Due to its irregular structure, the efficiency of the pelletized fibrous filter can be improved if the target substance is line-shaped. Thus, this study was conducted to examine the applications of the pelletized fibrous filter for biological sewage water with line-shaped particles. Towards this end, the pelletized fibrous filter was applied to advanced treatments in which the particles in the sewage water in the supernatant using solid-liquid separation from the final-settling reservoir was filtered with pelletized fibrous filters. To determine the process efficiency of the filter device, a multiparameter water quality analyzer and a data transmission system were established, which showed the efficient process even at a large distance, as well as the good operational status of the filter device. The pilot plant operation results showed that the concentration of TSS in the influent at 20-75 mg/L was reduced to 0.4-10 mg/L in the processed water. The average processing efficiency was 94.9% between 71.4 and 97.9%, and particularly, that of the suspended solids was very high. The results also showed that 27.2% CODMn, 22.5% T-N, and 30.0% T-P were removed.

In the study of the frequency domain crosstalk for twisted pair, the traditional alternating inversion model is often built under the ideal condition of lossless and uniform media, ignoring the length of the twisted section. This paper focuses on the impact of these non-ideal conditions on crosstalk, applying the cascaded transmission line theory of Paul and McKnight to predict near-end crosstalk (NEXT) of two pairs of twisted wire pair (TWP) which are placed above a perfectly conducting ground or in a cylindrical ideal conductive shell. This paper put forward the non-uniform-media layered connection method (NLCM) to solve the parasitic parameter matrix, taking two layers as an example. Based on the deduced chain parameter matrix and boundary conditions, the exact crosstalk solution is obtained. All theories in this paper are of great significance to the EMC design of high-speed data transmission systems, providing the theoretical support for predicting NEXT within each device or system.

With the development and application of the communication system based on Beidou short message, how to ensure the accuracy of the transmission information is one of the research hotspots in recent years. This paper introduces several existing error correction technologies for audio and video communication information transmission, which can be summarized into three categories: automatic repeat request technology, forward error correction technology and hybrid error correction technology, and analyzes the design principle, practical application performance, advantages and disadvantages of each technology. This paper provides reference for the design of error correction part of audio and video information transmission system based on short message communication.

The paper describes the problems of assessing the quality of intelligent transport systems related to organizational and technical systems based on the system analysis of information technologies. It provides the theoretical basis for describing the quality assessment process of intelligent transport systems. The paper also justifies the method of quality assessment of complex systems, which include intelligent transport systems. It is shown that the modern system of intelligent systems should not only be effective, but also not violate the required operation mode. The characteristic evaluating the effect of the target functioning has the properties of measurability, completeness and reliability. The intelligent transport systems may include systems that in the process of control ensure the achievement of set targets with the necessary quality of target functioning in a counteracting environment. In order for the system to function correctly, it is necessary to agree on a set of targets and a set of conditions, i.e. to implement an integrated approach to the functioning of the system as a whole. With an integrated approach it is necessary to agree on all the targets set for the system, as well as all the conditions under which it will operate.

This paper is a research on the possibility of forming an ensemble of orthogonal signals, which provides an approach to the maximum possible values of the transmission rate of, messages over Gaussian communication channels and its energy efficiency without the use of noise-resistant coding. The object of a study was a three-dimensional surface-spherical ensemble of eighteen signal points. A spatial signal diagram, idealized waveforms of summary signal and partial signals at subcarrier frequencies were examined to find out the possible problems that stand on the way of implementation of hyperphase modulation technology. An assessment of the prospects for the use of hyperphase modulation in typical data transmission systems, including satellite based are outlined in this paper.

