Building occupants spend approximately 90% of their lives indoors where they want to have indoor air quality, visual, acoustic, and thermal comfort (which is more dominant). Thermal comfort is assessed by physical factors such as operative air temperature, relative humidity, and air velocity. People’s activity level and clothing level are also effective. Related regulations and standards like ISOEN7730 and EN15251 aim to provide a unified understanding of the matter. Since these studies rely on experimental methods, there are instances where certain scenarios lack experimental support, leading to gaps in the results. Those gaps can be filled with the Fuzzy Logic Method, which evaluates with “degrees of truth” instead of “true or false”. With this study, the level of knowledge on providing thermal comfort can be increased by filling the gaps in the empirical studies and the damage caused by heating-cooling energy to the environment can be reduced with further studies.

3. ESTIMATING THE NOISE-INDUCED HEARING LOSSES UNDER FUZZY ENVIRONMENT

Noise causes many negative effects both in our daily life and working life, reduces our quality of life, and affects our mental health directly or indirectly. The most common consequence of noise exposure is especially permanent hearing loss called noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). NIHL is very prevalent in almost every stage of the mining industry. Therefore, the assessment of noise levels of mining operations and the estimation of NIHLs of employees is an important issue to prevent and minimize them. This study is aimed to the modeling of NIHL prediction at a quarry located in Aksaray, Turkey. Initially, noise levels were measured with a sound level meter for employees working in different positions for the quarry, and daily exposure levels (Lex,8h) were determined. Audiometry tests were also performed on all employees and NIHLs were evaluated and determined by an audiometrist. According to the results, 5 employees had NIHL in this enterprise. A fuzzy inference system (FIS)-based NIHL estimating model implemented on fuzzy logic using the Sugeno inference mechanism was developed. The model predicts NIHLs for given occupation, age, experience, and Lex,8h parameters. To determine the accurate prediction ability of the model, field noise measurements and audiometry test results data were used. The obtained results indicated that the model has accurate a prediction ability with a 94% success rate. This study proposes a method with high predictive ability using fuzzy sets theory, and will be a guide for the top management in considering the damage effects of noise in enterprises.

Turkey's Aegean region is a very suitable region for fruit production in terms of climatic conditions and soil characteristics. Fruit and vegetable production in the Aegean region has an important position in terms of Turkey's agricultural economy. The fruit growing sector has a very important place in Turkey's agricultural economy. The aim of the study is to prevent unbalanced fruit production in the Aegean region and to ensure more efficient fruit growing. In the study, it was aimed to assign a balanced production of fruits grown under different conditions in provinces with different characteristics in the Aegean region. For the assignment problem, the conditions of the cities in the Aegean region and the growing conditions of the fruits are considered together. These conditions are altitude, temperature, soil quality, climate, humidity, labor and irrigation. Conditions for fruit production were analyzed with the AHP method and factor weights were calculated. ARAS and Fuzzy Logic methods were used to solve the assignment problem of fruits. These methods enable to reach the result by digitizing the non-computable features of a particular situation. Aydın, Manisa, Denizli and Afyonkarahisar provinces have been proposed, respectively, for the production of figs, grapes, thyme and cherries, which have high industrial value and export income. The study has shown that unbalanced production can be prevented by assigning fruits and vegetables in this way in every region of the country. As a result, the country's agricultural lands will be used effectively and the contribution of agriculture to the national economy will increase. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

These buildings, which function as important documents for the period in which they were built, and which have managed to preserve their original qualities, have been abandoned as a result of various some factors and have lose their functionality. It is very important to continue to use these original structures, which have since lost their functionality, with re-functioning as opposed to a passive conservation approach. Architectural decision support systems, used to create a solution mechanism can assist architects in deciding on the most appropriate function option for building by systematizing the relationship between spatial analysis of the existing building stock and functional expectations. Accordingly, the results were observed by using fuzzy logic method in order to determine the most suitable function option before the design and construction phases for reuse of the building were started.

Akşehir’in eski evlerinden örnek alan olarak Arife Gürbüz, Vecihi küçük ve Musa Akgöl evi seçilmiştir. Geleneksel mimarinin geleceğe rehber olma özelliğinden yola çıkan bu çalışmada, Akşehir Eski Evleri'nin sürdürülebilir mimariye katkısını gösteren nitelikli bir yerel değer olarak ele alınmaktadır. Bu makale vernaküler mimarinin sürdürülebilirliğini yeni bir yaklaşımla ele almaktadır. Çevresel sürdürülebilirlik kapsamında topografya, sıcaklık ve hâkim rüzgâr parametreleri ele alınmıştır. Bu parametrelere bağlı olarak Akşehir Eski Evleri’nin sürdürülebilirliği özelinde yapılan çalışmalar bulanık mantık yöntemi ile tespit edilmiştir. Bulanıklık kesin olmayan, belirsiz ve arada olma durumlarına sözlü anlatım ile matematiksel karşılık bulmadır. Bu çalışma bulanık mantık yönteminin farklı disiplinler arası alanlarda kullanılmasına yol göstermektedir.

