ile uygulandı. Warburg micro syndrome (WARBM) is a rare, autosomal recessive, neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by microcephaly, cortical dysplasia, corpus callosum hypoplasia, congenital hypotonia leading to subsequent spastic quadriplegia, severe developmental delay and hypogenitalism. Ophthalmologic findings that may affect any ocular segment including characteristic, small, atonic pupils. WARBM is known to be caused by biallelic, pathogenic variants in at least five genes although additional genetic loci may exist. The RAB3GAP1 c.748 + 1G>A, p.Asp250CysfsTer24 founder variant has been described in families of Turkish ancestry. We report the clinical and molecular findings in three, unrelated, Turkish families with WARBM. A novel c.974-2A>G variant causing WARBM in three siblings of Turkish descent was found. Functional studies of the novel, c.2606 + 1G>A variant in patients\" mRNA revealed skipping of exon 22 which results in a premature stop codon in exon 23. However, the clinical consequences of this variant are blended given that the individual also had a maternally inherited chromosome 3q29 microduplication.

Various plasticizer additives or modifications tested to improve the mechanical properties. In the presented study, ALG plasticized with triacetin (TA), and tributyl citrate (TBC) than tested on bone healing. In the presented study, the alginate modified with triacetin or tributyl citrate. In-vitro, and in-vivo efficiency of the scaffolds tested on bone tissue regeneration. Scaffolds fabricated by solvent casting, and physicochemical characterizations performed. Monocytes (THP-1) cultured with scaffolds, and macrophage-released cytokines was determined. In-vivo efficacy of the scaffolds was tested in the rat drill hole model. Alginate and tributyl citrate-modified scaffolds have no cytotoxic effect on osteoblastic cells (MC-3T3). Tributyl citrate modification increased tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) level but did not increase interleukin -1 beta (IL-1 beta) level. In vivo studies showed that osteoblastic growth was significant in alginate and triacetin-modified scaffolds. However, the best values for osteoclastic activity and osteoid tissue formation seen in the triacetin modification. The results demonstrated that the modified alginate scaffolds were more successful than non-modified alginate scaffolds and can used as long-term bone repairing treatments.

In this study, solvent extraction is applied for extracting nickel from sulfate solutions containing iron and cobalt ions. This process can also be applied for the cleaning of waste solutions and for increasing solution concentrations after the leaching of low-grade nickel ores. Di-2-Ethylhexyl phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) was used as an extractant for this purpose. Effects of pH, aqueous/organic (A/O) phase ratio, iron, and cobalt ion contents of the solution on nickel extraction efficiency were investigated. The McCabe-Thiele diagrams for extraction and stripping steps were developed to determine the number of stages required. A total of two stages were required for 96.3% of Ni extraction and a total of two stages to strip nickel with 98% efficiency.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate university students' attitudes toward sustainable nutrition, their level of knowledge in this area, and the associations between these variables and food preferences. Methods: This study was conducted with university students between the ages of 19-45. The study data were collected between May 2022 and July. In the study, the Scale of sustainable nutrition knowledge was used for the sustainable nutrition knowledge level of individuals. The food choice scale was used to determine the food preference and the Sustainable and Healthy Eating Behaviors scale was used to determine the health food choice preference. Results: The study involved 467 participants, and female made up 64.67% of the study's participants. The mean age of the group was 23.21 ± 6.13 years. Knowledge of sustainable nutrition increases by 1.365 for every 0.821 increase in educational level. The sustainable nutrition knowledge score increased by 1.529 points, the scale score for sustainable and healthy eating behaviors increased by 0.651 points, and the monthly income to the model increased by 1.611 times for every 1.109 unit (p = 0.005). Conclusions: Our survey shows that most college students believe eating sustainably is important. As people's education and knowledge about sustainable nutrition rise, so do their healthy eating habits. Expand sustainable nutrition education, add it to the curriculum, and create nutrition guides to promote this novel concept in our country.