The relative change of in-situ stress is an inevitable outcome of differential movement among the crust plates. Conversely, changes of in-situ stress can also lead to deformation and instability of crustal rock mass, trigger activity of faults, and induce earthquakes. Hence, monitoring real-time change of in-situ stress is of great significance. Piezomagnetic in-situ stress monitoring has good and longtime applications in large engineering constructions and geoscience study fields in China. In this paper, the new piezomagnetic in-situ stress monitoring system is introduced and it not only has overall improvements in measuring cell's structure and property, stressing and orienting way, but also enhances integration and intelligence of control and data transmission system, in general, which greatly promotes installing efficiency of measuring probe and quality of monitoring data. This paper also discusses the responses of new piezomagnetic system in large earthquake events of in-situ stress monitoring station at Qiaoqi of Baoxing and Wenxian of Gansu. The monitoring data reflect adjustments and changes of tectonic stress field at the southwestern segment of and the northern area near the Longmenshan fault zone, which shows that the new system has a good performance and application prospect in the geoscience field. Data of the Qiaoqi stress-monitoring station manifest that the Lushan Earthquake did not release stress of the southwestern segment of the Longmenshan fault zone adequately and there still probably exists seismic risk in this region in the future. Combined with absolute in-situ stress measurement, carrying out long-term in-situ stress monitoring in typical tectonic position of important regions is of great importance for researchers to assess and study regional crust stability.

In this research, a wireless remote environmental monitoring system is presented, which is designed for government to monitor the parameters of environment in factories. The system could collect data related to environment and transfer them by GPRS or Ethernet if condition is allowed. This paper elaborates the system by the order of “analyze-design-realize”. The embedded system is introduced. After some discussion, we chose ARMS based S3C2410 as microprocessor, Linux as the operation system. Then overall design solution and framework of the system is proposed. Finally, this paper gives the test experiment in the factories. The experiment results demonstrate the feasibility and stability of the system.

Retracted paper: Galvanic coupling method has been observed to be the best method for data transmission in intra-body communication, which is proposed by Zimmerman in 1995. With the increasing transmission requirements and the development of optical fiber communication, a high speed data transmission system is required and it is possible to design an apparatus to realize the electro optic conversion. In this paper, the characteristics of the intra-body communication system are introduced. Principles and structures of the electro-optic modulation methods for intra-body communication are reviewed. Internal and external modulation methods are introduced and discussed. A system of the electro-optic and acousto-optic modulation are recommended for the intra-body communication system and discussed.

As an expendable profiler in marine environment, XCP (Expendable Current Profiler) is mainly to measure current speed, direction and temperature. The paper is to research dynamic sinking data transmission technique for XCP. Data transmission medium is a varnished wire with diameter of 0.1mm, length of 1,800m and two parallel wires. Transmission characteristics of varnished wires can be tested by experiment and computation. The paper is to research and design a kind of base band transmission system and analyze its characteristics and performance. By utilizing digital base band signaling transmission technique, indoor and marine testing results show that designed data transmission system can reach 1,800m on varnished wires with diameter of 0.1mm if XCP probe sinks dynamically by speed of 4m/s and transmission speed is 2,400bps.

The development of technological image capturing and data transmission systems has made it possible for authorities to use more developed ways to attain more detailed situation information. Real-time video offers numerous possibilities to authorities, especially in rescue services. Situation information acquired through real-time video can for example make the production of rescue service officers' situation picture more efficient and accurate. Real-time video also serves distance leading exceptionally well and makes decision-making a lot easier because of more accurate situation information. This paper is reporting the results of a Thesis conducted in cooperation between Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Emergency Services College, Eye Solutions Ltd. and VideoDrone Ltd. as part of the AIRBorne information for Emergency situation Awareness and Monitoring (AIRBEAM) project. The paper evaluates and discusses the suitability of situation information produced by real-time video to the officer in charge of rescue services. The paper ultimately attempts to understand real-time video in rescue services as a phenomenon, which possibilities are not yet utilized. The paper is defined to focus on different levels of rescue service leading and addresses three real-time video production sources.

Intrabody communication (IBC) is a novel data transmission method to transmit the data using human body as a transmission channel. In this paper we have taken efforts to develop a methodology for IBC. The IBC will play a vital role for the data transmission through the human body. The idea is driven from the vision of a cable free secure data transmission system. This paper examines the data transmission between the two mobile devices for the different conditions, different distances, different modes, IBC transceiver design and the practical uses in future.