Kömürleştirme işlemi, kömürün hem fiziksel özelliklerinde hem de kimyasal yapısında değişikliklere neden olur. Sorpsiyon kapasitesi, kömürün karakteristik bir özelliğidir. Metan, yeraltı kömür madenlerinde önemli tehtidlerden biridir ve ayrıca kömür madenciliğinden kaynaklanan gaz emisyonlarının çevresel bir sorunudur. Metan içeriği, gaz göçü, birikimi ve üretimi gibi bir dizi sürece bağlıdır. Kalitesi ve miktarı, kömür damarının derecesine ve derinliğine bağlı olarak büyük ölçüde farklılık gösterir. Üretim derinliklerinin artmasıyla birlikte metan, patlama riski nedeniyle önemli bir tehlike haline gelmektedir. Bu nedenle metan içeriklerinin farklı ve değişen çalışma koşullarına göre tahmin edilmesi maden güvenliği açısından önemli bir konudur. Bu çalışmada kömür damarı metan içeriklerinin tahmininde hızlı ve güvenilir bir çözüm sunan Fuzzy Logic yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı, Bulanık Mantık yöntemi ile kömür damarı metan içeriklerini tahmin ederek olası maden kazalarını önlemek için alternatif bir yol önermektir. Model sonuçları yerinde metan içerikleri ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuçlar, Bulanık Mantık modelinin %91 başarı oranı ile güvenilir bir tahmin aracı olabileceğini göstermektedir.

