2. Psychometric Properties of the Student-University Match (SUM) Questionnaire in Turkish = Üniversite-Ögrenci Eslesme Ölçegi'nin (ÜÖEÖ) Türkçe psikometrik özellikleri

- Abstract
The aim of this research is to adapt the Student-University Match (SUM) Questionnaire into Turkish. The scale was developed by Wintre vd. (2008) in order to measure how well-matched freshmen students perceived themselves as compatible with universities during their transition period to university at their first year. The scale measures the matching characteristics of the student's individual goals and needs and the opportunities provided by the university. The scale consists of 17 items within the scope of the social dynamics of the university, academic difficulties, program eligibility and physical environment. The high scores obtained from the scale indicate the perception of student-university positive match whereas the low scores indicate the negative-matching perception. In parallel to the development of the original scale, data from the 698 first year university students who began education in different universities of Turkey. SUM Questionnaire, University Life Scale and Personal Information Form were applied. Cronbach's Alpha Reliability Coefficient was determined as 0.85 for Social, Personal and Environmental Match sub-dimension of the 17 items of SUM; it was determined as 0.83 for Academic and Intellectual Match subdimension, and 0.90 for the whole scale. Obtained findings support that the items of the SUM Scale homogeneously measure the same psychological structure at the level of whole scale and sub-dimensions, and it is a valid and reliable scale.

3. Readiness for Organizational Change Scale: Validity and Reliability Study = Örgütsel Degisime Hazir Olma Ölçegi: Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Çalismasi

- Abstract
Readiness for organizational change has been extensively studied in the extant literature over the past years, and scholarly attention towards it continues to increase. Turkish researchers also utilize readiness for organizational change concept to examine the change practices enacted by Ministry of National Education. The purpose of this study is to conduct a cross-cultural adaptation of Readiness for Organizational Change (RFOC) scale into Turkish education setting. The participants of the current study included 335 teachers employed at K-12 public schools located in different provinces of Turkey. To test the construct validity of Turkish-adapted RFOC scale, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was performed. The results of CFA revealed that four-factor RFOC model provided good fit with the data. The internal consistency estimates of RFOC in terms of Cronbach Alpha ranged between 0.69 and 0.89. The reported estimates indicated that Turkish form of RFOC scale can be regarded as a reliable and valid instrument to measure change-readiness level of school teachers in Turkish context.

4. Investigating the Students' Perceptions of the Democratic Values of Academicians=Ögretim Elemanlarinin Demokratik Degerlerine Yönelik Ögrenci Algilarinin Incelenmesi

The aim of the study is to investigate how university students perceive academicians' democratic values, and whether their perceptions on it differ significantly according to certain variables. Designed as a descriptive quantitative research, this study employs of 248 students studying at the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Usak University as its participants. "The Scale of Students' Perceptions of the Academicians' Democratic Values" was developed and utilized for the study by the researcher. The resulting 6-dimension structure explains 62,831% of the phenomenon in total. In addition to the construct validity, Cronbach's Alpha Internal Consistency Coefficient was calculated and it was found, 927. The academicians' perceived level of having democratic values was found to be 2,43. The findings indicated that the academicians had democratic attitudes at low levels based on the students' perceptions. They attributed much more importance to "respecting institutional rules and regulations" and "giving importance to equality" compared to other four dimensions. The academicians give least importance to the "democratic role modelling behaviours." Furthermore, the results indicated that there were statistically significant differences according to some demographic "variables."

- Abstract
The aim of this study is to evaluate the work-life balance scale developed by Fisher, Bulger and Smith in 2009 among female physicians and to show, through confirmatory factor analysis, that the scale provides convergent and discriminant validity and has construct validity. The scale was adapted to Turkish by Ekinci and Sabancı in 2021. In this study, it is aimed to show that the scale has convergent and discriminant validity in demonstrating its construct validity, unlike the Turkish adaptation study, by taking into account the CR, AVE, √AVE MSV and ASV criteria. The research was conducted with 181 volunteer female physicians who are members of the Female Physicians Education Support Foundation. First, exploratory factor analysis was conducted to obtain the 17-item, 4-factor structure of the scale, and it was seen that the dimensions explained 69.494% of the total variance. Cronbach's alpha internal consistency coefficient was calculated as 0.861, and the scale was found to be highly reliable. First-level and second-level multi-factor confirmatory factor analyzes were conducted to test the scale's suitability for the factor structures determined by the hypothesis. Δx²/df, RMSEA, SRMR, GFI, NFI, IFI and CFI fit indices obtained as a result of CFA were evaluated and it was revealed that the first level multi-factor model had a good fit. By calculating the CR, AVE, √AVE, MSV and ASV values of the proposed model, it has been shown that the scale provides convergent and discriminant validity and that it can be used as a valid and reliable measurement tool in determining the work-life balance of female physicians. - Abstract
The ambivalent sexism theory states that sexism comprises hostile and benevolent beliefs and that benevolent sexism is a second-order factor consisting of protective paternalism, complementary gender differentiation and heterosexual intimacy. The subdimensions of benevolent sexism toward women have recently piqued people’s interest. The Turkish version of the ambivalent sexism inventory’s (ASI’s) construct validity should be reexamined in light of this apparent interest in contemporary studies. Accordingly, in the current study, the aim is to test the preferred structural model in which protective sexism was defined as a second-order factor consisting of protective patriarchy, complementary differentiation between genders and heterosexual intimacy. Moreover, measurement invariance analysis will be used to test the stability of the scale’s structure in different samples. The data of 1803 participants from different studies conducted between 2009 and 2019 (1194 women and 593 men, 16 unidentified) were merged. Findings of the confirmatory factor analyses indicated that the four-factor solution (i.e. hostile sexism and three subfactors of benevolence) fitted the data better than the other models (i.e. one-factor and two-factor models, and the preferred structural model). Explanatory factor analysis via exploratory structural equation modeling revealed a two-factor solution composed of benevolence and hostility, but the findings also underlined two psychometrically weak items. Finally, measurement invariance analyses demonstrated full invariance between private and public university samples, and an invariance between women and men samples except for sample means. Only the means of the samples differed in the women-men comparison, but in a theoretically predicted way, and men had higher scores in all subscales except for complementary gender differentiation. In sum, our findings provided significant support for the construct validity and measurement invariance of ASI while raising questions about the theoretical construct measured and the items needed to be revised. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the "Willingness to Self-Censor (WTSC)" scale developed by Hayes et al. (2005a). 566 students from a university in Turkey participated in the study. In order to test the construct validity of the WTSC scale, Rosenberg's Self-Esteem Scale (1965) was included in the survey. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with Satorra-Bentler Scaled X2 estimation was conducted to analyze the factor structure of the WTSC scale. Results attested to the unidimensional factor structure of the WTSC Scale. Further, we assessed the correlation between the latent factors (WTSC and Self-Esteem) in a latent variable measurement model. Findings revealed that the willingness to self-censor as a construct is statistically correlated with but conceptually distinct from the construct of self-esteem, providing tentative evidence for the construct validity of the scale. - Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study was to test the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of Physical Self Inventory (PSI) among university students. Methods: One hundred and eighty-seven females and 106 males, totally 293 university students (Mean age 21.97±1.71 years) participated in this study. The Turkish version of PSI, Physical Self-Description Questionnaire (PSDQ), and Social Physique Anxiety Scale (SPAS) were administered to participants in a group setting. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to test construct validity of PSI-Turkish version. In addition, Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated to see relationships between PSI-Turkish and PSDQ subscales for concurrent validity and between PSI-Turkish subscales and SPAS for convergent validity. Cronbach's alpha coefficients were calculated to determine reliability. Results: CFA results provided good fit index values for the model with 24 items indicating similar factor structure with the original scale's six-factor structure. In terms of concurrent validity, it was found positive and statistically significant relationships between PSI-Turkish and PSDQ subscales ranging from 0.65 to 0.84. In addition, statistically significant and negative correlation coefficients were found between social physique anxiety and PSI-Turkish subscales, showing convergent validity. These coefficients ranged from -0.23 (physical strength) to -0.45 (physical attractiveness). These findings revealed that concurrent and convergent validities of the PSI-Turkish were supported. Internal consistency coefficients of the PSITurkish subscales ranged from 0.55 (physical attractiveness) to 0.89 (sport competence). Conclusion: It can be concluded that PSI-Turkish version is a valid and reliable instrument to measure physical self-perception. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: Therapeutic factors are one of the important mechanisms providing change in group therapy. Assessing therapeutic factors give information regarding group processes and helps group therapists conduct the group more effectively. In this study, we aimed to examine the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Therapeutic Factors Inventory—Short Form (TFI-SF) to assess therapeutic factors in group settings. Methods: A total of 128 group members who completed cognitive behavioral group therapy (CBT) for different problems and psychodrama groups participated in this study. IFE-SF and the Group Climate Questionnaire (GCQ) were applied. Construct validity, convergent validity, group differences methods for validity analysis, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, and item-total correlation analysis for reliability analysis were used. Results: According to the results of confirmatory factor analysis for construct validity; when 1 item was deleted, the 4-factor model had acceptable goodness of fit values. For convergent validity, there was a significant positive correlation between the subscales of IFE-SF and the subscale of GCQ. The results of multivariate analysis of variance showed that the CBT and psychodrama groups did not differ in terms of TFI-19 subscales. Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficients were found to be between 0.57 and 0.87, and item-total correlation values were in the acceptable range. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the Turkish version of İFE-SF is a valid and reliable tool to assess therapeutic factors in a group therapy setting. © 2021, Istanbul Universitesi. Bu çalışmanın amacı; az gören bireylerde rekreatif faaliyetlere katılmanın önündeki engellerin ve az gören bireylerin algılanan streslerinin incelenmesidir. Bu doğrultuda Rekreatif Faaliyetlere Katılımın Önündeki Engeller ölçeği ve Algılanan Stres ölçeğinden oluşan anket formu 125 az gören bireye uygulanmıştır. Anket kapsamında kullanılan ölçek maddeleri arasındaki içsel tutarlılık Cronbach alpha katsayısı ile ölçülmüştür. Çalışmada Rekreatif Faaliyetlere Katılım Engelleri ölçeğinin yapısal geçerliliği ölçmek amacıyla faktör analizi uygulanmıştır. Rekreatif Faaliyetlere Katılım Engelleri değişkenleri ve Algılanan Stres arasındaki ilişkinin kuvvetini ve yönünü belirlemek amacıyla korelasyon analizi yapılmıştır. Rekreatif Faaliyetlere Katılımın Önündeki Engeller boyutlarının Algılanan Stres üzerindeki etkisini belirlemek amacı ile regresyon analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre az gören bireylerin Algılanan Stres düzeylerini etkileyen Rekreatif Faaliyetlere Katılımın Önündeki Engeller değişkenleri Psikolojik ve Sosyal Yetersizlikler, Maddi Yetersizlikler ve Fiziksel Yetersizlikler olarak belirlenmiştir. Algılanan Stres ile Psikolojik ve Sosyal Yetersizlikler ve Maddi Yetersizlikler boyutları arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki belirlenmiştir. Regresyon analizinde elde edilen bulgulara göre, az gören bireylerin Algılanan Stres düzeylerini etkileyen Rekreatif Faaliyetlere Katılım Engelleri değişkenleri Psikolojik ve Sosyal Yetersizlikler ve Maddi Yetersizlikler olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu kapsamda az gören bireylerin de bu faaliyetlere katılıp kazanımlardan faydalanmalarını sağlamak amacıyla az gören bireyin ailesi ve çevresinin daha duyarlı olması ve yerel yönetimlerin bu engellere yönelik geliştirici düzenlemeler gerçekleştirmeleri önerilebilir., The aim of this study is to examine the barriers to participation in recreational activities and perceived stress of the people with low vision. In accordance with this purpose, a questionnaire, consisting of the Barriers to Participation in Recreative Activities and the Perceived Stress scales, was applied to 125 people with low vision. Cronbach’s alpha calculated to internal consistency of the scale items. In order to test construct validity, exploratory factor analysis has applied to barriers to participation in recreational activities data set. Correlation analysis was conducted to determine the strength and direction of the relationship between the barriers to participation in recreative activities variables and perceived stress. Regression analysis was conducted to determine the effect of the dimensions of barriers to participation in recreative activities on perceived stress. According to the findings, the variables of Barriers to participation in recreative activities, which affect the perceived stress levels of individuals with low vision, were determined as psychological and social disabilities material disabilities and physical disabilities. Positive relationship was found between psychological and social disabilities and material disabilities. According to regression analyse, psychological and social disabilities and material disabilities have positive effect on barriers to participation in recreational activities. In this context, in order to enable individuals with low vision to participate in these activities and benefit from the gains, the family and environment of the individual can be more sensitive and local governments can make improvements for these barriers.