The object of research is the military radio communication system. Effective operation of routing protocols is possible only if there is reliable information about the network topology for network nodes, given that the mobility of individual nodes is insignificant in special purpose wireless networks. Because nodes in the network demonstrate the mobility property of the node groups. This paper solves the problem of the analysis (decomposition) of methods of protocols efficiency increase of dynamic routing in telecommunication networks with a possibility to self-organization. In the course of the research, the authors used the main provisions of the queuing theory, the theory of automation, the theory of complex technical systems and general scientific methods of cognition, namely analysis and synthesis. This research analyzes various methods to increase the efficiency of dynamic routing protocols. Energy efficiency methods focus on three main components in energy management: battery management, transmission energy management and system energy management methods. Reliable multicast has become indispensable for the successful deployment of special purpose wireless networks, such as in tactical military operations and emergency operations. The results of the research will be useful in: –development of new routing algorithms; –substantiation of recommendations for improving the efficiency of the route selection process in networks with the possibility of self-organization; –analysis of the electronic situation during hostilities (operations); –while creating promising technologies to increase the efficiency of mobile radio networks. Areas of further research will focus on the development of a methodology for the operational management of interference protection of intelligent military radio communication systems.

Due to the deficiency of data transmission speed and capacity of the GSM/GPRS network, in this paper we present the design of a data transmission system in the remote monitoring system of composite insulators, which is based on 3G and embedded technology. The program uses OK6410ARMll as a controller, and uses AD3812_ V2 as a 3G communication module. This paper briefly describes the hardware design production of the Linux system and Qt transplantation, focusing on stating the process of implementation of the wireless data transmission based on TCP/IP protocol. The program has improved the speed and reliability of data transmission. Compared to the GSM/GPRS network, this system has effectively improved the accuracy and efficiency of the insulator hydrophobic detection.

Quantitatively assessing the importance or criticality of each link in a network is of practical value to operators, as that can help them to increase the network's resilience, provide more efficient services, or improve some other aspect of the service. Betweenness is a graph-theoretical measure of centrality that can be applied to communication networks to evaluate link importance. However, as we illustrate in this paper, the basic definition of betweenness centrality produces inaccurate estimations as it does not take into account some aspects relevant to networking, such as the heterogeneity in link capacity or the difference between node-pairs in their contribution to the total traffic. A new algorithm for discovering link centrality in transport networks is proposed in this paper. It requires only static or semi-static network and topology attributes, and yet produces estimations of good accuracy, as verified through extensive simulations. Its potential value is demonstrated by an example application. In the example, the simple shortest-path routing algorithm is improved in such a way that it outperforms other more advanced algorithms in terms of blocking ratio.

Special Section on Parallel, Distributed, and Reconfigurable Computing, and Networking Graphics processing units (GPUs) are highly efficient architectures for parallel stencil code; however, the small device (i.e., GPU) memory capacity (several tens of GBs) necessitates the use of out-of-core computation to process excess data. Great programming effort is needed to manually implement efficient out-of-core stencil code. To relieve such programming burdens, directive-based frameworks emerged, such as the pipelined accelerator (PACC); however, they usually lack specific optimizations to reduce data transfer. In this paper, we extend PACC with two data-centric optimizations to address data transfer problems. The first is a direct-mapping scheme that eliminates host (i.e., CPU) buffers, which intermediate between the original data and device buffers. The second is a region-sharing scheme that significantly reduces host-to-device data transfer. The extended PACC was applied to an acoustic wave propagator, automatically extending the length of original serial code 2.3-fold to obtain the out-of-core code. Experimental results revealed that on a Tesla V100 GPU, the generated code ran 41.0, 22.1, and 3.6 times as fast as implementations based on Open Multi-Processing (OpenMP), Unified Memory, and the previous PACC, respectively. The generated code also demonstrated usefulness with small datasets that fit in the device capacity, running 1.3 times as fast as an in-core implementation. A distributed ultrasonic method for measuring the liquid film thickness of vertical multiphase slug flow and churn flow widely existed in industrial production is proposed in this paper. First, according to the proportional relationship between transit time of ultrasonic echo and liquid film thickness, we use the twin-crystal ultrasonic probe to measure the local thickness of liquid film. In view of the non-uniform circumferential distribution of the liquid film, three ultrasonic probes are installed on the same pipe section to measure the circumferential distribution of liquid film thickness. Then, a high-speed data acquisition system suitable for multi-channel and a data transmission system based on gigabit network are designed. The experiments of gas-liquid two-phase flow and oil-gas-water three-phase are carried out in a vertical pipe with a diameter of 20 mm. The fluctuation of local liquid film thickness has been measured by the distributed ultrasonic sensor, and the average thickness of liquid film of slug flow and churn flow under different flow conditions is obtained. The result indicates that the average liquid film thickness of slug flow and churn flow gradually thickens with the increase of liquid superficial velocity, and the distributed ultrasonic sensor can accurately measure the change of film thickness.