BACKGROUND: Although obstetric morbidity and mortality have decreased recently, rates are still high enough to constitute a significant health problem. With the COVID-19 pandemic, many obstetric patients have required treatment in intensive care units (ICU). OBJECTIVES: Evaluate critical obstetric patients who were treated in an ICU for COVID-19 and followed up for 90 days. DESIGN: Medical record review SETTING: Intensıve care unit PATİENTS AND METHODS: Obstetric patients admitted to the ICU between 15 March 2020 and 15 March 2022 and followed up for at least 90 days were evaluated retrospectively. Patients with and without COVID-19 were compared by gestational week, indications, comorbidities, length of stay in the hospital and ICU, requirement for mechanical ventilation, blood transfusion, renal replacement therapy (RRT), plasmapheresis, ICU scores, and mortality. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Clinical outcomes and mortality. SAMPLE SIZE AND CHARACTERISTICS: 102 patients with a mean (SD) maternal age of 29.1 (6.3) years, and median (IQR) length of gestation of 35.0 (7.8) weeks. RESULTS: About 30% (n=31) of the patients were positive for COVID-19. Most (87.2%) were cesarean deliveries; 4.9% vaginal (8.7% did not deliver). COVID-19, eclampsia/preeclampsia, and postpartum hemorrhage were the most common ICU indications. While the 28-day mortality was 19.3% (n=6) in the COVID-19 group, it was 1.4% (n=1) in the non-COVID-19 group ( P P =.01) while the duration of stay in ICU ( P P =.03), lactate ( P =.002), blood transfusions ( P =.001), plasmapheresis requirements ( P =.02), and 28-day mortality were significantly higher ( P P =.007), duration of stay in ICU ( P P P =.007), and plasmapheresis requirements ( P =.005) were significantly higher in patients who died than in those who were discharged. CONCLUSION: The most common indication for ICU admission was COVID-19. The APACHE-2 scoring was helpful in predicting mortality. We think multicenter studies with larger sample sizes are needed for COVID-19 obstetric patients. In addition to greater mortality and morbidity, the infection may affect newborn outcomes by causing premature birth. LIMITATIONS: Retrospectıve, single-center, small population size. Workplace Incivility (WPI) has recently become a dominant area of research as a predictor of employee behavior at work. WPI is a menace in the workplace that creates dissatisfied employees who spend most of their time on non-productive tasks. Based on a sample of 504 employees of public and private sector institutions in The Gambia and Ghana, this article examines the impact of workplace incivility on employee counterproductive work behavior through the mediating role of Turnover Intention (TI). Using structural equation modeling, the results indicate a strong relationship between workplace incivility and Counterproductive Work Behavior (CWB) as well as a partial mediating role of TI in the relationship between WPI and CWB. Furthermore, the independent sample t-test and multigroup analysis show a higher level of WPI, TI, and CWB in Ghana compared to The Gambia. These findings contribute to the under-researched area of WPI on the African continent. This study also adds value to the existing, but sparse, literature on workplace incivility and may also be used as a guide for public and private institutions in their pursuit of avoiding workplace incivility as well as knowing its effects on institutional productivity. Finally, this study is the first of its kind to look at the existence of WPI in both public and private institutions from The Gambia and Ghana making country comparisons as well as looking at the impact of WPI on the performance of employees hence its relevance to the literature.(c) CIKD Publishing.

Neuroligin-4 (NLGN4) loss-of-function mutations are associated with monogenic heritable autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and cause alterations in both synaptic and behavioral phenotypes. Microglia, the resident CNS macrophages, are implicated in ASD development and progression. Here we studied the impact of NLGN4 loss in a mouse model, focusing on microglia phenotype and function in both male and female mice. NLGN4 depletion caused lower microglia density, less ramified morphology, reduced response to injury and purinergic signaling specifically in the hippocampal CA3 region predominantly in male mice. Proteomic analysis revealed disrupted energy metabolism in male microglia and provided further evidence for sexual dimorphism in the ASD associated microglial phenotype. In addition, we observed impaired gamma oscillations in a sex-dependent manner. Lastly, estradiol application in male NLGN4(-/-) mice restored the altered microglial phenotype and function. Together, these results indicate that loss of NLGN4 affects not only neuronal network activity, but also changes the microglia state in a sex-dependent manner that could be targeted by estradiol treatment.

