Evaluation of anthelmintic activity of a leaves extracts ofDryopteris filix-mas against earthworm with Preliminary work as physical characteristics. Finally extraction of defattedDryopteris filix-mas extract was done with hydro-alcoholic solvent and % yield was found to be 6.55% w/w and their characteristics are reported. Results obtained from qualitative chemical tests are tabulated. Total alkaloid content was calculated as atropine equivalent mg/100 mg using the equation based on the calibration curve: Y=0.007X+ 0.007, R2=0.999, where X is the Atropine equivalent (AE) and Y is the absorbance. Total phenol content was expressed as mg/100 mg of gallic acid equivalent of dry extract sample using the equation obtained from the calibration curve: Y = 0.017X+0.017, R2= 0.998, where X is the gallic acid equivalent (GAE) and Y is the absorbance. The present findings indicated that the usefulness of the hydroalcoholic extract of leaves ofDryopteris filix-mas in earthworm. This study suggested, hydroalcoholic extract of leaves ofDryopteris filix-mas dose- dependently produced anthelmintic activity.

Hengeveld/Mackenzie (2008: 52) consider that the constructions with mas ‘but’ result from the combination of two Discursive Acts with different communicative statutes, there being a Nuclear Discursive Act, with greater communicative weight, and a Subsidiary Discursive Act, which will have a rhetorical function named “Concession”. This paper aims to investigate the various uses of mas ‘but’, according to Functional Discourse Grammar, in order to determine the pragmatic, semantic, and morphosyntactic properties of each case in real occurrences of Portuguese. The combination of linguistic units through mas ‘but’ always indicates interpersonal strategies, which are differentiated by the communicative intention of the speaker as well as reflected in the layer involved. However, mas maintains the capacity to attribute the most salient status of information to the unit it scopes or operates on. We identified four uses of mas ‘but’ in different layers: Move Operator in the Move layer, Emphasis Operator and Concession rhetorical function in the Discursive Act layer, and the Contrast pragmatic function in the Communicated Content layer.

Problem based learning (PBL) is a learning model that is triggered by problems, which encourages students to learn and work cooperatively in groups to find solutions, think critically and analytically, be able to determine and use appropriate learning resources. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying the problem based learning method in increasing understanding of the concept of learning outcomes for 21 students of class XII science in Genetics. The subjects in this study were students of class XII science. The type of research conducted is in the form of Classroom Action Research (CAR) by following the syntax of Kemmis and Taggart, covering four stages, namely: 1) planning (planning); 2) implementation (acting); 3) observation and 4) reflection. Learning outcomes data were obtained through written tests before and after learning. The results of this study indicate that the learning outcomes of students in class XIIIPA MAS YASPI Labuhan Deli after learning Problem Based Learning experienced an increase in learning outcomes on Genetic Materials, the results showed an increase in student understanding from the comparison between the first meeting and obtained an average score of 50 and the second meeting obtained a score of average 80 point. ABSTRAK Problem based learning (PBL) adalah model pembelajaran yang dipicu oleh permasalahan, yang mendorong siswa untuk belajar dan bekerja kooperatif dalam kelompok untuk mendapatkan solusi, berpikir kritis dan analitis, mampu menetapkan serta menggunakan sumber daya pembelajaran yang sesuai. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode Problem based learning dalam peningkatan pemahaman konsep hasil belajar siswa kelas XII IPA sebanyak 21 siswa pada Materi Genetika. Subjek dalam penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas XII IPA. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan berupa Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan mengikuti sintaks dari Kemmis dan Taggart, meliputi empat tahapan yaitu: 1) perencanaan (planning); 2) pelaksanaan (acting); 3) pengamatan (observing) dan 4) refleksi (reflecting). Data hasil belajar diperoleh melalui tes tertulis sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa kelas XIIIPA MAS YASPI Labuhan Deli setelah pembelajaran Problem Based Learning mengalami peningkatan hasil belajar pada Materi Genetika didapatkan hasil peningkatan dari pemahaman siswa dari perbandingan antara pertemuan I dan didapatkan rata-rata nilai sebanayak 50 serta pertemuan II didapatkan nilai rata-rata 80. This research is entitled Elements of Javanese – Dutch Culture in Mas Marco Kartodikromo's Student Hidjo Novel (Literary Anthropological Studies). This study aims to describe elements of Javanese culture and elements of Dutch culture contained in the novel Student Hidjo by Mas Marco Kartodikromo. The source of data is the novel Student Hidjo by Mas Marco Kartodikromo. The approach used is the approach of literary anthropology. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection techniques used are reading, recording, and literature studies. From the results, the elements of Javanese cultural and Dutch cultural exist in this novel. In terms of data that indicating elements of Javanese culture in Student Hidjo Novel, 7 data were found related to living equipment and technology, 8 data related to livelihoods, 14 data related to the societal system, 20 data related to cultural elements related to language, 4 data related to the arts, 3 data relating to knowledge systems, 5 data related to religion. Meanwhile, elements of Dutch culture in Student Hidjo novels related to living equipment and technology were found 2 data, 6 data related to livelihoods, 2 data related to the societal system, 50 data related to language, 2 data related to art, 3 data related to the knowledge system, while no data was found related to religion. Of the seven cultural elements, all proves the difference between Javanese culture and Dutch culture in the novel Student Hidjo.