Artificial intelligence (AI)-based technologies assist users in applying the intended action when upper extremity movement cannot be fully provided. Electromyography (EMG), a depiction of muscle activity, offers various advantages when employed with AI-based systems like virtual reality applications and prosthetics controls. In this paper, a fuzzy logic (FL)-based decision-making mechanism is presented in order to provide effective control and improve the prediction performance of the stated systems. In this regard, EMG signals were collected from 30 participants when imitating different seven hand gestures. After the necessary preprocessing and segmentation processes, the Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) method which is the first stage of the Hilbert-Huang Transform (HHT) was applied and Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMF) were obtained. High-resolution time-frequency (TF) images were obtained by applying HHT to the IMFs determined by a statistical selection method. Various distinctive features were extracted from the visualized TF images based on the joint representation of the time and frequency domain. The Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) was then fed these features, which used two alternative clustering approaches. For seven hand gesture classifications, the average accuracy scores for the Subtractive Clustering (SC) and Fuzzy C-mean (FCM) clustering methods were obtained as 93.88% and 92.10%, respectively. The proposed feature extraction method based on TF representation combined with FL techniques yielded encouraging results for the classification of nonstationary and nonlinear biological signals such as EMG. Yâd-ı Mazi highlights Ara Nesil's poem on minor tenderness. The work's expression and content follow Abdülhak Hâmid and Recaizâde Mahmud Ekrem. Style and sense can be generated using Yâd-ı Mazi procedures to prove this claim. Stylistics can be used to conceptualize expression first. However, stylists generally focused on the form of expression and left the sense behind by performing narration-level analyses. However, contemporary stylistics has used stylistics and semiotics data to analyze semio-stylistics and style and sense together. To determine and examine the semantic density on the text's surface, stylistic and semantic possibilities can be taken into account, and fuzzy logic data can be added in semio-stylistics. Fuzzy logic, unlike classical logic, is built on the continuity between 0 and 1, and the literary text generates sense and style in parallel with this continuity. The text's style and sense allow concepts to connect in many ways. Text analysis at different levels is needed for this intersection. Because style and sense are connected, stylistic and semantic choices are more similar. This problem can be analyzed using fuzzy logic in semio-stylistics. Permanent magnet Direct Current (DC) motors are frequently preferred in educational control applications. Many different methods have been developed for the closed-loop control of DC motors. The main purpose of these developed methods is to provide high performance in control. In this study, the angular position control of a DC motor was designed in a simulation environment by using the linear quadratic regulator method with integrator (LQR+I) and fuzzy logic control (FLC) and then successfully tested in real-time. LQR, which is a model-based control method, and FLC, a non-model-based control method, were applied to an experimental system and the results were compared. Control algorithm was generated by rapid control prototyping technic using Waijung library and uploaded to the STM32F4 Discovery kit. In order to observe the controller performances more clearly, different real-time reference signals were applied to the system, and as a result of these signals, both controllers achieved successful results. Leukaemia, a white blood cell cancer, is a costly malignancy that reduces the quality of life and can lead to death in the later stages. Early and accurate diagnosis of this disease, which can be seen in different age groups, affects the treatment process and prevents the progression of the disease. This study aims to classify ALL and CML malignancies, which are the main types of leukaemia. The BCR-ABL gene, which appears due to a mutation in the DNA, is analyzed to distinguish these types, which are genetically based malignancies. In the medical world, evaluations can be made using the PCR technique to distinguish the existing species over the BCR-ABL gene. There are also interdisciplinary studies to reduce the cost and time in the diagnosis and treatment process. In the first stage of this two-stage study, the spectral density information of ALL and CML DNA sequences with different nucleotide lengths is reflected on the spectrograms using signal processing techniques. Then, the spectrograms of ALL and CML malignancies are classified with DGCNN technology, which is a hybrid approach of CNN and GNN technologies. However, due to the different lengths of the nucleotides, clear expressions on the spectrograms could not be obtained. In the second stage of the study, DNA sequences with different lengths are digitized with the entropy-based mapping technique based on codon distributions. Statistical and structural features extracted from these digitized sequences are classified by the adaptive fuzzy logic algorithm, and a study independent of nucleotide length is performed. Torque converters are specific type of hydrodynamic couplings mostly used in automatic transmission systems for torque multiplication. Their hydrodynamic performances have a direct effect on vehicle performance since they transfer power between engine and transmission. Therefore, design and development process of an accurate torque converter plays a crucial role for a vehicle to operate in predicted conditions. In the present study, the effect of some geometric changes at torus cross-section of a torque convertor on hydrodynamic performance was investigated. There is a common design approach for torque converters in the literature which is the perpendicular area to the circulating flow trajectory along the torus section is kept constant. First of all, a torque converter was designed by using this approach. Then, this method was simplified and only the interface areas of the stages which are perpendicular to circulating flow trajectory were kept equal. Performance analyses of these torque converters were carried out by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approach. Results showed that the hydrodynamic performances of two torque convertors are pretty similar to each other. With this simplification, analytical design of the torque converter is simplified. After that, four different torque converters were designed by changing the inner torus section radial locations of the converter which is designed with simplified approach and CFD simulations were also carried out. It is concluded that the changes in the inner torus section radial location have a negative influence on hydrodynamic performance of torque converters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this study, the control problem to be encountered on the axle shaft test system is examined and Adaptive Fuzzy PID (AF-PID) control method is proposed according to the problem to be encountered. The problem with the test system is that the stiffness values of the parts to be tested differ; therefore, the scaling factors of the control method to be applied will need to be self-adjustable during the test. To achieve this, the AF-PID controller has been developed. To compare the performance of AF-PID controller, classical PID and Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) were also tested for axle shaft testing. The developed controllers were simulated on test pieces of various stiffness. ISE and ITSE values which are used for evaluating control performances, were compared for the unit step reference inputs, and error graphs were examined in the sinusoidal reference, which is the life test. However, the fact that there are rarely realized outcomes and that the degree of effectiveness of the precaution applied against any risk is not measured are the indetermanicies encountered in risk assessment. In the literature, there are various risk assesment approaches based on fuzzy logic to handle the uncertainties in specialist evaluation. Therefore, in this study, a neutrophic set based Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method, includes probability, severity and detectability parameters, is proposed for the first time in the literature to handle inconsistencies, subjectivities and indecisions in the risk assessment process. In the proposed method, membership degrees of truth (T), indetarmancy (I) and falsity (F) used in neutrosophic set definition are preferred in the probability, severity and detectability parameters of FMEA method, while different dimensions of expert assessment of a risk and uncertanities regarding risk assessment is taken into account. Mamdani fuzzy inference system is used instead of multiplication in determining risk depending on FMEA parameters. The risk assessment method developed in the study was applied in the chemical industry. The results obtained from the application were compared with classical and fuzzy FMEA. The results showed the success of the proposed method in considering the instabilities and subjectivity-related uncertainties in risk assessment compared to existing methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this study, a new failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) model is proposed for evaluating occupational safety risks. In the classical FMEA, risk priority numbers (RPNs) are calculated by multiplying the risk scores of the occurrence, severity, and detectability. However, RPN numbers generated by classical FMEA have been the subject of severe criticism in the literature. To overcome the drawbacks of the classical FMEA, this study proposes a new Multiple Attribute Decision Making (MADM) model. The proposed risk evaluation model combines the full consistency method (FUCOM) and graph theorymatrix approach (GTMA) under a fuzzy environment. The risk scores of failure models and the weights of risk factors have been obtained using the fuzzy FUCOM method. On the other hand, the RPN value of each failure mode is calculated by utilizing fuzzy GTMA. Fuzzy GTMA considers all possible dependencies among risk factors, which in turn produces more accurate rankings. The fuzzy judgements of the decision makers are aggregated by using the least squares distance method. The proposed model is implemented in a real-life case study and the failure modes are ranked. Bazı meslekler, barındırdığı zorluklar sebebiyle diğer meslek gruplarından ayrışabilmektedir. Ağır sanayi çalışanlarının yaşam kaliteleri, barındırdığı zorluklar sebebi ile önemli bir konudur. Bu çalışmada demir-çelik ve makine sanayinde çalışan 38 ağır sanayi çalışanı ile yapılan anketler değerlendirilerek demografik özelliklerinin yaşam kaliteleri üzerindeki etkisi analiz edilmiştir. Kurulan hipotezler, Kısmi En Küçük Kareler Yapısal Eşitlik Modeli (KEKK-YEM) ve Smart PLS 3 paket programı ile test edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda kabul edilen hipotezleri etki derecelerine göre sıralamak için çok kriterli karar verme tekniklerinden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmada bulanık karar verme yaklaşımı olarak AHP bütünleşik TOPSIS yöntemi kullanılmış ve hipotezlerin etki derecelerine göre sıralamasının KEKK-YEM analizinin sonuçlarını desteklediği görülmüştür. Analiz sonucunda 7 hipotez kabul edilmiştir. Her iki yöntemde de H20 hipotezinin yani eğitim düzeyinin çevresel koşullar üzerindeki etkisinin en yüksek etkiye sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Çalışmamızda ele aldığımız KEKK-YEM analizi ve bulanık AHP bütünleşik TOPSIS yöntemi, ağır sanayi çalışanlarının demografik özelliklerinin yaşam kaliteleri üzerindeki etkisini belirleme probleminde literatürde ilk defa kullanılmıştır. Some professions may be differentiated from other occupational groups due to difficulties. The life quality of heavy industry workers is an important issue due to the difficulties it has. In this study, the effect of demographic characteristics of 38 heavy industry workers working in iron-steel and machinery industry on their life quality has been analyzed. The research hypotheses have been tested with the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) and the Smart PLS 3 package program. Multi-criteria decision making techniques have been used to rank the accepted hypotheses according to their degree of impact. AHP integrated TOPSIS method has been used as a fuzzy decision-making approach and it has been seen that the ranking of the hypotheses according to their degree of impact supports the results of the KEKK-YEM analysis. As a result of the analysis, 7 hypotheses have been accepted. It has been observed that the H20 hypothesis, that is, the effect of education level on environmental conditions, has the highest effect. To the best of our knowledge, KEKK-YEM and fuzzy AHP integrated TOPSIS method have been used for the first time in the literature for the problem of determining the effect of demographic characteristics of heavy industry workers on their life quality.