Seed treatment against soil pests and soil-borne pathogenic fungi, foliar application of microelement and mepiquat chloride at flowering and after flowering periods promise to increase peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) yield. A two-year field study was conducted to test this hypothesis by seed fungicide and insecticide treatment, foliar micronutrient and mepiquat chloride (Pix) applications at different combinations and different growth stages of peanut in the eastern Mediterranean region. The treatments were different combinations of Vitavax (200 g/L Carboxin + 200 g/L Thiram) 400 g/L 100 kg seed, Gaucho (600 g/L Imidacloprid) 800 g/L 100 kg seed, Fertilon Combi (Fe, Zn, B, Mn, Cu, Mn and Mo) 1000 g /ha and Pix (150 cc /ha mepiquat chloride). Peanut seeds were treated with fungicide and insecticide before planting. Microelement fertilizer and Pix combinations were applied at the beginning of flowering, after flowering and at the beginning of flowering + after flowering. The best results for seed kernel ratio, 100 seed weight and pod yield were obtained from Pix + Fertilon Combin treatment after flowering. This treatment was followed by Goucho + Vitavax seed treatment before planting + Pix application after flowering. In this study, it was observed that Goucho + Vitavax seed treatment and Pix, Fertilon Combi and Pix + Fertilon Combi applications at flowering, after flowering and at flowering + after flowering applications generally contributed pod yield increases.

The high mortality rate of Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) patients is partly due to the invasive behavior of the tumor cells. Given the increased resistance to conventional therapies of invasive cells after surgical operations, current treatments are ineffective. Therefore, understanding the mechanisms of GBM cell invasion is critical for the development of successful therapeutic approaches. Natural small molecules and metabolites are widely used as chemotherapeutic and adjuvant agents in cancer treatments because they have strong anticancer properties and minimal side effects. Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) is an antioxidant that has been found to reduce the level of ROS and increase GPx activity in cancer patients. In this study, we analyzed the in-vitro cytotoxic potential and apoptotic effect in A172 and U373 cells in the presence of various concentrations (7.8-500 µM) of ALA. We also investigated scratch assay in both cell lines. The ALA inhibited cell viability of A172 and U373 cells at 48h. In addition, Bax mRNA expression was significantly increased in response to ALA for A172 cells. Furthermore, the BCL-2 level was decreased in A172 cells with ALA after 48h. Caspase 3 and 9 mRNA expressions were increased in ALA treated U373 cell line. In summary, we found that ALA inhibits cell growth and causes apoptosis in A172 and U373 glioblastoma cells.

İnsanın doğasında var olan geçmişe bağlı olma durumu, kişilerin alt belleğine inen duyumsamalarla var olmaktadır. Bireyler bu noktada geçmişten izler taşıyan somut bir nesne ile bağ kurma eğilimindedir. Retro mobilyalar da bu bağın kurulmasından önemli bir aracı görevi görmektedir. Retro mobilya farkındalık ve eğilim düzeyinin yaş ve cinsiyet değişkenleri açısından araştırılmasının amaçlandığı çalışma 251 katılımcı ile yürütülmüş olup, verilerin işlenmesi sırasında 11 anket formunun uygun doldurulmadığı tespit edilerek kapsam dışı bırakılmış ve 240 adet anket formu üzerinden analizler yapılmıştır. Belirlenen ana kütle Türkiye’de retro mobilya faaliyetleriyle etkileşimde olabilecek ve X, Y, Z kuşağını tanımlayan 18-60 yaş arası katılımcılar, yansız örneklem yöntemi ile çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Çalışmada yer alan ifadeler retro mobilya farkındalığı ve retro mobilya eğilimi olarak iki boyutta toplanmıştır. Her iki boyuta ait bazı betimleyici istatiksel değerlerde anlamlı farklılıklar olduğu görülmüştür. Katılımcılara ait cinsiyet değişkeni ile retro mobilya farkındalığı arasında anlamlı farklılıklar saptanmıştır ancak retro mobilya eğilimi arasında anlamlı farklılık saptanamamıştır. Bu bulgunun, retro mobilyaların tanıtım sürecinde hedeflenen kitlenin belirlenmesinde kaynak olarak değerlendirilebileceği düşünülmektedir. Kuşak tanımlarıyla X, Y ve Z olarak ifade edilen yaş gruplarına uygulanan analizlerde, yaş değişkeni ile retro mobilya eğilimleri arasında anlamlı farklılıklar saptanırken, retro mobilya farkındalığı arasında anlamlı fark olmadığı görülmüştür. Bu bulgular ışığında yaş değişkeninin retro mobilyalara ilişkin eğilimleri etkilediği ancak farkındalık düzeyini etkilemediği yorumu yapılabilmektedir.