The economic fluctuations experienced in recent years have affected the construction industry as all other industries. The construction sector in Turkey is the leading sector of the economy. Every year, job opportunities in the construction sector motivate students to study at the civil engineering departments at the tertiary level. In this study, a survey was distributed to 370 civil engineering students to measure their level of awareness of the career choices, and to determine their career expectations and goals. The results obtained from the survey were evaluated in terms of percentage-frequency and the median results were presented. The students were asked about their post-graduation occupational preferences, which were analyzed through the Thurstone's case V technique. The exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and construct validity analysis were applied to the data and the results were discussed. The hypothesis tests revealed a significant difference by previous work experience, the love of profession, and the status of the country and sector., Son yıllarda yaşanan ekonomik dalgalanmalar tüm sektörleri olduğu gibi inşaat sektörünü de etkilemiştir. Ülkemizde inşaat sektörü, ekonominin lokomotif sektörü konumundadır. İnşaat sektöründeki yoğun iş imkânı, her yıl pek çok öğrencinin inşaat mühendisliği bölümünü seçmesinde önemli rol oynamaktadır. Bu çalışmada, inşaat mühendisliği bölümü öğrencilerinin meslek seçimi konusundaki bilinç düzeyini ölçmek, mesleki beklentilerini ve kariyer hedeflerini belirlemek amacıyla 370 öğrenciye bir anket çalışması uygulanmıştır. Anket çalışması sonucu elde edilen veriler, yüzde-frekans cinsinden değerlendirilmiş ve medyan sonuçları verilmiştir. Öğrencilere mezun olduktan sonra çalışmak istedikleri alanlar sorulmuş ve Thurstone tekniğine göre analiz edilmiştir. Mesleki beklentiler anketine açımlayıcı faktör analizi, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ve yapı geçerliliği analizleri uygulanmış ve sonuçlar tartışılmıştır. Yapılan hipotez testleri sonucunda, öğrenciyken iş deneyimine sahip olma ve üniversitelere göre meslek sevgisi ve ülke ve sektör durumu faktörlerinde anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur.

The purpose of this study is to adapt the Mathematical Thinking Style (MTS) scale to Turkish, and to examine mathematical thinking styles of students by gender. The MTS scale was developed by Rita Borromeo Ferri at Kassel University in the scope of her 2011/2012 project, “Mathematical Thinking Styles in School and Across Culture (MaTHSCu).” With this scale, it can be determined which integrated, visual/pictorial, and analytic/formal thinking styles are preferred by students. After examining the psychometric structure of the Turkish form of the scale, it has been shown that mathematical thinking styles can be determined by latent class analysis (LCA). The study was comprised of 336 participants studying in Grades 9 and 10 in Ankara. The construct validity of the scale was examined by factor analysis, and the adaptive scale was found to have the same structure as the original scale. As a result of the LCA, it has been determined that students can be divided into three homogeneous groups with high classification reliability in compliance with the theoretical structure. The study found that the students mostly have an integrated thinking style. Female students had a more analytic thinking style compared to boys, and male students had a more visual thinking style compared to girls. In addition, the findings show that the MTS scale is a valid and reliable measuring instrument for the Turkish language, and that the MTS of students can be determined using LCA with a high level of confidence. The determination of students’ mathematical thinking styles by LCA to be within the bounds of possibility constitutes the original contribution of this study to the literature., Bu çalışmanın amacı Matematiksel Düşünme Stili Ölçeği’nin Türkçeye uyarlanması ve öğrencilerin matematiksel düşünme stillerinin cinsiyete göre incelenmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda öncelikle Matematiksel Düşünme Stili (MDS) Ölçeğinin Türkçeye uyarlaması yapılmıştır. MDS Ölçeği “Rita Borromeo Ferri” tarafından Kassel Üniversitesi’nde “Mathematical Thinking Styles in School and Across Culture (MaTHSCu)” 2011/2012 projesi kapsamında geliştirilmiştir. Bu ölçek ile öğrencilerin bütünleşik, görsel/resimsel ve analitik/biçimsel düşünme stillerinden hangilerini tercih ettikleri belirlenebilmektedir. Ölçeğin Türkçe formunun psikometrik yapısı incelendikten sonra örtük sınıf analizi ile matematiksel düşünme stillerinin nasıl belirlenebileceği gösterilmiştir. Araştırmanın katılımcıları Ankara ilinde 9. ve 10. sınıflarda öğrenim gören 336 öğrencidir. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliğine faktör analizi ile bakılmıştır ve uyarlanan ölçeğin orijinal ölçek ile aynı yapıya sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Yapılan örtük sınıf analizi sonucunda, teorik yapıyla uyumlu olarak öğrencilerin yüksek sınıflama güvenirliğinde üç homojen gruba ayrıldığı belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın bulgularına göre öğrencilerin daha çok bütünleşik düşünme stiline sahip oldukları görülmüştür. Kız öğrencilerin erkeklere göre daha çok analitik düşünme stiline ve erkek öğrencilerin ise kız öğrencilere göre daha çok görsel düşünme stiline sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca bulgular MDS Ölçeğinin Türk Dili için geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğunu ve örtük sınıf analizi kullanılarak yüksek güvenirlik düzeyinde öğrencilerin matematiksel düşünme stillerinin belirlenebildiğini göstermektedir. Öğrencilerin matematiksel düşünme stillerinin olasılık temelinde örtük sınıf analizi ile belirlenmesi bu çalışmanın literatüre özgün katkısını oluşturmaktadır.