In recent years, for the development or application of vortex beams and spatial structured optical fields, the detection of orbital angular momentum (OAM) of vortex beams has become an important topic. In this paper, based on the holographic diffraction grating method of the spatial light modulator (SLM), through a designed diffraction grating whose intensity distribution and diffraction angle are adjustable, the OAM of the single-mode vortex beam is detected. We first started with a self-designed 1D holographic diffraction grating, verified our ideas, and then designed a 2D holographic diffraction grating and successfully detected the OAM of the single-mode vortex beam. The theory and experiment are in great agreement. Our method is useful for the design of SLM-based holographic diffraction gratings and has reference value for OAM detection and data transmission systems based on vortex beams.

This paper focuses on the advanced Forward Error Correction (FEC) based on Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) codes for remote control and data transmission of Aeronautic and Astronautic Vehicles (AAV). It shows that the nontransparent LDPC codes with odd row weights are able to resist phase inversion with a small computational overhead. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first time to use FEC to resist phase inversion. Then, a high hardware-efficient FEC design for AAV, which is capable of correcting random errors as well as phase inversion, is proposed based on circulant decomposition with circulant size of 2s. Such a (4096, 2048) LDPC code has been adopted in a data transmission system due to its excellent error performance and hardware efficiency. In this paper, we propose an ambient backscatter communication-based smart 5G IoT network. The network consists of two parts, namely a real-time data transmission system based on ambient backscatter communication and a real-time big data analysis system based on the combination of shallow neural networks and deep neural networks. The real-time data transmission system based on ambient backscatter communication can extend the standby time of data collection equipment, reduce the size of the equipment, and increase the comfort of wearing. The real-time big data analysis system combining the shallow neural network and the deep neural network can greatly reduce the pressure caused by the frequent deep neural network calculations of the MEC and greatly reduce the energy consumed by the MEC for remote real-time monitoring.

This paper proposes a 5-Gb/s four-level pulse amplitude modulation (PAM4) transmitter using compensation circuit in data transmission systems. In PAM4 systems, the signal amplitude requires smaller rising and falling times. To achieve this, we adopted an analog feed forward equalizing (FFE) for the compensation in PAM4 transmitter. To confirm the advantage of the proposed technique, we fabricated a 5-Gb/s PAM4 transmitter IC in an 180-nm CMOS process for this work. The measured rising and falling times were 18% and 13% smaller than those without FFE, respectively.

With the continuous development of space system, the tracking ability, data transmission ability, and communication ability of TT & C network are required to be higher. This paper studies the development of foreign space TT & C and data transmission system, analyzes its development process and characteristics, summarizes the future development trend, and combs the key technologies of space TT & C and data transmission system. On this basis, analyzing the needs of China’s future space system to TT & C and data transmission system and presenting some suggestions.

