Assigning the necessary personnel to the required area in the enterprises is very critical in terms of performance, efficiency and cost. For this reason, while determining the criteria sought in personnel, the way the work is done and the necessary skills need to be considered. This study was carried out in a company that provides service on security systems in Kocaeli province. The company currently provides 4 services. These; camera system, fire system, alarm system and sound system maintenance service. There are 3 teams, each with two personnel, performing these services within the company. Fuzzy AHP method was utilized for team selection. First of all, the general criteria for the work to be done in the teams were determined. Afterwards, these criteria were ranked in order of importance using the Fuzzy AHP method. Then, the final ranking was obtained by evaluating the 3 teams working in the company with fuzzy numbers according to these criteria. In addition, a team-work assignment was made to ensure minimum cost for the teams. Some data was obtained from the company in order to make the assignment. These data are; annual service numbers, annual working hours of the teams, service times of the teams, costs and budget. Afterwards, a mathematical model was created with these values and this model was solved with the LINGO program. The results gave us the optimum team-work assignment. In recent years, also as a result of the pandemic, virtual leadership and virtual teams topics have started to gain importance. In the study, these concepts were discussed and a comprehensive literature research was conducted. In this context, 102 studies, conducted between 2000-2022 and based on the aforementioned concepts, were examined and has been evaluated in general terms. Findings indicate that the studies on the concepts of virtual leadership and virtual teams are generally carried out under 5 themes. These themes are as follows; (1) Studies evaluating the factors that lead organizations to success in the virtual environment, (2) Studies comparing virtual and traditional working styles from various perspectives, (3) Studies encouraging organizations to operate virtually, (4) Theoretical studies on virtual leadership and virtual teams, and (5) Studies focusing on the challenges faced in virtual teams. We live in an unprecedented dynamic world. Technology continues to constantly change the way we communicate, travel, work and live. Change detection is our understanding of change in the world around us. The ability to perceive change is essential in most of our daily and work lives. In this context, the article aims to determine the change perceptions, change strategies and change management styles of industrial entrepreneurs. The data were collected using a semi-structured and in-depth interview method. MAXQDA 2020 qualitative data analysis program was used to analyze the data. According to the results of the analysis, industrial entrepreneurs stated that they perceive change as continuous development and change as team work. It has been determined that industrial entrepreneurs determine their strategies by taking into account the demand and technology while making the change. Participants stated that change brings success, profit and efficiency, and that employees experience fear and adaptation problems during change. This study examines the effects of individualism and collectivism cultural dimensions on perceived team performance by taking account to the mediating role of the level of trust. Hypotheses developed for the purpose of the study were tested in the light of data obtained from 167 team members representing 34 teams in total, 19 from the production sector and 15 from the service sector. Regression analysis was used to analyze the data collected with the questionnaire form. According to the findings, cultural values in both individualism and collective dimensions increase team performance. In the relationship between cultural values and perceived team performance in individualism and collectivism dimensions, there are the mediating role of the trust partially. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: This study was carried out descriptively/cross-sectionally to determine the opinions of midwives regarding spirituality and spiritual care. Material and Method: The sample of the research consisted of 150 midwives working in Kars province. The data of the study were collected between March/May 2019 using the introductory information form and the “Spirituality and Spiritual Care Rating Scale”. In the evaluation of the data, number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, median, minimum, maximum values and Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis analyzes were used. Results: It was determined that 64.7% of the midwives were in the 20-30 age group and working period of 47.3% of them was 1 to 5 years in the study. Spirituality and spiritual care rating scale scores of midwives with 48 working hours per week were significantly higher compared to midwives 72 working hours per week (p<0.05). It was observed that 92.7% of the midwives heard the spiritual care concept while all of them did not have information about it. It was seen in the study that the mean score of the grading of spirituality and spiritual care of the midwives was 55.78}9.106. The mean scores of the three subscales of the scale were found to be morale and spiritual care (33.64}6.15) being religious (8.66}3.52) and personal care (13.48}2.69). The Cronbach α value of the scale was 0.79 within the scope of this study. Conclusion: It was determined in our study that the spirituality and spiritual care levels of midwives were good however they were not at the desired level. Age-long dominance of Turks in the region which is known as