The aim of the research is to adapt the "Sport Engagement Scale" (SES) developed by Guillen and Martinez-Alvarado (2014) to the Turkish and to examine its validity and reliability. The original Sport Engagement Scale consists of 12 items and 3 sub-dimensions. The scale is a 7-point Likert type scale and extreme degrees are scored as "1=Hardly Ever",…, "7=Almost Always". The scale does not contain any adverse items. The sub-dimensions are “Vigor”, “Dedication” and “Absorption”. In the application part of the research, as the first operation, the original scale was translated into Turkish and the Turkish form was prepared by considering the suggestions of 6 experts the language equivalence of the scale was analyzed by using correlation analysis. The construct validity of the scale was discussed in the context of exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The reliability of the scale was examined by calculating Cronbach α coefficients and by test-retest method. In determining the criterion validity, the relationship between the scale and the athlete burnout scale was examined. Data obtained from a total of 1218 athletes were used in conducting all analyzes. The study group in question was reached through convenience sampling and the scale was applied to the athletes online. According to the findings, it was determined that the Turkish scale had language equivalence; the scale explained 67,59% of the total variance and consisted of 10 items and 2 sub-dimensions. These sub-dimensions were "Vigor" and "Absorption". According to the fit index values obtained as a result of the confirmatory factor analysis, a good fit with the data was observed. The Cronbach α coefficient of the whole scale was calculated as 0,918; Cronbach α coefficients of sub-scales are 0,916 and 0,778. Accordingly, it was determined that the scale had high internal consistency. Finally, it was determined that the scale and its sub-dimensions were negatively and moderately correlated with the athlete burnout scale and its sub-dimensions as expected, and the scale was found to have criterion validity. In conclusion, it was determined that Turkish version of the Sport Engagement Scale is a valid and reliable scale., Araştırmanın amacı, Guillen ve Martinez-Alvarado (2014) tarafından geliştirilmiş olan “Spora Bağlılık Ölçeği”nin Türkçe’ye uyarlanarak geçerliğinin ve güvenirliğinin incelenmesidir. Orijinal Spora Bağlılık Ölçeği 12 madde ve 3 alt boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Ölçek 7’li Likert tipinde bir ölçektir ve uç dereceler “1=Hiçbir Zaman”,…, “7=Her Zaman” şeklinde puanlanmaktadır. Ölçekte ters anlam içeren bir madde bulunmamaktadır. Söz konusu 3 alt boyut; “Dinç Olma”, “Adanmışlık” ve “Odaklanma” şeklindedir. Araştırmanın uygulama kısmında İlk işlem olarak orijinal ölçek Türkçe’ye çevrilmiş ve 6 uzmanın önerileri dikkate alınarak Türkçe form düzenlenmiştir. Ölçeğin dil eşdeğerliği korelasyon analizinden yararlanarak incelenmiştir. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliği açımlayıcı faktör analizi ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi bağlamında ele alınmıştır. Ölçeğin güvenirliği Cronbach α katsayıları hesaplanarak ve test-tekrar-test yöntemiyle incelenmiştir. Ölçüt geçerliğinin belirlenmesinde ise ölçeğin sporcu tükenmişliği ölçeği ile arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Tüm analizlerin yapılmasında toplam 1218 sporcudan elde edilen veriler kullanılmıştır. Söz konusu çalışma grubuna, kolayda örnekleme yoluyla ulaşılmış ve ölçek sporculara çevrimiçi olarak uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, Türkçe ölçeğin dil eşdeğerliğine sahip olduğu tespit edilmiş; ölçeğin toplam varyansın %67,59’unu açıkladığı ve 10 madde ile 2 alt boyuttan oluştuğu belirlenmiştir. Bu alt boyutlar “Odaklanma” ve “Dinç olma” boyutları olmuştur. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda elde edilen uyum indeksi değerlerine göre verilerle iyi derecede uyum gözlenmiştir. Ölçeğin tamamının Cronbach α katsayısı 0,918 olarak, alt boyutların Cronbach α katsayıları ise 0,916 ve 0,778 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Buna göre, ölçeğin yüksek iç tutarlılığa sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Son olarak, ölçeğin ve alt boyutlarının sporcu tükenmişliği ölçeği ve alt boyutları ile beklenildiği gibi negatif ve orta düzeyde ilişkili olduğu tespit edilmiş ve ölçeğin ölçüt geçerliğine sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, Spora Bağlılık Ölçeği’nin Türkçe uyarlamasının geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğu belirlenmiştir.

The aim of this study is to adapt Trainers’ Pedagogical Competencies Scale in Young Athletes (Pädagogischer Kompetenzmaßstab des Trainers im Nachwuchsleistungssport-PKTN), developed by Zetter (2008), to the sample of Turkish young athletes and examine pedagogical competency perceptions of young athletes taking place in the different branches related to their trainers according to the different variables. Davis technique was used for language and content validity in the analysis of the data. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used for construct validity, and t-test and one-way analysis of variance were used for comparison between groups. In the results of the confirmative factor analysis (DFA) of Turkish form made though the data obtained from 461 young athletes taking place in 4 different branches (X2 /sd =3,89 RMSEA=0.079), although data compliance with 6-factors model of PKTN consisting of the sub-dimensions of “empathy and attention”, “hindering support or solidarity”, “positive feedback”, “social support”, “democratic training climate”, and” target-oriented training” is seen to be supported, it is seen that it has a similar structure to original scale. As a result, it is seen that PRTN is a valid and reliable measuring scale that is suitable for using in the relevant studies in measuring the pedagogical perceptions of Turkish athletes. In the second stage of the study, 505 young athletes taking place again in 4 different branches were reached, and young athletes were examined according to the variables of gender, age and gender of trainers. As a result of analyses, in the perceptions of young athletes related to pedagogical competencies of their trainers, a significant difference was seen in favor of the female athletes in their behavior related to empathy and attention, positive feedback, social support, and target–oriented training., Bu çalışmanın amacı, Zetter (2008) tarafından geliştirilen Genç Sporcularda Antrenör Pedagojik Yeterlik Ölçeğinin (Pädagogischer Kompetenzmaßstab des Trainers im Nachwuchsleistungssport-PKTN) Türk genç sporcu örnekleminde uyarlanması ve farklı branşlarda yer alan genç sporcuların antrenörleri ile ilgili pedagojik yeterlik algılarının farklı değişkenlere göre incelenmesidir. Verilerin analizinde dil ve kapsam geçerliliği için Davis tekniği kullanılmıştır. Yapı geçerliliği için Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi (DFA), gruplar arası ortalama karşılaştırması için t testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Türkçe formun 4 farklı branşta yer alan toplam 461 genç sporcudan elde edilen veriler üzerinden yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonuçları (X2 /sd =3,89 RMSEA=0.079) PKTN’nin empati ve dikkat, destek veya dayanışmanın engellenmesi, pozitif geri bildirim, sosyal destek, demokratik antrenman iklimi ve hedef odaklı antrenman alt boyutlarından oluşan altı faktörlü modeli ile veri uyumunun desteklendiği görülmekle birlikte özgün ölçekle benzer bir yapıya sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak PKTN’nin Türk sporcuların antrenörlerinin pedagojik algılarını ölçmede, ilgili araştırmalarda kullanılmaya uygun geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu görülmüştür. Çalışmanın ikinci aşamasında ise yine 4 farklı branşta (hentbol, voleybol, futbol, basketbol) yer alan toplam 505 genç sporcuya ulaşılmış ve genç sporcuların cinsiyet, yaş ve antrenörün cinsiyeti değişkenlerine göre incelenmiştir. Analizler sonucunda genç sporcuların antrenörlerinin pedagojik yeterlikleri ile ilgili algılarında, empati ve dikkat, pozitif geri bildirim, sosyal destek ve hedef odaklı antrenman davranışlarında kadın sporcuların lehine anlamlı bir fark görülmüştür.

27. Validation of the Turkish parent supervision attributes profile questionnaire

Aim: The most common cause of death in childhood is unintentional injury. Most childhood injuries occur when children are under the supervision of caregivers. There is no valid and reliable instrument for measuring the parents’ supervision attributes in Turkey. The aim of this study was to adapt the Parent Supervision Attributes Profile Questionnaire to Turkish. Material and Methods: This research was methodological. The data were collected through a questionnaire that consisted of 11 questions about the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the family and the Turkish Parent Supervision Attributes Profile Questionnaire. The Questionnaire, developed by Morrongiello and House, is a 5-point Likert-type scale and consists of 29 items. High scores obtained from the scale, which has no cut-off, indicate a high supervisory behavior. The language adaptation and content validity of the scale were completed by experts. Confirmatory factor analysis was used for construct validity. Reliability was tested by internal consistency coefficients. Results: Five hundred sixty people participated in the study, 81.9% of whom were mothers. The mean age of the mothers was 33.8±4.6 years and the mean age of the fathers was 37.2±5.1 years. The percentage of university graduates was 56.8% among mothers and 53.9% among fathers. According to the confirmatory factor analysis, the fit index values were as follows: Standardized Root Mean Square Residual =0.097, Goodness of Fit Index =0.80, Root Mean Square Error of Approximation =0.089, Comparative Fit Index =0.88, Non-Normed Fit Index =0.87. The fit index values were moderate and confirmed 4-factor structure. It was found that the internal consistency coefficient calculated for reliability was 0.75 for the whole scale and ranged between 0.57 and 0.79 for the subscales. Conclusion: The Turkish Parent Supervision Attributes Profile Questionnaire is a valid and reliable measurement tool. Further research is need-ed to determine the current situation regarding supervisory behaviors. © 2020 by Turkish Pediatric Association.

Praetorianism is when a person or group interferes with their liberties and takes them under control by considering the goodness or interests of another person or group. Praetorianistic leaders intend to have control over all aspects of their employees' lives. With this character, they can make business life unbearable. This study aims to develop a data collection tool that can be used regarding the level of praetorianistic leadership behaviors of managers. The main working group of the study consisted of 983 teachers working in public schools in Istanbul. Exploratory Factor Analysis was used to define the factors of the scale. Cronbach's Alpha and Compound Reliability coefficient were used to conclude reliability. The construct validity of the scale tested by two-stage hierarchical Confirmatory Factor Analysis. In the two-stage approach, first the measurement model and then the structured model were examined. In addition to these studies, the explained mean-variance of each subscale was calculated and the validity of the combination and decomposition of the model was determined. As a result, the Praetorianistic Leadership Scale was consisting of three dimensions (restrictive, directive, and authoritarianism). The scale is capable of measuring the perception of the praetorianistic leadership levels in managers. Besides, the scale is thought to make an important contribution to the literature of management sciences., Praetoryanizm, bir kişi veya grubun, başka bir kişi veya bir grubun iyiliğini veya kendi çıkarlarını düşünerek onların özgürlüklerine müdahale etmesi ve onları kontrol altına almasıdır. Praetoryanist liderler, çalışanlarının hayatlarının her alanında kontrol sahibi olma niyetindedirler. Bu karakterle onlar, iş yaşamını çekilmez kılabilirler. Bu çalışmanın amacı yöneticilerin praetoryanist liderlik davranışlarına sahip olma düzeylerine ilişkin kullanılabilecek bir veri toplama aracı geliştirmektir. Araştırmanın ana çalışma grubu ise, İstanbul’daki resmi okullarda görev yapan 983 öğretmenden oluşmaktadır. Ölçeğin faktörlerini belirleyebilmek için Açımlayıcı Faktör analizi kullanılmıştır. Güvenilirliği belirleyebilmek için Cronbach’s Alfa ve Bileşik Güvenilirlik katsayısı kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliği, iki aşamalı hiyerarşik doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile test edilmiştir. İki aşamalı yaklaşımda, öncelikle ölçme modeli, ardından yapılandırılmış model incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmalara ek olarak her bir alt ölçeğin açıklanan ortalama varyansı hesaplanarak modelin birleşim ve ayrışım geçerliği de belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak Praetoryanist Liderlik Ölçeğinin, üç boyuttan oluştuğu (yönlendiricilik, kısıtlayıcılık, yetkecilik) belirlenmiştir. Ölçek yöneticilerdeki praetoryanist liderlik düzeylerine ilişkin algıyı ölçebilecek niteliktedir. Ayrıca ölçeğin yönetim bilimleri alanyazınına önemli bir katkı sunacağı düşünülmektedir.