Gathering job seekers or employers on a single social media platform, LinkedIn allows users to directly reach decision makers through an online profile they create. The increasing competitive environment in today's job market and the difficulty for job seekers to differentiate themselves from their competitors increase the importance of LinkedIn profiles and profile features. The presence of ambiguous, contradictory and subjective information in complex decision-making problems can cause uncertainty. In order to effectively model such decision problems and define uncertainties, fuzzy logic and heuristic fuzzy sets and interval-valued heuristic fuzzy (ADSB) sets, which are high-level extensions of fuzzy logic, are used. In the current study, an integrated approach is proposed in which ADSB clusters and VlseKriterijuska Optimizacija I Komoromisno Resenje (VIKOR) method are used together. In practice, four recruitment professionals who are experts in their fields determined the importance levels of the features on their LinkedIn profiles, and three job seekers were evaluated according to their profiles. The results show that LinkedIn profile attributes are ranked in order of importance as work experience (0,155), summary (0,153), title (0,144), reference (0,136), photo (0,128), share (0,121), follow (0,096), and link (0,065). Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is one of the most important diseases that cause people to die worldwide. Although developments in medicine facilitate the treatment of this disease, there are still some inadequacies in identifying and evaluating risk factors. In this study, various risk factors used in the diagnosis were determined by considering individuals with typical symptoms and complaints related to CAD. In addition, an artificial intelligence system has been developed to determine the CAD risk levels of individuals by using the fuzzy expert system method. The designed system is rule-based, and this rule-based structure was created with the knowledge obtained from medical experts. The system provides self-risk assessment and customized recommendations to reduce individuals' disease risk. Organizations want to manage the future by being positioned correctly in the future with strategic planning, which is a part of strategic management. Strategic planning, which is a proactive approach, is a long-term type of planning and a case of forecasting based on data. It also contains many data that are complex, uncertain and linguistic, without statistical history. Real-life challenges, like strategic planning, are dynamic, unpredictable, and multi-criteria. It is known that the use of artificial intelligence techniques in such problems gives optimum results and minimizes human errors. At the same time, the use of multi-criteria-decision-making methods together with artificial intelligence techniques provides accurate and effective results to the decision maker. Artificial intelligence (AI) applications, which is the phenomenon of today, continue to enter all areas of our lives and its usage area is rapidly spreading. AI techniques are also used in the stages of strategic planning. There are applications of artificial intelligence (fuzzy logic) with SWOT analysis, which is a very common method to determine the current situation in strategic planning. Moreover, the number of models offering solutions with artificial intelligence techniques at all stages of planning from the very beginning to the end is low. In this study, a model proposal is presented for the preparation of end-to-end strategic planning with AI techniques. In the proposed model, strategic planning was examined in four stages as analyses of current situation, strategic concepts, assessment and evaluation. (Strategic planning was examined in four stages in the proposed model: current situation analyses, strategic concepts, assessment, and evaluation.) AI techniques are suggested for each stage. The proposed AI techniques have been chosen from among the most used techniques in the literature. The methods used are of 3 types. The first type is fuzzy logic (FL) which is one of the AI techniques, expert systems (ES), artificial neural networks (ANN), and genetic algorithms (GA). The second type is the combination of delphi technique used in data collection and multi-criteria decision-making methods, which is the decision-making methods, and FL. Fuzzy delphi and fuzzy multi-criteria-decision-making methods. The third type is the use of other AI techniques with FL. Fuzzy ES, fuzzy ANN. The aim of this study is to provide a perspective to organizations and experts that make strategic planning.

