2. The Effect of the Textbook Written According to the Principles of Prose Learning on the Student Achievement = Metinden ögrenme ilkelerine göre hazirlanan ders kitabinin ögrenci erisisine etkisi

- Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the textbook written according to the principles of prose learning on the student achievement. Pre-test - post-test controlled group design was used in the study. The study was conducted on 3 groups, each composed of 38 2nd grade medical vocational high school students. "Impact" is limited by the didactic quality of two separate sections of the psychology textbook and it was practiced with the traditional text book and the textbook which is organized in two separate ways as including questions and not. The data were analysed by one-way analysis of variance and t test. It was determined that there is a significant difference in favour of the group who studied the textbook with questions prepared according to the principles of prose learning compared to the group which the traditional textbook was implemented in terms of total achievements regarding knowledge, comprehension and practice levels and retention of the learned knowledge within the cognitive domain.

This paper investigates, in English, the widely reported mismatch asymmetry, or plural attraction in the production of subject-verb agreement and the relatively less observed reversed mismatch asymmetry, or singular attraction in comprehension. Through a self-paced reading experiment, a read-aloud production task and a pen-and-paper questionnaire, we examined whether singular attraction is a genuine effect in comprehension or it could be due to the experimental materials in the few studies that reported it. The results support the view that singular attraction in comprehension is genuine, at least for structures that include three nouns in the subject, and plural attraction extends to sentences with complex subjects that include three nouns when the task is not too demanding. The (reversed) mismatch asymmetry in subject-verb agreement is attributed to the differential mechanisms involved in sentence comprehension and production.

11. Evaluating the Information Content, Readability, and Reliability of Turkish Websites about Fibromyalgia

Aim:Although fibromyalgia patients frequently use the internet to get information about their diseases, there is no comprehensive and strong study investigating the quality and reliability of websites offering online information in Turkish. The aim of this study was to examine the content, readability, and reliability levels of the information published on Turkish websites about fibromyalgia.Methods:In May 2022, the words “fibromyalgia” and “muscle rheumatism” were scanned on a Google search, and the websites in the first 20 pages were investigated. The websites were divided into three groups according to the creator: Group 1= hospitals, associations, and official institutions; group 2= health professionals; and group 3= others (news sites, blogs, etc.). The readability level was evaluated according to the Ateşman and Bezirci-Yılmaz formula; the reliability was evaluated according to the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) score; and the information content was evaluated by referring to the subject headings in the patient information booklet prepared by the Turkish Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Association. The grouping of the websites and evaluation of the JAMA score were rated by two independent researchers.Results:One hundred and seven websites were included in the study; 48 (44.8%) were in group 1, 28 (26.2%) were in group 2, and 31 (29.0%) were in group 3. The median Ateşman value of all websites was 47.3 [minimum (min.)=21.6, maximum (max.)=80.2]; the median Bezirci-Yılmaz value was 13.1 (min.=4.8, max.=22.7). The JAMA median score was 2.0 (min.=0, max.=4), and 102 (95.2%) websites were classified as low-reliable (JAMA score≤2). The information content of 12 (11.2%) websites was complete. There was no difference between the groups in terms of the JAMA score, Ateşman, and Bezirci-Yılmaz values (p=0.705, 0.801, and 0.697, respectively). Okuma, metinler aracılığıyla zihinde yeni anlamlar inşa etmektir. Okumanın temel amacı anlamı bulmaktır. Okuma eğitiminin nihai hedefi olan anlamanın ne kadar gerçekleştiğinin tespitinde sorular son derece önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı ilkokul dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin okudukları hikâye edici ve bilgilendirici metinlere yönelik soru sorma becerilerini incelemektir. Araştırma kapsamında; “İlkokul öğrencilerinin farklı metin türlerine yönelik sordukları sorular soruluş amaçlarına ve cevap kaynaklarına göre nasıldır?” sorusuna cevap aranmıştır. Araştırma, nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması şeklinde tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu ilkokul dördüncü sınıfta öğrenim gören 