Salah satu kendala yang sering dihadapi oleh pembudidaya ikan mas dalam usaha pembenihannya adalah derajat penetasan telur masih rendah yaitu 32,67% (Setyono, 2009). Hal ini disebabkan karena telur ikan mas yang bersifat adhesif telur saling menempel dengan lendir yang lengket dan menutupi seluruh permukaan telur. Gumpalan telur dan lendir dapat menghambat masuknya oksigen sehingga, perkembangan telur terhambat yang mengakibatkan daya tetas telur ikan mas rendah. Salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi hal tersebut adalah dengan merendam telur menggunakan larutan daun belimbing yang mempunyai kandungan zat tanin berperan dapat mengurangi lendir yang menghambat proses respirasi dan dapat mempercepat proses penetasan telur ikan mas.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei-Juni 2021 di Balai Benih Ikan (BBI) Mijen, Semarang, Jawa Tengah. Telur uji yang digunakan untuk penelitian berasal dari pemijahan buatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode ekperimental denga Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 Perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang dilakukan yaitu perendaman dengan larutan ekstrak daun belimbing wuluh 4ml/L selama A (0 menit), B (5 menit), C (10 menit) dan D (15 menit). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji : (1) pengaruh kualitas produk dan kualitas pelayanan serta harga terhadap loyalitas pelanggan di Kedai Kebab Turkey Telaga Mas, Karangaseem (2) pengaruh kualitas produk terhadap loyalitas pelanggan di Kedai Kebab Turkey Telaga Mas, Karangasem, (3) pengaruh kualitas pelayanan terhadap loyalitas pelanggan di Kedai Kebab Turkey Telaga Mas, Karangasem dan (4) pengaruh harga terhadap loyalitas pelanggan di Kedai Kebab Turkey Telaga Mas, Karangasem baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif kausal. Jumlah responden yang digunakan sebanyak 150 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Kualitas produk dan kualitas pelayanan serta harga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap loyalitas pelanggan . Dryopteris filix mas ( D filix-mas ) is wildly used in ethnomedicine for the management of rheumatoid arthritis, wounds and other diseases. We investigated the anti-oxidant activities of its leaf extract, and chromatographic fractions. The ethanol leaf extract was partitioned into four fractions; n-hexane, ethyl acetate, n-butanol and water. Ferric reducing anti-oxidant power (FRAP), 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil (DPPH) and nitric oxide (NO) scavenging in vitro assays were carried out on the extract and fractions at 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50, 100, 200, 400 and 800 µg/mL. The most active fraction (ethyl acetate fraction) was further purified using chromatographic techniques to isolate its major compound whose structure was elucidated using ID nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and mass spectrometry. The ethyl acetate fraction produced the highest free radical scavenging activity among the other fractions. The fraction (VLC-E7) from which the bioactive compound, quercetin-3-O-αL-rhamnopyranoside , was isolated had the best FRAP and DPPH scavenging activities with EC 50 and IC 50 values of 88.81 ± 3.41 and 26.87 ± 0.24 respectively more than the ethyl acetate fraction. This study revealed that the polyphenol flavonoid, quercetin-3-O-αL-rhamnopyranoside could be responsible for antioxidant activity of ethno-medicinal property of D filix-mas leaf.

The aim of the research was to adapt the Multidimensional Attitudes Scale Toward Persons with Disabilities (MAS) by Liora Findler, Noa Vilchinsky and Shirli Werner (2007). The accuracy of the tool was measured with the Empathetic Sensitivity Scale (SWE) by Maria Kaźmierczak, Mieczysław Plopa and Sylwiusz Retowski (2007). The study included 440 Poles without disabilities, aged 18 to 80 years. Three components of the Attitudes of Behavior α = .91, Knowledge α = .90 and Emotion α = .85 were distinguished. The components of the adapted scale coincided with the original version and their reliability was similar to those obtained by the authors of the Israeli MAS scale. As expected, significant positive correlations were revealed between the MAS Emotions and Personal Distress SWE scales, as well as negative correlations between the MAS Behavior and Knowledge indicators (items mainly negative) and the SWE Empathetic Concern and Perspective Taking indicators. It was concluded that adopted PL-MAS is a reliable and accurate tool that can be used in researching the attitudes of Poles.

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a progressive disease with a complex aetiology and high mortality. Functional and structural changes in the small pulmonary arteries lead to elevated pulmonary arterial pressure, resulting in right heart failure. The pathobiology of PAH is not fully understood, and novel treatment targets in PAH are desperately needed. The renin-angiotensin system is critical for maintaining homeostasis of the cardiovascular system. The system consists of the angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE)-angiotensin (Ang) II-angiotensin type 1 receptor (AT1R) axis and the ACE2-Ang-(1–7)-Mas receptor axis. The former, the ACE-Ang II-AT1R axis, is involved in vasoconstrictive and hypertensive actions along with cardiac and vascular remodelling. The latter, the ACE2-Ang-(1–7)-Mas axis, generally mediates counterbalancing effects against those mediated by the ACE-Ang II-AT1R axis. Based on established functions, the ACE2-Ang-(1–7)-Mas axis may represent a novel target for the treatment of PAH. This review focuses on recent advances in pulmonary circulation science and the role of the ACE2-Ang-(1–7)-Mas axis in PAH.

Tujuan penelitian menganalisis pengaruh padat tebar bervariasi terhadap kualitas air benih ikan mas dan ikan nila pada pemeliharaan sistem polikultur dalam media bioflok. Variable yang diamati pada penelitan ini adalah berat ikan, protein efisiensi pakan, efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan, kualitas air (suhu, pH, DO, amonia dan fosfat), kelangsungan hidup, pertumbuhan berat mutlak, dan laju pertumbuhan spesifik Data diolah dengan menggunakan program SPSS Versi 22 dengan Analisis (ANOVA) jika terdapat perbedaan dilanjutkan dengan Tukey HSD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan padat tebar bervariasi berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan. Perlakuan yang terbaik pada penelitian ini adalah perlakuan A: 2 ekor per liter, dengan perbandingan ikan mas dan ikan nila 7:1 (123 ekor ikan mas, 17 ekor ikan nila, dengan 15 ml bioflok/L). Kualitas air, suhu kisaran 26, 44 oC sampai dengan 27,68 oC, pH kisaran 7,4 sampai 7,9, Oksigen Terlarut kisaran 5,6 sampai dengan 7,6, amonia kisaran 0,11 sampai dengan 0,51 dan fosfat kisaran 0,15 sampai dengan 0,42 dan masih berada pada kondisi yang baik dalam budidaya ikan.