Eşitsizlikher toplumda kısmen de olsa görülmekte olup, aile, sosyal hayat, kamusal alan,eğitim örgütleri ya da iş hayatı gibi toplumun birçok değişik kurumlarındaortaya çıkabilmektedir. Toplumun değişik kurumlarında ortaya çıkan bueşitsizlik toplumun bazı fertlerini daha güçlü kılmaktadır. Toplumdakifertlerin birbirleri ile eşit olmadığı anlayışına dayanan güç mesafesi kavramı,bir ülkenin kurum ve kuruluşlarında daha az güce sahip üyelerin gücün eşitdağıtılmadığını kabul etme düzeyini ifade etmektedir. Örgüt içerisinde gücüneşit olmayan dağılımından kaynaklanan güç mesafesi örgütsel yaşamda önemli birkavram olup, karar alma, iletişim, etkileşim gibi örgütsel süreçler açısındanoldukça önemli bir kavramdır. Bu bağlamda, bu araştırmada çalışanların güçmesafesi algılarını tespit etmeye yönelik bir ölçek geliştirmek amaçlanmıştır.Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığında görev yapmakta olanilkokul, ortaokul ve lise öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada, açımlayıcıve doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri yapılarak ölçeğin yapı geçerliliği sınanmışolup açımlayıcı faktör analizi 401 öğretmen ile, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ise601 öğretmen ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yapılan faktör analizleri sonucundaölçeğin, katılım, hiyerarşi ve erişim olmak üzere 23 madde ve 3 boyuttan oluşanbir yapıya sahip olduğu ortaya konulmuştur. Bu üç faktörün açıkladığı toplamvaryans oranı %56.65 olup, bu yapı DFA ile doğrulanmıştır. Ölçeğin DFA analizisoncunda uyum değerleri, x2/sd = 2.8, RMSEA=.06, NNFI=.93; CFI=.94, RMR=.05;GFI=.91 ve AGFI=.90 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ölçeğin, pilot uygulama sonrasıyapılan güvenirlik analizi sonucunda, Cronbach Alfa değerinin .91 olduğu, altboyutlarda ise katılım boyutunda α=.92, ulaşım boyutunda α=.88, hiyerarşiboyutunda ise α=.83 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca, DFA için 601 katılımcıdantoplanan verilerle yapılan güvenirlik analizinde ise, ölçeğin Cronbach Alfadeğerinin .94 olduğu, boyutlarda ise katılım alt boyutu α=.91, ulaşım altboyutu α=.89, hiyerarşi alt boyutu α=.81 ve olarak tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmaneticesinde öğretmenlerin okuldaki güç mesafesi algılarını ölçmek içinkullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir veriler elde edilebilecek bir ölçekgeliştirilmiştir., Inequalityis seen in many societies and can occur in many different institutions of thesociety such as family, social life, public sphere, educational organizationsor business life. This inequality in different institutions of the societymakes some members of the society stronger than others. The concept of powerdistance, which is based on the understanding that individuals in society arenot equal to each other, expresses the level of acceptance of the fact thatless power is not distributed equally in a country's institutions andorganizations. The power distance that stems from unequal distribution of powerwithin the organization is an important concept in organizational life and itis a very important concept in terms of organizational processes such asdecision making, communication and interaction. In this context, this study wascarried out to develop a scale to determine employees' perceptions of powerdistance. The study group consists of primary, secondary and high schoolteachers working in the Ministry of National Education. The construct validityof the scale was tested by using exploratory and confirmatory factor analyzes.As a result of factor analysis, it was revealed that the scale had 23 items and3 dimensions: participation, hierarchy and access. The variance ratio explainedby these three factors was 56.65% and this structure was confirmed by DFA. Atthe end of the DFA analysis, the fit values of the scale were x2 / sd = 2.8,RMSEA = .06, NNFI = 93; CFI = 94, RMR = .05; GFI = .91 and AGFI = .90. Inaddition, as a result of the reliability analysis, it was found that Cronbachalpha internal consistency values for the scale was .92 after expletory factoranalysis. It was also found that Cronbach alpha internal consistency values forthe scale was .94. after confirmatory factor analysis. As a result of thestudy, a valid and reliable scale was developed which can be used to measureteachers' perceptions of power distance at school.

Bu çalışmanın amacı Creed ve Hood (2015) tarafından geliştirilen Kariyer Hedef Tutarsızlık Ölçeği’nin Türkçeye uyarlanmasıdır. Çalışmada öncelikle ölçeğin Türkçeye çeviri çalışmaları yapılmış ve dil geçerliği test edilmiştir. Çalışma grubunu 147 (%71) kadın ve 60 (%29) erkek olmak üzere toplam 207 üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcıların sınıf düzeyleri ise 1 ile 4 arasında (X = 2.64; s = 1.13) değişmektedir. Veriler toplandıktan sonra doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmış (x2/df = 2.37, GFI = .92, IFI = .95, CFI = .95, NFI = .92 AGFI = .87, TLI = .93 ve RMSEA = .080) ve ölçeğin güvenirlik analizi için Cronbach’s Alfa iç güvenirlik katsayısı (a = .92) hesaplanmıştır. Ölçüt geçerliği için Özden ve Sertel-Berk (2017) tarafından uyarlanan yirmi madde ve üç alt boyuttan oluşan Kariyer Stresi Ölçeği ile Telef (2013) tarafından uyarlanan Psikolojik İyi Oluş Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Kariyer Hedef Tutarsızlık Ölçeği ile diğer ölçekler arasındaki uyumu test etmek için korelasyon analizi yapılmış ve iki ölçekten alınan puanların uyum sağladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ölçeğin Türkçe formunun ayırt edici bir şekilde ölçüp yapıp yapmadığı test etmek için % 27’lik alt-üst grup puan ortalamalarını farkının anlamlı olup olmadığını incelemek için bağımsız gruplar t-testi ile yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak ölçeğin ayırt edicilik özelliğine sahip olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular alan yazın ışığında tartışılmıştır., The aim of this study is to adapt the Career Goal Discrepancies Scale developed by Creed and Hood (2015) into Turkish language. In the study, first of all, the scale was translated into Turkish and its language validity was tested. After this step, the construct validity of the scale was examined by using confirmatory factor analysis with the data collected from 154 university students. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed (x2/df = 2.37, GFI = .92, IFI = .95, CFI = .95, NFI = .92 AGFI = .87, TLI = .93 ve RMSEA = .080) and the reliability of the scale was assessed through Cronbach's Alpha internal reliability coefficient (a = .92). For the validity of the criteria, Career Stress Scale consisting of twenty items and three sub-dimensions adapted by Özden and Sertel-Berk (2017) and Psychological Well-being Scale adapted by Telef (2013) were used. In order to test the discriminative validity of the Turkish form, the independent groups t-test was used to determine whether the difference of the mean scores of the 27% sub-upper group was significant. As a result, it was found that the scale significantly discriminated the two groups. The findings were discussed in the light of the literature.

The study focused on examining predictive indicators of improved achievement of students’ in Mathematics in Kontagora Metropolis of Niger State, Nigeria. Three research questions and hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The study adopted the correlational design with a population of 3,789 senior secondary school two (SS2) students in seven (7) selected secondary schools in Kontagora Metropolis. Purposive sampling techniques was used to select 789 senior secondary two (SS2) students who were preparing to take West African Examination Council (WAEC) from 2018/2019 academic session. The research instrument for this study was a researchers’ design questionnaire tagged “Improved Achievement in Mathematics Questionnaire (IAMQ).” Face, content and construct validity were adopted to validate the instrument by three experts, two in Test and Measurement and one in Mathematics Education and the reliability of the instrument was established with split-half reliability method. The reliability coefficient obtained ranged from 0.78 to 0.86 which depict that the instrument was a valid measure of the construct. The data collected were subjected to descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. Findings revealed that adequate concentration, time management and persistent concentration significantly predict students’ academic achievement in mathematics. It was recommended among others that workshops, quiz programs and competitions on time management in relationship with the study of mathematics should be held by different schools on the need to invest and manage time properly.