Background: Intussusception is one of the most common abdominal emergencies in children. While the majority of childhood intussusceptions are ilecolic and idiopathic, small bowel intussusceptions are rare and a pathological trigger is often blamed for the etiology. Ultrasonography is the most commonly used diagnostic tool in the diagnosis of intussusception. Objectives: To determine auxiliary diagnostic criteria for ultrasonography in the differentiation of small bowel intussusceptions based on ultrasonography, reduction and surgical findings of surgically confirmed small bowel intussusceptions and to contribute to the diagnosis and treatment algorithm of small bowel intussusceptions based on our clinical experience. Methods: The records of patients who underwent surgery for small bowel intussusception at the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pediatric Surgery between January 2008 and December 2020 were retrospectively reviewed. Demographic characteristics, ultrasonographic findings, onset and duration of symptoms, treatment method, intraoperative findings and histopathological results of the patients were recorded. Results: Thirty-six pediatric patients with small bowel intussusception were operated. The average age of these patients was 59 ± 49.7 months and %78 was male. The location of the small bowel intussusception detected by ultrasound scan was the paraumbilical area and left quadrant in 19 (53%) patients and the right quadrant in 15 (42%) patients. In ultrasonography, the mean diameter of the invaginated segment was 3 (1.2-6.5) cm and the mean length was 6.7 (3-15) cm. Pathological lead points were detected in the etiology of nineteen (53%) patients. Thirteen (36%) patients underwent segmental resection and anastomosis due to necrosis. Conclusions: Small bowel intussusceptions are often localized in the paraumbilical and left upper quadrant. However, it should be kept in mind that it may be localized in the right lower quadrant like ileocolic invaginations. Enema reduction can be used as an adjunctive diagnostic method to exclude ileocolic invaginations rather than treatment in these patients. The diameter and length of the invaginated segment may be decisive in the surgical decision of the small bowel intussusception. Giriş: İnvaginasyon, çocuklarda sık görülen abdominal acillerden birisidir. Çocukluk çağı invaginasyonlarının büyük çoğunluğu ilekolik seviyede ve idiopatik iken, ince barsak invaginasyonları daha nadir olup etyolojide sıklıkla bir patolojik tetikleyici suçlanmaktadır. Ultrasonografi invaginasyon tanısında en sık kullanılan tanı aracıdır. Amaç: Cerrahi olarak kesinleşmiş ince barsak invaginasyonlarının ultrasonografi, redüksiyon ve cerrahi bulgularından yola çıkarak ince bağırsak invaginasyonlarında yardımcı tanı kriterleri belirlemek ve klinik deneyimlerimize dayanarak ince barsak invaginasyonlarının tanı ve tedavi algoritmasına katkıda bulunmak. Yöntemler: Tıp Fakültesi Çocuk Cerrahisi Kliniğinde Ocak 2008 - Aralık 2020 yılları arasında ince bağırsak invaginasyonları nedeniyle cerrahi olan hastaların kayıtları retrospektif olarak incelendi. Hastaların demografik özellikleri, ultsonografik bulguları, semptomların başlangıcı ve süresi, tedavi yöntemi, intraoperatif bulgulari ve patoloji sonuçları kaydedildi. Bulgular: İnce bağırsak invaginasyonu olan 36 hasta cerrahi olarak tedavi edildi. Bu hastaların ortalama yaşı 59 ± 49,7 ay ve %78'i erkek idi. Ultrasonografi ile saptanan invagininasyon segmentinin yeri 19 (%53) ‘unda paraumbilikal alan ve sol kadran, 15(%42) 'inde sağ kadran idi. Ultrasonografide invagine segmentin ortalama çapı 3 (1,2-6,5) cm ve ortalama uzunluğu 6,7 (3- 15) cm idi. Hastaların 19(%53)'unda etyolojide patolojik lead point tespit edildi. Onüç (%36) hastaya nekroz nedeniyle segmental rezeksiyon ve anastomoz uygulandı. Sonuçlar: İnce barsak invaginasyonları sıklıkla paraumblikal ve sol üst kadran lokalizasyonludur. Ancak ileokolik invaginasyonlar gibi sağ alt kadran lokalizasyonlu olabileceği de unutulmamalıdır. Enema redüksiyon, bu hastalarda tedaviden ziyade ileokolik invaginasyonların dışlanmasında yardımcı bir tanı yöntemi olarak kullanılabilir. SBI'nın cerrahi kararında, invajine segmentin çapı ve uzunluğu belirleyici olabilir.