The paper considers the problem associated with the detection of threats associated with the leakage of information through existing channels that have a different physical principle at the objects of information activities. A mathematical model is proposed, which is based on the theory of fractal analysis and which identifies the channel through which there is an unauthorized leakage of information on the object of information activity. Based on experimental data obtained using different channels of unauthorized removal of information at the object of information activities, a scale is presented, which determines the intervals of the fractal dimension, which allows to identify the channel through which the intention to leak information at the object information activities.

This paper discusses some of the lessons learned during the 3d Signal Brigade fielding of Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE) and the training of III corps subscribers to use MSE at Fort Hood, Texas. MSE is a digital, nodal communications system capable of providing common user voice and limited data transmission for corps and division subscribers. In 1988, III Corps was the first corps to begin fielding MSE equipment. The fielding at Fort Hood was not accomplished without some growing pains. However, the benefits of having the new equipment far outweighed transition through the teething phase. The rest of the corps in the Army will field MSE following the lead of III Corps and Fort Hood. This paper discusses some of the lessons learned in the areas of: training, operations, personnel, and logistics during the fielding process.

The issues of analytical and simulation-based evaluation of reliability of controlling the multi-channel signature diagnostic method are described in this paper. The analysis of tasks and classification of systems of technical diagnostics of microprocessor devices of data transmission systems is carried out. The analysis of modern microprocessor devices of data transmission systems as an object of control and diagnostics necessary for the choice of characteristics of signature analysis methods is made, that the main documents of signature analysis are dictionaries of the reference signatures. Methods of calculation and determination of signatures for signature analysis in the diagnosis of microprocessor devices are considered. It is shown that the main document of signature analysis is the dictionary of reference signatures. A comparative analysis of the methods of calculation and determination of reference signatures used in the diagnosis of microprocessor devices has been performed. Algarymms and simulation programs for one and multi-channel signature methods for automating the determination of reference signatures for multi-output microprocessor devices have been developed

The communication protocols are an essential part for the data communication of Internet of Things (IoT) applications. However, the selection of a communication protocol is challenging because it depends on the nature of the IoT system and its data transmission system. Copious communications protocols have been developed and employed by researchers based on their requirements in the last decade. Though, none of them is able to support all criteria requirements, like energy efficiency, security, quality of service, etc. Of all types of IoT systems, communication protocols are an ongoing dilemma for the IoT industry; consequently, it is important to analyze the comportments and mechanisms of this latter to determine their best-fit scenarios. Therefore, this paper presents an evaluation of established communication protocols HTTP, MQTT, DDS, XMPP, AMQP and CoAP for IoT applications. Firstly, it presents the broad comparison among these communication protocols to introduce their characteristics comparatively. Subsequently, it performs a detailed and in-depth analysis of the related process of gaining an understanding of their strengths and limitations. Therefore, based on this detailed evaluation, the user can determine their appropriate use for various IoT applications depending on their needs, efficiency, and suitability.

One of the alternative methods for high-speed signal processing in channel with memory caused by its frequency selective properties is the development of a radio data transmission system using the theory of resolution time. This paper presents a new method for its effective memory estimation, with low computational complexity and providing high accuracy of the obtained results, that is a prerequisite to develop real time algorithm for signal processing radio data transmission system based on this theory.

Phased array is a new type of data transmission antenna for remote sensing satellite. The antenna scans its beam to keep the advantage of wide area coverage and high gain to get large EIRP. According to the general requirements of data transmission subsystem employed for earth observing satellite, the relationship of the parameters subject to the phased array data transmission is analyzed. A design of data transmission system suitable for engineering application and a demonstration antenna array is presented in this paper.

Powerline communication (PLC) is a promising technology that allows data transmission through electric power distribution networks, with the advantage of using an existing infrastructure, reducing costs in maintenance and installation of telecommunication systems. However, once power systems are not designed specifically for data transmission, it may exhibit limiting electromagnetic interference characteristics for desirable system performance. This paper aims to analyze data rate performance of a Broadband PLC system when operating under conditions of conducted and radiated electromagnetic interference caused by lighting devices. The analyzed data transmission system presented good performance when subject to radiated electromagnetic interference, but was shown to be sensitive to conducted disturbances caused by lighting devices.

