Schools play an important role in the psychosocial, academic, and professional development of refugee children. Specifically, psychological counselors and guidance (PCG) experts who provide mental health services in schools have a critical role in this process. The way of approach to the problems, areas of difficulty, support needs, and suggestions of PCG experts who have experience working with refugee children can increase the quality of the services to be provided in this direction. In this study based on qualitative design, the experiences of PCG experts who have worked with refugee children were examined. The data were collected from 38 PCG experts. The data were analyzed with the thematic analysis technique. As a result of the analyses, 27 sub-themes related to six themes were determined: the perceptions of the PCG experts about refugee children, their approach to refugee children, the demands of refugee children, the activities carried out for refugee children, the competence to work with refugee children, and effective intervention proposals for refugee children. It has been determined that PCG experts have a realistic perception of refugee children, they carry out various activities towards refugee children in a professional manner in line with their demands, and they develop various coping methods against difficulties in this process. Although working with refugee children contributes to improving the professional skills of PCG experts, PCG experts need training to giving effective services to refugee children such as non-language-based methods, trauma education, refugee rights, psychoeducation and play therapy activities. Based on PCG experts’ experiences, they offer various recommendations for effective interventions for refugee children. In line with the results obtained, it has been evaluated that school counseling services can be the pioneer of activities to increase positive experiences in order to increase the mental health of refugee children.

Psikolojide neyin bilgi değeri taşıdığı ve ne tür konuların araştırılabileceği, içinde bulunulan dönemin yansımalarından etkilenebilmektedir. Neoliberalizmin sosyopolitik düzlemi yeni bir psişe anlatısı ortaya koymuştur. Bu psişe anlatımı doğrultusunda, neoliberal sistem benliğe yönelik bilgiyi ve öyküyü yeniden yapılandırmıştır. Bu çalışmada, neoliberal politikaların psikoloji ve daha özelde de psikolojik danışma alanında yansımaları tartışılmıştır. İlgili yazın incelendiğinde mikro tahakküm alanı olarak birey/ özne, mikro tahakküm biçimi olarak içselleştirilmiş disiplin ve psikolojinin çeşitli yöntemlerle piyasalaşması ya da bireyliğin piyasalaştırılması temaları üzerinde durulmuştur. Ayrıca neoliberal sistemde benliğin yeniden yapılandırılma biçimi incelenmiş, İçsel disipline etme sürecinde benliğe ve duygulara değinilmiştir. Psikolojik danışma alanında bireyin özerkliği ve pozitif gelişiminin sosyal adalet paradigmasıyla bütünleştirilmesinin gereğine vurgu yapılmıştır. Neoliberalizm bağlamındaki eleştirel yazın çerçevesinde oluşturulan bu temaların psikolojik danışma alanına olası yansımaları ele alınmış, sosyal adalet paradigması çerçevesinde psikolojik danışma alanına yönelik önerilere dikkat çekilmiştir. Güçlülük temelli müdahalelerde, iyi oluşun yanında benliğe yönelik neoliberal baskıdan özgürleşme vurgusu yapılmıştır.

In this review, it is aimed to focus on the integration of spirituality into family-oriented psychological help processes. To conceptualize the reflection of spirituality on the family system more clearly and to make sense of the spirituality-family relationship, the issue of spirituality was examined in specific processes such as in the relationship between parents and children, between spouses and in the transition process from adolescence to late age. The paradoxical nature of spirituality in family relationships was emphasized. For this purpose, spirituality was discussed both as a source of problems and as a source for solutions in family relations. Spiritually oriented psychological clinical help is an emerging field in Turkey. Seeing that spirituality is such an important issue in family relations and marriage, it is aimed to bring a family-focused approach to the spiritually oriented psychological help process. So, by addressing ethical issues, this review aims to offer a new perspective to field practitioners working with couples and families in clinical practice.

Bu çalışma, dinî boyutun dâhil edildiği psikolojik danışma sürecinin üniversite öğrencilerinin psikopatolojik düzeylerini gidermede etkili olup olmadığının sınanması amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma, Mardin Artuklu Üniversitesine bağlı farklı birimlerde lisans düzeyinde öğrenim gören on beş öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu öğrencilerden yedisine bireysel psikolojik danışma; sekizine ise dinî boyutun dâhil edildiği bireysel psikolojik danışma uygulanmıştır. Deneklerin seçilmesinde ve uygulamanın etkililiğini ölçmede Kısa Semptom Envanteri (KSE) kullanılmıştır. KSE, psikolojik danışma müdahalesinden önce, müdahale süreci bittikten hemen sonra ve son test uygulandıktan 6 ay sonra danışanlara uygulanmıştır. Psikolojik danışma müdahalesinin danışanların psikopatolojik düzeyleri üzerindeki etkisini test etmek amacıyla toplanan veriler, SPSS 21.0 paket programı kullanılarak çözümlenmiş ve Mann- Whitney U ve Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar Testleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda dinî boyutun dahil edildiği bireysel psikolojik danışma uygulamasının üniversite öğrencilerinin psikopatoloji düzeylerini düşürmede kalıcı bir etkiye sahip olduğu ve somatizasyon, obsesif- kompulsif düşünceler, depresyon ve anksiyete alt boyutları ile genel psikopatoloji düzeyini düşürmede bireysel psikolojik danışmadan daha etkili olduğu saptanmıştır.

In order to define the future, it is seen that the psychological support approaches that return to the past are replaced by the approaches that return to the essence. As the power of change that one can find in the essence; The combination of heart, mind and spirit is emphasized. Combining ACT and spiritual practice, this association contains two important concepts: awareness and acceptance. It is thought that integration of spirituality will contribute to the concepts presented by the Act against the inevitability of unwanted thoughts and experiences. The aim of this study is to provide a general framework for cooperation between ACT and spirituality.

With the start of individuals from different cultures and subcultures taking part in the same society, the process of understanding and recognizing cultures has found its place in psychology and counseling. While multicultural counseling evaluates the counselor’s cultural values in the counseling environment, various ideas have been formed to address spirituality. This article summarizes the place of counseling in the psychology literature, along with perspectives on dealing with religion and spirituality. It then aims to examine the process of multiculturalism and multicultural counseling in terms of spirituality and traditional approaches.

Ibn Ata Allah al-Iskandari was a Shadhili Sufi known for his work, al-Hikam al-‘Ata’iyya. Ibn Ata Allah, known for his influential oratorical style, sermons, and conversations, which deeply impacted the masses during his time, reflected these qualities in all his works, especially al-Hikam al-‘Ata’iyya. Along with this, finding information on the deepest topics of mysticism is possible in his works. His works address the basic concepts of mystical thinking, such as worship and obedience removed from hypocrisy and fame, resignation, surrender, limits, and hope. This study attempts to explain al-Iskandari’s life, works, mystical understanding, contribution to the world of thought, and concepts specifically addressed in his works, like worship and obedience apart from fame and hypocrisy, trust in God, surrender, limits, and hope. Together with this, the study focuses on the prospect of being able to address al-Iskandari and his work, al-Hikam al-‘Ata’iyya, in particular as a resource particular to spiritually-oriented psychology and psychological counseling through the context of psychology and psychological counseling.