Afghanistan, has ended since the second half of the eighteenth century. As a result of this, the new rulers’ pressure over the Turkic peoples and languages in the region also increased over time. When the internal and external difficult conditions that Afghanistan has fallen into recently, added to the pressures, many of the people had to take refuge in foreign countries as immigrants. There were tens of writers an poets between emigrating people. These people reflected their thoughts and emotions of the community which they are a member of, to their works. One of the people reflecting their feelings and thoughts about migration, also called “badargalık”, is the Uzbek poet Muhammed Kazım Emini. These thoughts and emotions are specially of Kazım Emini, one of the important writers and poets of Afghan Uzbek literature, and in general of the Uzbek people to which he belongs. The aim of this study is to thoroughly examine the relationship between organizational learning and intrapreneurship. This study further aims to understand how these two concepts relate to each other and what kind of interdependence condition they are in. For this purpose, data was obtained through face-to-face survey from 150 white-collar personnel working in the logistics companies which operate in Mersin province and which have adopted the concept of learning organization. These data were evaluated using SPSS 20.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) and AMOS 24.0 (Analysis of Moment Structures) programs. As a result of the evaluation, it has been determined that there is a positive and significant relationship between the main independent variable "learning organization" and the main dependent variable "intrapreneurship". Additionally, it has been determined that there is a significant relationship between "the leadership style, participative management, empowerment, flexible organization structure, team work and cooperation, performance assesment and reward system", which are among the subordinate independent variables of learning organization, and the main dependent variable "intrapreneurship". In this research, graduate theses written in Turkey and the world between 1933-2019 in the field of group piano education were examined in terms of different variables and in this context a general picture of the situation of graduate theses was presented. The research data consists of 166 graduate theses in the field of group piano education selected by sampling method available from the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) and Proquest Dissertations and Theses Global databases. The research was intended to contribute to the creation of resources for new studies in the field of group piano education by considering the distribution of graduate thesis studies on group piano education. For this purpose, the distribution of theses according to their types, year of completion, countries and universities, subject areas, research methods used, data collection tools, sample/study groups were examined. The research is a descriptive study and content analysis techniques are used for data analysis. Theses in the field of group piano education were examined and classification of theses according to their subjects, frequency (f) and percentage (%) distributions were made and the representation of the results was explained with the help of relevant tables and figures. The data obtained in the research show that the majority of theses published in the field of group piano education is at the level of doctorate, that the published theses have increased systematically between 1970-2010, that the most studies have been carried out in the University of Oklahoma in the USA, mostly in the field of functional skills in group piano education and that working groups consisting of piano teachers are preferred in most of the researches. Although working conditions have developed very in the workplaces at the present time, the rising competition, unfulfilled requirements and requests caused increasing the incivility diminishing of patience in the relations between the workers and administrators, and this situation consequently caused work stress in workers. At the first stage, incivility, which gives harm to the workers partially, results in a great deal of negative effects in time. The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between the workplace incivility and work stress. The type of the study was a research with hypothesis. Date was collected via the workplace incivility scale of Cortina et al. (2001) and the job stress scale of House and Rizzo (1972) from 263 academicians working at Kafkas University. According to findings, it has been determined that there are positive, middle level and meaningful relationships between first upper superior incivility and colleague incivility; first upper superior incivility and work stress; colleague incivility and work stress. This article aims to analyse, by working on a sample group, how one of the sides, that is the young, see the other side, namely the elderly people. The article tries to understand from which aspects the young people criticize the elderly people, to discuss the observed problems and to suggest solutions. Accordingly, as an applied starting point, a group of young people have been selected for the study. These young people involved in the study as a sample group have especially been chosen from among the university students who are studying at the departments of Gerontology, Social Work, and Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation. They are students who are studying in their first, second, fourth or eighth semester. Consequently, they have already taken compulsory or elective courses on aging and old age and are, consequently, expected to know the subject. These students have