Este artículo aborda la incidencia de Estados Unidos en el ámbito de la seguridad y la defensa en Bolivia, entre 2000 y 2019, poniendo el foco en la asistencia militar y en seguridad durante los años en que gobernó el Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS): 2006-2019. Se realiza un análisis empírico a partir de metodología propia basada en la resistematización de la base de datos oficial de Estados Unidos sobre asistencia extranjera y su triangulación con otras fuentes primarias oficiales. Se concluye que, pese a los esfuerzos de Bolivia por postular una política más autónoma en el ámbito de la seguridad y la defensa, Estados Unidos logró adaptar sus políticas, por lo que se perciben importantes continuidades en la asistencia. El principal aporte de la investigación al campo del conocimiento abordado es que sienta un precedente sobre la necesidad de aplicar la triangulación de fuentes y discutir la construcción de indicadores. Abstract This paper examines the prevalence of the US on security and defense issues in Bolivia between 2000 and 2019, focusing on both security and military assistance during the governments of Movimiento al Socialismo -MAS- (2006-2019). The methodology used in this research is an empirical analysis based on the re-systematization of the official US foreign aid database, and its triangulation with other official primary sources. It is concluded that despite Bolivian efforts to strengthen its political autonomy, the US managed to adjust its policies in a way that established relevant continuity in security and defense. The main contribution of the study to the topic under discussion is to set a precedent for the need to apply source triangulation and to discuss the construction of indicators.

A small-scale intervention using the urban acupuncture method is needed that is able to solve environmental problems while also being a water catchment area in the form of a creative public space that utilizes the MRT and the many bus stop points in the Duta Mas Fatmawati area. The existence of this creative public space, of course, in addition to solving existing problems in the Duta Mas Fatmawati area, is also an attraction that can attract tourists from other areas and of course can accommodate and improve the economy of the surrounding community. Banyak ruko-ruko yang terbengkalai dan ditinggalkan oleh penghuninya. Beberapa hal yang mempengaruhi kondisi ini salah satunya adalah dibangunnya stasiun dan lintasan MRT pada tahun 2013. Pembangunan ini menyebabkan akses menjadi sulit karena banyak jalan yang harus ditutup selama proses pembangunan sehingga menimbulkan kemacetan dan sulit mendapatkan parkir. Hal ini menyebabkan minat pengunjung menjadi hilang. Setelah selesainya pembangunan MRT pun kawasan Duta Mas Fatmawati masih belum menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan. Banyak hal mempengaruhinya seperti daerah yang gersang dan kurang penghijauan, jalan yang berlubang akibat bekas pembangunan dan sering terjadi kemacetan serta banjir pada titik-titik tertentu. Diperlukan sebuah intervensi skala kecil menggunakan metode akupunktur perkotaan yang mampu menyelesaikan masalah lingkungan selain itu juga menjadi daerah resapan air yang berupa ruang publik kreatif yang memanfaatkan MRT dan banyaknya titik pemberhentian bus pada daerah Duta Mas Fatmawati. Keberadaan ruang publik kreatif ini tentunya selain menyelesaikan masalah yang ada pada kawasan Duta Mas Fatmawati juga menjadi atraktor yang dapat menarik wisatawan dari daerah lain dan tentunya dapat mewadahi dan meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat sekitar.

We have previously demonstrated the presence of Angiotensin (Ang)-(1-7) in rat ovary homogenates and its stimulatory effect on estradiol and progesterone production. The present study was undertaken to identify the cellular localization of Ang-(1-7) and its receptor Mas in the rat ovary in the different phases of the estrous cycle. Ang-(1-7) and Mas were localized by immunohistochemistry and Mas mRNA expression was assessed by RT-PCR. Immunostaining for both Ang-(1-7) and Mas was found in all phases of the estrous cycle, particularly in the thecal and interstitial cells, as well as in regressing corpora lutea. However, granulosa cells were positive only in antral and preovulatory follicles at proestrus and estrus phases. This pattern contrasted with the distribution of the octapeptide Ang II, which was abundant in granulosa but not in theca cells. In addition, the expression of Mas mRNA was demonstrated in all estrous cycle phases. Angiotensin-converting enzyme activity did not vary between estrous cycle phases, whereas prolyl endopeptidase activity was significantly higher in diestrus and neutral endopeptidase activity was significantly higher in metestrus. These data provide the first evidence that new RAS components are dynamically expressed in the ovary across the rat estrous cycle. Further functional studies should clarify the role of Ang-(1-7) signaling through Mas receptor in the regulation of ovarian physiology.

Dampak dari kegiatan digital marketing ini mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan perekonomian bagi mitra UMKM karena adanya digital marketing tersebut dengan tentu akan memperluas pangsa pasar mereka sehingga dapat dikenal masyarakat luas. Kegiatan digital marketing di UMKM Keripik Tempe “Asyiq” dan Popcorn “Mas Pop” diharapkan dapat memberi manfaat dan dapat berkelanjutan.

The hospital environment can cause suffering in health professionals because it involves direct contact with death, pain and suffering. Administrative staff, who are often in permanent contact with users, are not immune to this impact. However, studies with this population are still scarce. The present research intends to collect data on the perception of suffering and their intervening factors in administrative professionals who work in sectors related to adult patients in critical condition of a general hospital in the countryside of São Paulo. This is an exploratory, descriptive and qualitative research. Data were collected using an online form and evaluated using Bardin's content analysis technique. Employees, in general, reported a feeling of well-being, despite the prevalence of tiredness. Difficulties typical of the hospital environment, death of patients, overload, devaluation, lack of recognition and collaboration in solving tasks and communication difficulties were the main risk aspects identified for suffering. On the other hand, liking the job, seeing relevance at work, having good interpersonal relationships, performing self-care and receiving support from the institution were considered protective factors. The results may subsidize interventions in favor of the mental health of professionals.

Visual media connected with the advancement of gadget technology is increasing in specifications. Making visual media for legendary fairy tales is applied to Visual Novels. This research aims to analyze the feasibility of the needs of the Lake Toba Goldfish Legend Visual Novel Game with the Quest Preparation stage. This research is still in the needs analysis step based on the Feasibility Study stage, named Quest Preparation, which will enter the development stage. The needs analysis results determined that it has an original storyline or a happy ending. The final result of the analysis is that it has found suitability in functional requirements, storylines, boundaries, schedules, and teams. The game's development stage uses tools, namely Buildbox and a database management system with Firebase.

