- Abstract
INDONESIASouth East Asia is represented in a paper by Afiyanti and Milanti who focus on Indonesian adult oncology nurses and their patients. The authors highlight, Normally, for every hospitalised patient there will be at least one family member who will accompany the patient. It is not uncommon to have all family members staying with a patient in their hospital room. It is also typical to have a constant flow of visitors during visiting hours for the inpatients. However, with a no-visitor policy, the patients can feel unusually socially isolated and lonely. The nurses encourage the patients to always stay connected with their family and friends. Indonesian cancer patients usually network with other patients with cancer via Facebook or WhatsApp groups. Nurses can introduce or motivate the patients to engage in such networks. ----Ecancer Special Issue, December 2021 Oncology nursing and the psychosocial impact of COVID-19 in the Global South Supplement