The rising availability of digital traces provides a fertile ground for data-driven solutions to problems in cities. However, even though a massive data set analyzed with data science methods may provide a powerful and cost-effective solution to a problem, its adoption by relevant stakeholders is not guaranteed due to adoption barriers such as lack of interpretability and interoperability. In this context, this paper proposes a methodology toward bridging two disciplines, data science and transportation, to identify, understand, and solve transportation planning problems with data-driven solutions that are suitable for adoption by urban planners and policy makers. The methodology is defined by four steps where people from both disciplines go from algorithm and model definition to the development of a potentially adoptable solution with evaluated outputs. We describe how this methodology was applied to define a model to infer commuting trips with mode of transportation from mobile phone data, and we report the lessons learned during the process. This paper proposes a new method for generating the communication channel key of the marine data transmission system. The channel frequency response (CFR) of the communication channel is extracted to characterize the communication channel, which is detected, quantized, negotiated, and consistently acknowledged. As a method of generating and amplifying new privacy key for communication channels. The method generated a large number of key bits through a sliding window and replaces multiple rounds of negotiation with one round of negotiation; the method only defines the maximum length of the initial key such that the initial key has random variation characteristics in the length and data dimensions. Experiments show that it has the characteristics of high reliability and is suitable for the confidentiality of the communication channel of the marine data transmission systems.

This paper considers the issues of organizing the reliable data transmission over non-stationary discrete communication channels. An analysis of existing data transmission systems with feedback is carried out, with defining the shortcomings of existing mechanisms for determining the optimal data block length in data transmission systems with feedback. Data transmission method is developed based on reinforcement learning.

The paper considers the principles of the construction of a data transmission system in automated air traffic control systems established in Ukraine and functions within the framework of the international system for the exchange of information on air traffic. The analysis made it possible to assert that the existing system is based on the hierarchical principle of transmission and processing of information. For information transfer, the principles of switching buffered packets using different strategies are used, which may affect the basic characteristics of the packet switching process in ACS network by air traffic. As a result of researches it was established that for the development of switching means in networks it is necessary to use buffer memory which is designed for the maximum information load.

Absrtact: transmission line is an important part of smart grid construction, which has many factors, such as wide distribution, long distance, complex working environment, difficult maintenance and easy to be damaged by natural external forces, etc. Among them, the construction of transmission line online monitoring network plays an important role in ensuring the stability and safe operation of online monitoring technology. In this paper, through the analysis of the transmission line and on-line monitoring transmission data demand and the existing problems of the current communication network, the communication network and data transmission system for transmission line monitoring is designed, which provides some reference for the construction of stable operation of the transmission line on-line monitoring network.

This paper designs a wireless data transmission system based on LoRa technology in view of the safety requirements of the upgrade of the oil refinery sewage treatment system. On the basis of protecting the data flow of the previous system, the measurement data of each sensor is collected and sent to the PLC in a wireless manner. By the reasonable circuit structure design and the wireless transmission mode choice, this system has high explosion-proof performance, high safety, and has the advantages of good real-time performance, high maintainability, and easy expansion.

Today we are living in a world where smart homes are highly prevalent. Such homes involve many smart devices to form an Internet of Things (IoT) structure and huge amounts of data are generated. Efficient transmission of these data is vital since they may contain security related information also. The resident of the smart homes should be notified about any intrusions or emergencies such fire accidents when they are away from the home. In this paper, we propose a mechanism based on Wi-Fi 802.11b where various types of data traffic are considered which detects the intrusions and the emergencies in a smart home based scenario. Here alerts are sent to the resident through a cloud server. A multi-tiered detection and data transmission system is designed to improve the efficiency of the alert mechanism.