Amaç : Bu çalışmanın amacı; sağlık çalışanlarınınsessiz kaldığı konuların neler olduğunu, sessizleşme nedenlerini vesessizleşmenin sağlık çalışanları açısından algılanan sonuçlarını ortayakoymaktır. Yöntem : Araştırmanın evrenini Ankara’dafaaliyet gösteren bir kamu hastanesinde görevli 884 sağlık çalışanı,örneklemini ise 276 sağlık çalışanı (doktor, hemşire, diğer sağlık personeli veidari personel) oluşturmaktadır.Bulgular : Sağlıkçalışanlarının en fazla yönetsel ve örgütsel sebeplerden ötürü (3,10±0,92),yönetim sorunları (2,65±0,96) ve çalışanların performansı (2,64±0,88)konularında sessiz kaldıkları bulunmuştur. Sağlık çalışanları, sessizliğinperformans ve sinerjiyi engelleyen sonuçlar (3,60±0,77) doğuracağı fikrinekatıldıklarını ifade etmişlerdir. Bu bağlamda, yöneticiler öncelikle işgörenlerinedeğer vermeli, onları dinlemeli, sorunları ile ilgilenmeli, işe ilişkinkaygılarını yok etmeye çalışmalıdır., Importance of the physical and mental capacity ofmanpower in the provision of health services and the idea that the concept oforganizational silence will become more important with the effect of employeemotivation and performance indicates the focus of this study.In Turkey, studies regarding organizational silence ofhealth care employees mostly conducted with nurses, approximately 50%. 42% ofthis studies conducted with the participation of all staff in the organizationand 8% of this studies conducted with both physicians and nurses (Bayın et al.,2015). Studies conducted with all staff in the organization investigate thereasons of organizational silence (Alioğulları, 2012; Çınar et al., 2013),types of organizational silence (Deniz et al., 2013; Aktaş ve Şimşek, 2013),and the consequences of this concept with reasons (Afşar, 2013). There is noresearch in the literature that studies the subjects which employees remainsilent, reasons of silence and perceived results of silence with all staff inthe organization. In addition to these, current study examines whether the resultsdiffer according to individualistic and demographic variables and with thisfeature the study becomes more original.The study conducted in one of thestate hospitals in Ankara. There are 884 staff in the hospital from variousoccupations (physicians, midwives/nurses, other healthcare personnel,administrative personnel). Instead of using sampling methods, researchers havetried to reach all staff in the hospital. Totally 291 questionnaire werecollected due to reasons such as leave of absence (such as sickness, birth,annual leave), shifts, and unwillingness to participate in the study. 15 of thecollected questionnaires excluded because of physicians, 98 midwives/nurses, 67other healthcare personnel and 70 administrative personnel participate the studyand this total number of 276 health care workers included in the studyaccounted for the 31.2% of the hospital population. Thequestionnaire developed by Çakıcı (2008) were used to collect data. TheQuestionnaire consist of two parts; first one is Personal Information Form forindividual and demographic information and second part is OrganizationalSilence Scale.SPSS 21.0 (Statistical Package for the SocialSciences) were used to analyze collected data. In the data analyzing process,frequencies and percentages were used to reveal the descriptive findingsrelated to the individual and demographic characteristics of the staff thatparticipate in the research. After this step, validity and reliability analysiswere applied to the scales used in the study. In the next step, mean andstandard deviation descriptive statistical methods were used to related to thesub-dimensions of the scales used in the study. In order to determine whetherthe scales and sub-dimensions used in the study differ according to the individualand demographic characteristics of the participants, the significance test(Standard t test) and one-way analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA) were used.If there was a significant difference between the groups, Scheffe test, whichis one of the Post-hoc tests, was used to compare all possible linearcombinations between the groups in order to find out from which group thesignificance was caused. When the individual and social-demographiccharacteristics of the participants were examined, it was seen that big part ofthe participants (59.1%) were women. 85.1% of the participants were married,50.7% of them are 38 of age and under, 49.3% of them are 39 age and above. Interms of working experience of participants in the specific hospital; 60.5% of theparticipants were working for 6 years and less, remaining 39.5% of them wereworking of 7 years and more. In terms of educational levels, 19.9% ofparticipants had primary and high school degrees, 26.5% had associate degree,36.6% had undergraduate degree and 17% had graduate education degrees. It wasseen that 14.9% of the participants were physicians, 35.5% were midwives /nurses, 24.3% were other health care staff and 25.4% were administrative staff.In terms of managerial position, it was seen that 17.8% of the participantswere in the managerial position and 82.2% of the participants were in thenon-managerial positions.As a result of the construct validity analysis of thescales used to measure subjects that employees remain silent, reasons of silenceand perceived results of silence: Subjects that employees remain silentdimension is consist of ‘Working Opportunities and Responsibilities’,’Management Problems', ’Employee Performance’, ‘Ethical Issues' and'Improvement Efforts' sub-dimensions. Reasons of silence dimension is consist of’Administrative and Organizational Causes‘, ’Fears about Work and Fear ofIsolation’, ‘Lack of Experience’ and ‘Fear of Damaging Relationships’sub-dimensions. Perceived results of silence dimension is consist of ‘ResultsAffecting Performance and Synergy‘, ‘Results causing Staff Unhappiness’ and‘Restrictions to Improvement and Development’ sub-dimensions.In this research, it is determined that, healthcarestaff stays mostly silent about management problems (2.65±0.96) and staffperformance (2.64±0.88), however healthcare staff gave lowest average toethical issues dimension (1,79±0,73). According to this, it can be said thathospital staff do not remain silent or rarely remain silent, especially inethical issues (abuse, molestation, etc.) and they remain silent most likely inproblems caused by management and other staff. Results of the reasons forremain silence, the highest average was given to administrative andorganizational reasons (3.10 ± 0.92) and the lowest average was given to lackof experience (2.39 ± 0.89). According to this results it can be said thatadministrative and organizational reasons are basic reasons of organizationalsilence. In the perceived results of silence dimension highest score was givento ‘Results Affecting Performance and Synergy’ (3.60±0.77) sub-dimension andlowest score was given to ‘Result Causing Staff Unhappiness’ (3.31±0.87)sub-dimension. In other words, employees believe that remaining silent createsconsequences that affects performance and synergy.When the relation between organizational silencescores and demographic variables examined for each dimension statisticallysignificant results were found according to sub-dimensions. Özbilinçlilik duyguları kişiler arası ilişkilersırasında deneyimlenen, düşünce ve davranışları düzenleyen, sosyal olarakistenmeyen davranışları engelleyen ve bireyleri ahlâka uygun davranışlardabulunmaya teşvik eden duygulardır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Ergenler için ÖzbilinçlilikDuygulanımları Testi (EÖDT)’nin Türkçe uyarlamasını yapmak ve psikometriközelliklerini incelemektir. Araştırmaya 10-18 yaş aralığında olan 547 sağlıklıgönüllü alınmıştır. Katılımcılara Sosyodemografik Veri Formu, Çocuk Depresyon Ölçeği (ÇDÖ), Çocuklarİçin Durumluk-Sürekli Kaygı Envanteri (ÇDSKE)`nin Sürekli Kaygı alt ölçeği (ÇDSKE-S)ve Ergenler için Özbilinçlilik Duygulanımları Testi (EÖDT) uygulanmıştır. Ölçeklerin toplanmasından sonra tekrartest uygulaması için gönüllü olan 29 ergene aynı takma isimleri kullanmalarıistenerek EÖDT testi 15 gün sonra tekraruygulanmıştır. Veriler Mann-Whitney U, Spearman’s Rho, Wilcoxon ve Cronbach’s alfa testlerikullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Ergenler için Özbilinçlilik Duygulanımları Testi (EÖDT)alt ölçeklerinin iç tutarlılığının ve test-tekrar test güvenilirliğinin yüksekolduğu bulunmuştur. Testin yapı geçerliliğinde faktör boyutlarının utanç,suçluluk, dışsallaştırma-utanç, dışsallaştırma ve ayrılma olarak beş altölçekli yapıda olduğu görülmüştür. Bu çalışmayla EÖDT’nin kabul edilirpsikometrik özelliklere sahip olup, Türkiye’de yürütülen araştırma ve klinikuygulamalarda kullanılabilir nitelikte olduğu söylenebilir., Emotions ofself-consciousness are feelings experienced during interpersonal relationships,regulating thoughts and behaviors, preventing socially undesirable behaviorsand encouraging individuals to act ethically. The aim of this study was toinvestigate the Turkish version of the Test of Self-Conscious Affect forAdolescents and to examine their psychometric properties. The study groupconsisted of 547 healthy individuals whose age between 10-18 years old. Allsubjects included in the study filled out the Sociodemographic Data Form,Children's Depression Inventory (CDI), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory forChildren Trait form (STAIC-T) and Test of Self-Concious Affectfor Adolescences. Afterthe collection of the scales TOSCA-A was admistered again 15 days later to 29adolescents who were volunteer using the same nicknames. The data was analyzedwith Mann-Whitney U test, Spearman’s Rho, Wilcoxon and Cronbach’s alfa. The internal consistencyand test-retest reliability of the Test of Self-Conscious Affect ForAdolescents (TOSCA-A) subscales were found to be high. In the constructvalidity of the test, the factor dimensions were found to be five sub-scalestructures: shame, guilt, externalization-shame, externalization anddetached. According to the presentstudy, we can say that TOSCA has acceptable psychometric properties and can beused in clinical practice and research conducted in Turkey.

Bu çalışmada farklı örneklem büyüklüklerinde, farklı faktör yük değerlerine sahip ve çok boyutlu veri setlerinin yapı geçerliklerinin belirlenmesinde faktör analizi, kümeleme analizi ve öz düzenlemeli haritalar yöntemlerinden elde edilen yapı geçerliği kanıtlarının karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma için, R programında simülatif veriler üretilmiştir. 3, 5 ve 7 boyutlu, 0.4, 0.6 ve 0.8 faktör yük değerlerine sahip 1000000 gözlemlik dokuz veri seti üretilmiş ve her bir veri setinden 100 iterasyonla n=250 n=500 ve n=1000 büyüklüğünde örneklemler seçilmiştir. Elde edilen 2700 örnekleme MATLAB programı ile faktör analizi, kümeleme analizi ve öz düzenlemeli haritalar yöntemleri uygulanmış ve hedeflenen yapıyı doğru belirleme oranları yüzde olarak hesaplanarak karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre, faktör yük değerinin hedeflenen yapının doğru belirlenmesinde önemli bir ölçüt olduğu, faktör yük değerleri ne kadar yüksekse hedeflenen yapının daha iyi temsil edildiği görülmüştür. Çalışma kapsamında değerlendirilen üç farklı yöntemin de düşük faktör yüklerinde ve küçük örneklemlerde çok iyi sonuçlar vermediği, var olan yapıyı yeterince güçlü bir şekilde ortaya koyamadığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca öz düzenlemeli haritalar yöntemi, boyut belirlemede ve yapı geçerliği çalışmalarında, yapı geçerliği kanıtlarını destekleyici yeni bir yöntem olarak kullanılabileceği sonucuna varılmıştır In this study, it is aimed to compare the proofs of construct validity obtained from factor analysis, clustering analysis and self-organizing maps for multi-dimensional data sets with various sample size and factor loadings. For this aim, simulative data have been generated by using R programming environment. Nine different data sets with 3, 5, and 7 dimension, and 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8 factor loadings for each have been generated and then samples with n=250, n=500, and n=1000 sample size have been selected from each data set in 100 iterations. Factor analysis, clustering analysis, and self- organizing maps method have been applied to these 2700 samples by using MATLAB programming environment and then, percentages of determination ratio of desired construct for all three methods have been compared. Results show that factor loading value is a very important criterion and, the more the factor loadings are high, the more desired construct is represented well. It has been also found that, for all three methods, low factor loadings and small sample size lead to poor results, that is, the existing construct has not been determined sufficiently well for such cases. It is concluded that self- organizing maps method can be used as a new and complimentary method to determine dimensions in construct validity studies. 102

Early childhood is a critical period for development and proficiency of motor skills. Motor development of children should be assessed in order to understand the concept, and if necessary, plan ahead accordingly. In this study, a validity and reliability research was carried out for a Turkish translation of Miller Function and Participation Scales in an effort to assess motor development of children aged 48-95 months. The study group consists of a total of 262 children aged 48-95 months, including a group of children with delayed motor development. The study data were gathered with a personal information form created by the researcher, as well as with Miller Function and Participation Scales. Gazi Early Childhood Development Assessment Tool and Frostig Developmental Test of Visual Perception were used for determining concurrent validity. Within the scope of the validity study on Miller Function and Participation Scales, construct validity, its relationship with other variables, and clinical discriminant validity were demonstrated. In the reliability study, internal consistency, test-retest reliability, and inter-rater correlation coefficients were calculated. Considering the results of the study, it was concluded that the Turkish version of Miller Function and Participation Scales is a valid and reliable assessment tool for children aged 48-95 months.

