Bu tez çalışmasında, yüksek ısı ve basınca dayanıklı P355GH ve östenitik paslanmaz 316L çeliklerinin Tungsten inert gaz (TIG) kaynak yöntemi ile birleştirilmesi mikroyapı, mekanik özellikler ve birleşim verimliliği bakımından araştırıldı. İki farklı metalin kaynak ile birleşimi için test plakaları hazırlandı ve kaynaklandı. Kaynaklanan plakalardan test numuneleri tel erozyon yöntemi ile kesildi. Kaynak bölgesi, ısı tesiri altında kalan bölgeler ve esas metaller için kapsamlı testler gerçekleştirildi. Metalografik karakterizasyon araştırmasında; optik mikroskop (OM), alan emisyonlu taramalı elektron mikroskobu (FESEM), enerji dağılımlı X-ışını spektroskopisi (EDX/EDS), X-ray difraksiyonu (XRD) analizleri gerçekleştirildi. Kaynaklı birleşim ve birleştirilen malzemelerin mekanik özelliklerini tespit etmek için Vickers mikrosertlik, eğme, Charpy V-Notch darbe, çekme testleri gerçekleştirildi. Optik incelemede P355GH ana metalin ortalama tane boyutu 5.13 ± 1 µm, 316L ana metalin ortalama tane boyutu ise 16.33 ± 5 µm olarak ölçülmüştür. XRD analizi sonucunda kaynak bölgesinin mikroyapısında delta ferrit fazı tespit edilmiştir. Vickers mikrosertlik değerleri, en yüksek kaynak merkezinde 268 ± 15 HV tespit edildi. 316L ana metalde 217.8 ± 12 HV, P355GH ana metaline ait sertlik değeri ise 195.7 ± 11 HV olarak ölçülmüştür. Çekme testinde, enine kaynak birleşiminde gözlemlenen en yüksek çekme dayanımı 593.92 ± 06 MPa değerindedir ve 316L bölgesinden kopma gerçekleşmiştir. Boyuna kaynak birleşiminde ise en yüksek çekme dayanımı 584.85 ± 07 MPa’dır. 316L çekme dayanımı 595.90 ± 08 MPa olarak ölçülürken, P355GH çekme dayanımı 601.49 ± 05 MPa olarak ölçülmüştür. Eğme testinde, eğme kuvvetleri 316L için 30.006 ± 8 kN P355GH için 36.324 ± 12 kN olarak tespit edildi. Enine ve boyuna kaynaklı numunelerde ise sırasıyla eğme kuvvetleri 34.331 ± 10 kN ve ise 32.966 ± 11 kN olarak ölçüldü. TIG kaynağı 316L ve P355GH metallerinin birleşiminde tokluk, yüksek plastik şekil değiştirme kabiliyeti, %101.10 oranında yüksek birleşim verimliliği gibi üstün özellikler gösterdi. This thesis investigates the joining of high temperature and pressure resistant P355GH and austenitic stainless 316L steels by Tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding method in terms of microstructure, mechanical properties, and joint efficiency. Test plates were prepared and welded for the joining of two different metals by welding. Test specimens from the welded plates were cut by wire electrical discharge machining. Extensive tests were carried out for the weld zone, heat affected zones and base metals. In metallographic characterization research, optical microscope (OM), field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX/EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyzes were performed. Vickers microhardness, bending, Charpy VNotch impact, tensile tests were performed to determine the mechanical properties of the welded joint and the joined materials. In the optical examination, the average grain size of the P355GH base metal was 5.13 ± 1 µm, and the mean grain size of the 316L base metal was 16.33 ± 5 µm. As a result of XRD analysis, delta ferrite phase was determined in the microstructure of the source region. Vickers microhardness values were determined as 268 ± 15 HV at the highest weld center. The hardness value of 316L base metal was 217.8 ± 12 HV, and the hardness value of P355GH base metal was measured as 195.7 ± 11 HV. In the tensile test, the highest tensile strength observed in the transverse weld joint was 593.96 ± 06 MPa and fracture occurred in the 316L region. In the longitudinal weld joint, the highest tensile strength is 584.85 ± 07 MPa. The tensile strength of 316L was measured as 595.90 ± 08 MPa, while the tensile strength of P355GH was measured as 601.49 ± 05 MPa. In the bending test, the bending forces were determined as 30.006 ± 8 kN for the 316L and 36.324 ± 12 kN for the P355GH. Bending forces were measured as 34.331 ± 10 kN and 32.966 ± 11 kN for transverse and longitudinal welded specimens, respectively. TIG weld metal showed superior properties such as toughness, high plastic deformation ability, high joint efficiency of 101.10% in the combination of 316L and P355GH metals.