been, through the method of question-answer, asked questions about their negative views on elderly people. The article first presents data on the question asked and the answers received from the students. Then, within the framework of the answers, it analyses and discusses the current problematic state of the issue, and finally offers suggestions for the solution of the defined problems. The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceptions of prospective primary mathematics teachers on the concept of activity. The case study design among qualitative methods was followed in this study. The participants were 12 prospective teachers who were fourth graders in the department of primary mathematics teacher training at a state university located in the east of Turkey. For data collection, interview was used. Accordingly, separate semi-structured interview form was developed as data collection tool to investigate the perceptions of prospective teachers on the concept of activity. Content analysis was used as a qualitative research analysis technique for the data gathered through interviews. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained from the study, prospective teachers were able to understand the concept of activity; materials used, games played, active participation, provide better learning, the course is popularized, group work, learning is made, singing and everyday life as examples of applications and teaching methods were seen. In addition, almost half of the prospective teachers stated that they did not take lessons for the concept of activity during their undergraduate education. Purpose: The purpose of the study is to evaluate the attitudes of the health professionals who are part of the surgical procedure, towards interpersonal relationship styles and team work. Materials and Methods: This study was descriptive type. The 126 surgical team members were participated in this study. The data were collected by "Personal Information Form", "Interpersonal Communication Style Scale (ICSS)" and "Teamwork Attitudes Scale (TAS)". Results: The lowest score of the total mean scores of the TAS was obtained by the nurses and the highest score of the total mean scores of TAS and ICSS were obtained by the other health professionals, and that the lowest score of the TAS communication sub-scale was obtained by the physicians. It was determined that the mean scores of the other health professionals obtained from ICSS avoidant sub-scale were significantly higher than the mean scores of nurses and their mean scores obtained from TAS communication sub-scale were significantly higher than the mean scores of nurses and physicians. The mean scores obtained from ICSS dominant style sub-scale of the team members who had worked for 21 years and over, were found to be significantly higher than the other team members. Conclusion: In this direction, it is recommended to plan trainings aimed at improving interpersonal communication skills and teamwork attitudes towards surgical team members, and to make individual and institutional initiatives to overcome existing problems. Taking out a buried corpse from the grave for postmortem examination is called “Exhumation”. Exhumation is a very important procedure, which is not performed frequently during criminal investigation or prosecution in Turkey. Forensic reasons that require this procedure include burial without a burial license, new evidence obtained after burial and suspicion of murder, identification of the deceased person or insufficient initial autopsy results. The aim of this study is to evaluate the exhumation procedures for criminal investigations and prosecutions carried out in İzmir, Turkey between 2011 and 2018 in terms of compliance with legal and judicial anthropological principles. In this context, the exhumation records of the cases whose autopsies were performed by the Morgue Department of Izmir Branch of the Forensic Medicine were evaluated. In our study, there were 66 cases; 42 male (63,6%) and 24 female (36,4%). The mean postmortem period was 364,93 days. The highest rate of exhumation reasons was “burials without dead examination-autopsy and inhumation license” with 45,5% (n=30). The bodies were completely skeletonized in 4 (6.1%) cases. It is a team work to remove the corpses and collect the necessary evidence in the process of exhumation. Although each case has its own characteristics, we believe that it is necessary to apply some common principles and to benefit from the knowledge and experience of experts in different fields according to the need, and that the views, suggestions and contributions of forensic anthropology experts will add great value to the investigations. The group work contributes to the values of social adaptation process of individuals with different cultural values. In this context, the aim of the research, Syrian and Turkish students "Values Education Study Group" to strengthen the perception of value by increasing social cohesion. In this study qualitative research methods was used. Data was collected with purposive sampling techniques and semi-structured interviews from 12 high school students. Group facilitator interviews and group work were written in detail and a thematic content analysis was made. As a result, the Turkish Red Crescent Izmir values held in the Community Center on-site training group work with the Syrian and Turkish high school students; By interacting with peer networks, their awareness on values has increased and contributed to the prevention of peer bullying. Moreover, friendship relations have strengthened as a secondary benefit, contributing positively to the activities of friendships and non-activity friendships. It is recommended that social workers who working in this field and values education should be included