Objective: The objective of this study is to carry out the validity and reliability of Pictorial Pediatric Symptom Checklist (PPSC), in preschool children of 4-5 ages. Methods: This methodological study was carried out by permission of ethics committee from Marmara University Institute of Health Sciences Ethics Committee and permission of Duzce Provincial National Education Directorate. The population of the study consists of 1.512 parents with children of 4-5 ages studying in 26 preschool education institutions in Duzce. The sample of the study is composed of 759 parents who accept to participate in the study and meet the admission criteria. MINRES Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were used to identify and support of the validity of PPSC. The Cronbach's alpha internal consistency, test-retest and Spearman-Brown reliability coefficients were calculated in order to assess the reliability of the checklist. Findings: It was observed that the dataset of the checklist meet multivariate normal distribution and multicollinearity assumptions. According to Cronbach's alpha internal consistency and test-retest validity coefficients, the overall reliability of the checklist is at an acceptable level. As a result of factor analysis, the construct validity of PPSC with five-factor structure was investigated with CFA. Although the suggested model was not considered as meaningful (chi(2)=460.02, df=365, p=0.001), the model has a good fit because it is RMSEA

This study was planned to adapt the Assessment of Children’s Hand Skills and Children’s Hand Skills Ability Questionnaire to Turkish and investigate the assessments’ reliability and validity in children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy. 112 children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy between 2 and 12 years of age were included. The translation procedure defined by Beaton was conducted. After the Turkish translation, the assessments were translated back to English by native English speakers and necessary cultural adaptations were discussed and determined by the jury. All participants were re-evaluated 1 week after the initial assessments. The researchers did not encounter with any problems related to cultural agreement. Validity of ACHS and CHSQ was tested with construct and criterion validity; and the assessments’ reliability was tested with internal consistency and test-retest methods. When the relationship between ACHS and its reference test, Shriners Hospital Upper Extremity Evaluation (SHUEE) was analyzed, a very strong correlation was detected between ACHS and SHUEE Spontaneous Functional Analysis (r=0.856) as well as SHUEE Grasp and Release Analysis (r=0.862) and a strong correlation was detected between ACHS and SHUEE Dynamic Positional Analysis (r=0.780). When the relationship between CHSQ and its reference test, ABILHAND was analyzed; a strong correlation was detected between CHSQ’s Activities of Daily Living (r=0.762), School Related Work (r=0.745) and Leisure and Play (r=0.799) parameters and ABILHAND scores. For the tests’ construct validity, the score differences between genders were analyzed. The tests were found to be consistent across genders with no difference found between different gender groups’ scores in ACHS (p=0.70) as well as CHSQ’s Activities of Daily Living (p=0,15), School Related Work (p=0,90) and Leisure and Play (p=0,49) parameters. The Cronbach’s α value for was 0.98 for ACHS and 0.84 for CHSQ. The test-retest analysis for CHSQ yielded excellent reliability for time related equability for all the sub-tests (ICC>0.8). The test-retest analysis result was similar for ACHS (ICC>0.8). Conclusively, the Turkish adaptations for ACHS and CHSQ were reliable and valid assessment tools for children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy. Çalışmaya 2-12 yaş arasında 112 hemiplejik serebral palsili çocuk dahil edildi. Beaton‘ın tanımladığı çeviri prosedürü uygulandı. Anket Türkçe çevirisi sonrası, anadili İngilizce olan uzman ekip tarafından İngilizceye çevrildi, jüri tarafından gerekli kültürel adaptasyonlar tartışılarak belirlendi. Değerlendirmelerden bir hafta sonra tüm bireylere tekrar test yapıldı. Uygulama esnasında anketin Türk kültürüyle uyumlanmasında herhangi bir problem yaşanmadı. ÇEBA ve ÇEBD’nin geçerliliği, yapı ve kriter geçerliliği yöntemi ile; güvenilirliği ise iç tutarlık, test-tekrar test yöntemleri kullanılarak incelendi. ÇEBD’nin referans değerlendirmesi olan SHÜED değerlendirmesi ile ilişkisine bakıldığında, ÇEBD ile SHÜED spontan fonksiyonel analiz (r=0,856) ve kavrama-bırakma analizi (r=0,862) alt parametreleri arasında çok yüksek, dinamik pozisyonel analiz (r=0,780) alt parametresi ile ise yüksek ilişki içerisinde olduğu saptanmıştır. ÇEBA’nın, referans değerlendirme olan ABILHAND değerlendirmesi ile ilişkisine bakıldığında, ÇEBA’nın serbest zaman (r=0,799), okul (0,745) ve günlük yaşam aktiviteleri (0,762) alt parametreleri ile ABILHAND arasında ise yüksek ilişki içerisinde olduğu saptanmıştır. ÇEBD ve ÇEBA’ya ait yapı geçerliliği analizi için demografik özelliklere göre gruplar arasında fark olup olmadığı incelendi. Erkek ve kız katılımcılar arasındaki farkın incelendiği analizin sonuçlarında p değerinin anlamlılık değeri olarak kabul edilen 0,05’den büyük olması değerlendirmelerin cinsiyetler arasında tutarlı olduğunu gösterir. ÇEBD (p=0,70), ÇEBA’nın serbest zaman (p=0,49), okul (0,90), günlük yaşam aktiviteleri (p=0,15) alt parametrelerinde farklı cinsiyetlerde tutarlı sonuçlar verdiği ve cinsiyete göre sonuçların değişim göstermediği saptandı. ÇEBD için iç tutarlılık mükemmel (Cronbach’s α=0,98) seviyededir. ÇEBA için iç tutarlılık oldukça yüksek (Cronbach’s α=0,84) seviyededir. ÇEBA’nın test tekrar test analizi sonucunda, tüm alt kategorilerde zamana göre değişmezlik konusunda mükemmel derecede güvenilir bulundu (ICC>0,9). ÇEBD’nin tüm alt parametrelerine ait skorlar ve toplam skoru mükemmel derecede güvenilir bulundu (ICC>0,9). Sonuç olarak, ÇEBD ve ÇEBA’nın Türkçe uyarlaması hemiplejik serebral palsili çocuklarda el becerilerini değerlendirebilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçüm aracı olarak bulundu.