Tingginya minat konsumen pada ikan hias seperti ikan maskoki menyebabkan para budidaya berusaha untuk memenuhi produksi setinggi-tingginya sehingga muncul kegiatan budidaya skala besar yang diiringi dengan timbulnya masalah akibat ketidakseimbangan antara inang, lingkungan dan penyakit seperti Patogen. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian Whole Cell Lernaea sebagai bahan pengembangan imunostimulan sebagai upaya pencegahan pada serangan patogen di dalam budidaya perikanan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial yaitu faktor A adalah dosis Whole cell Lernaea yang berbeda dan faktor B yaitu lama pemeliharaan yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar glukosa darah ikan maskoki tertinggi terjadi pada perlakuan 0 ppm dihari ke-0 dengan rentang antara 53.60-87.60 mg/dL dan terendah pada perlakuan 5 ppm di hari ke-21 dengan rentang antara 44.20-86.60 mg/dL. Infestasi ektoparasit Ichthyobodo spp. terjadi dihari ke 0 dan 14 dengan dosis 0 ppm yaitu sekitar 2-3 ind/ekor berbeda dengan pemberian dosis 5 ppm selama pemeliharan 21 hari tidak terdapat kasus Ikan Maskoki yang terserang Ektoparasit. Terdapat interaksi antara dosis dan lama pemeliharaan terhadap kadar glukosa darah ikan maskoki yang diberi suspensi Whole cell lernaea sedangkan tidak terdapat interaksi pada infestasi ektoparasit flagellta. Perlakuan terbaik untuk menurunkan kadar glukosa darah menjadi normal yaitu pemberian suspense Whole Cell Lernaea dengan dosis 5 ppm dan waktu pemeliharaan 21 hari.

Esta contribución, titulada “Más allá de la educación basada en la conciencia”, se realiza desde el marco de la dialéctica educación y conciencia. El objetivo es ofrecer razones incluyan y vayan más allá de la educación basada en la conciencia. Se intenta dar respuesta al objetivo desde un ensayo desarrollado desde el enfoque radical e inclusivo de la educación. La contribución se detiene en cuatro contenidos: esta breve introducción, el enfoque radical e inclusivo de la educación, algunas teorías sobre la conciencia y algunas conclusiones más allá de la educación basada en la conciencia.

Resumo Hipertensão arterial (HA) no póstransplante renal (TXR) se correlaciona com piores desfechos cardiovasculares e renais, com perda de função renal, diminuição da sobrevida do enxerto e maior mortalidade. Receptores de TXR apresentam valores discrepantes de pressão arterial (PA) quando ela é obtida em consultório ou por metodologias sistematizadas, como a Monitorização Ambulatorial da PA (MAPA), com prevalências significantes de ausência de descenso noturno ou hipertensão noturna, hipertensão do avental branco e hipertensão mascarada. O objetivo do presente estudo foi rever a temática da hipertensão no TXR, abordando sua fisiopatologia multifatorial e demonstrando a importância da MAPA como ferramenta de acompanhamento da PA nesses pacientes. O tratamento é baseado em mudanças no estilo de vida e em fármacos anti-hipertensivos, sendo os bloqueadores de canais de cálcio considerados de primeira linha. A melhor meta pressórica e o tratamento com desfechos mais favoráveis no TXR ainda estão por ser determinados, por meio de estudos bem conduzidos cientificamente, ou seja, em termos de HA no TXR temos atualmente mais questões a responder do que respostas a dar.

Image is an important element for the institution as a reflection of the institution's quality in the eyes of the community. Part of the institution that functions to form an image is public relations (PR). This study aims to explain the role of public relations in improving the image of Islamic universities in Central Java. The two universities selected as research objects are UIN (Universitas Islam Negeri) Raden Mas Said Surakarta and UIN Saifuddin Zuhri Purwokerto. The two institutions transformed IAIN (Institut Agama Islam Negeri) into UIN in 2021. The research approach used was qualitative. This study resulted that the two universities functioned in public relations to improve the institution's image. In addition, public relations also performed as a means of da'wah, considering that both universities are Islamic religious colleges.

En este artículo realizamos un recorrido por las ideas, las políticas y las prácticas militantes definidas hacia el movimiento de mujeres por el Partido Socialista de los Trabajadores (PST) (1972-1982) renombrado como Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS) en 1982, ambas denominaciones, expresiones de la corriente trotskista liderada por Nahuel Moreno. El objetivo es describir la evolución de los debates y líneas políticas conectando la experiencia con la circulación de ideas en el marco de la IV Internacional. Consideramos esa influencia un factor decisivo para comprender el abordaje temprano de las ideas y temas propios del feminismo de la segunda ola. Asimismo, buscamos demostrar que el cruce entre los enfoques feministas y de clase planteó tensiones que las llevó a recortar el abordaje de la opresión femenina sobre las trabajadoras. Esa tensión también las condujo a rechazar la propuesta de conformar una agrupación de mujeres, decisión que operó en favor de una debilitación de la militancia específica.

O trabalho tem por objetivo investigar o papel da distopia no imaginário contemporâneo, com foco na minissérie Years and Years. De forma específica, pretendemos pensar de que maneira a obra materializa o imaginário político atual. A hipótese é que este tipo de distopia se tornou um traço distintivo forte na narrativa audiovisual. A metodologia a ser utilizada é a análise de conteúdo qualitativa (BARDIN, 2000), aliada a uma adaptação da análise fílmica de conteúdo proposta por Penafria (2009). Tomamos “imaginário” a partir de Maffesoli (2001) e, para compreensão do imaginário político, utilizaremos as “constelações mitológicas” propostas por Girardet (1987), a saber: A Conspiração; O Salvador; A Idade de Ouro e A Unidade. A partir daí, estabelecemos categorias mais específicas que definem esse imaginário político que denominamos: Os Presidentes Eternos, A Idade das Trevas e Os Estrangeiros, que dialogam com as categorias de Girardet, mas também vão além.

The golden snail is one of the pests that damage rice plants, this pest has the ability to reproduce quickly, causing the golden snail to become one of the main pests in lowland rice. But the golden snail can be used as a basic material for liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) because it contains protein, Azotobacter, Azospirillum, phosphate solubilizing microbes, Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus, enzymes and the hormone auxin. The effectiveness of the golden snail LOF has been tested on several agricultural crops, one of which is rice. In the Podo Tentrem Farmers Group, these pests are simply thrown away and have not been utilized properly. Whereas the potential of this golden snail can be very high if it is processed into organic fertilizer. Therefore, with this community service activity, it is hoped that it can improve competence, skills and increase the production output of the Podo Tentrem farmer group. This can be measured by the enthusiasm of the participants who were attended by 100% of the invitees, besides that the participants also knew the stages of work and succeeded in making Keong Mas LOF well. In addition, other assessment indicators are using quantitative data on pre-test and post-test scores. Before the counseling was carried out, the pretest value was 50 and after the knowledge training, it increased with an average post-test score of 76. These results can indicate that in theory and practice, on average, participants understand and can make golden snail LOF.

Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan desain penelitian eksperimental yang bertujuan untuk mencari pengaruh pembelajaran koperatif: Teknik Give One, Take One terhadap pencapaian menulis teks deskriptif. Sebanyak 52 siswa kelas X MAS Al Washliyah 29 Binjai pada semester ganjiltahun ajaran 2021/2022 diambil sebagai sampel penelitian. Peneliti membuat instrumen; yaitu pre-test dan post-test. Peneliti memberikan tiga macam judul. Peneliti meminta siswa untuk memilih hanya satu judul yang diberikan. Mereka menulis teks deskriptif yang terdiri dari sekitar 50 kata dalam waktu sekitar 45 menit. Data akhir kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis Paired-Samples T Test menunjukkan bahwa signifikansi (sig) nilai 2-tailed 0.000000 lebih rendah dari taraf signifikansi (0.05) dan ditentukan bahwa koefisien thitung adalah 13.901 yang berarti lebih tinggi dari koefisien ttabel (2.05954) dengan taraf signifikansi (α) = 0.025 (2-tailed) dengan derajat kebebasan (df) = 25. Artinya ada pengaruh pembelajaran koperatif: Teknik Give One, Take One terhadap pencapaian menulis teks deskriptif pada siswa kelas X MAS Al Washliyah 29 Binjai pada semester ganjiltahun ajaran 2021/2022. Dengan demikian Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak.

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh word of mouthdan digital marketing terhadap keputusan nasabah menggadaikan emas pada Gadai MAS Unit Lenteng baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian merupakan seluruh nasabah Gadai MAS Unit Lenteng sedangkan sampel penelitian sebanyak 130 orang dengan menggunakan teknik sampling accidental dalam jangka waktu selama 1 (satu) bulan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Uji korelasi dalam penelitian ini meliputi uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Word of mouth secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan gadai;(2) Digital marketing secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan gadai; (3) Word of mouth dan digital marketing secara simultan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan gadai; (4) Word of mouth adalah variabel yang berpengaruh dominan terhadap keputusan gadai; (5) Nilai koefisien determinan dalam penelitian ini sebesar 0.494 atau 49,4%

Ikan mas (Cyprinus carpio) merupakan salah satu spesies ikan yang hidup di air tawar dan mempunyai peluang pengembangan budidaya besar untuk meraih potensi pasar yang terus meningkat dan bernilai ekonomi yang tinggi. Penambahan ekstrak daun jambu biji diduga mengandung metabolit sekunder flavonoid, tanin, alkaloid, steroid dan saponin.Daun jambu biji mengandung alkaloid, terpenoid, glikosida, tanin, dan flavonoid yang memiliki aktivitas antidiabetes dan memiliki tinggi antioksidan. Kandungan lainnya yaitu minyak lemak 6% dan minyak atsiri 0,4%, damar 3%, tanin 9% dan lainnya.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun jambu biji terhadap hemoglobin dan kelulushidupan benih dan mengetahui dosis terbaik ekstrak daun jambu. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Agustus-September 2021 di Balai Benih Ikan (BBI) Mijen, Semarang, Jawa Tengah. Bahan uji yang digunakan adalah larutan teh dan telur ikan nila yang berasal dari BBI Mijen, Semarang. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan masing-masing 3 ulangan, perlakuan A (0%), B ( 0,10%), C (0,20%), D (0,30%). Data yang diamati adalah hemoglobin darah, Kelulushidupan kualitas air, lama waktu pingsan dan lama waktu pulih.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun jambu biji pada saat proses transportasi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap perubahan nilai hemoglobin dan kelulushidupan benih ikan mas. Nilai selisih perubahan hemoglobin pada perlakuan 0%; 0,1%; 0,2%; dan 0,3% sebesar 1,37 ± 1,48 gr/ dL; -0,87 ± 3,19 gr/ dL; 3,57 ± 1,88 gr/ dL; dan 4,73 ± 2,57 gr/ dL serta nilai kelulushidupan sebesar 90,67 ± 2,31%; 94,00 ± 4,00%; 94,67 ± 2,31% dan; 95,33 ± 3,06%. Benih pada perlakuan 0,2% dan 0,3% mulai menunjukkan efek lemas dan pingsan serta lambatnya pergerakan operkulum pada menit ke-5 hingga 10. Perlakuan 0,1% menunjukkan ikan pulih pada menit ke-10.

Cornus mas L. (Cornaceae) and Rosa canina (Rosaceae) are plant species growing in Turkey naturally. The fruits of both plants are rich in anthocyanins, phenolics and vitamins and used for production of traditional foods such as syrup, juices, jam and marmalade. The antimicrobial activity and some bioactive contents of extracts obtained from fresh and dried fruits of C. mas and R. canina were investigated in this study. Also, as a result of GC-MS analysis of fresh and dried fruit extracts of C. mas and R. canina, varying numbers of fatty asits were determined. The major fatty asits in the extracts of both species were determined as varying proportions of palmitic, oleic and linoleic asit. Bioactive substance contents and antimicrobial activities were varied according to the extraction method. The methanolic extraction (dried fruits) so was more productive than that of water (fresh fruits). Antimicrobial activities of the plant samples were tested by well diffusion assay using 8 bacteria and one yeast. According to the results, both of the plant samples showed an inhibition on whole test microorganisms in varying range but B. subtilis and MRSA.