Farklı üstün özelliklere sahip iki ana metalin birleşimi ile oluşan kaynak bölgesi, ısıdan etkilenen iki ana metalin mikroyapılarının mekanik özelliklere etkileri araştırılmıştır. Optik incelemede, optik mikroskop (OM), alan emisyonlu taramalı elektron mikroskobu (FESEM), enerji dağıtıcı X-ışını spektroskopisi (EDX), X-ray difraksiyonu (XRD) analizleri uygulanmıştır. Mekanik deneyler, mikrosertlik (HV 0.1), eğme, Charpy V-Notch darbe, çekme gibi testler kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Optik incelemede S355J2C+N ana metalin ortalama tane boyutu 5.35 ± 1 µm, 304L ana metalin ortalama tane boyutu ise 35 ± 5 µm olarak ölçülmüştür. Kaynak bölgesinin mikroyapısı heterojen bir yapı sergilemiştir. TIG kaynak işleminden sonra ısı tesiri altında kalan bölgede (ITAB) 304L için ortalama tane boyutu 41 ± 6 µm, S355J2C+N için ise 5.47 ± 1 µm’ dir. Vickers mikrosertlik değerleri, 304L ana metalde ~222 ± 10 HV, S355J2C+N ana metaline ait sertlik değeri ~187 ± 10 HV olarak ölçülmüştür. Kaynak merkezinin sertliği ise en yüksek sertliğe sahip olup ~302 ± 10 HV olarak tespit edilmiştir. Çekme testinde, enine yönden çıkarılan numunelerde gözlemlenen en yüksek çekme dayanımı 534.88 ± 10 MPa’dır. Enine yönden çıkarılan numunede kopma pozisyonu S355J2C+N ITAB bölgesinden gerçekleşmiştir. Boyuna yönünden çıkarılan numunenin en yüksek çekme dayanımı 601.29 ± 15 MPa’dır. Ana metal 304L çekme dayanımı 611.46 ± 14 MPa olarak ölçülürken, ana metal S355J2C+N çekme dayanımı 551.96 ± 9 MPa olarak ölçülmüştür. Eğme testinde, 304L ve S355J2C+N ana metallerinin eğme kuvvetleri sırasıyla 27.175 ± 4 kN ve 28.480 ± 2 kN olarak ölçüldü. Enine yönünden kesilen kaynaklı numunelerin eğme kuvveti 28.245 ± 2 kN iken boyuna yönünden kesilen kaynaklı numunelerin eğme kuvveti ise 31.380 ± 2 kN olarak ölçülmüştür. Tungsten inert ark kaynağı, paslanmaz ve karbon çeliğinin birleşiminde mukavemet, sızdırmazlık ve tokluk gibi iyi özellikler sağladı ve bu kaynak yöntemi bu iki farklı metalin başarılı biçimde birleştirilmesi için uygun olduğu belirlendi. Böylelikle benzer olmayan paslanmaz çelik ve karbon çeliğinin farklı malzemeler kullanılmak istenen karmaşık sistemlerde kolaylıkla kullanılabileceği tespit edildi This thesis reports the investigation of the joining of S355J2C+N and 304L steels by TIG welding method in terms of microstructure and mechanical properties. The effects of the microstructures of the two heat-affected base metals on the mechanical properties of the weld zone formed by the combination of two base metals with different superior properties were investigated. In optical examination, optical microscope (OM), field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyzes were applied. Mechanical tests were carried out using tests such as microhardness (HV 0.1), bending, Charpy V-Notch impact, tensile. In optical examination, the average grain size of S355J2C+N base metal was 5.35 ± 1 µm, and the mean grain size of 304L base metal was 35 ± 5 µm. The microstructure of the welding region exhibited a heterogeneous structure. After TIG welding, the average grain size in the 304L heat affected zone (HAZ) is 41 ± 6 µm, and the average grain size in the S355J2C+N heat affected zone (HAZ) is 5.47 ± 1 µm. Vickers microhardness values were measured ~222 ± 10 HV for the 304L base material, and ~187 ± 10 HV for the S355J2C+N base material. The hardness value of the weld center has the highest hardness and was measured as ~302 ± 10 HV. In the