Günümüzde eğitim ve iletişim teknolojilerinin gelişmesiyle birlikte bu teknolojiler eğitim alanında yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Özellikle yükseköğretimde bu teknolojiler sayesinde uzaktan eğitim, karma eğitim gibi modeller hızla çoğalmaktadır. Uzaktan eğitim modeli yüz yüze eğitim modeline göre avantajları olduğu gibi dezavantajları da bulunmaktadır. Uzaktan eğitimin yapıldığı ortamın yeterli düzeyde teknolojik donanıma sahip olması, ses akustiği, aydınlatma şiddeti gibi temel bileşenlerin uygun aralıkta olması öğrencilerin uzaktan eğitime bakış açısını olumlu etkilemektedir. Bu çalışmada uzaktan eğitim sistemleri için öğrenci memnuniyet performansı değerlendirme parametrelerine (ses kalitesi, görüntü kalitesi, eğitim teknolojileri) bağlı olarak hesaplamak için bulanık mantık tabanlı bir model tasarlanmıştır. Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Uzaktan Eğitim Meslek Yüksek Okulu bilgisayar programcılığı ikinci sınıf öğrencilerinin katılımı ile uzaktan eğitim sistemi için öğrenci memnuniyeti performans değerlendirme çalışması yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmadan elde edilen veriler geliştirilen bulanık küme tabanlı değerlendirme algoritması ile uzaktan eğitim sistemi için öğrenci memnuniyeti performans değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Çalışmanın ikinci aşamasında; hesaplanan performans değeri ile öğrencilerin genel not ortalama eşleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen veri setinde korelasyon, eğri uydurma, merkezi eğilim ölçüleri ve merkezi dağılım ölçüleri analizi için gerekli hesaplamalar yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuç aşamasında elde edilen tüm veriler bir bütün olarak değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Parametreye bağlı olarak uzaktan eğitim sistemi için öğrenci memnuniyet performansının öğrenci başarısı üzerine etkisi istatiksel yöntemlerle karşılaştırma yapılarak sonuç bölümünde paylaşılmıştır.

Son yıllarda oldukça popüler bir alan olan yapay zekânın alt yöntemlerinden Yapay Bağışıklık Sistemi (YBS) ile Klonal Seçim Algoritması (KSA) üzerine bir çok çalışma yapılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, endüstride geniş bir kullanım alanına sahip kaynak makinası elektrotlarının en uygun değerlerinin bulunabilmesi için Yapay Bağışıklık Sistemi (YBS) algoritması ile, Bulanık Mantık yönteminin bir arada kullanıldığı hibrit bir model önerilmektedir. Gerçekleştirilen çalışmada kaynak sarf malzemesinin daha kaliteli bir ürün olması için gerçekleştirilen Ar-Ge faaliyetlerini hızlandırmak ve maliyetlerini düşürmek amacıyla kaynak parametrelerini optimize ederek kombinasyonlarını veren bir yazılım geliştirilmiştir. Visual Studio ortamında gerçekleştirilen bu çalışma ile farklı kaynak girdi parametreleri kullanılarak kaynak sarf malzemelerinin akma mukavemeti (N/mm²) optimize edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada kaynak üretim Ar-Ge faaliyetlerini hızlandırmak ve maliyetlerini düşürmek amacıyla YBS Klonal Seçim Algoritması (KSA) ile Bulanık Mantık hibrit algoritma yöntemi ele alınmıştır.