Pelayanan Kesehatan Puskesmas adalah upaya yang diberikan Puskesmas kepada masyarakat, meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi, pencatatan, dan pelaporan yang dituangkan dalam suatu sistem. Tahap akhir Manajemen Puskesmas adalah Pengawasan, Pengendalian, dan Penilaian (P3), yaitu tahap pemantauan kemajuan, melakukan koreksi terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan, dan menilai pencapaian kegiatan dengan melakukan Penilaian Kinerja Puskesmas (PKP). Penilaian kinerja ini dilakukan oleh internal puskesmas (self-assessment). Kegiatan pengolahan data PKP di Puskesmas Sukorame Kota Kediri belum sepenuhnya dilaksanakan sesuai Pedoman PKP Dinas Kesehatan Jawa Timur tahun 2021. Pelaksanaan pengolahan data di Puskesmas Sukorame Kota Kediri masih dilakukan oleh Penanggung Jawab Penilaian Kinerja Puskesmas (PKP), sehingga masih terkendala dalam pelaporan tepat waktu. Sehingga diperlukan konsep dan sistem kebijakan dan manajemen pelayanan kesehatan dalam mengolah data Penilaian Kinerja Puskesmas (PKP) di Puskesmas Sukorame Kota Kediri. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengolahan data PKP adalah dengan membuat aplikasi Google Spreadsheet “Si Laki Mas Deon” (Aplikasi Laporan Kinerja Puskesmas Dengan Online) yang diterapkan di Puskesmas Sukorame Kota Kediri. Hasil penerapan Silaki Mas Deon (Aplikasi Laporan Kinerja Puskesmas Online) sangat baik sebagai konsep dan sistem kebijakan dan sistem manajemen pelayanan kesehatan dalam pengolahan data Penilaian Kinerja Puskesmas (PKP) di Puskesmas Sukorame Pusat, Kota Kediri.

In this study, it was aimed to make a breakfast spreadable Cornelian cherry nectar similar to marmalade. Lactiplantibacillus plantarum DA100 strain, which has potential probiotic properties, was added to this nectar. It was investigated whether this strain has an effect on various sensory properties of nectar. In the study, sensory and various chemical properties of nectar produced without probiotic microorganism were determined. Since the breakfast spreadable Cornelian cherry nectar produced in our study was not exposed to high temperatures for a long time, a very low HMF of 4.290 mg/kg was determined. Vitamin C was determined as 716.800 mg/L and total phenolic content was determined as 3156.64 mg GAE/100g. In the probiotic group, the microorganism viability, which was 1.5×1010 Log CFU/mL initially, was determined below approximately 1.5×106 Log CFU/mL at the end of 5 days. In addition, coliform bacteria and E. coli were not detected in any group during this period. Contrary to the texture score, the difference between the sensory evaluation results of the probiotic-added and the control group of breakfast spreadable Cornelian cherry nectar was significant in taste, bitterness, odor and sourness. An alternative to jams and marmalades, rich in vitamin C and phenolic content, limited HMF production, and a functional product with low sugar content were tried to be obtained, and when the results obtained are evaluated, the product is thought to be promising.

A promising direction for improving the procedure of standardization of multicomponent phytoremedies is the use of so-called marker compounds, or markers – substances whose presence is characteristic only for individual medicinal raw materials. The introduction of methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis based on the use of markers is not only of great practical importance, but also of significant scientific expediency. One of the most common components used to make complex herbal collections are the flowers of medicinal plants, which are successfully used in medical practice both in the form of mono preparations and in the form of components of over-the-counter medicinal product of herbal origin. The pharmacological activity of the flowers of marigolds is due to the presence in their composition of a complex of biologically active substances, in particular essential oils, the content of which is associated with such pharmacological properties of the plant as bactericidal, antioxidant, etc. That is why it was considered expedient to search on markers for plant standardization in mixtures among essential oil components. The aim of the work was to study the components of the essential oil of calendula flowers (Calendula officinalis L.) by the method of gas chromatography with mass detection The object of the study was marigold flowers in packs of 50 g (CJSC «Liktravy», series 80310). The study of volatile components was carried out using the method of gas chromatography with mass detection. Chromatographic study of the studied extracts was carried out on an Agilent 6890 gas chromatograph equipped with a mass spectrometric detector (model 5973). The identification of the studied components was carried out by mass spectra and the retention time of the components. As a result of the conducted research, using library spectra, 59 volatile components were identified in the extract of the flowers of Calendula officinalis L., 50 were recognized: monocyclic and bicyclic monoterpenoids, sesquiterpenoids, sesquiterpene alcohols, etc. The major volatile components of flowers of Calendula officinalis L. are the following substances: α-cadinol, δ-cadinene, α-muurolol and epi-α-cadinol, the content of which is equal to 417.2 mg/kg, 284.2 mg/kg, 92.4 mg/kg and 75.7 mg/kg of raw material, respectively. The total content of all four major volatile compounds of the flowers of Calendula officinalis L. is 44.14% of the total amount of volatile compounds found in the object of research.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui manfaat, pengaruh Tax Amnesty dan perlakuan akuntansi sesuai Tax Amnesty yang diterapkan oleh Wajib Pajak badan. Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif dan menggunakan dasar undang-undang perpajakan pasal 11 tahun 2016 alat analisis. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa manfaat dan keuntungan Tax Amnesty bagi Wajib Pajak Badan adalah penghapusan sanksi administrasi, tidak dilakukan pemeriksaan pajak, dan penghapusan pajak penghasilan final. yaitu pajak bumi dan bangunan.