237 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama sürecinde öncelikle öğrencilerden bilgilendirici ve hikâye edici metinleri okumaları ve ardından bu metinlere yönelik üçer soru hazırlamaları istenmiştir. Öğrencilerin yazmış oldukları sorular soruluş amaçlarına ve cevap kaynaklarına göre betimsel olarak analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizi sonucunda öğrencilerin oluşturdukları soruların soruluş amacına göre hikâye edici metinde kimlik, neden-sonuç ve tanımlama türünde; bilgi verici metinde ise kimlik, örneklendirme ve tanımlama türünde fazla olduğu/yoğunlaştığı görülmüştür. Cevap kaynağına göre ise her iki metin türünde büyük çoğunlukla metin içi soruların hazırlandığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Reading, which is a language skill that an individual first learns at school and uses throughout his/her life, is a high-level skill that includes understanding, interpreting, criticizing, and evaluating as well as seeing and vocalizing the texts. Especially today, with the development of technology, the importance of reading skills has increased, and its scope and quality have also changed. This study aims to determine how well the Turkish questions of LGS (High School Entrance System) between the years 2018-2021 are compatible with the reading levels of PISA. The document analysis method was used in the research, which was designed with a qualitative approach. In the research, 6 reading proficiency levels determined by PISA were ground as a data collection tool. In the research, 66 Turkish questions (reading comprehension) in four LGS exams held between 2018-2021 were used as documents. The data obtained in the research were analyzed using descriptive analysis, one of the qualitative research techniques. In this study, which aims to examine 66 Turkish questions in four LGS conducted in Turkey between 2018-2021 according to PISA reading proficiency levels, it is stood out that the questions in the said exams are mostly concentrated in the 3rd levels of PISA. 16. Last-Acquired-First-Forgotten: Interpretation of Turkish Relative Clauses in Typically Developing Children and Adults with Broca’s Aphasia

The present study addresses whether adults with Broca’s aphasia who have damage in their Posterior Left Inferior Frontal Gyrus (PLIFG) show similar performance to typically developing children in their processing of complex syntax. We tested comprehension of Turkish relative clauses using a sentence-picture matching task in Broca’s patients and children with typical development (aged: 3;04-4;03). Both groups showed better performance in subject relative clauses compared to object relative clauses. Children's similar performance to Broca's patients might be due to the fact that PLIFG is a late-maturing neural region. Our participants had more errors in object relative clauses despite the first referent was the agent so there was no evidence for the agent-first strategy. Poor performance in object relative clauses was linked to the morphosyntactic complexity in these structures.

The study aims to make the Quran course instructors aware of the information of the disciples and thus contribute to the appropriate measures for the relevant institutions. In this study, "Balina ile Mandalina", a children's book by Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca, was examined and evaluated for the use of this book in Turkish teaching. It was aimed to use the book" Balina ve Mandalina " efficiently in Turkish lessons with the study. For this purpose, the book "Balina ile Mandalina" was investigated based on the 2019 Turkish language curriculum and by taking into account listening/monitoring, speaking, reading (fluent reading, word presence, understanding) and writing achievements. The document review method was used in the study. According to this method, the elements that would be the basis for teaching the basic language skills of "Balina ile Mandalina" were evaluated. The data obtained as a result of this evaluation are presented together with the learning outcome explanations in the results section. Examples of applications that can be used in Turkish lessons from 1st grade to 8th grade are also included in the study. According to the evaluations, it was concluded that the book of "Balina ile Mandalina" would be a source for Turkish lessons. The fact that the book is also important in terms of allowing students to see different types of text and understand the possibilities of Turkish is among the results of the study. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of the procedural modelbased reading comprehension practice on the reading comprehension skills of 8th grade secondary school students. The study was conducted with the embedded design, which is one of the mixed research methods. In the intervention application of the research, an experimental design with pre-test post-test control group, one of the experimental designs, was used. The research was conducted with 8th grade students in two different secondary schools in the province of Ağrı in the 2019-2020 academic year. In the sampling process, the schools where the study will be carried out were determined with the simple random sampling method, and then the experimental and control groups consisting of 93 students were determined with the simple random sampling method, and the reading comprehension activity application based on the procedural model developed during the research process was applied to the experimental groups for 14 weeks. In the process of data analysis; Content analysis method, normality analysis, Single Factor Covariance Analysis and t test were applied. Within the findings obtained from the research, it is seen that the reading comprehension application based on the procedural model is an effective approach in the development of 8th grade students' reading comprehension skills, and that the findings obtained from the analysis of the documents obtained during the application and the interview processes after the application overlap with the data obtained by quantitative methods, and that the qualitative findings It was determined that it explained the quantitative findings sufficiently. Ibn 'Arabī's Fuṣūṣ al-ḥikam is one of the most important works of the literature on Sūfī metaphysics. Many commentaries have been written on the work since the period it was written. These commentaries made important contributions to understanding Fuṣūṣ al-ḥikam. To write a commentary on Fuṣūṣ al-ḥikam has become a style of writing book. One of the most important characteristics of these commentaries is the muqaddimas written by commentators at the beginning of the commentaries. These muqaddimas have been written in various volumes and languages. These are the texts that give information about the main topics of Fuṣūṣ al-ḥikam and the main theses of Ibn 'Arabī thought. The first examples of muqaddimas are found in the commentaries of Mu'ayyad al-Dīn al-Jandī and 'Abd al-Razzāq al-Kāshānī. The muqaddimas are also at the beginning of many commentaries written in the following centuries. Thus, it has become a permanent tradition to write a muqaddima to Fuṣūṣ al-ḥikam commentary. An important part of the Fuṣūṣ commentary muqaddima tradition is the muqaddima of al-Muntahā written by Yazicizade Mehmed and Ahmed Bīcān. In this introduction, Yazicizade brothers gave detailed information about some concepts and issues of Sūfī metaphysics, the subject of tasawwuf, its issues, principles, purpose, marātib al-wujūd and the concept of man. Murāqaba is one of the mystical concepts that have been emphasized since the early periods of the Sūfism and explained by many Sūfīs. It is possible to gather the meanings given to the concept under two basic points. The first is that the person turns to Allah and feels the consciousness that he is always in His presence. In this sense, it can be said that murāqaba is used synonymously with the concept of ihsān in the hadith known as the hadith of Jibrīl. The other meaning of murāqaba refers to turning to one's heart and protecting his heart from everything but Allah. Sūfīs emphasized both meanings of murāqaba. On the other hand, it is seen that the concept of murāqaba gained different meanings in the history of Sūfism. The clearest example of this is the meaning it gained in the Naqshbandiyya. Although the concept preserves the meanings we explained above, it is seen that it gained a different meaning in the Naqshbandī order, especially after Ahmad Sirhindī, and became a part of the spiritual education system in the order. In this article, the understanding of murāqaba, which is used as a method in the understanding of sulūk (wayfaring) in Naqshbandiyya and which has various types such as murāqaba al-ahadiyya, murāqaba alma' iyya, will be examined. In addition to this, brief information will be given about the sulūk method of Naqshbandiyya, the basic principles of Naqshbandiyya will be pointed out and the different understandings of murāqaba that emerged in this order will also be elaborated on. This article is aiming at determining Abū Yūsuf's understanding of istisān. This literature review is largely focused on Abū Yūsuf's works as well as Imam Muammad al-Shaibānī's books, known as āhir ar-riwāya. However, in these books, the conditions and reasons of istisān, as performed by Abū Yūsuf, were not clearly stated. As a result, we expanded the reach of our investigation to include other anafī books written in later years. In addition to the well recognised reasons for istisân, we elaborated on several other things taken into account by Abū Yūsuf, such as providing ease, caring for social need, precautionary measure, protection, removal of difficulties, providing benefits for individual and public and elimination of individual and public harm. For an in-depth inquiry into Abū Yūsuf's perception of istisān, the article has