In this research, the numerical integral method procedure on uniform mesh is used to solve the singularly perturbed problem which has integral boundary value. This method also includes the trapezoid method, the finite difference method, and the Thomas algorithm. The problem is converted to finite difference problem by using finite difference approximations and trapezoid method. Finally, the convergence of the presented method is analyzed through sample application. Thus, the correctness and sufficiency of the method are shown.

Çalışma kapsamında analize dahil edilmiş olan gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkeler, OECD verileri baz alınarak sınıflandırılmıştır. 2008 krizinden ülkelerin makroekonomik faktörlerine göre etkilenme düzeylerinin araştırılması hedeflenmiştir. 2008 krizinden önce yaşanmış krizlerden az gelişmiş ya da gelişmemiş ülkelerin daha güçlü etkilenmiş olduğu bilinmekte iken yeni nesil kriz olan 2008 krizinden gelişmiş ülkelerin daha çok etkilenmiş olabileceğinin araştırılması bu çalışmanın hipotezidi ve bu hususun araştırılması hedeflenmiştir. Öncelikli olarak gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülke ekonomilerinin 2008 krizinden etkilenme düzeyleri ve makroekonomik faktörlerin zaman içinde gözlemlene dinamik ilişkilerinin ortaya konması hedeflenmiştir. 18 gelişmiş ve 13 gelişmekte olan ülkenin, 2008-2019 zaman aralığında çeyrek dönemlik işsizlik oranları, enflasyon oranları, Cari Açık/GSYİH, DYY/GSYİH verileri kullanılmış ve VAR Analizi ile analize edilmiştir ve bulgular detaylıca çalışma içinde açıklanmıştır. Analiz sonucunda enflasyon oranı faktöründen elde edilen bulgulara göre, gelişmekte olan ülkelerin gelişmiş ülkelere göre tüm dönemlerde daha olumsuz tepki verdiği, gelişmiş ülkelerin tepkisinin ise tüm dönemlerde olumlu olduğu ve tepkinin şiddetinin zamanla azaldığı görülmektedir., In this study, the impact levels of the 2008 crisis were investigated according to the macroeconomic factors of selected developed and developing countries classified according to OECD data. In the study, first of all, the level of being affected by the crisis according to the macro factors of developed and developing countries and the dynamic relations of macroeconomic factors over time were examined. Then, it was researched that developed and developing countries were more affected by the crisis according to which macroeconomic factors. The hypothesis of this study is that while underdeveloped and underdeveloped countries were more affected by the previous crises, developed countries may have been more affected by the 2008 Mortgage Crisis, which is one of the new generation financial crises. In the research, VAR Analysis method was applied by using quarterly unemployment rates, inflation rates, Current Account Deficit/GDP, FDI/GDP data of 18 developed and 13 developing countries between 2008-2019. According to the findings obtained as a result of the analysis, it was determined that developing countries were affected more strongly by the unemployment factor in the first periods after the crisis, and developed countries were affected more than developing countries in the following periods. According to the findings obtained from the inflation rate factor, it is seen that developing countries react more negatively in all periods compared to developed countries, while the reaction of developed countries is positive in all periods. and the severity of the reaction decreases with time.