In the field of General Surgery AA is the frequent clinical condition for which patients who need emergency surgery present with abdominal pain.1 Diagnosis of this pathology is made with the help of history, patient symptoms, and clinical exam and lab investigations. Ultrasonography (USG) and computed tomography (CT) images for acute appendicitis should be considered.2 Methodology: The purpose of the study is to compare the diagnostic accuracy of Modified Alvarado Score (MAS) and Ohmann Scores (OS) in diagnosing the pathology of Acute Appendicitis, while retaining histopathology as the basis for final diagnosis. A total of 411 patients were admitted via the Accidents & Emergency Department of Mayo Hospital Lahore, meeting the inclusion and exclusion requirements having the clinical diagnosis of acute appendicitis. For each patient, both Modified Alvarado and Ohmann scores were assessed prior to undergoing the procedure, i.e. open appendectomy. Abdominopelvic assessments and laboratory results were assessed and abdominal USG was performed in all patients. Biopsy of the removed appendix was sent for histopathology to Pathology Department of King Edward Medical University. Results: For the modified Alvarado and Ohmann score; sensitivity and specificity of was 89.74%, 90.48%, 85.13% and 80.95% respectively. The positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) for “modified Alvarado score” was 99.43% and 32.2% and for “Ohmann score” it was 98.81% and 22.67% respectively. Conclusion: Both scoring system are sensitive and specific enough for diagnosis of acute appendicitis. However, sensitivity and specificity of modified Alvarado score is higher as compared to Ohmann score. O estudo tem por objetivo analisar as discursividades produzidas pelos(as) usuários(as) do aplicativo Grindr, este usado principalmente por homens em busca de relações, sobretudo sexuais, com homens. A pesquisa foi realizada no período de setembro de 2021 a julho de 2022, em Campo Grande, MS. Assim, apoiando-se nos amplos processos pedagógicos provenientes dos discursos circulantes no Grindr, vemos este como sendo um artefato abundante em conteúdo. A intenção, a partir desse conhecimento, foi de estar no aplicativo para compreender o que se aprende, ensina, descobre e transforma ao se entender as dinâmicas que medeiam as discursividades no Grindr enquanto estratégias que se disseminam por meio dos discursos. Para tal, criamos uma conta gratuita para obtenção de prints, e, a partir desses, foi possível observar três dimensões pedagógicas presentes nas discursividades. Dessas, a primeira faz menção às dinâmicas do cancelamento, que perpassa todas as dimensões; a segunda revela a masculinidade hegemônica marcada pela discrição, pelo sigilo e pelo homem com jeito de homem que converge à norma. Por fim, a terceira dimensão alcança as rupturas presentes nas discursividades contra-hegemônicas, dissidentes à norma.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali dan mendeskripsikan kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh KAS, KA dan AAL pada saat menulis awal. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus yang mengutamakan pengumpulan data dengan observasi dan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subjek yang dipilih sebanyak tiga orang melalui pengamatan dan observasi dengan kriteria: (1) Anak kelompok B yang berusia 6 tahun , (2) mengalami kesulitan dalam menulis awal (3) mengalami keterlambatan perkembangan motorik, serta 3 orang tua siswa, guru serta kepala sekolah yang diwawancarai. Dari hasil penelitian, menunjukan bahwa KAS, KA dan AAL mengalami kesulitan menulis awal berupa kesulitan menyalin, menebalkan, menjiplak dan melengkapi huruf, kata, angka, gambar atau simbol; kesulitan memahami perintah; mewarnai dan mengungkapkan kesulitan-kesulitan yang dihadapi pada saat menulis. Kesulitan tersebut disebabkan kaena belum berkembangnya motorik halus dengan optimal. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan kemampuan kognitf, bahasa, sosial & emosional dan psikomotoriknya belum berkembang dengan optimal. Bentuk latihan yang telah diberikan oleh guru untuk mengembangkan kemampuan menulis awal KAS, KA dan AAL, seperti: memegang secara langsung tangan KAS, KA dan AAL, aktivitas menggunakan papan tulis; pemberian tugas tambahan untuk dikerjakan di rumah. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut guru dapat merancang program khusus dan melakukan pembelajaran remediadi bagi anak yang belum mencapai ketuntasan belajar.

The concept of Quality Management is very developed and widely applied, especially in the world of education, an educational management approach has developed, namely Total Quality Management (TQM). The aims of this study were to determine: (1) the implementation of the TQM program at MAS Darul Aitami Aceh Selatan to improve the quality of education; (2) efforts made by madrasah principals in implementing TQM; and (3) inhibiting factors in TQM implementation. Data collection techniques through: observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The research subjects included madrasah principals, educators, and education staff. Data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed: (1) TQM implementation in improving the quality of education includes the implementation of curriculum management, teacher and staff management, student management, madrasah relationship management with the community, and madrasah climate management. (2) Efforts made include: having a strong commitment and will and continuing to strive for quality improvement and working based on quality, increasing teacher professionalism and competence, compiling and planning madrasah programs, empowering madrasah resources to the maximum, providing educational facilities and infrastructure , improve teacher welfare, conduct guidance and enrichment programs for student learning, develop religious culture in madrasah, establish cooperation with madrasah committees.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi khususnya pada pembelajaran bioteknologi di tingkat SMA. Metodologi pada penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, catatan lapangan dan wawancara. Populasi maupun sampel yang digunakan yaitu siswa/i SMA Kelas XII di MAS AL-MANAR Pulo Raja, dengan jumlah 20 orang. Hasil penelitian ini mendapatkan pemahaman siswa dalam kategori sedang.

The analysis method uses 3 priorities to include targets of demand, production costs and profit with an overall goal with the function . Analysis using the methods of Linear Trend Regression and Goal Programming. Based on the results of the study, forecasting demand in 2021 amounted to 2281 pairs. Function cannot achieve the target demand with an optimum solution of 418,930 pairs, while the Min Z = d_4 ^ + function can achieve the target production cost with an optimum solution of Rp. 765,046,918 and function Can achieve the profit target with an optimum solution of Rp. 454,923,577

Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) merupakan salah satu pilar utama perekonomian Indonesia dan sebagai pengerak pertumbuhan perenokomian. Desa Klangon memiliki icon sebagai penghasil tanaman porang terbesar di Jawa Timur akan tetapi untuk memanen hasil tanaman porang tersebut petani porang harus menunggu kurang lebih 3(tiga) tahun sehingga hal tersebut menjadikan alasan kuat masyarakat Desa Klangon untuk mengembangkan usaha rumahan atau UMKM untuk menunjang kebutuhan sehari-hari. Salah satunya yaitu UMKM Carang Mas “Bu Yanti” melalui program pendampingan berupa manajemen usaha UMKM Carang Mas “Bu Yanti” diharapkan mampu memperluas jejaring pemasaran, meningkatkan kepercayaan sehingga mewujudkan kemandirian berkembang bagi UMKM, serta sebagai salah satu UMKM unggulan Desa Klangon. Hasil pelaksanaan dalam kegiatan ini penilaian kemampuan mitra yaitu mampu menerapkan strategi manajemen usaha yang baik pada saat pelatihan maupun pendampingan yang dilakukan.

