introduction: Gastric cancer is one of the leading cause of death both in men and women. More than two-thirds of the patients were diagnosed in advanced stage. Metastatic gastric cancer has a poor prognosis with a reiative 5-years-survivai rate of %7. İn the previous reports, hematological parameters including ieukocyte, thrombocyte counts and ratios between them had been used as prognostic indicators in several tumor types. The aim of the current study was to determine vvhether hematological parameters tike neutrophils, iymphocyte or thrombocyte counts and thrombocyte-iymphocyte ratio (TLR), neutrophii-iymphocyte ratio (NLR) before treatment might predict survival in metastatic gastric cancer. Patients and Methods: A total of 112 patients with metastatic gastric cancer treated and followed-up from 2004 to 2008 were anaiyzed. Hematological parameters measured before treatment were obtained from patients chart and evaluated retrospectively. NLR and TLR were calculated from pre-treatment complete blood counts. Correlation betvveen parameters and survival were made by using log-rank and Kaplan-Meier tests. Results: For 112 patients with metastatic gastric cancer, 2-years survival rate and median survival time were 17% and 12 months, respectively. Although thrombocytosis (> 300.000), TLR (> 160), lymphopenia (< 1500), NLR (> 2.56) had been found predict poor survival time, it was not shown statistically significant. Conclusion: İn present study we could not find any significant correlation between survival and hematological parameters in patients with metastatic gastric cancer, hovevver, further studies including larger sample size may be reçuired to clarify the prognostic value of pre-treatment peripheral blood counts., Gastrik kanser, kadın ve erkekte en sık ölüme neden olan kanserlerdendir. Tedaviden önce ölçülen hematolojik parametreleri hasta kartlarından elde ettik. TLO ve LTO tedavi öncesi parametrelerden hesapladık. Parametrelerle sağkalım arasındaki ilişkiyi log-rank ve Kaplan-Meier analizleriyle değerlendirdik. Bulgular: Metastatik mide kanserli 112 hastanın iki yıllık sağkalım oranı ve ortalama sağkalım süresi ayrı ayrı %17 ve 12 aydı. Inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) is the %1-6of breast cancer and had a worse prognosis than locally advanced breast cancer. Forty-one patients with IBC were analysed retrospectively. Disease free sun/ival (DFS), overall survival (OS), prognostic fac-tors were evaluated by univariety analysis. Median age of patients was 46. After the diagnosis, 28 patients underwent mastectomy. Median two cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (CT) was given to 51% patients. Taxanes and antracyclines included regi-mens were given as adjuvant CT and also adjuvant radiotherapy was given 66% of patients. For the 19 months of follow-up time, three years OS and DFS rates were 81% and 49.8% respectively. Median DFS was 28.8 months, median OS was not reached. We found that neoadjuvant CT was related OS, perineural invasion, c-erbB2 expression was related with DFS by univariety analysis (p< 0.05). Hovevver, there was not any prognostic factor related survival by multivariety analysis. IBC stili has bad prognosis, larger studies with more patients are needed., İnflamatuvar meme kanseri (İMK), meme kanserlerinin %1-6'sını oluşturup, lokal ileri meme kanserine göre daha kötü prog-nozludur. İMK'li 41 hasta retrospektif olarak değerlendirildi. Hastalıksız sağkalım (DFS), gene! sağkalım (OS) ve prognostik faktörler univariyete analiziyle değerlendirildi. Hastaların median yaşı 46 idi. Tanı sonrası 28 (%68) hasta öpere olabildi. Yirmi bir (%51) hastaya median iki kür neoadjuvan kemoterapi (KT) verilmişti. Adjuvan KT olarak antrasiklinli ve taksanlı rejimler kullanılmıştı, %66 hasta adjuvan radyoterapi verilmişti. Median 19 ay takip edilen hastaların üç yıllık OS ve DFS oranları sırasıyla %81 ve %49.8 idi. Median DFS 28.8 ayken, median OS zamanına ulaşılamadı. Univariyete analizinde, neoadjuvan KT OS'u, perinö-rat invazyon, c-erbB2 pozitifliği ise DFS'yi predikte eden faktörler olarak bulundu (p< 0.05). Multivariyete analizinde ise sağkalım predikte eden faktör saptanmadı (p> 0.05). Yeni gelişmelere rağmen, İMK günümüzde halen hızlı progresyon ve uzak metastaz yapma riskine sahiptir. Daha fazla hasta sayısı içeren çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır.

Ovarian metastases originate from mostly genital organ, aftervvards gastrointestinal tract and breast carcinoma, respectively. İn this report, we present a case of recurrent breast cancer who vvas diagnosed vvith isolated ovarian metastases seven years after the diagnosis of breast cancer and had treated vvith adjuvant chemotherapy and vvere followed-up under anastrozole treatment. She vvas presented vvith abdominal pain at the right lovver side. Radiological examinations revealed a mass vvhich vvas similar to uterine leiomyoma in the uterus. A total hysterectomy vvith bilateral salpingo-oopherectomy vvas performed. Histopathologic examination of specimen revealed carcinoma infiltration of the right ovary. İn immunohistochemical staining the diffuse and strong positivity vvith cytokeratin (CK) 7 and gross cyctic disease fluid protein (GCDFP-15) vvere detected. The diagnosis of invasive ductal breast carcinoma to the right ovary vvas made by morphological, IHC and clinical findings. She vvas received four cycles chemotherapy, postoperatively. The patient vvas follovved-up vvithout relapse vvithin 21 months under hormonotherapy. İn patients vvith breast cancer, when a mass is detected in ovaries or pelvic region, not only primary ovarian cancer, but metastatic breast carcinoma to ovaries should be kept in mind., Över metastazı, en sık genital organlardan ardından sırayla gastrointestinal sistem ve meme karsinomundan gerçekleşir. Bu yazıda, meme kanseri nedeniyle adjuvan tedavilerini aldıktan sonra adjuvan anastrazol tedavisi altında takip edilirken, yedi yıl sonra izole över metastazı saptanan nüks meme kanseri olgusu sunuldu. Hasta sağ alt karın ağrısı ile başvurdu. Yapılan radyolojik incelemelerde uterus içerisinde miyoma uteri ile uyumlu kitle saptandı. Hastaya total abdominal histerektomi ve bilateral salpingooferektomi uygulandı. Histopatolojik incelemede sağ överde karsinom infiltrasyonu saptandı. Alınan dokuların immünhistokimyasal (İHK) incelemesinde, tümör hücrelerinde sitokeratin (CK) 7 ile ve gross cyctic disease fluid protein (GCDFP-15) ile yaygın ve kuvvetli pozitiflik saptandı. Morfolojik, İHK ve klinik bulgular eşliğinde hastaya invaziv duktal karsinomun över metastazı tanısı konuldu. Postoperatif dört kür kemoterapi uygulanan hasta 21. ayında halen hormonoterapi altında hastalıksız olarak izlenmektedir. Meme kanserli hastalarda överlerde ya da pelvisde kitle saptandığında, primer över kanseri olabileceği gibi meme kanserine bağlı över metastazı olabileceği de akılda tutulmalıdır.