The pullout performance of various pedicle screws after artificial fusion process was investigated in this study. Normal, cannulated (cemented), novel expandable and normal (cemented) pedicle screws were tested. Polyurethane foams (Grade 10 and Grade 40) produced by casting method were used as test materials. The instrumentation of pedicle screws has been carried out with production of foams, simultaneously. For cemented pedicle screws, 3D models were prepared with respect to the anteriosuperior and oblique radiographs by using PMMA before casting procedure. Pullout tests were performed in an Instron 3369 testing device. Load versus displacement graph was recorded and the ultimate force was defined as the pullout strength sustained before failure of screw. As expected, the pullout strengths of pedicle screws in postfusion are higher than before fusion. Pullout strengths increased significantly by artificial fusion in Grade 10 foams compared to Grade 40 foams. Additionally, while the pullout strengths of normal, cannulated and novel expandable pedicle screws increased by artificial fusion, cemented normal pedicle screws had lower pullout values than before fusion in Grade 40 foams. When the cemented normal pedicle screws are excluded, other screws have almost similar pullout strength level. On the other hand, the pedicle screws have different increasing behaviour also, there is no correlation between each other. As a result, the novel expandable pedicle screws can be used instead of normal and cannulated ones due to their performances in non-cemented usage.

Numerous indigenous plants may grow on Pakistan's soil due to its suitable climate. A few of these are now exploited as a source of expensive pharmaceuticals with therapeutic benefits. Since 4000-5000 B.C., people have used these native herbs as medicines. The Cordia gharaf plant is one of them. There are several phytochemicals found in plants, including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, phenolic compounds, and others, that can protect against disease. Many phytochemicals have a broad range of biological activities that help to protect against chronic illnesses, and around the world, they have been used to treat several different human ailments. According to a World Health Organization (WHO) report, more than 80% of the world's population uses traditional medicines for treatment and maintaining their health, and many valuable medications have been extracted from these medicinal plants. Therefore, scientific investigation is necessary to make enormous profits from these priceless medicinal plants. Due to the importance of the primary and secondary metabolites produced by these medicinal plants, our purpose includes the idea of examining biologically active components from these plants. Keeping in mind the foregoing, the goal of our research is to examine the phytochemicals from the selected species of Cordia gharaf that have disease-preventive properties.

Colorectal polyps and adenomas are a significant health concern that can lead to colorectal cancer. Detecting polyps and adenomas early is important to remove them in a timely manner, reducing the risk of cancer. Artificial intelligence (AI) could assist in identifying polyps and adenomas more efficiently. This study will investigate the potential benefits of AI technology in detecting colorectal adenomas, using AI-assisted colonoscopy diagnostic systems. The goal is to determine if there are differences in detection rates using AI compared to standard colonoscopy methods. PRISMA Statement 2020 guidelines were adhered to in this systematic review. Three databases were searched including PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase and Web of Science through February 23, 2023. A combination of the following keywords was used: AI, Artificial, Intelligence, Colorectal, Polyp, Adenoma. The adenoma detection rate (ADR) and polyp detection rate (PDR) were additionally meta-analyzed for proportions, and reported as odds ratio (OR), applying 95% confidence intervals (CI). A total of 9 randomized clinical trials were included in this review, pooling in 6981 participants. The findings were presented systematically, based on the design, technology used, effects on ADR and PDR, and key conclusions. The meta-analytical findings were reported as follows. On applying a random-effects model, the odds ratio (OR) for ADR was 1.532 (95% CI=1.125-2.087), with significant detection favoring CADe systems (P=0.0068). Background: Infection susceptibility during anesthesia administration and surgical procedures continues to be a primary cause of morbidity and mortality, despite the advent of prophylactic antibiotics and advanced technology. During surgery, nosocomial infections frequently result in sepsis, highlighting the importance of Operation Theatre (OT) sanitation. Objectives: To evaluate the hygienic practices of anesthesiologists operating in teaching hospitals in Sindh, Pakistan. Methods: Using cross-sectional design, six-month survey of consultant anesthetists in Sindh's numerous educational institutions was conducted. A thorough, self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data on aspects of sanitation practices including knowledge of infection control, existing practices, perceived obstacles, and adherence to guidelines. Utilizing a sequential sampling procedure, participants meeting specific eligibility criteria were selected to represent a wide range of demographics, socioeconomic statuses, and healthcare delivery contexts. Results: The study contributed to closing the disparity between global standards and actual practices, thereby aligning with the global initiative to improve anesthesia hygiene practices. A total of 83 consultants were approached, but 18 declined, culminating in the analysis of data from 65 participants. Their mean age was 49.27+11.17 years. Participants were predominantly employed in private institutions (n=43) and had an average of 13.97 (SD=10.24) years of experience (p> 0.05).