tensile test, the highest tensile strength observed in the specimens extracted from the transverse direction is 534.88 ± 10 MPa. The rupture position of the specimen extracted from the transverse direction was from the S355J2C+N HAZ. The highest tensile strength of the sample extracted from the longitudinal direction is 601.29 ± 15 MPa. While the tensile strength of the base metal 304L was measured as 611.46 ± 14 MPa, the tensile strength of the base metal S355J2C+N was measured as 551.96 ± 9 MPa. In the bending test, the bending forces of 304L and S355J2C+N base metals were measured as 27.175 ± 4 kN and 28.480 ± 2 kN, respectively. While the bending force of the welded samples cut from the transverse direction was 28.245 ± 2 kN, the bending force of the welded samples cut from the longitudinal direction was measured as 31.380 ± 2 kN. Tungsten inert arc welding provided good properties such as strength, sealing and toughness in the combination of stainless and carbon steel, and this welding method was determined to be suitable for the successful joining of these two dissimilar metals. Thus, it has been determined that dissimilar stainless steel and carbon steel can be easily used in complex systems where different materials are desired.

Bu tez, Hardox 450 ve EN 10025 S355J2C+N çeliklerinin gazaltı ark kaynak (GMAW) yöntemi ile birleştirilmesinin mikroyapı ve mekanik özellikler bakımından araştırılmasını bildirmektedir. Bu kapsamda iki farklı üstün özelliğe sahip metal ve kaynak telinin birleşimi ile oluşan kaynak merkezi, ısıdan etkilenen iki esas metalin mikroyapıları incelenmiş ve mekanik özelliklere etkileri araştırılmıştır. Deneyler, Vickers mikrosertlik (HV 0.1), eğilme, Charpy V-Notch darbe, aşınma, çekme gibi mekanik testler kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Optik incelemede, optik mikroskop (OM), alan emisyonlu taramalı elektron mikroskobu (FESEM), enerji dağıtıcı X-ışını spektroskopisi (EDX), X-ray difraksiyonu (XRD) analizleri uygulanmıştır. Optik incelemede S355J2C+N ana metalin ortalama tane boyutu 18 ± 6 µm, Hardox 450 ana metalin ortalama tane boyutu ise 9.2 ± 6 µm olarak ölçülmüştür. Gazaltı ark kaynak işleminden sonra Hardox 450 ısı tesiri altında kalan bölgesinde (ITAB) 4.4 ± 1 µm’ye 26 ± 4 µm uzunluğunda iğnemsi yapılar ve 11.8 ± 3 µm boyutunda taneler yer almaktadır. S355J2C+N ITAB bölgesinde 13 ± 3 µm ve yer yer 9.2 ± 3 µm boyutunda kompleks bir tane boyutu dağılımı mevcuttur. Kaynak merkezinde ise heterojen bir yapı oluşmuştur. Vickers mikrosertlik değerleri, Hardox 450’den S355J2C+N metaline doğru gidildikçe azaldı. En yüksek sertlik değeri Hardox 450 ana metalde ölçülmüştür ve 311 ± 8 HV'dir. S355J2C+N ana metalin sertliği yaklaşık 217 ± 8 HV iken kaynak merkezinin sertliği yaklaşık 249 ± 8 HV olarak ölçülmüştür. Mekanik dayanım analizi, esas metallerin akma dayanımlarının S355J2C+N ve Hardox 450 için sırasıyla 513 ± 8 MPa ve 1464 ± 8 MPa olduğunu, gazaltı ark kaynağının boyuna yönünden çıkarılan numunenin en yüksek çekme dayanımının 899 ± 8 MPa olduğunu, enine yönden çıkarılan numunenin en yüksek çekme dayanımı ise 699 ± 7 MPa olduğunu ve S355J2C+N malzemesinden koptuğunu gösterdi. Dinamik bir test cihazı kullanılarak Hardox 450, S355J2C+N ve kaynaklı bölgeye aşınma testi yapıldı. Eğme testinde, S355J2C+N ve Hardox 450 çeliklerinin maksimum eğme kuvvetlerinin sırasıyla 15.67 ± 2 ve 43.24 ± 4 kN, boyuna ve enine yönünden kesilen kaynaklı numunelerin eğme kuvvetlerinin sırasıyla 