With the developing technology, the need for electrical energy is increasing day by day. Many power quality problems such as voltage spikes, voltage sags, harmonics can occur during the distribution of electrical energy. Systems such as STATCOM and DVR are used to correct these problems. Thus, the quality of the energy is tried to be increased. In this study; By connecting a load to a distribution line where voltage sag occurs as an error, the condition and sensitivity of this load against voltage sagging, and then the condition and sensitivity when using DVR as a corrector, were investigated. The situation of DVR against the loads has been analyzed in depth. Relevant data have been transferred to MATLAB / Fuzzy Logic application and analyzed.

Real estate valuation estimates the value of a real estate according to market conditions, taking into account the features that affect its value. While determining the value of the real estate, the valuation should be done in a realistic, accurate and reliable way, taking into account the legal, locational, structural, and environmental characteristics of the real estate. In this study, the fuzzy logic method, one of the artificial intelligence techniques, was used to determine the real estate values. Akşemsettin, Durali Alıç, and Cengiz neighborhoods of Ankara province Mamak district were determined as the study area. The features and market values of 300 residential real estates were obtained and a real estate valuation study was carried out by establishing rules with the criteria affecting the real estate value. As a result of the study, it was observed that the values obtained by using the fuzzy logic method and the market values overlapped by 89.377%. While real estate market values vary between 99.000-925.000 TL, the values obtained by the fuzzy logic method vary between 84.220-883.610 TL. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Yoghurt production was modeled in this study based on different incubation temperatures, inoculum ratio of starter culture and incubation times. Experimental yoghurts were produced in two replicates and incubation final pH values of 343 yoghurt samples were determined. Resultant pH values were used in fuzzy logic modeling system. Fuzzy logic modelling was conducted in two sections: fuzzy rules were set and membership function was generated in the first section and defuzzification was conducted in the second section. Three different fuzzy sets (triangle membership function) were used for fuzzification of incubation temperature, inoculum ratio of culture and incubation time values. Since there were 7 membership functions of input parameters, 343 (7 x 7 x 7) rows of rule were generated. Mamdani method was used to tabulate fuzzy rules. Three trapezoidal sections of membership functions generated for defuzzification were used and membership function values were determined with the use of weighted average method. Incubation final pH values of 343 samples were assessed in modeling study and model outputs were compared with the expert decisions. Matlab (R2016b) software was used to assess model performance and model general performance was calculated as 90.27%. Automated yoghurt production lines should be designed in the future and put into service of food industry for present model to be used in industrial scale. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