Nowadays brushless DC motors (BLDCMs) are becoming indispensable components as the electrification revolution in the mobility industry is happening. Electric kick scooters, so-called e-scooters, are among these micro-mobility vehicles which are powered by these motors. Due to the uncertain and nonlinear features, the controller performance developed for these motors degrades. For these reasons, a chattering-reduced cascaded Sliding Mode Control (SMC) scheme to effectively track reference motor speed in the outer loop by eliminating torque ripples in the inner loop current control was designed. Field-oriented Control (FOC) methodology was used to implement the SMC in the BLDCM. An exponential reaching law algorithm was proposed for sliding surfaces of the inner and outer loop controllers. The suitability and performance of electric scooter-hub motors were analyzed in terms of traction control. A cascaded speed and torque controller produced significantly favorable results representing minimized torque and current ripples, and operation over a wide speed range.

Background: Hepatitis D virus research has advanced in recent decades. In this study, we aim to quantitatively analyze the scientific data in the field of "hepatitis D virus" by using bibliometric analysis. Methods: Research documents published in the Web of Science database between 1984 and 2022 were included in the study. The search keywords were "hepatitis D" or "hepatitis-D" or "HDV" or "hepatitis virus D." The full record and cited references of documents extracted were converted to a "bibtex" file as well. The R-Studio software's Bibliometrix package and Biblioshinny application are used to perform the bibliometric analysis. Results: A total of 1530 publications written by 6042 authors were identified. Most of the publications were articles (62.81%). The number of published articles increased gradually, especially after 2008. The articles of the authors were mostly published in the United States, Germany, and China. The affiliation where the most studies were conducted was Hannover Medical School (8.82%). Also, the United States and Germany were found to be the main countries in the collaboration network. Mario Rizzetto was the author of the most published articles on HDV. The most frequently used words in the articles were "infection," "prevalence," and "b-virus." Conclusion: Clinical and epidemiological studies on HDV were given more focus, while studies on treatment were less numerous. It can also be predicted that potent treatment options will increase more in the coming years, and the frequency of studies on this will increase.

OBJECTIVES: Dexketoprofen is a non-steroidal analgesic/anti-inflammatory drug and its trometamol salt is extensively preferred in mild or moderate pain due to its rapid onset of relief. A new formulation of 36.9 mg of dexketoprofen trometamol (equivalent to 25 mg dexketoprofen) tablet has been developed and its bioequivalence to the reference product was proven. MATERIALS AND METHODS: An open-label, single-dose, randomized, two-period, and cross-over bioequivalence study was conducted with healthy males under fasting conditions for two different tablet formulations of 25 mg dexketoprofen. To prove the bioequivalence of the test product with the reference product, a comparison study has been performed in compliance with regulations in force under Good Clinical Practice principles. A single-center clinical study was run and blood samples of the participants were withdrawn at specified time points, before and after dosing, to measure the plasma concentrations of dexketoprofen trometamol. A validated analytical method has been developed using an liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry. Instrument to assess the plasma concentrations of the test and reference products. RESULTS: Forty-seven volunteers completed clinical phase of the study. For the test and reference products, the mean ± standard deviations (SD) of C(max) were found 2543.82 ± 655.42 ng/mL and 2539.11 ± 662.57 ng/mL, and the mean ± SD of area under the curve (AUC) from time 0 to the last measurable concentration (AUC(0-tlast)) were found 3483.49 ± 574.42 h.ng/mL and 3560.75 ± 661.83 h.ng/mL, respectively. The primary target variables data demonstrate the bioequivalence of test and reference products with regard to 90% confidence interval for C(max) of 92.45-108.53% and for AUC(0-tlast) of 95.57-100.87%. The geometric mean ratios were found as 100.16% and 98.18% for C(max) and AUC(0-tlast), respectively. There were no serious adverse events or adverse reactions reported throughout the study. CONCLUSION: After statistical evaluation of the analytical results, the test and reference products were considered bioequivalent. Both products were well tolerated and considered as safe.

