Efficacy of autologous blood and residual blood laundering while cardiosurgical operations performance in a newborn babies for the inborn heart failures in conditions of artificial blood circulation, using a cell saver apparatus, was investigated. In accordance to the investigation data obtained, the efficacy of a free hemoglobin laundering have constituted 71.6%, proinflammatory interleukin-6--95.8%, loss of thrombocytes--85.8%.

In experiments in vivo the effect of nanocerium (cerium oxide nanoparticles) on the stability of red blood cells to acid hemolysis, levels of both ROS and RNS generation and H2S pools in plasma and erythrocytes of old rats were investigated. In red blood cells of old rats the proton penetration into the matrix of erythrocytes showed a significant raising and the fate of labile "aging" erythrocytes in old animals compared with adult were up- regulated. These phenomena paralleled with significant up-regulation of ROS and RNS generation. Introduction for 14 days per os to old rats 0.1 mg/kg of nanocerium fully restored resistance of erythrocytes to acid hemolysis by ROS and RNS in both plasma and erythrocytes reduction. Nanocerium decreased the erythrocytes and, conversely, significantly increased the plasma's pools of H2S.

We explored the efficacy and the mechanisms of influence on physical performance of vibratory loads in the "whole body vibration" (WBV) at a frequency of 50 Hz, amplitude of 30 mm and a running time of 30 minutes, which was performed after each standard training sessions in athletes for 3 weeks. WBV vibration causes an occurrence ofhypoxia, as evidenced by the end of the study the serum growth athletes content HIF- 1 a with 0.89+/-0.03 to 1.3 1+/-0.01 ngxml-1, which is substantially higher than in control (1.04+/-0.02 ngxml-1). Simultaneously, it is activated such a HIF-1 alpha-dependent process as erythropoiesis: the contents of red blood cells increases at the end of the study to 6.04+/-0.11x10(12) 1-1 (control only to 5.23+/-0.12x10(12)xl-1). Intensification of angiogenic stimuli under the influence of hypoxia is manifested by a significant two times increase in the serum levels of the main angiogenesis factor VEGF (to 62.3+6.8 pgxml-1, from the control level of 32.7+/-4.7 pgxml-1 Vibration loads are accompanied by a lack of oxidative stress, an important ergolytic factor. In contrast, they activate nonenzymatic antioxidant system unit, resulting in an increase in the content of reduced glutathione in the cell membranes. We detected a reduction in endogenous toxicity and improvement of humoral immunity and, as a result, an improvement of physical performance in athletes.

Influence of copper ions on white blood cells parameters in Carassius auratus gibelio was investigated. Changes in cytogenetic parameters and instability in erythrocytes and epithelial cells of gills were estimated in reply to influence of copper solutions. The frequency of epithelial gill cells at a stage of apoptosis was investigated. The opportunity to use the hematological parameters and cytogenetic instability set for xenobiotics effects in fishes was shown.

Effect of lipopolysaccharides (LPS) and their structure components (lipid A, oligosaccharide core, and O-specific polysaccharides) from 8 strains of P. fontium on the adhesion process have been investigated for the first time. It was demonstrated, that LPS and their structural components may compete with E. coli adhesins and phytohemagglutinin under binding with receptors on the surface of the rabbit erythrocytes. An analysis of different structural components influence indicated, that in comparison with O-specific polysaccharides and core oligosaccharide lipids A of all investigated strains of P. fontium displayed the highest inhibitory action on the adhesion process. It was shown that there existed certain dependence between LPS composition and their effects on the adhesion process. LPS, obtained from P. fontium strains grown at different temperatures (36, 25, 4 degrees C) and characterized by various quantitative and qualitative monosaccharide and fatty acid composition, demonstrated different adhesion properties.

