Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder that is characterized by episodes of mania, hypomania and major depression. Manic episodes involve clinically significant changes in mood, energy, activity, behavior, sleep, and cognition. Abnormally elevated, irritable, and labile mood is a core symptom required to diagnose mania. Another core diagnostic symptom of mania is persistently increased energy and activity. Electric shock has many serious consequences in the cardiovascular, renal, neurological, muscular systems and skin. One of these is psychiatric outcomes. In this case report, we aimed to present a 31-year-old patient with no premorbid history and family history to evaluate the manic episode that may be developed after an electric shock. Iatrogenic vascular injury is rarely seen during lumbar disc surgery. These vascular injuries can be diagnosed in the early or late postoperative period. Early diagnosis and treatment has a vital role in such patients. A forty-year-old male patient was referred to our hospital with the diagnosis of iatrogenic vascular injury developed during the early period of a lumbar disc herniation surgery. Hemorrhagic shock, severe acidosis (pH 6.58) and hypothermia were present in the initial evaluation of patient in the emergency room. An emergent operation was performed due to the findings. During exploration, left main iliac artery injury was detected and repaired using a vein graft. Intraoperative shock and acidosis were treated successfully. After postoperative intensive care follow-up, the patient was discharged without any sequel. In conclusion; patients with hemorrhagic shock accompanying severe acidosis can be treated without sequel with early intervention and rapid transfusion of blood and fluids. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Teratomas are rarely encountered. A 17-year-old male patient presented to the emergency clinic with findings of acute abdomen and hipovolemic shock. Massive hemorrhagic blood collection, multiple metastatic lesions in the liver and a bleeding retroperitoneal mass with dimensions of 5×5×3 cm were detected in abdomen at laparotomy. The bleeding mass was excised totally. The pathologic diagnosis was metastatic teratoma. Scrotal ultrasonography revealed a mass with dimensions of 2×1 cm in the right testis. While the investigations proceeded, he died of a new massive bleeding on the postoperative 24th day. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