22.06 ± 2 ve 19.65 ± 2 kN olduğu tespit edildi. Mikroyapı analizleri için kapsamlı ve günümüz teknolojisi ile gerçekleştirilen analizler mikroyapı ile ilgili tüm detayları sundu. Gazaltı ark kaynağı iki farklı metalin birleşiminde mukavemet, sızdırmazlık ve tokluk gibi iyi özellikler sağladı ve bu kaynak yöntemi bu iki farklı metalin başarılı biçimde birleştirilmesi için uygundur. Böylece kompleks sistemler için bu farklı özellikteki iki metalin başarılı biçimde birleştirilebildiği tespit edildi. This thesis presents the investigation of the joining of Hardox 450 and EN 10025 S355J2C+N steels by the gas metal arc welding (GMAW) method in terms of microstructure and mechanical properties. In this context, the welding center formed by the combination of two different superior metals and welding wire, the microstructures of the two heat-affected base metals zone were examined and their effects on the mechanical properties were investigated. Experiments were carried out using mechanical tests such as Vickers microhardness (HV 0.1), bending, Charpy V-Notch impact, wear, tensile tests. In optical investigation, optical microscope (OM), field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyzes were applied. In optical investigation, the average grain size of S355J2C+N base metal was 18 ± 6 µm, and the grain size of Hardox 450 base metal was 9.2 ± 6 µm. After the gas metal arc welding process, there are acicular structures of 4.4 ± 1 µm by 26 ± 4 µm in length and grains of 11.8 ± 3 µm in the heat affected zone (HAZ) of Hardox 450. There is a complex grain size distribution of 13 ± 3 µm and 9.2 ± 3 µm in places in the S355J2C+N HAZ. A heterogeneous structure was formed in the welding center. Vickers microhardness values decreased from Hardox 450 to S355J2C+N metal. The highest hardness value was measured in Hardox 450 base metal and was 311 ± 8 HV. The hardness of the S355J2C+N base metal was approximately 217 ± 8 HV, while the hardness of the weld center was measured as approximately 249 ± 8 HV. Mechanical stress analysis revealed that the yield strengths of base metals were 513 ± 8 MPa and 1464 ± 8 MPa for S355J2C+N and Hardox 450, respectively, the highest tensile strength of the sample extracted from the longitudinal direction of the gas metal arc welding was 899 ± 8 MPa, the highest tensile strength of the sample extracted from the transverse direction was the highest. its tensile strength was 699 ± 7 MPa and showed that it fractured from the S355J2C+N material. Wear test of Hardox 450, S355J2C+N and welded area was performed using a dynamic tester. In the bending test, it was determined that the bending forces of the the maximum forces obtained in the bending tests of S355J2C+N and Hardox 450 steel were 15.67 ± 2 ve 43.24 ± 4 kN while the maximum forces obtained in the bending tests of the welded samples cut from the longitudinal and transverse directions of the gas metal arc welding were 22.06 ± 2 ve 19.65 ± 2 kN, respectively. Comprehensive analyzes for microstructure analyzes carried out with today's technology provided all the details about microstructure. Gas metal arc welding provided good properties such as strength, impermeability and toughness at the junction of two dissimilar metals, and this welding method is appropriate for the successful joining of these two dissimilar metals. Thus, it has been determined that these two metals with different properties can be successfully welded for complex systems.
