Some research was conducted on the conditions that gave rise to the authoritarian personalities at the root of fascism in the 20th century that is the age of wars and mass deaths. One of these is the large-scale research conducted in 1950, known as Authoritarian Personality. Theodor W. Adorno, one of the theorists of the Frankfurt School, is among the thinkers who contributed to this study. Adorno's contribution to the research was published as "The Authoritarian Personality" and was used in critical studies. In this study, Adorno researched what the authoritarian personality is, which he sees among the causes of antisemitism and fascism, and what conditions are effective in the formation of this personality. This article, based on Adorno's work, problematizes authoritarian personality representations in cinema. Authoritarian personality elements were searched and analyzed in the films using sociological criticism, psychoanalytic criticism and ideological criticism in the study. The films named Painted Bird (Nabarvené ptáče, 2019) and The Wave (Die Welle, 2008), which were determined as samples in the study, were analyzed in line with these theoretical discussions. It was concluded that all authoritarian personality traits are represented in both films. The fact that the same result is observed in two different films, set in different countries and depicting events in different social structures, shows that authoritarian personality traits can emerge and turn into a danger when they find a suitable environment. Cinema films that contain the sociological situations of societies also successfully reflect this situation. Background: Stroke is the second most common cause of mortality after ischemic heart disease. The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of silent ischemia in carotid stenosis without acute clinical symptoms by checking ischemia-modified albumin (IMA) level before and 14 days after sten-ting. Materials and Methods: Thirty-two patients who applied to our clinic and did not have acute ischemic stroke findings were included in the study. Patients with diseases that caused an increase in ischemia-modified albumin levels were excluded. Samples taken from the patients before and after stenting were centrifuged and stored. All samples were studied on the same day. Results: Thirty-two patients were included in the study. The mean age of the patients was 66.96±11.27 years. No significant difference was found in IMA levels between patients over 70 and under 70 years of age (p>0.05). It was found that the IMA level before carotid stenting (43.94±20.18) was significantly higher than the IMA level after stenting (22.00±11.34) (p<0.05). Conclusions: This study suggests that there is a silent ischemic process in carotid stenosis even in the absence of clinical findings and that IMA can be used as a non-invasive marker of silent cerebral ischemia. It is understood that the concept of "gerontocracy", which can be defined as the authority of the elderly, has effective roles in shaping social life in modern times as well as in primitive times.. In today's Turkey, traditional culture is a very valuable field of study in order to fully understand the gerontocratic assumptions that continue to exist in areas ranging from politics to bureaucracy, from the family to the business world. Based on the importance of Dede Korkut narratives in terms of reflecting the traditional culture of the Turkish society, in this article, the answer to the question of how gerontocratic forms of domination were used in the organization of the Oghuz society was sought, based on the examples in the Dresden copy of the said corpus. As a result of the findings, the elders who are powerful in the gerontocratic order in the Dede Korkut narratives; it is understood that they are characterized by common adjectives such as "koca", "ata" and "ağa", that they have a prestigious status due to their old age, that they are often seen as a control and approval authority in the functioning of social life, and that they are described as authorities whose knowledge is consulted in solving social problems. It is clear that Korkut Ata is an iconic representative of the gerontocratic form of organization in the narratives. While the prestigious place occupied by the elderly is constantly remembered through ceremonial practices that are easily performed in the flow of daily life, such as kissing hands, it is understood that the elderly are also obliged to assume responsibility in some cases regarding the position that arises from being powerful. The presence of elders, who are only passively evident in a few examples, does not overshadow the gerontocratic forms of domination that are emphasized in a loud tone when depicting the organization of the Oghuzs in the Dede Korkut narratives. Programs to develop occupational health and safety (OHS) standards and strategies focus on the key indicators of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS). Generally, to reveal the current OHS culture levels of organizations and determine a roadmap is the starting point. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the levels of OHS culture of women healthcare workers. There is a high level of female representation in the healthcare sector and according to Communiqué on Occupational Health and Safety Workplace Hazard Classes, human health services are classified as very hazardous/hazardous. Considering the level of risk, female healthcare workers were selected as the sample and it was intended to detect the differences among female healthcare workers. 376 female healthcare workers working in public hospitals in Izmir were included in the research. The study was applied with the survey using the OHS culture scale. As a result of the analysis; it was understood that the OHS culture levels of female healthcare workers differed according to the variables of education level, profession/title and perceptions about the cause of the occupational accident. The positive correlations were defined at different levels between OHS culture variables. It was evaluated that female healthcare workers' OHS culture levels were low. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Lithium-ion batteries play an irreplaceable role in various areas of production and life as an efficient energy storage element. The state of health (SOH) of lithium-ion batteries is critical to the safe operation of the energy storage system. In this study, measurable data from the battery management system, such as voltage, current and temperature profiles that change due to aging, were used. Based on these data, the relationship between capacity and charging profiles is learned by neural networks. The experimental results achieved in this study are based on the NASA lithium-ion battery data set. It has been observed that compared to the LSTM, GRU and BiLSTM methods, which are deep learning methods, the proposed GRU method with attention mechanism is more successful in estimating the health of the battery in terms of average absolute percentage error by up to 35%, 27% and 20%, respectively. The simulation studies were carried out using the deep learning toolbox in the MATLAB environment. In recent years, attention mechanisms have emerged as a powerful tool to improve the performance of time series forecasting models. In this study, LSTM, BiLSTM and GRU, which are used to solve time series problems, were tested on the same NASA data sets, and GRU was preferred because it is faster and simpler than these three methods. Objective: Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a severe hereditary neuromuscular disease. As of December 2021, premarital SMA carrier screening program has begun in our country. The aim of this study is to evaluate knowledge, attitudes and behaviors about premarital SMA carrier screening. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted with volunteers of both genders who applied to Family Medicine Outpatient Clinic of a tertiary hospital between June and September 2022, to have the necessary examinations for the marriage report. The sociodemographic and medical characteristics of the participants, their attitudes towards SMA disease and carrier screening, and their knowledge levels were questioned using the Data Collection Form prepared by us. The scores obtained from the answers given to the questions measuring the level of knowledge about the SMA were converted into a 100-point scoring system and the total score was obtained. Significance was evaluated at the p< 0.05 level. Results: This study was conducted with 154 people, whose average age was 28.16±5.54 (min:18-max:54) and 54.5% (n=84) of whom were male. 6.8% (n=72) were university graduates. 87% (n=134) wanted to be screened for SMA carriage. The knowledge level of the participants about SMA was low in 31.2% (n=48) and high in 24.7% (n=38). The SMA knowledge of women was significantly higher than men (p=0.038). Those who had received information about SMA before had a higher level of SMA knowledge than those who did not. (p=0.012). Of those who stated that they had received information before, 55.2% (n=32) received information from social media, 36.2% (n=21) from doctor/health professionals. Conclusion: The majority of participants had a medium-high level of knowledge about SMA and wanted to undergo carrier screening. However, the knowledge of 31.2% was at a low level. The fact that the knowledge of those who receive information about SMA is higher indicates that the knowledge level of health professionals about SMA should be increased, especially in primary care where screening is performed. The purpose of the study impact of mental and physical fatique in working life and perceived stress on workrelated well-being. This research was currated via the previously developed models by Chalder et al. (1993) Fatigue Survey, Cohen et al. (1983) Perceived Stress Survey and by Schaufeli and Bakker (2003) Work Related Well-Being Survey. The sample of this research constitude 152 research assistants with 50/d status that working at state universities. The reason for selecting this sample, due to time constraints to complete their graduate education, they are exposed to stress and fatigue. In addition, research assistants within the scope of 50/d are not in a permanent staff and they are exposed to stress and fatigue intensely, especially because they are dismissed from the staff at the end of the doctoral education period. According to the statistical analysis conducted within the scope of the research, it was concluded that physical and mental fatigue and perceived stress have a negative effect on the dimensions of work engagement. Aim: The effects of Radical Hysterectomy and Radical Hysterectomy after neoadjuvant chemotheraphy on overall and disease-free survival were investigated in FIGO 2009 Stage 1B2 and higher locally advanced cervical cancer. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study included 119 FIGO 2009 stage 1B2 and locally advanced cervical cancer patients treated in Baskent University Department of Gynecological Oncology between February 2007 and January 2015. The patients were divided into 2 groups according to their treatment plans after they were clinically stratified by gynecological examination and evaluated with imaging techniques. Radical hysterectomy and lymph node dissection were performed in group 1, who would undergo primary surgery. Radical hysterectomy and lymph node dissection were performed after 3 cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in group 2. In the study, overall and disease-free survival between these two groups were investigated. In addition, factors affecting overall and disease-free survival were investigated. Results: The mean age of the patients was 56 (32-85), and the mean follow-up period was 35 (1-100) months. While neoadjuvant chemotherapy was applied to 36 of 119, 83 patients were primary underwent surgery. The 5-year overall survival was 51.7% (56.3 months) in the neoadjuvant group and 73.5% (79.2 months) in the primary surgery group (p=0.03). Disease-free survival was 48.2% (49.2 months) in the neoadjuvant group, while this rate was 61.4% (67.7 months) in the primary surgery group (p=0.17). The overall survival rate of the primary surgery group was significantly higher than that of the patients who underwent surgery after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (p=0.036). Conclusion: In our study, 2 different treatment modalities applied in patients with cervical cancer were compared, and it was determined that the overall survival rate in patients who had primarily radical hysterectomy and lymph node dissection was statistically better than those who underwent radical hysterectomy and lymph node dissection after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy treatment is not a standard treatment in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer, and it was found that it had no effect on overall and disease-free survival in our study.