Bu araştırmanın amacı Liu, Hou, Chiu ve Treagust (2014) tarafından geliştirilen Zihinsel Durum Kavramsal Öğrenme Envanterinin Türkçe’ye uyarlanarak, geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmalarının yapılmasıdır. Envanterin özgün dili İngilizcedir ve envanter 40 maddeden oluşmaktadır. Uyarlama çalışması için envanterin Türkçe’ye çevirisi yapılarak, dilsel eşdeğerlik sağlanmıştır. Envanterin kapsam geçerliği için alan uzmanlarının görüşleri alınmış ve envanter 862 lise öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Yapı geçerliğinin sağlanması amacıyla yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda 30 madde ve dört alt boyuttan oluşan modelin iyi uyum gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir [χ2 (397, n=862)= 1902.75, p, Theaim of this research was to adapt the Mental State Conceptual LearningInventory (MSCLI) developed by Liu, Hou, Chiu and Treagust (2014) into Turkishand to conduct validity and reliability studies. Zaman perspektifi bireylerin duygu ve düşüncelerini, mutluluk düzeylerini ve psikopatolojik semptomlarını etkileme gücüne sahiptir. Bu yüzden, özellikle Zimbardo Zaman Perspektifi yaklaşımı ve ölçümünün de etkisiyle zaman perspektifi son dönemde araştırmacıların ilgisini çekmektedir. Gelecek zaman perspektifi ise belirsizlik içeren doğası sebebi ile ayrıca ilgi odağı olmaktadır. Ancak, ilgili yazında zaman perspektifinin ölçümü ve kavramsallaştırılması ile ilgili farklı yaklaşımlar ve çelişkili bulgular bulunmaktadır. Bu farklılıkların ve çelişkilerin olası sebeplerinden birisi kullanılan ölçüm araçlarının, zaman perspektifini özellikle de gelecek boyutunu farklı şekillerde ele almasıdır. Bu yüzden, gelecek zaman perspektifini ölçen araçların birbirleri ile ilişkisi, bir başka deyişle, yapı geçerliklerinin bir arada ele alınması yazına ışık tutması açısından önemlidir. Buradan hareketle, gelecek boyutu ölçümünde kullanılan araçların ilişkileri incelenerek ilgili yazında yer alan çelişkili bulguların altında yatan sebeplere ışık tutulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada, gelecek zaman perspektifinin ölçümünde kullanılan farklı ölçme araçlarının birbirleri ile ilişkisi 311 katılımcı üzerinde incelenmiştir. Gelecek perspektifini ölçmek için Zimbardo Zaman Perspektifi Ölçeği (ZZPÖ) gelecek boyutu, Dengeli Zaman Perspektifi Ölçeği’nin (DZPÖ) gelecek boyutu ve Geleceğe İlişkin Tutumlar Ölçeği (GİTÖ) kullanılmıştır. Pearson Momentler Çarpımı korelasyon analizleri ve ikinci dereceden faktör analizi sonuçları, yaygın olarak kullanılan ZZPÖ’nün gelecek boyutunun GİTÖ-planlı gelecek boyutu ile ilişkili olduğunu, dolayısıyla gelecek ile ilgili bilişsel bileşenleri ölçtüğünü göstermiştir. Ayrıca, analizler GİTÖ’nün olumlu ve korkulu gelecek boyutları ile DZPÖ-gelecek boyutlarının ilişkili olduğunu göstermektedir. Bu boyutlar ise gelecek perspektifinin duygusal bileşenlerine odaklanmaktadır. Bulgular, gelecek perspektifinin çok boyutlu ve farklı bileşenleri olan bir yapısı olduğuna işaret etmektedir., A new look at the measurement and concept of future time perspective shows that it has the potential to influence human emotion and cognition, well-being, and psychopathological symptoms. Therefore, especially following the Zimbardo Time Perspective approach and using its relevant measure, the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI), time perspective has attracted the attention of researchers. Future time perspective, with its ambiguous and uncertain nature, has attracted special attention among the past, present, and future perspectives. However, measurement and conceptualization of future time perspective is complex, and research in this field produced mixed and contradictory results. Therefore, the aim of the current study is to investigate the relationship between different future time perspective measures in order to provide a theoretical explanation about mixed findings and further the validity of relevant measures. In the current study, the relationship between different future time perspective measures was investigated using 311 participants. In order to measure future time perspective, the Future subscale of the ZTPI, the Future subscale of the Balanced Time perspective Scale (BTPS), and the Attitudes Towards Future Scale (ATFS) were administered. The results of correlation and second-order factor analyses revealed that the ZTPI-Future subscale is compatible with planned future subscale of ATFS. Thus, the ZTPI-Future subscale seems to measure the cognitive component of the future time perspective. The results indicated that future time perspective is a multi-dimensional construct that includes qualitatively distinct components.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between organizational democracy and organizational cynicism as determined through academic staff opinions. 472 academic staff working in Ankara participated in the study. The data collection tools were the "Organizational Democracy Scale" developed by Tutar, Tuzcuoğlu, and Altınöz (2009), and the "Organizational Cynicism Scale" developed by Brandes, Dharwadkar, and Dean (1999). The data were analyzed by applying the t-test, Welch's t-test, Tamhane's T2 test, Kruskal-Wallis H test, nonparametric multiple comparison test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe test of post-hoc tests, and the Pearson correlation. The construct validity of the scales was tested through confirmatory factor analysis, and the Cronbach's alpha values were calculated for the internal reliability. It was found that the academics perceived moderate levels of organizational democracy; lowest levels of organizational cynicism in the cognitive and affective sub-dimensions, and moderate levels in the behavioral sub-dimension. It was determined that the participants' views on organizational democracy did not differ by the gender variable, but differed by the variables of the marital status, current university and the academic position title. While there was a significant difference in the opinions of the participants regarding the behavioral cynicism sub-dimension by the gender variable, their opinions about all the sub-dimensions of organizational cynicism differed significantly by the university variable. In addition, a high, negative and statistically significant relationship was found between academics' perception of organizational democracy and organizational cynicism attitudes in the cognitive and affective sub-dimensions; and a moderate, negative and statistically significant relationship between their perception of organizational democracy and organizational cynicism attitudes in the behavioral sub-dimensions., Bu araştırmada, öğretim elemanlarının örgütsel demokrasi ile örgütsel sinizme ilişkin görüşleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Veri toplama araçları olarak Tutar, Tuzcuoğlu ve Altınöz'ün (2009) geliştirdiği "Örgütsel Demokrasi Ölçeği" ile Brandes, Dhardwadkar ve Dean (1999) tarafından geliştirilen "Örgütsel Sinizm Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde t testi, dirençli (robust) Welch'in t testi, Tamhane'in T2 çoklu karşılaştırma testi, Kruskal-Wallis H testi, nonparametrik çoklu karşılaştırma testi, ANOVA (tek yönlü varyans analizi), Scheffe (post-hoc) testi ve Pearson korelasyonu kullanılmıştır. Ölçeklerin yapı geçerliği, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA) ile sınanmış ve güvenirliği için Cronbach alfa katsayıları hesaplanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda öğretim elemanlarının örgütsel demokrasiye ilişkin görüşlerinin orta düzeyin üzerinde, örgütsel sinizm tutumlarının bilişsel ve duyuşsal boyutta düşük, davranışsal boyutta ise orta düzeyde olduğu rapor edilmiştir. Katılımcıların, örgütsel demokrasiye ilişkin görüşlerinin cinsiyet değişkenine göre farklılaşmadığı ancak medeni durum, görev yapılan üniversite, akademik kadro unvanı değişkenlerine göre farklılaştığı saptanmıştır. Katılımcıların cinsiyet değişkenine göre sadece davranışsal sinizm boyutuna ilişkin görüşlerinde anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu görülürken, unvan ve görev yapılan üniversite değişkenlerine göre örgütsel sinizmin tüm alt boyutlarına ilişkin görüşlerinin anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaştığı belirlenmiştir. Katılımcıların örgütsel demokrasiye ilişkin görüşleri ile bilişsel ve duyuşsal sinizm tutumları arasında yüksek düzeyde negatif yönlü, istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiş, örgütsel demokrasi algısı ile davranışsal sinizm arasında orta düzeyde negatif yönlü, istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişkinin bulunduğu saptanmıştır.

The purpose of this research is to develop a reliable and valid self efficacy scale which intends to measure Turkish Language prospective teachers self efficacy beliefs towards Turkish Language teaching. For this purpose, a 69 items trial form is constructed by using the Turkish Language Teaching specific competencies of MoNE (2008). The items in the trial form were ten point response categories as suggested by Bandura (2006). The trial form was administered to totally 413 participants who were Turkish Language teacher trainees. As a result of exploratory factor analysis with Varimax rotation, the structure with five factors and 22 items was obtained. While alpha reliability of the scale was obtained as 0.941, the reliability of factors, 0,911; 0,897; 0,857 and 0,761 and 0,761 were obtained respectively. Araştırma, amaca uygun örneklem türü kullanılarak belirlenen 500 çocukla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler, kapsam, ölçüt, görünüş ve yapı geçerliliği, duyarlılık, tutarlılık ve kararlılık açısından incelenmiştir. Bulgulara göre, testte yer alan maddelerin güçlük değerleri .16 ile .81, ayırıcılık değerleri .29 ile .64 ve toplam madde korelasyonları .26 ile .56 arasında değişmektedir. Ölçüt geçerliği .94, KR-20 .84 ve test tekrar test güvenilirliği .80’dir. “Geometri ve Uzaysal Algı Testinin” geçerli ve güvenilir bir yapıda olduğu ve çocukların geometri becerilerini değerlendirmeye yönelik kullanılabileceği düşünülmektedir.

43. Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale: an adaptation study

Objective: The aim of the study is to carry out the adaptation of the Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale to Turkish and seek evidence of validity and reliability of the scale. Methods: The study was conducted with a total of 334 health professionals, ranging in age from 17 to 64 years and seniority from 1 to 33 years. Of the participants, 197 (59%) were female, 137 (41%) were male. The study was conducted in psychiatry, emergency and intensive care services and outpatient clinics in Izmir Tepecik Training and Research Hospital. 103 of participants were physicians, 188 were nurses, 21 were emergency medical technicians, and 22 were other health professionals. Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to test the construct validity of the scale in the study. The relationship between the scale and Organizational Cynicism Scale (OCS) and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) has been looked into to test criterion validity. The reliability of the scale was calculated by using the Cronbach alpha internal consistency inference method and confirmatory factor analysis was calculated with the LISREL 8.7 program. Results: Confirmatory factor analysis resulted in compliance indices confirming three dimensional originality, factor loadings ranged from 0.29-0.79 and t values were found as significant. In addition, Organizational Cynicism Scale and Maslach Burnout Inventory which examined similar constructs resulted in high and significant relationships. The reliability coefficients of the scale were found to be α=0.91 for the total scale of 17 items. In addition, α=0.78 for avoidance from sub-dimension, α=0.82 for arousal and α=0.84 for emotional violation was calculated. Discussion: As a result of the analysis of the data, it was concluded that traumatic stress scale was a valid and reliable measurement tool.