In the paper we consider a method of efficiency improvement for Zero-Force (ZF) and Minimum Mean-Squared Error (MMSE) decision making algorithms in Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) data transmission systems. A gain provided by the proposed approach is estimated for a few scenarios via simulations.

The paper substantiates the necessity of currently used quantum frequency standards modernization for solving various problems. One of the directions of quantum frequency standard modernization is proposed, in particular, the development of a new design of a frequency synthesizer for improving metrological characteristics of quantum frequency standard. Results of experimental studies show the effectiveness of the new development application.

In this paper, we present a reverse conversion from a two-stage Residue Number System (RNS) to a Binary Number System (BNS) with a special set of level 1 modules {2 α1, 2 α2 − 1, …, 2αn − 1} and level 2 modules {2 β1, 2 β2 − 1, …, 2 β k − 1}. The proposed method is based on the Chinese Remainder Theorem (CRT) with fractions and using a calculation method that uses constant multiplications to speed up calculations. This article discusses the simulation of FPGA reverse conversion to a two-stage RNS using the proposed method and the standard CRT using adders, their comparison of latency and hardware costs.

The performance sharing can be widely seen in different kinds of engineering systems, such as meshed power distribution systems and interconnected data transmission systems. This paper presents a study of systems consisting of multi-state units connected as two performance sharing groups, and the suggested methodology can be adapted for the case of three or more performance sharing groups. To be more general, the system unit is allowed to be in one single performance sharing group or both. The paper analyzes the data transmission system based on UWB technology for unmanned surface vehicles. The main advantages of using ultra-wideband signals are presented. It is shown that such a communication system allows for a transmission speed of several tens of Mbps with a radio path length of not more than 10 m.

The real-time operation status monitoring of natural gas wells in the wilderness area has problem such as construction suffering, high maintenance cost, and high data transmission cost. In view of the above problems, this paper studies the design of a multi-node data transmission system using Beidou satellite short message as the data transmission means. Firstly, analysed the advantages and disadvantages of several common data transmission methods and introduced the Beidou short message; Secondly, introduced the main working parameters of the oil and gas well; Thirdly, The data acquisition and transmission system was designed in detail and the prototype system was developed. The experimental results show that the data transmission success rate of the system can reach more than 98%. This system solution can provide a useful reference for engineering with similar requirements.

In this paper, high-speed planar waveguides of optoelectronic data bus are suggested replacing low-throughput backplane electrical interconnects. Optical polymer polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and cost-efficient soft lithography technology are proposed for optoelectronic bus fabrication. In accordance with polymer optoelectronic data bus fabrication process work-out results the chosen materials and technology applicability was confirmed. As an optoelectronic bus characteristics measurement results, 14 dB/cm propagation losses value was obtained by general use materials.

Along with increasing innovations in frontier engineering sciences, the advancement in Robotic Autonomous Systems (RAS) has brought about a new horizon in earthmoving processes for construction. In the military domain, there is also an increasing interest in utilising RAS technologies. In particular, ground-based forces are frequently called upon to conduct earthmoving tasks as part of military operations, tasks which could be partially or fully aided by the employment of RAS technologies. There have been rapid developments in military construction automation using high-mobility ground-based platforms, human-machine and machine-machine interfaces, teleoperation and control systems, data transmission systems, machine perception and manipulation capabilities, as well as advances in networked robotics and cyberphysical systems. Given these developments it is timely to undertake a comprehensive overview on the topic of interest to the research community and the authority. This paper presents an overview of the RAS development for platform-centric earthworks together with an analysis of the technical feasibility, maturity, key technical challenges, and future directions for the application of RAS technologies to earthmoving tasks of interest to the army.

In this paper are presented the results regarding the implementation of a reliable encoder that is intended to be used in automotive applications for accurately transferring digital signals from different types of sensors, control elements and other peripheral components to a central processing unit. The designed module is capable to operate with various line coding schemes such are: NRZ (non-return-to-zero), RZ (return-to-zero), AMI (alternate mark inversion) and Manchester (phase encoding). During extensive simulations and practical measurements it was revealed that the maximum data communication speed achieved by the designed system is around 1 Mb/s, when the signal-to-noise ratio is maintained above 10 dB. The enhanced implementation of the proposed encoder, based on synchronized line-codes, offers good performances regarding the resistance to perturbations as well as an improved spectral shaping and clock recovering capabilities for obtaining efficient internal data transmission systems for vehicles.