among the professional practices of the client groups to ensure social cohesion. In contrast to the expected tasks and responsibilities, the informal role is the model of interpersonal behaviour that a team expects from the team member, based on the impressions they create as they work together. In other words, informal roles are spontaneous roles as a result of the relations of the members of the organization. The aim of this study is to investigate the informal role patterns affecting the efficiency and effectiveness of the organizations in the light of the studies conducted in the literature. In this context, it is aimed to investigate the informal roles of the individuals who are present in the socio-cultural structure in addition to their formal role behaviours. This research is discussed within the framework of four questions. These questions are "What does formal and informality concepts mean in management?", "What are the approaches related to the concept of informality?", "What is the concept of informal role?" and "What kind of informal role patterns occur between the groups and the employees in organizational life and how does it affect the organization?", respectively. As a result of the study, it has been revealed that informal roles have some advantages and disadvantages for organizations. Objective: The aim is to exhibit the opinions of medical members in Erciyes University Medical Faculty on undergraduate medical education and take their views on improving the program. Methods: This descriptive study was conducted between December 2013 and February 2014. Data were collected by survey method. Out of 299 faculty members 95 (32%) filled the questionnaire. Questions were about demographic data (age, sex, marital status, and department) and opinions on training. Results: 65.2% of the faculty members consider that theoretical content is enough whereas 31.5% find it too much. 59.7% find the content of practical training program enough whereas 37.0% find it poor. 57.5% of them state that the first aim of the faculty is to "train qualified general practitioner". 60.0% stated that the students graduate completely gaining the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes. The first three areas specified as well/very well about the student's competence by lecturers were "knowledge gain", "basic clinical skills" and "teamwork". The first three areas specified as bad/very bad were "integration and critical thinking", "access to literature" and "research". "Reduction of the number of students", "educational administration should take training to the first place and should emphasize on it" and "increasing and standardization of the practical lessons" were the there answers given by the faculty members on improving the quality of undergraduate medical education. Conclusion: Approximately one third of the faculty members participated in the study found that theoretical content of the undergraduate medical education is too much and practical training is low. Objective: This study was carried out to determine running nurses workplace psychological violence behaviors compared with the situation, suffering psychological violence behaviors across responses and suffering psychological violence behaviors to reduce or prevent an attempt Mediterranean Region in the center of one university hospitals in the province. Material and Methods: The sample of this cross-sectional descriptive study consists of 166 nurses who are at least one year and agreed to participate voluntarily in the study. Data was collected by "Workplace Psychologically Violence Behaviors Instrument" and the personal information form. Results: 29.5% of the nurses (n=49) were 31 years old and over (mean=28.28±6.32), 81.9% (n=136) of them female, and 86.7% (n=144) of them has to be exposed to psychological violence behavior in the workplace. Working department, team working and managers support were found as related variables with nurses exposed to psychological violence. Conclusion: Approximately, four in every five nurses are exposed to workplace psychological violence behaviors. We recommend planning studies among nurses, to reduce and prevent the workplace psychological violence by increasing awareness. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Born in 1928 in Istanbul, Marulyalı graduated from Istanbul Technical University Architecture Department in 1953. Together with his colleagues from ITU, who later became his associates (Enis Kortan, Avyerinos Andonyadis and Harutyun Vapurciyan), they received various awards in architectural competitions. Following his master's education at Michigan University, Marulyalı became a part of Eero Saarinen and Minoru Yamasaki's design team and contributed to significant projects such as the Twin Towers and Century Plaza. After spending a decade in the United States, he returned to Turkey as a self-employed architect, lectured design studios for 11 years since 2000 in Yeditepe University Architecture Faculty, and received Mimar Sinan Grand Award within the 2020 National Architecture Awards. This study aims to explore the influence of human resource management (HRM) practices and organizational culture on employee performance. The study first examines which of HRM practices affect employee performance then it investigates the effect of the organizational culture types on employee performance. Finally it is looked for the mediation effect of organizational culture on the the relationship between HRM practices and employee performance. According to analysis results, recruitment and selection, team work, training in multiple functions and feedback on performance, as HRM practices affect employee performance positively. It is observed that market culture, as a type of organizational culture, increases employee performance.