How do Turkish female soldiers’ (TFS) relate to and manage their (in)visibility within the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF)? Guided by a social-constructionist approach and driven by a gendered perspective, we display the embeddedness of gender role expectations and TFS struggle for visibility within TAF and the wider social context. We explore TFS accounts displaying cultural and organizational practices inhibiting their visibility along with how they manage it. Our findings provide insight into the dynamics of social and organizational practices that impact women’s visibility and advance the understanding of how marginalized members in similar settings may relate, manage and navigate their careers in their daily organizational life elsewhere.

For any biliary system or liver surgery, it is crucial to have a thorough understanding of the normal branching pattern of the intrahepatic bile duct and its deviations in order to prevent serious post-surgical problems and morbidity. Aim: This study's goal was to assess the variations in intrahepatic bile ducts appeared during Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) examinations. Place and Duration: In the Radiology department of Mian Gul Abdul Haq Jehanzeb Kidney Hospital Swat from January 2022 to June 2022. Methods: This cross-sectional, quantitative study was conducted among people who had been referred for MRCP examinations for a number of clinical reasons. A total of 70 patients done with MRCP examinations were selected by convenience sampling technique being used. The data of 1.5T Magnetom Amira Siemens MRI scanner was used for anlaysis. Using visual analysis, the 3D MRCP images were categorized into 7 Types using the Choi et al classification. Results: Among the 36(51.4%) patients in this analysis had Type 1/normal IHBD, 13(18.6%) had Type 2 IHBD, Type 3A was seen in 2(2.8%), and Type 3B was noticed in 5.7% of subjects.

BackgroundWidespread use of subcutaneous injection for parenteral medications is likely to be related to high medication bioavailability and rapid onset of action. Correct subcutaneous injection technique and site selection are essential for nursing care quality and patient safety.AimThe study aimed to determine nurses' knowledge and practice preferences regarding subcutaneous injection technique and administration site selection.DesignThis cross-sectional study took place between March and June 2021.MethodsThis study included 289 nurses, willing to participate who worked in units performing subcutaneous injections in a university hospital in Turkey.ResultsMost nurses reported their preferred administration site for subcutaneous injections was the lateral aspects of the upper arm. More than half of the nurses did not use a rotation chart, they swabbed the skin before a subcutaneous injection, and they always pinched the skin at the injection site; 50% of nurses reported always administering subcutaneous injections at an angle of either 90 or 45 degrees. Most nurses performed an injection in less than 30 s and waited for 10 s before withdrawing the needle. They did not apply massage onto the site following the injection. Nurses' knowledge of subcutaneous injection was at a moderate level.ConclusionsNurse knowledge of best practice subcutaneous injection administration and site selection could be improved in line with current evidence to improve personcentred and quality and safe care delivery. Future research should involve developing and evaluating educational strategies and practice standards to enhance nurse understanding of best practice evidence to meet patient safety goals.

The purpose of this single case study was to investigate the effects of the WATSU training program (WTP) on 21 years old male with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This study used a high level of individual and structured interventions to improve the underperforming adaptive functioning areas like social and academic skills in ASD. The individualized intervention of WTP was completed in five days using critical verbal and bodily language, technical demonstration, taking turns, basic skills, and timely feedback in a social and sensory-isolated environment. The results were collected via in-training observation, semi-structured family and athletic trainer interviews to evaluate the participant’s condition before and after the WTP. The structured communication opportunities improved the sense of trust and played a prominent role in the development of the quality of life. The results indicated that WTP reduced repetitive movements, stress reactions, challenging behaviors, and improved communication skills. In addition, changing roles, positions, and transitions in WATSU training increased the participant’s resiliency in his life with more comfort. Finally, tactile-emotional quality afferents, warmth, and buoyancy of the water, altered and enriched proprioceptive and vestibular input, being safely cradled in the arms instructor were likely to be the other factors improving the underperforming areas including communication, repetitive movements, stress reactions and challenging behaviors.
