An increasing number of noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) have been found to regulate gene expression and protein functions, playing important roles in diverse biological processes and diseases. Their crucial functions have been reported in almost every cell type and all stages of skin wound healing. Evidence of their pathogenetic roles in common wound complications, such as chronic nonhealing wounds and excessive scarring, is also accumulating. Given their unique expression and functional properties, ncRNAs are promising therapeutic and diagnostic entities. In this review, we discuss current knowledge about the functional roles of noncoding elements, such as microRNAs, long ncRNAs, and circular RNAs, in skin wound healing, focusing on in vivo evidence from studies of human wound samples and animal wound models. Finally, we provide a perspective on the outlook of ncRNA-based therapeutics in wound care.

The follow-up timing observations were carried out for 24 pulsars discovered with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) in Commensal Radio Astronomy FAST Survey. We report their phase-connected timing ephemeris, polarization pulse profiles, and Faraday rotation measurements. With their spin periods spanning from 2.995 ms to 4.34 s, their period derivatives were determined to spread between 7.996(8) × 10−21 and 9.83(3) × 10−15 s s−1, which imply that they have characteristic ages from 1.97 × 106 to 5.93 × 109 yr. It is inferred that PSRs J0211+4235 and J0518+2431 are beyond the ‘traditional death line’. PSR J0211+4235 is beyond the ‘death valley’. The death line model of Zhang et al. also cannot explain the radio presence of PSR J0211+4235. This suggests that radiation theory needs to be improved. Besides, ten of the 22 canonical pulsars show nulling phenomena. Moreover, PSR J1617+1123 exhibits variation of emission and J0540+4542 shows subpulse drifting. The DM of five pulsars is larger than the estimated by the YMW16 electron density model, which could suggest that electron density models need updates for higher Galactic latitude regions. PSRs J0447+2447 and J1928−0548 are isolated millisecond pulsars. With their flux densities spanning from 5(1)–553(106) μJy, some of these new pulsars found by FAST are distant, dim, and low-$\dot{E}$ ones and are suitable for testing pulsar emission theories.

PurposeMany companies must choose a marketing strategy to promote new products. This includes publishing digital video advertising with interactive features on the Internet. Guided by the attribute-framing theory, this study investigates the impact of the number of positive attribute framings (NPAF) in advertising messages on consumer responses. This study aims to check whether new products are incrementally new products (INPs) or really new products (RNPs).Design/methodology/approachContent analysis was conducted to identify the forms and components of attribute framing used in advertisements and consumer responses (i.e. review valence). Furthermore, this study followed an expert scoring procedure to identify product newness (INP vs. RNP). Hierarchical polynomial regression analysis was used to investigate the relationship between the NPAF, customer response and product newness.FindingsThis study has three main findings: (1) regardless of whether the new product is INP or RNP, there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between NPAF and consumer responses; (2) the inflection point of NPAF (INP) is greater than the inflection point of NPAF (RNP) and (3) the maximum value of consumer response for INP is greater than that for RNP.Originality/valueThis study sheds light on the effectiveness of attribute framing in new product advertising. Compared to previous research on attribute framing of advertising, this study is based on a realistic scenario in which multiple attributes are framed within a given advertisement copy. Furthermore, secondary data were used to test the impact of NPAF on consumer responses and further explore the effects of product newness.

The regeneration of hierarchical osteochondral units is challenging due to difficulties in inducing spatial, directional and controllable differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) into cartilage and bone compartments. Emerging organoid technology offers new opportunities for osteochondral regeneration. In this study, we developed gelatin-based microcryogels customized using hyaluronic acid (HA) and hydroxyapatite (HYP), respectively for inducing cartilage and bone regeneration (denoted as CH-Microcryogels and OS-Microcryogels) through in vivo self-assembly into osteochondral organoids. The customized microcryogels showed good cytocompatibility and induced chondrogenic and osteogenic differentiation of MSCs, while also demonstrating the ability to self-assemble into osteochondral organoids with no delamination in the biphasic cartilage-bone structure. Analysis by mRNA-seq showed that CH-Microcryogels promoted chondrogenic differentiation and inhibited inflammation, while OS-Microcryogels facilitated osteogenic differentiation and suppressed the immune response, by regulating specific signaling pathways. Finally, the in vivo engraftment of pre-differentiated customized microcryogels into canine osteochondral defects resulted in the spontaneous assembly of an osteochondral unit, inducing simultaneous regeneration of both articular cartilage and subchondral bone. In conclusion, this novel approach for generating self-assembling osteochondral organoids utilizing tailor-made microcryogels presents a highly promising avenue for advancing the field of tissue engineering.

Introduction: Based on bioactive group splicing, classical bioisosterism, and the rule of alkene insertion, forty-eight aurone, and indanone derivatives were designed and synthesized. They were evaluated for inhibitory activity against C. albicans, E. coli, and S. aureus. Among them, thirty compounds exhibited moderate to excellent antibacterial activity. Method: The maximum circle of inhibition was 18 mm (compounds B15, B16, and E7), and the minimum values of MIC and MBC were respectively 15.625 μM (compounds A5 and D2) and 62.5 μM (compounds A6, A8, and E7). Results: The SAR showed that aurone and indanone derivatives could strongly inhibit the growth of Gram-positive bacteria. The introduction of electron-withdrawing groups or hydroxyl is beneficial to the activity. It was exciting that the 3-phenylallylbenzofuranone and 3-allylindanone skeletons with antimicrobial activity were first reported in this study. Compounds A5 and E7 were selected for molecular docking studies with targets MetRS (PBD: 7WPI) and PBP (PDB: 6C3K) to determine the binding interactions at the active site. Conclusion: On this basis, the physicochemical and pharmacological properties of the compounds were predicted and analyzed. The influence of these properties on antimicrobial activity and their implications for subsequent work were discussed. The ADMET (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion, Toxicity) predictions showed that most of the compounds had good pharmacokinetic profiles and high safety profiles.