Isolation of lectins from extracts of the Sambucus nigra inflorescences and of pollen material have been performed using isoelectric focusing without carrier ampholytes (autofocusing). Fractions active in agglutination tests with different carbohydrate specificity were subjected to SDS-PAGE. The major lectin found in whole inflores-cences was GalNAc specific and is proposed to be a heterotetramer with subunits of about 30 and 33 kDa. It was called SNAflu-I. At least two other lectins were present in the pollen material and supposed to consist of identical subunits. Major positively charged lectin was Glc/Man specific with subunit of 26 kDa and called SNApol-I. Other pollen component (SNApol-II) was Gal specific with subunit of about 20 kDa. In order to elucidate cell targets sensitive for the S. nigra lectin's activity the combined effects of the lectins and transcriptional of phenazine origin on B. subtilis cells growth have been studied. Only SNApol-I demonstrated the antagonistic activity against these inhibitors in vivo. This lectin but not the SNAflu-I can also inhibit transcription in vitro. It is supposed that lectins from the same source may act in different directions on cell metabolism. Particularly one of the common targets may be the DNA-dependent synthesis of RNA.

Protein composition of mammalian erythrocyte membrane-cytoskeletal complex under the influence of cryoprotectants and freezing-thawing process was studied by the methods of electrophoresis. No quantitative and qualitative differences in the research objects on basic structural proteins in all experimental variants were revealed. Slight changes in cryopreservation process were noted in bovine erythrocytes, where there was a reduction of protein band 6. This may be related to either cryostability of protein or insufficient sensitivity of the method.

The influence of the AB0 blood groups on adhesion of different lactic acid bacteria species was studied. From twelve investigated strains of Streptococcus salivarius subsp. thermophilus, Enterococcus faecium, Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. plantarum and L. delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus species, difference between adhesion average index on erythrocytes of various blood groups was found in two strains. The average adhesion index of the strain E. faecium K-50 in A (II) blood group erythrocytes was higher (AAI = 4.91 +/- 0.26) than in B (III) blood group erythrocytes (AAI = 4.17 +/- 0.33). The strain L. delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus 4n has displayed a higher adhesive activity in A (II) blood group erythrocytes (AAI = 4.36 +/- 0.13) in comparison with AB (III) blood group erythrocytes (AAI = 3.61 +/- 0.75).

An analysis of structural and functional state of erythrocytes of 136 patients with metabolic syndrome and nourishment of these patients have been outlined in the article. It was determined that the diet with decreased level of carbohydrate and enriched in amino-acids, lecithin, vitamins and antioxidants enables weight correction and normalization of structural and functional state of erythrocytes.

Antihemolytic effect of various amphiphilic compounds under conditions of red blood cell hypertonic hemolysis at different temperatures (0 and 37 degrees C) and cell exposure to diamide was investigated. The level of maximum antihemolytic activity and values of efficient concentrations for all studied substances were lower at 0 degrees C if compared with 37 degrees C. Exposure of erythrocytes to diamide (5 and 10 mmol/l) did not change cell sensibility to hypertonic medium. There has been demonstrated a temperature-dependent decrease in the efficiency of studiedsubstances under hypertonic hemolysis of erythrocytes exposed to 10 mmol/l diamide. Found reduction in efficiency of amphiphiles at low temperature and at high concentration of diamide was probably caused by similar changes of structural and dynamic state of erythrocyte membrane.

The changes in protein-protein interactions mediated by SH3 domain of the regulatory p85 alpha subunit of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (Pl 3-kinase) in the course of herbimycin A-induced erythroid differentiation of the human erythroleukemia cell line K562 have been analyzed. Binding assay was performed in vitro using a recombinant form of SH3 domain of p85 alpha, conjugated with glutathione-S-transferase. pTyr-containing 210, 116, 52 and 46 kDa proteins, binding of which are modulated in differentiated cells, were identified and binding dynamics was analysed. The obtained data on binding the specific pTyr-containing proteins with regulatory subunit of Pl 3-kinase testify about the coordinated control of Pl 3-kinase signalling pathway in the course of herbimycin A-induced K562 cells differentiation.