In this study, it was aimed to develop a scale to measure secondary school students’ motivation levels in physics courses. As the first step in the development of the Motivation Scale for Physics Lesson (MSPL); an item pool considering the items in the scales developed by Chin and Shieh (2005), Dede and Yaman (2008) and Glynn vd. (2011) was formed. Thereafter, the experts in the fields of educational sciences and science education were consulted for the validity of the scale. The original version of the scale which consisted of 55 items was created in the direction of the experts’ opinions. MSPL consisting of 55 items, was applied to 492 students in science and anatolian high schools in three different regions of Turkey. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was performed to determine the construct validity of the scale and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was applied to test the appropriateness of the resulting factor structure. EFA results show that 38 items are grouped under seven factors. The contribution of the seven factors to the total variance is 57.50%, with factor loadings varying from .47 to .85. When the goodness of fit indices obtained from DFA is examined, the analysis results show acceptable model fit. Also, the Cronbach alpha coefficients for the reliability of the scale factors ranged from .60 to .87 and the Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficient for the whole scale was calculated to be .92. The findings show that the developed scale can be used as a valid and reliable instrument for measuring the motivation levels of the secondary school students in physics courses., Bu çalışmada ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin fizik dersine ait motivasyon düzeylerini belirlemeye yönelik bir ölçeğin geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Fizik Dersi Motivasyon Ölçeği (FDMÖ)’nin geliştirilmesinde ilk olarak; Tuan, Chin ve Shieh (2005), Dede ve Yaman (2008) ile Glynn vd. (2011) tarafından geliştirilen ölçeklerden yararlanarak madde havuzu oluşturulmuştur. Ardından ölçeğin kapsam geçerliği için eğitim bilimci ve alan eğitimcisi uzmanların görüşüne başvurulmuştur. Uzman görüşü doğrultusunda 55 maddeden oluşan ölçeğin ilk hali oluşturulmuştur. FDMÖ’nün 55 maddelik ilk hali, Türkiye’nin üç farklı bölgesindeki fen ve anadolu liselerinde öğrenim gören 492 ortaöğretim öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliğinin belirlenmesi için açımlayıcı faktör analizi (AFA) yapılmış, elde edilen faktör yapısının uygunluğunu test etmek için doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA) gerçekleştirilmiştir. AFA sonuçları 38 maddenin yedi faktörde toplandığını göstermektedir. Yedi faktörün toplam varyansa yaptığı katkı %57.50 olup, faktör yükleri .47 ile .85 arasında değişmektedir. DFA analizi sonucunda elde edilen uyum indekslerinin kabul edilebilir düzeyde olduğu bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin faktörlerinin güvenirliği için hesaplanan Cronbach alpha katsayıları .60 ile .87 arasında değişirken, ölçeğin tümü için Cronbach alpha iç tutarlılık katsayısı .92 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Çalışma bulguları geliştirilen ölçeğin ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin fizik dersine yönelik motivasyon düzeylerinin belirlenmesinde, geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olarak kullanılabileceğini göstermektedir.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, egzersiz bağımlılığınıbelirlemede kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracıgeliştirmektir. Karma (mixed) modelde desenlenen araştırmaya, 2016-2017 eğitimöğretim yılında Gazi Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi (n=80) ve SelçukÜniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi’nden (n=98) aktif olarak spor yapmaktaolan toplam 178 beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmeni adayı katılmıştır. Ölçeğingeçerlilik ve güvenirlik çalışmalarında SPSS 23 paket program kullanılmıştır.Ayrıca doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sürecinde Lisrel 8.80 kullanılmıştır. Bubağlamda, ölçeğe madde analizi kapsamında madde toplam test korelasyonu ve %27’lik alt-üst grup toplam puan değerlendirmeleri yapılmıştır. Ölçeğin geneliiçin Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik katsayısı 0,88 bulunurken, birinci boyut için0,83; ikini boyut için 0,79; üçüncü boyut için 0,77 olarak bulunmuştur. Ölçeğinyapı geçerliliği için açımlayıcı (AFA) ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA)uygulanmıştır. AFA sonucunda ölçek, 17 maddeden oluşmakta ve üç alt faktörlübir yapı göstermektedir. Faktörlerin toplam açıkladığı varyans oranı %54,61’dir. Buna göre, Egzersiz Bağımlılığı Ölçeği (EBÖ)’nin geçerli vegüvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu söylenebilir., This study aims to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to determine exercise addiction. The research, designed in mixed model, consists of a total of 178 physical education and sport teacher candidates participated in who playing actively sports and study at Faculty of Sports Sciences of Gazi University (n = 80) and Faculty of Sports Sciences of Selçuk University (n = 98) in the academic year 2016-2017. SPSS 23 package program was used for validity and reliability studies of the scale. Lisrel 8.80 was also used in the confirmatory factor analysis process. Validity and reliability studies of scale were carried out. In this context, item total test correlation and 27% upper and lower group total point evaluations were made within the scale item analysis. Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient for general of the scale was found 0,88; it was 0,83 for the first sub-factor; it was 0,79 for the second sub-factor; it was 0,77 for the third sub-factor. An exploratory (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was applied for the construct validity of scale. As a result of EFA, the scale consists of 17 items and has a three factor structure. The total variance ratio that factors explained is 54.61%. Accordingly, it can be said that the Exercise Addiction Scale (EAS) is a valid and reliable measurement tool.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of DSM-5 Depression Severity Scale-Child Form. Methods: The scale was prepared by carrying out the translation and back-translation of DSM-V Depression Severity Scale-Child Form. Study group consisted of 46 patients that have been treated in a child psychiatry unit and diagnosed with depressive disorder and 135 healthy volunteers that were attending middle or high school during the study period. For the assessment, Child Depression Inventory (CDI) was used along with DSM-5 Depression Severity Scale-Child Form. Results: Regarding reliability analyses, Cronbachs alpha internal consistency coefficient was calculated as 0.911 while item-total score correlation coefficients were measured between 0.579 and 0.801. As for construct validity, a factor that could explain 59.2% of the variance was obtained and was consistent with the original structure of the scale. In the concurrent validity analysis, the scale showed a very high correlation with Child Depression Inventory with a correlation coefficient value measured as r=0.847. Conclusion: It was concluded that Turkish version of DSM-5 Depression Severity Scale-Child Form could be utilized as a valid and reliable tool both in clinical practice and for research purposes.

Computer programming has been included in the curriculum of K12 education around the world and this has necessitated a tool for the assessment of the computer programming self-efficacy. Thus, this study aims to suggest the necessary scale for the field. In the scale development, the steps of classical measurement theory were applied. Following the expert review, the item pool was conducted with 233 students in a public secondary school which provides education to the age group of 12-14. As a result of the study, a unidimensional 5-point Likert scale of 31 items was obtained. The factor loads varied between 0.47 and 0.71 and the explained variance rate was 41.15%. In the analysis of the internal consistency, sufficient values were found; the Cronbach alpha as 0.95 and the equivalent halves method result as 0.96. For the construct validity, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were applied and the result showed that the scale isvalid and reliable.

WOS: 000403337900008, Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the validity and reliability of Self Theory Scale in Turkish society. For this purpose was analyzed in Turkish candidate teacher the validity and reliability of the Turkish form of the Self-Theory Scale. Methods: English form of the scale was applied to 30 candidate teacher studying in grade 4th English Teaching from Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Education. The same group was given the Turkish version of the scale three week later. High level of correlation was observed between the scores obtained from the English and Turkish form. The scale was applied to the study group (426 students) by the researchers in accord with the principles of volunteering. The psychometric properties of scale were investigated by exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, criterion related validity, and half split methods. The Positive and Negative Affect Schedule, The Beck Depression Inventory and The Coopersmith Self Esteem Inventory were used for criterion related validity. Results: According to the exploratory factor analysis, it was revealed that the Turkish form of the scale had nine subscales with the 36 items, and the total amount of variance explained by all of the nine factors was 55.98%. As a result of the confirmatory factor analysis, 36 items and nine subscales were concluded to be suitable for the Turkish sample. The lowest Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.52 for a subscale of the scale and all of the 36 items was 0.84. It was found half split reliability as 0.79. It was determined that the item total correlation coefficients of the subscales varied between 0.30 and 0.78. The findings showed that there was moderately positive correlations between the Self Theory Scale (and subscales) and Positive Affect and Coopersmith Self Esteem Inventory scores and negative correlations between Self-Theory Scale and Negative Affect and Beck Depression Inventory scores. In addition, university students usually said that they have a positive self-theory. Women's Self Theory Scale total scores and academic achievement, personality and family relations subscales scores are higher than the male. Conclusion: Based on the analysis results, it was decided that the scale can measure positive and negative perceptions of themselves of Turkish university students across a variety of life domains.

WOS: 000403337900009, Objective: The present study is aimed to examine psychometrical properties of the Parents' Beliefs about Children's Emotions Questionnaire (PBACE) which is an important part of parental emotion socialization and closely related to children mental health, for Turkish parents and to detect measurement invariance according to parent gender. Methods: Three hundred and fifty mothers and 350 fathers who have children between the age of 4-10 participated in this study in Aksaray province. The PBACE is a Likert type scale and consisting of 33 items. For its Turkish adaptation, translation and back-translation were completed, and then submitted to experts for content, semantic and conceptual equivalance. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was performed for examining construct validity. Parents of gender-based measurement invariance structure were analyzed by calculating the configural, metric and scalar invariance. An evaluation of the reliability of the scale was made using, internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha) coefficients, test-retest correlation methods and item-total correlation. Results: The validity of the data obtained from the measurement tool in the study were analyzed by examining the results of CFA. CFA results indicated that the questionnaire has a structure of seven factors and data model compliance was found to be within acceptable values. Internal consistency coefficients, test-retest values and item total correlations were examined and it was found that PBACE is a reliable measuring instrument. For parent gender measurement invariance fit indexes (Chi-square, RMSEA, SRMR, CF, TLI) in gradually obtained models was examined whether the range is acceptable. When examining structural analysis results for two different gender level, it was seen that metric and scalar invariance is achieved. Discussion: Parents can use Turkish version of PBCAE for evaluating children's positive and negative emotions and parents and the questionnaire can also be used in studies examining clinical, developmental and family systems.

Veriler, araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen sosyodemografik soru formu ve Planlı Davranış Teorisine dayalı olarak likert tipi (1-7 puan) oluşturulan ölçek ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 15.0 ve LİSREL 8.7 istatistik programı kullanılmıştır. Ölçek içerik geçerliği için kapsam geçerlik indeksi, yapı geçerliği için açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmıştır. Güvenilirlik için madde analizleri ve iç tutarlılık analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırma için etik kuruldan ve ilgili kurumlardan yazılı, katılımcılardan sözel izin alınmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılanların %65.9'u hemşire, %34.1'i ebedir. Yaş ortalamaları 34.37?8.43 olup, %64.7'si lisans düzeyinde eğitime sahiptir. İçerik geçerliliği için sekiz uzmanın görüşleri alınarak kapsam geçerlik indeksi .94 bulunmuştur. Madde-toplam puan korelasyon katsayıları .457-.833 arasında, Cronbach's alpha katsayısı ?= .962'dir. Sonuç: Doğrulayıcı faktör analizine göre modelin veri-model uyumu yeterlidir. Faktör analizi sonucunda ölçeğin tek faktörlü ve 21 madde içeren bir yapıda kullanımının uygun olacağı belirlenmiştir. Ölçeğin daha geniş örneklem gruplarında sınanması önerilebilir., Aim: The aim of the study is to develop a valid and reliable scale to measure health professionals' intentions and behaviors regarding reporting intimate partner violence. Methods: This methodological study was conducted with 258 nurses/midwives in maternal and emergency services of four public hospitals and two university hospitals in Izmir and Denizli from January to March 2015. Data were collected with a sociodemographic questionnaire developed by the researchers and a Likert-type (1-7 points) scale based on the theory of planned behavior, and analyzed using statistics programs SPSS 15.0 and LISREL 8.7. Scale content was tested with a content validity index, and exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were used to test construct validity. The internal consistency and item analysis were used for reliability. Written consent was obtained from ethics committee and the other related institutions, along with oral consent from participants in the study. Results: The participants comprised 65.9% nurses and 34.1% midwives. They had a mean age of 34.37?8.43, and 64.7% have bachelor's degree. For content validity the assessments of eight specialists were reviewed and the content validity index was found to be .94. Item-total point correlation coefficients were between .457 and .833; Cronbach's alpha coefficient was ?= .962. Conclusion: Confirmatory factor analysis showed that model data fit is sufficient, and factor analysis showed that the scale is suitable to be used as single factorial including 21 items. The scale may be recommended for larger sample groups.