This research was conducted to the eleventh grade students of of MAS Darul Al Muhajirin in the academic year 2021/2022. This was an experimental research which used two group pre-test and post-test designs. The sample of research was 40 divided by two classes, XI-MIPA 2 as experimental class and XI-MIPA 1 as control class. This research was conducted to know the positive effect of using ELSA Speak Application on students’ speaking ability. Based on the students’ problems such as students worked hard to produce the English expression, students pronounced the words of the expression in inexact way, student used wrong intonation and stress in sounding the English expression. Having analyzed the data of pre-test and post-test by using t-test, from the result of calculation, it was obtained the value of the t-test was 10,619. The degree of freedom is 38 (df = because there was not df 38 in the t-table, so the writers decide to use df 40 since it was closer to 38 that df 30. The table at df 40 showed that the value of t-table ( was 2,02 for 5% and 2,70 for 1%. This result meant that the value of t-test was not appropriate with the criteria of acceptance of Ho, because the fact showed the value of t-test was higher than t-table (2,02 < 10,619 > 2,70). So, from that explanation, writers concluded that null hypothesis was rejected and alternative hypothesis was accepted. Hence, hypothesis stated that there was a significant effect of using ELSA (English Language Speech Assistant) Speak Application on students’ speaking ability for the eleventh grade of MAS Darul Al Muhajirin in the academic year 2021/2022.

The research analysis aims to determine whether supervision, leadership, and compensation simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on employee engagement at PT Prima Mas Indonesia. The data analysis technique used is the associative method with the help of the SPSS version 16.0 program. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis. The sample in this study was 42 respondents. Primary data collection using a questionnaire. The results showed that partial supervision had a positive and significant effect on employee engagement at PT Prima Mas Indonesia, where tcount 2.364 > ttable 2.024 and significant 0.011 ttable 2,024 and significant 0,011 < 0,05. Compensation partially has a positive and significant effect on employee engagement at PT Prima Mas Indonesia, where tcount 2.837 > ttable 2.024 and significant 0.007 Ftable 2.85 and significant 0.000

New findings What is the central question of this study? What are the effects of the antifibrotic peptide acetyl-seryl-aspartyl-lysyl-proline (Ac-SDKP) on the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2)-angiotensin-(1-7)-Mas axis during the occurrence and progression of silicosis? What is the main finding and its importance? Ac-SDKP inhibited lung fibrosis in rats exposed to silica by activation of the ACE2-angiotensin-(1-7)-Mas axis. Angiotensin-(1-7) potentially promotes Ac-SDKP by increasing the level of meprin α, the major synthetase of Ac-SDKP. Thus, the interaction Ac-SDKP and angiotesin-(1-7) in silicosis could provide a new therapeutic strategy. Abstract The central role of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) in the occurrence and progression of silicosis has been established. The antifibrotic peptide acetyl-seryl-aspartyl-lysyl-proline (Ac-SDKP) can be degraded by ACE. The ACE2-angiotensin-(1-7)-Mas axis is protective and acts to counterbalance the detrimental effects of ACE-angiotensin II (Ang II)-Ang II type 1 receptor and exerts antifibrotic effects. Here, we demonstrate an interaction between Ac-SDKP and Ang-(1-7) in the inhibition of collagen deposition and myofibroblast differentiation in rats exposed to silica. Treatment with Ac-SDKP increased the level of ACE2-Ang-(1-7)-Mas in rats or in cultured fibroblasts and decreased the levels of collagen type I and α-smooth muscle actin. Furthermore, exogenous Ang-(1-7) had similar antifibrotic effects and increased the level of meprin α, a major Ac-SDKP synthetase, both in vivo and in vitro. Compared with non-silicotic patients exposed to silica, the level of serum ACE was increased in patients with silicosis phase III; the levels of Ang II and Ang-(1-7) were high in patients with silicosis phase II; and the level of Ac-SDKP was high in the silicosis phase III group. These data imply that Ac-SDKP and Ang-(1-7) have an interactive effect as regulatory peptides of the renin-angiotensin system and exert antifibrotic effects.

We recently showed that the antiobese efficacy of the AT1 receptor blocker telmisartan (TEL) is at least partially related to an Ang(1-7)-dependent mechanism. Ang(1-7) acts via Mas, thus raising the question of whether Mas-deficient (Mas-ko) mice are likewise predisposed to develop diet-induced obesity and, further, whether this can be prevented by TEL treatment. Mas-ko mice and FVB/N wild-type (wt) animals were treated with TEL (8 mg/kg/day) or vehicle while they were fed with high-fat diet (HFD) or chow. Mice were phenotyped regarding body weight, fat mass, insulin sensitivity, and leptin sensitivity. In response to HFD feeding, gain in body weight and impairment of leptin sensitivity were similar between wt and Mas-ko mice. TEL reduced body weight in both strains but effects were stronger in Mas-ko mice. TEL diminished fat mass and restored leptin sensitivity only in Mas-ko mice. Blood glucose was higher in wt than Mas-ko mice fed with HFD while not differing when they were fed with chow. Insulin challenge confirmed that wt mice became insulin resistant when fed with HFD while HFD feeding did not impair insulin sensitivity in Mas-ko mice. TEL had no further effect. Our findings on the influence of TEL on growth and metabolism in Mas-ko mice conflict with our previous findings in rats. We assume that the FVB/N background of the mice may partly explain these inconsistent data. Moreover, it also seems feasible that the MrgD receptor compensates for Mas deficiency.

The renin-angiotensin system (RAS) helps to regulate cardiovascular function, the maintenance of electrolyte and fluid balance, and blood pressure. The RAS contains two axes; the angiotensin-converting enzyme/angiotensin II/Ang II type 1 receptors (ACE/Ang II/AT1) classic axis, which has a role in regulating blood pressure, vascular oxidative stress, coagulation, and cellular proliferation. The other is the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2/angiotensin-(1-7)/Mas receptors (ACE2/Ang-(1-7)/Mas) axis, which can inhibit the former axis, improve fat metabolism, reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, and enhance glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity. The ACE2/Ang-(1-7)/Mas axis is found in blood vessels, kidneys, liver, pancreas and the brain. It can protect the body from abnormalities in glucose metabolism. The ACE2/Ang-(1-7)/Mas axis can enhance glucose tolerance and improve insulin sensitivity by protecting pancreatic β cells, increasing insulin secretion, improving glucose metabolism in adipose tissue, enhancing glucose uptake by skeletal muscle, and inhibiting hepatic gluconeogenesis. This article reviews the main characteristics and functions of the ACE2/Ang-(1-7)/Mas axis and its regulation of glucose metabolism in order to demonstrate its potential as a target for the treatment of metabolic diseases such as diabetes.
