The concepts of time and space are two important subjects that scholars have thought about throughout history. However, it cannot be thought that they agreed on this. Philosophers, theologians, and Sufis have approached the issue from their own perspectives. In this study, it was attempted to focus on what Sufis thought about this subject rather than philosophers and theologians. Therefore, the Persian manuscript written by Ushnuwī named "Ğâya al-imkân fî dirâyâti'l-mekân" was chosen as the subject of the article. The study aims to reveal how this work, which is one of the first works to extensively address the topic of time and space in the field of Sufism, approaches the subject. While staying true to the work and not straying from the subject, the opinions of philosophers, theologians, and other Sufis were also included. Ushnuwī, in this work, explained the different dimensions and types of time and space by focusing on the space and time that belongs to Allah. While other Sufis chose the path of "tenzih" (refraining from attributing human-like qualities to Allah), Ushnuwī talked about a unique concept of space and time that belongs only to Allah, different from the concepts of space and time of created beings. In this treatise, Ushnuwī stated that there is a spiritual distance between Allah's space and the space of creatures. He approached the subject from a literal point of view without interpreting Allah's closeness to the creatures. To understand the unity of Allah with the universe, he frequently used the example of the unity of the soul and body. Ushnuwī stated that there was an agreement among the early theological schools regarding Allah's space, and they only disagreed about his essence and attributes. In his treatise, Ushnuwī often referred to himself as a member of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah and criticized philosophers and Mu'tazilites. The author stated that the concept of space and time belonging to Allah was a difficult subject and it was impossible to solve it solely through inspiration or revelation or the assistance of the spirit. He stated that true knowledge could only be obtained by passing the criteria of the Quran, Hadith and the consensus of the ummah. According to Ushnuwī, there are three types of space and time: physical, spiritual, and belonging to Allah. Although there are differences in the space and speed of the physical and spiritual entities, he mentioned that there are constraints, compression, proximity, and distance in these entities. Ushnuwī stated that all of these are established by rational proofs, but he himself solved these issues through spiritual and heartful contemplation. He also pointed out that those who could not reach the way of contemplation should resort to rational proofs. According to Ushnuwī, the soul can reach the space of subtle physical entities by following the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad and continuing to practice spiritual discipline. Moreover, the spiritual soul can even reach the space of subtle physical entities. Ushnuwī, tries to say that tay-ı space and tay-ı time are possible with this. According to Ushnuwī, it is not possible for Almighty Allah to descend to the mentioned places or be with them. For no creature can reach His place. Because His place is so high, no creature can participate in it. For, according to him, the height mentioned is not the height in terms of the aspect understood by the people of the apparent. Because it is possible for creatures to reach the height in terms of direction. However, it is impossible for creatures to reach the height that is in question for Almighty Allah. Finally, Ushnuwī stated that understanding the concept of time with regard to the Almighty Allah is quite difficult and therefore it is best to believe in and surrender to it. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
