In this study, the efficacy of single and combined usage of the predatory mite Neoseiulus californicus (NC) (McGregor) and Terpenoid Blend QRD-460 (TBQ) for the control of spider mites in apple orchards were determined. The study was carried out in two different apple orchards in Şarkikaraağaç district of Isparta Province. The study was planned according to the randomized plot design with 3 replications and 4 characters as control, TBQ, 50NC/tree and TBQ+50NC. In the apple orchard in Çavundur village, on the 63rd day, in the plots where control, 50NC/tree, TBQ+50NC/tree and TBQ treatments were applied, a mean number of 8.18, 0.76, 0.84 and 8.22 eggs/leaf and 10.26, 2.09, 1.07 and 9.24 hd (motile period: larva+ nymph+adult)/leaf were found, respectively. In the apple orchard in Alciklar neighborhood, on the 63rd day, in the plots where control, 50NC/tree, TBQ+50NC/tree and TBQ applications were applied, a mean number of 3.36, 0.49, 0.71 and 3.38 eggs/leaf and 5.02 0.71, 0.93 and 4.62 hd/leaf were found, respectively. Spider mites lead to significant damage in the areas where apple is produced. Chemical control is generally preferred in the control of spider mites and other pests in Turkey. Today, many negative aspects of chemical control have turned up. Spider mites have a lot of natural enemies and knowing their activities is important. Neoseiulus californicus (McGregor, 1954) (Acari: Phytoseiidae) is a predator species which is used to control against spider mites. In this study, activities and release ratio of predator N. californicus that is control against spider mites in apple orchards are determined. For this purpose, two different experiments were established in two different apple orchards in Çavundur village and Alcıklar neighborhood in Şarkikaraağaç district of Isparta province. The study was established according to random trial parcels. 25, 50 or 100 predatory mites (NC) were released per tree in parcels. No application has been used for control. In the orchards located in Çavundur village where N. californicus has been relased, control, 25, 50 and 100 NC/tree in 63rd day, 10.31, 2.58, 1.96, 1.69 spider mite moving stages (ms)/leaf and 8.09, 1.11, 0.66 and 1.16 egg/leaf have been found. In Alcıklar neighborhood, control, 25, 50 and 100 NC/tree release 63rd day 4.53, 1.02, 0.49, and 0.49 ms/leaf and in the same order 3.11, 0.67, 0.36 and 0.31 egg/leaf has been detected. Tetranychus urticae Koch is one of the major pests that cause economic losses in pepper production. In the production of pepper, it is fed on the plant and causes loss of yield and quality in the plant. Within the scope of the integrated pest management, Acari family Phytoseiidae members are generally used for the control of these pests. Phytoseiulus persimilis Athias-Henriot and Neoseiulus californicus (McGregor) (Acari: Phytoseiidae) are most commonly used to control of mites in greenhouses. P. persimilis is most preferred because it is a specific predator and feeds only on Tetranychus species. In this study, the use and efficacy of bifenazate (Bif) and Phytoseiulus persimilis (PP) in the control of Tetranychus urticae on pepper in greenhouse conditions were determined. For this purpose, four-character experiment including Bif, PP, Bif + PP and control was established according to completely randomized design in the greenhouse. Evaluations were performed on the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th days after applying Bif and PP to determine mite density. According to the 28th day evaluation in 2017 and 2018, the number of hd (moving stage) / leaves was 0.53 and 0.53 hd / leaf for PP; 3.47 and 3.60 hd / leaf for Bif; 0.13 and 0.67 hd / leaf for Bif+ PP and 6.16 and 6.47 hd / leaf for control respectively. When the applications were evaluated in general, it was determined that the best control of T. urticae during both years was provided by Bif+ PP application. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