However, it is highly risk and uncertainty to identify innovative and high value-added projects from among the many R&D projects in their portfolio. In particular, there are many criteria in the evaluation of projects. The weights of importance given to these criteria at the evaluation stage are very critical. Therefore, the importance of objective evaluation of R&D projects is increasing day by day. In this context, evaluating R&D projects by using fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making methods that eliminate uncertainty and risks will make this process easier. In this study, it is aimed to prioritize the criteria considered in the evaluation of R&D projects. In the study, firstly, the criteria taken into account in the evaluation of R&D projects were determined through the literature and expert opinions. Then, the criteria were prioritized by importance weights by using the Pythagorean fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, which is flexible and powerful in solving the uncertainties that may arise in the evaluation of R&D projects. Some professions may be differentiated from other occupational groups due to difficulties. The life quality of heavy industry workers is an important issue due to the difficulties it has. In this study, the effect of demographic characteristics of 38 heavy industry workers working in iron-steel and machinery industry on their life quality has been analyzed. The research hypotheses have been tested with the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) and the Smart PLS 3 package program. Multi-criteria decision making techniques have been used to rank the accepted hypotheses according to their degree of impact. AHP integrated TOPSIS method has been used as a fuzzy decision-making approach and it has been seen that the ranking of the hypotheses according to their degree of impact supports the results of the KEKK-YEM analysis. As a result of the analysis, 7 hypotheses have been accepted. It has been observed that the H20 hypothesis, that is, the effect of education level on environmental conditions, has the highest effect. To the best of our knowledge, KEKK-YEM and fuzzy AHP integrated TOPSIS method have been used for the first time in the literature for the problem of determining the effect of demographic characteristics of heavy industry workers on their life quality. In this study, the control of traffic signaling with embedded system and fuzzy logic was performed. Red light durations are optimized by recording the data at the traffic intensive intersections as traffic density data according to the days of the week and hours of the day. For the hours when the intensities are variable, the number of vehicles and waiting times are recorded in all branches of the intersections. Inspired by these data, a model for the intersection was created in the computer environment by creating the approximate number of vehicles entries. The fuzzy model used in simulation is the Mamdani method. The method used in defuzzification is the centroid, that is, the center of gravity. Achieved results and tables are given. Intersections to be used within the scope of the thesis will be interchanges that will come one after another. As a result of the comparisons between the method used in this study and the other methods, it was concluded that the fuel savings are higher, the mount, the amount of CO2 prevented from being released is higher and the traffic flow is faster. It has been shown that an average of 455,844.78 liters of fuel can be saved per year for two consecutively selected intersections in total, and 46826 trees per year can be saved, together with the prevention of 1,030.2 tons of CO2 emissions. In this study, a popular problem, the Vehicle Routing Problem, has been studied. Simulated annealing, a meta-heuristic method, was used to solve the problem. In general, the simulated annealing algorithm is an iterative process according to the variable temperature parameter, which mimics the annealing process of metals. The biggest problem with this method for our study is that it randomly generates the initial solution used to start the algorithm. For this reason, since the search space used to reach the optimum solution is large, the solution time (or number of iterations) will increase. With a better initial solution, it will take less time to reach the optimum solution. Since the optimum solution we want to reach is the minimum distance, the routes are clustered using fuzzy c mean to improve the initial solution. Due to fuzzy logic, the case that each data can be included in more than one cluster between 0-1 will approach the optimum solution since it will change the initial solution in each solution of the algorithm. By using the same data and the same parameters, the initial solution is improved with fuzzy c mean using a random initial solution, and the problem is solved with Simulated Annealing. Fuzzy c mean method reduced the initial search space by 57%. Therefore, Fuzzy c mean gave results closer to the optimum solution in the same solution time and the same iteration number. Intercity bus firms aim to achieve maximum customer satisfaction by providing safe, quality and comfortable trips to their passengers. In the study, as a result of the literature review and interviews with experts working in the sector, six main criteria are determined as service, comfort, safety, transportation, financial features and customer relations in order to evaluate the quality expectations of the intercity bus firms. Five subcriteria are determined for each main criterion. Then, quality expectations are weighted with Analytical Hierarchy Process, which is one of the multi-criteria decision making method considering these criteria. Fuzzy logic approach is used to reflect the subjective expressions of the experts to the problem. By comparing these 30 sub-criteria, an importance ranking is determined for the quality expectations of the passengers. There are plenty of criteria that affect the success of process management studies, which are of critical importance in terms of ensuring general efficiency measurement and traceability in enterprises, in reaching their final aims. In this article, a study was conducted to determine the Critical Success Factors (CSFs) that need attention in order to maintain successful process management and to analyze these factors with multiple criteria. During the identification of CSFs, case studies were explored as well as in-depth literature research. In the analysis of the determined CSFs, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique, which is integrated with the spherical fuzzy numbers because it focuses on the hesitancy degree of decision-makers, was employed. According to the results, the human-factor in process management was determined as the most important CSFs, while the appropriate determination of the team was the most important sub-CSFs. It is foreseen that the practical and theoretical information presented as a result of multi-criteria analysis in this study is a guide for companies and professionals who want to carry out their process management studies successfully. The engineering design process is a comprehensive process in which many parameters such as functionality, manufacturability, aesthetics, and cost are considered and optimized. Systematic design methods can be used to take into account these parameters and not to overlook the details. However, the shortening of the product lifetimes has made it necessary to shorten the design and development processes. Artificial intelligence technologies can help designers speed up selection and evaluation processes in the early design phase. This study, it is aimed to evaluate the design options by including the fuzzy logic method in the systematic design approach of Pahl and Beitz. The design is partially evaluated in previous studies using fuzzy logic method in design. In this study, the design is examined in all its aspects. The validity and effectiveness of the method were demonstrated by a wheelchair conceptual design. In addition, the presented method has been compared with the traditional conceptual design method in terms of its results. In both methods, the same design option was determined as the ideal design at the end of the evaluation steps. With the fuzzy logic method, the evaluation process was completed in a shorter time than the classical conceptual design process. In addition, the rating scale between 0-100 increases the sensitivity of the results. The use of the fuzzy logic method in conceptual design provides fast, sensitive, and comprehensive evaluation besides being simple and easy to understand. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bu çalışmada tam spektrum görüntü üzerinden ray kusurlarının belirlenmesine yönelik peridinamik tabanlı bulanık mantık algoritması geliştirilmiştir. Örnek uygulama için tam spektrum ray kusuru görüntüsünün, gri skala tanım kümesinde Gaussian maskelemesi gerçekleştirilmiş, görüntünün farklı boyut ve mertebelerden türev alma işlemleri peridinamik sayısal türev alma metodu kullanılarak elde edilmitşir. Alınan türevler bulanık mantık sisteminde değerlendiriltikten sonra görüntünün RGB ve HSV skalaları üzerinde üç temel dalga boyu dönüşümü yapılmıştır. Bulanık mantık çıktısı üzerine tatbik edilen en etkin üç dalga boyu ile ortak noktaların tespiti gerçekleştirilerek ray kusurlarının daha belirgin bir şekilde ortaya çıkması sağlanmıştır. Ayrıca üç farklı tam spektrum örnek ray kusur görüntüsü ile geliştirilen algoritma test edilip, literatürdeki mevcut kenar bulma algoritmalarına göre daha iyi sonuç verdiği tespit edilmiştir.