provided several examples relating to cases in which Abū Yūsuf prefers qiyās, even though he might go for istisān. It also discusses why the basis of istisān in Abū Yūsuf's understanding differed from the basis listed in later classical anafī references. We summarized the results of the analysis in the conclusion. Various key concepts in the Qur’an serve a critical role in correcting misconceptions in the minds of its addressees, transforming these erroneous understandings into correct ones and progressively constructing a new mentality in the person. The Arabic word rabb (lord) used in the Qur’an to mean “God’s subjugation and uninterrupted administration of the entire cosmos as owner of all creation” is one such concept. Given the obscure and contradictory conceptions of God and lordship (rububiyyah) that the Qur’an’s first addressees had, this term serves an important function in emphasizing God’s continuous administration of the cosmos and, more particularly, of man as the lord of all of creation. Accordingly, considering how frequently and in what ways the word rabb is used in the Qur’an during the first half of the Meccan period, we observe that it constitutes one of the cornerstones and fundamental concepts of the Qur’an. In our aim to depict the current situation, we will discuss certain key points that demonstrate how the first addressees of the Qur’an, i.e., the Meccan polytheists, perceived both God and the concept of lordship. After this, we attempt to determine the style in which the word rabb is used, the number of times it appears, and its ratio of use compared to other words over the course of the Qur’an’s revelation. In the Ottoman State, magazines performed a school duty and one of the important elements of the publication policy of the magazines was to educate the public. One of the issues that magazines inform the public is economic issues. Magazines have been one of the important mediators in the spread of modern economic thought in the Ottoman Empire. The people got acquainted with the science of economics through magazines and learned the rules of this science from the books of economics through articles on economics published in magazines. Many magazines have been serialized in magazines. The language of the published books is simple and it is given in the form of question-answer, that is, mutual speech, and the aim is to teach the science of economics. In the journal Hazine-i Evrak, an important science and literature journal of the II. Abdulhamid era, two books related to economics were also serialized. One of the books is that a part of the book written with a modern economic understanding is given under the title of "Political Economy: İlm-i Emval-i Milliye". The other one is the treatise about the finance written by Suphi Pasha in line with the traditional view of the sultan in 1865. With these two serials, Hazine-i Evrak magazine aimed to educate the public on economic issues on their readers. This article explores the possibility of abrogation through ijtihad within the scope and conditions of meaning. Bringing abrogation to the agenda by linking abrogation with ijtihad in science circles led us to investigate this possibility. This contact is established by Abu Mansur el-Mâtürîdî to explain the decision of Abu Bakr not to give zakat to the muellefe-i kulub, which is one of the places where zakat is consumed. In order to understand what the intent is, the meaning area of abrogation, ijtihad and en-abrogation bi'l ijtihad concepts was investigated. The subject has been addressed within the framework of Mâtürîdî's understanding of abrogation, the evaluations of commentators and studies conducted today. In the evaluation made, it has been understood that what is expressed by en-abrogation bi'l ijtihad is not related to classical abrogation. It has been concluded that the aforementioned conceptualization indicates the realization of the relevant decision. The skills that we use to achieve our goals in the listening process are called listening strategies. With this study, the Turkish teachers' opinions were defined, regarding the applicability of the listening strategies included in the literature. The study group of the research was consisted of 11 Turkish teachers including 3 females and 8 male, working at the public schools in Bitlis city center, in 2018-2019 academic year. The Turkish teachers' opinions were explored with an interview form having ten items, formed in qualitative pattern and phenomenological type, including 2 metacognitive strategy questions, 7 cognitive strategy questions and 1 question increasing the applicability of the listening strategie. The data collected in the research were subjected to the content analysis, and the frequencies of the resulting findings were obtained. The compliance between the data encoded by two separate researchers for the ensurance of reliability of the study, is 86 percent. According to the results obtained