In this paper, I will attempt to give my views on several research areas in which the field of systems and control can and should be making important contributions for some time to come. In each area one can certainly point to such contributions that are already being made, but it is my opinion that there is an opportunity, and in fact a need, for an increased presence of the control community in these areas. Obviously, this paper represents a biased viewpoint, as it reflects my perspectives and focuses for the most part on areas about which I know something. I hope, however, that it will accomplish its stated purpose which is to provoke responses and stimulate discussion that can then be used to shape a statement to which we can all ascribe. In coming up with the topics discussed in this paper I focused on addressing three questions: (1) In what areas can the control community have an impact? (2) What is it about the methods and perspectives of control and systems that provide us with these opportunities? (3) What form might our contributions take?

AT&T has played a major role in the development of national and international standards for 32-kb/s adaptive differential pulse code modulation (ADPCM). This paper highlights the process leading to the standards on 32-kb/s ADPCM recognized by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the International Telephone and Telegraph Consultative Committee (CCITT). The paper briefly describes the algorithm itself and its performance. It concludes with a discussion of applications of ADPCM and the AT&T products and services that utilize ADPCM.

Synchronous data transmission systems that transmit information over dispersive channels often employ adaptive equalization techniques in the processing of the received signals. Most equalizers presently used in communication systems are of the tapped delay line (TDL) type. In this paper, we propose a class of adaptive equalizers of which the TDL equalizer is a member. Another interesting member of this class is the Laguerre adaptive equalizer which is to be introduced in this paper. The configuration of the Laguerre equalizer is developed. It is found, as shown by the examples, that the Laguerre equalizer is more accurate, and is less sensitive to timing error than the conventional TDL equalizer.

In this paper the using of methods of assessment entropy of signals for data transmission systems is given. The special processors developed with using of this methods allow optimization of signal processing algorithms.

Mobile data offloading has been proposed as a solution for the network congestion problem that is continuously aggravating due to the increase in mobile data demand. However, the majority of the state-of-the-art is focused on the downlink offloading, while the change of mobile user habits, like mobile content creation and uploading, makes uplink offloading a rising issue. In this work we focus on the uplink offloading using IP Flow Mobility (IFOM). IFOM allows a LTE mobile User Equipment (UE) to maintain two concurrent data streams, one through LTE and the other through WiFi access technology, that presents uplink limitations due to the inherent fairness design of IEEE 802.11 DCF by employing the CSMA/CA scheme with a binary exponential backoff algorithm. In this paper, we propose a weighted proportionally fair bandwidth allocation algorithm for the data volume that is being offloaded through WiFi, in conjunction with a pricing-based rate allocation for the rest of the data volume needs of the UEs that are transmitted through the LTE uplink. We aim to improve the energy efficiency of the UEs and to increase the offloaded data volume under the concurrent use of access technologies that IFOM allows. In the weighted proportionally fair WiFi bandwidth allocation, we consider both the different upload data needs of the UEs, along with their LTE spectrum efficiency and propose an access mechanism that improves the use of WiFi access in uplink offloading. In the LTE part, we propose a two-stage pricing-based rate allocation under both linear and exponential pricing approaches, aiming to satisfy all offloading UEs regarding their LTE uplink access. We theoretically analyse the proposed algorithms and evaluate their performance through simulations. We compare their performance with the 802.11 DCF access scheme and with a state-of-the-art access algorithm under different number of offloading UEs and for both linear and exponential pricing-based rate allocation for the LTE uplink. Through the evaluation of energy efficiency, offloading capabilities and throughput performance, we provide an improved uplink access scheme for UEs that operate with IFOM for uplink offloading.