In this study, Fuzzy Logic models have been introduced to predict flexural strength values of cement mortars. For this purpose, reference cement mortar containing only Portland–composite cement, and mixtures having metakaolin replacing 5, 10, 15 and 20% by weight of the Portland–composite cement were produced. The mortars’ flexural strength values were established at 2, 7, 28 and 56-day with standard cement test. In addition, Fuzzy Logic prediction models were created by using fuzzy triangular number coefficients and Gauss membership function to predict flexural strength of cement mortars. Subsequently, experimental with fuzzy results are compared. Accordingly, the correlation coefficient of flexural strength of cement mortars for fuzzy triangular number coefficients and Gauss membership function were found 0.84 and 0.87, respectively. These results show that between experimental and fuzzy results are a good harmony, and can be successfully applied in civil engineering applications.

Teknolojik gelişmeler sayesinde asfalt üretim sıcaklıkları düşürülerek sıcak karışımlara benzer performanslı karışımlar elde edilebilmektedir. Sıcak karışım asfaltların malzemelerinin yani agrega ve bitümün yüksek sıcaklıklarda ısıtılması nedeniyle yarattıkları olumsuz çevresel etkiler, üretim maliyetlerinde meydana gelen sürekli artış ve hammadde kaynaklarındaki azalma nedenleriyle asfalt üretim sıcaklıklarının düşürülmesi eğilimi ve malzemelerin geri kazanımının popülerliği giderek artmaktadır.Köpük bitüm ve geri kazanılmış/doğal agrega kullanılarak uygulanan köpük bitümle geri kazanım yöntemi, çevresel ve ekonomik olarak avantajları olan bir yöntemdir. Köpük bitümle uygun bir karışım hazırlayabilmek için ilk aşama, karışımda kullanılacak bitümün en ideal köpürme özelliklerinin (genleşme oranı ve yarılanma süresi) doğru şekilde belirlenebilmesidir. Bu nedenle çalışmada, farklı asfalt çimentolarının köpürme özellikleri deneysel olarak belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca deneylerde kullanılan bitümlerin köpürme özellikleri Bulanık Mantık ve ANFIS yöntemleri kullanılarak modellenmiş ve sonuçlar deneysel olarak elde edilen verilerle kıyaslanmıştır.Elde edilen veriler ışığında kullanılan tüm bitümlerin farklı köpürtme su yüzdeleri için kullanımlarının literatürde önerilen minimum köpürme özelliklerini sağladığı ve kullanılan tahminleme yöntemlerinin benzer sonuçlarla deneysel verileri desteklediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

In construction projects, highly rebar waste occurs in the unplanned construction rebar cutting made on the construction site. Therefore, in this study, an optimization method is offered to minimize the reinforced concrete rebar waste before the construction phase of the building. Using this method, it is aimed to further reduce the amount of waste if the rebar production lengths are produced at different lengths. The optimization method used in the study was made with CutLogic1D software which based on genetic algorithm and combined with a fuzzy logic system. Optimization was performed with rebar quantities calculated on 3 different projects on a small, medium and large scale. Also, in addition to the standard 12-meter production length, the most optimum rebar waste rates were determined in the direction of the analysis made with alternative different production lengths and sets of these lengths. It is observed that these waste rates are greatly reduced by the analysis. Especially in small, medium and large-scale constructions, trim loss in S3 and S4 alternative production length sets reach minimum values with approximately 1%. According to the proposed optimization methods and production alternatives in this study, Turkey's yields from rebar will be approximately 120597.585 tons, taking into account the optimum rebar waste rates.