in the research, five essential titles that make the usage of listening strategies stronger or weaker, were defined as follows: teacher, listening material, student, environment, and speaker. In this study, it is aimed to examine the Science and Art Centers Turkish Course Curriculum (2020), according to the revised Bloom taxonomy. For this, the objectives in the program were determined and these objectives were evaluated in terms of cognitive domain steps and knowledge types determined in the revised Bloom's taxonomy. The study was designed in accordance with the case study preferred in qualitative research. Document analysis was used for data collection, and descriptive analysis method was used for data analysis. According to the findings; the objectives are most suitable for using factual and conceptual knowledge. Achievements corresponding to remembering and understanding from the cognitive domain steps stand out as a percentage. According to the results, knowledge types and cognitive domain levels are not distributed evenly. Among the types of knowledge, the objectives using procedural and metacognitive knowledge are relatively inadequate. While the lower levels come to the fore in the stages of remembering and comprehension, the objectives corresponding to the upper level stages of analysis, evaluation and creation were not included enough in the program. Gifted students need to think critically and analytically, and to recognize and develop their abilities. In this respect, it is recommended to ensure a balanced distribution in the programs to be developed, to include the objectives appropriate to the analysis, evaluation and creation steps related to the type of metacognitive knowledge and high-level cognitive skills. It is seen that there are some discussions between Ahmad ibn Hanbal and Kullabism after the mihna. It is understand that the attitude displayed by Ahmad ibn Hanbal has been continued by the later representatives of Hanbalism tradition. In this study, the approaches of the two groups towards each other have been discussed from 9th to 12th century. Especially the thoughts and criticisms of Hanbalism about Ibn Kullab, Muhasıbi and Kerabisi have been mentioned. The extent of the discussions between the two groups have been dwelled on and the issues of the discussions has been examined. The concepts of Lafzıyye and Vakıfiyye used by Hanbali names when criticizing the Kullabism and their reactions to these thoughts have been expressed due to the main topic of discussion. Māturīdiyya is a sect that is attributed to Abū Manṣūr al-Māturīdī (d. 333/944) who was from Transoxiana (Mā-warāʾ al-Nahr) and its roots are based on Imām al-‘Azām Abū (d. 150/767). Abū Manṣūr al-Māturīdī, as an accredited The Ḥanafī jurists and a great commentator, made a great effort to understand both the creed and fiqh aspects of Hanafiyya and developed and systematized Abū Ḥanīfa's creed views. At the same time, he gave valuable works such as Kitâbü't-Tawhid and Taʾwīlāt al-Qurʾān and educated valuable students. His students, students of his students and their followers have taught Mâturîdî's works and tried to spread his views. Among them, Abū l-Yusr Muḥammad al-Bazdawī (d. 493/1100), Abū l-Muʿīn al-Nasafī (d. 508/1114), ʿAlāʾ al-Dīn al-Samarqandī (d. 539/1144), and Nūr al-Dīn al-Ṣābūnī (d. 580/1184) and many other Hanafī-Māturīdi scholars from Transoxiana have produced original works to summarize or explain al-Māturīdī's views. Thus, they contributed to the spread of al-Māturīdī in Transoxiana by highlighting Abū Manṣūr al-Māturīdī's name and views. In this context, this article aims to reveal, chronologically and briefly, how the Ḥanafī scholars from Transoxiana contributed to the development of Māturīdiyya in the X, XI, XII and XIII. centuries. Proverbs, one of the important ideal and cultural heritage of societies, provide information about the world views and past experiences of the nation which they belong as a result of both their advice and suggestions and the word preferences used when they were created. In proverbs of Turkish, we see the experiences that the Turkish nation has gained in the history process, the material and sentimental problems it has experienced, the lessons it draws from it, and the discourses it has made these lessons "essential" to pass on to future generations. Proverbs are also used to strengthen the message to be given in writing and speaking. There is another unprocessed area between the lines of these precious words that reflect the past of the society and language and also take the task of shaping its future. A detailed examination of this area, which is called the conceptual area, will enable us to better understand the task of the proverbs and to see the historical information in more detail. In this study, it has been tried to reveal some details that are not visible at first glance in terms of the concepts pointed out by the message of the proverbs.
